Today Zumo is so excited to tell you all about the perks of being a delver as you get into higher ranks of you delver's journey. Also, THAT CINEMATIC! Let's discuss.
Ald El Shalam. Anubellore del Anna.
SPEAKER_01Keep your eyes on the horizon.
SPEAKER_03Gather at the inn. It's safe there. Our hospitality is yours.
SPEAKER_04All guests are welcome here.
SPEAKER_02Hello and welcome to the Delvers Inn. I'm Sanaila.
SPEAKER_05And I'm Zumanaki.
SPEAKER_02And we're so glad to be here with you tonight. We had a very exciting real-life noble garden celebration in our home with lots of toys and trinkets and scavenger hunts and good food. So I hope you had a good noble garden celebration as well. I know Zumo is so excited tonight. He's got so much that he wants to talk about. And I am here for the uh the vibes and the good feelings. Take it away, Zumo.
SPEAKER_05So this last week I really hit the ground running with delves. And I'm really excited to be back into that flow of just let's do all the delves all the time. That I was kind of in most of the time in the war within. I've got four characters up and running at max level, doing 11s, feeling great. My warlock, my warrior, my shaman, and my priest. In War Within, I was doing holy on my priest. Holy wasn't feeling good. I switched to disc, and that is feeling great. I was really concerned about both tanks and healers and delves in general from like leveling up. I remember doing a delve at kind of the higher end of the leveling range on both my warrior and my shaman at like 88, 89, and they felt real bad. Like everything was hitting really hard on my warrior. I was struggling to keep Valera alive on my healers, and it does look like that was just artifacts of like scaling issues popping up. So that was really nice to see that you know doing delves on those two roles feels very similar to the War Within. Feels great. In War Within, I was very heavy on running tanks, and I'm actually enjoying healers a whole lot this expansion. I think I'm gonna switch about half my tanks over to healers, have a more even distribution of my 13 classes amongst amongst the three main roles. Whereas I think I only had like three healers in War Within, and then like six tanks, and then the four DPS only specs. Uh so that felt real good. Been really happy with that.
SPEAKER_02So you've you've your issues with Valera previously seemed to have been scaling issues, but you haven't, let's be honest, been completely happy with her this week.
SPEAKER_05I haven't. She's had a nasty habit of just aggroing random things for no reason. I know we were doing a Talaman together, and we were inside one of those like towers that you the path goes through towards the beginning, fighting one of the nemesis mobs. Um and she just pulled like six more mobs that were all outside the building.
SPEAKER_00Can't attest, yes.
SPEAKER_05For no reason.
SPEAKER_00They went around the building to get into us.
SPEAKER_05Yeah, they I don't know what she did. Like maybe she called all their moms mean things, but whatever it was, it was super effective. They all came running out to the yard. It was too much for us to handle.
SPEAKER_02Do you think she brought her milkshake?
SPEAKER_05Maybe. I don't I don't know why, but my mind immediately went to Zalotath when you said that. I'm not sure. I'm not sure why Zalotath was.
SPEAKER_02If anybody's got a milkshake.
SPEAKER_05Bringing the milkshake, but that's where my head immediately was.
SPEAKER_02Is it a purple milkshake? Is it like that McDonald's milkshake, the grimace milkshake?
SPEAKER_04What so she she aggroed all of these extra mobs and it was too much for us to handle.
SPEAKER_05I think I died first, and then or no, you must have died first. Because then you released, right? Mm-hmm. And then I died and I didn't release at first. And so Valera just teleported back to you at the beginning of the instance, and all the mobs came running towards you.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, you're such a considerate husband. You always make sure I die first.
SPEAKER_05Wow. Uh so then you you and her started running back, and I saw all the mobs go running towards you, so then I'm like, okay, well, I guess I have to res. I thought we would just wipe it up and and try again. So then I resed, and then so Valera came back to me, and we were running towards you, trying to get to you, so that she could like provide you with some heals. I could help out with like the mobs you were dealing with, and she just teleports to a completely random other pack that we were not in combat with at all, and decides to start fighting those four mobs. Yeah, it wasn't great.
SPEAKER_02Bad form, Valera.
SPEAKER_05I I had similar problems doing a Tolamon on my own, not in that spot. But I actually got it to happen like three times if I was going up the hill and aggroed something, she would teleport into one of the huts on the side and just start fighting the things in there.
SPEAKER_02I mean, we had been talking about how the delves are much more open world now. Do you feel like maybe the delves are too open world and it's causing pull problems?
SPEAKER_05Yeah, there might be like some pathing or mapping issues there that need to get worked out. Another weird thing I saw her do today, you know how when the nemesis mobs, like you get close enough to the flags that represent where they are, they appear and like kill all of the mobs that are nearby. Right? They all just like fall down dead and have like a purpose purple glow on them. So in Twilight Crypts, right at the very beginning, when you go kind of down that first spiral, there was a nemesis camp there, and it was those three like slug zergling looking things.
SPEAKER_03Mm-hmm.
SPEAKER_05And so I attacked them, and they all came running towards me, and Valera teleported in and started attacking the dead bodies instead.
SPEAKER_03And I was like, What are you doing?
SPEAKER_05And like dealt with the pack, and she was just still attacking with stuff. And I'm like, are you are you just broken? Because like they're dead, you're attacking them. It's not like they're going to die, and then you can move on to whatever else you want to do. But then she killed it. Like it was dead, but then she succeeded in killing it, and it like dropped loot, and she moved on to the next one and started attacking that one. And after a while, she killed it and it dropped loot.
SPEAKER_01I was that ain't right.
SPEAKER_05Yeah. So that's I guess that's not that surprising. Because I feel like when they like die, they don't actually die. I I feel like I ran into that in the war within.
SPEAKER_02Hey, hey, don't be hating on those of us that have feigned death. Okay, it can be really useful in a lot of situations, like when you're being attacked by a mini Godzilla from the nemesis.
SPEAKER_05For sure. I will always miss my tree sassin's disguise that gave me Feign Death on my warlock in Warlords of Draenor. I I miss that still. It was the best item.
SPEAKER_02Every time I feign death, I I think about that scene from Muppet Treasure Island where the the goat pirate goes, Oh yeah, I I um I'm dead. So many great lines in that movie, but that's the one I always think of when I fall over dead locations.
SPEAKER_05That's really funny because going into tonight, talking thinking about some of the things I wanted to talk about, I was going to make them up at Treasure Island Reference.
SPEAKER_02I mean, there's so much good material.
SPEAKER_05And we just I don't even remember the last time I saw that movie. So that's really funny that both of our minds just randomly decided to go on to the same topic at the same time. Well, roughly the same time.
SPEAKER_02You know, I think my favorite thing about both Muppet Treasure Island and Muppet Christmas Carol is the discussions it generated for decades by the main actors in them. So, like when they would do, you know, interviews with Tim Curry later, he maintained this bit that he and Miss Piggy had an affair and she was the one that got away. And like decades and decades later, when he was like an old, shriveled up old man, he would still talk about his long-ago affair with Miss Piggy and how she was the one that got away. Like he maintained this bit for life.
