SPEAKER_12Initializing. Stand by. Cambridgeshire. Norfolk. Suffolk. Essex Hertfordshire. New news generator. New news generator. New news generator.
SPEAKER_17I woke up in the sun on the floor of a train. Never again. I said second hand. Salvation for free. The lads throw up this with a pint in the hand. When I go slow, halo smelling cigarettes and every word is a gamble. Every word is a death. Just a sleep of the truth. That's what you give to a stranger. Who looks like the life you're living? You don't beg for forgiveness. You don't answer the phone. You just wait from the side until you finally alone.
SPEAKER_08It's coming for you. It's coming for you.
SPEAKER_01You are very welcome to the programme wherever, whenever you are listening. My name is Tim Willet. I will be your host for those two hours as we go through the uh counties of East Anglia playing you some of the latest music releases. We're going to be in Norfolk, we're going to be in Suffolk, in Cambridgeshire, in Essex, in Hertfordshire, and in Bedfordshire as we always are. That first track we played you was from Speakeasy, you're a Colchester and It's Richard-based group. And the track came out last week. The video for it we premiered on the show last week. And if you are watching us on YouTube, then you saw that video again. And there's lots more videos coming up on the show. So if you are uh watching us, then you'll be able to enjoy that. If you're listening to us on the radio or on a podcast, then you can check back on our YouTube feed, it is archived at our YouTube channel at New Music Generator. Um and if you are there, would you give us a follow or a subscribe or whatever it's called on YouTube subscribe, I think. Uh we are, I think we're now ten, eleven, twelve or something away from my latest target of two hundred and fifty subscribers. And it'd be very nice if we could make it. So uh thank you very much in advance. If you are watching us uh live as we go out on this Wednesday evening, then you are most welcome to get involved in the comments on YouTube and I'll read those out. You can also get in touch with us via email inbox at new musicgenerator.com. We have a very busy show for you today. Last week I went to the Suffolk show just outside Ipswich and I caught up with Ross Stewart and Jess and Dick for a group interview. And we're gonna hear that in about half an hour's time. It is Strawberry Fair in Cambridge this weekend. We are three days away from that event, uh Saturday, the 6th of June on Midsummer Common. We will, in case you haven't heard, uh be there this year with our own stage in collaboration with our good friends at Brewboard, and we'll remind you of the lineup and all the times that you need to know for that later on in the show. We'll also talk about Instagram Music Day. They announced their lineup of artists the other day, and also Festival 2 and our involvement with that, and also Alex Fest in Cambridge are looking for artists to apply to the play for that that's coming up later on in the summer. So we'll mention that. And of course we'll play you latest music from the involved, uh including new to the playlist um from Sam Mill and the Tyrant, um and also from Evil Temple, and uh Katie Richards and Sophie Holloway will also play you new music from Pink Serene, uh SJ Mortimer, and Chance for Good, Fraser Morgan, we've got George Bones' new single as well, uh new stuff from Far from Refuge and from Seasons 2. So plenty coming up for you in the next couple of hours. I should probably shut up and uh continue to play you some music. These guys are from Peterborough, they really released the underside last week, and it sounds like this.
SPEAKER_08Oh, she likes the night Won't get up to see the sunrise, crowds to scroll on by the pain, all this talk the rain and sounds outside Shops fit to the people out tonight Days are getting longer Maybe it's start to see the light I need to get new veggies all on me because left on mine Well I'm carrying a left to case Waller fills my face Well it's been fire Well I love those on its way to rain downside Jamaic Days are getting longer Maybe it starts to question why I don't know how I felt home Maybe I went too hard last night Or she's telling me that she waited Oh that she waited for this day When I asked it what to go She had something else to say with the rain and times outside Chapter space, and I'm gonna go to the book.
SPEAKER_01So the third single from the band. The next gig is at Charters in Peterborough on the 21st of this month. Then they're playing on the 26th at 33 and a third in Peterborough, and finally on the 28th of June, they're playing uh Here We Aren't in Peterborough. So Peterborough is the place to be for the Portland, I think Portland, think of Peterborough. This is the new music generator. If you want to send your music in to us, we have an inbox ready and waiting for your music. If you are an artist from our coverage area and you have a new original track to send in to us, then please feel free to do so. You could be featured on the show. This is what you need to do.
SPEAKER_12To submit your music to the show, email an MP3 or WAV file to inbox at new musicgenerator.com. Ensuring you include a short biography and links to your social media.
SPEAKER_18All submissions from within our coverage area in East Anglia will be considered for airplay.
SPEAKER_01And that is exactly what this next band did. Good afternoon, reads this email sent to us last uh Thursday. I'm Sam from Sam Mill and the Tyrants, an up-and-coming indie rock band from Ipswich. I've been seeing a lot of your work uh that you've been doing on your radio show. And friends of mine, such as the Detour and Chance We Good, have been played um, have admired your showcase for quite a while, giving a platform to some of my favourite local acts, also like Icarus and Hedgehack. I'd love to be a part of your radio show and get this opportunity amongst a company that I held very close to my heart. Well, Sam, welcome. You found us. I've seen your name on posters and things as well. Um but you know, it takes one of us to make a first move. And you are uh you are the one that did. Uh Sam has sent through the band's latest release called Artifact, which has already surpassed two and a half thousand streams in the month that it has been released. They have already got a four-track EP out as well, entitled Window. So they are from uh Ipswitch, and they're called Sam Milne and the Tyrants. If you want to find them on Instagram, it is Sam Milne and the Tyrants or one word uh on Instagram. I won't spell it for you. I think probably you can find it yourselves. Uh but this is their latest single release called Artifact.
SPEAKER_26I'm the right kid's step, lost brother, lost me, that's me sky not change Loginna Sword, login up pretty that you like this, don't need you to watch.
