All right, take off your magic band. No need to count any steps. Time to unpack your bags because we're home. Bummer.
SPEAKER_00I know.
SPEAKER_02But guess what? Today we're going over our top tens. Here we go.
SPEAKER_01Come on, everybody. Here we go.
SPEAKER_02All right, welcome back to Here We Go, the Walt Disney World podcast where we talk all things, rides, resorts, food, tips, tricks. But today we're talking our top 10 best things that we experienced at Walt Disney World on our last trip. Today I have my beautiful wife with me as always. Say hello, Kim.
SPEAKER_00Hey, hey.
SPEAKER_02I said to say hello, Kim.
SPEAKER_00Hello, Kim.
SPEAKER_02There you go. Better.
unknownAll right.
SPEAKER_02Uh, we are going to go over our top 10s. We just got back from uh our honeymoon vacation, uh, an adults-only trip where we stayed at Pop Century Resort for one week, and we did the uh the park hopper thing for four days, which was absolutely amazing. Went to every single park, had some amazing restaurants, uh, some amazing awesome rides, experiences, some shows, and just overall, what a wonderful trip that we had. I think it was like a super positive experience. I learned a lot from uh just going with me and you, and not, you know, again, I don't ever want to like knock the kids in this because I love going with the kids, you know, the magic through their eyes is amazing, but there was something to be said about just being uh open to doing whatever. And I think that I was like kind of had my guard down even more that I didn't have to worry about three other children having to eat, uh, you know, arguing about rides. It was just me and you. And uh we had such a great time. I mean, we did things like go to California Grill and Tobolino's Terrace. Um yeah, there was just so many magical things that happened. So the agenda for today is to go through our top 10. Start at number 10, go to number one, and these could the these top uh tens, uh, our top tens could be anything, so it could be a food, an experience, a show, a ride, anything. Can be an entire park, whatever you want.
SPEAKER_00And we both have our own lists, so and we haven't shared them with each other yet. So it's gonna be a surprise.
SPEAKER_02I'm sure there's gonna be doubles of a lot of things because we did some new thing, we did some new stuff together that we hadn't done before in previous trips. So uh super excited to get into it. So let's do it. Um, yeah, let's take it right from number 10. What is your number 10?
SPEAKER_00All right, so for my number 10, it was enjoying a to die for Ube Cold Brew at Satulis Canteen after right after we went on the flight of passage. Oh and I feel like this hit so hard because on the flight of passage we hadn't eaten yet, we hadn't caffeinated. I was just I love the ride, it was amazing. It was my first time on it, but like it was making me a little motion sick net.
SPEAKER_02Like, I was like empty stomach on that ride uh is definitely going to make you a little motion sick. We hadn't eaten, we definitely needed coffee, and we were saving it because we knew that there was a few coffees that we wanted to try in Animal Kingdom, but my god, that thing was purple and delicious.
SPEAKER_00So good, it tasted like uh like a mocha, like coffee, but then the ube just like added like just like it just hit so it had like that kind of like caramelly creaminess to it, kind of, but it's just very unique.
SPEAKER_02It's like sweet potato coffee, you know, like that. That ube is a great flavor. We had another ube latte over at um Magic Kingdom and Starbucks, yeah. The Starbucks and Magic Kingdom, it didn't it wasn't as good. Yeah, this was okay, but in the I don't know, for you I think this was your favorite coffee, yeah, for sure. Um, my favorite coffee came from Gideon's, so I don't mean to jump off of it, but I it's it didn't make my top 10, but I will say that the peanut butter cold brew from Gideon's, whoo! Yeah, honorable mention right here at the bottom because I know I wish I had gotten well, I got the French toast latte. Yeah, I shared a little bit, but I wasn't very sherry with that coffee. It was too good. I I liked it too much.
SPEAKER_00Okay, babe, let's hear your number 10.
SPEAKER_02All right, my number 10 is going to be the jungle cruise. Now, it's a weird one, it's a weird one to put on the list. It hasn't always been something that we've we've done. Actually, in the three prior trips that we've taken together, I never took you on it. Yeah, the the line was always so long, and you know, I've I've been on this thing hundreds of times, but not going for the past like four years and going on it with you for the first time and having like watching you get all of the dad jokes, like you loved them all. Yeah, you were really like knee slapping to these dad jokes.
