What's up, ladies and gentlemen? Welcome back for another episode of Facts and Foolishness. This is a very special edition because it is Mother's Day. So I know you guys know we usually drop on uh what Thursdays and Fridays, but because you know it's a holiday, we definitely want to celebrate all the mothers out there and give a special shout out to all the mothers. So happy Mother's Day to everyone. Um I think we got a we kind of we got kind of a wide range of uh topics that we're gonna be talking about on this particular uh podcast today because we're talking about mothers, so we're gonna keep everything mom related. Um let's start off with songs, man. You know, it's a lot of it's a lot of Mother's Day songs or songs for moms. It's some epic moms. Man, give give me one, man. Give me one. Man, I mean it gotta be the most iconic. It gotta be the Tupac joke. Tupac mama. Dear mama. See, when I was young, me and my mama had beef. 17 years old, kicked out on the streets. So back at the time, I never thought. Yes, sir. Hey, look, that's gonna be the bruh, that's gonna be played in every car today. Like, you know what I'm saying? That's gonna be played in. That gotta be the that gotta be like, you know what I'm saying? Like he was really talking, but he was really talking in there, bro. Like he gave the good, bad, and ugly of being a mother or being a child of a mother that was present. Like what's that? What's the verse where he said um uh uh something about but mama made miracles everything's giving? Like a true mother that a present and a true mother is gonna make shit happen. So basically, what he was saying is she made miracles, everything's giving. She she took what she had and made something happen. And made something amazing out of it. She made something happen every single time, man. And that like that's a beautiful song, man. And if by some weird reason y'all haven't heard the song Dear Mama by Tupac, get out there, go listen to it, man. What about you though? Um, for me, yeah, there's so many good ones, man. Uh, you didn't even tell me neither. I think I'm gonna go with uh I think I'm gonna go with Boys to Men, a song for Mama. Boys to Men. A song for Mama, yeah. Uh how to how did you start off, man?
SPEAKER_01Hello, we're skipping it inside.
SPEAKER_00Uh-huh. Yeah. That's a that's it's not current. Love and care for me. Yeah, loving songs for me. No, man. It's it's so many great, great uh mom-inspired songs out there. They even got the um that joint was on the soulful, soulful, uh, soulful soundtrack. Yep, yep. Then what about um do you remember that show, Empire? Remember the show Empire? Yeah, I remember Empire. Yeah, it was just just uh Jesse Smole, he dropped one called Mama 2. Like that joint was fired too. For real? Like, yeah. I ain't even I ain't gonna lie, I ain't watched Empire. I think I think my favorite of all time gotta be Dear Mama by Tupac, man. You yeah, you hit the nail on the head with that one. Yeah, yeah. But hey, listen, Boys the Men, you right though, no. I think you like for real, you did for real. Boys the Men, like that was the soundtrack to uh to uh Soul Food. Yeah. And yeah, bro, come on, but Big Mama Dying Man brought the family together. Big mama was the matriarch of the family. Honestly, those two have to be the two best that's out there in general. If you want more of a hip-hop feel, you got Tupac. You want the RB feel, you got Boys and Ventures. Absolutely. And uh, but once again, we want to keep it, keep it going, keep everything mothers, man. We want to talk about give thanks to all the moms, all the beautiful mothers out there. Um, but what's one thing like talking about our moms now? Let's let's let's keep it 100 and talk about our moms, man. Like, give me something that what's something that your mom did or continues to do for you that you value or that you'll never forget, that you'll always cherish? Man, my mom, man, there's a lot of things about my mom that a lot of people love. Like, ain't nobody perfect, like we were talking about on our last episode. But my mom used to always tell me there's there's no script in being a mom. You just gotta go with the flow with things. But man, my mom used to do all kinds of things. Like, you know what I'm saying? My mom used to tell me stories like when I was a kid, like like any mom, you know what I'm saying? We sure we've been through everything, but it's just my mom always kept a roof over my head, I can say that. She always kept a roof over me, no mat no matter how poor we was. Always made shashake. I uh yeah, we always was fed, you know what I'm saying? And I and I