SPEAKER_01A lot. Love, in fact. Uh, for those of you don't know, if you're a new listener to the show, I don't tend to pre-listen to things that get sent in. I tend to like to listen to them. At the same time, I play them to you, the audience, so that you can get my genuine reaction. I'm really impressed with that track. That's Sam Milne and the Tyrants. It's called Artifact. Hello to John from the band, who is in the YouTube comments. Like that. We'll have to play some more. Sam send some more stuff through. And you mentioned you've got another single coming out at some point in the future, so we'll uh we'll definitely jump on that. But any previous stuff from your back catalogue as well, feel free to send it through and spread the message uh to other bands from the area or any other bands that you come across on the local scene. Always happy to meet new bands and uh play as many artists on the show as we can. Um and Sam got in touch with us just before the 31st of May deadline that was for nominations for the NMG Awards for this year. So if you have not yet got in touch with us and sent a new track, a new release through, uh then unfortunately you won't be nominated for an NMG Award in 2026 because the deadline passed on Sunday. Um but if you have been in touch with us, um you doesn't the track doesn't have to have been played. If you sent it before the 31st of May and there's still stuff to send in the inbox um for the next couple of weeks that we won't get a chance to play today, then it will still be eligible for our um NMG Awards nominations that will be released in July. End of July. Middle of July, end of July. Um if you've been playing the show doesn't mean you get nominated, it means you can be nominated and the NMG awards. Rebel Land is the response to the track to make those people understand. Explore yourself who you are, and who you want to be. Through the system, through the rules. Rebel Land awakening your enemies. You only get one life to you. You want to be Rebeland, you can make that joy. And hint of the early art that monkeys from the high Rebel Land present a fun, unique sound that refuses uh refuses to take itself too seriously. It's reminded to be open-minded, to take a leak, take a dare, it ain't cheap, but no one cares the lyrics. As we take frontman will heebles, and on our way to Rebel Land, we realise it will fit right in. The band are called Burnout Radio, and this, in case you hadn't got it by now, is their new track called Rebel Land.
SPEAKER_11Oh yeah, it's a few listed boom, I feel what the boom Come on now Yeah, I want to take out a woman's gold It's a bell if it's falling, don't tell you the woman Yeah, baby I'll take you to ribbon, and I'm baby a dog.
SPEAKER_10Ain't it great to be a living ghost, so happy and so free So classy to close Ain't it great to be a living ghost So happy and so free So classy to close Do you want the five It's got you both away
SPEAKER_01Like that, new music from Colchester in Essex. That is Rebel Land by Burnout Radio. Next, we're heading over to Norfolk for a new track from Aidan, Michael, William, and Advite. They are Pink Serene, a band that we were first introduced to on this show in March of last year. This track is releasing on the 5th of June. It's called Dissonance, and it's inspired by Muse and Lincoln Park. We've aimed to follow the style of their song, uh our song Ghost Train, they say, um, which is a fan and band favourite, maintaining the aggressive energy and catchy riffs. This song was recorded through late last year at the band's homes, apart from the drums, which are recorded at Blaze Studios. It's the first song that we've had fully mixed and mastered ourselves, and are proud to finally bring it out. We hope you enjoy. Well, let's have a play, shall we? This is Dissonance from Pink Serene. I love that. Love that track. Uh love the Lincoln Park stuff in there. The sort of the I don't know what you would describe it, but sort of the not the singing, it's almost spoken, it's fast, it's less stuff, you know, the stuff that Lincoln Park have done. Um, yeah, definitely Muse and Lincoln Park inspired in that track. That is, and I have been a fan of Pink Serene since we first started playing them, but that is the best track that I've heard from those guys yet. It is out on the 5th of June. Highly recommend that you go and stream it and go and see those boys play live. Next time you can do so, flying the flag for the very vibrant Norwich music scene. That is Pink Serene and a new track called Dissonance. If we get time, we won't get time. Uh we'll play it again later, but we won't, but I'll definitely be playing that again next week. That is for sure.
SPEAKER_12You're listening to the new music generator with Tim Willard.
SPEAKER_01Last Thursday I went over to the Trinity Park showground in Ipswich for Suffolk Show, and I met up with a couple of live performers uh that were on the uh the stage there that we were involved with last week, and they were Jess and Deck and Ross Stewart. I caught up with them backstage and I was going to do an interview with each of them, and I thought actually, no, we'll just do an interview with them both at the same time. I'm backstage at the Suffolk Show 2026, and uh two NMG supported artists have been here this afternoon performing live for us. We have Ross Stewart's. Hello there, and we have Jess and Deck.
SPEAKER_19Hiya. Hello.
SPEAKER_01Hello. Um, nice day for uh well we've we've me and Ross were just talking. He asked me, he said, do we call this a festival? Do we classify this as a festival to go? As when you said we've got lots of festivals coming up. Uh and immediately I said no. But then I thought about it for a minute and I thought, actually, yeah, we can probably call this a festival.
SPEAKER_19I was like, is it just a show? Because it's the Suffolk show, but I suppose it is. I mean it's got all the components, hasn't it? I don't know. It's very cool.
SPEAKER_00In a slightly different order, but it's got all the components, yes, yeah. Just with animals. With animals, yeah, exactly.
SPEAKER_01It's like a festival, but with more. There's food trucks here, there's a stage here, like this area. There might be a tractor over there, but you know, you don't see that many. Well, you probably do see them at Glastonbury. Actually, you're probably probably pulling people out of the mud and more than anything else. But um, yeah, so no, I would say we'll call this a festival, and there's festival vibes, it's lovely weather. Um your first festival of the summer? If we're gonna call it one? Or have you done one already? I think so.
SPEAKER_00I can't remember, honestly.
