Intro
SPEAKER_04Welcome to Beyond the Closet. I'm Sarah.
SPEAKER_00And I'm Nick. And welcome to Beyond the Closet once again.
How are we doing?
SPEAKER_04How are you doing? Let's crash out for a minute.
SPEAKER_00I am kind of crashing out. I'm not gonna lie to you.
SPEAKER_04Valid. What about?
SPEAKER_00I it's things that aren't even like necessary to crash out over. Like on when was it? Like traffic. Yeah, that and like computers, like literally like the littlest thing. People breathing. People breathing, people coughing, like people snee, like, get out of my face. You know, like leave me alone. People being present. Bruh. And now you're coughing. No, it's literally just, I don't know what it was, but do you ever wake up out of bed one day and you get ready and then you head to work, and you're like, okay, I'm kind of chilling. And then you get there and you're kind of like, I'm so mad.
SPEAKER_04That's every day.
SPEAKER_00But you don't know why you're mad.
SPEAKER_04I feel that. Yeah, because sometimes they get that way, and then my boss is like, What's wrong with you? Like, yeah, I'm like, I don't know. I'm just like pissed for no reason. He's like, oh, okay. Yeah. But I'm like, I don't know why. There's no reason for it. My brain is just weird today.
SPEAKER_00I was so mad the other day. It was kind of crazy. Like, and I had stuff to do, which was fine. It's one thing if I'm bored. But if I have stuff to do, it's not as bad.
SPEAKER_04If I'm bored, then I get sleepy. My legs feel like they're 100 pounds.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, that's valid. I feel like I just it might I don't know if it's just because I've been working more. Because I because I work because I want to make up the hours that I'm gonna be missing since I request off. You know, if I request off, I gotta make up those hours because I won't I need the money.
SPEAKER_03Yep.
SPEAKER_00But like it's also like fuck, you know, it's kind of draining, it's exhausting. So, which isn't a bad thing. I love doing my job, it's fun. But I was just kind of like, sorry, y'all, there's a siren going by. But sometimes I'm just like, I don't know why I was so moody that day. I was so moody. I wanted to go home so bad. Was that yesterday?
SPEAKER_04Yeah, I was texting you. Yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_00I couldn't remember if that was yesterday.
SPEAKER_04I think it was yesterday.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, I was crashing out. I don't know what it was, but I just wanted to go home. I want to go home so bad. I was so tired, I was so done. And today is my only off day. Um which is fine. But like, because I have Sunday and I have all the next week off. Which is gonna be really nice. I'm gonna have a little mini vacation because we have company coming. Nice. Um but yeah, I kind of went insane yesterday because I was just like, I don't know what it is, but this is pissing me off, and there's literally nothing to be pissed about. Like sometimes I just wake up mad.
SPEAKER_04Did anybody like do anything to make it worse?
SPEAKER_00Being there, being there in front of me made me angry. No, I don't know, but like, and then it's kind of like, you know, it's similar to like you're there in the morning and you're fine, but like say you have a nine to five job, which I used to have a nine to five job, but say like you get there in the morning, you're kind of like, you know, you're up, you're good, and then that three to five uh thing starts, and you just can't get through it, and it's so dragging. Do you know what I'm talking about?
SPEAKER_04My three to five is Do you know what I'm talking about though? Yeah.
SPEAKER_00That feeling sucks.
SPEAKER_04Yeah.
SPEAKER_00It's the worst because you don't want to do all of your energy's gone.
SPEAKER_04Yes. And not to talk about myself, but I I feel that because my three to five is um like between seven and ten, where like, okay, we're done with service, now we're cleaning up, and like my coworkers get this too, where we're just like, we don't want to.
SPEAKER_00We don't want to, we don't want to clean.
SPEAKER_04We don't want to fucking clean. Yep. We don't want to scrub.
SPEAKER_00We don't want to go home.
SPEAKER_04Like we want to go home. But we want to leave it. We want yeah.
SPEAKER_00What's the point if it's gonna be dirty in like eight hours?
SPEAKER_04That's our that's how we feel too.
SPEAKER_00But it's also like sanitation. Yeah. Sanitation, it's required. You can't just leave it. But no, that's why I was mad. I was like, this is this sucks. I got up at six yesterday and I was just like, it was like three o'clock, and I was like, okay. It depends if it's busy and you have stuff to do. If you don't have stuff to do, it fucking sucks. Yeah. It really sucks. But like there was some stuff going on yesterday, so luckily I was busy enough. But what about you? How are you doing?
SPEAKER_04So kind of stressed.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, I think everybody is right now. Claire's been pretty stressed too.
SPEAKER_04Yeah.
SPEAKER_00Everybody has. It's like a busy time of year.
SPEAKER_04It it's so stupid that summer is so busy. It's like, can you just like stay home? It is better as a kid. Summer is better.
SPEAKER_00Except you don't have as control as much control. You kind of have to do whatever the hell your parents want you to do. Either summer school or whatever. I would like to go, but like you can't go anywhere. You can't drive. You know what I mean?
SPEAKER_04Yeah, that's a good point. I don't know. I had so many neighbor friends growing up.
SPEAKER_00I did too. And we went to the neighborhood pool a lot.
SPEAKER_04Yeah. So that was nice.
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_04Um no, but uh my Alex and I got a cat. Yes! So um we'll put up a cute little image right here.
SPEAKER_00You have to send me one though.
SPEAKER_04Yep. I will, don't worry.
SPEAKER_00So um I need it like today, though.
SPEAKER_04Okay.
SPEAKER_00Now, no, I'm kidding. I'm joking. I'm literally joking, Sarah. Don't do it right now.
SPEAKER_04Um, but um, his name is Fireworm. I really want to rename him Milo.
SPEAKER_00Oh, you do want to rename him.
SPEAKER_04I really, really want to rename him, and I can say that on here because I know Alex isn't gonna watch this, and so I get to complain about it.
SPEAKER_00We're both crashing out. Yeah. What do you want to rename him?
SPEAKER_04Milo.
SPEAKER_00Milo.
SPEAKER_04Yeah. Because Milo is just such a cute freaking name. It is a cute name. And it's so, I just think it's perfect for him.
SPEAKER_00I'm surprised you didn't choose my options.
SPEAKER_04What were your options?
SPEAKER_00Uh achilly Achilles or Achilles or Patroclus, not Achilles.
SPEAKER_04Those are good, but I wanted to do something. I wanted to pick a name that Alex wasn't gonna make fun of me for choosing.
SPEAKER_00Would you name any of your future cats those names though?
SPEAKER_04Possibly.
SPEAKER_00Dog?
unknownDog.
SPEAKER_00Bill Dog would make more sense.
SPEAKER_04Dog would make more sense.
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_04A cat, not so much.
SPEAKER_00A cat is more like Athena would be a cute name for a cat.
SPEAKER_04That would be really cute. But I would do that if it was like a majestic brown cat. Female.
SPEAKER_00For like a dog, it would have to be like a Zeus. Yeah, or like it would look like Or Poseidon. Or like Achilles could work too if it was just like, you know, like it looked like it would be a good dog that would just, you know, have that energy of like.
SPEAKER_04I feel like I knew a dog named Athena.
SPEAKER_00I think I knew a dog named Achilles at the daycare used to work, huh? I think.
SPEAKER_04I can't remember the dog though. That was Athena. But anyways. So um, yeah, so we refer to him as my as fireworm. And see, here's my belief about cat names is cats are very intelligent creatures. And so when they have a good name that they like, then they'll call to it.
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_04Because Mishka loves his name.
SPEAKER_00Mishka is such a cute name, too.
SPEAKER_04Because I wanted I we tried to refer to him as Garfield, and he was just like, no, fuck that. Give me a different name. And then I was like, Mishka, and he's like, Oh, I like that. Yes, mom, what do you want?
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_04And and I, okay, so I need to realize that no cat is going to be like Mishka. Mishka is Mishka's very specific.
