Just one of these days. I was just scrolling on TikTok, and it was still when I lived downtown, Milwaukee. And I came across him on TikTok. I was like, this is such a cool, like, it was like the you remember like the old trend of like who are you sitting with at lunch?

That that trend. He made a video. And he was like, it was like all Marvel characters. And I DM'd him. Didn't think I was gonna get a reply, by the way. I was just like, did your videos are so so like so sick? Been talking ever since.

Yeah. Well, I knew you were a real one too, because this is when I had like 5,000 followers. So and I had like none.

I was just literally just on TikTok. I didn't even really post anything. Yeah. But then you and I just tried to do a little bit of a pod. A little bit? But it was really hard.

Um, I just got married, as you said, which has been amazing. Okay. Uh marriage is fun, especially when you're marrying your best friend, so I highly recommend. Um, what else has been going on? Uh I just recently got back from the Supergirl World premiere, which was really fun in New York City. So I've seen that. I recommend going to see Supergirl. It's really good. Um, I don't know. That's pretty much it. I'm doing good. Mm-hmm.

Yeah, so Kyoshi. Kyoshi is, um, she was uh born of the Earthbenders, I believe. Correct me if I'm wrong on any of this, but yeah, she was born from the Earth Bender from the Earthbenders, and then her story was she became the Avatar, but she her girlfriend.

Kora Korra is also, I think it's a little bit ambiguous at the end, but it's it's heavily implied that her and there's a girl named Masami end up together.

Because they end up going to the uh the spirit world.

The spirit world, yeah. Oh they quite literally walk off into the sunset together. Quite reminds me of how the show ends. Spoiler.

That's okay. I was just told that Legend of Korra isn't as good. As Avatar? Yeah, no, yeah.

Because you have Avatar Last Servender, and that is an incredible story with a crit with incredible, very well-written characters, and then you have Legend of Korra, where Korra, first of all, breaks the cycle of the avatars, and then loses all of her power and kind of destroys every relationship that she has, and just it's not very it's darker for sure. Like there's a scene where um one of the airbenders is literally sucking the air out of somebody's lungs to suffocate them.

And this is a kid's show, but yeah, the the villains are really cool in Korra, I will say. I like the villains a lot. Okay. Because there's an it's not like um Avatar Last Airbender where it's like one continuous story. Each season is kind of its own contained story. Okay.

Which is not as good to me. But there's also a scene. Do you remember in Avatar Last Airbender, in season three, there's a guy, uh Combustion Man, who can like shoot the little spark out of his head?

He calls him Sparky Boom Sparky Sparky Boom Man. Saka calls him that. Oh yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. So there's a guy like that in Korra, and they and she encases his head in like in like something, and then he he sets his thing off and his head explodes. Yeah. Oh my god.

And this was on Nickelodeon?

Yeah. That's wild. That's crazy to me. Yeah. I mean, I don't know much about it.

But what's interesting about Legend of Korra is that you know Avatar Last Airbender takes place during a time where there's like still tribes. There's no like Basing Se is like really like the only city, and then you have the Fire Nation, which is governed by itself. And but it's during a time when really everybody is like genuinely separated, and they don't have like a big government on their own.

And so they do need somebody to be there, to be the avatar. Okay. But then you get to the Legend of Korra, where society has really brought itself up, and you know, there's there's cities, there's police, there's government, there's a very well-organized society without the avatar without the avatar.

And so it kind of comes to a point where it's like, do we really need the avatar anymore? Because everybody can just govern themselves. They don't need that one person to control everything.

Yeah, Aang kind of brought world peace and like created these cities to where like they can function on their own.

So we need to be educated.

Um have you seen the live action airbender? I've not the movie, not. Just to clarify. That doesn't exist. There is no live action airbender. Um did you watch that, Sarah?

I watched the first season.

Oh, yeah, I've seen it. Well, I skipped through it until the end.

Because it was bad?

It was so bad. It took it there's a scene where it took five firebenders to move a flame.

Whereas like in the show, it's actually great because they actually do use martial arts and are in the live action? Yeah. They're they're do actually doing the movements and they're actually like studying how to move like that. And then they just fill in with CGI.

Yeah. It's not bad. What I didn't like about it, which I understood why they couldn't do it, is because so many TV shows nowadays are like eight episodes or ten episodes. Whereas like I would have loved to see more of the plot of each episode from the original show into live action, but instead they just kind of skip through a bunch of parts and like combined five episodes into one. So that's kind of what irritated me.

But I also think the the relationships in season one weren't done very well. Like there was no Qatar and Aang situation. Oh, yeah. There's no like I feel like Aang didn't have a good relationship with any specific character. They kind of kept him removed, but season two fixes that.

Season two is a good one. Season two is good.

I like season two. I like season two more than I like season one. Obviously, it's not as good as the animated show, and it never will be.

Um, but it's better than season two. But you got Toph now. You do have Toph, and Toph is really cool and like that. She does look sick.

