SPEAKER_00I would appreciate the confidence. You don't have to actually say it. Um could you also mention a eucalyptus if you're gonna say anything?
SPEAKER_03Okay, cohorts, okay, a little sexy covert.
SPEAKER_00That's my safe word. Eucalyptus Eucalyptus. Okay. Oh my god. Oh yeah. But I'm Trey. Okay, here we go. You almost did it. I'm JJ. I'm Trey.
SPEAKER_03And we're quack at back at it, quack at it again.
SPEAKER_00Ooh, every time. You try so hard every time.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, I do, and I succeed every time.
SPEAKER_00The fuck? Well, Trey, as we always start, how are you doing today?
SPEAKER_03I'm doing pretty good. I'm doing okay. Like, I don't know, I'm a little tired. I did had a little hookup last night. Um that went ran pretty late. Um it was like I said, just having to set shit up and then like it doesn't come through is that how you want it to come through, but it ended up being a good session. Um yeah, we were we were doing we were getting into some things. We did a little we did a little number situation, if you know what I'm saying.
SPEAKER_00I don't actually, what the fuck are you making?
SPEAKER_03Okay, think about it. What's the what's some numbers are using hookups? 336? No 3435 plus 35. 34 plus Yeah. Yeah, we did that. Okay, yeah, we done nasty stuff.
SPEAKER_00Alright, well, um, would you do it again?
SPEAKER_03Absolutely, yeah. I would do it again. Holy shit with him? Yeah, I think I would do it again. He was he was interesting, he wore a mask. I was like, oh.
unknownOkay.
SPEAKER_00I can never do it with I don't know how y'all do it. I can never do a person with a mask. I'm sorry. I need fake.
SPEAKER_03The thing about that is fucking he his Snapchat has his picture in his I don't think he knows this, but I'm like, his Snapchat profile has his face in the picture. Like he has like a public profile and a regular profile. And his public profile, you can see his face. I'm like, nigga, do you not know that? You won't believe what I'm about to tell you.
SPEAKER_00Did you not tell him that that was the thing?
SPEAKER_03No, I didn't tell him that. No. Okay. Well, was he at least cute? He was, he's alright. Yeah, he's cute. Yeah, he's alright. Like, I don't know why. This is so crazy. But at work today, one of my co-workers asked me, um, so this is the she set it up like, okay, so I'm gonna I'm gonna ask you the same thing. I'm gonna ask you the same thing actually this. She was like, This is a personal question, and you can answer it, or you don't have to answer it, but I just want to know. Anxiety already up. Exactly, right? So I'm looking, I'm looking around, like, bitch, what the fuck you about to say? She asked me, so what do you know about skinny dudes?
unknownWhat the fuck?
SPEAKER_03Just like that. She said, What do you know about skinny dudes?
SPEAKER_00Well, we're gay, so we already know.
SPEAKER_03So then I looked and I started laughing. I was like, oh my god.
SPEAKER_00Was she I guess yeah, they have big dicks.
SPEAKER_03What did you say? I said I couldn't say that because we're around children.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_03So like I couldn't say that. So I was like, yeah, I know about them. I know about them. I said something like, usually, typically with skinnier dudes, their situation is, yeah. That's what you said. That's how you said that. Exactly what I said. Their situation. And she was like, Yeah, yeah, yeah. I couldn't say a whole bunch. I could say, yeah, the situation is above average, which is true, because like I said, last night that nigga was skinny. Oh. Nigga was skinny. Okay, but that dick was not. Okay. Dick was love hearing that. Okay. Um I just wonder what that is. Like, why is that a thing? Why is that thing like skinny dudes? They just naturally have like larger penis.
SPEAKER_00I I feel as though it's just like uh enough people have seen it to where it's like, oh, it's commonplace, but it's not actually like a thing. Right. Like, not every every black person or white person has a big or small penis. It's just like people just have people. But I ooh, never mind. You actually might have something.
SPEAKER_03I had a friend who did have a really big penis when I was I think another thing too, like, brings it to mind is like, because we live in North Carolina. We're we're hosted in North Carolina, right? You know now you're two steps closer. I think we've said that before, I think. We probably have it on the fucking shit. There's like how there's always a Chinese restaurant next to a food lion. What? Oh, you ever noticed that? There's always like a food line, especially in North Carolina, right? That's so weird. So I saw a TikTok on it where a guy did the actual fucking research and fucking found all the food lions and found all the Chinese restaurants that are like in a walking distance away from the food lion, right? Okay. And he said, I think he said it was like 70% of the food lions have a Chinese restaurant right next to it in North Carolina. Why? I don't think I got to that part.
SPEAKER_01What do you mean?
SPEAKER_03That's a fucking cliffhanger. I wonder why though. That is a why. That is a good cliffhanger.
SPEAKER_00That's a big why. Like that was my first question after hearing this. Like, okay, this exists. Why? Because this is like a normal thing that I'm I'm thinking in my head is like they they put things in certain places to like get a certain type of people or whatever. Yeah, like that.
SPEAKER_03So it's just like yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_00So it's like, you know, you would probably find a uh McDonald's closer to like lower income housing or whatever, that sort of thing.
SPEAKER_03And so I'm like thinking like with this food line Chinese place, what's the I don't think he I don't know if he said the correlation or there just wasn't one or not. I don't know. That'd be a crazy ass coincidence. It yeah, but apparently, like I said, in North Carolina specifically, it was like 70% of food lines have a Chinese restaurant next to them. I think Virginia, it was like 60%, and then South Carolina, I think it was like next to like 50%, something like that. So it's where all the food lines are, like in the South, most of them are connected to food lines, especially North Carolina, which is crazy. What does that mean? It's probably some fucking racism. It's probably it probably is some fucking bullshit. They thought, oh, okay, all these N-words are about to go to this food line. Well, might as well swing on by and get some Chinese food. It's probably something like that. I know it is probably.
SPEAKER_00I wouldn't put it past anybody, but like I just need to know like specifically why Chinese food. Yeah. Like that's where it's like, okay, you could have picked anything. Why Chinese? I don't know.
SPEAKER_03I guess it I don't know.
SPEAKER_00Um I will say, but your story about the whole going back to that after that whole tangent. Um, your story about your skinny dudes. Yes. Yeah. So is that what she meant? Yes. So she was talking to you. What else are you talking about with skinny dudes? What does it provide? Girl, she could have been just speaking words and then was like, oh, I meant to say skinny dudes are usually trouble problematic or something. No, that's no, no, no. She was talking about PPE. Is she like, I won't I don't want to say close close, like close, oh, she know you, know you, but like Well, I told him I went to Pride.
SPEAKER_03That was like that was the first, like, I think big confirmation for them when I told them that I was gonna go to Pride.
SPEAKER_00Oh, you just you're you're the fag we thought you were. Okay.
SPEAKER_03Not the fag.
SPEAKER_00Bag it up.
SPEAKER_03Bag it up. I'm sorry. I'm sorry. Fucking punk. Oh. Isn't that that word for like women? No, it's a punk. What is a punk? Is that P-O or P-H? P-O-N-K. People say like punk, but it's like really a punk. Okay. Yeah, I mean it's a derogatory term usually used towards gay people. For like what, people who are like homophobic but also like gay or something? No. Sometimes, but most of the time it's usually homophobic.
SPEAKER_00I mean, they're probably homophobic, right? Is it like towards homophobic people in general? No, it's not towards homophobic people, it's towards gay people. No, like I mean funk. Like funk, like, like it's it's for gay people. Like funk is for gay people. Punk. Punk, P-O-K.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, so this is gonna be this is a great topic that we're talking about. We just I'm just leading it to our topic today.
SPEAKER_01Not even is it our topic then?
SPEAKER_03This is our topic. This is a part of our topic, okay. Because it's about social media. Okay, gotcha. And how you're not on social media, so you don't you're not aware.
SPEAKER_00That's kind of true. I mean, the only thing I use. Okay, so the last two years, uh I a couple years ago, I took a vow to myself to where it's like, okay, I have a personal project I want to get done, and I won't go back on socials because I was very much like in tune with it for a while. I won't get back I won't get back on socials until after I complete this project. I haven't done it yet, and of course, it's important, so you know, when I get it done, I'll get it done. But it's been a couple years, and the only thing I've really mainly used has been just like YouTube and Pinterest. Like those have been my two go-tos whenever I'm on my phone. Um, of course, I've you know done some things where I'm like, oh, I guess I gotta go Instagram to get this link or this sort of thing, yada yada. But I'm never like scrolling or anything like that.
SPEAKER_03I'm just not gym scrolling, y'all.