SPEAKER_00He's special.
SPEAKER_04He is very special because he grew up in a hoarder house where he was exposed to people very early on, exposed to multiple cats very early on. That was just, you know, he recognized humans with food. Like he understanded that like humans, hands mean food. Hands mean love and playing and love.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_04And so he under like he's very comfortable around humans. Yeah. That's why like at my party.
unknownYeah.
SPEAKER_04He was chilling. He was chilling.
SPEAKER_00Normally cats were like, um, ew, no, I'm hiding in the basement for eight hours.
SPEAKER_04Yeah. And he was like, Mom, what are you up to? What are you up to? Oh, what are you up to? Oh, do you have food?
SPEAKER_00Mm-hmm.
SPEAKER_04Yeah. He like he's he's chilling. Yeah. He's very confident, very he's equal parts, loves to play, loves affection, loves attention. Um I let him outside and he call he comes to me when I call his name. He knows what I don't like and what I do like. And that shows yeah. He he knows when I'm I'm never mad at him. So like, and even when I get mad, he gets mad. So it's like he'll start like scratching at the furniture when I get mad at him, and he's like just to piss me off more. And I'm like, okay, fuck you. Whatever. But like we have this little enclosed outside porch area that I let him out on. So that way. Yeah, so that way he's not out in the yard.
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_04Um, but like I'll let him go on the railing.
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_04Because I know that even if he sees a bird, he has enough self-control to not run after it.
SPEAKER_03Yeah.
SPEAKER_04And he's not gonna run away on me either because he knows how good he has it. He's very comfortable, he's loved, he has good food that he that I give him treats anytime he wants. So he like he knows how good he has it. He's a good boy. Yeah. And so I just I'm very I love him very much. The fact that I call his name and he comes running up to me and he's like, Mom, what's up?
SPEAKER_00I love that.
SPEAKER_04Like, what do you want?
SPEAKER_00But you want the same thing.
SPEAKER_04I want the same thing for Fireworm.
SPEAKER_00Does Fireworm not fit, do you think?
SPEAKER_04It fits fine. It's just it's too many syllable words.
SPEAKER_00It is kind of a long name, too.
SPEAKER_04It is a long name, and I don't really like long names. And Milo is just so it's very simple, very easy to roll off the tongue. Same with Mishka. Two M's. Two M's, MMs. And um, he is very sweet and affectionate. Um, he's not really as playful as Mishka. Um, and he's drinking water just fine. He uses his lurbox every day. The only issue that we're having is that he's not eating. And so he is a rescue, and we rescued him. Not I r I didn't rescue him. Um, his foster parents rescued him after just last Thanksgiving during the snowstorms. And he was just a kitten. And so he I'm sorry, I know you heard all of this, but they haven't. No, I want to hear it again. Okay, good. So um then his foster mom took him in and was taking care of him, feeding him, and I think he made a very good connection with her. But then, you know, eventually he had to find a home. And so he came home to us, and um, I definitely think he misses his foster mom a lot and his foster friends. Um, but I mean he's very Mishka is very curious about him, and he is very curious about Mishka. Um, I think they're they're very excited to get to know each other.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, beautiful hair.
SPEAKER_04Thank you. I'm sorry. Thank you.
SPEAKER_00I'm sorry, but she took it down and I was like, damn, he's got nice hair.
SPEAKER_04Thank you. Um anyways. This is unbrushed day two curly hair.
SPEAKER_02It's cute.
SPEAKER_04Thank you. Um, I'm embracing the day two curls because I haven't before. Usually I just brush it out at this point, but whatever. So um we are trying to get him to eat something. Um, and we have been feeding him the food that he came with, but he just refuses to eat any of it.
SPEAKER_00Have you tried wet food? Or is it wet food? It is wet food. Okay.
SPEAKER_04We he has two bowls of dry food, different types of dry food out. And I give him new wet food every morning and night. And he has a water fountain that he is drinking out of. Clearly, he's just like. Because he needs something in his system. So um we um what else?
SPEAKER_00Probably.
SPEAKER_04I think maybe it's a good idea to get Mishka in there. Yeah. Maybe. So that way, you know, Mishka kind of eats in front of him and is like letting him know, like Hey, this is what you're supposed to do. Yeah, like this is how you eat. I know you you know how to eat, but like Let's do it here.
unknownOkay.
SPEAKER_04Yeah. But like maybe we feed them next to each other at the door and then he sees Mishka eating and he's like, Oh, okay, it's must be safe. Because sometimes cats need signals from other cats instead of just humans.
SPEAKER_00Sometimes dogs are like that too. Yeah.
SPEAKER_04Or I mean maybe we bring our dinner into the room and we eat in front of him. So we he sees like, okay, maybe this is a safe area to eat. Like they're eating, we're I'm I can eat then.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, exactly.
SPEAKER_04Um, so maybe that's a good idea. But um, yeah, otherwise, yeah.
SPEAKER_00Doing good?
SPEAKER_04Yeah, doing really good. I'm really excited that we got another cat.
SPEAKER_00I'm excited for you.
SPEAKER_04Thank you. That's really exciting. I'm gonna refer to him as Milo. I'm just gonna name him Milo.
SPEAKER_00It's Milo now.
SPEAKER_04It's Milo.
SPEAKER_00It's Milo.
SPEAKER_04It's cute as Milo. It's such a good name.
SPEAKER_00It is a cute name. But I love it.
SPEAKER_04I wanted to name him uh Leonid, which is little lion in Russian. Because Mishka is little bear.
SPEAKER_00Yep. Yeah, that's cute.
SPEAKER_04So I wanted to keep with the theme, but Alex doesn't like it, so it's fine. Alex.
SPEAKER_00What the hell? No, I'm joking. He's gonna be like, sorry.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, and he's not gonna be like, I don't know what to tell you.
SPEAKER_00I don't like it though.
SPEAKER_04I don't like it though. But um, yeah, so might be Milo, might be fireworm, who knows?
SPEAKER_00Who knows? Fireworm's his middle name.
SPEAKER_04Yes. Milo fireworm hind petzeled.
SPEAKER_00Put it on his birth certificate.
SPEAKER_04Mm-hmm.
SPEAKER_00Absolutely. Okay, so
Our New Books!
SPEAKER_00let's talk about the books we've been reading.
SPEAKER_04Yes, I have only gotten a chapter in, but it's not dude, I haven't gotten too far in mine. Okay. So But we can't tell each other too much. No, but what we're gonna swap. I know. But what I can tell you is that what was actually very interesting about what the author did is at the beginning of the book, it says all of the trigger warnings.
SPEAKER_00That's what it does in here, too.
SPEAKER_04Really? Mm-hmm.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. It says I've noticed books are doing that more.
SPEAKER_04Okay.
SPEAKER_00Because it does it in the beginning of uh the long game, too.
SPEAKER_04Really? Yeah. I didn't even notice.
SPEAKER_00It does it in the beginning of the long game.
SPEAKER_04Shit. Okay.
SPEAKER_00It does it in this one too. It says, author's note, this novel was written in third person, alternating POVs of each of the main characters. Potentially sensitive content includes mention of past homophobic family, homophobic comments in the workplace, depression and anxiety, and discussion of depression and anxiety, medications, and their possible side effects. This book contains multiple scenes with graphic sexual content between both consenting adults.
SPEAKER_02Oh, there you go.
SPEAKER_00So there's kind of like a hey, like, this is what you're kind of about to read.
SPEAKER_04Yeah. Mine had like a huge list of trigger opening. I mean, I And at the end it'll it will say, it says, uh, I want to make sure you're in the right headspace before you read this book.
SPEAKER_00That's valid. That's valid. And I like when authors do that just so they know, like, you know.
SPEAKER_04It's nice that they're starting to do that because sometimes you go into books blind and you're like, oh. Yeah.
SPEAKER_00Whoa. Yeah. Um, so tell me a little bit about the girls. So it is it is a severe book, right?
