Men who have heard their call. They are faithful ministers, not watchmen on the wall.

Welcome to the Watchmen's Call. We invite you to study with us the ancient prophecies of the Bible and witness their fulfillment in our modern time. After we published The Cry That Could Not Be Silenced back in April, the Lord just kept dealing with me about taking a deeper dive into the story that we all know as Blind Bar to Mayus. I thought I already had a good understanding of that message, but I soon realized that I had only scratched the surface. I never expected to have so much revelation come from just one story. Every action led to a specific decision that had to be made right then, and every decision led to life-changing events that not only affected Barnamayas, but also would travel down through time and become life lessons that can and will help us in these end time days. If we pay close attention and learn how to apply these lessons to the many different situations that come at us in our everyday walk. When heaven stands still, this is a full eight-episode series about how the events that happened between Jesus, Bartimaeus, and the crowd are truly a prophetic guide for day-to-day life. They're loaded with scriptures. If you'd like to have any references for your own independent studies, I mean, after all, the word is alive, and who knows what journey the Spirit may lead you on. Our prayer for these series is that the Lord will speak to you through his revelation and give his understanding so you can apply these prophetic lessons to specific decisions that you or some of your loved ones are facing today. If the message in this series and all of our previous podcasts are helpful or inspiring to you, please leave us a comment to help us get the word out to the world. Hit the like and share buttons, then subscribe to our channel so you don't miss any of the future podcasts. And remember this, together we can accomplish one of the things that Jesus told us to do, and it was called the Great Commission. We find it in Mark chapter 16 and verse 15. And he said to them, Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature. So let's go on and get started with the series, and again it's called When Heaven Stands Still, and that's actually the name of our first episode. Have you ever noticed that there's moments in life when it seems like everything just keeps moving? People keep walking, time keeps passing, opportunities seem to come and go, and it can feel like life doesn't slow down long enough to even notice you're there. Like you're watching something pass you by and there's nothing you can do to stop it. But there is a moment in Scripture where everything changes. It's not because the crowd got louder, it's not so much because someone important showed up, but because one man refused to stop crying out, and in that moment heaven stood still. Our scripture comes from Mark chapter ten and verse forty nine. Jesus stopped and said, Call him. The Bible says Jesus stopped. Out of everybody in that crowd, out of all the movement, out of everything happening in that moment, Jesus stood still. This was intentional, not accidental. Jesus didn't trip, he didn't hesitate or get distracted. He chose to stop and he chose to stop because of one voice. Think about that. Psalms thirty four and fifteen says The eyes of the Lord are on the righteous, and his ears are attentive to their cry. That means something powerful. God is not just watching crowds, he's listening for cries. He's not just aware of movement, he's attentive to voices, and when faith shows up in the form of a cry, God responds. Let's look at Psalms chapter 18 and verse six. It says, In my distress I call upon the Lord, and he heard my voice. So when you read Jesus stopped, don't just see a moment in history, see the nature of God, because the same God who stopped then still listens to this day. We have to understand that this moment is more than a pause when Jesus stopped. It's an interruption. Heaven interrupted what was happening on earth because someone cried out. You see, Barnamaus was being silenced. The crowd told him to be quiet, but instead he cried out even louder. Luke eighteen and seven says, Will not God bring about justice for his chosen ones who cry out to him day and night? See, there's something about persistence and desperate faith that causes heaven to respond. Not perfect prayers, not polished words, but desperate cries. We can look at Jeremiah 33 and 3 and it says, Call unto me, and I will answer you. See that means calling on God is not just emotional, not just when we're upset. It's biblical. It's not weakness, it's connection. Let's take a moment here and consider God's heart for the desperate. Bartimaeus was on the side of the road, ignored, overlooked, pushed aside. The crowd heard him, but they dismissed him. But Jesus heard him differently. Bartimaeus represents the marginalized. Society overlooked him, but Jesus responded. Psalms one hundred forty seven verse three says, He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds. Isaiah sixty-six and two says this is the one I esteem, the one who is humble and contrite in spirit. You see, God's not drawn to pride, he's drawn to humility. He's not drawn to self-sufficiency, folks. He is drawn to dependence. And sometimes what feels like brokenness is actually positioning you for God to respond. Psalms 9 and 12 says, He does not forget the cry of the afflicted. People may forget, people may overlook, and most of the time they will, but God does not forget, and God will not overlook you. Why does your cry matter? Before the miracle there was a cry, before the change, there was a voice. You see, Bartimaeus' cry triggered the moment. His persistence caught Jesus' attention. Just like in Romans 10 and 13, it says, Whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved. You see, calling on God is not and never should be a last resort. What we have to understand is calling on God is access. It's an invitation. It is the moment where heaven meets earth. If we read Lamentations chapter three, verses fifty-five through fifty-seven, it says, I call on your name. You heard my plea. You came near when I called you. Ain't that awesome? You came near when I called you. We have to understand when we call on God, God draws near to us. If you think about it, how many times have we found ourselves in the same position as Bartimaeus was? Maybe not blind, but an outcast, I guess you could say, overlooked. Nobody paying attention. See the crowd was loud. We see that today. There's noise everywhere we look, everywhere we're at. There's noise. Back then the crowd was loud, but heaven heard one voice. The crowd kept moving. But Jesus stopped, and everything changed because one man refused to stop calling out. He refused to stop crying out when the crowd told him to be quiet. I want to look at one more scripture, and it's Psalms chapter 40 and verse 1. It says, I waited patiently for the Lord. He turned to me and heard my cry. It's very, very important for us to keep crying out to God, even in the middle of the crowd, even in the middle of persecution, even in the middle of everything coming against you to try to shut you up and keep you in your little place. It is very important for us to keep crying out to God. See, God didn't just hear Bartimaeus, He turned towards him. That means your cry can shift Heaven's attention. Think about that. Your cry, your pleading, your prayers can shift heaven's attention. How awesome is that Jesus stopped, but it wasn't for the crowd. It was for the one who cried out. And the same God who heard Bartimaeus still hears us today. He still responds to us today. He still listens to us today. So my friends, whatever you're going through, don't stay silent, because the God who stopped then still stops now. I know that there are believers listening right now who feel silenced. They're silenced by fear, maybe by shame, maybe by past mistakes, or even religious pressure. It could be by people who don't understand your hunger. It could be by voices telling you just calm down. But the Spirit of God says, Cry out all the more. Don't let the crowd quiet your desperation. Don't let the world mute your worship. Don't let the enemy silence your faith. Your cry is actually the beginning of your breakthrough. If this message stirred something in your spirit, let me challenge you to take one step this week. Lift your voice to Jesus and cry out one more time. Don't let anything silence your faith. Desperate faith refuses to be quiet. Bartimaeus cried out and heaven stood still. Lord Jesus, give us the courage of Barnamaeus. The courage to cry out when the world tells us to be quiet. Let our desperation drown out every voice of fear, shame, and intimidation. Hear the cry of your people today, Lord, and meet them with mercy. In your mighty name we pray. Amen. Friends, y'all be blessed. Keep watching, keep praying. Jesus is coming back soon, and do not let the world drown out your cry. Like we said a while ago, your cry is the beginning of your breakthrough. Keep that in mind. If you don't remember nothing else, keep that in mind. Your cry is the very beginning of your breakthrough.
