In this weighty episode of The Seer’s Watch, Nazim shares a powerful vision he received on June 3rd 2025—an encounter revealing the reality of the second death.

The episode is anchored in Scripture, reading from the Book of Revelation (chapters 2, 20–21), alongside passages from the Gospel of Mark and the Book of Isaiah, to understand what God has already spoken about judgment, eternity, and the fate of us all.

This episode is not to entertain—it’s meant to prepare. What does it mean that the second death is coming to earth? Are we truly ready?

The reality of the second death should be at the forefront of every believer’s mind. It calls us to examine what we are building—are we investing in what is eternal, or what will ultimately fade? What we build now matters in the end.

Take this time to sit with the Lord, reflect, and examine your heart.

SPEAKER_03

Welcome everybody to the Sears Watch.

SPEAKER_00

And by the way, probably all in one accord, we're going to do a two in one for this one. Okay. Uh, because Patrick and I are are in the middle of a baptism series.

SPEAKER_03

Okay.

SPEAKER_00

And this topic is going to flow into the baptism for the forgiveness of sins, why it's so important. It's actually delivering us from something, uh, which is what we're about to talk about. So just this episode alone, we're doing two. I know.

SPEAKER_03

I was like forgetting a minute. I was like, is this the Sears watch or is this all in one accord? I'm getting confused. It's both this episode.

SPEAKER_00

Both. And um so praise God. Praise God. And Patrick is not here with us right now, but he we talked about and he was like, Yeah, go for it.

SPEAKER_03

So yes. So this is going to be on the Sears Watch, the Sears watch and all in one accord. Yep. And um, I am your host, Sarah, for the Sears Watch, and I am joined with Nazeem, obviously. And today is a very weighty uh topic that I'm actually I've been looking forward to hearing what Nazeem has to share. And it's talking about the second death. And at first I'm like, I don't really know how do we segue into this because it is a heavy topic, but I'm just like, you know what? No, it needs to be, I guess you could say heavy. It needs to be because this is about eternity. And I feel like a lot of times um this topic isn't talked about. And I do think sometimes it is because of fear, um, but also not understanding because it's revelation. And I too, like I just recently started uh reading Revelation this year, and it is very epic, it is so epic, it is amazing. But there are things you're just like, I don't understand this. So I think a lot of people avoid that. But, anyways, I'm gonna read some scripture and then Nazeem, you're gonna share this encounter that you had last summer. Was it June 3rd, 2025? Okay. Um, so I'm gonna read a big chunk of Revelation, and I highly recommend people read all of Revelation, and if you have time, do it a couple times within a week. It will blow your mind.

SPEAKER_00

Let's invite the Holy Spirit to before we read every time. Yes. Um, actually, as Patrick just um had a had an encounter with the Lord where you know many letters, especially of Paul's and now in the revelation, actually open up with grace to you and peace from God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. And the Holy Spirit stopped in this one of these last reads and said, Hey, receive it. Receive the grace and peace. Paul was actually in the Spirit releasing to the churches grace and peace to them, which would enable and equip them to actually hear the letter, read the letter, and respond appropriately. So, in the same way, we're gonna actually say uh before we get into the other chunks, the revelation of Jesus Christ in the beginning it'll say to the churches, Grace to you and peace from the one who is, and who was and who is to come, and from the seven spirits that are before his throne, and from Jesus Christ, the faithful and true witness, the firstborn from among the dead, and the ruler of the kings on earth. So right now, even future self that'll listen to this, receive that grace from the throne. Receive that peace. Don't run from this topic. Sometimes we're running from the fear of the Lord.

SPEAKER_01

Yes.

SPEAKER_00

And he's an ally in this. He's not an enemy. We have to stop going to other things to uh which ignoring these things that try to help us or ease our consciousness or whatever. That's not the way. It's not the narrow way that leads to life. But we need your grace and your peace, God, your spirit. Invite and welcome him.

SPEAKER_03

Well, I think I just got something from the Holy Spirit. Praise God. Um could you just give a brief like overview of what revelation is? Because there might be some people who don't know. Sure. Just yeah, just something really quick.

SPEAKER_00

Revelation is a masterpiece. And you know, when you read Paul's letter in Ephesians when he says that he's praying for the believers day and night, one of the things he's praying is that they would receive the spirit of revelation and wisdom, wisdom and revelation and the knowledge of God. And one day, I was like, wow, Lord, I believe that the this book, this is the last book given in the first century church. Um, they're getting close, very close to some. They know it. Prophecy of Jesus Christ. It's within 40 years now. We're in the 30s years, Mark, since he's been gone. But he had some prophecies of wrath and judgment for especially the first that the Jewish people that have rejected him. Uh, that Jerusalem was going to be um destroyed, that the people, uh Jewish people will be dispersed. Yeah. Um, so by this point, when the letters, the revelation comes, I believe the book of Revelation is an answer to Paul's prayer, and other the about the apostles that the people of God will be given the spirit of wisdom and revelation. It is just whoa. Um, but the first century church is anticipating, rightfully so, the return of Jesus Christ. It's how they think and move and operate, and you're supposed to.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

So they're waiting for, in fact, that phrase, the revelation of Jesus Christ, Peter will say it. We are waiting for the revelation of Jesus Christ from the clouds. We are waiting for that, okay, church. So God in his wisdom, while John um is on the island of Patmos uh for the Word of God, as the scripture says. And so while he's there worshiping, he gets this revelation. And it seems like it happens over a course of days, maybe some weeks. I'm not sure, but he gets it, and then he sends this letter to seven churches. They're real, historic, uh, living, moving, breathing churches at that time writing. Um, if you read your commentaries, it'll tell you around 90 something A.D., but I believe that's actually very off and very wrong because this the revelation itself shows that the current Jerusalem was still standing. And um we're within the 40-year mark, which is a big number. So most likely it's written around uh the mid-60s A.D., um, not quite as a solid 40 years after the Lord has left, but we're getting close. So the Lord I see in this letter sending his waiting church. They're waiting for him. And the apostles' ministry has run its full course around the the world, uh, the ancient world is for sure. And um, so now the Lord's coming because he's the first and he's the last. So now he is coming and saying, You're waiting, they're waiting for the revelation. So the Father sends the revelation of Jesus Christ to give them the huge picture here of what's going to happen. No one could have fathomed that another almost 2,000 years would pass.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