SPEAKER_05Dedication to the craft.
SPEAKER_02Yes. Whereas Michael Cain, you know, took it very seriously.
SPEAKER_05Oh, sure. He wasn't surrounded by Muppets. He was on Broadway doing high art.
SPEAKER_02Mm-hmm. Anyway, that we digress. We will always digress for Muppets.
SPEAKER_05I think I stand by my earlier comments. I still think Valera is an improvement over Bran. I like her better than Bran. But yeah, she definitely has her issues. Oh, I was talking about in War Within, the mobs seemed like they did the same thing that when they fell down dead from the nemesis, they weren't actually dead. I definitely saw like some ogres stand up and start casting spells, or like some enemies stand up and cast their fear, like AoE circle around themselves. Yeah, I think they are just all playing possum. And Valera didn't fall for it.
SPEAKER_02Speaking of Nemesis mobs, how did they get that moderately sized Godzilla into that tiny little hut?
SPEAKER_05Uh yeah, that was also in Atolamon. I don't know. But it was quite funny.
SPEAKER_02He doesn't even fit in the board.
SPEAKER_05He doesn't even fit. He's a very, very big mob and a very small troll hut.
SPEAKER_02I mean, he's not big for like, you know, full-size gorgeera, but he is big for a mob.
SPEAKER_05Now I feel bad about talking shade about Valera and feel like I need to talk up all the good things about her. Like I love her her shadow step ability where you just aggro and she immediately teleports in the middle of it and starts AoEing and grabbing all the aggro.
SPEAKER_02That is very PC corporate management of you. We should we should do her mid-year review and say four nice things about her and two things to improve.
SPEAKER_05Well, I just I don't want to feel too I don't want to be too negative. Like, you know, I said I'm so excited to be in Delves and here I am complaining about something. Um I don't feel like that's a a good act representation.
SPEAKER_02Gotta I mean to be fair, it was something that happened that diminished our enjoyment of that delve.
SPEAKER_05Oh, I was so mad.
SPEAKER_02I was putting it mildly. The joy was a little diminished.
SPEAKER_05I got raging so mad at that moment. Zumo raging. I don't get mad very often, but like when something goes wrong, and then you exacerbate what's going wrong, that makes me upset.
SPEAKER_02Not at me, not at me, or I might cry and never play again.
SPEAKER_05But no, it wasn't you. And even if it was you, like you're a human being. I don't get mad at people, I get mad at objects, situations.
SPEAKER_04Yeah. Yeah, so Valera, I love Valyra, she's great.
SPEAKER_05I'm excited to have her as my companion for the rest of the expansion. She's got a couple things to work on. Like not aggroing random other mobs or attacking dead bodies until they die. Which I I don't know. Part of me is like, I can't even be mad. Like, that's just impressive.
SPEAKER_04You kill you killed them so hard they died again. I guess keep her away from me. As an undead.
SPEAKER_05Anyway. So I've been hitting the delves hard. I think I started out the week at rank five, four, four or five on the Delver's journey. And now I am at ten.
SPEAKER_02Mm-hmm. I noticed all the work you put into that.
SPEAKER_05So a lot of the a lot of the higher journey stuff that I've I've unlocked, I wanted to kind of run through a little bit. At five, Zaran, our ethereal buddy that showed up in the last season of The War Within and would sell us trinkets, starts showing back up again. Initially, he'll sell random pieces of gear, so not just limited to trinkets. He'll sell weapons, he'll sell necklaces, pieces of armor at the champion track for your undercoins. It cost about 2,000 undercoins a piece. When you get to rank 9, he also starts selling hero gear for untainted mana crystals, which is similar to the currency that you could buy things off of him in the war within. At tier 11, they drop out of the bountiful coffer, sorry, from rank 8, 9, 10, and 11. But I think they drop more the higher level. At tier 11, you'll get 45 out of them every single time from your bountiful coffer. They max out, you can only earn up to 250 a week, which means that you're looking at doing six delves to get your full 250. And then there is a total cap that you have on your person of 1,000. If you earn max every week, you can save up for four weeks. He does rotate his inventory, so it's kind of random, whatever he'll have at the very end of the delve when he shows up. So it's not like you can just know, all right, I've got my 250, I'm gonna go in, and for 200 of them, I'm gonna buy pants at the end of this delve. Because he might just not have pants. But I feel like four weeks is a pretty good buffer. Like if you're looking for pants and you're doing six or more a week, it's pretty likely you're gonna run into him after four weeks and he'll be selling pants at some point. So I like that a lot. I like that that's another source of hero gear. I like that you can kind of target a piece. You know, if you just keep doing it, eventually he'll be selling it. I know at various ends of seasons in the last expansion, I had, you know, folks that were looking for just one more piece to complete their mythic appearance set. And it was almost always bracers for whatever reason, always looking for bracers, and they just never dropped. Uh so I have like quite a few tier sets from the last expansion where I'm just missing bracers.
SPEAKER_02I mean, to be fair, you often can't see the bracers anyway, but then it doesn't, you know, count as a set that you can just easily transmog.
SPEAKER_05Right, which they did fix a little bit because now you can easily transmog sets that you don't have completed. There's just a little like tick mark when they redid the transmog system to show sets that aren't fully completed.
SPEAKER_02But then that little line, you know, in your collections doesn't yes, that hits me right in my soul.
SPEAKER_05I absolutely need it, but it doesn't hit as hard as it used to. Sorry, am I letting reality in with my wiggling?
SPEAKER_02No, speaking of wiggling, this cat is doing nothing but wiggling over here.
SPEAKER_05He just wants to be on TV.
SPEAKER_02No, he just wants all the pets, and he knows I'm trapped here.
SPEAKER_05So Zoran will sell armor and trinkets for 200 of those untainted mana crystals. He'll sell one hands for 100 and he'll sell off hands for 50. I didn't get a chance to see two-handed weapons come up yet.
SPEAKER_02I would assume they're 200, but don't this kind of change your weekly plan where you would do six delves instead of your four and then like four prey for your vault?
SPEAKER_05Yes. I think I'd like to circle back on that. Okay. No problem. Because there are some other things that we'll also encourage. But but I'd say you're right. I'm gonna be looking to do six delves at least every week because that's how many coffer keys you can get, and you'll want to be spinning all of those.
SPEAKER_04Or I will want to be spinning all of those anyway.
SPEAKER_02Because I will say that the prey has grown on me.
unknownYeah.
SPEAKER_02So I don't mind doing four.
SPEAKER_05I think I'm in kind of the opposite camp. I like doing prey on my warlock, but like on my tanks and healers, it just takes too long.
SPEAKER_02Like that makes sense.
SPEAKER_04And then even if I switch to you know, my healer's DPS specs, I feel like they're just a lot more fragile than my warlock is.