SPEAKER_00That's those are my kind of jokes.
SPEAKER_02You love the dad jokes.
SPEAKER_00I laugh at you so much.
SPEAKER_02Oh, yeah, because you make it's all my dad jokes, I got it. Um, but you know, it's weird, like this ride is uh it's a little bit of like social battery. You've got jokes happening, you're sitting uh communally with 25 people around this boat, and but I don't know, for some reason, this time I was like, this is a wonderful experience.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, it was like it had just gotten dark out, and it was like dark, yeah.
SPEAKER_02I think, yeah, it was dark, it was, it was just the sun had just gone down, we're just cruising around, the jokes were good. Our captain or skipper rather was great, yeah. And uh yeah, it just the jungle cruise for me was my number 10, and it made me want to go back and check out the jingle cruise for those of you who have never been during Christmas time. If you go during uh a Mickey's Very Merriest Christmas party, you will be able to see the Jingle Cruise dad jokes with a holiday twist.
SPEAKER_00Ooh, can't wait. Definitely want to go to that. Number nine. All right, number nine is was walking on the Disney's boardwalk at night between the beach and the yacht club. Yep. The night we went after we went and grabbed dinner at um Plaza Piat.
SPEAKER_02Uh Primo Piato. Yeah, so we were at the Riviera, we went and had dinner. Uh great, great meal. Uh, you what did you end up having there? Oh, you had a like a like their Mediterranean chicken sandwich and a gluten free gluten-free roll. Uh, I got the Italian sandwich and uh the tomato bisque. Great, and uh then we went over and uh the tomato bisque was cold, so I had to throw it into the server's face.
SPEAKER_00I apologize for the no, I didn't but they brought you on a nice creeping hot one.
SPEAKER_02No, it was uh they did give it to me. I was like, man, the soup's cold. They never do that. But then they did within a second, the late the the chef came out like apologized. Here's a new soup. It was uh they were so nice, yeah.
SPEAKER_00But um back to back to my number nine. Oh, yeah.
SPEAKER_02Sorry, I'm just trying to fill it in with the things that we did. There's so much uh uh fun things, but yeah, the boardwalk at night, love it there, yeah. In between the yacht and beach, yeah.
SPEAKER_00And we were just like walking along. We stopped at the the cake bake shop, which was you know a new experience for us. That was great. We got an amazing cake. I got a big gluten-free slice.
SPEAKER_02Oh, yeah, and then Gwendolyn Rogers cake bake shop, usually like a huge weight. There were two people in line. We walked right in. Yeah, I got the cake of the month, which was or seasonal cake that it was all over Instagram, the peanut butter crunch cake. You got the gluten-free cake, which was just like chocolate cake with vanilla frosting.
SPEAKER_00It was very good.
SPEAKER_02And there was like a chocolate, there was like a chocolate like layer. Like a fudge layer fudge, yeah.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, wow.
SPEAKER_02It was uh like even the gluten-free. I'm like, you could not you wouldn't tell no no one could have told like been able to tell that that was gluten. Yeah, there's no way.
SPEAKER_00Um, and then yeah, we were just like walking along afterwards. We didn't eat the cake right then because we had oh, because we had reservations at Beaches and Cream for 10 o'clock. So we were just killing some time walking along the boardwalk. We saw like a comedic acrobat show.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, it was yeah, that was fun. They were doing like it was almost like a uh like a seesaw that's doing like flips on, and it was great. It had just like rain previously, and uh there wasn't a ton of people around, and they got a crowd going, and the lights of the boardwalk. Man, I loved it so much. Yeah, it was it was romantic, it was fun, and those are the types of like cool free things that you get too. You're like, man, this is an experience, yeah. It was on our down day, so that was on our Saturday, which uh we were going back the next day, so we ended up taking those delicious slices of cake out of the plane.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, we didn't eat them until we got home, and they were still fresh and delicious.
SPEAKER_02Delish.