see a lot of people had it worse than me. So my mom, yeah, she she she always she always loved me. My mom always tried to show me off and shit. Yeah. My mom always loved us, you know what I'm saying? I can say that. Shout out. How about you? Man, my mom, it's a it's a lot, man. Like being a a a true mother, like it's so many, like, it's the little shit that you're that a mother would do for her kid that a lot of times may go over our heads. So so many people want to focus on the big shit. You know what I'm saying? Like, oh, I remember when she bought me this for Christmas, or she bought me this, she made this happen. That's great. Right. But it's the little shit, like the the love and the nurturing that a mother shows her kids, man. Like, I I know even to this day, like, for people that don't know, like I love one of my favorite fruits is oranges. But I never really eat them because I hate to peel them. Like, if I'm at my mom's house or whatever, and I want to, my mom will peel my orange to this day. For real? Yeah, she will still peel my oranges. That's crazy. She will still peel my oranges for me. And it and this is just obviously I can talk about I can talk about shit that my mom, my mom does, you know what I'm saying? That's dope. That's something that's stuck for me with you since you were. And honestly, I can talk about major shit that my mom does. Like she, you know, I know she's always there for me if I need her, or whatever the case may be, but it's the little shit. That's why I said I wanted to talk about that, because it's the little shit that brothers do because kind of goes over people's heads, you know what I'm saying? And she and she loved doing that for you. Yeah, for sure. For sure. Like I said, you know what I'm saying, just to sit there because she knows I love oranges, but I hate to peel them, so I won't eat one. Even though I love it, that's dope. I don't want to peel the fucking orange, so I won't eat it. Either way, to this day, like if I if I want an orange, my mom will sit there and she will peel, she'll still peel my oranges, man. So you definitely want to shout out both of our mothers, man. You know what I'm saying? Um, you know, special shout out Mother's Day for all the amazing moms out there, man. Love you, mom. You know what I'm saying? Love you, mom as well. And um, but you know, don't wanna don't want to get too get too sad over here. Uh but um the same way there's always an up, there's always a down, you know, there's ups and downs to motherhood. And I kind of want to put a little comedy twist on it. With uh uh let's talk about cinematic mothers. Who is or give me a give me uh give me your worst cinematic mother? It could be any movie, it doesn't matter. Like, what's your worst cinematic movie? Man, when what when you when you asked me earlier, I had to think when when you when you texted me the other day, I had to think about this, but it has got to be the junk from uh Diary of a Mad Black Woman. Remember, she was prostituting her daughter. My mother was a real whore. Yeah. Yo, she was dog, she was letting I think she was letting her boyfriend stuff and let's go. She was letting her boyfriend, she was letting her boyfriend like, oh, yeah, she was yeah, she letting her boyfriend, yeah. She sold uh her daughter, bro. No, that shit crazy. And then was arguing with her about that. She sold her for and when she was at that joint, what she said. Uh she sold me for what you say, she said, and we're not laughing at the situation. We laughed, you know what I'm saying? She was like, um, two dollars and a fix. Something like that. I don't know. I don't know. I got you, I got you beat though. I definitely got you beat with with mom, man. What is it? Monique and Precious. Oh my god, dog. And look, I didn't even think about that. But if y'all have not I did not even think about Monique, did she with an Oscar off that shit? Bro, I don't know. She should have. Because now, first of all, let me give a special shout out to Monique. Because I gotta give you your flowers. Once again, if y'all haven't noticed, you know what I'm saying? We set the flowers up. We wanna, you know, we're giving out our virtual flowers to all the mothers out here. Yeah, um, but uh definitely Monique, man. She's acted her ass off in that chart, man. With precious. If y'all have not seen precious, bro, y'all need to go see see the movie Precious, bro. Bro, you gotta you gotta go see Precious! Get down here, bitch. What you say? What you say, uh, you gonna send uh you gonna send a white bitch to my motherfucking buzzer, talk about some higher education. You're a