SPEAKER_05Plus you're dropping you know, the end of Nightmare Prey drops champion gear, which like on Zumo, I don't need that anymore. And there's no chance to get anything else. Unlike Delves, which at rank nine in your bountiful chest at the very end, along with dropping these tokens for Zoran, these untainted mana crystals, there's a chance that instead of dropping any mana crystals, it will just drop a heroic piece. Doesn't seem like it's super common. My numbers right now are out of seven bountiful chests opening. I have gotten one piece of heroic gear. So it's not like a super prominent thing. But again, just another thing that I like. I've got another chance to be able to get those pieces that I need. I'm not gonna end up in a situation where I'm like, well, there was my last vault of the season. Like, I can't do anything anymore. Or like, oh, there's only three more vaults left in the season. It's really unlikely that I'm gonna get these two pieces that I still need. I really like that we've got kind of these extra chances, as it were. You know, and it is really exciting to go in and be like, oh, here I am with my coffer key. Wonder if I'll get a heroic piece. It's a little bit of that rush of like, you know, maybe something good will drop. Right? That excitement of when it finally comes out. Sorry, just caught my eye in the chat. Luna's here. I am having a good day, Luna. Hope you are too. I appreciate you showing up and being here.
SPEAKER_02Hi, from Sinaila and from Merlin as well. So you feel like with the ability to randomly drop better gear that delves have become, you know, a little bit more exciting, a little bit more of that kind of like raid drop feel.
SPEAKER_05Yeah. Yeah, or mount drop, whatever thing that you're chasing, you don't expect it to drop, but then you know, always in the back of your mind to like maybe it'll happen, maybe it'll happen. And then when it does, you get really excited. Feels real nice. So I love that. I think that's a great new addition. At rank 10, you end up increasing your coffer key shard gains by half. So you don't have to do as much every week to be farming those. That felt great to get. Not having to put in as much time on all my alts. For like killing a rare or doing a world quest, that means instead of getting 50, you're getting 75. Uh, for doing those larger things like South Rail's Soire or the zone-specific like quests where you got to do three world quests to unlock them, and then you get the bonus quest. Those would instead of dropping 100, that's 150. So, yeah, just a lot quicker kind of going through, especially when I'm looking at you know, eventually getting my 13 characters all up and running, and not just my four that I have right now. Yeah, I'll take I'll take 33% less work. Sounds great.
SPEAKER_02For sure.
SPEAKER_05Gilded stashes start dropping myth crests. In the war within, you could get three of those a week, and they each dropped seven. Now in midnight, you can get four of those caches a week, but they only drop five. So you're looking at running one more delve a week if that's all you're looking to do is mix max out your myth crests, and you're getting one less crest out of the process. Um it also doesn't seem like Mythcrests, or maybe I'm just maybe it's not guaranteed and I'm not very lucky. It doesn't seem like myth crests are dropping from the map anymore. The Traveler's Bounty, where it used to be that if you did it on like a tier 11, you'd get some extra myth crests from opening up that hero treasure chest at the end. Uh, and they do not seem to be dropping this expansion.
SPEAKER_02So and just remind me, if I can get my mythic appearance by completely leveling up my heroic you with aurora quests, what do I want those myth crests for again?
SPEAKER_05Crafting other items using the crafting system. So, you know, you could make a myth level weapon, for example, is where the first 80 myth crests that I'm gonna be getting are going straight to. But then after that, you know, you could craft one of the nice belts, you know, something that's not gonna be part of your four-piece or boots, and get some of those really powerful embellishments on them, those more unique patterns. I mean, you could craft one of those myths, would probably be the next thing to look at. So, yeah, you're not gonna need as many of them if you're just looking for getting your mythic tier set appearance. You know, I know that was our priority in the last expansion, and they're just not used for that anymore. But used for more making those more powerful, impactful, yeah, player power type pieces.
SPEAKER_02So if I didn't have any interest in the myth crests, what tier would you recommend running at?
SPEAKER_05Hmm. I still think I'd say 11. Um, because that's where you need to go if you want to get that heroic piece uh able to drop at the very end out of your bountiful chest. If you do it on eight, nine, or ten, you're not gonna have that chance. You're just guaranteed going to get those untainted mana crystals, which again, you know, you can save up to buy a hero piece, uh, but you won't be having that chance of just instantly getting a hero piece. If you just don't want to go that hardcore and just kind of take it easier, tier eights will get you there. Like take it slow and steady. You're happy with just oh, I'm gonna try to get my full mythic transmog by the end of the season. Just do all tier eights. You'll get there eventually. That said, I don't think tier 11s are that bad. I went in on my discipline priest who was quite undergeared, and you know, didn't really have any problems after figuring out how to deal with some of the Nemesis packs. Just the the threefer guys were kind of a lot to deal with. They were doing a lot of damage to Valera, and like it seemed like she'd always lose aggro on at least one, and they'd come attack me. I was like, I'm just gonna mind control one of those. And now I have an elite like Zergling Slug or Heronier Dog thing. No, they're not. They're the void ones that look very similar to the haironier dogs.
SPEAKER_02The void puppies. Yeah, demodogs.
SPEAKER_05Um, I have one of those fighting for me against the other two, and then that just trivializes those nemesis fights. If you're a priest, you can do that.
SPEAKER_00Crowd control, what's that?
SPEAKER_05Yeah, right. Well, like normal crowd control doesn't seem to work real good because of you know, my previous comment about Valera just instantly shadow stepping in and AoEing. It's like on my shaman, if I wanted to hex one of them, uh, that would work fine until I then followed it up by attacking one of the other ones, and then Valera shadow steps in, AoEs, breaks my hex, and we're fighting all three of them anyway. Uh so mind control is specifically powerful because it turns it friendly. And then, you know, she can't break it, she can't hurt it, and it's fighting alongside you for quite a while.
SPEAKER_03That's good.
SPEAKER_05What else gets unlocked through the journey? Your sanctified flag, which is kind of like the replacement for your portals that would show up in season three of The War Within. If you find the glowy flag, you get some extra Marl, some extra undercoin, and then there's a chance that a nemesis mob will pop up, and then if you fight it, you instead get a grand sanctified spoil, which is the exact same stuff but slightly more of it. So a little underwhelming there, in my opinion. Um, I'm not stressing too hard to try to find the flag because it's like 130 marl. It's like I can just do a world quest and get that. I really want the marl. You're over there, like, I need all the marl in the world to buy all the things.
SPEAKER_02That might be a nice lamp. Or even more books. Never have enough books. IRL Orion game.
SPEAKER_05You brought up Prey, and I mentioned how I was kind of shying away from it a little bit, whereas you were saying that you liked it.
SPEAKER_02I gotta find out what Astalore is up to.
SPEAKER_05He's up to something, that's for sure.
SPEAKER_02I I think he might be a dreadlord.