SPEAKER_00And then that was also the night that we we went in um over at the yacht club, we went in their like gift store.
SPEAKER_02Oh, it was at boardwalk, yeah.
SPEAKER_00Oh, yeah, at the boardwalk, yeah. And you had uh had to buy some pin packs because we're searching for that elusive with the figment cupcake.
SPEAKER_02I had almost completed the entire set and uh I was getting down to like the final ones that I needed. I completed it before we left, which was great. But I grabbed a couple of pin packs, uh, you know, a couple of kids that were just like starting to pin trade for the first time.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, so you were like, Oh, here, let me, I'm gonna open my pack so you guys can like watch me, you know, see what I get. So they're all right. I've never seen this before.
SPEAKER_02She was my like eight years old. I'm like, I'm gonna open a pack right in front of you.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, and then they were so cute, and Mitch opened the pack and already had the ones that he got, so he he gave each of the kids one, and the parents were so thankful. And you know, I feel like that was kind of I don't know, it's karma. And listen, yeah, you just feel like giving, and then you're like, you know, getting stuff from strangers you don't know that are like offering you.
SPEAKER_02But I mean, everybody's like wearing a button and everything, like we had buttons on that said, you know, happily ever after. It was our honeymoon, and like we had so much generosity from the cast members, from the strangers, like other Disney adults. And I don't know. I like throughout the week, I had like put some cool pins on the pin boards for trading and just gave that was like the second time I had given like little kids some pins. Here I got extras, here you go. And um, yeah. I mean, I'm not sitting here going like I'm a hero, I gave you no pins.
SPEAKER_00I'm just saying I think there's something that Disney does to you in the yeah, it just makes you want to like pay it forward because when we were at Epcot the one day, the that cast member gave you one of the pins that you were looking for, so yeah. But let's hear your number nine.
SPEAKER_02Now, my number nine happened at the same time right before mine. My number nine is basically the Riviera Resort. We went there a few times. I think that they have the best food going at any resort. Uh, uh, you know, for me, I think Primo Piato is the greatest quick service that Disney's ever come up with. Uh, if you're gonna get Plen eggs in the morning, their French toast, their amazing sandwiches, that Italian sandwich is such a great deal. It comes with a side. I get the that that tomato bisque. Uh, they got parmesan truffle fries that are amazing, and then uh their gift shop is cool, their pool deck is awesome to look at. They've got an outdoor giant chess board, and and just the vibe's cool. There's gelato outside, and then Topolino's Terrace. What an amazing experience we had at Topolino's Terrace. And it's just, I don't know. It is one of my dream resorts. Some of these resorts you go and you hang out, and you're like, whoa, it's awesome there. So I yeah, it was very, very beautiful. Yeah, I mean, we went multiple times to that resort. I have to give props to the Riviera resort. That is my number nine.
SPEAKER_00All right, let's you want to hear my number eight? Go ahead, you're up. Okay, um, so my number eight was when we went to the beacon barrel and the delicious griddle corn cake that we had.
SPEAKER_02So is it the corn cake or the beacon barrel? It's the whole thing. It's a beacon barrel, right? Yeah, the beacon barrel, which my god, we had so much fun at the beacon barrel. Yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, it was a great time. They had like good drinks, we had a couple mocktails, we had they had like some um chips with different dips that were really good. Yeah, creamy cilantro dip and like wow. Oh, yeah, that was good. Yes, pro tip get the creamy cilantro dip on the side with the griddle corn cake.
SPEAKER_02Oh, yeah. Yeah, the chicken, uh, the chicken griddled corn cakes, and then the the funny thing was we had the nicest, we ended up going two times, and uh yeah, there was a uh a cast member that gave us the corn, uh, the roasted corn corn cake, the vegetarian one, and it had poblano peppers. Uh, it was almost better than the chicken one in my mind.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, it was great. I mean, I think they should have just like put the corn on the chicken on the corn.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, it was almost like the corn was marinated in like those kind of street corn flavors, but yeah, yeah. This thing's basically like an arepa, it's just like corn and cheese and chicken and uh yeah, it was delicious.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, it was very filling, it was a good price, it was a good atmosphere, so definitely recommend. Love the beacon barrel.