dummy, bitch. You will never be shit. Don't nobody want you, don't nobody need you. You gonna fuck around and fuck my motherfucking man and have two motherfucking children by and one of them is a goddamn animal, bruh. Like oh, and look, shout out Monique because she dumped the character over this bruh. Like, she definitely uh she definitely did her big one in that, man. Definitely didn't she throw a TV at her fucking head? Bro, she threw everything at her when she was at the top of the steps. Did she throw a TV at her head? You you sing when she threw the baby down when she was calling the baby? She threw the baby down. I think she wants to ask you for that shit for real, bro. That's crazy, bro. You're a dummy bitch. You will never be shit. Don't nobody want you. That shit's crazy, bro. Like, that's a crazy, that's a crazy twist off of uh of Mother's Day. Like I said, we just had to put put a little uh little comedy in there too, man. But uh And happy and happy uh Mother's Day to Monique. And I know she was beefing with her motherfucking kids at one point, but happy, happy uh and a lot of stuff goes on. Um She said mama gotta have a life too. But let once again, that just adds to the mama do gotta have a life though. But mama do gotta have a life. So if y'all niggas living like Jody and shit, y'all niggas better get out than desk. Yeah. But it nobody really talks about how hard motherhood is, bro. Like we from baby boy, that's what I'm talking about. But um, it's so it's not an easy job. Like, we see the shit and it whether it's no script. Yeah, it's no, it's no script tool. I figured out a lot of shit doesn't, you know, and some some mothers don't get only get their flowers on Mother's Day when it's a full-time job. And a lot of the stuff that mothers do goes, you know, unnoticed, if you will. You know what I'm saying? And that's why we definitely wanted to do a special Mother's Day podcast um for all the mothers out there. I hope you kind of get a little kick out of this as well. Um, but definitely want to give you guys your flowers, all the amazing mothers, the present mothers, because some of y'all mothers just ain't worth a damn. But all the present mothers that are out there, true mothers that are there for their children, that that make shit shape, make something out of nothing, man. Special shout out to all of y'all. But while we're on um while we're on the topic of special shout outs, man, like take a moment and and shout out any any any mom that you know, give a special shout out to any mom that stayed, you know, man in your life that you know personally. I'm gonna give a special shout out to man, so many. Um, first of all, my mom, Darcella Moores. Darcella Moores, I love you. Um Tammy, Tammy Moores. Love you to death. Shout out Darcella Moore. That's my auntie. Um, you know what I'm saying? Um, Sherry Stevens was what was I was I used to call her my school mom. PE PE teacher at uh Spicy High.
unknownAmazing.
SPEAKER_00Amazing person, beautiful soul. And um man, so it's a whole lot. I want to give a shout out to uh Tasha Minor, my sister. Shout out Tasha. Um she got she she got five boys. One of one of them is not not here with us anymore. My nephew, love him to death, Ty John Wolfrey. Rest in peace, love you to death, baby. Um shout out to her. She's always been a strong mom. Happy Mother's Day, Tasha. Um, shout out to Ariana Carter, my sister, happy Mother's Day, Casey Carter, my sister, happy Mother's Day. Um all the moms. I'm sorry if I'm missing I'm missing somebody, but Happy Mother's Day to everybody. It's real amazing. Alexis, my girlfriend, happy Mother's Day. It's her first, it's her first her first baby. My first day. Congratulations, bruh. Love you to death. Yeah, man. I gotta um obviously I gotta shout out my mom, Juliette Coleman. Uh special shout out to my mom. And then I really have to give a special shout out to uh my grandmother. My grandmother, Evelyn Tyler. Like that woman raised me for real. You know what I'm saying? Like she raised us since since me has, you know what I'm saying? Like that's that's who really, because you know what I'm saying, parents had to, they got they had to go go to work. You know what I'm saying? My grandmother. Yeah, my grandmother literally raised us coming up through school, you know what I'm saying, made sure that we were fed every day. You know what I'm saying? I and I definitely I thank her for all the love that she's shown me throughout the years. Uh, I thank her for the ass whoopings, you know what I'm saying? On the other episode, I was talking about how she tiptoed behind the door. Grandma