SPEAKER_00He's yeah, I'm just on there to do my thing, get out. Like, I think the last thing I did with any of my profiles was like make my make one of my profiles public because people kept following me, and then my profile would just have oh, you this person is a follow request. Yeah. And that was because I used to be on Grinder. Oh yeah.
SPEAKER_03So yeah. He's better than y'all because he doesn't fucking go on social media like that.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, everyone always has that idea that you're animation.
SPEAKER_00That's the everyone always has this idea that your life's gonna be way better when you're off socials. Bitch, you're gonna be the same person you are. I guess you're the same person.
SPEAKER_03You're just not I think you're just not you and but just in general. You don't have to, you're not sucked up into all the rigma roll of what social media is in the internet. Rigmarole, yeah. Yeah, the rigmarole, the rigor. The rigmarole. The rigmarole. Because it is a lot, like it's a lot, like constantly like comparing yourself to other people, like that's the negative side of social media, like constantly comparing yourself to other people and getting obsessed with them, jealousy, envy, that starts to come up as you like are like so engulfed with social media. Yeah. Um miasma. Social media. Okay. Do you even know what miasma is? I vaguely recall what it means. Here we go again. Part two.
SPEAKER_00You use the words, don't even know the fucking the meaning of it. I I basically know what it means. What is it? It means a collection of something bad, I'm sure. I think it's a badass smell, I think. What? No. A smell?
SPEAKER_03Let's fuck it up, bitch. If it's a smell, I don't want to fucking do that. Let's fuck it up.
SPEAKER_00My ass was just a it's such a fun word to say, though. I'm not gonna lie. Have you ever said the word? My ass, yes.
SPEAKER_03A heavy, unpleasant vapor or a bad smell. There's gonna be like two meanings to that. There's no meaning. Figurative sense, an oppressive or harmful atmosphere that surrounds a place.
SPEAKER_01Yes! Yes! It applied! Okay. Did it really apply? Yeah!
SPEAKER_00Okay, well, anyways. Anyway, then my asthma actually of social media. Oh, well. Because you were just describing how it was a threatening atmosphere to be around because of how it affects your mental for like envy and shit. Okay. Okay.
SPEAKER_03Eat my ass. I'll give it to you eat you, my asthma. I'll give it to you a little bit. Okay, we'll continue. But yeah, like you said, the negative effects of social media that are harmful, especially like in children, like just little kids, like comparing themselves to other kids and not growing into their own. Because like I said, social media, you see the the good parts, you see the best parts of somebody on social media. I just say it depends on the app though.
SPEAKER_00Well, yeah, I'm when you say in social media, I'm instantly thinking of Instagram, so it could be like other things. Yeah.
SPEAKER_03I feel like with Instagram, it's all more about the aesthetic and looking neat and all this jazz. Like if you went and you want a specific perfect image to be portrayed on Instagram.
SPEAKER_00I don't know how many people I don't know how many people who actually achieve that, but like, you know.
SPEAKER_03But like, you know, like the major influencers and the content creators, like their that's their whole job is for aesthetics. They're looking good. Looking good and yeah, so just be admirable and be able to like to get likes and stuff.
SPEAKER_00Um Yeah, yeah, yeah. Which that's Instagram, but like there's other the other ones you're referring to.
SPEAKER_03Right. So like I feel like with YouTube, YouTube is more, I think it's become more like if you like if you're like into YouTube, it's more for like entertainment and like um informational stuff. Like you can watch documentaries on YouTube, you can watch like full uh full form analysis analysis. Right, like longer forms. Like long form content just for the sake of just like I just want to sit and watch the video, or I want to sit and have it listening in the background, playing in the background. Blackground. Blackground, hell the background. Gotta start somewhere. Speaking of that, we should put this in the atmosphere so we don't fucking forget. When we get next season, we need to decorate this. Because you said it.
SPEAKER_00I remember and I wasn't gonna actually jump off of that either. So I'm like, as soon as we get done um doing season one, I did want to decorate a little bit, just like have something that shows off, you know, that we're our own podcast. Right. I probably spend like at least 15 minutes actually like organizing everything, putting it up, taking it out, but you know just to have the have us look a little good, you know? A little more neat, a little more aesthetic.
SPEAKER_01A little more aesthetic. Yeah, okay. Yeah, a little more aesthetic.
SPEAKER_00Right. Uh, but yeah, that's that. Um what were you saying though? So YouTube, long form content. Long form content. Like, you know, you go there, you have your little places, your people that you watch. Um personally, for me as a person who is gay who play game who plays games, um, there are playthroughs, you know, like like you watch a playthrough of something, and that's a long-form piece of content. And currently, most popularly, is like streamers from Twitch, they've come down to YouTube and like they don't stream on um YouTube, but they like show the highlights and stuff like that on their YouTube. Right. And people have like long-form content that way. I'm recently watching like a playthrough of uh Persona 5 from a guy named Jorge. He's really funny, he's a gay content creator, and uh he's just he's just hilarious. He's played a bunch of different games currently, and I think I watched him play like Minecraft Framework a while back, but yeah, he's he's funny, and he's just he's just one of the girlies. Like it's it is nice to really watch a girl a girl. Oh like why watch somebody play a game that you've already been a part of that you've already known about and just see their whole new experience. Like, that's why I watch playthroughs. But yes, that's another piece of long form content on YouTube. Long form content. Other girls go for I need to stop preferring to everyone as girls, apparently.
SPEAKER_03Right, because I don't want to offend nobody.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. But there's also like makeup tutorials, things you can learn.
SPEAKER_03Oh my gosh, I don't even oh my god, I forgot about that. Fucking Jackie Ina.
unknownWho the fuck is that?
SPEAKER_03She's not a I don't think she's queer, but she is um a um makeup artist. Uh-huh. And she she that's how she got her start doing makeup on YouTube. Oh, really? She transitioned into doing like more TikTok stuff because TikTok now is a um and not a lot of people are watching. Well, there are still there is still a market for like long form content, but it's starting to move towards short form content in the TikToks like how it used to be TikTok used to be really short, like five seconds? Right, it used to be like that. Used to be like Vine, like it went to a minute, and then now it goes to ten minutes. So now you have a max of ten minutes.
SPEAKER_00Is that the short form content now?
SPEAKER_03That's I mean, it's shorter than a YouTube video. Yeah, well, quotations, but yes. But that's the standard now. That's that's the standard. TikTok has set the standard for a lot of stuff.
SPEAKER_00Gotcha, and that's so interesting. Okay, so first off, you we have said this before on the podcast. I hate TikTok. I hate TikTok's influence on um all the social girl.
SPEAKER_03Girl, I have to say words. I have to say words right now. You freestyling. I'm not gonna do that while you over here in the mic freestyling.
SPEAKER_01I gotta hear.
SPEAKER_03Freestyling. Freestyling. Bitch, why you hate this why talk your shit about your beef with fucking TikTok?