SPEAKER_01Maybe? Well, we've not been long when we're te technically this isn't even summer, but I mean the weather will go with it.
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_01I would say it is then. It's probably probably is, yeah. Have you played outdoors anywhere this year?
SPEAKER_00Oh Teb, you put me on the spot now. You can't. I don't think so. Right, okay.
SPEAKER_01Well you two have. And yeah, you've done a few already. You said you did two last weekend.
SPEAKER_19Yeah, we did. We did Stowe Fest and Fram Gala Fest last weekend. So I if they're if they're they call it festival, so I assume like whatever is called a festival is just yeah, but l outside things. We did a few outside things a few weeks ago where it wasn't that sunny like this, so that was kind of not quite as well. It wasn't quite as pleasant, yeah. But uh but this last weekend has obviously been very hot and sunny, so that's been lovely, lovely to play festivals for, and obviously this is perfect weather today, so very good.
SPEAKER_01And where the stage is here is sort of in a little courtyard with lots of food vans around, so it's a good captive audience. You've got people having their lunch and watching you play live. Um you guys did, you Ross did predominantly original original stuff with a cover or two thrown in, and you did a few covers with a couple of originals. How do you kind of when you come to something like this, do you kind of gauge the vibe as to what the set list is going to be like?
SPEAKER_19Yes. That's 100% what we do. I don't know if you're the same, but yeah.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, I a few years ago I gave up writing set lists. Uh I I don't I used to have a set list for every gig that I did, now I don't uh unless it's like a really important one. I just come, I look at the audience and I figure out the order. And I always try and do a cover, but what the cover is depends entirely on the room.
SPEAKER_08Yeah.
SPEAKER_19We um sometimes we we always still write a set list because people always laugh at us because loads of people do it on their phones, whereas we like always write a little paper one because we like keep them all. Um and we normally write it all and then we always change it because we'll be like oh every single time. Yeah, and we were gonna do another original or two today, and then we were like the um it just seemed like a lot of I don't know, we were like, oh it seems like it needs some more covers vibe from uh yeah.
SPEAKER_01You came in and what what was it that made you think, I know this looks like a Hotel California crowd to me. Let's play that.
SPEAKER_19You can just tell, can't you? When there's some dads, it's like you know, there's like dads with a pint, and you're like eagles.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, your dad's song. Is that your dad's gonna be?
SPEAKER_19Yeah, we've we do quite a few. If we do like a two or three hour geek with a so we do like Sweet Child and Mine, and we do like an acoustic you give love a band name and all the dads. With that one, the classic role. Yeah, yeah, exactly. We do like some spring scene, just like loads of dad vibe ones, but we were like, oh Hotel California, that that's summary. Yeah, so we actually changed that for an original, and when we were gonna add another one in, but we were like, oh no, we'll just yeah. It seemed like a covers, like a nice mix was the right kind of thing. I don't know.
SPEAKER_01But it's important to do original stuff here because you are predominantly artists, and so it's nice to get that out there. Um, and then as you follow it up, as you say, follow us on social media, and then they can go and find where your new release is, or you you two mentioned that you got a video for it as well, so people can go and find find that on YouTube as well. I think it's important. Um Ross said, he looked over at me during his set and said, Shall I do an old song or a new song? And I said, Do a new song. And also, this is a good environment to try out new material, isn't it?
SPEAKER_00Uh oh yeah, definitely. Um I kind of you know the the audience is sort of in that half listening, half uh involved, very heavily involved in the burger that they're having. So it's kind of those if there's a couple of voice breaks, which there were, uh you can kind of get away with it. Yeah.
SPEAKER_01But I I I enjoyed it, it's the first time I heard it. It wasn't quite in the right key, I understand, but still it was good.
SPEAKER_00It was a little a little bit high than uh a little bit higher than it usually is, but I uh I was just trying to impress you, Tim. That's that's what it was.
SPEAKER_01Well you did that. Um what else have you guys got coming up? Ross, as we record this, you've announced some exciting news today.
SPEAKER_00Yes, uh as of today I have announced that I will be um playing Festival 2 uh with uh on the lineup with the Hoosiers and the Proclaimers, which I'm very, very excited for. Very excited. Um and then a little bit sooner than that I will be playing Strawberry Fair next week in Cambridge. Um and some other bits and pieces.
SPEAKER_01First Light Festival.
SPEAKER_00And First Light Festival, yes. Can you cut that bit out where I hesitated? Uh yes, I've got first light festival in three or so weeks, which I'm really excited to. I'll be on the uh new unsigned stage. So joining a lot of other very, very awesome artists.
SPEAKER_01Do you know if that's indoors or outdoors?
SPEAKER_15No.
SPEAKER_00You can say no. I think it's outdoors, but this that stage didn't exist last year. So um I think it's new this year, so I can't speak with all certainty. I think outside.
SPEAKER_01I'll have to come and find you. There's a reason is because you never can predict the weather. It's unseasonably warm now. Next week, I think if we stood here this time next week, I think we'd all be cold and wet by the looks of the weather forecast. So it does vary a lot. Um so it's good to have you know that knowledge before you turn up as to what the uh what the stage is gonna be like. What have you guys got coming up next?
SPEAKER_19Uh we've got a few kind of random places here and there for the next couple weeks, a few pubs and little local events and stuff. And then I think the next big thing we've got is NFE, which is like Cambridgeshire, isn't it? Uh and that's on the 27th of June. And that looks quite good. That was that's kind of the the next big thing that we've got. And then again, random, we've got sort of uh 18 things booked, but a lot of like random things up here and there. And then at the end of August, we've got the East Anglian Beer and Cider Festival, which is at Berry Cathedral. Um and we're on the last year we played in the Cathedral Kave, and this year we've been asked to play the main stage outside in the cloisters, which was like pretty big last year, so I think that'll be the biggest stage that we've played, and also in the Cathedral Knight the next day, and then like Suffolk car show and some some sort of uh a vineyard.