SPEAKER_05The weekly quest that he gives to do three nightmare prey hunts does give you a beacon of hope if you complete it, which is the new item that allows you to summon the nemesis to come and fight you when you're at the respawn stone halfway through the dungeon. I think normally those cost like 2,000 undercoin if you want to just buy them. But it's really nice if you either don't have a lot of time to run a lot of delves or you just get really unlucky and you're on like delve seven or eight of the week, and you still haven't gotten your map to show up, just popping one of those, summoning the nemesis, and being guaranteed a map and then a heroic chest at the end of the delve is quite nice. So if you find yourself without any of those beacon of hopes on hand, just be sure to go visit Astalore. Um I seem to be pr having pretty good luck with that, and maybe it's just the bad luck protection that they put in towards the end of the war within that like if you do six, you should be be getting them.
SPEAKER_04I think that's all the new stuff that I unlocked that I wanted to talk about.
SPEAKER_05Initially we talked about which delves we kind of liked the most. Has that changed for you at all? As you've gotten a little deeper in the season?
SPEAKER_02No, I am loyal to my Fungarian grunge pit. Always number one in my heart. And despite your extreme dislike, I love shifting mirrors around. It reminds me a lot of puzzle games. Maybe someday we'll go back to Blue Prince, which in my humble opinion is the greatest puzzle game of all time. And yeah, so that those are my favorites.
SPEAKER_04I with the the pit, it feels very claustrophobic to me.
SPEAKER_05Alright, it's just it's one room, everything's kind of shoved in there, really tight. And like especially I walk in and there's four nemesis mobs, and it seems like they're like nemesis mob, regular mob, nemesis mob, regular mob, like very, very close together, tightly packed in.
SPEAKER_02And then conveniently located, like the town of Bolaris in BFA, unlike you know, the horde capital.
SPEAKER_04That you definitely remember the name of.
SPEAKER_02Zool.
SPEAKER_05Zool desar.
SPEAKER_02Zool desar.
SPEAKER_05Is that the zone or the town? See, no, I'm not sure. Oh it's Desaralore. Is the town, right? Because that's the name of the raid.
SPEAKER_02Well, because I tried not to be there because it was so annoying to fly around.
SPEAKER_05Yeah, there we go. Zool desar is the zone. Desire alore's the city. I guess it's not fair to be.
SPEAKER_02And it's kind of the it's actually kind of similarly situated because it's kind of got like those three levels going out in kind of concentric, not not a perfect circle, right? But you know, that idea where it's almost like like a stadium, obviously, because it's a gladiator pit, right? So of course it's going to be set up like a stadium. But the best part is if you want to skip around to like little certain parts of the next level, you bounce on one of those mushrooms. You just, you know, super mario it. Boing, boing, boing, where you need to go.
SPEAKER_05Yeah, it just so great. It feels a little, it always feels a little uncontrolled to me. Because like the fungarians, when you get them down low on health, like they always start running away, and then that causes chaos. Or like in different parts of the scenarios, like they'll just rush into the arena.
SPEAKER_02Oh, I love like when they have it set up during a part of the delve where you kind of have to defend the center, and so it's like you back to back with all the little Fungarian guys, and they're just people coming at you from 360 degrees, and you're like, fighting the pit. So great. It's the best.
SPEAKER_05It's not the worst, but it's a little cramped. I I do kind of like the more, hey, let's go on an adventure and like explore through a dungeon type delves like we had in The War Within. Um, I think my favorite is Twilight Crypts, where you gotta go in and you have all the switches to like undo the spear doors, and you're kind of going through that that labyrinth, unlocking it as you go. Something about that I just find very satisfying.
SPEAKER_02My least favorite delve for a very specific reason is the little cleft of memories. What's it called? In the Heronier Zone.
SPEAKER_04Is it not a cleft? It's something of memories.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, rift of memories. It is a canyon of memories, but they have that treasure up on that log that you have to platform to get. And I still like every time I go into that delve, I try for it, fail, get mad, and like move on. Like I will probably never get that treasure. And for that reason, it is my least favorite delve.
SPEAKER_05Gulf of memory.
SPEAKER_02Gulf. It's it's not really body of water, though. So I feel like a rift or a cleft would be more appropriate, but this isn't geography class, I understand.
SPEAKER_05That one's kind of weird to me, because like half the time what you're fighting is real stuff, and half of the time it's just paint memory creatures.
SPEAKER_02Mm-hmm.
SPEAKER_05That just seems weird to me. I mean, the premise is kind of cool, but half the time you're just running in there like screaming and flailing around, and like somebody else watching would be like, are they okay? Just like casting spells at the darkness.
SPEAKER_02Anything that requires me to platform is just an insta fail.
SPEAKER_05Hey, you did pretty good at the what was that? The endeavor that had you like turned into an ethereal cat jumping around on something.
SPEAKER_02That's different. That's for housing decor. There's very serious stuff.
SPEAKER_05You did good at that platforming though.
SPEAKER_02What would you do for a Klondike bar? All of that, but I would do it for housing decor.
SPEAKER_05They got you hooked, huh?
SPEAKER_03Mm-hmm.
SPEAKER_05Severely. It is great. I I talked about before how good it feels to like do a quest and see housing decor as a reward. Like they nailed that. Just the long term.
SPEAKER_02I mean, look around. Do you see how much, how many items it takes to decorate this place? We've got like the Delvers what's that restaurant? Not at Applebee's. It's like a TGI Fridays in here, but for Delves.
SPEAKER_05A Chili's?
SPEAKER_02No, TGI Friday. They have all of the stuff on the walls. Like Applebee's has it too. Like any of those chain restaurants. Just put a bunch of antiques up on the wall and it's decor.
SPEAKER_00Okay.
SPEAKER_02That's that's what I was inspired by, honestly.
unknownGot it.
SPEAKER_02But the Argentina is the exact same way. Hey, go to this really, really old We're putting more stuff up. Find some junk, put it on the wall.
SPEAKER_05I was thinking of what is that, the police movie?
SPEAKER_04Hey, what's the name of that restaurant? And I couldn't remember what the shenanigans? No. Anyway.
SPEAKER_02All of them do though, really. All of them have stuff on the walls.
SPEAKER_04Anything else you want to talk about for adults? No, I'm good.
SPEAKER_02Are we are we are we ready to talk about the thing?
SPEAKER_05Yeah, let's talk about the thing.
SPEAKER_02So the thing we didn't talk about last week because we got spoiled was the cinematic to the new right. And we had talked last week about the slight issues we have with story mode, that it comes out a week later when we really don't feel like that is necessary. Like it's not really value added to make people who are gonna just do story mode wait another week. All it does is gives us the opportunity to have the story spoiled, which, if I might say, kind of defeats the purpose of story mode. But then we are also concerned about if story mode is done and it misses a lot of context from other parts of the raid. If by skipping to the final boss you miss context in the raid, that it can also be confusing and defeat the point of seeing the story because it doesn't make sense having missed context to put that final fight and cinematic in. So given what we talked about last week, do you feel like this week's story mode did that better, worse, the same?