SPEAKER_04Yes.
SPEAKER_00Okay, some of the books.
SPEAKER_04So I can't God, I wish I had the book with me.
SPEAKER_00Can't say too much.
SPEAKER_04Um, yeah. But um, so basically, the main character and her best friend are a act at the Renaissance Fair.
SPEAKER_03Okay.
SPEAKER_04And after one of the um, another there's another performing act, um, Big Little and We are like three pirates who I don't know what they do, but um they have another like comedy skit.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_04But since um Wee is, I can't remember her name, but um she for some reason I haven't gotten to the point of why, but at some point she has to step back and can't do the show. And so she ends up asking the main character, can you step in?
SPEAKER_00Oh, okay.
SPEAKER_04Which then leads to a friendship, but also kind of a strained relationship with uh uh what did I just call the three?
SPEAKER_00I don't know.
SPEAKER_04Big little and we? I think so. Big middle and we? I don't know. But so the middle, middle pirate, um, ends up they having end up having like a strained relationship. Um and then they become friends, and then I'm guessing they turn into lovers because that all happens in the first chapter? No, in the f in the book.
SPEAKER_00Oh, okay, so that's just like kind of like the plot.
SPEAKER_04Yep.
SPEAKER_00Okay, cool. Cool, cool.
SPEAKER_04But um Yeah, I haven't really dove deep into like any like people yet. Okay. Because I've only gotten through the first chapter. Okay. But yeah. My plan this week is to, when I'm spending time with the cat, I'm gonna bring my book in there and just sit in there and read.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, melon. I'm yeah, I read a few chapters this afternoon. I'm on I just finished chapter eight.
SPEAKER_04Nice.
SPEAKER_00And I can give you a little bit of a synopsis. I think I might have told you about it before, but it's about it takes place in Charleston, South Carolina. And it's about a guy named Chuck who is a swim coach at a university there. And then his friend, Tommy, works at like a car dealership. But Tommy wants a promotion, and the only way he can really get a promotion is this his boss always does like this yearly, like like race, I guess. Like they do like not like Olympics, but like, you know, like okay, we're gonna do a run, a bike race, uh swim race, yeah, kind of stuff like that. And he has to swim across an entire lake. And he's like, I don't know how to swim properly.
SPEAKER_04So he's like Is it a triathlon?
SPEAKER_00I don't know for sure, but I think that swimming is an activity. I think I don't know for sure.
SPEAKER_04Okay, because is there biking?
SPEAKER_00I don't know. Okay. I'm just saying that's what it sounded like, but I don't know for sure. I'll have to look into it.
SPEAKER_04Because if you're if you run, bike, and swim, that's triathlon.
SPEAKER_00That's triathlon, yeah, because it's the three of them. Yep.
SPEAKER_04Um it's like a try, try ethlon.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, I know. It's like trilogy, too.
SPEAKER_04Well, no, I mean like Oh, try. Yeah, like I have to try.
SPEAKER_00I have to try. But like he wants this, because he's noticed any person that like wins this race always gets it promoted. Oh, he's like, I want to be promoted. So he's like, hey, Chuck, teach me how to swim. So that's kind of where it's going right now.
SPEAKER_04And have you gotten into any like spicy bits?
SPEAKER_00Not yet.
SPEAKER_04Okay.
SPEAKER_00Um it's kind of a slow route. Although I will tell you something that I think is actually pretty cool. Um They're like besties, and they kind of are like very like they're platonic right now, obviously, but like they show a lot of friendship to each other towards each other. Like, he'll bring him like a fresh batch of cookies and like stuff like that. And he'll be like, hey, I know you have a lot of work, so I'll cook dinner. Like, he'll come over every night. Tommy will come over to Chuck's for dinner every now and then and make burgers. And they watch Spartacus.
SPEAKER_04That's cute.
SPEAKER_00Do you know what Spartacus is?
SPEAKER_04Not really.
SPEAKER_00It's I don't know much about it, but it's really horny. Like it's a really horny show.
SPEAKER_03Okay.
SPEAKER_00And they're watching it. I'll give you a little snippet of if that's okay, unless you don't want me to tell you anything. Sure. They're watching it. And Tommy's just like, dang, like and he knows that Chuck is um gay.
SPEAKER_04Okay. And he's just like, Wait, who are the two main characters? So Toby and Chuck.
SPEAKER_00No, Tommy is this guy? Tommy. This is Chuck.
SPEAKER_04Chuck. And who's doing the triathlon?
SPEAKER_00Tommy.
SPEAKER_04Tommy.
SPEAKER_00Chuck is training him.
SPEAKER_04And Chuck is gay.
SPEAKER_00Chuck is gay.
SPEAKER_04Tommy is we don't know. Okay.
SPEAKER_00Straight. But he was talking about, he's like, dang, there's a lot of nice butts in this show. And like just talking about all the butts that are on the screen. And then he's like, did I say something wrong? And he's like, no, Tommy, I just need you to get the fuck out because I really need to jerk off right now, and you need to leave. That's so real. And I'm like, that's so real, honestly. That's so funny. It was really funny. I started laughing. I was like, valid. Um, no, and I've been texting the author like my thoughts on it so far.
SPEAKER_02Good.
SPEAKER_00Um, but I really like it so far. I think it's really good. Um, and I just needed, you know, like we talked about, I needed that summer vibe type of book.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, we both got summer vibes going on. I was so excited about it.
SPEAKER_00I am too, and I'm really excited to swap too, because it's something we haven't done before, and I think if we really like it, we could do it for just the summer.
SPEAKER_04Yeah.
SPEAKER_00Because then if we want, we'll be able to read multiple books.
SPEAKER_04You know, okay, actually, I have a question for you later.
SPEAKER_00You can ask me now, unless it's not.
SPEAKER_04Do you want to get sloshed at Renaissance? Yes! You can add that on here.
SPEAKER_00What are you talking about getting drunk?
SPEAKER_04I don't care. I was just like, I don't want to interrupt you.
SPEAKER_00I don't give a fuck.
SPEAKER_04Okay.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, I would love to get slashed at a Renaissance fair.
SPEAKER_04Because we could go on a Sunday and do the beer crawl. Okay, granted, okay. I don't like beer, but it's well, it's not like I know it's it's mead. It's like cider.
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_04Well, sometimes it's beer.
SPEAKER_00But Harris's apple cider.
unknownI wish.
SPEAKER_04But um No, but okay, so I know that it's expensive.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_04So it's 95 for the beer crawl. Holy fuck! And 45 for admission. Where is this? At the Bristol Renaissance Fair.
SPEAKER_00I think I've been to Renaissance Fair like once, but my parents paid for it. I didn't know they were so expensive.
SPEAKER_04They are expensive.
SPEAKER_00I was probably in an ungrateful fuck at the time.
SPEAKER_04No, well, well. Okay, but to be fair, I mean, your parents can afford it.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, I mean, like, I just felt bad because like I was probably like, man, I'm not appreciating any of this, but now That's a good point. You know what I mean?
SPEAKER_04But now go ahead, text the next time you see them, tell them, hey, thank you, by the way, for Renaissance Fair for paying for me, because that was expensive.
SPEAKER_00That was expensive, and I really feel bad, and now I actually kind of want to go back and enjoy it.
SPEAKER_04Mm-hmm.
SPEAKER_00Um, that would be fun.
SPEAKER_04Cool. And we can dress up. Dressing up is a lot more it's a lot more fun when you dress up.
SPEAKER_00Okay.
SPEAKER_04Especially if you're doing the beer crawl.
SPEAKER_00Okay.
SPEAKER_04Like, you have to dress up. Because everybody else around you is dressed up.
SPEAKER_00You know what I want to go to with you at one point? Medieval Times.
SPEAKER_04Yes! I want to go to Medieval Times so fucking bad.
SPEAKER_00Have you been?
SPEAKER_04Once. I've never done that. In middle school, I've never.