SPEAKER_01How did you get all these? Are you just literally writing emails to every event you can see, or do you do you know some of the people that organise them? Because you you do have, and you look at your list of festivals and the gigs you play generally. It's quite an eclectic mix of stuff on there.
SPEAKER_19It is, yeah. I think last year we kind of because we've been playing the duets for for years and when we were friends and stuff, but then when we got together and we were like really wanting to push it more, we kind of uh harassed loads of people being like, where can we play? And then I think we did that a lot last year, played the most that we ever have last year, and then that has rolled onto this year a little bit. Or even if it didn't, even if we're not playing the same places, because a lot of them are new. Someone's contacted us and said, This person saw you here and they want to. So that's actually been really good. Some of them, I mean, we have like obviously put the thing in and done the applies and applies. We've done a lot of emails and yeah, and like responding to things. Uh like we had yeah, Weird and Wonderful Wood was through that, and there's another one which I haven't even told you yet, because which we got asked for yesterday. Uh which is like a like a little kind of hippie festival in Norwich at some point. Yeah. So those ones have been like through the hippie festival. Yeah, I can't remember what it's called. Something tree fair. Um yeah, but like a tree fest. Yeah, exactly. Uh but a lot of them have been like, oh, so and so's uncle saw you here and they organise this thing, so well that's good.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. People like you and they're recommending you to other people, that's always nice. That's the highest form of um recommendation that you can get when somebody's recommending you because they've seen you already.
SPEAKER_19Yeah, it's just a nice bonus, like we always say. We would literally, if no one wanted to listen to us, we'd just do it in the living room every night anyway. So if anyone wants to listen, that's a nice bonus, isn't it? Because we just do it to each other all the time, so it's lovely. Yeah, it's really cool.
SPEAKER_01What about releases? Any more Jess? I know you've just done a band release. Any more Jess and Dexter?
SPEAKER_19Yeah, we've got one kind of ready to well, we've got the last little bit so we want to finish on your you're sort of finishing producing it, aren't you? Um and then kind of hoping to announce it within the next couple of weeks. We were kind of hoping to get it done by the end of May for you know the NMG. But uh with the band one and yours and the music and stuff, we just didn't have time. We were like, we it would have been rushed if we did. So yeah, uh Caught by the Dawn, which we did do today. That one is we'll be announcing soon. And then we've got another one, we've got a few more written, because we have we've only been writing originals for the last sort of year, haven't we? Uh so we've got a couple more written ready to sort of start recording and start staggering things in the next few months or so. But yeah.
SPEAKER_01Nice. Well you're in anyway, you didn't need to send anything else. So it's fine. Not saying not saying you're nominated, but you're in you're eligible to be nominated. I mean you won't talk to me again if I don't nominate you, so I'm sure you will be, but I'm not sure if you're brought up. Um you're fine. Because of the um the one you played well, I played before with the video. Um yeah, you're fine. I wasn't sure about it. You're fine. Yeah. Now you on the other hand, what have you released since last NMG Awards?
SPEAKER_00Nada. Nada. It doesn't mean I haven't been busy, though.
SPEAKER_01No.
SPEAKER_00No, I have been writing. Um I've actually been uh trying to focus on writing more. Uh and I have been recording. There are there are songs that are recorded, but I shan't say when they're coming out because I don't know. Um I think I'm just taking a little bit of time to um make sure that all the ducks are in a row before uh before pursuing another release. Um because it always feels like a game of catch-up with releasing music, and so for my next releases I would like to feel in control and feel, you know, like I've I've got the materials and the campaign and everything sorted out beforehand. Um but there is music, um, as I have evidenced for you today. Uh so there is it is there. Um and hopefully by the time you start to hear it coming out, there'll be trolls more of it to follow shortly.
SPEAKER_01Alright, thank you very much for chatting. Nice to see you both play live. Nice to see you in this lovely outdoor, nice sunny environment. And I'll see you all again soon.
SPEAKER_00Adios.
SPEAKER_01So we've subsequently decided that because Ross released his live album um earlier on this year, that that does make him eligible because it was uh new material, new newly recorded material. Um so he's in on a technicality, and um you may have heard us mention in there, I can't remember if I put it in there or I edited it out or not, but uh Ross is going to be playing at Festival Two uh in a few um months' time or so, just uh about six weeks' time, uh, which is a slot that he won via the NMG Awards. Each year we get asked to select an NMG Award-winning act to be on the Festival Two lineup. It's a big free festival that happens in Kingsland, and Ross just happens to be on the lineup supporting the proclaimers um being a Scottish artist, it just had to be, didn't it? And the Hoosiers as well. Um so that's very good, that's very exciting, and Jess and Deck, since we recorded that, uh, are gonna be supporting SJ Mortimer at her single launch show, The Anchor in Cambridge on Friday, and we will play S.J.'s new single coming up very soon. Now though, we're gonna play you a vintage roster track.
SPEAKER_15This is Sweet Morning Sweet, sweet morning line. I haven't seen you in a while. I made friends with the night time, and I left you behind Sweet, sweet morning Did you forget about me? And no we didn't know we'd make the best of choices You make me wanna stay alone, right, only sweet sweet morning.
SPEAKER_01If you're a fan of Ross Stewart in a dressing gown and uh tartan trousers, then I recommend you check out the music video for Sweet Morning.
unknownSweet, sweet morning.
SPEAKER_01Uh that is uh Ross and Sweet Morning, a track from his uh previously released EP from was that last year or was that the year before it was last year? Uh very good indeed. Ross will be at Festival 2. He will also be with us at Strawberry Fair and another actually event to tell you that he's on coming up in a little while's time. Also joining us at Strawberry Fair on Saturday will be Performing some brand new material. It is a new single. It will be released on Friday ahead of Ruby Fair with a single party of the Anchor in Cambridge. And if you come along to our stage on Saturday afternoon to see SJ play live, we should also have some more exciting news for you. This track is called Late Bloomer.
