Daily Update May 4, 2026 exposes how far‑left radical professor Mohamed Abdou went from obscure academic to open cheerleader for Hamas, Hezbollah, and Islamic Jihad—and why that should disqualify him from any role near American students. We walk through his shocking post‑October 7 statements, Columbia University’s decision to cut ties, and his ongoing “Death to the Akademy” tour targeting college campuses. Then we look at the numbers that show just how many college students now sympathize with Hamas and what that says about the ideological capture of our universities. Finally, we talk plainly about what parents, taxpayers, and voters must do to protect the next generation from a higher‑ed system that too often treats terrorists as heroes and America as the enemy.

What You Can Do

If you’re a parent, grandparent, or taxpayer, you cannot sit this fight out. Start by taking a hard look at the universities you’re funding—through tuition, donations, or your tax dollars—and demand to know why extremists like Mohamed Abdou are given a platform while sane voices are sidelined. Support leaders, schools, and alternative programs that teach young Americans to love their country instead of cheering on terrorists, and be willing to say no when a college environment is clearly hostile to your values and your child’s soul. Share this Daily Update with friends, pastors, and local officials, and make sure your school boards, legislators, and members of Congress know you expect them to stand up to the radicalization happening on campus.

Don't send your children to a university. This is the Wilmington Standard Daily Update for Monday, April 4, 2026. Mohamed Abdou spent years as an obscure, far-left, radical professor promoting Islam, anarchism, and Palestinian liberation. He has held various posts in a collection of universities, including Cornell and Columbia. He came to national attention by his support of Hamas by posting on social media on October 11, 2023, just days after their cowardly attack on Israel, I'm with Hamas and Hezbollah and Islamic Jihad. On April 17, 2024, six months later, Columbia University fired him, stating that he will, quote, never work at Columbia again. Mr. Abdou is clearly troubled. His support of killing civilians, raping women, and beheading babies by Hamas and other terrorist Muslim groups disqualifies him from ever being part of any civil society, not to mention having anything to do with educating college kids. Since he is based in Canada and not a U.S. citizen, he should never be allowed to enter our country again. Yet he continues to find sympathetic ears at our nation's universities. On May 1, Mr. Abdou gave a virtual speech at a gathering at Virginia Tech in Blacksburg, Virginia. While Virginia Tech maintains that this was not an official university event, the mere fact that it was held on campus, used campus equipment, and was geared toward VA Tech students is a problem. It means that campus officials either are not aware of the vile things that Mr. Abduz proclaims in his Death to the Academy tour, or they really have no problem with the radicalization of the students in their care. Mr. Abdou and others like him are finding listening ears in the next generation. National polls suggest that while only a small fraction of American adults expresses sympathy for Hamas, roughly one in five college students say they do in fact sympathize with Hamas or see the October 7th attack as justified resistance. Clearly, our children are being led down very dangerous and subversive paths that will eat at their souls and threaten to destroy our country from within. The epicenters of this rot are our universities, where 60% of staff and professors identify as liberal to far left, with only a small number identifying as conservative. Sending a young mind to these institutions is like sending a child to confront a tank with a pop gun. It never works, and the tank just rolls on. For the Wilmington Standard, I'm Reuel Sample. Thanks for listening.