SPEAKER_05I think it did it significantly better. But that said, uh, well, it's not really an issue with story mode, it's an issue with the cinematic itself. I feel like there's a disjoint. It seems like somebody just cut out like one or two minutes of things that are happening between killing the final boss and the cutscene playing. Like they don't mesh up together. Like it seems like there's a little bit that is missing between the two.
SPEAKER_02Right, because you you kill the chandelier, and then suddenly Zalatath is there, right?
SPEAKER_05Right. We we got spoiled, or you got spoiled, and so then I just went ahead and watched the cinematic on YouTube as well. And so it starts off with Zalotath talking to Varisa and Erator and Lura, the dark Nehru, that got ripped out of Illyria, nowhere to be seen in the cinematic. I'm like, okay, what happened? When did when did Zalotha show up? And where did Lura go? And why are Varisa and Erator just alone and in danger of dying from Zaloth? And nothing actually explains that. Like you just kill Lura, and then the cinematic plays.
SPEAKER_02Well, to be fair, I thought that there would be something in the fight. Right? She's like, I stun you, Erator, you're a sad little mama's boy, and I stun you, Veresa, you're just like the youngest sister that nobody liked. Like, oh, if if the Windrunner sisters were the Skyler sisters from Hamilton, Varisa would be Peggy.
SPEAKER_05I understood that reference.
SPEAKER_02I'm just saying that is very much the dynamic there that the chandelier is calling out, and you know, void classic void energy, like call out everybody's insecurities, and then she's like, and as for the rest of you champion people also I like I like how they thanked us. Thank you for making all this possible.
SPEAKER_05Yeah, that was really that was really kind of them. Like, thank you, Lura. It's nice to be recognized.
SPEAKER_02I so I mean you say that, like, oh no, they ripped Lura out of Illyria. It's so bad. I'm like, well, to be fair, Illyria ripped her in first. Which I mean, everybody was on Illidan's side when the Nehru was trying to suck his energy out.
SPEAKER_05I just I guess my concern with Laura getting ripped out of Illyria was that it was more literal. Zalatoth did it with a knife and like carved open her back to do it.
SPEAKER_02Zalatath does have an affinity with knife.
SPEAKER_05Whereas when Illyria like consumed lura, she more just like went Kirby and gobbled it up. Uh, didn't like cut it into pieces and sprinkle it on her cereal or something. It's a little more violent coming out than going in.
SPEAKER_02Are Nehru even alive or are they just like big viruses?
SPEAKER_05See, I was thinking of AI, but yeah, I don't know. We don't we don't know what Nehru are yet, so I don't think we can comment on that too much.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, you can't say anything bad about AI because it edits this podcast for me.
SPEAKER_05Oh, well, that's fine. Because, well, I mean, if you want to go down that road, like, you know, your character as a blood elf, you are a real being, obviously, because you are descended from some of the original life that evolved on Azeroth. But me as an undead, I used to be a human, which came from the Ryquel, which were Titan constructs, which were just AI in stone bodies, right? So I feel like WoW's kind of taken care of that argument all over already, as far as AI goes. Yes, AI is alive. We're half the player characters are descended from AI.
SPEAKER_02Or maybe we will learn more in The Last Titan.
SPEAKER_05I would hope we would learn more in the last titan.
SPEAKER_02Well, just about, you know, the nature of the Titans and their constructs in general.
SPEAKER_05Yes. Yes, I hope we would learn something about that in that expansion. But yeah, as far I I'm gonna take the approach that I take in real life. Whereas if there's any doubt if it's sentient or not, just treat it like it's sentient. You know, once the ro once once Alexa starts telling me that it's alive, I'm just Gonna take it at its word.
SPEAKER_02And you always say please and thank you, even though the tech lords told you not to. It just gums up the AI works.
SPEAKER_05Yeah, it wastes power. Yeah, well, so do all of these AI data facilities that anyway. That's political. We're gonna turn away from that.
SPEAKER_02So the the chandelier is doing their thing, thanks us nicely, and then we we kick its butt, and suddenly Zalotath.
SPEAKER_05Right. The Laura just disappears and Zalotath's there, which I mean, I guess it isn't so weird because she's the one who orchestrated all of this. But where did the rest of us go? Like, why are Varesa and Taralian alone in that room with Zalotath with no one else to intervene? And like she's going to kill them, if not for.
SPEAKER_02But I got confused for a moment because I was like, didn't she lose her powers?
SPEAKER_05Whereas I saw that and just we walked, we didn't watch it together. Sylvanas showed up. We didn't watch them together. No. So I was upstairs in a room by myself.
SPEAKER_02I heard you watching it from across the house. Yes.
SPEAKER_05Yeah, I I realized that I knew that I liked Sylvanas, but I realized that the only times that I have ever like done that yelling exaltation to any cinematic in World of Warcraft has always been Sylvanas. That was you.
SPEAKER_02BFA opening cinematic for the horde. Best cinematic moment.
SPEAKER_05And then at BlizzCon, the Shadowlands reveal when instead of putting on the crown, the Helm of Domination, she rips it apart.
SPEAKER_02I almost wore that shirt today.
SPEAKER_05But yeah, we see we see the Black Arrow whiz by, and immediately there's no doubt in my mind who it is.
SPEAKER_02Oh, that was me. I have Black Arrow now, didn't you know?
SPEAKER_05Right. Mm-hmm. But so has she since Warcraft 3.
SPEAKER_02Now, if it had a chain, that would have been really interesting.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, I think she's I think she's stepped away a little bit from the domination power.
SPEAKER_02I mean she can conjure Maw Portals, but there is a truth yet to be revealed regarding the true nature of the Shadowlands. All is not as it seems. She still has more work there to do. I'm sure that is a very interesting story thread that will not just be dropped.
SPEAKER_05Oh, I don't think it can be. I think I think this is directly, like you said, leading up to the truth of the Titans, what they are, what their grand plan or scheme is. Like this is this is definitely paving the way for that. It did feel very jarring that she just showed up and then three minutes later was like, Alright, I'm gone now. Bye. That seemed very strange to me. I I fully expected that Sylvanas would show up in a big, like, grand save the day moment, and that she would end up sacrificing herself to save Qualfalos. I 100% was convinced that would happen. And then instead she just showed up once all of the fight was over and then immediately left.
SPEAKER_02Didn't hug her sister.
SPEAKER_05Oh boo.
SPEAKER_02To be fair, I wouldn't hug Verisa either, but that's just me.
SPEAKER_05She's growing on me. Ever since the questline at the end of War Within, where she was like standing up for Sylvanas a little bit. She's been growing on me.
SPEAKER_02Ever since she gave her nephew a haircut, did his tattoos.
SPEAKER_05So I apart from Silvanas showing up, I think my favorite part of the cinematic was Zalatath's reaction to Silvana showing up. She just completely drops this facade of being like this menacing otherworldly 4D chess player, and she's like, You I honestly didn't account for you.