SPEAKER_00Well, you're in the background. Yeah. Fucking motorcycle ass. Right. Okay, anyways, look, TikTok has affected a lot of social media to the point where it's like YouTube has its shorts, Instagram has its reels, from what I understand. Yeah. Everything is trying to follow that vibe, that trend. And this is not the first time this has happened. There have been other times where um social medias have their little little things and they kind of follow along, like stories from one thing like spread it to other things. And I think like that wasn't a thing on Twitter before, but then it became a thing on Twitter at one point, and then you know others other things follow suit. Uh I just I ever since TikTok first became a thing, I just didn't like it. And I think I I think at still at at early on, like as soon as I like knew it was a thing that became a thing, I I I understood I didn't like it. Okay. And um why don't you like it? I'm about to actually explain that. So, well, before I love being a hater for things for no reason. I love having my reasons for actually hating things. Um, but there are things where I'll be like, you're popular, I don't like you. That's it. Like that's why I don't play Fortnite type shit. Like that's okay, I'm lucky like that too. Like, I will just be petty because it's just like, oh dang, I don't I don't wanna. Sorry. It's good it's good to have the type of uh autonomy to just do shit because you want to. But um, yeah, no. Right now though, TikTok and Twitter, they have become problematic. Damn, Twitter too, Twitter can get to smoke. Like, okay, so you're not, I don't know if you're gonna fully understand this. Well, no, no, you can, because it's in other things too. But for me, I'm a I'm a guy who loves fandoms. I'm a I'm into a lot of different things, a lot of different shows, cartoons, games. We have our things. We have the which are called fandoms, our little things. And with a fandom, you're a fan of something, and some person's a fan of something, and you guys, there's a bunch of people like you, and you guys do things. People make fan art, all this jazz. And in the earlier days of our society, the earlier internet days, that was something that was kind of pure. It was still nasty to its own degree, you know, like oh shit, someone's always being spiteful, so like, oh, I don't like how this character ruined this part of the story for me. That type shit. But like, so every fandom has its discourse, like there are things that you talk you talk about in the fandom that are like problematic or controversial. And nowadays, because most people are on Twitter or TikTok, and I believe everyone's saying that they came from Tumblr, like people came from Tumblr and then started spreading their hate that way. But people on Twitter, on TikTok, they're hateful, like hateful of everything. If you're if your fandom or if your thing that you're into is suddenly like promoted and everyone knows about it, someone's gonna talk about it, someone's gonna talk shit about it, and it's gonna be like the talk of the town. And what irritates me the fucking most is that YouTubers fucking love that shit. They love promoting that shit everywhere. The negativity. Yes! And I'm like, okay, I know this one opinion. He's the people in the videos are like, oh, the internet's talking about this. Bitch, you're talking about damn Twitter. The internet ain't say shit. There are two people on Twitter who made two popular posts about this one thing. You know, like the internet's talking about this. Shut up. Shut the fuck up. You're pissing me off. Either way, so like, usually negative opinions from Twitter and TikTok get like attention and then it's spread onto YouTube. These places are these places get most of the news first, and it's just spread on YouTube, and it becomes a problem. And it's just like, now you've made this whole space where all we're talking about is this stupid shit that nobody cares about. People who are new to the fandom, they're gonna see their shit, they're gonna jump onto their shit and not even know what the fuck they're talking about, making their own opinions about shit. It's annoying as fuck. I have done this so many times, and it's uh it's not just a One fandom or two fandom thing. This is an internet thing because I it doesn't matter what I'm into. If I'm talking about Super Mario or Sonic, or if I'm talking about like Bridgerton or uh the Breaking Bad, like bitches are annoying. Okay, Breaking Bad's fandom actually is pretty chill from what I have gone through. But bitches are annoying because of just like how hateful they are. And these people might not even be in the fucking fandom. They just have these fucking opinions, like, ugh, why is this character in there? Why is this girl here? Like saying stupid shit. And it just begets popular and it's pissing me off. That's that's my main thing.
SPEAKER_03I think it's become interesting because now it is people have said like internet is like the town square Salem or something. No, where you just say whatever you want to. Oh. Like freedom of speech. This is the freedom of speech moment, right? The place, right? Right. So like I hear you when I say, when you say like the negativity gets like highlighted and promoted. A lot of I don't know what that is, but a lot of the times people we feed off of that. I don't know why. I don't know why. I um it's that thing. Just remind me of something that happened today at work. Oh, is that social media related? It is well, it's not social media related, but it's negatively related. This girl, I'm not gonna talk about the specifics of it because it was a lot. But this girl basically just lied about her situation and what she went through, kinda. She kinda lied. She kinda lied. She kind of told the truth, but she kinda lied at the same time. Okay. Where she lied about her situation, about what she was going through at home. This is a student or a teacher? She's a student. Okay. She lied about what she was going through at home to get more attention. Like, and it was negative attention. Like it was like a negative, what she was lying about. I'm not gonna go into specifically what she was lying about, but she was lying about something and it was very negative, like saying she went through this and it was very negative, right? So she was talking about that, and I'm just I just compare it to the negativity and why negativity is amplified. I don't know why she thought that would be a good idea to tell other people to get friends, and I don't understand why negativity is always pushed into the world. Like what?
SPEAKER_00We get at it gets attention.
SPEAKER_03So why does it get attention?
SPEAKER_00It's the same, it's the same thing of like if someone on a social media post said something completely racist, like that's gonna get your attention more than just like, oh, this puppy survived um breaking his leg or something. Like positively, like positive stuff. Like, I don't know, like cutesy stuff. It gets us to a point where we're like, it grabs that the back of your the back of your head type type shit. Where it's like positivity is good and it's like that makes you feel good, but usually it's like if you're the cause of it. When it comes to negativity, like that's like some monkey brain type, I can't describe it in words I want to, monkey brain type shit where it's like you have to stop yourself in order not to interact with this thing because it's like this pisses me off. I want to say something about this, I want to make sure my voice is heard in this degree. But like people don't do that all the time. People don't like think about that all the time, and people just kind of do, people kind of act on how they feel, and more often than not, if you want to get people to move, you say something negative. That's what I was referring to before when we had that whole thing about discussion about like the um voice actor who had said the N-wording that and people bringing that up, and like people who weren't even a fandom were talking about that shit. People were like bringing it up like that sort of thing, and it's like it gets attention.
SPEAKER_03I yeah, it gets attention because there are some things that need to be called out. Yes. And there needs to be some like blatant like disregard for not disregard for human rights, that's a little dramatic. That's a little dramatic. Okay, but there needs to be a call out of of racism. Yeah. If it is happening and going on, it needs to be called out, it needs to be brought to foreign because I feel like why with specifically with racism, because it's so covert sometimes and it's so hidden in the meanings and stuff, it needs to be called out. Microaggression needs to be called out, it needs to be called out for what it is, it needs to be advocated against. Um and so yeah, so I understand what you're saying, like, but I understand that some people like were egging it on just to egg it on. And to get their attention and get their reaction their and their re attention from it. I don't know. But he's but he is now going back to that conversation, he is now facing the consequences of his actions in the meat in the world of internet. Right.
SPEAKER_00Um where they don't forget shit. Now I will say not all examples are that drastic, but you know, whenever it comes to negativity to any degree, that that doesn't get attention just because it's like you have to stop yourself from interacting with this thing. Whereas for the positivity, it's just like a thing you get to just interact with. And I don't know. I don't get it too much, but it just feels as though that's kind of what it is.
SPEAKER_03So I think we we try to be positive on the show. I don't think we get into like any weird negativity stuff. I feel like some things come up where we just discuss them. Yeah, we just give us like our honest opinion about it and just kept it moving.
SPEAKER_00Green Green Eminem, would you fuck her or no?
SPEAKER_03Um Green Eminem, she kinda got that voice, Loki. Yeah, she can kind of get it, yeah.
SPEAKER_00Okay, question real quick, really quick. He's a KDHD. Green Eminem or Brown Eminem? Which one are we picking?
SPEAKER_03Brown Eminem was the one with the glasses, right?
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_03Uh I'm sorry, I know I have glasses, but green Eminem. Those white boots? Well, not she got no she got she doesn't have the white boots on.
SPEAKER_00No, but no, I ignore everything after that. Like, she always has those white boots because she was always bad with them shits on. Um, but Brown Eminem can get it. She's she's she smiles better. I'm sorry. Okay, well. I'm sorry. We know your type.
SPEAKER_03What does that mean? What do you mean by that? Unconvincingly attractive. She is not a I gotta kick your ass talking about my wife like that. Oh, girl, you get the fucking brown.
SPEAKER_00She will come in here. We're about to invite the brownie minimum to come up with it.
SPEAKER_01I haven't invited anybody yet, you bitch!
unknownYou fuck!
SPEAKER_00Anyway, this this fucker. Don't ever talk to my wife again. Eddie, what are we talking about? I don't know. What are we talking about? We were talking about positive content, yeah.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, positive content. To make a positive space. Like, we like I said, this podcast has like taken off, and I love it because we were creating conversation. I feel like we're creating conversation with the other people. Yeah, indeed. People like having dialogues on con. That's why, like I said, I don't know, we talked about a little bit, but like there was an issue, not an issue, but like there was a circumstance where I posted a video about the girly whole girly situation on social media, because yes, we're on topic, bitch.
SPEAKER_04Okay.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, right. We're on topic. You're a part of the topic this. Right, right. So, with that, the reason why I respond to some comments is because, first of all, it helps the algorithm. That's number one. It gets to where it gets pushed out more. The video gets pushed out more.
SPEAKER_00Just like with the negativity, like they were saying.
SPEAKER_03With the negativity. And like I said, it wasn't necessarily just negative. That's number one, just pushing out the algorithm. Number two, adding to the dialogue, because I do want to hear different perspectives. I want to hear what they have to say about what they say because it's interesting to hear people's perspectives about the situation. Uh that was we they had to have heard that one. I know they did. I'm sorry. I know they probably smell it too.
SPEAKER_00Don't say that because I'm gonna start smelling it. Okay.
SPEAKER_03Um, but yeah, like I said, just having those dialogues is what I want this show to be about. Like having those dialogues and those conversations about things that matter to the gays. Not necessarily just the gays, but the careers and black people.