So God gives a this gives the churches that scope and perspective of what's going on from beginning to end, and revelation wraps up all the all the scripture very well. But it comes in a scroll to seven churches, and they're going, they're gonna have a reader. Somebody's gonna read to each of these churches this revelation. Basically, where are you, Lord? Yeah, and he this he's coming to set, and so around this time, shortly after this letter is written, you're gonna have the armies, um, Roman armies are going to uh do a siege on Jerusalem, and Jerusalem falls in 70 AD. Yeah, I was about to ask when was it awesome? Yeah, so that fulfillment of Jesus' prophecy, which you can find in the Gospels, like in Luke, and um it's gonna be fulfilled shortly after that. So some more upheavals are gonna happen. There's gonna be some more persecutions around this time. This is why I think this mid-60s is good, because Nero was see Caesar, Nero was um historically um he persecuted the Christians. Um and some he he fits an antichrist type. Okay. Um, anyways, uh that's why I think it's that. And so, yeah, and that in this this letter opens up emphatically saying, Blessed are those who listen and hear it. And you never want to fall into two camps with Revelation. There's uh there's a camp that's basically says it was all for that first century church, and that's all you really need to do. Everything's been fulfilled, that's not accurate at all. And then there's some who come first with it's written for us, me, today, and kind of skip over doing the hard labor of just reading it and saying, Lord, what was it like for the first year to get it? What was it like for Smear to have to hear that exhortation that they're going to suffer for 10 days? Like, no, it's a there's there's seven real churches, they're not first um representing one age and this age of the church, and now we're in the Laodicea time. Yeah, well, maybe that's the spiritual condition of church in America, but it's certainly not in the underground church in Iran or uh or China or fire for the Lord. So don't there's a lot of weird things we can do. That's why don't don't read commentary, just read a a good readable translation and just read it and get in the flow. And ask the Holy Spirit to help and read it with a couple other brothers and stop every don't stop every two seconds. Get into the flow um of Revelation. So I I hope that helps uh what Revelation is. It's it's so it's yeah, you just said it was a um vision given from the Father to Jesus to and uh to us, to John, to us. Oh, and by the way, he used his angel to do it. So like there's a even the way he delivers the message, you can see the perfect chain of command. Like there's no unbroken command. It's just so cool how everyone's involved in that. Yes, it's so good.

SPEAKER_03

No, it's epic. I mean, it is so epic and it's wonderful to read.

SPEAKER_00

You're blessed for reading it and listening and taken to heart just by doing it every single time. Guaranteed.

SPEAKER_03

So, yeah, I highly suggest that people stop avoiding reading it. Yeah, read it with the Holy Spirit. It is epic, it is just awesome. It's amazing. So so, but thank you for like just giving us a little bit of background of Revelation. Yeah. And so we're gonna, you know, move into you discussing second death. But before we jump into that, I wanted to read, I believe it was what, Revelation 2. And so I'm gonna read two, eight through, I guess, eleven. And to the angel of the church in Smyrna, write the words of the first and the last who died and came to life. I know your tribulation and your prop poverty, but you are rich, and the slander of those who say that they are Jews and are not, but are a synagogue of Satan. Do not fear what you are about to suffer. Behold, the devil is about to throw some of you into prison, that you may be tested, and for ten days you will have tribulation. Be faithful unto death, and I will give you the crown of life. He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. The one who conquers will not be hurt by the second death.

SPEAKER_00

So that's the first time the word uh combo, second death, is used in the Bible.

SPEAKER_03

Correct. And then I'm going to jump to Revelation, I believe, twenty.

SPEAKER_00

This is where everybody, you're in the Bible, and this is the spot where every single person you've ever met is in this scene. So go ahead.

SPEAKER_03

So again, this is Revelation 20, and I'm gonna start at 11, and I'm gonna end on uh 21 eight.

SPEAKER_00

Yep, yep, we're gonna get to the right.

SPEAKER_03

So bear with me. Praise God. Then I saw a great white throne, and him who was seated on it. From his presence, earth and sky fled away, and no place was found for them. And I saw the dead, great and small, standing before the throne, and books were opened. Then another book was opened, which is the book of life. And the dead were judged by what was written in the books, according to what they have done. And the sea gave up the dead who were in it. Death and Hades gave up the dead who were in them, and they were judged, each one of them, according to what they had done. Then death and Hades were thrown into the lake of fire. This is the second death, the lake of fire. And if anyone's name was not found written in the book of life, he was thrown into the lake of fire. Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and the sea was no more. And I saw the holy city, New Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband, and I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, Behold, the dwelling place of God is with man. He will dwell with them, and they will be his people, and God himself will be with them as their God. He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain any more. For the former things have passed away. And he who was seated on the throne said, Behold, I am making all things new. Also he said, Write this down, for these words are trustworthy and true. And he said to me, It is done. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the end. To the thirsty I will give from the spring of water of life without payment. The one who conquers will have their this heritage, and I will be his God, and he will be my son. But as for the cowardly, the faithless, the detestable, as for murderers, the sexual, immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars, their portion will be in the lake that burns with fire and sulfur, which is the second death.