SPEAKER_00I don't think I've ever been. But Claire and her friends went one time and they just got kind of sloshed and we're just like having best time. I was like, we should go with Sarah. It'll be so much fun.
SPEAKER_04See, I'm gonna get sloshed. I'm gonna get sloshed too. It's been too long. It's been way too long.
SPEAKER_00For those who don't know, sloshed just means drunk.
SPEAKER_04Yep.
SPEAKER_00I don't think I mean I don't know if someone would not know that. There's different terms for drunk.
SPEAKER_04Yes.
SPEAKER_00Wasted, you know, like See, here's the thing.
SPEAKER_04We, if we're gonna go and it's just you and I getting sloshed, because if we had Alex come with us and like he drove us, well, it's the fact that he would not be able to come along with us on the beer crawl.
SPEAKER_03Why?
SPEAKER_04Because you have to have admission to do the beer crawl. Oh like you have to pay for the beer crawl if you want to be with the people in the beer crawl.
SPEAKER_03Okay.
SPEAKER_04So he would just be by himself wandering around the entire time.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, that wouldn't be.
SPEAKER_04So but we could get an Uber, an Uber down there. Or I don't know.
SPEAKER_00When are they? Are they usually in the fall?
SPEAKER_04No, they are all the way from they literally start from when school ends until s uh school begins.
SPEAKER_00Oh, so it's a summer thing.
SPEAKER_04The entire summer.
SPEAKER_00Okay.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, every single weekend of the entire summer. It's like a Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.
SPEAKER_00Okay, Thursday could work for me.
SPEAKER_04Well, not me.
SPEAKER_00Change your schedule. No, I'm anyway. Yeah, I would love to.
SPEAKER_04No, but if there was like a Sunday you're willing to take off. I mean I know Sundays are busy for you, but they yeah, that's like the main day they need me.
SPEAKER_00But my like depending on what's going on that day, latest I can be off is like six. Which isn't bad, but like or four. I'll just request off on a Thursday. We'll figure it out. We can talk about it.
SPEAKER_04Yeah. Um I think they close at like maybe eight on Sundays.
SPEAKER_00Oh, really? Oh, yeah, that's true. That's how comic cons are too. They usually close at like five or eight, depending on the con.
SPEAKER_03Yeah.
SPEAKER_00Um, yeah, I would love to see that. That sounds like so much fun. Sweet. Um, I haven't been to something like that in so long, and I would honestly love to do it. And I just I want to do more this summer. I feel like last summer I didn't do enough.
SPEAKER_03Yeah.
SPEAKER_00And especially with me living here now, like I have more to do, more options, more things to do. I'm not, I'm not a Summerfest person though. I am, but But you know me, I don't even have like a favorite artist. So for me to pay to see someone perform one song, like to me, that's just not worth it.
SPEAKER_04Yeah.
SPEAKER_00I I don't have a favorite artist.
SPEAKER_04Walk around and enjoy the music, shop around, spend some money, really?
SPEAKER_00Yeah, she has a booth.
SPEAKER_04I'm I'm impressed at Summerfest.
SPEAKER_00We talked about it with her in her store. Because remember, we were talking about how pride was kind of like.
SPEAKER_04Well, she I thought that's why I thought that's what she was talking about, pride.
SPEAKER_00No, she wasn't at Pride.
SPEAKER_04Oh, she isn't.
SPEAKER_00I mean she might have gone like through general mission, but she didn't have a booth, I don't think. Wow, but she has a booth at Summerfest and it looks really cute.
SPEAKER_04Nice, okay.
SPEAKER_00So that's like that's what I'd go to Summerfest for, but that's that's fine.
SPEAKER_04She's just really getting popular.
SPEAKER_00I know, and I love it. I love it for her. And like we know her.
SPEAKER_04Yeah.
SPEAKER_00It's great. Um, but yeah, Summerfest, it's a vibe, but only I like I just I'm not a music person.
SPEAKER_04Yeah.
SPEAKER_00So it's just not really my cup of tea.
SPEAKER_04It's it's more like a me and Claire thing.
SPEAKER_00Oh, for sure. It's kind of like you're you and you and Claire's version of our Comic-Con thing.
SPEAKER_04Yes. And see, maybe Claire and I will get to go to Summerfest this summer.
SPEAKER_00Maybe you should.
SPEAKER_04Because um And it's only so long. Yeah.
SPEAKER_00See, State Fair I like.
SPEAKER_04Yeah.
SPEAKER_00State Fair is fine. I like rides.
unknownYeah.
SPEAKER_00They're tons of fun. And I like the farm animals too.
SPEAKER_04Yeah. I don't like the rides.
SPEAKER_00I know you're not a big ride person.
SPEAKER_04See, like, I want to go to Summerfest and I want to walk around, I want to hang out, talk to people, do stuff. Whereas like Alex is like, all right, let's get in, get out. Like, let's go see the people that we want to see and then get out. And I'm like, no, you're not taking advantage of like, look, like, let's sit by the beach, have a hot dog, let's let's spend our time, let's not rush anything. And he's like, I don't want to be here, I just don't like to smell. And I'm like, okay, I understand. But your little autistic ass has gotta take a deep breath. Anyway. He knows that he's autistic.
SPEAKER_00I mean, I am too.
SPEAKER_04I mean, okay, for right now, he's undiagnosed, but there's he shows so many signs.
SPEAKER_00But he knows he is.
SPEAKER_04He has a feeling.
SPEAKER_00Okay.
SPEAKER_04We both have a feeling. But now I just tell him, like, okay, you're Tism.
SPEAKER_00I feel like everybody has the TISM nowadays, too.
SPEAKER_04Everybody has it.
SPEAKER_00In a different way.
SPEAKER_04In a different way, for sure. But I think some people are just like, I think some people are out there who are like, and I'm sure people will agree with me, is that there are some people out there who are like, oh yeah, I'm autistic, and they think it's just a personality trait.
unknownYeah.
SPEAKER_04And they're just not. They're like, oh no, I'm just quirky because I'm autistic. And it's like, no, no, you're just a bitch. It's like saying, like, oh, I'm a Scorpio. I act this way. And I'm like, no, you're just a bitch, Becky. Fuck you, Becky. Becky. I don't know, just a random white girl name.
SPEAKER_00Fucking Becky.
SPEAKER_04But no, it really does bother me when people or like people just people in general when they say, like, oh, I like I think I'm bipolar or I have OCD or yeah, I'm depressed, or I got a little bit of anxiety, or like whatever. It could be fucking whatever. And they just say it because they want to be unique.
SPEAKER_00And have attention.
SPEAKER_04And have attention. And because they think they're quirky and they have a personality trait. It's like, no, that's not a personality trait. It's a disability for some people.
SPEAKER_00Like it's it's hard.
SPEAKER_04It disabil like it disables them in their day-to-day life.
SPEAKER_00I'm on three medications.
SPEAKER_04Exactly. Like I'm on, I'm on, I'm raw dogging everything, to be fair. But like I know that I have anxiety. I don't have as much depression as I used to.
SPEAKER_00Everyone has anxiety though, to a certain level.
SPEAKER_04To a certain level. Mine is pretty low, but like high.
SPEAKER_00Mine is high.
SPEAKER_04I know, honey. I know.
SPEAKER_00Do not pet me with your butt.
SPEAKER_04But like I definitely have some OCD going on. And it like. I do too. Yeah. Like, I don't know, like it's hard to describe, but it's definitely just like it's in my day-to-day enough to where I'm like, if I see mold or if I see like disorganization in the cooler or at work, I start to have like an anxiety attack. And then because I want to fix it so bad, but I have to remember like I have to stop caring. Otherwise I care too much. And then that's when I start to freak out.
SPEAKER_00Yep. That's me with like if I finish or like I notice, like, you know, like I'm just cleaning a little bit around the house. I see one speck or like maybe some crumbs on the floor. I'm like, oh my god, now I have to clean the whole house.