SPEAKER_02It may be on my list in a different position, so we'll talk about it.
SPEAKER_00Okay, well, let's hear your numero. That's number eight. Is that number eight?
SPEAKER_02Yeah, okay, went right over my head. Uh no, all right. So numero ocho. Uh for me, newfound respect for Animal Kingdom and just that area in Disney. So Animal Kingdom Lodge, we ended up going to, and we went to Animal Kingdom. Uh, you know, we had a great time. We didn't spend a ton of time in that area, but you know, from 7:30 in the morning until noon, we were there, and basically we got to ride Expedition Everest a bunch of times, went on flight of passage, had a great breakfast over at Satulli Canteen where I had the the the beef. We had that frittata and egg, and that that the egg frittard with the chimichuri oak uh fired beef, and there was like a salad. Yeah, the ube cold brew, delish. Ah, the ube cold brew, please. You know, and then we got to go see uh I used to love Tough to be a bug in the Tree of Life, that show that was the bug life show, the uh bugs life show, and then it became a Zootopia uh show, and we went to that awesome, absolutely loved it. We had a great time in that, and then I had never been to Sanaa, and so we took the bus over to Animal Kingdom Lodge, saw a bunch of animals, and we're uh we were able to have that amazing bread service at Sanaa, gluten-free bread service for her, which was great. And you know, we tried some of their uh you know, braised beef with those Indian spices and some chickpeas, and there was uh butter chicken. We had a great meal. I think just the whole Animal Kingdom, Animal Kingdom Lodge. I got newfound respect. I would stay at the Animal Kingdom Lodge. I thought the grounds were beautiful, yeah. The food was great, and uh it's just fun to see some of those resorts. And you know, I was always kind of knocking Animal Kingdom for not having as many rides, but what they do have it is it is special, and they got some great food there right now.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, they really do. I wish we maybe had taken a little more time to like explore some other food options, but definitely on a future trip.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, I think so. I think so. All right, back to you, number seven.
SPEAKER_00Okay, for number seven, it was let me see if you can guess. It was a a ride, it was one that was like my first time going on it. We haven't gone people mover. Well, yes, people mover. I love that one, but this is for this one, it was something very nostalgic for me.
SPEAKER_02Oh, uh Little Mermaid, yes, we waited forever in that line, like it went down when we were uh in line, and then so the the five-minute wait went to about a 25-minute wait.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, but it was worth it because I think when I was a kid that was probably like my favorite Disney movie, and I just like kind of gives you the whole story of the Little Mermaid and just going through there and everything under the sea being able to like sing along with all the different songs and stuff.
SPEAKER_02Oh, you're singing along, go ahead, give me a little bit more uh under the sea. It is great, and I like that you get the uh the entire movie basically in uh in eight minutes, yeah. You know, that Ursula animatronic. Wow, yeah, as big as a VW. It's like crazy. She's moving and shaking. Yeah, it's I think that's a lot of fun. Uh funny enough, my number seven is also a ride. And mine is Tron. Okay, all right, and I I again I think newfound respect for Tron in general. We wrote it a ton of times on this trip. Uh, Tron at Night just hits different. Yeah, it is so much fun. Tron at night is that's it for me. If I'm in Magic Kingdom, we have to do Tron at Night. Yeah, and it I will wait if I have to. It is such a fun ride. Uh, I think before I was like, this thing's too fast, you know.
SPEAKER_00But do we by fast you mean like too like over too quick?
SPEAKER_02Yeah, yeah, yeah. Like it's over too quick. Not too fast, like, yeah, I I could go let's not miles per hour. Let's zoom this thing up, but yeah, uh I it's just over so so quickly, you know, it's under a minute.
SPEAKER_00It is, but like I feel like that's like enough, like for that adrenaline rush, it leaves you like wanting to go on again. We rode in the front twice, yeah. That was definitely recommend that. And we didn't even really have to wait extra for it.