SPEAKER_00

Alright. So, praise the living God, the word of the Lord, those words will never pass away. You know, beloved, I've said it before. What's helped me understand is when you're doing a thousand piece puzzle, if you've ever done one, one thing you have to do to make sense of the scattered pieces is you have to keep looking at the picture on the on the puzzle box. It helps you make sense of and even prioritize, even group puzzle pieces so you can start putting them together. This is why it's so important to remember Judgment Day. It's the you know the final piece and picture. Uh, andor the scenes where every tribe, tongue, and nation are and language are before the throne, praising God. Like that's the project he's working on. So looking at those end pictures and saying, God, you know, this is the end. Help it will give a wisdom and an impart and a wisdom to a wisdom to your priorities and to-do list for today when you start putting the end picture before you more. It's that important to do. This is wisdom. This is why it's called the fear of the Lord is called the beginning of wisdom. So on that note, it was probably towards the end of 2024, uh, close to it, where I started kind of having uh just a development with the Lord and me and the Lord, uh, especially at work. But there was a passage in Zephaniah, uh, one of the prophets, and it just kind of stuck out on me, especially in my Bible, because the end of Habakkuk also has the same kind of phrase, be still, be silent before the Lord. Now in Zephaniah, he the reason why you're silent before the Lord is be silent before the Lord God, for the day of the Lord is near. And I was like, okay, so I started practicing more silence, like even at work, um, and then just reading about what is in the day of the Lord. If you read Zephaniah in 10, 15 minutes, you get a crash course and understanding that that line appears in the New Testament. Um, the whoever calls on the name of the Lord will be saved before the great day of the Lord, and marvelous and terrifying, depending on I was like, all right, so crash course and the day of the Lord. What is the characteristics of the day of the Lord? Verse 14 of Zephaniah 1. Near is the great day of the Lord, near and coming very quickly. Listen, the day of the Lord. And then the warrior cries out bitterly, a day of wrath is that day, a day of trouble and distress, a day of destruction and desolation, a day of darkness and gloom, a day of clouds and thick darkness, a day of trumpet and battle cry against the fortified cities. All right. So the Lord began to download in me through this scripture that the day of the Lord is actually coming for America, and it's very soon. And so I would just pause and I would see people, and I'd be on my break and I'd sh I'd shed some tears with the Holy Spirit about this day because people are not ready. And when you read this passage, a lot of times you make the mistake of thinking it's all historically been fulfilled already on like Babylon and all these other ancient cities. No. The day of the Lord works in prophetic cycles till it climaxes to the ultimate unique day of the Lord Jesus Christ coming out of the uh clouds.

SPEAKER_01

Yes.

SPEAKER_00

But it has cycles, and you see you can see that very clearly. And I was like, okay, so fast forward to June 3rd, probably six, seven months, uh 2020, 20, 2025. So I was just, it was an evening, I was laying on my bed, and this phrase came, has never come in this way before from the Holy Spirit. Second death is coming to earth. And then tears started to come down my face, and he would repeat the phrase, Second Death is coming to earth. And now for the next hour I shared some tears, and then he would say, Second death is coming to earth, and they're not ready.

SPEAKER_01

Mm-hmm.

SPEAKER_00

And he said, Most are not teaching this reality. So then I go to sleep, and I have a it's a vision of the night. I mean it's it's not just a dream, it's an encounter.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

So it's very dark and I'm walking, and then suddenly I'm lifted up like I'm laying in the air, like laying down like you would on a bed. And I'm um but now I'm moving, I'm kind of hovering, being carried. And um darkness is all around me, and I can feel the kind of the temptation to get scared, but then I just start saying, I I love you, Father, I love you, Jesus, I love you, Holy Spirit. I'm not scared, I got you, praise you. And so I do that, and then I I feel I see a part of my body glowing, like a like I don't know, my left leg. It's like this cool glow. And then I feel to my right um a wind, and I can tell it's scorching, but I don't feel it. I'm not harmed by it. So then I I get up, and then the Holy Spirit helped me understand the direction it was coming from was east, and I knew that scorching east wind is in the word. Um, it's in places like um later I would find it in uh Psalm I think it's 48, also Jehosaphat um in Jeremiah, there is an east wind, a scorching east wind that the Lord talks about sending. So I knew that the Lord let me experience the heat of um second death, but I wasn't harmed by it, like you just uh read from Jesus that um we won't be harmed by it. So, anyways, I had this stream and I'm like, okay, you know what, Lord? This is now my 21st year following you, going all out. And I cannot honestly say that I've ever really gone face first, head in, to studying second death, hell, all the above. I've I have learned to love and delight in the whole uh the fear of the Lord, and I have a strong confidence because in the fear of the Lord there is strong confidence, the proverbs say. So if you want confidence, it's in the fear of the Lord learning that. So I've mined that and I can read those passages, I don't skip over them, but I haven't dived. Yeah. You know, so I was like, that's what I need to do. So for it lasted about six weeks of the scripture, just going in every passage about it. And um, what is second death, Lord? So in a nutshell, I don't know if I can keep it in a nutshell, but I'm gonna try by the grace of God. But what ended up happening was what I didn't expect. I ended up for the first time in my life praising God and acknowledging his just just judgment for the reality of second death. I was actually praising him and thanking him, acknowledging that it's his perfect design and it says perfect justice and judgment. And when I did that, I realized, wait, I'm just echoing what the angel, when the bowls of wrath are going out in Revelation like 16, 17, after three of them, I think it's three of them get poured out, the angel of the waters, because now the waters have been turned to blood, he says you're righteous for this. And then the altar itself also echoes, saying, You are righteous, O Lord, for these judgments. I was like, Whoa I'm I'm actually sounding exactly like they are. And if you read a little earlier, um, those who overcome the beast are singing the song of Moses and of the Lamb, and they're declaring God's righteous judgments. So I was like, Wow, all these years I've never actually straight up acknowledged this is your righteousness, this is righteous judgment, and it's perfect in design. It's absolutely perfect. One of the things I realized was that, okay, so the different things that Jesus calls second death, uh, especially in the gospel accounts, outer darkness, fiery furnace, gehenna is a big word he uses. We'll get into that in a second. Okay. Um, and death itself is an entity, and actually it's an enemy. It gets thrown into second death.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, because we just read that.