SPEAKER_04I feel that.
SPEAKER_00That's me. I have to clean the whole house now.
SPEAKER_04Yeah.
SPEAKER_00But anyway.
SPEAKER_04That is that is a stronger OCD than me.
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_04Because if I see some, like, okay, honestly, there's a lot of crumbs in my kitchen right now. And maybe my house is just where I can be, I can say fuck it because I don't care. Yeah. Or like it's my one space. I like things clean too. But I think I've always felt this way where like my parent my bedroom at my parents' house. Yeah. I kept my area clean everywhere else, but my bedroom. My bedroom was my one space where I could say fuck it. And like I have the freedom to do so.
SPEAKER_00Yep, fair.
SPEAKER_04So my bedroom was always messy growing up. Always.
SPEAKER_00And did they ever make you clean it though?
SPEAKER_04Sometimes.
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_04But they also knew that it's just gonna go back to being dirty no matter what. But like it knew I never really brought like I never brought food in there. I never brought drinks. So like nothing got old or gross. It was just dirty clothes. Yeah. And like random objects and artwork of wherever. Yeah. That was the only issue. But um until there was one time when there was a dead mouse underneath a pile of clothes. Ew. This is why I don't like mice.
SPEAKER_00Okay.
SPEAKER_04I don't care what people comment, I don't like mice.
SPEAKER_00Okay.
SPEAKER_04Because they have stuffed dog food inside my shoes. I have found dead ones underneath my bed. They have crawled across my face when I'm sleeping. I have picked up a pile of laundry and there's a dead mouse riding underneath them. Ew. Yeah. So yeah, I'm sorry, I don't like mice. I've had way too many bad experiences with them that I could do. Dog food in your like Because little animals will collect food and hide them in places for them to come back to later.
SPEAKER_00You had a dog? Oh, that's right. You told me that. That's and you had one crawl across your head.
SPEAKER_04My mom did one time. I had one, like not across my face, but like across my bed. And then it was going on to like my shelves. And I was like, fuck this.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, um, no thanks.
SPEAKER_04I woke up my parents and I was like, can you please take care of it?
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_04Because I'm not fucking dealing with this in your house.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, valid. Valid.
SPEAKER_04Anyways, so yeah, that's why I also got out of that house as soon as I could, because I was just so sick of the critters.
SPEAKER_00I'm sure you still feel the same way about rats?
SPEAKER_04Yes. I've never seen a rat in real in real life.
SPEAKER_00Did I tell you when I was in New York I saw a rat in the subway?
SPEAKER_04See, what the fuck?
SPEAKER_00That's normal.
SPEAKER_04It's so normal.
SPEAKER_00But like, oh my god, it was massive. Dude, I thought it was a possum. If that's how you say that, is it? Yep. A possum? A a possum.
SPEAKER_04I think you're right.
SPEAKER_00They talked about it in the book.
SPEAKER_04A possum?
SPEAKER_00Because he has a possum under his house. I can't remember. Anyway. I saw one in New York when I was there for New York Comic-Con. Dude, it was literally the size of that. It was like maybe like this big. I was like, what the hell? Why is it so big?
SPEAKER_04Like, why are New York rats so big?
SPEAKER_00Because there's probably so much food they scarf down.
SPEAKER_04Because it's a huge entity. Yeah. But it's like, oh my god, it's nasty. Anyway. But yeah. Anyways, so I don't know how we got onto the subject of mice, but let's move on. Yeah. Anyways.
Movie Talk!
SPEAKER_00Let's talk about movies. Okay. There's a few movies that I want to see with you.
unknownOkay.
SPEAKER_00Um, obviously Masters of the Universe. Oh, yes.
SPEAKER_04With Hottie Makati.
SPEAKER_00Mm-hmm. Mr. Henry.
SPEAKER_04With such a what are the words I'm looking for? Such an extensive work career.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. Like an acting career. She's getting range. That's what I call it.
SPEAKER_04Yep. Range.
SPEAKER_00Um, but there's a new movie. I think I sent you the trailer. I don't know if I'm pronouncing it right, but I think it's called Leviticus.
SPEAKER_04Talk about Leviticus.
SPEAKER_00It's I think that's how you say it. Leviticus.
SPEAKER_04Is it historical?
SPEAKER_00It's a horror movie. About two boys?
SPEAKER_04That looks really good. It does sound really good, but I'm also like, what the fuck is this plot?
SPEAKER_00Yeah, it's kind of creepy, but it's got 95 on Rotten Tomatoes. So that's just something I might be kind of interested in seeing at one point.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, that'd be fun. Um is that on anything or is it gonna come to theaters?
SPEAKER_00I think it's in theaters. I don't I don't know for sure though.
SPEAKER_04You know what we haven't done in a long time? Go to see like a really late night uh movie.
SPEAKER_00I know I want to do that soon, and I thought it'd be good to do that, but I really want to see girls like girls.
SPEAKER_04Is that in theaters too?
SPEAKER_00Yeah, that one's based off a book.
SPEAKER_04Perfect. Okay.
SPEAKER_00And I want to see that one. My cousin Sydney told me about it, and I watched the trailer. I was like, this looks really cute. So I'm gonna want to see the that really soon. Yeah. Um, but yeah, Leviticus looks good, girls like girls looks really good. I feel like there's I feel like there's rarely gay movies nowadays that are in theaters.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, they always come to like stars or HBO streaming.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. So I'm like, okay, cool. I would love to see a theater movie for sure. Um I saw backrooms.
SPEAKER_04That was Oh, how is that creepy? Boring? It was creepy.
SPEAKER_00I didn't really like it, to be honest.
SPEAKER_04Did it make sense to you or no? I mean, kinda. Because even it was trippy. Yes, it's supposed to be trippy.
SPEAKER_00But what freaked me the fuck out was just the the begin. Do you care if I spoil it or no?
SPEAKER_04No. Okay.
SPEAKER_00Spoiler alerts who those who actually want to see it.
SPEAKER_04I I've seen the video game game be played on I was told it's not a video game.
SPEAKER_00Backrooms? Yeah.
SPEAKER_04No, it's for sure a video game.
SPEAKER_00I was told it's like something. I don't know. I really don't know the story behind it, but you keep talking. I'm gonna I have to look this up. No, because then you're not gonna listen.
SPEAKER_04I'm still listening. Hmm. Oh yeah, see, okay, Backrooms is based on the horror video game in which you are like, I don't know the premise, but I I just watched it on YouTube. I'm sorry. I watched uh Smitty play it. Um and if you don't know who Smitty is, I'm sure some people will know. Um he you're dressed up in like a hazmat suit and you have like gas masks on. Yeah. And um you're going you are going through these tunnels and then you enter a door, and then that door is going through all of these like rooms and hallways. It's a maze. Yeah, it's a maze. You go through like these creatures and so scary. Yeah. And then um you have to um and then you it takes you into uh like the like almost this like play area. And so everything is just so much bigger than you. Like uh ceilings are stories tall. Yeah, there's huge like play balls. Everything's out of shape, everything's out of shape, and like um, and then you go through all these pools that like you can't see the bottom.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, fuck that. Yeah. Nope.
SPEAKER_04And it's like like they're just like it's like miles of like what looks like miles of like all these pools. And then you're just you have to walk through them or around them or get inside or like go down and under them, and like it's it's terrifying. It's a weird video game. But yet be these back rooms, the the movie, I was pretty sure it was based off of that video game.
SPEAKER_00Okay, because the movie is about a guy who um he owns like a furniture store and it's like pirate themed or whatever. But he goes in his basement and he he's finds out he's able to just walk through the wall and then the back rooms are back there.
SPEAKER_04Oh, that is different.
SPEAKER_00So he just walks through that wall and all the back rooms are back there, but like there's different versions of you once you enter there.
SPEAKER_03Oh, that is different.