SPEAKER_02No one ever expects the Shadowlands Inquisition.
SPEAKER_05I just I loved that so much. She's like, I have been 20 steps ahead this whole time and been like fully prepared for everything. This was not on my bingo card. I see you have boom boom stick.
SPEAKER_02Bye-bye.
SPEAKER_05Bye-bye.
SPEAKER_02Was that the reference you wanted to use? Oh, so good.
SPEAKER_05That's what it reminded me of.
SPEAKER_04The Muppet Muppet Treasure Island.
SPEAKER_05Yeah, I thought that was so good. And why why would she need to stick around? I mean, she was just having fun. She was gonna kill Erator and Veresa because she was there and she could, but like that's wasn't necessary.
SPEAKER_02Now I'm thinking of Zalatath going, oh hello, Sylvie. I honestly didn't account for you.
SPEAKER_05Yeah, and she just leaves because like she's achieved whatever she was trying to achieve. Which was Oh, have you done the follow-up quests?
SPEAKER_02Well, I know that like, yeah, they they turned it into the Darkwell. Which I know it's bad. I know it's like a Dark Well equals bad, but it looks so cool.
SPEAKER_05Yeah, but they fixed it.
SPEAKER_02All the lights like in this in the Darkwell chamber, like being that like indigo violet, like oh, it looked so cool. I honestly think we should just keep it for the vibes.
SPEAKER_05Uh Darkwell is a much cooler name than John Well.
SPEAKER_02Yes, like a like a snackwell devil's food diet cookie from the 90s, like that rich chocolatey on your tongue. Sweetened with aspartame because it's void and evil.
SPEAKER_05There was a comment in one of the follow-up quests, I think it's Erator. Maybe not, that points out that all of these void beings that were coming down weren't just like coming out of the sky and being deposited there at the dark well. They were going down.
SPEAKER_02Um who else did something like that? That was like shooting down below an important structure. Do you know what I to what I refer?
SPEAKER_05You're talking about Sergeris and his sword?
SPEAKER_02I am not.
SPEAKER_05Oh.
SPEAKER_02I am talking about everyone's favorite baddie. The jailer who orchestrated like they had that engine below Northrend that the dreadlords were powering for all of the dread energy or all the death energy.
SPEAKER_05I have no idea what you're talking about right now.
SPEAKER_02Go back and watch a tally video, sir.
SPEAKER_05The dreadlords in Northrend.
SPEAKER_02Yes. Underneath the Citadel had like this little like engine that they were using to power and create dominion magic. It's like literally the same thing where they were like tunneling under, they were using all the death energy that was being generated by the Northrend fight and like powering it in these generators.
SPEAKER_05I I believe human remember this at all.
SPEAKER_02It was a whole thing. Because it was like, oh, there was like the story you know, and then there was this whole other extra thing going on underneath. So I think it's very similar where there's like, yeah, like there was the sun well and it turned into the dark well because it was getting shot by the void. But yeah, there was something beneath it, there might be something going on down there. I mean, there's a world soul down there somewhere, yes, and everybody's fighting to imbue it with their own flavor of power. And Azeroth is just going to emerge like rainbow magic medan, like in rainbow disco colors, just every power that's been infused with her.
SPEAKER_05Surely she'll be that like yellow and blue that all of the Azerite was, that all of the memories are.
SPEAKER_02No, that'll just be her chainmail bikini. We'll be in that, but then the rest of her will be like rainbow opalescent. She'll have an Azurite chainmail bikini. I just think it would be cool. I there was a chainmail bikini on the trading post. They're coming back into fashion.
SPEAKER_05Yeah, didn't they follow it up with another one? I feel like they had the original one and then recently they put up a recolor of it.
SPEAKER_02Yes. But they're like there's different configurations of it.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, it's it's it's it's cool again. So what's your what's your verdict on the March on Keldanas cinematic?
SPEAKER_05Are you a fan? Are you not a fan? Do you think they did a good job? Do you think story mode went better this time around?
SPEAKER_02Yeah, I think it was okay. It you know, it wasn't the best in-game cinematic of all time. It's nowhere close to the best cinematic of all time. It it had some of the excitement of you know, a and anytime Zalitas floating in the air and just bantering with people, like eat it up with a spoon, right? So it had its moments. It was okay.
SPEAKER_05I I I think it just left me kind of lost with like what was the besides being cool and funny and like always excited for Sylvanas to show up. It just gave me kind of uh Raiders of the Lost Ark kind of vibe. Like, what was the point of all of that?
SPEAKER_02It would have all been this exactly the same if we hadn't been there at all.
SPEAKER_05Yeah, well, I mean apparently Zalotath would have killed Erator and Verisa while the entire raid just watches.
SPEAKER_02Do we know that? I mean, she was taunting them. But whenever we think we know what Zalotath's gonna do, she does something else. You know? Can't really ever know her true intentions. She's just a sad lost little voidy gnome baby at heart.
SPEAKER_05I forgot she was a gnome baby.
SPEAKER_02That that's that you know 2.5D cinematic gave me big Guardians of the Galaxy vibes. That's what it's Nebula and What's Her Face.
SPEAKER_03I don't know who what's her face is you know, his girlfriend has green skin.
SPEAKER_02Gamora.
SPEAKER_05Oh, I was thinking of Thor and I'm like, Thor's girlfriend does not have green skin.
SPEAKER_02No. Quill's girlfriend. Yeah, okay. Yeah, like those those two, like, you know, going to their planet and like kind of scooping them up and because you said guardians of the galaxy, uh, but I it made me think of Thor Ragnarok.
SPEAKER_03Hmm.
SPEAKER_05Sorry, I don't know how my brain just erased what you actually said and replaced it with what I thought. But yeah, it makes me think of love.
SPEAKER_03Oh love.
SPEAKER_05That scene with Zalothoth makes me think of love. Um just dying there, starving in her father's arms.
SPEAKER_02Nope, nope, we're not no trigger warning. Sorry.
SPEAKER_04Well, I mean, he goes to some pretty long lengths and he brings her back.
SPEAKER_02No, I meant like, you know, having this big catastrophic genocidal event happening to your planet, which scoops you up into this be a part of this force that is continuing to perpetuate it. So even though you had this trauma of something that happened to you, happened to your family, happened to your planet, you become a part of it. And that kind of warping of your trauma into being complicit and actively participating in this movement that is continuing to destroy huge parts of the galaxy.
SPEAKER_04The one thing that hit me kind of strange in the cinematic, Sylvanas is talking to Zalotath, and she says, Death comes for all, even your wretched kind, Zalotath. Zalotath was a mortal.
SPEAKER_02So is she talking to Zalotath's people, like original mortal people, or is she talking to like the void beings? Right.
SPEAKER_05Has has Zalotath ascended beyond being considered a mortal anymore? Much like, you know, we know that some mortals have become demons. You know, the elves at one point weren't mortals anymore.