SPEAKER_00

Yep. And Hades. I was like, oh, okay. So I realized this. This is why I say it's perfect in design. There are scriptures that say, if you hate me, wisdom, God's spirit, you actually love death.

SPEAKER_01

Mm-hmm.

SPEAKER_00

Okay. Uh, John, in uh the gospel account of John, Jesus says this is the judgment that light has come into the world, but men love the darkness, so they would not come into the light for fear that they to be exposed. So you can love death, you can love darkness, and if you hate your brother, you're a murderer, John says. Okay. So I was like, wait a second. So if that's what you sow into, Paul will say this God can't be mocked. A man reaps with that which he sows. If you sow to the flesh, you reap corruption. Yeah. Decay. If you sow to the spirit to please the spirit, you reap eternal life. Okay. So I was like, okay. If you love darkness and do not repent to the light and come to the light, your portion, which you just read, their portion, their part is outer darkness.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

If you love death because you hate God, hate wisdom, hate his son, you Actually, get second death with death, where death is. That's why I'm saying it's perfect, it's actually perfect in design. If you love the father of lies who is a murderer from the beginning, then you get the place where he is. That place. That's his that everyone ends up with their father.

SPEAKER_03

Oh, wow.

SPEAKER_00

Because that's where he's going too. The father of lies is getting thrown in the lake of fire. So instead of exactly. So I was like, it's actually perfect in design. It's absolutely perfect.

unknown

I didn't even see that.

SPEAKER_00

So here I am, exactly like you right now. I'm starting to praise him. I'm like, oh my goodness, this is perfect. Like the design, it totally makes sense. Because you in the end, you can't have both. You can't. It's impossible. At some point, there's a threshold we pass where there's no point of no return. So I was like, whoa, Lord, that's that's really good. Yeah, good.

SPEAKER_03

One thing just came to my mind while you were saying that about the father of lies and the father of light. What is our inheritance?

SPEAKER_00

It's the inheritance of light.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah. And then, but if you follow your the father of um lies, what's his inheritance?

SPEAKER_00

This is second death.

SPEAKER_03

Second death. Like I was just like connecting the dots while you were speaking.

SPEAKER_00

I'm like, absolutely.

SPEAKER_03

I'm like, wow, this is perfect.

SPEAKER_00

It is.

SPEAKER_03

Oh my gosh. Wow.

SPEAKER_00

You know, um, there's a very big discrepancy. We have to um I discovered I had to sift through, but on that note, because we're talking about portion, and part of our portion is a resurrected body. Now, I'm trying to figure out how to do this. All right. Well, we uh we didn't just read it, I was reading it beforehand. There is going to be a resurrection of both the righteous and the unrighteous. Okay. Um, three scriptures real quick. Uh starting with I love starting with Jesus because he's the first and the last. Jesus Christ says in the gospel account of John, he says, Do not marvel at this, for an hour is coming in which all who are in the tombs will hear his voice, and he will come forth, those and they will and will come forth, those who did the good deeds to a resurrection of life, those who committed the deed, evil deeds to a resurrection of judgment. That's in John 5. Okay. And now Acts 24, Paul is before uh giving his testimony, and he's speaking to the governor, and he says this, but this I admit to you, that according to the way which they call a sect, I do serve the God of our fathers, believing everything that is in accordance with the law and what is written in the prophets, having a hope in God, which these men cherish themselves, that there shall certainly be a resurrection of both the righteous and the wicked. In view of this, I also do my best to maintain always a blameless conscience both before God and before men. And that's my prayer for us right now is that in view of this, what? In view of what? The resurrection from the dead of both the evil and the righteous. The passage that Sarah read in Revelation 20, 11 through about judgment day, that's where we're all going. Having that view, he says, now I always do my best to maintain blameless, a conscious, blameless consciousness always before God and before men. That's why this is that important to have this view. We've lost this view, we have to bring it back. Okay, and then at the end of Daniel uh 12, he says this. Here's the prophets. He believes this. That's why he's saying this, because he believes it, what the prophets say. So he's on trial, he's testifying. Uh at the end of Daniel, it's a very long vision explanation, but he says in uh Daniel 12, now at that time Michael, the great prince who stands guard over the sons of your people, will arise, and there will be a time of distress such as never occurred since there was a nation until that time. And at that time, your people, everyone who is found written in the book, will be rescued. You can see all the things that Revelation is pulling from, all from the Bible. Many of those who sleep in the dust of the ground will awake these to everlasting life, but others to disgrace and everlasting contempt. Those who have insight will shine brightly like the brightness of the expanse of heaven, and those who lead the many to righteousness like the stars forever and ever. Okay, so there is going to be a resurrection, both of the righteous and the evil. We're getting a portion, um, a body, an indestructible body to live in and inhabit new heaven, new earth.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

But not everyone with that body is inhabiting uh New Jerusalem and reigning with God and seeing his face. Some are actually going to be in the lake of fire. So this is where I have now you're gonna have to bear with me. I'm gonna I'm gonna go quick here, but I just all right, I have to read Mark 9, uh, this part of Mark 9, and then Isaiah 66. This kind of brings it all to a nutshell. I need to uh I needed to understand that second death is not hell. Second death is not hell. Hell is another word for Hades and is an enemy of God, and hell is going to be thrown into the lake of fire, the second death. Okay? And I'm gonna show you why I say that. Uh hell is a place, but it's invisible. The word used for hell is Hades. It's Greek, it means not seen. So it's a it's the realm of the dead, it's unseen, and we know it's a place where um the wicked are in torment with fire because of uh uh the parable Jesus Christ tells in Luke 16 with the rich man in Lazarus. He is in Hades, he is in hell, same word. But here's a big discrepancy. Here's a problem. Second death is seen, it's visible, it's not an unseen place of torment, and it's not set up yet. It hasn't been set up yet.