SPEAKER_02No, we're just like, can we wait in the front? And it was like two people ahead of us. Yeah, I don't even want to divulge that on this podcast. Somebody's gonna there goes that strategy, yeah. Uh, but yeah, I think that Tron uh I got a newfound love for Tron. I always knew it was like a great ride, and I'd go back and forth and be like, oh, Space Mountain Better or Tron. I don't know. Like Tron for me on this trip, it was one of the top rides. All right, we're going back to you with number six.
SPEAKER_00Okay, so number six, I feel like this is gonna like make me sound kind of old, but honestly, I think all those people with little kids could be doing this right, where in the middle of the day, just going back to the hotel for a quick like swim, oh yeah, refresh, just to like revive yourself and like and then go back out for the rest of the night. I think that that was great because we did that a couple of times we did that, and I think you almost a couple of times, don't tell everybody that they're gonna think we're no hack it.
SPEAKER_02No, we can hack it, but I think on park hopping, you know, I've got the lightning lanes down so well that we would go back, you know, ride the skyliner back. We stayed a pop century, so you can get right back. You know, I I can leave a park and within 15-20 minutes we're back to the hotel room. Yeah, you know, make sure you're staying in the 40s. If you stay in the 40s uh hotel there, you know, the fours. Um yeah, which is the 60s. Yeah, gotcha. So it's it's the 1960s, is what it is, but it's yeah, but it's the 4,000 block or whatever. Yeah, it's got yeah, that is uh that's where you need to stay. If you stay in that one, you're right next to the Skyliner.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, it's perfect. So I think that you know, if you're in the park all day, then you're like getting a little like hot, sweaty, tired, just pop back to the hotel, take a dip, take a quick dip, and then get back out there.
SPEAKER_02I love it. All right, so we're going to my number six, the boardwalk at night. I loved it. You know, they got the pizza window there, they've got a uh the cake bake shop. There's things to do. The shops are cool, you know. Looking at that lake, it's just it's romantic, it's fun. Uh, they have the the dance hall there that we didn't go to. They used to have jelly rolls, which is a dueling piano bar, but they're bringing more stuff back there. So yeah, that's it. My number six was uh, you know, the same. What was it for you?
SPEAKER_00And then your number that was my number nine.
SPEAKER_02All right. Well, boardwalk at night. We'll be doing that again. We both loved it.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, definitely.
SPEAKER_02All right, over to you. This is is are we into we're into the top five? That's crazy. Okay.
SPEAKER_00All right. So my number five was discovering how much we love the people mover. Wow. It was just I had never been on it before. Had you actually have you been on it before?
SPEAKER_02This no, I always just skipped it. I was like, I don't need to go on the people mover. I got so much things going on. I've gone to Disney World 20 some odd times in the last, you know, 15 years, and I just haven't been.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, and we're like, oh, let's just check it out. And then honestly, it was like great, it was just like relaxing, it moves quicker than you think it's moving by by looking at it. You're outside, then you go inside, you're behind the scenes at Space Mountain.
SPEAKER_02Feet up, it's usually just like their tunnel of love. You kick your feet up, you hang out with the the people you love. Uh, I would definitely put the kids in a different car to me. You know, I don't need them all gymed in with me if I tell them, like, hey, we're a family of five. Uh, I'll say we'll be a family of two, yeah, and they can be a family of three. Yeah, uh, but I would like uh to sneak on food on this thing. I don't think you're supposed to bring on food, and I don't think Disney's listening to this, but I want to sneak food onto this. Yeah, I want like popcorn and a cold brew on this thing. Perfect, perfect, or yeah, something from anti-gravities, maybe a float or something like that. Um, my number five, the Magic Kingdom shows. Okay, yeah, so the Magic Kingdom shows are care for me, like you can call this an attra like an attraction or ride because it moves around, but the carousel progress, Monsters Inc. Laughlore. Love it. Yeah, that's a great one. It's always something new. I want to be that guy at some point. Please, please let me be that guy in that show. I just wait for your moment. I am they've taken my jokes a couple of times, okay. But they just won't call on me, Kim. I want to be that guy one time. Uh then I just, man, the enchanted, well, you know, Walt Disney's enchanted tiki room. Oh, yeah. Favorite of yours. I love it. I just love being in there when it just starts getting all like, you know what I mean? It comes in the like the white lotus theme song at the end. I I I love it in there. You know, it's there's something, it's a vibe to go there and grab some Dole Whip right after, before or after, you know, go Aloha Isle, grab your Dole Whip, get your uh what is that thing? The tropical serenade, grab that, and you know, get yourself into the tiki room. And let's not forget Mickey's Philhar Magic. These are all like uh awesome places to it beat the heat, too.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, for sure. Well, what about like are you considering like the fireworks and um like their other like parades and stuff for their shows?