ain't played me. Hey, she didn't play, you know what I'm saying? So I definitely want to give a special shout out to to my grandmother, man. I I gotta I gotta shout her out because that was really my second, my second mom. And obviously, like I don't that's why I don't like to name because I know I'm always gonna forget. So there's so many amazing moms out there. And I do want to give a special shout out to anybody who no longer has their mom. You know, like I want to give a shout, because I know when these holidays come around, you know what I'm saying? I know that it's kind of it's kind of sad, you know. And when you don't have your mom, like somebody that's that important, that such a focal point of your life no longer being there has to be devastating, man. I couldn't imagine, man. And I was actually, speaking of which, I was actually gonna have my boy Darius on here. Um, to kind of piggyback off of that, you know, shout out to everyone that shout out to you. Yeah, that no longer has their mom. He actually lost his mother, I believe it was seven years ago. I was gonna have him on here, but it was probably gonna be a little too difficult for him to speak on that situation. Um, and to quote him, uh, you're not gonna have you're not gonna have me on camera crying. I mean, I'm so but with that being said, he did, and this is coming from someone who whose mother is no longer here, he did write a letter because one of the questions I was gonna have, I was gonna ask him on here was if you could, if you could tell people who currently like whose mothers are still here, if you could tell them one thing, what would it be? What would you what would you tell them as somebody whose mother's no longer here? And he wrote me something, so I want to read that on the pod, um, just so you guys can can hear from someone whose mother's no longer here. But he says If your mom is still around, cherish your moments with her. I lost my mother unexpectedly December 2018. It was by far the worst day of my life. One day I was talking to her and she was telling me how proud she was of me. And the next day she was gone. I missed the conversations, just going out with her to or to run errands, the small things. It's been over seven years and I miss her every day. If your mom wants to spend time with you or ask you to do something, don't look at it as a burden because when she's gone, you'll you'll wish that you had the had that time back. If I could tell my mom anything, I'd just let her know that I'm still hanging in there and trying to live right by her and myself. And that that's deep manage. So that's coming from someone whose mom is no longer here, bro. Like, so like stuff like that hits hard. Everybody that lost their mom. Yeah, man. I couldn't imagine, man. Yeah, and I and like I said, I couldn't, I couldn't let Mother's Day go by without giving a special, doing a special, uh special pod for all the mothers. That shit that shit hurt my heart. Yeah, man. So shout out to all the amazing moms, man. Like, you know what I'm saying? You know, thank you also. Thank you for everybody that's tuning in on this special episode of Facts and Foolishness. We appreciate each and every one of you as well. But but once again, a special shout out to all the amazing moms out there, man. You got any closing, any closing thoughts on Mother's Day, bruh? Man, uh uh today is today is y'all's day, man. I mean, like all the BS y'all go through, yeah, yeah, y'all uh it's always one thing that keeps a family together, and it's always seems to be the mama. Y'all the matriarch of everything, man. Y'all the y'all y'all keep us in line, you know? Yeah. And um, it's nothing like a mother's love. It's nothing like a mother's love. And yeah, man, I love y'all, man. Keep being strong, keep keep doing what y'all gotta do. Keep keep keep thugging it out, man. Because y'all, y'all the glue that keeps everything together in the family. Happy Mother's Day. Yeah, so yeah, I can't, I I'm not even gonna attempt to follow that up. Uh Happy Mother's Day, man. I I appreciate each and every each and every one of you all, each and every one of the present mothers um in their children's life. We appreciate everything that you do for being strong for the late nights, the ass whoopers, the everything, everything that makes a a mom a mom. We we appreciate you. Um once again, special episode, Mother's Day edition of Facts and Foolishness. We will be dropping another one Thursday, so make sure you guys tune in. Facts and foolishness, we out. That was good.
unknownThat was good.
SPEAKER_01Oh, I feel like that was really good.