SPEAKER_07Always been a real thing dreamer lived by my own car. Back at school, I wanted to be older, then I grew up, but that was then. This is now. I still don't know what I'm doing it somehow. I'm no loser. I'm a hate. Life can be so much. I need some time for peace and crush. I not get there any sooner, but I'm happy being a late bloomer. A lay bloomer. We are all strange, unique creatures making our own way. The cyber world keeps getting meaner. We're okay, I guess. I digress, and now I'm stressed. It's okay to get some rest. Study on rocks. Love can be so much. I need some time. I need some get there any sooner. I'm I'm get there any sooner. I'm happy being a lay bloomer.
SPEAKER_01Brandy music from S.J. Mortimer from Cambridge. An artist that we've been featuring on NMG since pretty much we started as a solo act. And also with her band Morgan Way, who uh won a special achievement award at the NMG Awards a couple of years back. That is new, Late Bloomer, out very soon indeed, and you can see her play live at Strawberry Fair on Saturday, the 6th of June. I don't know why I'm saying the date anymore, because it's this Saturday on the Brewboard NMG stage, which is gonna be the largest fan of undercover area on the flight. So if the weather does take a turn for the worst, it could rain. Then you know where to come. You will be coming from the end of the there anyway. Combine. Combine, say hello. Right, new music from Fraser Morgan dropped a few weeks ago. This is called the Revolution's Coming.
SPEAKER_26There's a fire in our hearts and a fist in our pockets. So raise them up to the air and fight for this equalist, hate the power, and give it back to the people. Are you working all the time? Yeah, you can't make your rent. Two hardly leave the house, yeah. All your money spent. What a super it should do in fine. Yeah, you can't feed yourself. But it's time to fight the inequality of wealth. For the revolution's coming now, you ain't gonna stop it. There's a fire in our hearts and a fist in our pockets. So raise them up to the air and fight for what is equal. It's take the power and give it back to the people. We're tired all the time, but we've now had enough. We're sick of all your lies, and now we're calling out your bluff. You can try to distract us, but we know your tactics, you can shift the blame, or we're not gonna have it. All the revolutions coming, now you ain't gonna stop it. There's a fire in our hearts and a fist in our pockets. So raise them up to the air and fight for war. It's equal, it's hate the power and give it back to the people. Try to turn us on each other, but we will see right through. For everyone to see that the enemy is you, doesn't matter who you like or the colour of your skin, put a beating heart and the blood that runs within. For the revolution's coming, now you ain't gonna stop it. There's a fire in our hearts and a fist in our pockets, so raise them up to the air and fight for what is equal. It's take the power and give it back to the people.
SPEAKER_01Available now to stream, it's called the Revolutions Coming.
SPEAKER_05New music generator Robot boy Robot boy She's true, it's a doctor blue eyes, don't be food, a noble man into rough love, covered by green lip douche Don't want to be part of it I'm no good man like it perceived itself to me. But I'm a sinister winner, never gonna be a part of humanity. An honest opinion, no what a crime Are we hung at dawn? Are you a class delight? So we see you privilege, don't care. What you think is right is right, of course. We don't expect commission, I will fight for the reality.
SPEAKER_01They've released that track, it is actually the lead title of their new EP that they have released containing a lot of the singles we've played on the show over the last few months. Uh so dug that one out of the archive uh to play that one again to promote the EP, but it is um well, it's nearly two years old. Um and they're pretty young boys as it is, so they were even younger when they came up with that track. That's um really good. I've heard them play that live a lot. Um I've kind of forgotten how good the production was on the recorded version. And if sounds good and robot boy, uh they will also be with us in a story fair uh in a few days' time uh live in the afternoon if you are watching us on YouTube. Then every now and again we'll be running time if you'll be coming along. Um running from the hand on the recording. Hollow coming on in the next area. So that is all to come. Make sure you stay with us here on the new music generator this evening. Uh, we'll be right back.
SPEAKER_06Running laps around my mind, I'm a wasting my own time. Oh, but it's plain to see I'm even harder to decide. Just say the words that will go. Run away from these go. But your truth will set me free. But I can smell the victim from my head, stop getting no disturbing. Spend too much time on the edge of your eye, fancy not a bed, bad. I can hear the start that's going. Like so many tracks in your words, but you couldn't leave him alone, and I'm still blinded by your lies. Why you won't come overnight? And when you leave the bright red line, I'll still forget all of my life But I can stop the face turned on it. Stop getting away, you don't fix the witch. Spend too much time on the yet to die, and I've dead bed, gotta ride. I can hit the start, and go it up, I can get the time, I can get the night, I can over the night, don't we dive inside Lion with you in my bed, but the image of him won't escape my head, so I'll dredge my mind, leave you for dead. The night's edge won't escape you, yeah. Lying with you in my bed, but the image of him won't escape my head, so I'll dredge my mind, leave you for dead, the night's edge won't escape you, yeah.
SPEAKER_20Now to breakout in control is really not that hard.