SPEAKER_03

So hell is Hades. Yes.

SPEAKER_00

Okay, so here's here's the big, here's the there's another Greek word that uses that. The English translations still translate hell, and the word is gehenah, and it's not hell. It has similarities to it, like the fire part and torment, but it is much different. It's important because it's a righteous judgment of God. It's not an enemy over it's not an enemy to be overcome, it is a righteous judgment of the Lord. That's why it's different. Um, okay. So I'm gonna go to Mark 9, the end of Mark 9. Jesus says, Whoever causes one of these little ones who believed to uh who believes to stumble, it would be better for him if he were if with a heavy millstone hung around his neck he had been cast into the sea. If your hand causes you to stumble, cut it off. It's better for you to enter a life crippled than having two hands to go into hell into the unquenchable fire. Okay, that word is hell in English. In Greek it's gehenna. Gehenna, and it means valley of henna, okay? And that is the the Hebrew of Gehenna is henem. Uh ben henum, ben means son, so in the valley of the son of Hinnem. All right, I'll get to that in a second. But that's very important because that valley is just outside of the walls of Jerusalem. And it's talked about in Jeremiah and Isaiah and also in Kings, but it was a place, a valley where the children of Israel would sacrifice their little children to a false, detestable God. And God said in Jeremiah like six-ish, I'm gonna turn and change that name to the valley of slaughter. So when Jesus says Gehenna, burning and the worm, I'll let me keep reading and I'll get back to it. If your foot causes you to stumble, cut it off. It's better for you to enter life lame than having your two feet to be cast into hell. I'm gonna say Gehenna every time I see hell because that is the Greek word there. If your eye causes you to stumble, throw it out. It's better for you to enter the kingdom of God with one eye than having two eyes to be cast into Gehenna. Where their worm does not die and the fire is not quenched. For everyone will be salted with fire. Salt is good, but if it's if the salt becomes unsalty, with what? Will you make it salty again? Have salt in yourselves, have salt in yourselves and be at peace with one another. Okay. Where their worm does not die and the fire is not quenched. That is a there's only one place in the entire scripture where that phrase appears. The end of Isaiah. And this is important to kind of get this all in a nutshell. End of Isaiah 66, then they shall bring all your brethren from all the nations as a grain offering to the Lord on horses and chariots and litters, on mules and on camels to my holy mountain, Jerusalem, says the Lord, just as the sons of Israel bring their grain offering in a clean vessel to the house of the Lord. I will also take some of them for priests and for Levites, says the Lord's. For just as the new heavens and the new earth, which I will make, will endure before me, declares the Lord, so your offspring and your name will endure. It shall be from new moon to new moon, from Sabbath to Sabbath, all mankind will come down to bow before me, says the Lord. Then they will go forth and look on the corpses of the men who have transgressed against me, for their worm will not die, and the fire will their fire will not be quenched, and they will be an abhorrence to all mankind. That's the that is when Jesus says Gehenna, it's better for you to enter life crippled than to be cast into Gehenna, where their worm does not die and the fire is not quenched. It's he's he's referencing this. Now the what's happening in this scene is New Heavens, New Earth. And people are going to worship God in New Heavens and New Earth in Jerusalem. Now, when they're coming out, they're looking on the corpses. Now, after all this study, it was just like a month ago. I read that corpses, and the Holy Spirit said, You're you're not reading that properly. You think when you read that word corpses, you're thinking an unconscious dead pile of bodies. That's what we think.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

He's like, No. In light of all the other passages of what they've said about the reality of new heaven, new earth, that there will certainly be a resurrection of both the righteous and the unrighteous. That passage is, for example, in Luke 13, when the Lord says to um those who are still hardened and not repenting and they're going to end up murdering him, he's like, You're going to weep. There's going to be weeping and gnashing in that place. And every time he uses that phrase, um weeping and gnashing, he's referring to the outer darkness, the fiery furnace, which is also second death. He says, There's going to be weeping and gnashing in that place when you see Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, all the prophets going into the kingdom. They're going to be reclining at table, but you yourselves are cast out. And this makes sense. When you look at Psalm 23, um, you prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. That's what's happening here. We're literally going, like here it is in Luke 13. Um he's there. Oh, the question was, Lord, well, are there just a few who will be saved? This is in Luke 13. And he said to them, Strive to enter through the narrow door, for many I tell you, will seek to enter, it will not be able. Once the head of the house gets up and shuts the door, and you begin to stand outside and knock on the door, saying, Lord, open to us, then he will answer and say to you, I do not know where you are from. Then you will begin to say, We ate and drank in your presence, and you taught in our streets. And he will say, I tell you, I do not know where you are from. Depart from me, all you evildoers. In that place there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth. When you see Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, and all the prophets in the kingdom of God, but you yourselves being thrown out, and they will come from east and west and from north and south, and will recline at table in the kingdom of God. So that means they're not unconscious corpses. They 'cause you can see. They are able to see, they're consciously seeing the righteous going in and having a good time and worshiping God. While they're out, cast out, and the outer darkness. When you read Matthew, especially the weeping, gnashing of teeth, outer darkness, fiery furnace, they're all synonymous. Always. Second death, then is another term to wrap it up. Okay? It's all the same thing. Gehenna is another term that illustrates the location of where it's going to be. It is the valley of Hinnem in the Old Testament, where they would sacrifice their children to a abominable God. Only like saying its name. I know its name, but he's like, I'm going to turn that place in a valley of slaughter. That's what Gehenna is. It's a value means valley of henna, or in Hebrew, it's Hinnem. So that's just outside the southern walls of Jerusalem. It's meant to be seen by the people of God. Everyone is going to see it. It's not an unvisible, invisible realm that's going to be put away and out of sight for everyone. No, actually, the right the smoke of their torment rises forever and ever, the word says in Revelation. In the presence of the holy angels and the Lamb. See, this is the part of Jesus we don't like, but it's who he is. It's a part of who he is. Um, and so the Holy Spirit said, they're corpses that you're gonna look on. They're not unconscious. I'm showing you guys what the evil's bodies, resurrected bodies are gonna look like, corpse like, and then he immediately showed me zombie culture.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, that's what I was thinking.