SPEAKER_02Or sure, we can count those too. Like everything, I think all of the that that type of entertainment there. The Starlight Parade for me is like something new that I just absolutely love. Yeah, yeah, it's definitely a good one.
SPEAKER_00It's a I don't love parades, but I do love that.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, I'm not I'm not a huge parade guy, but that starlight parade, that and then the Halloween parade. If you ever get to a Halloween party, oh man, that parade's pretty good. Yeah, uh, it was cool. We were on the people mover and we got to see uh like the regular parade, and we saw the maleficent dragon blowing fire while we were on the people mover, like, oh, there's a parade, it's happening right now. Oh, perfect. Let's see that thing blow fire. Nice, nice. All right, so that was my number five. Go ahead.
SPEAKER_00All right, so for my number four, I would have to say it was riding the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train late night as the fireworks were going off. I mean, that was just like the perfect like ride because like that roller coaster is decent. I feel like I do definitely like it more at night than riding it during the day.
SPEAKER_02I like it more than Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, but I haven't been on Big Thunder in a while. It's been down forever, so we'll see.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, and then just as we were like halfway through, the fireworks started going off, and yeah, it was great.
SPEAKER_02We went into like a round a curve, a tunnel, then all we come out, the fireworks are still going off. It was magical. Absolutely love that. Is it over to me now? Yeah, how about your number four? My number four is the Hollywood Tower of Terror. Love it. Yeah, I love it. Uh, it's probably the ride that I've ridden the most at Walt Disney World, and this time was you know no different. We went on it a bunch of times, it was great. Even even waiting in line for it was fine. I know you got a little uh annoyed that they were only running it at half capacity for a little while, they had to try to fix it, but uh yeah, I love it. I think every time is different. We got the thing where we started not noticing where the camera was, and we were like posing, mugging for the slow motion, and it's just so fun. It's it's a ride for me where I think they've got it like perfect, like the theme where where immersive cast members and theming meets the ride perfectly. Yeah, I can just kind of hang out over there all day. I love it.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, it's great when you have like the ride operator that's like telling you the instructions and stuff, it's very like deadpan and like creepy. Enjoy your ride.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, yeah, yeah. I love it. Yeah, so that's when number four. All right, we're here we go.
SPEAKER_00Top three. Okay, so for number three, I'm gonna have to say is when we decided to pivot and go to Topolino's Terrace for an amazing meal, and also we got to see the Epcot fireworks while we were while while we were there dining. Oh, that was great.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, I love Taylor and her recommendations changed our lives. We got that soul.
SPEAKER_00The soul that was so good, yeah.
SPEAKER_02What a fun time. I think Topolino's Terrace was so much fun. Yeah, and and like we were gonna go there originally for a breakfast, like a later breakfast, and we didn't end up doing that. You know, being flexible in this adult trip had a lot of you know advantages, and that was one of them just pivoting that night and going like okay, yeah, and some of those moments just turned out to be like really amazing. So we were gonna stay in Epcot and go to Le Celier, and we just decided to not do that, yeah. Which is okay. I gotta get that. I've never been to Le Celier sometime, one day we'll get there.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, all right, yes, an amazing meal, amazing experience.
SPEAKER_02All right, so my number three is going to be the beak and barrel.
unknownAll right.