SPEAKER_11So easy overwhelmed burning out some control beautiful game just all the time, so
SPEAKER_01This is the new music generator, and we're back with new music from Norwich band Read the Room, and that is called Discipline. They won an NMG Award Prize last year for a Van Heyer with Neon Street Touring. I wonder if any of the guys from the band are watching or listening tonight and can tell me if they've used the prize yet or not. It would be interesting to know if you've used it or if you've got plans to use it at some point in the next few months. That would be uh be interesting to know. Uh drop me a message. You can also drop me a message if you are uh listening to the programme this evening. Inbox at new musicgenerator.com. Uh you can get involved in the comments on the YouTube. Actually, I've just seen uh Alana from the band is in the YouTube comments. If you were watching on YouTube, you'll have seen the music video for that track as well. Uh so that is the uh new track from Read the Room, and uh they are inspired by the likes of Don Broco and Biffy Clyro. Discipline is an instant earworm propelled towards by uh forwards rather by its thunderous bass lines and powerful riff, showcasing a heavier side to the band. Discipline fizzes with an immense gritty energy as Frontwoman Alana's raw seething vocals rage throughout, reflecting on the personal feelings of guilt and frustration that can come with struggling with everyday tasks. Whilst being aware of the scrutiny the world is under right now, it offers a cathartic, impassioned release of the meaning behind the track. Um there we go. Played by the likes of John Kennedy at Radio X, featured on Louder Than War. Uh that track came out at the end of last month, and so there's a music video to go with it as well on YouTube, which I read this evening, is now the most watched platform or something. So, really, what we're saying is we're better off being on YouTube than we are being on on the BBC or Netflix or something. Uh so you know, welcome along. If you are on YouTube, give us a subscribe if you're not watching us on YouTube, go over to there at New Music Generator, subscribe to our channel. We'd love to get to 250 subscribers as quickly as we possibly can do so. Alright, there's just um under an hour left of the programme. We've still got plenty more for you, so we'll continue with this new track from Gardens of the Moon. Um this is Scott from the band who got in touch formerly of uh Iona Sky back in the day. Um and Jo is in the band and she's married to Scott. Um Scott was in the British IBM and also with Ollie Bruce and Iona Sky. You've got Ben, who's on guitar, and it says brackets in here because we because he's not married to Joe or Scott, and he wasn't in the British IBM, Oli Bruce's band or Iona Sky. It just says really good. It says really good at guitar. And Sandra on bass, who is brackets also really good. They're a mainly indie shoe gay's rock band, although this track is a little heavier than usual. They've released three songs so far. They hope to have a bunch more by the end of the year, and then gonna start playing some original sets around Cambridge very soon. This is Gardens of the Moon and Recall. If you put a false ending sort of 45, 30 seconds towards the end, I'm likely to suddenly jump in, jump out of my skin and go, oh, I need to speak, and I nearly did. I nearly opened my mouth and started speaking, turned the camera on. No, wasn't ready. Was it? Wasn't time. Uh good track though. Gardens of the Moon and Recall. And if you want to send in your music to us, like they have done, like everybody else that's on the show has done tonight, this is how to submit your music to the show.
SPEAKER_12Email an MP3 or WAV file to inbox at new musicgenerator.com. Ensuring you include a short biography and links to your social media.
SPEAKER_18All submissions from within our coverage area in East Anglia will be considered for airplay.
SPEAKER_01Thank you very much. Uh I'm now on Brooks Television. Very good. Am I on anybody else's television? If I am, send me a picture, Arm Vane. Inbox at newmusicgenerator.com with me on your television. Um we're heading over to Suffolk now to Felix Stowe to play you some music from a modern alternative folk duo called People Temple, who released their debut EP on the 30th of January this year. Uh this is Paul who got in touch with us to tell us about People Temple, which is a collaborative work of Suffolk's bass songwriters and musicians Paul Veal and Tom Snelgrove, which began at the start of the summer last year, drawing influence in various genres, including modern folk, experimental, psychedelic, composed rock. The music is often rich in melody and texture, weaving in and out of light and darkness. Um is a track taken from that EP. We won't be able to play the full thing.
SPEAKER_02Some shine with no trees.
SPEAKER_01If you want to listen to the full thing, then it's part of the band's EP Swimming, which is available to stream now, and that is Paul and Tom, aka People Temple, and they are based in Felix Dow in Suffolk.
SPEAKER_12You're listening to the new music generator with Tim Willard.
SPEAKER_01Time for brand new music now from George Bone, who will be joining us at Strawberry Fair at the weekend. He is one of the loveliest chaps you could ever wish to meet. And his new track is called Floating Away. It's the second track from his EP, his debut EP. It's a cinematic track that showcases George's genre crossing sound, resulting in a record both refreshing and timeless. It has uh has support from Introducing and uh also the new music generator. Oh, it actually put us in his press release like that. Uh the EP is called the Yes Man, which George told us about when he came on the show a few weeks ago. I was gonna say months ago, probably was months now. Uh if you missed that episode, you can find it in our back catalogue of podcasts on Spotify and wherever you get your podcasts from. Uh George came on the show and did a live session. This is brand new. It is out now, it came out on the 29th of May. This is George Bone and floating away.
SPEAKER_08I did not expect to hand you my keys. I did not expect you to action. This is just a joke.
SPEAKER_17This is just a fight. I know it'll get parts. That's just what you do when you want things to last when you go away.
SPEAKER_08I know you'd expect me to fall on Baby with slow. We were meant.
SPEAKER_17I guess we just needed some alone time to rest. That's what worked before.
SPEAKER_08I guess this is one time too many. And now you brought a style style.
SPEAKER_01Uh back then, but the fully produced version of the track is available now, taken from the EP Yes Man, that will be released later this year. You can see George play live for us at Strawberry Fair this Saturday. He will be opening up the stage at midday on Saturday, so there's no excuse. You need to be there early to catch George. The standard of music starts with George and the bar is set high from the very beginning. This is the new music generator where we're playing new music now from Robert Prince, who has sent through this new track that is released on Friday. The story, he says, actually started in the height of brick pop in 1999. I was 17, inspired by the golden era of British guitar music, and hopelessly in love with my new girlfriend, who was about to leave the country for a year. I captured all that raw hope, optimism, and uncertainty onto a two-track tape recorder and sent it with her. Fast forward 27 years, we're now happily married. I've reworked the song and I'm releasing it. Oh, Rob. That's nice. That's very beautiful. Even make somebody with a hearthstone like me feel emotional. Here's the video for Sunshine on YouTube if you're watching, and if you're on the radio or the podcast, here is the track out on Friday.