SPEAKER_00

It's zombies. We you know, this fat infatuation with zombies, da da da da da people are actually falling in love with and sowing, if they don't repent, what their resurrected bodies are gonna be like, a rotting corpse. Um, I read the proverb, one of the proverbs today says that the memory of the wicked will rot. R-O-T, rot. And I was like, Whoa Lord, they're not unconscious. And it says that they'll be loathsome to us. So we're gonna be righteous with the Lord, enjoying him, worshiping him, and then leaving and looking on these zombie-like, unrepentant evil, including the devil, death, the false prophet, who are weeping and gnashing, and we're gonna loathe them, it says. That's the reality. So here's the here's the discrepancy. And and at the end of the six weeks, I I I was worshiping, not only acknowledging that it's perfect in design, but something else happened because I realized who the enemies are. And and we often group the same because of the English translations. All right, so Peter, Matthew 16, who I think it's Matthew 16, he says, Um, who do people say I am? And then Peter says, But who do you say I am? They say, Jesus says, Who do you say I am? And Peter says, You are the son of the living God, right? Um he says, You're blessed, Simon Barjona. Flesh and blood did not reveal this to you, but my father in heaven. And he said, Then he prophesies to Peter, upon you.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

On that rock, I'm going to build my church. And the gates of Hades is the Greek word. Hades. Now, some translations will say Hades, but some, like I just read today, will say hell. Which is accurate.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

That's fine. It's Hades, hell, it's the same thing. The gates of Hades, hell will not prevail. Hades, hell is an enemy, which in the in the gospel we overcome. And the Lord still uses us to preach the gospel even in that realm to free people, etc., etc. All right. The problem is, is when you go over to that uh Mark 9 passage that I read where it's better for you to cut off your arm than to walk uh to be to have two arms and be cast into Gehenna. That's a Greek word, Grehenna. The English translations still say hell. They're using the same English word for two different Greek words and two different, very different realities.

SPEAKER_03

Oh, okay.

SPEAKER_00

That's the problem. So we group in big problem. We we're grouping in second death and hell together. And they're not, they're very different. Second death is a righteous design and judgment of the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb. It's righteous. Hell is an enemy that we overcome by the blood of the Lamb.

SPEAKER_01

Mm-hmm.

SPEAKER_00

Okay? Yeah. And it's an enemy uh we've fought before. Like you and me in ministry, we it's an enemy. And it's partnered with death. Yeah. They're like a tag team, okay? And the same thing with the devil. It's an enemy. And that's why in popular culture, I know I part another reason I know this is true is popular culture, because these entities are arrogant, but they like getting worshiped. So there's all the all this language in culture, this fatuation of hell. The word hell is thrown around is fun to say. Well, that's because it it's an enemy.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

It's exalting itself. But you hear nothing of gehenna, you hear nothing of second death, because that's where they're going and they don't like talking about it. So the culture doesn't talk about it. But that's where the hell is going. So when you understand that, I mean, in a nutshell, the reality of second death, and when Jesus says Gehenna and English translations say hell, they're two vastly different things. Hades, the gates of Hades, and then uh Lazarus, um the rich man in Lazarus, the rich man being in Hades in hell is an unseen reality. The very word Hades means unseen. That's something in Christ we overcome.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

And so when I realized that, then I read Psalm 18, a psalm I'm very familiar with, but this time, man, there's this line in there. This is why it's important to me. Why is it important to make these well, because God is truth. I want to know the truth. He's a God of truth. And this positions me to worship and give him acknowledgement where he's due. I'm a worshiper. That's who we are first in our identity, always will be a servant and a worshiper. So when I discover the truth and get free of any kind of lie, I'm like, oh, that's why it's perfect in design. And okay, now I'm gonna read a life psalm. So David, this Psalm 18 is repeated twice, once at the end of Samuel, second Samuel probably, and then uh again, it's his basically his summary of his entire life of God's, all God's victories for him and his faithfulness to God uh to David. There's this line in here that says, verse 4 The cords of death encompassed me, and the torrents of ungodliness terrified me. The cords of Sheol surrounded me, the snares of death confronted me. Okay, pause. The torrents of ungodliness. I have a little footnote that says the Hebrew is Belial. That is another name. When you read the New Testament, Paul will actually say Biliel, referring to Satan in 2 Corinthians, I think it is. Okay, so I knew that. I was like, okay. So death, that's an enemy. The torrents of ungodliness, biliel, oh that's uh that's the devil.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

The cords of Sheol surrounded me. Sheol is actually Hades. Now, how would I know that? Um Sheol is used a lot. That word Hebrew, uh, in in Hebrew is used a lot in the uh Old Testament. Uh it's the Hebrew word for grave, but turns out it's actually Sheol. Because uh in places such as uh Psalm 16, you will not abandon my soul to Sheol. Okay. Acts 2, the day of Pentecost, Peter quotes this very passage and he says, This is how he interprets it. Because you will not abandon my soul to Hades. So that means every time I see Sheol, it's actually Hades. So now with that in mind, knowing that death is not just a something that happens to one a person, it's actually an enemy.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