SPEAKER_00People who are a part of our community who care about the show. Yeah. Um, and people who aren't. Sorry. But I snacks. I was gonna say, fuck, I forgot what I thought I was gonna say. It was uh they it was gonna be like, I think it's good to do that just, you know, well, as with everything, just with a moderation. Like I think it's good to do what you do and have different per different perspectives and have people talk about things that don't immediately agree with us. Like, I do not want us to have an echo chamber. I don't want a bunch of people just saying nice things. I want people to actually be thinking, and if they don't agree with us, then that's perfect. Yeah. And I think it's good to interact with that. Just know that there are like gonna be a lot more people than just one the one you that there is that are gonna be saying different things. It's just like, hey, you gotta watch how you interact with social media because it can do some shit to your mental. It it if you get too lost into it, I've heard I've just seen YouTubers and shit and people who just get really lost into their content creation to the point where their opinions are more inclined to their opinions become so warped from what they were that it becomes more inclined to what they know won't get content. Okay. And that's so funny that I keep saying this and I'm thinking about okay. I'm thinking about YouTubers. I'm just thinking about YouTubers. There's this one guy, he's a black YouTuber, and his name is Prestige. And I so I don't know if anyone's gonna know about this. No one's gonna know about this guy. He's a really small YouTuber, he's like super small. He made a controversial uh video about how people who have their online subscription to Nintendo's little thingamajigger, they should cancel it because you y the way Nintendo's treating their consumers, it's unfair. And that video was great. Like it actually was a very informative video because how you how Nintendo was interacting and like giving us less shit for more money, they were making people players, consumers pay more for less content that they're making. And it was just like, yeah, it's very fair that we should stop paying for this thing that they're costing us because you're you're you're charging us this much, and you're on top of that, you need this just to play half the games. And so it's like, okay, yeah, you're right. And he just kind of became the Nintendo hater guy because everyone. Yes. Like he he now is like all on like the vibe of just like always Nintendo hate. And it's just like Oh, like that's what he talks about now. Yes. Oh yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. And it's like, I think he still has some good points in his videos. It's just the way that he portrays it, it's I don't agree with it a lot. Like, I just don't like how like how you say things matters. It'll always matter how you say it more than what you say. That that's that's step one always. And it's all it's also like what he talks about, it isn't just it isn't as productive as it used to be, in my eyes, anyways. Um but it's just seeing that. I I spoke up and commented on one of his like posts he made one time where it was just like, why are you talking about this? Like literally with the fingers. It was it was more like I just commented like, dude, your content didn't used to always be like this. I think you've just kind of become the one thing. He commented on my shit and was like, uh yeah, you're just you're just one of you're another one of those haters who just you know says shit. I'm like, this was an informative comment I put down. I just say shit just to hate on your shit, bro. I didn't respond to him after that. I don't respond to your shit if you hit me with the ignorant shit. You're interested. I leave my comment, and if you have a pr you have an actually like productive comment under it, I might say some shit. But he was on the vibes of just like, oh, you're gonna be put in this circle because all people in this circle say that same exact thing by that's an interesting point you bring up with how people make content trying to conform to what's gonna sell and make them the most money and the most attractive. That's what it feels like.
SPEAKER_03At least it's what it feels like he does. That's because I'm on TikTok and I'm on the TikTok, I'm on content creator TikTok.
SPEAKER_00Is that blue TikTok, red TikTok?
SPEAKER_03Yes, it probably is when you just see a whole bunch of blue shit and see a bunch of red shit. Yes. There's content creator TikTok, there's artists TikTok, I think. One TikTok, two TikTok. TikTok, um, all kinds of bullshit. Green eggs and TikTok? Like it's probably a Dr. Seuss TikTok, Seuss Talk. That's the whole thing about TikTok. Yeah. You have your own algorithm. You wouldn't exactly. That's why it's called a for you page. Okay, girl. That's exactly what it is. You talking shit, but that's exactly what the fuck it is.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, I get it. It's it's interesting.
SPEAKER_03So, anyways, I'm on content creator TikTok. Content talk, as they call it. If you I hope they don't call it that. That sounds stupid. Honestly, I don't even know what they call it, but they probably do, something like that. So it's like that's their whole thing. It's like with TikTok and with content creation, their whole thing is whatever made the most money, whatever got you the most like uh likes and views and comments, keep doing that. Repeat that process over and over and over again. Just keep on doing that. Yeah. And it I I'm not a big content creator, so I can't say whether I agree with it or not because I'm not like I haven't been able to do that.
SPEAKER_00You have to feel that like experience essentially.
SPEAKER_03Right. But I do see what kind of has worked in my favor, but like I don't want to stick to where I'm just making the same video over and over and over again, or like some iteration of the same video over and over again. I don't think I'm gonna get to that point. That's maybe when I get bigger as a concentrator, I might, I might. That's definitely gotta be a TikTok.
SPEAKER_00I mean, it's not specifically a TikTok thing, because people do that same thing on YouTube too. Yeah, on YouTube.
SPEAKER_03They probably do on all it's probably doing on all social media, like whatever works. Oh.
SPEAKER_00What? That's what you mean. Okay, okay. So remember when I you just said people keep making the same video over and over again? Yeah. You remember that one night where I mentioned to you, I made a reference to the girl and how she was, she made that one video about um the song like you go to a black club and they start playing white people music.
SPEAKER_03Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. And then they transition into that.
SPEAKER_01And I thought that was funny, right? Right. And then you kept you showed me more, and I was like, oh, cheese.
SPEAKER_03That's not funny anymore.
SPEAKER_01That's the thing. No if it's to her. Because this demon shit was.
SPEAKER_03But like the thing about TikTok is you're no one most of the time is not gonna be looking at your page, scrolling on your own page. Right. And seeing that you posted 10 videos that are identical in the same nature. The only time people want to fucking do that is when they want to when they want to call out bullshit.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, exactly.
SPEAKER_03When they want to fuck around, when they want to tear another person down for like, why are you making the same fucking video? Bitch, because you kept on fucking looking at it. That's why I made sense.
SPEAKER_00Stop fucking watching it.
SPEAKER_03Right, exactly. So like I think in that regard, I don't know. Like, I just don't I haven't found something that has made me like super viral, so like I wouldn't know like what I would like to make content about. So I'm all not all over the place, but I just do a lot of stuff. Like I do podcastings, I do um my music, I do just random, like I just made a TikTok video about you know Shaka Khan, right? I've heard of her. Okay. She had a you know a the colors performances on YouTube. It's like you know I know about that, because I told you about a couple of the artists I do who were on the Oh, I didn't know you I didn't know.
SPEAKER_00Oh my god. Every time I tell you some shit. I don't give a damn. Anyways, colors, yes.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, so she had a colors performance when she sung Through the Fire. And you know about Shada Khan, she's known for her loud not, I don't want to say loud because I feel like loud has a negative connotation. She's known for a very full and bright voice.
SPEAKER_00You decided to go with a sight thing rather than a sound thing on the side.
SPEAKER_03Because bitch. Right? Bright you can use Bitch, if you was in fucking music, you would fucking know that shit, hoe.
SPEAKER_00Sorry.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, shut the fuck up, ho. I'm talking about anymore. Yeah, exactly. It was a it's a bright, high, not high pitch, but a bright, high sound. Okay. And it's very full and volumeful. Okay. I'm gonna say I don't want to say loud because I feel like loud.
SPEAKER_00Volumeful. It's very volumeful. I was trying to think of words while you were saying that. I was like, I guess he got me on something.
SPEAKER_03So on the colors performance, she has this one like lick where she's just like just hollering like ah like she just that. So then I made that a TikTok. No, I didn't make it into a tissue sound, but I used that TikTok sound, and I was like, I just had the it was very simple. I just said I was laying in bed with my bonnet on, glasses on, whatever, and I just had the caption. What? Pretty as fuck. Right. I just had the caption my new alarm, and then I had I was asleep. I was asleep like this, and all of a sudden, ah, and I woke up, and then like I was like, it was funny. So that's that's my most like that's your video. How many likes? I mean how many videos? Right now, it's how many views? It's probably almost 20,000 views right now.
unknownOkay.
SPEAKER_00That happens a lot on TikTok. Because I had a friend who like did recorded a video about some storm shit a couple years back, and he got like viral off of that shit. Girls were hitting him up, like, oh, is this your video? Oh shit.