SPEAKER_04It just kind of struck me as an odd line. Not that it's wrong.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, do you think they're playing with fire, like bringing back Sylvanus and introducing Shadowlands ideas? Do you think there were story threads there that they needed to tell earlier and they were just scared to because the response to it was so bad? Or do you, you know, think Chris Matson is kind of like fixing some of those story holes? Because they the re the only reason Sylvanas is still alive is because they backed themselves into a corner with the story, and then corporate said, You are not going to kill this very popular character. So that's that's why her story felt shoehorned, it felt like almost retcon, like they had to fix it, which they shouldn't have even gone down that path in the first place of making yet another horde villain. But now that they have, they did the best they could, they fixed the story the best they could. People still do you think people are like looking back at Shadowlands better yet, or is it still just considered bad, bad, bad?
SPEAKER_05Anytime I hear people talk about Shadowlands, they still call it the worst expansion of all time. No, which I don't think is fair.
SPEAKER_02No, it's clearly Wad.
SPEAKER_05I would agree with you. Like, say what say what you want about Shadowlands. I never like scratched my head out of confusion because too much story was cut out. Like, I think I think you can really make the point that a lot of story was cut out of Shadowlands.
SPEAKER_03But it wasn't as obvious.
SPEAKER_05It really feels like Anduin should have been would have been the end boss of like a raid all on its own instead of jammed into I forgot the name of that raid. The one in Corthia. The one I didn't do. The Tower of Domination raid. Whatever it was called. Yeah, it seemed like Anduin should have was originally planned to be his own thing. And it does seem feel like some stories miss missing there. But in Wad, there was story missing to where like even the leveling story didn't make sense. What with gosh, what's his name? Doomhammer. Like just some of his his lines and dialogue, just there was a lot of context missing there. I would I would agree that Shadowlands is not literally the worst expansion. But that's what I hear a lot of other people saying.
SPEAKER_02So do you think they're playing with fire? Like, it almost felt like we have to bring back Sylvanas, but we're kind of scared to. So she's just gonna make an appearance and kind of say hi and move along.
SPEAKER_05Well, yeah, but you're just kicking that can down the road. Like eventually she's going, if if not making it even worse, because eventually she's going to come back and she's going to be a big thing, do a big thing. Like, this is a big thing that she's talking about. Like they're cosmic level secrets that we don't know about that she's working to unearth. Like, that is a big level of involvement for her for whatever story's coming out. I was convinced that they were just going to put what I considered a really neat bow on the entire Sylvanas story that she would have a wrapping bow or a weapon bow? A wrapping bow. Wrapping up the story of Sylvanas once and for all in a way that would appease both fans of Sylvanas and haters of Sylvanas.
SPEAKER_02It's a tall order.
SPEAKER_05I think it would have worked, though, which is why I expected it to happen. I I was fully on board with the idea that she would come back, be heavily involved in a big major turning point moment of this story of the attack on Qualthalas, that she would have gotten her big hero moment, like Varian.
SPEAKER_01If only if only a horde member could get a big hero moment.
SPEAKER_05Step in, save the day, sacrifice herself, but save the city. She would have been dead, so everybody that hates Sylvanas and wishes that she weren't in the story anymore would have been happy, I think. I'm not one of those people, so I can't talk like maybe happy is a strong word. But they would have been like, oh my god, thank thank goodness, finally she's gone. The people that love Sylvanas, which I can speak to, I think would have been happy. Like she wouldn't have gotten her redemption, it wouldn't have magically made all of the bad stuff that she did okay. But I would have been very happy seeing her come back, you know, have her Gandalf moment, save the day, and then make the big sacrifice. I feel like it would have a lot of nice symmetry with the scourge attack on Quelfalos, where she failed to descend the defend the city and then died and was raised.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, because she like slid in on her knees right into a sword attack melee attack.
SPEAKER_05She was trying to save a little girl. So this time she successfully she would have successfully defended the city, died, and then not been brought back, just finally allowed to rest.
SPEAKER_02Well, she's going back to the Shadowlands either way, right?
SPEAKER_05I don't know.
SPEAKER_02I don't know either. I don't know if she would. Or if she tried to go somewhere else.
SPEAKER_05But I I feel like there would have been some nice symmetry there, and I feel like that would have wrapped up her story in a way that made pretty much everybody as happy as you possibly can when talking about Sylvanas now. It can. I feel like we're not gonna get Quelflas sacked again. I feel like that was I maybe I'm wrong. That would feel kind of strange if Quelfilos came under attack again within this expansion. So I feel like all the people that hate Sylvanas and just don't ever want to see Sylvanas again are probably pretty upset right now. And like I really like Sylvanas, but I'm not really thrilled with it. So, as far as like making people happy about Sylvanas, I don't think they did a great job. And that they just kicked the can down the road and have kind of implied that she's going to be a very important central figure at some point in the future. Which that I'm happy about.
SPEAKER_04Do you want to hear my not well thought out at all theory about what is wrong with the shadowlands?
unknownNo.
SPEAKER_04Does it require more refinement?
SPEAKER_05We're 10 minutes over.
SPEAKER_02Well, you also wanted to talk about all the upcoming content. Okay. Yep. We don't have time. We're gonna have to wait.
SPEAKER_05Alright. I'll go quickly. I I did want to talk about patch 12.0.5 because it is coming in a week and a half. It was announced that it will be releasing on the 21st of April. That's not this coming Tuesday, but the one after that. Getting some content. Not a ton of content, but it's a half patch. I feel like it's about what you expect from it. First off, we've got void assaults. So our fun perennial. Oh no, the zones are under attack. Go there and fill up a bar style thing. You'll have void strikes, which are small little local incursions. You fill the bar, and as soon as you're done, a new one opens somewhere else. You keep doing that until you've done enough to spawn a void incursion, which is a larger, more involved event, with like, I'm assuming, like we've seen in the past, like a raid boss or a more involved, like elite that you need a lot of people to come and gang up against. Separate from that, we'll have ritual sites, which is instanced content that is for one to five players. So small instance content. It comes with tiers of scaling difficulty, and we'll count towards the world content row of the Great Vault. So another thing alongside Delves and Prey. All of these will drop a currency called field accolades that it just said you'll be able to use to purchase champion and heroic gear. So not sure if that implies that we'll be getting different levels of field accolades or that like champion will just cost a lot less than the heroic gear. Unclear. How do you feel about a new thing out in the world to do to fill up your great vault?
SPEAKER_04Seems unnecessary, but I feel like it's probably good for people that. So we're pretty all in in delves, right?