That God sees. Knowing that uh the torrents of ungodliness is actually another name for the devil, uh Belial. And then the cords of Sheol is actually the cords of Hades. Now hold that. So after all this study, I realized when I read this psalm, the cords of death encompassed me, and the torrents of the devil terrified me. The cords of Hades surrounded me, the snares of death confronted me. And all these, by the way, I've experienced these kinds of attacks and encounters throughout my life at this point when I'm about to read this in twenty plus years now. I've faced these very entities and and I know what David's talking about. In my distress, and I was very distressed, I called upon the Lord, and he and I cried to my God for help, and he heard my voice out of his temple, and my cry for help before him came into his ears. Then the earth shook and quaked, and the foundation of the mountains were trembling and were shaken because he was angry. Smoke went up out of his nostrils, and fire from his mouth devoured, coals were kindled by it. He bowed the heavens also and came down with thick darkness under his feet. He rode on a cherub and flew, he sped upon the wings of the wind, he made darkness his hiding place, his canopy around him, darkness of waters, thick clouds of the skies, from the brightness before him passed his thick clouds, hailstones and coals of fire. The Lord also thundered in the heavens, and the most high uttered his voice, hailstones and coals of fire. He sent out his arrows and scattered them and lightning flashes in abundance and routed them. Then the channels of the water appeared, and the foundations of the world were laid bare at your rebuke, O Lord, at the blast of the breath of your nostrils. He sent from on high, he took me, he drew me out of many waters, he delivered me from my strong enemy and from those who hated me, for they were too mighty for me. They confronted me in the day of my calamity, but the Lord was my stay. He brought me forth also into a broad place, he rescued me because he delighted in me. And it keeps going on from there. But do you see that? Now when I'm realizing, when now when truth is happening here, I'm like, wait a second. Jesus is saying, when he's talking about hell in this way, about it's better to be to enter life lame than to uh be thrown into Gehenna. And then hell Hades is actually an enemy that gets thrown into Gehenna. When I when I had that correction, now all of a sudden I'm seeing something I read so many times in a brand new light that hit me in my own narrative with God of like all the times He's delivered me from all these enemies.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

Um diseases, dude. Sick, just He's delivered me from so much.

SPEAKER_01

Uh-huh.

SPEAKER_00

I'm like, wow, Lord. So I'm getting that worship session in. I've never had, man, who would have thought I'm gonna enter a six-week you know period of second death discovery and and come out, I mean, demonstratively yelling praise to God. And then, and by the way, I've already shared tears with him. Yeah. So it's I'm sharing tears for this reality. We have to have the whole thing, the whole package of how he feels about this. That's what I was asking him seven, eight months before this. I was asking to share his feelings about how he feels about the day of the Lord coming. And that led to this encounter with the the second death and all that six, seven months later. And so it's very important to feel uh and perceive that, but it ends up in worship and it ends up in declaring he's righteous for this. It's perfect in design. If you love light and love and light, that's what you that's your um your inheritance. If you love death because you hate the Lord, you hate the spirit of wisdom, then second death is the portion. If you sowed into corruption, you reap a resurrected corpse-like zombie-like body. You know what I'm saying? Like if you love darkness, you your portion is outer darkness. And that's just the truth. Yes, it's the truth. You you in God can't be mocked, He's created. So if we sow to the please of the Holy Spirit, we reap eternal life. Um so that's all of that in a nutshell. I um I had a blast in in this this time. I was very surprised, and I came out the most whole in a holy confidence kind of way that I've ever been in my life. And, you know, as a kid, uh I was I was hit hard by this, especially it was actually an enemy, but hell. And I was saying the prayer all the time and never feel like today be the day I go to hell, like that kind of fear. But turns out that was actually an enemy. Telling me I'm never free from Hades, hell, torment kind of thing. I didn't realize it was something saved, second death was something else, but no, he wrote he wrote my name in his in his book. And now I'm I I want to have the best setup in new heaven, new earth, and that's why you know you can we've talked about the spectrum before. Um, where do where do you want to be? How many cities do you want to rule? You know, show that holy diligence of like Paul said, I have this in view all the time, so that I always maintain a blameless conscious. And he makes the most use of the grace call in his life to fulfill it to the utmost.

SPEAKER_01

Yes.

SPEAKER_00

That's the kind of uh that's what I'm aiming for, and that's why I talk about. That's why it's so healthy to talk about. And I've just realized that this is the missing ingredient in evangelism, in proclaiming preaching. We remove this part from the gospel, the warning of this second death coming, the warning that yeah, he's coming again. We just saw it recently on a uh production a church did um that they left out. Um they got so close. I mean, they're they're a breath away from saying the reality that yeah, Jesus is coming back, but he's coming to judge and save those who are eagerly waiting. But to judge, it says he judges, he made wages war with righteousness. And um the blood that's he's gonna slay the nations that are coming against him with the sword of his mouth, and the birds are gonna gorge on their flesh. We don't like that, Jesus. We leave that Jesus out. Yes, um, no, it's like uh this is our homeboy Jesus. The first apostles and the announcements had this cry, save yourselves, because this is what they're talking about. This is what the Lord was telling them and showing them about Gehenna. And you're gonna everyone's gonna see it. It's gonna be right outside the walls of Jerusalem. It is a place that God has designated, and it gets set up when Jesus Christ returns, because the false prophet and the beast are the first to be thrown into it. And then there's judgment day, a thousand years later, and um, and then it's all the death, and Hades got to give up the dead that are in them, as we read, and then it then everything's commenced, but they're going to be there.

SPEAKER_03

So yeah, I mean when you have that perspective, um or when you're thinking about it, it's in your forefront. All right, is that the word? Um the decisions that you make every day change drastically. There are things that you're just like, do I really need to be worried about this? Do I really need to be focusing my energy on this? Because when you have that mindset, I mean it does, it changes everything. Yep. What relationships, your job, your where you live, all of it. Because at the end of the day, I'm like, is this going to matter in the end?

SPEAKER_00

Yes.

SPEAKER_03

Like, is it a very important question?

SPEAKER_00

Is it default too? Yes.

SPEAKER_03

Because I feel like a lot of us, again, I I I'm not sure maybe you have a better um answer and understanding, but a lot of churches that I've been to don't talk about this. They don't talk about judgment or the second death. Like it's very rare that I hear it being talked about a lot. Um, they'll say like Jesus is coming, but they don't really talk about that.