SPEAKER_03So it's has 17,000 views, almost 3,000 likes. It is literally my most successful video, and I made it in like five seconds. Like literally. I recorded maybe two takes of me doing it. Like literally two takes. I had two takes of me doing it. I had the idea, I had the sound, like I wanted to, I know I wanted to use the sound. Somehow I wasn't like exactly sure I was gonna use the sound, but I knew I wanted to make the sound I knew I wanted to use the sound. And so when I made it and I used the sound, I was like, oh shit, it's kind of I just I just did it. I thought it was funny. So I just did it. And so that's the thing, like with that, a lot of people like they see what works and they they replicate it, they don't do exactly the same thing. It's like different versions of the different version iterations. I have not reached that form, I have not reached that level of my content creation yet to be doing that type of shit.
SPEAKER_00So yeah, if you wanted to keep getting viral, you should probably do popular sounds and also be waking up to them in the exact same way every time. See, TBAs that might fucking work.
SPEAKER_03But we can do something. Right, you know, May J Blige? Yeah. Oh yeah, shit, that might fucking blow up.
SPEAKER_01Exactly.
SPEAKER_03So that's the thing about TikTok. Like, that's the thing about content creation. You you they tell you, like, the the content creators that are like successful and that are gurus and they give tips on how to be successful content. Right. They tell you because I feel like That they can't see, by the way. You're just like doing quotations a girl. Because I feel like I feel like we're all learning as we go along. Like I don't think there's necessarily a blueprint unless you're like higher up, like in the TikTok game, like you know exactly how the fuck the shit works.
SPEAKER_00Like you're just familiar with the TikTok algorithm and you like just know how to take advantage of it.
SPEAKER_03Right. And I think that there is no access to the blueprint as many people as feel like people they think. Like there's there's we can have theories about what may work, yeah, and all that shit. And sometimes it may work, sometimes it won't work. And it just I guess it just depends on who you are.
SPEAKER_00But yeah, and that same thing applies to YouTube. I very much realize that it's the same exact situation. People have it annoys me to a high degree. But people have figured out like some things that kind of catch people's eyes and make like I don't want to say clickbait because it is related to the video, but that type of shit where it's like clickbaiting and you're like, oh, here's this thumbnail with his bright ass colors using what?
SPEAKER_03Using what? This bright ass background using what? Come on, say it. You want your volume voice? No, I'm talking about it. Say it. What are they used? Click click clickbait? Like what AI.
SPEAKER_00Oh. I wasn't on that. No, no, no. This is just in general. Okay, this is YouTubers in general. People do use AI, and that will always piss me off, right? But people in general just do that shit where it also just pissed me off where you're just like, oh, me being loud as fuck, uh, my whole half my face taking up the camera and shit. Right. You know, whatever, or taking up the thumbnail or whatever. It's it's stupid because I see quality YouTubers who don't do that shit, they get their views. It isn't as much as these other people who do this shit, but they still like make quality content. And it's just it's just nice to see. Cause if I'm being honest, I have ideas of becoming a YouTuber. I'm gonna be very anti-Youtube. I'm not gonna lie. Okay, I'm not gonna have like titles that are like gonna be like, oh, I think this about this thing. Ooh, I wonder if this truck this bad thing is bad. Like everybody's on that shit. I'm gonna be very anti-Youtube. I'm gonna be like, I'm not gonna appeal to your algorithm at all. I'm gonna just do this same looking thumbnail, same look same sounding title type shit. Just you know what to expect if you've watched my videos. If not, then oh well. But that's just like I just I just hate shit like that. There's also there's also a couple other things that you want to mention about YouTube, but I feel like you definitely have some points, your points as well. Oh, that actually reminds me. I don't know if you had thoughts yet, but I'll let you get your thoughts if you had thoughts. I was gonna talk about the AI. Like the I we actually, yeah, we'll probably switch AI for at least a little bit. I don't want to get too we could have a whole episode about AI, I'm not gonna lie. Because it's it's really a lot bigger than just social media. Um, but yeah, AI being used in anything. Apparently on TikTok, It's like this fruit island shit.
SPEAKER_03I don't know a whole lot about it, but I think it's like just a bunch of anima not animatronic. Human anthropomorphic anthropomorphic. There we go. That's the fucking word. Bananas. Bananas and fruit plants and fruits. I guess they're living out these. It's like a real not a reality TV show, but it's like a dramatic as show.
SPEAKER_00It's like Love Island, but with fruit.
SPEAKER_03Right. That's the big thing. I have not seen it before. I've seen like, I think, um screen grabs and screenshots of it. Like scroll. Um but as soon as I see it, either I scroll off of it or it's just not on my TikTok page. I'm like, I don't want to see. I don't like seeing AI on my TikTok page. Right. I wouldn't either. I just don't like seeing it. So when I see it, I kind of just scroll past it very quickly. Um because it just like it just looks off. Yeah, it's uncanny. It just looks weird and off. Like like I said, going branding off of social media, but like there was like a Coca-Cola commercial during Christmas. Like you didn't know about this?
SPEAKER_00I actually didn't hear about this yet.
SPEAKER_03Where they made the whole thing off of fucking AI, and you could still see how how off it was, and like the weird shit that didn't really like align right and shit, like it just looked like it just looked out of place in our.
SPEAKER_00It's just seeing that shit and then hearing about that goddamn AI shit. Right, disgusting. Yeah. I always hate it because it's just like it doesn't, it doesn't look good.
SPEAKER_03No, it just looks it's eventually gonna look it's it probably is eventually gonna start looking good. Yes, which we have to admit, you have to be honest. It's gonna start because it's gonna progress, people are gonna get more invested into it, especially now with the Cheeto, he doesn't regulate it. I keep thinking about your I I thought you're talking about actual Cheetos and stuff.
SPEAKER_00I'm talking about I'm not even gonna say that's the shooting. Yeah, we're not saying his name on the podcast, I'm sorry.
SPEAKER_03Um with because it's not regulated, it's just gonna get bigger and better and better and better and better. And like the most of the reason why people want to use AI is because it's cheaper. Like I said, I've it's I've used AI. Oh yeah, we know girl. Okay, girl, back it up. Sorry, I know girl. I know I use AI because it's cheap. Like I've used it on my album covers. Yeah for singles and stuff like that. It's simple. You can use it. It's very simple, you just put it in there and then just in the prompt. The end of it. There it is. That's the end of it for you. Yeah, for specifically. I think with images, it looks a little bit cleaner. It doesn't look as crazy off to me, in my opinion.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. And that's the thing.
SPEAKER_03Like in some cases it's better. But with videos, it kind of looks crazy.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. And that's that's just the right now. I actually have seen um some things that actually have tricked me. That I've like, oh shit, this was AI. I didn't even know it.
SPEAKER_03Oh yeah, those videos are crazy. Like when it's like, is this AI? Ooh. Is this AI ooh? I don't know about these videos you're talking about. Bitch, there's a whole fucking thing. You probably scroll on, not even just like just out in the ether on the internet. Okay. Where it will show like a side-by-side of like two of the same looking things. Like you cutting a Kiwi with a knife. Yeah. And it's like, oh, which one's AI? Ooh, which you can't tell which one do you think is AI? Bitch, I'll be wrong all the fucking time. I'm like, I'm fucked. I'm not gonna lie. Like, damn, I thought the Kiwi hair was a little bit too perfect, but damn.
SPEAKER_00I'm gonna need to see these videos to see if I am literate enough in this.
SPEAKER_03You could probably look up something called like real versus AI or something like that. I feel like you look it up.
SPEAKER_00Um I I will say that no, I'm gonna save this for the next season. Uh-huh. We might have an AI episode just to talk about it, just because it is an actual problem. I don't want to make the episode about this right now. Right. But AI is used by a lot of people who and if they already know, you should already know it's controversial. Either your shit will get seen by people who like it or seen people who don't. Right. And you'll get your hate, you'll get your love, whatever the case may be.
SPEAKER_04Right.
SPEAKER_00Um, I just know that if you use AI, I have a nuanced take on it, but I'm saving that for another episode. But if you use AI in general, you don't respect art and just know from the bottom of my heart, I don't like you. He said, fuck this nigga shit. Like you could, you could be the man of my dreams. Dude, if you fucking use AI, you might be cooked. We're not, I don't even, I'm not tech, you don't get you deserve, you don't deserve a text back.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, so this conversation, I definitely think we should have AI.
SPEAKER_00Save me that for later. Shouldn't have mentioned it because I could have a whole thought process on it.
SPEAKER_03Going back to like there's now with AI, like just using it in social media, now there's like a tag where like, oh, this is AI user-generated media, which is great. At least they're doing that. At least. Because otherwise you just wouldn't know. I think sometimes you just wouldn't know.