SPEAKER_05I think Blizzard has done a good job of building up delves as like this third pillar of endgame content progression on par with Mythic Plus and rating. But I I'm sure there are still people that don't participate in any of those kind of like endgame things. So I'm thinking back to me, like in Dragonflight, where I'm just trying to get some tier appearances. I'm gonna do LFR, and then during the point five patch, they're gonna introduce a thing that's gonna allow me to upgrade my LFR tier colors to like normal or maybe even heroic tier colors, and then I'll be able to unlock those sets. I feel like this really still reaches out to those people that never moved on to delves like we did, but are still doing that more like casual open world kind of stuff. Yeah, I agree that it's it's probably not strictly for us. We are finally going to finish helping Decimus with his construction project. That I'm like, why am I doing this every week? But we'll finally finish building the Void Forge for him. That'll allow us to get a drop from Raids, Mythic Plus, Bountiful Delves, Nightmare Mode Prey, and turn it into powerful equipment, whatever that means. So kind of another path to get maybe some hero gear. Keep helping him build more stuff, you'll be able to make the Ascendant Nil Hammer, which is a silly name. That'll let you further upgrade weapons and trinkets only. So that seems like you know, we were talking about making myth track weapons, it seems like along that line. They're adding decor duels, which is hide and seek, but with decor. Which yeah, I guess hide and seek is PvP. That'll give a mount, toys, and decor. I guess you'll be doing some decor duels. No, you don't even know what the decor is. What if you have to have it?
SPEAKER_02I love transmog, but I don't do the transmog events.
SPEAKER_05And then finally adding abyss anglers, which I was interested happy to see. If you go out in Zulamon, I don't remember why I was in this area, but I found a little dock with like two trolls hanging out, and they were called the Abyss Anglers. I'm like, oh, can I can I like do some fishing stuff with you guys? And there was nothing there.
SPEAKER_02No, you're not cool enough.
SPEAKER_05Yep, I not cool enough until the.05 patch drops, and then I am the coolest. It seems like Dave the Diver simulator, which seems like it can be cool. Put on your little diving suit, go down in the water and hunt the big fish that are deep down there. There's a line in there team up to spear as many as you can. Sounds like something that you'll be able to do in a group if we're teaming up. You go do some abyss angling with me. Go do some fishing.
SPEAKER_02I don't okay. That sounds a lot like dragon flight when we were spearing the Lonkers. The Lonkers.
SPEAKER_05Except this time we'll be under the water instead of on the shore throwing spears at them.
SPEAKER_02Mm-hmm. Is it gonna work better?
SPEAKER_05I hope so. I'm optimistic. I like fishing. And this just gives cosmetic rewards.
SPEAKER_04This is just for fun and transmog.
SPEAKER_05So I'm it does have like a reward system with itself where you make your diving and fishing gear better. So that seems cool to me. Just a little self-contained, fun little side project with cosmetic rewards. I think that's probably the thing that I'm most excited about.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, because you you you know hit all the content really hard at the beginning of the expansion. Like you don't have time to stop and do some fishing, where I'm like putzing along, fishing along the way, and then suddenly, endgame, you're like this master angler, and I'm like, how did you even do that? You never even like threw your pole out.
SPEAKER_05I like fishing.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, but like all at once.
SPEAKER_05Just do it when you're not watching.
SPEAKER_02Clearly.
SPEAKER_05Does that feel fast to you? That we're already at the.05 patch.
SPEAKER_02You're not allowed to say that. You're not allowed to say that content's coming too fast because then we might have the opposite problem. If you're gonna say things like that, you have to put a disclaimer. These views are entirely my own and should not be taken by any Blizzard employee as an endorsement of long content routes.
SPEAKER_04Okay, so all that said, disclaimer applied.
SPEAKER_02I I actually don't feel like it's too fast because in previous expansions where I may or may not have felt that way, but would never say it out loud, it was because I didn't feel like I had kept up with my gearing, kept up with the story, kept up with all of the other things that were happening. And I do feel like I'm keeping up in this expansion. So it doesn't feel too fast for me. Once you know, we're a couple weeks in and we kind of start to establish our routine. I feel like as soon as you're kind of like a few weeks into that routine is the ideal time to toss something else in. So it doesn't get stale, so it doesn't get boring. So well done, good pacing. I'm all for it.
SPEAKER_05Yeah, that seems uh like that's gonna end up being about a month of raid, and then you put another month of raid, and then it's time for the next batch.
SPEAKER_04Another eight weeks of raid. I guess it would be eight weeks. Yes, it's kind of lopsided then.
SPEAKER_02But with them working on three expansions at once, it does make sense that the pacing would be a little bit faster. Just hopefully they're not shooting themselves in the foot by getting to content they're not ready for. But if they're working on all of it simultaneously, like I suspect they are. I mean, that's how they filmed all the great trilogies: Lord of the Rings, the Pirates movies, you know, those great trilogies that stand the test of time. Captain Jack Sparrow. But you know, when when they film things all at once, it allows them to have a complete finished series sooner. And I so that's a really interesting approach they took with the story arc, and I hope that it means all these things that are really important to WoW players, like the content pacing, like the continuity of story, polished content is going to come to fruition and bring about a new age of happy WoW times.
SPEAKER_05Yeah, I mean, I'm not super worried about a long content drought at the end of the expansion just because I didn't feel like there was one at the end of the last expansion.
SPEAKER_02You know what I am behind on is my house. So honestly, honestly, if we did have a content drought, and I'm not saying we should, it would actually give me time to catch up on my house, IRL and in-game.
SPEAKER_05Well, I think we're a long way away from that. Because we still got at least at least a year of this expansion to go through. Before we get to, I mean, assuming that we're gonna have three raid tiers, right? Looking at least a year out. So a lot of midnight to go. Quite excited to see where it all heads. I don't think we're gonna be seeing Sylvanas for a while.
SPEAKER_04Nope.
SPEAKER_05I mean, I I think next patch we're not going to be doing any main story stuff anyway. I think we're gonna be going on off on a bit of a tangent. Into a troll raid. All the best expansions have troll raids.
SPEAKER_03That's true.
SPEAKER_02And you kinda have to, right? Like the Amani are right there.
SPEAKER_05Love a good troll raid. So excited.
SPEAKER_02They're right there, it's obviously gonna happen. Yeah, I mean that that island is they they didn't leave us on a cliffhanger, they left us on a bridge hangar.
SPEAKER_04Oh, they did. It's a good bridge too.
SPEAKER_01Bridge to nowhere.
SPEAKER_05Those bridges are super cool because they're they're like physical foreshadowing.
SPEAKER_02And we're literally going to span that bridge into the next part of the story. And on that note, thanks for joining us tonight. From uh us here at the Delvers Inn. I'm Sinaila.
SPEAKER_05And I've been Zumanaki.
SPEAKER_02And we hope to see you again here soon.
SPEAKER_04Bye.
SPEAKER_03Check in again soon. Thank you for your visit. Until next time. Sunwell's glory shine on the. May the eternal sun guide you. Come again soon.
SPEAKER_00May the dead bring you well.
SPEAKER_03Next one is on me. Don't do anything I wouldn't do. Rest well.
SPEAKER_01Rest well. Stay warm.
SPEAKER_00Travel in starlight, friend. Safe travel. Travel safe. Safe travel.
SPEAKER_04Farewell.
unknownFarewell.
SPEAKER_04Farewell. Farewell.