SPEAKER_00And it's really creepy because he eventually like dies because like a distorted version of him dressed as a pirate eats him. And it's super creepy looking. And what I wasn't fucking with though, is one empty hallways are scary. If there's no if there's doors and there's like site, like this hallway outside my door right now, that's not scary. But if there's a regular hallway, no doors.
SPEAKER_04Mental hospital hallway?
SPEAKER_00Yeah, no, yeah, fuck that. Absolutely not.
SPEAKER_04Because you're because you know what could be there.
SPEAKER_00But what gets me is the sound, especially in a recording, is the buzzing in the background. Like the buzzing from the lights, the lights, and just like if it's a recording or whatever it is, and it's just sitting there, nothing's happening. That's fucking scary! That's like Five Nights of Freddy. Yes, that's terrifying. Yeah, I was like, nah, I'm not fucking with it. Nope. Overall, though, it was a fun, like, horror movie to watch, and there was definitely some good uh like moments, but it wasn't as good as Obsession.
SPEAKER_04Oh, see, I really, really want to see Obsession.
SPEAKER_00Obsession was really good. Claire and I saw that and we loved it. That was really good. Um but uh yeah, I think we should see we should do a late night movie soon. Toy Story 5 came out too. Um and that did well.
SPEAKER_04Oh yeah. Okay, see, I just wanna Are you confirming? Yes.
SPEAKER_00I mean, I don't know I didn't know anything about it going in. But going out was like, that was fucking scary. Like not scary, but like it was just really creepy. I wasn't fucking with it.
SPEAKER_04But see, it's like it's like this.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, it kind of looks like that, yeah. Oh, I'm sorry.
SPEAKER_04And see, it's like you go through the slides and then you go to a different room.
SPEAKER_00See, I'm not fucking with this. This is the video game. Oh, hell no.
SPEAKER_04See, this is the video game that you're playing.
SPEAKER_01What the fuck?
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_04See? This is this this is the weird ass video game that like Holy shit.
SPEAKER_00That reminds me of that video of that guy going down the slide. Yeah. It was similar to that, similar vibes, scariness level. You know, it was kind of like really creepy. Because like they had they didn't have slides, but they had like certain like doorways, and like there was a doorway that kind of show was shaped like a slide, and it went down. And they sent a guy down there to be like, hey, go down there, see what's see what's down there. And it was just piles and piles and piles of dirty laundry. And if you looked really closely, you could see a head in the laundry just sticking out. And then they're like, Okay, pull me back up, because they sent him down there with the rope. He's like, How do you get this thing up? And next thing you know, the rope pulls him, and he's just like trying not to fall down and fucking falls. It's pretty creepy. It's it's pretty scary in my opinion. I thought it was pretty scary.
SPEAKER_04Okay.
TV Talk
SPEAKER_00Anyway. Um a TV show that I recently I got Claire into it.
SPEAKER_03Oh.
SPEAKER_00Love Victor.
SPEAKER_03Nice.
SPEAKER_00I think you should watch it. I think you should watch it.
SPEAKER_03Okay, I will.
SPEAKER_00It's really good. I'll watch Our Flag Means Death if you watch that.
unknownOkay, fine.
SPEAKER_00Rose up.
SPEAKER_04I got it, I got it.
SPEAKER_00You gotta give me a second. Stick your finger down your throat. Anyway, Love Victor's really cute. Yeah, it's yeah, it takes place in Atlanta. Okay. Um, but it's the same universe as Love Simon. And there's a lot of good side characters, and they're actually like developed. And Claire's obsessed. Like, she's probably gonna want to watch them tonight.
unknownOkay.
SPEAKER_00Um, but I definitely think she should give it a give it a watch. It's on Hulu.
SPEAKER_03Perfect.
SPEAKER_00It's really good. Um next, we're gonna move on to some hetero chatter for a second.
SPEAKER_04Yes.
SPEAKER_00Because for
Hetero Chatter aka Love Island Season 8
SPEAKER_00those of you who don't watch Love Island, you're missing out. You're missing out.
SPEAKER_04Okay, here's my view and opinion of it.
SPEAKER_00I got you into it.
SPEAKER_04This is the good show. Everything you do, because you watch all the good shit.
SPEAKER_00I do.
SPEAKER_04Okay, so I I am not a reality TV person at all.
SPEAKER_00Me neither. Me neither.
SPEAKER_04I uh the more the most types of shows that I usually watch are like um historical or like um uh what's the word I'm looking for? Like Divergent or Hunger Games. Dystopian. Dystopian. And um those are the kind of shows that I watch. And so I do not watch reality TV at all, mostly because I don't really give a fuck about other people's love lives.
SPEAKER_03Right.
SPEAKER_04And so but this is just so much T. In my personal opinion, I it's so like ridiculous at times. That it's just hilarious. And so it's so drama filled.
SPEAKER_03Yeah.
SPEAKER_04And it's all people who are like Gen Z and like up to 30.
SPEAKER_03Yeah.
SPEAKER_04And it's like these people are my age.
SPEAKER_03Yeah.
SPEAKER_04And they act like this. I'm like, I don't what? Who are you?
SPEAKER_00Yeah, exactly.
SPEAKER_04And it's like, they're just so like, to be fair, like to be to be honest, they are so desperately horny that like they're just like immediately like, yeah, let's make out. Or like, yeah, let's have that. They're all just like let's chat. Yes. Like, let's explore this.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, like the the when them making out, like all of them, all of them making out with each other in the first episode. I'm gonna be like, you don't know where those tongues have been.
SPEAKER_04Or honestly, like the second to most recent episode where um Casa Amor, where it's Clara and I were sitting in my bed uh last night watching it on T on our TV, and it was like 20 fucking minutes of just the girls all kissing the boys one by one, and then the boys kissing all the girls one by one. Oh I started falling asleep.
SPEAKER_00I know. I wasn't really a fan of that. I was bored. I was really, I get it.
SPEAKER_04Like it's not that hot, if I'm being honest.
SPEAKER_03It's not that yeah.
SPEAKER_00I just think what they did to the girls what was kind of brutal. The main girls from the villa. They made all of them watch their men in costume more make out with other women. Yeah. That was fucked up.
SPEAKER_04And did they make the boys watch the girls do that?
SPEAKER_00They don't know that the girls saw it, which is even more top.
SPEAKER_04So they're gonna get back.
SPEAKER_00They're gonna get back, they're in so much trouble.
SPEAKER_04Yeah.
SPEAKER_00They're all in they're all so screwed.
SPEAKER_04Honestly, here's the thing. If you're gonna be a contestant, have you not seen the rest of the show? That's what me and Claire keep saying. I'm like, do you not know what Love Island is? Yeah. Like, do you understand what this show is about? Like, is this your first time watching this?
SPEAKER_00Yeah, exactly.
SPEAKER_04Because, like, of course you're the girls are gonna like one of you is gonna know that the other one, like, cheated.
SPEAKER_00No, it's not cheating.
SPEAKER_04It's not technically cheating, but like you know, it's the idea that like That's how dating works, period.
SPEAKER_00That is how dating works, period.
SPEAKER_04But like, why are they getting so jealous that the other person kissed another person or God forbid, talked to another girl?
SPEAKER_00I think the reason it might be that is because you know, like dating in general, when you're dating, like in real level, not on reality TV, you'd go out with multiple people and you see who catches your vibe. You see who you vibe with, but other the people you're doing that with, they don't see the other people.
SPEAKER_04I suppose, yeah.
SPEAKER_00You know what I mean? So it's like that's kind of why it's different.
SPEAKER_04You have all these girls together and they're all really good friends, and then you see your boyfriend talk to your other friend.
SPEAKER_00Or whoever you're coupled up with, yeah.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, that or I sorry, I just like nobody's.
SPEAKER_00I know what you mean. Yeah.
SPEAKER_04Yeah. And you see the person you're coupled up with going to chat with one of your friends. You're kind of like, well, fuck you, and fuck you. I didn't I why are you talking to him? He's supposed to be with me. Like you have your boy. And then you're f and then the friend is just like, I understand, sweetie. It was just a chat. Always serious. It's okay. Like, we didn't kiss, we're not, we didn't romantically chat, we just talked.