SPEAKER_00There are some times where it would be like, oh shit, this would be crazy to just people see this, and then grandmas would see this or something like that. Right, exactly. Like I said, there's a whole bunch of shit. There was a the last mention, I'm I'm done after this with AI, but yeah. Last mention. Uh last year, a very popular video, AI video got went around where it was like a plus-sized woman was on a bridge, and she like fuck it was funny. She had a rock on top of a ranch. She had a rock, she's holding a rock, it's on a bridge, it was a glass bridge, she jumps backwards and breaks the bridge. There are supposedly people on the bridge, and you just watch the phone. I thought the psychopath were laughing at this. No, it was funny, I swear to God. So that was a popular video that went around, and it was popular because people on Facebook saw it and thought it was real. Yeah. And they were like, oh my god, why would this woman do this? Why would anyone do this? There's so many people who died.
SPEAKER_03Like, it's just like Bitch! Mom, it's not real. I tell you sometimes like sometimes my mom, my grandma, I'm like, this is not real. Um I think right, right, right. So like going back to Facebook, like I feel like Facebook is more of a quote unquote outdated social media. Or it's been there. Like, I feel like more like millennials and what's right before millennials, do you know? Bitch, I don't keep track of that. Okay, but that's that's after before millennials. Before millennials, yeah. They're their parents.
SPEAKER_00Baby boom?
SPEAKER_03It's probably either baby boomers or Generation X, something like that. Something like that. I forgot. So them, I think they use Facebook more than our generation, like Gen Z and like the younger millennials. Yeah. I feel like the younger millennials and Gen Z use more Instagram. Right. Used to use more Instagram. And like Snapchat, I think, too. Snapchat.
SPEAKER_00Oh yeah. Snapchat's been a thing uh that's just gotten really like it it's I think it's also losing something. I don't recall, I don't know, but I think it's like losing younger people because of TikTok now.
SPEAKER_03Right, it definitely is. Like it, like I said, because it used to be a thing. I feel like Instagram has become the Gen Z and the Millennials Facebook to where not as many people are using it for what it is. They're not using it as regular social media anymore, they're just kind of it used to be like it used to be like you're on Instagram, you're scrolling on Instagram all the time. Like looking at your feed and like the pictures and shit like that. But now it's TikTok. Right. TikTok is a new social media craze that's been going around, which I wonder like. I wonder what's gonna happen after TikTok. I don't know. I wonder what's gonna happen because it's always it's Facebook and then it's Instagram. Can you stop doing that? You're like these juggling titties. I'm juggling my titties?
SPEAKER_00No, you're just juggling titties, period. Oh somebody else. No, no, no, it's looking like 6'7. Oh, right, right. Because that's a that's a popular social media thing, isn't it? It is. The kids love that. Yeah, yeah, good job.
SPEAKER_03I know that one. Good job, Gen Z. Yay, yeah. Um, but yeah, I just wonder what's gonna happen after um TikTok. Yeah, I but it's not here to stay. Okay.
SPEAKER_00It sounds like it's kind of well, of course things change. So TikTok will eventually be dethroned. Right. Um, but you know, we'll see. It's popular in its right right now, so I can't really see it stopping because it has really it's appealed to that part of your brain where it's like, oh, you don't need to you don't need to try too hard, you don't need to think too hard, just enjoy this. It's the dopamine, just insta dopamine, insta dopamine, that sort of thing. All you need all the time.
SPEAKER_03And I feel like it is a a mix of all the other social medias where I can get aesthetically pleasing content, I can get my quote unquote raunchy content, I can get my negative content, I can get my positive content, I can get my entertaining content, I can get my funny content, I can get my long form now, I guess I get more long form because I can't get it. I can get my my skincare content. I get the skincare routine, book talk, skincare talk. There's different podcasts.
SPEAKER_00There's different talks.
SPEAKER_03Like there is them all in a library, right? Right. Your talks, right? And that's the that's the beauty of TikTok. Like it it just fits so many people. Yeah, it's diverse. TikTok's gonna be here for a long time, I feel like.
SPEAKER_00We'll see. Um okay, before we get into anything else, I did want to actually get back to the negativity thing real quick, as it does relate to a bigger topic that I have been also struggling with when it comes to social medias. Um, so talking about negativity, uh, there are controversies of a lot of different things or whatever, in a lot of different communities or whatnot. Uh something that's really stuck out to me recently. Um are you familiar with people being exposed? Being keep people being cancelled. Okay, yeah. Being canceled. Yeah. So that's been a very, I want to say popular thing for like the last five years? Like people being exposed for like different things that you know are probably they're problematic for or whatever.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, I think like after well, that's been I think people have been canceled before COVID. But like a lot of things start taking off right after COVID because everyone was on social media, everyone was on the apps, like yeah, just looking and examining and like, oh my god, I have nothing else to do, I have to examine what the fuck's on the internet.
SPEAKER_00And there's just like everyone's keeping on YouTube, everyone's keeping track of YouTubers, and that's always been a thing on YouTube, really. Like since since 2016, I believe, where it's always been like, oh, look at this, look at this stupid YouTuber doing this stupid thing or whatever. And like I I didn't really think too much of that sort of content. Like it was popular content that you know everyone would kind of watch. It's like your Cole Burmani 456 type shit, or everyone's seen it. If you're in that, if you're in that space, you've watched their videos. Okay. That sort of thing. Because I have not. Of course you haven't. You're not a Sonic fan, I'm sorry. Um, but I'm more so saying like there are different YouTubers that have done different things. And I have recently uh run into a couple of YouTubers, and that sorry, before I get too straight into that, there that like idea of canceling people, that is a topic. Like that's a topic on you you make a YouTube video about that. About how they're canceled. Yes, about why they're canceled, that sort of thing, that sort of thing. Yeah, yeah, yeah. And that is popular in its own right. That's its own like type of content people make, and people become YouTubers off of that. And I have realized that it's become its own genre of content, and some people do it pretty well, actually, where they fully talk about a situation and fully approach things with the seriousness, seriousness from a full scope and lens. Yes. And they aren't also like saying they aren't putting too much of their own opinion into it more than just putting the information out there. Okay. It's still subjective to some degree, but it is more objective information because of course this person isn't gonna agree with whatever they did. But that it has become its own genre of content. And there are people who do it great and people who do not do it great. And I will say that because of how popular canceling and exposing people has become, a lot of people think they that they can just talk about someone and say things and say whatever because they did a bad thing that everyone doesn't like or whatever. And I have uh run into three, I would say, black YouTubers that I've enjoyed that have kind of fallen into that category where they've done something controversial. One was a part of the artist community and they supported AI. And it was more it is See that's I guess it does get back into it, doesn't it? To give her to give her uh situation a really short one. She wasn't like, oh, AI is here to stay, we should always accept it or whatever. She was more so in the eyes of using it as a tool. Like using it as like, oh, this is what AI made, make a reference of it and then do your own make your own creations, that sort of thing. Right, okay. It's still iffy, and not everything she said was as clean cut, but yeah. So um can I say YouTuber names on here? I feel like we can, yeah. Did I? Prestige. Oh, prestige, but no one's gonna know who the fuck that is. But anyway. Damn, I'm just sorry, sorry, sorry. If you're if you're a Nintendo fan, you probably at least maybe have heard this guy. Anywho, though. So her name is Uwuneko. Um and last, what was it, two years ago, she was exposed for this whole AI thing. People misunderstood what she was saying and whatever, yada yada. That whole thing happened. And I had been watching Uwuneko for a long time. Like, I think, well, maybe like a year before this happened. And she was just a true, like, black YouTuber. Like, she did her shit. She was honest about her shit, just said shit that you would hear from somebody who you were a close friend with. And like the way she spoke and shit. And when this whole controversy happened, she didn't do the thing people usually do where they're just like, oh, I'm gonna stay away, I'm gonna apologize for this, I'm gonna do this, yeah. She did her little double down. She reacted fiercely. And it was not to her, to it was to her detriment. It was to her detriment. Like, like, how does she act?
SPEAKER_03So, like, how does she act in general? Because if you're saying that she's a black YouTuber and she's unapologetic about who she was or who she is, she could you expect her to do the quiet thing and say, Oh, I don't think I'm gonna I'm gonna back up. I I really wouldn't.