SPEAKER_09Till I met you You left me out my feet I feed Y'all picture on the wall Cause you're my best friend Don't think of you worth you know my friend We have we need to do it out of being off we need to do it all be all I know it's ahead but don't I wanna put a stop Look at me Don't worry about your problem There's too much bit of no buttons if you've not got the privilege of watching the music video then it's uh it's Rob and sometimes he's standing against a tree and sometimes he's lying in a vegetable patch, but I don't really know why.
SPEAKER_01Why are you lying in a vegetable patch, Robert? Uh that video is gonna be out uh on Friday. I did ask if we could play the video earlier for release, so don't go searching for it. If you want to see Rob lying in a vegetable patch, uh you can't until Friday, I'm afraid. Uh, but that track is available then. That's new music from Rob Prince out on the 5th of June. That tickles me. Alright, uh where are we now? Uh we've got another half an hour left of the programme. We'll go through the lineup for the Switch Music Day in a minute, but first, let's be reunited with an old friend, our old friend cab driver. This is John Knight, who used to drive taxis around Cambridge and found the show back in the day, and we used to play all of his music. He would be the lyricist, the songwriter, and he'd team up with various singers and producers from around the world, none of which he ever met in person, to create some really, really good music, and he's working with Matt G, who is based in Nashville. And the song that he sent us is called It's Alright to Cry. It's about a man recalling his life and love. Maybe he has admissions of doubts that he's too late to make amends and his loved one is with him to help him on his journey. I know it sounds kind of morose, but when you hear the song he says it feels like you're in the same dream as the subject. A delightful piece of work by Matthew, in fact, it is one of his favourites so far. The parameters are still the same in that you're um Oh, he's not sorry, he's asking me a question. Are the parameters still the same in that you're asking for new music from the area? Yes, John. Albeit Matt's in the USA, yes, but you're in Cambridge. After all, it's a bone defined collaboration. Uh yes, I probably didn't need to read that bit out on the air, but never mind. Um Cab Driver. Uh there we go. It's it's not called Cab Driver, it's just that he's the one that wrote the lyrics. He says it will be um published to the usual platforms and then released as a vinyl album, probably towards the end of next year or early 2028. Is he getting an exclusive here, folks? I don't know when it's going to be released on um streaming platforms, but uh you won't be able to get your hands on this as a vinyl track for another year and a half. This is Matt G, and it's all right to cry.
SPEAKER_22This deciduous love of mine, with its falling leaves of light, and the dark that tints my history is where desire comes to die. I'm still the mountain I once climbed in that tree laying in the stream, where I picked a star and fell in love. Your heart gave me my dream. It's all right to cry, it's alright to cry, or some of me I squander while I try to make you mine. So in the remnants of this nightmare, darling, give me back my time. I am all the faces you remember in a world that's long since gone, untrue, still linger on my tongue, while others will be gone by dawn, it's all right to cry. It's all right to cry. Now I'll calmly drill to heaven while I say a thousand prayers, though my soul will break when I get there, cause no one knew how much I cared. I had the music in my wild heart, now there's a quiet all around. I won't need you to come with me, darling. Just stay by me while I take my bow. It's all right to cry. It's all right to cry.
SPEAKER_01It's alright to cry. It's all right to cry. Lyrics from Cambridgeshire-based Cab Driver, focus and production by Matt G from Nashville.
SPEAKER_22It's all right to cry.
SPEAKER_01The Ipswich Music Day lineup has been announced for 2026. This is a free event that happens every first weekend in July, Sunday, the 5th of July, in this case, at Christchurch Park in Ipswich. The NMG supported acts who are on the lineup in 2026 are on the crossroads stage at midday, Modern Hayes, followed by George Bone at 12.45, Lara Price at 1.30, and the Portland at 2.15. Crowned Hyenas are on a bit later at 3.45, and Light Optimists are on at 6. On the Rye stage, you've got Tempest Raid at 1 o'clock, Ross Stewart's on at 3 o'clock. Um who else have you got elsewhere on other stages that we've played people from the Great Vine stage? Who we played uh recently, only a few weeks ago. Um and on the Pond stage you've got Eliza Delphin the Wilderness, Sam Milner and the Tyrants at 415, Running Club at 445. And that is it, I think, for I recognize it from an hour later.co.uk Sunday 5th of July. I went last year, the weather was rubbish. Uh not sure I'm gonna be able to make it this year, although the role is really good. Right, we are counting down to the uh final few tracks of the program, and this next track comes from Katie Richards, who got in touch with us as inbox at new musicgenerator.com uh with her track. She says, My name is Katie Richards, and I am nineteen brackets nearly twenty, because age is very important when you're that young. Just to clarify that you're nearly twenty, although don't wish away your life. Hang on to nineteen for as long as you can, Katie. I've been writing songs on my guitar for around three years now, and I'm excited to start sharing with them. I wrote this pop song in heart about overcoming insecurities surrounding love, and it's gonna be released on and she wrote this email a week ago, so it's now out on the 28th of May. So you can go and stream it now if you would like to do so. This is Katie Richards from Cambridge New Dragon, which is uh available now to stream. It is called In Park. Gavin Richards is a former colleague of mine who disappointed his allegiances and still knows where to get his daughter to send music to the best radio show that plays on the side music. This is imparts.
