Real faith isn’t proven at the beginning—it’s proven by endurance.

In this episode of The Daily Rebel, we walk through James 5:10–11 and look at the prophets and Job as examples of steadfast faith under pressure. James reminds us that faithful people still suffered, obedience often invites pressure, and endurance is not about perfection—it’s about remaining.

We unpack three truths:

  1. Examples prove it
  2. Endurance defines it
  3. Outcome reveals Him

You’ll hear the stories of Jeremiah, Elijah, Isaiah, Ezekiel, and Job—and how even in suffering, they stayed faithful to God. Job wrestled, questioned, and struggled… but he never walked away.

When you can’t see what God is doing—you trust who God is.

Stay steady…God’s not done

This podcast is for the ones who know they were rescued, but also know they were resent. Saved by grace, sent to live differently. We're not rebelling against God, we're rebelling against everything that keeps us free. Every day, we don't swing our opinions, we sharpen our lives on the word of God, the sword of the Spirit, guiding us, cutting through lives, and leading us one step at a time. We'll talk faith, identity, purpose, leadership, and what it really looks like to follow Jesus in a distracted world. Welcome to the Daily Rebel. Yo, what up, Redeemed Rebels? Here we go. We're in a series called Built to Last, and we're in James chapter 5, 10

Today's Text: James 5:10-11

SPEAKER_00

through 11. If you have a Bible, let's get it. Brothers and sisters, take the prophets who spoke in the Lord's name as an example of suffering and patience. See, we count as blessed those who have endured. You have heard of Job's endurance and have seen the outcome that the Lord brought about. The Lord is compassionate and merciful. This week we've been talking about, man, how do how do we stay patient in suffering? How do we how do we become built to last? Have you ever gone through something

When Seasons Drag On

SPEAKER_00

and wonder how long it's gonna last? Not a quick problem, not a small inconvenience, but something that has been lingering day after day, week after week, season after season. And the question is, is this ever going to change? You see, we don't struggle with starting,

Why We Struggle to Stay

SPEAKER_00

we struggle with staying. We struggle with enduring. And anybody can have faith at the beginning, but real faith shows up when it takes longer than you expected. The text says, take the prophets at the take the prophets

The Prophets as Examples of Endurance

SPEAKER_00

as an example. So James doesn't just point to random people, y'all. He's being very biblical. He points to the prophets, men who heard God clearly, who spoke God boldly, and obeyed God fully. And what did it lead to? Not comfort, it actually led to suffering.

Jeremiah, Elijah, Isaiah, and Ezekiel

SPEAKER_00

Jeremiah, the weeping prophet, was rejected. He was beaten. He was thrown into a pit. He was called the weeping prophet because he begged for the nation of Israel to turn to the Lord again. Elijah was a powerful, had powerful moments before the Lord, before God. We're going to talk about Elijah in the next week. And then he ran into fear and depression. He he literally demolishes 500 prophets of Baal, and then all of a sudden, this chick named Jezebel threatens his life and he turns to fear and depression. Isaiah, um, tradition says he was sawn in half. Uh Ezekiel was called to preach to people who wouldn't listen. Like that, on and on and on we could go about the prophets of old. They were faithful and it was still hard. Obedience

Obedience Often Invites Pressure

SPEAKER_00

does not remove pressure, y'all. It often invites it. Let's shift to Job. It says, You have heard of Job's endurance. Jobs didn't Job

Job’s Story of Loss and Suffering

SPEAKER_00

didn't lose one thing, y'all. He lost everything. His wealth, gone. His children, gone. His health, gone. And then his friend showed up and made it worse. Job didn't respond perfectly. He he he questioned, he wrestled, he did struggle. Don't ever think that Job was this man that didn't ask even about his existence. But you know what he didn't do? He never walked away. Job struggled and wrestled and never left the Lord. That that word endured means to remain under pressure, to stay when it's hard, to sort to refuse to quit. It's not perfection, it's persistence. And some of us need that kind of holy grit in our back pockets or within our within our hearts we need to pull out so that we can grow through. He says, You have seen the outcome. That means the end result, the full picture, the final conclusion. You don't see this in the middle, only at the end. So what was the real outcome? Here we go. Not just restoration, revelation. Job didn't just get things back, he saw God more clearly. So listen, he says the Lord is compassionate and merciful. That's what you hold on to.

When You Can't See What God is Doing Trust Who God Is

SPEAKER_00

When you can't see what God is doing, you trust who God

The Three Points

SPEAKER_00

is. So listen, here's number one. Here are your three points. Number

Point 1: Examples Prove It

SPEAKER_00

one, examples prove it. So faithful people still suffered. The prophets didn't live easy lives, they lived obedient lives, and obedience didn't remove pressure. It brought it. Faith at last is a faith that is real. So stop assuming something is wrong just because it's hard. Something, sometimes the pressure is proof you're exactly where God wants you. Again, the examples prove it. Number

Point 2: Endurance Defines It

SPEAKER_00

two, endurance defines it. Real faith stays when it's hard. Job didn't quit.

Job Struggled, Yet Stayed

SPEAKER_00

He struggled, but he stayed. You don't have to be perfect. You just

You Don’t Have to Be Perfect—Just Remain

SPEAKER_00

have to remain and persevere. Endurance is not about, it isn't about having no struggle at all. It's about not walking away when it's tough. How many people just say, I'm not going back to church because I'm just, I'm, I'm struggling, or man, I'm just hurting, so I need time alone. And there's nothing wrong with solitude, man, but don't walk away from the Lord just because you're hurting. Because he never promised that you wouldn't hurt. So where are you tempted to quit right now? Because staying is the win. And number

Point 3: Outcome Reveals Him

SPEAKER_00

three is outcome reveals him. Who? It reveals the Lord. God's character is the conclusion.

God’s Character Is the Conclusion

SPEAKER_00

You have seen the outcome. Not immediately, but eventually. God does not waste your suffering. He uses it. And what you're going through is not the final chapter. It is but a chapter in the entirety of your story that God is writing. At the end, you don't just see what God did, you see who God is. Compassionate, merciful, and faithful. So don't judge God by the middle of your story. Wait for the end. So the examples show it, endurance defines it, and outcome reveals it. Jesus endured

Gospel Shift: Jesus Endured the Cross

SPEAKER_00

not just pressure, the cross. He stayed. And because he stayed, you have hope. So when you feel like quitting, remember Jesus didn't. Am I trying? Ask these questions. Am I trying to escape this season or endure it? I remember when my boy, in my first year of the bull, my twins' life, I wanted to escape that season. Because it was hard. When you're only sleeping two hours a night for almost two years, you want to get out of it quick. But I had to endure it. Am I focused on the struggle or the outcome? Am I holding on to my situation or God's character? Listen, stay steady. God's not done. Don't

Don’t Quit in the Middle

SPEAKER_00

quit. Don't walk away. Don't lose heart because Redeemed Rebels, listen, we don't bail under pressure. We build through it. Amen. Thank you for
