So glad that you could join us for this program of Hope Today. It is going to be such a good time together. May you be encouraged in faith as you listen. Pastor Tom Cullen will be providing the third answer in our series with the question: What difference does the resurrection make? Part of the answer, as we will find out today, is the resurrection means that Christians have something to say. More teaching in this edition of Hope Today. As always, Mac Winkfield will get us started with some wonderful gospel music.

SPEAKER_10

Good morning to you. This is Hope Today. This is Southern Gospel Music. We're getting ready to hear from Pastor Tom. Let's play a song that tells us basically where we're going today. It's the story of Jesus. He bled, he died, he rose. These are the wisnens.

SPEAKER_12

We've heard the great commission to go and spread the word. But sometimes our confession falls short of what we've heard. We need to simplify it and make the message clear. The good news of the gospel is all we need to hear. The reason why you so it's really just that simple.

SPEAKER_10

Well, it all depends whether in fact God has touched my heart and my life through that story. If he is changing me, then I have something to say to somebody else who needs changing. Here's a new journey. Let my words speak of you.

SPEAKER_14

By your word my soul was redeemed. All authority given is written and living. Lord, let it now flow through me. Let my words speak life to the dying.

SPEAKER_05

Let my words speak light to the cloud. Every word that I choose, Lord, I pray you will use for your core. Let my words be the truth. Everything that I say every hour, every day.

SPEAKER_14

Let me tell of your wonders and ways. May the Lord hear the home and be drawn by love spoken to them with compassion and praise. Let my words speak life to the dying.

SPEAKER_05

Let my words beak life to the Lord. Every word that I choose, Lord, I pray you will use world Let my words beat to the trouble. Let my words be gone to that. Every day that I stay, every hour, every day, Lord, let my words be. Let my words be to the trouble. Let my words be God. Every day that I say, every hour, every day.

SPEAKER_10

What do I tell them? God so loved the world that he gave his only son. Whoever would believe us Jesus saved. That's probably the most important thing that you can say to any individual. Here's Mylan Hayes and his family. They will tell us exactly that.

SPEAKER_11

Jesus says, Jesus says, Spread the tides all around.

SPEAKER_05

Jesus says, Jesus says, bear the news to every land. Climb the steeps and cross the waves onwards, our Lord's command.

SPEAKER_08

Jesus Jesus sing above the battle strike. Jesus saves Jesus saves by his death and less alive. Jesus saves Jesus saves.

SPEAKER_02

When the heart for mercy praise, sing it right.

SPEAKER_05

Jesus says, Jesus the mighty voice. Jesus says Jesus nation's marriage. Jesus, Jesus said, I was deep. Jesus said all these birds to be sick. Jesus.

SPEAKER_00

If you're a regular listener of Hope Today, you know that during these weeks following Easter, we are asking the question: what difference does the resurrection make? Stay with us as we explore this wonderful theme today. Here's Kevin Paul's and infinitely more with Crown Him.

SPEAKER_06

Let angels prostrate for.

SPEAKER_17

So hear to him whose grace saves us and crown him wonderful.

SPEAKER_04

Let the angels come Let it we try on this half people.

SPEAKER_00

Bring forth the New Testament book of First Corinthians, the follower of Christ by the name of the Holy Fear. Jesus Christ rose from the dead. If Jesus didn't rise from the dead, then that message isn't true. It means that the world is right, that the aggressive and proud, they're the ones we should emulate because they're the ones who will be victorious in the end. If Christ has not been raised, then we Christians have nothing to say. No truth. Our preaching is useless. But if he did rise from the dead, we have the greatest message the world has ever heard. The enemy's been defeated. Death couldn't hold him down. We're gonna lift our voice in victory with Michael W. Smith and shout unto God.

SPEAKER_05

The enemy is gonna defeat it, and death couldn't hold you down. We're gonna lift our voice and make the people.

SPEAKER_00

That means we have nothing to say. But think of that statement in the positive. If Christ has been raised from the dead, then we have the best news the world has ever heard. We have something more saying. And indeed we see it to be true with the disciples. One of the greatest testimonies to the reality of the resurrection of Jesus. We have a truth that is life giving the free.