SPEAKER_04Closing myself off from the rest of the world, they don't get to see how I feel. I push you away in the name of staying safe. I find it hard to admit this is real. Cause if I start imagining what life with you could be, I'd find it hard to let it go if it's taken from me. Always watching from the sidelines as the others get their turn. I'm let down and discard it, but I never seem too life. I'll show you the stars you've never seen. Open up, trust me dear.
SPEAKER_08Hold my hand, and you will have no fear.
SPEAKER_04I want to say I believe because you're holding me so carefully.
SPEAKER_08You've got the wants to throw my heart You'd only pass I thought that staying away was my best chance Of making sure my heart stayed intact, but then you took me in the palm of your hand.
SPEAKER_04My was fizz come true. I don't know how to ask. If I start imagining what life with you could be, I'd find it hard to let it go if it's taken from me. Always watching from the sidelines as the others get their turn. I'm let down and discard it, Buddha never seems to lie. Take my hand and suddenly feel touched, warm sand, look in your eyes. It feels like home.
SPEAKER_08All the moments of a life I trust, I wanna say I feel because you're holding me so carefully. You've got the wolves, the mighty head, all the masking You don't leave it in place when you hold me you sudden toold me have no fear cause when I'm near I'll never let you go I'll try not to get in my head when I'm lying in dread Can't see the road ahead I'll think of a stinny said follow me, I'll show you the stars you would never see Open up trust to be dear Hold my hand and you will have no fear So now stay Happy Because you hold in peace of carefully You've got the walk with the love I like this very contemporary Light the production Little Evil It's called In Parts, it's by Katie Richards and it is available right now.
SPEAKER_12You're listening to the new music generator with Tim Willett.
SPEAKER_01Heading over to the Shotley Peninsula in Suffolk now for Sophie Holloway. Uh she says, While music was a big part of her teenage years, it wasn't until she got to university that she decided to pick up guitar and start teaching herself how to play. Before long, she's began experimenting with her own sound and writing lyrics, drawing from the likes of Joni Mitchell, Laura Marling and the Cranberries. In July last year, she started to release her first singles, which were praised for their witty lyricism, catchy rhythms, and soft vocals. She then released her debut album in March this year called Looking Down the Barrel. Sophie uh got in touch with us and sent through this track, which is called Defeatist.
SPEAKER_24You see, as most of the words have been used before And he said, Well, that's quite defeated. And he said, Don't you want to be the greatest? And I said no, not really, just wanna get back. He said, Don't you have dreams to chase? Say use your heart, but I don't have one. He said, then use your mind, but it doesn't work. He said, Don't you know your big body pass reached us? And I said, Oh But that's not that's really quite upset Get up and run, he said you wanna feel better, then you better put up with the pain And I said, Why run when I can drive? He says you can't try to reply, Well that's not the point And he said, Well, that's quite defeatist And he said, Don't you want to be the greatest? And I said no, not really Just want to get by He said, Don't you have dreams to chase? Say use your heart, but don't have one He said, then use your mind, but it doesn't work He said, Don't you know y'all play 40 pounds for each lesson? I said Oh Well that's not what I'd heard And that's ridiculous Sit down and pay these and pay what you see Not what you think you see And I said I'll never be the guy So I'm happy with the mediocrity And he said Whoa that's quite defeated And he said Don't you want to be the greatest And I said no Not really Just wanna get back And he said fiftiest time you might be like Oh I owe I owe I did I love Do what they told me Did I know Do what I ought to have done Say use your heart But I don't have one He said use your mind But it doesn't work You said use your heart But it's on have one He said use your mind But it doesn't work Doesn't work Doesn't work Doesn't work Doesn't work Doesn't work Doesn't work Really nice voice Sophie Holloway and Defeatist Doesn't work Doesn't work About a month ago we played you the new track from Cambridge band Far from Refuge.
SPEAKER_01Well they've been very busy because here comes the follow-up. This is Tempest.
SPEAKER_03Wait for the shit, they fall by the time, this is new from Far From Refuge, it's called Tempest.
SPEAKER_01I have to say I find Far From Refuge an interesting band from a personal music taste point of view. Because I wouldn't ordinarily choose myself to listen to anything that's sort of very b heavy uh or has the the screamy uh sort of vocals in them. Um but I really love their anthemic choruses and the kind of vibe that they do with the metal and the uh the electronic um anthemic um dance almost sort of vibe that they've got going on, which means I love listening to their music, but I wouldn't ordinarily probably enjoy uh something that uh that then contains the uh the screamy stuff. A band that I've known for a long time that's been on the circuit for ages, um, and getting better and better actually. So I really like that song and the one we played before. And if you're watching on YouTube, you'll have seen the music video to that as well. Right, we're rapidly running out of time, so we will play you the last track from the inbox for this week, and it comes from our friend Seasons, who we've not heard from for a little while. He says, Yes, NMG, it's been a while. This is my new song, Treason! There ain't no message, just vibes, he says. Um very DB starred, cleaned up just for you. This one is out now on all platforms. Well, thank you very much, Luke, for sending me a radio edit because we do get in trouble when we play bad words. This is Seasons with a Z and Treason. Seasons Treasons.
SPEAKER_21She called me, feeling, feeling, feel I look in some more Yeah, I'm make up, make a so in a bed, and same floor. Yeah, we don't need no handle that's a no one. Yeah, you can get so I got bed on every floor. I see I'm a body, cause she knows she got delay. Right hand on a stairwell, left hand on it. Drive fast, window down, see must. Drive fast, window down, see must seasons and treason.

You'll be able to see interviews and what we get up to behind the scenes and all that kind of thing. We'll try and bring you some coverage as much as we can do on the show next week as well. Uh 12 o'clock at Strawberry Fair on Saturday. I'll see you there. I'll leave you with this from if not now, this is a strange thing.
SPEAKER_13So make me smile. It was nice to keep it close just for a little eye. This precious thing that takes me by surprise, and every time it's always a high.