SPEAKER_02I I I ended up loving the beak and barrel. Uh, I didn't think I was gonna like this lounge as much as I did. Uh, our first we went there twice. The first seat that we got, I was like, man, they put us in a captain. They're like, oh, it's the captain's corner. Yeah, and I was like, it was a corner with like two chairs and like a crappy table where I couldn't even like try to eat the food. And I was like next to an exit sign, like, yeah, the captain ain't living. But uh the food came out and it was great. And uh Diet Coke in a copper mug oh my god changed my life. The molecular structure of that was completely changed to the point where I was like, Oh my gosh, what is this? What is this concoction?
SPEAKER_00It's just like ice cold with no ice in it.
SPEAKER_02No, like how do they do that? Perfect. That griddled corn cake, uh, the shows, the parrot, the songs, the the two ships in a bottle that are fighting each other and one sinks, you know, like how are they doing all this? It was so immersive and fun. And I have a soft spot for Pirates of the Caribbean. You know me. I want to smell pirate water, but yeah, so beacon barrel is my number three.
SPEAKER_00All right, let's get to my top two. Here we go. Okay, so for number two, this is when we went to Magic Kingdom. I think it was around probably not even before 9 a.m. We just decided to sleep in a little bit. We're like, we'll get there when we get there. And as soon as we got to the park, we decided to walk over to Tomorrowland. We saw that Tron only had like a 35-minute wait, so we're like, let's go. Yeah, so we went right to the straight to the ride. Took probably less than 30 minutes. We got the front row, 20 minute wait, man. Our matching Mickey Hawaiian shirts on from Roosevelts.
SPEAKER_02Roosevelts, if you're listening, we love your stuff. Yes, please are us. We will I will keep wearing matching. That was funny, like wearing matching outfits. I've never done that before in my life.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, it was so fun. And like everybody was like commenting on it. So I feel like we just like started the day with straight adrenaline and it was like amazing, and just like set the tone for the rest of the day. And then I think we ended up going on Tron two more times that day. Yeah, we gotta do because towards the end of the evening, we were um we stopped by the guest relations desk to like uh yeah do some pen trading. And we were just chatting with a guy, and he was super cool. And he was asking us what our favorite ride was at Magic Kingdom. So we both said Tron, and he was like, Oh, how would you guys like to go on it? Have you gone on it today?
SPEAKER_02We said, Yeah, we're like twice. You guys want to go on one more time? Yeah, like yeah, thank you, Luke.
SPEAKER_00We ended up giving him like a lightning lane, so we got to go on that, and it was amazing, yeah. Um, so it's kind of like a tron.
SPEAKER_02This is Tron, basically.
SPEAKER_00No, we're just like really boosting Tron, but it was it was amazing.
SPEAKER_02All right, my number two. You ready for it? Okay, I want to hear it. Pop Century Resort. Okay, I've stayed at the contemporary, the Polynesian, Caribbean beach. I've stayed all over the place. Beach club, art of animation, you know. I've stayed at all these resorts. Pop century for the value that it has and being able to access the Skyliner. Their food court was great, their staff was wonderful. Yeah, Sandy. Thank you, Sandy, from the from the UK. Uh uh getting me a couple of pins that I needed and trading with me. Uh uh, Brennan there. We had a couple of issues with the room quickly. This made everything right. They had amazing staff. The food court was awesome. They got that peanut butter and jelly croissant. That thing was really good. And now they I left, and now they have a cookie butter croissant, so now I have to go back. I have to go back to Pop Century. Their pool awesome. Yeah, that's great. I think you get a lot of theming for not a lot of money. You know, it's okay. The room was fine, the room was perfect. I think the bathrooms are nicer in there than they were in Caribbean Beach. Yeah, yeah, you know, yeah. So I think that for me, Pop Century added a huge value. It was so easy to be able to go to Epcot, you know, the Riviera, go to Hollywood Studios.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, it was super convenient. They also had like shuttles, like every like 10 minutes to Magic Kingdom and Disney Springs, Animal Kingdom.
SPEAKER_02I mean, the bus schedule was great. They accommodate a lot of people there. It didn't feel very crowded, even though I'm sure they were almost at capacity. And I loved it. I would go back there in a heartbeat. I think that it is an awesome value, you know. For your money, that's it for me. Like, I would go again in a heartbeat. Love pop century. It's okay. Sometimes you gotta go Polynesian, but it's all right if the budget is in pop because you're still gonna have fun, you know.