SPEAKER_00And I the thing about it is I wouldn't. But these people who saw this controversy and started talking about it, they wouldn't know because they don't watch her videos. So they don't even they don't give a fuck about how she is. She's they just see this as another person who's doubling down. Yeah, a reaction, and they're doubling down on their little uh on their shit. Okay. And I'm not gonna lie, I do not defend her everything. I just understand some things, and I'm like, okay, yeah. I'm gonna say she was problematic for that degree, like how she handled it. She would, when people were asking about it on Twitter, she would just God. She would just send videos of like uh uh drawing a she would just send a drawing of someone shitting on their head or something. I don't know. It's stupid shit, like stupid shit, like spiteful, stupid shit. She would do some spiteful stupid shit. Yes, and she made a whole ass, she's an animator, so she animated and and made a whole ass video talking about the controversy, and it was like crybaby court or something. So she was doubling down double. Yes, okay, cool. Oh girl, this is funny as fuck, but you can't do this. And it was just like seeing her do that and react that way. She later, of course, she didn't apologize more so than just she just talked about it honestly and was like, yeah, so I was feeling this way, and this sort of thing happened. These people are stupid for doing this thing. And there are people who just kind of promote negativity and canceling because they think that if you cancel somebody, you're always in the right. You're always and you've won. Yes, you've won.
SPEAKER_03Yeah.
SPEAKER_00And when I tell you that nothing about the situation pissed me off more than just seeing all these YouTubers who suddenly jumped on this, on this like trend of talking about her. Yes. And oh my god. I would I would watch the videos just to see if I'm like, okay, maybe I got something wrong here. And they sound ignorant as fuck every time. It pissed me off to a high degree. And it was so sad because she was such she I would say she was such a good YouTuber to just watch. Um during the controversy, I had actually um she was doing a live stream, and during the live stream, she was like stuttering out of like, you know, like a nervousness or whatever. She's live streamed before, but this she was talking about the controversy on the live stream, and she just didn't seem okay. And I texted, like, I I made an actual donation so she could see my comment for like 10 minutes or whatever. And she saw it. And I know that she saw it because she was talking something, and then she stopped as soon as she my comment came up, and I was talking about like, dude, whatever is going on, you just need to like take a break, like take a sp step away or whatever. And she didn't she didn't say anything specifically to me about that, but she just saw that comment and just stopped and then kept the live stream going, but it just she stopped talking for a second and it got her eye. And then when she made that video called Cry Baby Court, that's when I made another comment talk talking about her shit, and that's when she actually responded, like, yeah, I saw your comment. I probably should have stopped, and you know, yada yada. And I was like, Oh shit, first off, because oh, you actually okay, um, but also it was just like, dude, she just felt like like a someone I I was friends with, like someone I was really close to, and just seeing her go through all this shit and people reacting the way they did, like she she had her rights in what she was what she was doing. There were rights in what she was doing, how she was reacting, not gonna work at all. You doesn't matter how it doesn't matter how you react to controversy. If you don't react the people the way people want you to react, you're not gonna get it. Being subservient. Yes, you need to be apologetic, right? You need to always be doing this shit. And it's like she wasn't gonna do that, and she doubled down, she explained that in a video, and was like, yeah, no, I'm glad that she stood her ground in that degree. Her whole take about AI, I can't say too much on. I'm like, eh, I don't really agree with that, no, you know, whatever. And how she responded all the way, it's like, no, it's not great. But it was just seeing so many ignorant people talk about this, and then this same thing happened with two other I was gonna say that before I go to them too.
SPEAKER_03Sorry. No, you're fine. Eventually, she she I'm speaking outside of looking in. I was in a situation, I'm not a big content creator, I don't know the shit like that either. I feel like if she just she probably didn't have to apologize, but maybe just take a break from social media, right? Literally, and just not do anything and then just come back and act like nothing happened. There probably would have still been some people saying, oh bitch, we remember, we remember, but eventually, eventually that shit would have been cycled out. Cycle out.
SPEAKER_01It would have been oh-tooth. Oh my god.
SPEAKER_03It would have been cycled out because something else would have fucking happened, some other controversial shit that would have been. All the people who were on that shit would have moved on.
SPEAKER_00Every time.
SPEAKER_03Unless, except for like the actual core fans that would have been like, hey, are you okay? Or hey, we didn't forget about this. We want to make sure you're okay. And literally what I did. The core fans.
SPEAKER_00And you know what fucking pisses me off more? There's people who are like, a year later, this one situation, bitch, you don't give a fuck about this person. And then forget.
SPEAKER_01They keep trying to bring it back up.
SPEAKER_00I'm like, sure, okay. And there were just other two other I won't I won't go as deep into them because their allegations are a bit worse. Oh shit. But um there was a one person recently in the last month or two uh named Jake Neutron, and he did something where he well, he was a pinnacle of like nerdcore community. Like he made songs about nerd shit, he, you know, that sort of thing. Um and he was he's just been a part of so many people's lives, like art lives for a long time. He used to be like really big in the Steven Universe. He made content about that that was actually pretty funny, and he made like a lot of different songs about a lot of different things now. And he got so big to where he now he has his own con. Like he has people working with him and they make their own like con thing. Oh, convention, sorry.
SPEAKER_03Oh, like con, like comic-con. Yes, like a comic con.
SPEAKER_00People come to specifically see content that he's making, he has reveals there and everything. That's that's kind of big. Yes, he got that big.
SPEAKER_03Yeah.
SPEAKER_00And then he recently got exposed for something he didn't like in the past. I don't know what it is. I I don't know if it's true, rather. I'm not gonna say what it is because it is like you shouldn't mention this regardless. But it was something that he apparently did admit to later on in a twit longer or something, and he said, Yes, this is real, this did happen, yada yada yada yada. And it was just like, okay, that is that does that is really serious, that is really bad. I it is one of those things where being PC is really hard because it's like, damn, dude, you actually did a lot, like you're still a core part of like people's lives to some fucking degree. Um, but what got me about what pissed me off about it was kind of like social media. Oh sorry, social media. YouTube being on YouTube, if you were to look up Jake Neutron and this whole drama shit, everybody's on the same vibe as if they as the same before. Like they're making we're making. Videos about this to make fun of this person for doing this silly thing or whatever. We're gonna we're not gonna say the word or whatever because we don't want to get demonetized, but we are gonna say silly words like grape. And I'm like, no. He didn't do that. Whatever I suggested to I did not that's not what happened. But it was more on the terms of just like okay.
SPEAKER_03He said grape, by the way, y'all with a G. Yes. It sounded very unclear. When I heard it from my, I was like, uh grape, grape, grape, grape. Does it sound weird still? Yeah.
SPEAKER_00But either way, I I the first video that will pop up if you look up his name now is like this video with the thumbnail with his profile character happily smiling and then words Drew C P. And that in itself is stupid shit, crazy shit. What was that? I cannot describe what it is. Have you never heard that before though?
SPEAKER_03Drew C P Oh, like he actually drew. Yeah, that's what it was. That's what it yeah C PZ.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, and that's one of the things. And it was like, okay, that's a serious allegation, right? And so I would expect the video that would talk about this to be serious. This n this guy is cracking fucking jokes. Like, he keeps fucking playing this one of the songs he used to make that were that sounded a little cringy or whatever. I'm like, bitch, I want to hear what is happening, and you're over here making stupid ass jokes about this shit. That type of shit where they're making jokes, where they make content and it's about something serious, and they make content and they're more focused on the content part rather than the actual allegations part. Too much for me. That's where it pisses me off.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, that's the thing about content. Like, you if he if his content wasn't serious, you and I think you in general, like you shouldn't, you shouldn't expect for someone to be like, oh, let's be serious about this because it's this instance. Everybody comments making jokes about this shit. Everybody on the job. Yeah, it's nothing to be joking. It's nothing to joke about. Right. It's nothing to joke about. He probably should not have made a video about it at all. White guy. Of course.
SPEAKER_00No, no, no, no, no, did he. No, not what I meant to say. Um, no offense, but like he was a white guy. That was a horrible Ford.
SPEAKER_03That was a different type of completely horrible Freudian slip. Um Freudian slip. That's what that is, right? Yes. Well, relatively, yes. So it's like he probably shouldn't have touched it all, especially like that type of shit.
SPEAKER_00If you're not gonna talk about it seriously, if you're not actually gonna like just approach about it, that's what I'm saying. When people make content about serious allegations and they just kind of like they can't say words because they don't want to get demonetized. Right. But like you can't just do that. You can't just say these soft words to make things sound soft or whatever, to talk about serious things softer. I don't agree with that. One content, sorry, sorry to get sorry to get so deep into it. But a person I watch is Mallie. Um, she's like a she does content about like movies, she talks about movies or whatever. I actually showed you guys that on Charlotte if you remember her. She was a funny little girl talking about uh as of below or something. Oh, okay, yeah, yeah. Yeah, that video. Yeah. She actually does she doesn't say words, but she finds good alternatives to saying bad words. Like, instead of like just saying straight up like, oh, bang bang, she doesn't say stupid shit like bang bang. She actually just says firearm or something like that. Like an actual term to describe the thing instead of something stupid.