SPEAKER_00

Oh my god. Paul says this, I read it again today, just to keep myself fresh. And he says in 2 Corinthians 5, he's talking about, well, what happens when we die currently before Christ returns? And you know, a lot of Christians who are veterans still don't, veterans even don't even know the answer to that question. He answers it, Paul answers it blatantly in 2 Corinthians 5. You're not going to die and fall into an unconscious sleep, beloved. That might have been the way it was in the Old Testament, guys, but something has drastically changed since then. And it's sad that we don't have an answer for this, but it's right there in 2 Corinthians 5. And at the end of that, he says, and he says, For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ. He's talking to Christians especially, but we all have to. Judgment starts with the household of faith, Peter will say. Okay. So that each one may be recompassed, rewarded for the deeds that were done in the body, whether good or bad. The word is worthless, bad or worthless. What did you do in the body? Therefore, knowing the fear of the Lord, we persuade men. This is before the servants of the Lord all the time. And it greatly affects what we do and what we prioritize in life. And also if temptations come up, like I'm going to cheat on my husband or wife, like when you have judgment day before you, it's like, yeah, that you need some holy fear. We think the fear of the Lord is gone, but it's not. You know, it's not. And uh I just read this today actually in Acts 9, at the end of that. Um, well, not at the end of it, somewhere in nine. He says that the church continue to grow in the fear of the Lord and in the comfort of the Holy Spirit. It's not an old testament concept, brothers and sisters in Christ. It's a command actually from Jesus Christ. He said, My friends, do not kill those, do not fear those who can kill the body, but after that they can do no more. I will warn you whom to fear. Fear him who, after he's killed the body, has the right authority to throw you into, and the word will be hell, but it's Gehenna. It's not Hades. The Greek word is he has the authority to throw you into Gehenna.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

Valley of Hinnum, the valley of Hana. That's reader to fear. And then he says, Are not five sparrows sold for two pennies? Not one of them is falls to the ground without your father knowing it. Fear not, you're worth more than many sparrows. And I tell you, everyone who acknowledges me before men, I will acknowledge before the father and his angels. Whoever disowns me or denies me for before me before uh men will be, I will deny before the angels of God. So, like, um, yeah, it's a command, actually. The only thing I do fear is remember being cut off and thrown off, uh thrown uh in the second death. That's actually proof that I love Jesus. Because he said, if you love me, you'll keep my commands.

SPEAKER_03

Yes.

SPEAKER_00

If I actually fear, that's the only thing I fear. Praise God, I'm actually it's actually proof. I've realized this like a year ago. I was like, wait, that's actually proof I love him. Because it's his command. Fear the only only thing you fear is that reality. Yeah. Oh. That means I love you. Yeah, because I'm keeping your command. Oh, Lord, that's awesome. See, the enemy would use that against me in the past. Yeah. Well, you fear, or other people would say, see, you know, there is no fear in God. Come on, you know, you don't shouldn't fear that. Wait a second, you're actually telling me to disobey Jesus Christ. He told me to fear. That was the only thing he told me to fear. Fear God. Fear the one who has the authority to cast into Gehenna. Where the worm does not die and the fire is not quenched. That's secondary. That's the only thing. So you're actually this persuasion to help people ease their consciousness in the church is actually a different spirit. It's a rebellion. It's trying to keep people away.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

You're actually trying to get me to disobey Jesus here. Yeah. That persuasion is not okay. I don't like that anymore. I'm like, ooh. Um, the fear of the Lord and love are are not opposed to each other, guys. And we've told that we've that's what we've been teaching. But, anyways, I I feel a relief that I got to share that.

SPEAKER_03

I know it's been building, and I'm like, I'm really excited to share this, but it's just been something that I know that's been on your heart um and something that you've wrestled with and studied with. Um, but yeah, when you have that perspective, you really consider what you're building for eternity. And I think every single believer needs to have that mindset. Yeah. Because a lot of times I see Christians, they're building here.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah.

SPEAKER_03

And it's like, no, this is going to be gone. And the things, these empires that you're building, they will be burned. But they will be burned.

SPEAKER_00

Heaven and earth passed away. The only thing is there is a great white throne. Another thing is so it's on this note, uh, and I can end here, is you know, with this in view, one of these things I started doing in my mornings, which God, it was so cool how it quickly he answered this. But in my mornings before I leave my room, along with putting on the armor of God and a guard over your mouth, and some staple prayers I've been learning just to do from this word, is I had started saying, Lord, today, let me do things today that matter for judgment day for reward.

SPEAKER_03

That's good.

SPEAKER_00

And then I'd say I'd, you know, the fellowship say, Let us do things today. I think it was like the first time I prayed that. Maybe second. I got a knock on a Sunday morning on the door from Patrick, who typically goes to uh the other churches was not normal. Long story short, we got a surprise phone call as he came over. Um, and uh we ended up going and bringing somebody to Christ and baptizing them in their creek right then and there, like that morning, and and ministering to him for a couple hours and his mom, it turns out we were an answer to prayer, etc., etc. But I was like, wow, whoa, I just pray, God. That's good. In light of judgment day, in light of judgment day, today, right now, let me do things today that matter for good, for judgment day, for reward, please. I mean, it's it's just part of my prayers now, every time before I leave my room. And he answers over and over and over. And then after a week or so, I look, oh, oh, oh, that really mattered. That conversation there really mattered to you. Oh, that connect, that brother coming over, that, oh, that prayer, that, oh, all that is an answer to that prayer I pray in earnest, in light of, in view of, everyone's gonna get a resurrection, and everyone's gonna be set up in new heaven, new earth in some way. What is our what is how do you want to set be set up? So a lot of it does depend on how we respond with the grace and how we respond to the the gospel, how we partner with that.

SPEAKER_03

So thank you for listening, and I pray that it blesses you, moves you, and to consider what am I building today?

SPEAKER_00

Praise God.