Because she was supposed to be like a child.

I think what they're trying to do is because in the animated show, Aang and Toph are the same age.

Yeah, and she's actually, I don't know if you've seen the actress that plays Toph, has like gone like through some stuff during the filming of this, like with her family and like financially and stuff. She kind of got like really screwed over. So I feel really bad for her. But she does a great job in the show. She's a really good Toph.

Yes. But damn. Yeah, it's a good movie. It's very dark. It's dark. Um, but there's a lot of good humor in it too, which I really love. Yeah. Just when he writes to Winston Churchill and then fires everybody. Yeah. That was always my favorite part.

But like it was it was good, but it was also like I don't know how to describe it, but it's definitely not as like heavily gay focused. No. But it's still really good.

Yeah. It it just it shows what it's like to be gay in that time. In that era, yeah. Whereas like like I said earlier with the Stonewall riots, like, not in the in the in this episode, but like before we were filming. Off screen. Off screen. Off screen when we were talking about the Stonewall riots and how like even if you dress differently, you'd be arrested.

Well, I'm a history nut, as you know. I have my bachelor's in history, and one of my favorite times in history is World War II. So, obviously a movie about World War II. Binaday Cumberbatch is my favorite actor. So a Binadet Cumberbatch movie about World War II, right? Yeah, Sherlock is my favorite show of all time. Have you seen that?

Okay. He plays a very similar character to Sherlock, where he's like so smart that he kind of disassociates from people.

Um but it's more of a in a shy way in imitation game.

Yep. It's more like I understand that I'm an outcast, and so I don't really have a lot in common with normal people. So I don't know how to communicate with them, so I can't really make friends.

Until he meets um the one lady friend, which I can't remember her name.

But yeah, and then they they become good friends. Yeah. Up all the way up until she's married and has kids and everything.

And so and I was pointing out to Sarah, correct me if I'm wrong, but I feel like you would know this. Okay. Didn't Will do a project on him?

Yes. You mean in Stranger Things? Yes. Yeah, yeah, which is w which is one of the first things that people like he's gay. Yeah, yeah, yeah. In season four, he did a project on Alan Turing, and people were like, oh, this is a hint of him. You know, because this is before he had said it, obviously, because this is that was season five.

Yeah, but I noticed that, and that's when I learned about Alan Turing. I didn't know who he was. I I had no idea who he was. And I think it was cool because like because how did he die? It wasn't like was it the conversion stuff? The conversion stuff?

Yeah, it was the pills that he was taking. That's crazy. Well, he I think he killed himself because it was making him.

Uh god. Yeah, because it was making him go crazy. So he just got to go.

Yeah, because at the end of the movie it like shows like a little description of what actually happened to him or like what happened ap after the events of the movie.

Well yeah, wait, didn't he wasn't he laying in bed and he I'm sorry, this is gonna get dark, but wasn't he laying in bed and he shot himself, but he had taken a bite out of an apple and left it on his nightstand, and that was the inspiration for the Apple computer. I am no idea.

That could be true. I know that his the machine that he builds in the movie is like the early version of the computer. Yeah, yeah. It was like that he like basically started the movement to create the computer or whatever. So that's possible. I'd have never heard that. That's cool.

Yeah, like I didn't know much about like the movie itself either. I just figured it was like, oh, it's a gay movie. He doesn't even have a lover. Like he doesn't he doesn't have a boyfriend or anything. He's just it's just kind of like a side plot. It's not a role. He does when he's a kid.

Y Yeah, for some viewers. For some viewers it is. For him, it's probably amazing.

Yeah. It's very like if you're into like just dialogue.

And like kind of cinematography, you would like it, but it there's not it's not like action big things happen.

It's kind of just that's kind of the same way it is with imitation game. Yeah. But there's not a whole lot of action there, it's just a lot of yeah, dialogue.

It's very similar to imitation game. So if you like that, you'd probably like open high.

No, I haven't. Oh, okay. But I do I I mean, I used to I went through a huge phase when I was phase when I was younger, but I have seen a lot of World War II movies. And granted, there I know there's still a lot out there.

But like the war movies are what I grew up on. And so I one of my favorites is Hacksaw Ridge.

That was really great.

That was my middle school. That was my favorite movie in middle school. I've also read the book in middle school, but I don't remember any of it because that was dumb. But um, and then oh 1917 is good, but that's what it was.

That's like that's all in one shot. That's like a one-shot movie. That is a good movie. Claire showed it to me and I thought it was great.

Granted, it's not filmed all in one shot, but it's edited to look like it's made to look like it is, yeah.

Oh, Claire made it sound like it was filmed in one shot. It's not filmed in one shot. It looks like it's filmed in one shot, but they have like cuts that you don't see. Yeah.

Yeah. So biggest the biggest cut that you'll notice in the movie is when he gets knocked out.

Yeah, exactly. Exactly. But yeah, no, Imitation Great. I can't say it. Imitation Game is a great movie. I really like that. I love it.