SPEAKER_03And that's just I guess it just depends on the lingo. Like, people don't say they say I don't know how to say the other thing. The first thing that came to my mind was like people say they unalive that's something like that. Like some stuff like that. Or that's bad. What's another one? I can't think of any other ones, but like those are those, those that's a big one that I think about whenever I see on. I think it's a matter of it depends on the it depends on the intention. Yeah. Because sometimes some people don't want to hear those types of words because it does change. It is a trigger word. It's a trigger word. And so they use other things like unalive themselves or whatever. Yeah. And so it that's the one instance.
SPEAKER_00But you're saying it's more of like a it just seems it the people who I've seen talk about these things who are like survivors or been through these things, they don't prefer or from what I've seen again, they don't prefer this because it it kind of like not sensationalizes, but it just like infantilizes it. Infantilizes it. It infantilizes it. To where it's like, oh, we can it's a baby term for this actually serious thing. That's what it means. That's what I mean when I say that. Like it's like you're kind of just infantilizing something that's actually serious. And instead of instead of someone saying someone had uh something serious, like, oh, an actual corpse or something, and you're like, fuck, I can't. How can we say these things? You're instead of saying the actual thing, you're saying something silly instead of something like deceased or whatever, or something along those lines. Right. Because this isn't that trigger word. This is a more per I don't want to say professional, more like a proper word for it though. Okay. Instead of making it out of a joke. And it's still well, it depends. It's not making it into a joke in the case. But just trying to soften it up.
SPEAKER_03Because it depends on what she does. She like what was her name? Mally. She probably has the vernacular to be able to say things in a way that doesn't sound that sound like sounds official to where you're not. But it still can be triggered. Like someone hears the word firearm, it's still be triggered.
SPEAKER_00I feel like that's a thing though. With the whole triggering thing, it's like I it's such a thin line to walk. Like, I do not want to trigger someone. I don't want to make someone feel a certain type of way unintentionally. Or intentionally, really. I don't want to I don't want to do that intentionally, regardless of the case. It's just like there's also like a whole community of people on the other side that are just like, we do not prefer a large community of people to be saying this. People who don't experience this to be saying it like this. Yes. Yeah. Like instead of saying grape, you could say something like sexual assault. Or something like that, yeah. Yeah, because I feel like it's it is, yes, it still is that same thing. And that's an idea that that's a thing in your life that kinda ha that kinda happened. And you can't take it back. And I d I do hate to make people feel that way. But I also feel as though if we uh continue to say things like that, it'll become like lingo where it loses its per it loses its meaning. That's where it's like, we know what you're trying to say, but you're saying it in this way, and then suddenly people who shouldn't be saying it at all are saying it because it's so soft, it's not really the word, anyways. So I could just say it anyways. And that's where it's like you start to lose meaning and people start to lose purpose, and it starts like Yeah. And that's why it's dangerous to do that. It's like how people keep misusing the word LARP right now. LARPing? Yes. Like live action role-playing? Yes, that's what it means. And you know people are using LARPing at all.
SPEAKER_03If you're like you have you ever heard of a tourist? Like people who like people that are that are being a tourist in the country and shit?
SPEAKER_00No, like a tourist in a fandom or community. Like, imagine a tourist being in a beehive. Like there are fake fan quotations. This type of shit where it's like, I'm just in this fandom for right now just to be uh part of the big thing that's happening right now. Okay. Like imagine Beyoncé comes up with a new album and everyone loves it, you know, that sort of thing. And then there's this, there's this one guy who says he's been a Beyoncé fan forever, and he comes in and he's like, that's not exactly what LARPing is, but regardless of the case, he comes in and says, Um, I hate this because it's not like her old shit. And then like, bitch, you don't know what you're talking about. And they're referring to people who are like that as LARPing. So like if you were to say that you liked um Tails over Knuckles because you have your reasons or whatever, and I know that I know why Tails is bad and you don't really know why Tails is bad, I would call you a sonic LARP. And that's what people how people are using it nowadays. But Because you are more like I'm more in tune with what's going on with the community than you are. I'm a poser. Yes. Yes.
SPEAKER_03I'm a poser. Exactly that word. So people are saying that as LARPing. Yes! That's interesting. Because I don't know, like when I think of LARP LARPing, I think about like the dungeons, not dragons, but like the medieval shit and like pulling out swords and like literally portraying this time period. L-A-R-P. Just like you said, live action role. That's what I think about. That's what it is. You're saying people are not using it as like a pose or shit?
SPEAKER_00Yes.
SPEAKER_03That's interesting.
SPEAKER_00Stupid. And people and just like that in the internet, things lose meaning. And if you just let words continue to be used, they lose meaning. And so that's why it's important to properly say things rather than just say things to avoid demonetizations or to avoid like stupid shit. Like do it for the reasons that are related to human rights more than related to like other things. Yeah. Sorry, that was a whole tangent. How much time we got? Tap the mic if it's like close. Okay. Sorry. You had probably had your topics too. I'm sorry. No, no, no, no.
SPEAKER_03That was good. I love the conversation that we'd be having. That was that was good. That was my I said all of what I'm mostly what I said. That's the thing about just having a conversation. We're just having a conversation.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, we are having a conversation. I'm sorry. If I get heated. When it comes to art or video games, I get heated. It's good. It's good.
SPEAKER_03It's interesting because people want to see your personal. People want to see what you are about. People want to see these kissable lips. Right. Right, right. So y'all. Y'all. We have two episodes left. Yep. Until the end of season one. Like, can you please? Like we have a season finale coming up. That's gonna be a banger. A banger. A banger. Bringing everybody back. Right.
SPEAKER_01Everybody back for the final episode.
SPEAKER_03Season one, alright? It's the first season for the motherfucking books, okay?
SPEAKER_00We're gonna do a recap so make sure you rewatch all the episodes and get all the jokes we're about to do.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, yeah. It's this man. I'm gonna get too much attention. Did somebody start crying? Yeah, there's no way you're crying on my craft. But like this has been such an interesting ride and journey to say the fucking least. Yeah. Like, I love it. I am so excited to see where this podcast is gonna go to.
SPEAKER_00We have certainly started something, and that is, and I really just thought it was gonna be this you and me just doing our thing, just talking a little bit on a little camera, a little audio type shit. But like the fact people are listening, people have opinions about what we say. Yes, like I appreciate that. I love that. We're almost about to hit 600 downloads. Yes.
SPEAKER_03Yes. We are going. This little show is growing. Oh man, okay. Yeah, let's go. It's gonna do something special. Oh, that's for season two. Whoopsie. Right. Yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_01Stay tuned, though.
SPEAKER_03Stay clocked in. Um, stay quick. Don't know when we're gonna come officially come back, but we are gonna take a break for the fall-ish time. We might come back in the winter, but this is not the last episode yet. Yeah, but you got like two more. Two more episodes left. But we might come back come the fall or just the winter time, sometime like that, just to get our bearings back or whatever. But yeah, we need to take a break, y'all, because we need to fucking um get some more better ideas for you all. Get some guests, some more guests. Oh, yeah. Season two.
SPEAKER_00We already have things in the works, yeah. And I'm so happy. Like we actually are real bitches out here playing. Yes!
SPEAKER_03Fixing some motherfucking connections and building bitches. Yes, we are. Yes, season two exciting. Yeah, season two is gonna be bigger and better. Oh my god. Literally, yeah, exactly. Just like my penis. Okay.
SPEAKER_01You ain't that skinny, huh? Okay. Oh my god.
SPEAKER_00Anyways, all right. But yeah. Uh but yeah. Um, don't forget eucalyptus and follow us on everything.
SPEAKER_03Follow us on our social medias. Um, tip us on coffee. Um tag us in your fucking videos. Oh shit. If you're talking shit, if you're talking shit about us on fucking social media, tag us on it. Tag us.
SPEAKER_00I want to I wanna see shit. I won't I won't say anything bad, I swear.
SPEAKER_03Right, right, right, right. I won't talk about you behind your back. Right. I was gonna say something else. Tip, follow social media. Stay quack. That's not what you're about to say. That's all I was gonna say. But yeah, that's a quack. Okay, that's a quack. Thank you guys for listening. Oh, stream my music. That's all I was gonna say. Girl, stream my music, hoe. We were done! Stream my music, hoe. I don't give a shit. Stream my market. Stream trademarket, hoe. Straight market, oh yeah.
SPEAKER_00Facts are still out. Right, yes. All right, stay silent, bitches. Stay silent. Bye.
SPEAKER_02You're listening to QXCK Radio. Yeah.