SPEAKER_00It's just seeing what the vibe is.
SPEAKER_04It's also you can have other friends who are the other gender.
SPEAKER_00Literally.
SPEAKER_04So it's like, I don't understand why I I don't know.
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_04It's really strange. It's a whole thing.
SPEAKER_00But like, do you know what I mean by like the dating world? Like how it's different from Love Island and how dating like in real life is different. Because they don't see that.
SPEAKER_03Yeah.
SPEAKER_00And you're not really supposed to unless you close things close once you close things off with a person in real life, you're gonna, you know, they probably know that you saw other people beforehand, but the important thing is they chose you, you know what I mean? Like, and that's when you know, hey, they aren't seeing those people anymore, you know? So that's when it's a little different. Yeah, but like they see that in Love Island. I think that might be part of why it's kind of like iffy. Yeah, but at the same time, it's like that's how it works in the real world. You're just watching it this time. Yeah, you know, like that's literally it's literally how it works, but it's so good. It's really good. It's so dumb, but it's it's so dumb, but it's really good. Do you have a favorite? Uh not character, obviously, but like person. Do you have a favorite guy and a favorite girl?
SPEAKER_04Um, what's her name? I'm really awful with the names.
SPEAKER_00There's a lot of people.
SPEAKER_04The white chick with blonde hair. Kenzie. Kenzie. I really like Kenzie.
SPEAKER_00Kenzie?
SPEAKER_04I know it sounds I'd like Claire doesn't like her at all, and I'm like, I don't understand why, because I just love her. She's so silly.
SPEAKER_00She is funny.
SPEAKER_04And yeah, I just I think she's so silly and so funny. Otherwise, like I used to really like Melanie, but then Melanie and Kitty Ten. Casey. Not Casey. Anonymous. Sincere. Sincere and uh Melanie. I don't like either.
SPEAKER_00I don't like either. I can't stand sincere. Sincere is not sincere.
SPEAKER_04Oh, I know. I why would you name your fucking child an adjective? I'm sorry, but why? You just completely ruined their whole personality for the rest of their life. I'm sorry, but like just stop naming your kids words that are already very prominent in the dictionary. Find something new. Like, like, see, that's why I named my cat Mishka. Mm-hmm.
SPEAKER_03Because no one knows what it is.
SPEAKER_04Yes. And it doesn't, you know, it doesn't say his personality. He's not his personality isn't a bear. He just looks like a bear.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_04And, you know, I um like the my new cat, Milo. I don't I don't remember what Milo means, but like, it's one of those names that it doesn't it's just a just a name. It's a it's a unique name, but it doesn't have any it's not an adjective, it's not a describing word, and it's not a verb. It's just I don't know. Yeah, no.
SPEAKER_00Who's your favorite guy then? If you like Kenzie, who's your favorite guy? Do not say Corbin.
SPEAKER_04I wasn't gonna Okay, good.
SPEAKER_00Well Corbin GPT.
SPEAKER_04Okay, okay, I understand what you're saying, but there's a lot of guys out there who are just like him. Oh, I know.
SPEAKER_00But it's just funny. The memes are just so funny. Yeah, the memes are hilarious, they're so funny.
SPEAKER_04But um, I don't know. I like Bryce and I like Caleb. Please see, I do like Corbin. I know he's Chat GPT. He is Chat GPT, but Melanie, can I get a kiss? Melanie, can I get a kiss?
SPEAKER_00Have you seen the meme of him going like he's like hugging Kenzie and he's going, ah.
SPEAKER_04It's really funny. It's so stupid. It's like, okay, if I'm being honest, I don't like any of them. Because none of them are guys that like I would go up to.
SPEAKER_00I would go up to Caleb in a heartbeat.
SPEAKER_04I see, I just I'm in the I like blondes. Valid.
SPEAKER_00I like the blondes, and I like the and I like the like kind of like the surfer boy vibe. And I know he's not like surfer boy, but like, you know, southern I like I think Southern men would be cool.
SPEAKER_04See, this is why I liked Soul.
SPEAKER_00Soul was so Okay, I think this is gonna be my first time saying this on this pod. I think this is gonna be the first time I'm saying this on this pod, but Soul was so cunty, and I loved it.
SPEAKER_04Yeah.
SPEAKER_00She was great in a good way. Cunty in a good way.
SPEAKER_04See, okay, I feel like the other the other reason why I didn't like her.
SPEAKER_00You didn't like her at first.
SPEAKER_04Not at first, and like I still kind of don't, because I think her personality is just being a bitch.
unknownBut that's why it's funny.
SPEAKER_04But like, I understand though that also that makes her so real that like she's just blunt. Yes. But I'm like, see, her if her whole personality is just being a bitch and being defensive, then like what else is there? That's what I want to know.
SPEAKER_00We didn't get to see that. That's what sucks.
SPEAKER_04Yes. You know what you mean? And that's how I feel about Jen. Jen feels like chat GBT to me.
SPEAKER_00You think so?
SPEAKER_04Yeah, because she has no hobbies, no personality.
SPEAKER_00That's what that's what I see.
SPEAKER_04Yes.
SPEAKER_00Gabe was heir.
SPEAKER_04Exactly. Yes. And I think all the boys out there are kind of heir.
SPEAKER_00I just love Caleb.
SPEAKER_04And like, if I'm being honest, like Zach, at least, like, he talks about his cats. And like he kind of does have a personality. Like, he talks about his life at home. And so like, yeah, and like, see, that's what I want to know more about is his life at home.
SPEAKER_00All of their lives. I literally know nothing about Corbin.
SPEAKER_04We know nothing about any of them. And so it's like, how could I really vote for these people or judge them?
SPEAKER_00Well, they might do family maybe if they do family day again, then that'll you'll know more about them.
SPEAKER_04That'll be nice.
SPEAKER_00Last year they their family got to come to the billboard.
SPEAKER_04That's cool. See, like, I really want to get to know like what like talk about your plants, talk about your family, talk about um your plants?
SPEAKER_00Is that what you said?
SPEAKER_04Yeah, because some of them have plants.
SPEAKER_00Casey. Yes. Remember, he was like, damn, that that door empty.
unknownThat door empty.
SPEAKER_04But like and like talk about your dogs, talk about your cats. Like, I feel like we hear about none of this.
SPEAKER_00We just hear about how attractive the other person in front of them is.
SPEAKER_04Yeah. Which we already know. Like, that's not like okay, girlfriend. We're on we're on episode 18.
SPEAKER_00Mm-hmm. Like, I'm sorry, but it comes out tonight.
SPEAKER_04Like, I want more. When time are you off tonight? Probably like nine.
SPEAKER_00Damn. Okay.
SPEAKER_04I'm always off late. Yeah. You know that. Yeah, I know. You know my schedule by now, though.
SPEAKER_00I know. Sowie.
SPEAKER_04It's okay.
SPEAKER_00Anyway, Love Island is good, and if you want tea, I highly recommend watching it because it's tea in real time.
SPEAKER_04And tea in real time. And it's laughs in real time. Yeah. Because all these memes are coming out every day according to a new episode.
SPEAKER_00It's so funny. So do you know how many episodes there are gonna be though? Did Claire tell you?
SPEAKER_04No.
SPEAKER_0037.
SPEAKER_04Really?
SPEAKER_00It was like 37 or 38. And then in like the fall, they do a reunion where every everyone that was on the show comes together. And it gets pretty messy.
SPEAKER_04Like just during that season?
SPEAKER_00No, it's an entire like two-hour episode of everybody just talking after Love Island is over. That season is over. So like once season eight ends, there'll be a reunion in New York City where everyone that was in season eight will meet up and have a reunion. And it gets messy. It gets like, why'd you tell the press this? Why'd you do this? Why are you lying about me? Why are you being a bitch?
