Hi, I'm Sheila and I'm here to help you be their parent. I'm a wife, mom of three adults, educator, and kids ministry volunteer. I love watching kids have their aha moments. When I watch kids interact and play, I am always entertained. My favorite thing about teaching is the little side conversations I get to have with students throughout my day. I learn so much about them, and let's be honest, their families. But the best part is how funny they are. They just tell so many stories. It's great. But sometimes they're really deep too. And I sometimes it just amazes me at the things that they understand. As someone who has worked with kids in a variety of settings for more years than I'd like to admit to, I've noticed the change in our culture and society as a whole and how we raise kids and what we expect of them. There are a lot of families that are doing a great job and trying their best. This podcast is for you to maybe give you a few more tools in your tool belt to help things to continue on that track. Then there are families that are struggling and the kids rule the home. This is hard on everyone and gets a hundred times harder when they start school and there are rules and routines. This podcast is for you too. You are the right person for your child. Maybe you didn't have great examples in your own parents, and I know that's really hard. But maybe you did, and yet you still feel like something was missing and you want to try raising your kids in a different way. I understand that too. Bottom line, we have to do better as the adults in our kids' lives so that our kids can be successful in life as they mature into adulthood. As I'm seeing the changing landscape of how children behave in public and how they react to adults, I know something has to change. Parents, you have to be their parent. You are the adult that gets to make the choices, set the expectation, and love those kids like no other. This podcast is all about helping parents find ways to raise their kids in the best possible way. I will be the first to say that I do not have all the answers. And for that, I will find people who do and bring them along with us. I am slash was not the perfect mom, far from it, but I've learned a lot along the way, and I want to be a safe place for us to have conversations about parenting.