SPEAKER_01

Dr. Robert Lowry is a name you will hear often as we discover the stories of these traditional hymns. Born in 1826, Robert accepted Christ as his personal savior at the age of 17 after graduating with honors from Bucknell University and having received his doctorate, he began his pastoral ministry. He pastored several important churches in Philadelphia, New Jersey, New York City, and Brooklyn. Lowry was recognized as a most capable minister of the gospel, possessing keen insight and strong administrative ability. He continued in active Christian ministry until his homegoing in 1899. Music and a knowledge of hymnology were his favorite studies. He composed many hymns and tunes, publishing many songbooks. His hymn, Christ Arose, is an Easter celebratory hymn written in 1874. It was inspired during his devotions one night when Robert read Luke 24, 6 to 8, where the passage records in part He is not here, but is risen. There is a vivid contrast of the verses with their moods of death and refrain with its celebration of Jesus' resurrection. Listen for these dynamics as Celebration Choir present their version of Christ arose.

SPEAKER_00

We have a truth that is life-giving and affirming and is able to turn people from darkness to light, from death to life. Think of all the trivial things that people talk about, hours spent on Facebook and Twitter. But the gospel is all about such a massive truth as life and death. Relating to the living God and the risen Savior. We have something worth sharing with the dying world. We can have saved the world. Everything is a conspiracy. Everything is crooked. Nothing can be trusted. Everything is twisted. And it seeps into our faith. But let me assure you, of all the things in this world that you may doubt, you do not need to doubt the truth of Christ's promises to you. They are made to you by a living, risen Savior, who in his resurrection proves that there is nothing false in him. Here is Mission House with Nothing Left to Do.

SPEAKER_06

There is nothing left to do but run into I am lost if I do not. There is nothing left to do but run into I'm lost the body.

SPEAKER_05

There is nothing left to do I'm running to room. I'm broken iron room, I'm lost by something left to do, but run into rooms. I'm broken iron room, I'm lost by no job There's no salvation There is no living outside of you There is no love There is no fusion There is no freedom outside of you There is no joy There's no salvation There is no living outside of you There's nothing left to do I run into Tri I'm broken I won't I'm lost if I do not There's nothing left to do but running to I'm broken I won't I am lost if I do nothing left to do but run into I'm broken I am wrong I'm lost if I do not there's nothing left to do but run into I am room I'm lost if I do not Our Lord's resurrection makes a difference it means that we Christians have something to say it means that we can trust his promises but it also means that you can have faith in God's presence in your life and this is a great need in our day you know in Acts chapter 1 we read in verse 3 that after Jesus died on the cross and rose again he appeared to the disciples and said the text and many convincing truth that he was alive strange the disciples need many convincing truth that he was alive and many convincing cruise that I mean it was you wouldn't you believe that Jesus showed up when you're dying convincing resurrection you will realize that I am in my father and you are in me and I am in you and this is important if you believe in Jesus Christ he now lives in you so we have this new life of Christ his righteous sinless God-infused life in us and that is only possible if he rose from the dead if he did not rise from the dead then he has no life to give to us but he did rise from the dead and now through faith it is no longer I who live but Christ who lives in me so Andrew Abbott sings he lives there are no words that can express deep inside my chest where the God of all is calm and dwell can I do but give myself come to mend my broken soul can I do but give it all for you I am listening to Hope Today and we're celebrating the truth that Jesus rose from the dead and is alive forevermore here is Allie Matthews singing When I survey the wondrous cross when I survey the wondrous cross on which the Princess of glory died I can't forget saving the dead of Christ my God of the vain I sacred them to his blood see from his hand his sign his feet sorrow and love flow mingle such love and sorrow's command for the rich nature that were a present far too small love so amazing so divided Demands my soul my life my all demands my soul my life my all the late Dr.

SPEAKER_00

James Kennedy of Coral Ridge Presbyterian Church tells of a time when he was sharing his faith with a man who did not believe in Jesus. Dr. Kennedy questioned him saying you don't believe that Jesus is alive from the dead no I don't well then I challenge you to invite him to come in and take over your life and become the savior of your soul and the Lord of your life and nothing will happen everything will happen on the back of the I can't say you just asked the risen Christ to come into your life and then he quoted our Lord Behold I stand at the door and knock. If anyone opens the door I will come into him and that's the ultimate test isn't it the truth of the resurrection makes all the difference in the world but I pray that you would be able to say it makes all the difference in me. He once was dead but now he's alive in me forevermore the Enfield hymn sessions bring us a great hymn celebrating the new life Christ brings in And Can It Be

SPEAKER_05

It be that I should gain an interest in the same pure blood died for me who caused his pain for me who him to death pursue amazing love How can it be that thou my God should die for me? Amazing love how can it be that thou my God should die for me?