SPEAKER_04Like it's do any of these people get together in the end?
SPEAKER_00Um, from last year, there are two couples that I think are really hot. Uh TJ and Iris. I showed you them. The one couple I showed you where I was like, this is an I a Love Island couple, and you're like, holy fuck! Where they were kind of like on each other. Look up TJ and Iris Love Island. I think they're fucking gorgeous. I think they're so pretty. I don't know. Maybe that's just me.
SPEAKER_04Yeah.
SPEAKER_00Right? They're so hot. They're so hot. Oh my god. They're together. It's been almost a year, but they're still together. I think there's three couples.
SPEAKER_04He looks like Gerard Butler. Oh, of course I would go for him. TJ?
SPEAKER_00Oh yeah. But there's three couples that are together still from last year, I think. So good amount. Um but yeah, there's a reunion, and then what there is I don't know if Claire told you about this either, but there's a lot of Love Island stuff in general. There's I feel like there's kind of stuff year-round almost, which is kind of nice. So they do Love Island in the summer, right? Couple months or however long it is, like June through July or whatever, or August or whatever, whenever the season ends, you know what I mean? And then they'll do the reunion, but then that spr the following spring, they'll do what's called beyond the villa. And that's about outside living room outside the villa, how things are doing then. It's just them living their lives. And it just like, why still, like, why'd you do this? Why are you lying about me? Why'd you tell this person this?
SPEAKER_04See, that would that way do you think that like, are they on the villa the whole time? Or do they like go off the villa and go into the city?
SPEAKER_00In the season, I think during the season. During the season, I think they're mainly at the villa. Okay. But there are other, there's another show called Beyond the Villa, where it has seasons, each season gets its own, like people choose from that season who they wanna, if they want to do it or not, and they'll do it. But yeah, it's it's definitely interesting. And I really need uh the host, Ariana Maddox, first of all, stunning. Oh my god. She is gorgeous.
SPEAKER_04Oh, I love it.
SPEAKER_00She is gorgeous. It's ridiculous. She has talked about how she wants more queer representation on Love Island.
SPEAKER_04Yes.
SPEAKER_00And I think it would be a great twist if Zach and Bryce started um hooking up.
unknownOh I know.
SPEAKER_04See, like, that's what I'm wondering. Like, how many people, how many of these people are bisexual?
SPEAKER_00Right, we don't know.
SPEAKER_04Like, maybe they want to get with a girl.
SPEAKER_00I think Anaya is so pretty.
SPEAKER_04Who was the do you remember the episode when they were all on the bed together?
SPEAKER_00The yeah, the one with the paint.
SPEAKER_04Who who was the yes, who was the girl that was kissing the other girl?
SPEAKER_00Oh, that was Melanie and um Anaya? Maybe Anaya. I know Trinity. I think it might have been Trinity or maybe it was Kata. I love Kata. She is she's so cunty. It's great. I love her Kata. I do, yeah, she's really cool. She's great. But like she's really mad at Zach right now.
unknownYes.
SPEAKER_00And I don't blame her. She's just like, okay, so I you can do it, but I can't.
SPEAKER_04Yeah.
SPEAKER_00Have you also noticed, like, when when remember you know that episode with the bed when Caleb came in? And then all these men kissed all those women, and the women were like, uh, who are all these men kissing? Who are all these women kissing our man's? And then they get so excited when a guy shows up, it's like, okay, they can't be happy about it, but the woman can.
unknownYeah.
SPEAKER_00You know what I mean? That's where it's kind of like bruh.
SPEAKER_04Yeah.
SPEAKER_00It's like it's it's only okay when they do it. That's where I'm like, I can't do that. But Zach's kind of a hypocrite.
unknownYeah.
SPEAKER_04And I don't really like that.
SPEAKER_00I don't I don't fuck with it. Um anyway. Uh I was gonna do book club questions, but does it sound like we're too far enough into our books to do those?
SPEAKER_04Book club questions also might spoil a lot of the book. So Yeah.
SPEAKER_00Um, but I don't have any shows or movies that I want to put on the wheel yet. I thought I was going to, but I don't. So maybe we can spin that another time.
unknownOkay.
SPEAKER_00But we will be spending that soon. But we
Special Announcement!
SPEAKER_00do have a fun announcement.
SPEAKER_04Sorry, huh? Sorry, I'm just like sorry, I'll put my phone away now. No, it's I'm like deep diving into Love Island characters. Yeah. Characters, people.
SPEAKER_00Sorry. No. Um, so we have a very exciting announcement. I don't know if you remember, but um we're having our first guests on the podcast.
SPEAKER_04Yes. In person. Which, you know, bear with us because this might be more of an experiment as to like where are they gonna set up. Yeah, we don't know.
SPEAKER_00We don't really know what we're doing yet. We might have to get an extra chair, but we have new microphones. I just got these.
SPEAKER_01Yep.
SPEAKER_00And we have four of them, so we're gonna bring them on. For those who don't know, Jinx and Kaylee are uh recently married, Mr. and Mrs. Peeler. And we're gonna have them on talk about a few things. They have seen the intimidation game and would love to talk about that. Perfect. And I recently watched that, and I think it'd be great if we all talked about that together. And if we want, we could talk about other things like you know, whatever it is. But it'll be a lot of fun, and I'm really excited. They're gonna be in town for a little bit, and I'm really excited to have them on as an honored that we're gonna have them as our first guests, which is gonna be very exciting, and they're really excited about it. So, on that note, I don't have anything else.
SPEAKER_04Do you not that I can really think of?
SPEAKER_00Yeah. Um I mean I think other than being excited for the new Love Island episode.
SPEAKER_04Yeah.
SPEAKER_00Not really much on my plate.
SPEAKER_04Yeah. I mean, I think maybe when they do come, they just sit in front of us. Because then we'll then we can point the camera down a little bit more and then just like shows all four of us. Kind of like those epic interviews with like I was gonna put a table.
SPEAKER_00We could put a table right here, we could put that table in between us, and we could all sit down. Or we could get that other chair and kind of just spread four chairs like this.
SPEAKER_04We could always move the f do the futon. Put the futon in front.
SPEAKER_00But there is no futon anymore. Futon's gone. It has a couch.
SPEAKER_04Oh shit.
SPEAKER_00I mean we could use the couch if we all fit on it, but that'd be kind of tight.
SPEAKER_04We might be able to because that, um that's right, because that uh Yeah? The little section part that moves around.
SPEAKER_00The Ottoman?
SPEAKER_04The Ottoman.
SPEAKER_00I got rid of that.
SPEAKER_04Why did I get rid of the Ottoman?
SPEAKER_00I hated it. I threw it away.
SPEAKER_04What did what did Claire think?
SPEAKER_00She didn't give a fuck.
SPEAKER_04Okay.
SPEAKER_00We'll figure something out.
SPEAKER_04I would have taken it home, but okay. Oh, I'm sorry.
SPEAKER_03No, that's fine.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, but yeah, we could we could do that. And then you and I can sit on the ends and then they'll sit in the middle. And like, you know, I've just like they're a newly married couple, so they can just sit closer together. It'll be fine.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, they're and they're really excited, which I'm really excited about it too.
SPEAKER_04Yeah.
SPEAKER_00So, but on that note, I don't really have anything else.
SPEAKER_01I keep yawning, I'm sorry.
SPEAKER_00But hopefully we dig deeper into our books to the point where we can talk about it without spoiling it.
SPEAKER_01Yep.
SPEAKER_00Um, so we'll talk about that maybe a little bit. Not next week, just because we're gonna be talking to them. But maybe more of the following week. And this is episode 20, which is really exciting. So 21, we'll have special I guess Jenkins and Kaylee Peeler. And then the following week we can talk about our books and any other news or updates, stuff like that.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, for sure.
SPEAKER_00Until then, we
Close
SPEAKER_00will see you guys next week.
SPEAKER_04Bye. Bye.