SPEAKER_00All right, here's my number one. Let's do a drum roll. All right, so I'm gonna have to say that the first couple hours that we got to Disney for our honeymoon, we went right to the California Grill. We had an amazing dinner. We got to see the Magic Kingdom fireworks. It was just like truly a magical experience.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, it was great, great meal. And we've kind of gone over that meal before, but yeah, what totally worth it and delicious, like that vibe there. The contemporary's got its own vibe. Like, I've stayed there before, you know, great, great hotel, and um, the food was awesome. It was very romantic for for a date night. What a place.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, and just very accommodating with like me being gluten-free. Yeah, they were you know willing to make like changes to things to make it so that I could eat it, offering us different sushi rolls and things like that.
SPEAKER_02It was uh a great time, and those fireworks were awesome, you know. Standing on that that terrace and just being up there was perfect. We went and watched the whole thing, you know? It was awesome. We had good seats even in the restaurant. We're like, hey, we can walk right out right outside here. And by the time we came back, the dessert was there. Like that awesome dessert was so good. The goat, the blueberry goat cheese cheesecake. Whoa, yeah, and they had like a chocolate flowerless chocolate cake. That was so good. So good. All right, are you ready for my number one?
SPEAKER_00Yes, let's hear it.
SPEAKER_02My number one is gonna be a little bit corny, and I don't like to get this cornball with with uh you know on the podcast, and then always somehow I always get here, but um for me, for me, it was the people, it was the Disney cast members and the other a Disney, uh the other Disney adults that we met. We met so many people on this trip, uh just stopping and opening yourself up to uh you know just saying hi and taking that compliment. Like, oh happy is it your anniversary? We're like, Oh, it's our honeymoon, and and meeting new people. Though that old that that older couple on the bus. Yeah, we saw them at the beginning of the day, then we saw them at the end of the day. Uh every cast member that tried to make special things happen for us, from Luke to Sandy, and you know, there was uh Bailey over in uh in Disney Springs who helped me get a pin while we're getting afogados, and just everybody really went out of their way. And you know, everywhere we went, how about that that couple from the UK? Yeah uh that was over at the beach club, and we sat there and talked to them. We're like, Oh, we got a podcast, and she's like, Oh, I do social media, like this, this type of stuff. And yeah, we sat there and talked to her for 15 minutes and him, and it was it was awesome, you know. It it um it's usually not my thing. Like I perform comedy or whatever, and I'm extroverted in that way, but when I'm you know out trying to do something, I'm usually not like trying to sit down on a bench and be like, hey, you know, those those look like comfortable shoes, you know, trying to be like forced, you know, like like striking up a conversation or something. But yeah, I don't know. On this last trip, I really found a newfound love for my people. Yeah, you know, these were my people, they wanted to experience the magic the same way we did, uh, you know, getting all the compliments of us wearing the same clothes and shoes, and like you know, uh yeah, she we had different shorts on, you know.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, but we had the same sneakers, same shirts, and that same day that we rode Tron early later in the day. That that lady commented, Oh, I saw you guys riding Tron in your matching shirt.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, yeah, it was fun. Yeah, it was great. Yeah, that that's my number one, so not to be super corny.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, no, not at all. And I feel like when you're at Disney, you're just you're so happy, and you just want to like kind of project your happiness, and people can tell, and everybody just wants to like you know, say nice things and yeah, I mean, yeah.
SPEAKER_02If you're miserable in Disney, please doing something wrong. Please don't come back, yeah. Go to Universal Studios. Not that there's anything wrong with Universals, but but please, yeah, go to SeaWorld. Go look at fish or something. We don't need this. Uh but yeah, it was it was a great time. Uh, those were our top tens. It was awesome being able to discuss that with you here today in the pod basement together, babe. Uh, I love you so much. I had a fun trip. Uh, for those of you at home, please follow us on our socials. Uh, you can find me at um on Instagram at uh Mitch DoesDisney. Uh uh, we've got uh Here We GoGetaways.com coming.
