SPEAKER_01

Anuballore del Anna.

SPEAKER_00

Keep your eyes on the horizon. Gather at the inn. It's safe there.

SPEAKER_03

Our hospitality is yours.

SPEAKER_02

All guests are welcome here.

SPEAKER_00

Hello, and welcome to the Delvers Inn. I'm Zanila.

SPEAKER_04

And I'm Zemanake.

SPEAKER_00

And here we are at our first half patch of midnight. 12.0.5. A lot of folks have been uh saying it's a buggy one.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, it's uh there's definitely some scenes showing.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, I mean when Blizz issues an apology note, you know, you know it's you know something that needs to be addressed. I haven't encountered a ton of bugs since the patch released. I think I've just been strategically playing in such a way that I've dodged most of them. But yeah, I've been spending some time checking out the new content. I usually don't do a lot of my housing stuff until later in the week. I'll typically, you know, do some activities, get my caches, get my keys, and then concentrate on delving to fill out my vault, and then towards the end of the week or the end of the weekend, I'll circle back around to some cozy time in my housing. So I completely avoided the whole housing is down. But I can imagine how stressful that would have been. Is my house gone? Is it gonna come back?

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, they just shut it down completely, didn't they?

SPEAKER_00

Yes, it was yikes. And that like I said, I didn't actually encounter that because I wasn't in that cycle of the week where I was going for it. But if I came to spiffy up the inn and the inn wasn't there, I would have been quite distressed.

SPEAKER_04

Oh man, I can only imagine. I remember when when I moved my house that I had designed into uh a new neighborhood, and I was like, this should just transfer completely fine, right? Because I'm going from one plot to the next one, and then I signed the deed, as it were, and like my house transferred over, and for like just one or two seconds, it turned into the standard, like basic here's your horde house model. And I'm like, Oh no, I just lost everything, and then it like popped in, and I warned you that that would happen uh for when you did it later. But yeah, I could I could only imagine how freaked out you would be if you thought you lost everything because you put in a lot more work than I have.

SPEAKER_00

Well, and it like there's my main's house that I have in the Horde neighborhood, and then I had made a house in the Alliance neighborhood just to kind of you know play around with some of the night elf aesthetic and things like that. And then when we started doing this podcast, I actually wanted to create the inn that you know would be our home for the podcast. And once I got the idea of it, it should have not only like a tavern-like feel in the first floor, but also guest rooms, then I started realizing that my original layout for the house I had just been kind of playing with was not going to work. So I had to redo the house, and of course, that will delete all of the items you've placed in a room if you have to restructure the house. And the only room that I had really given a lot of like thought and detail to was the kitchen. It was very cozy, very cottage core, and it's still not right. Like I came back to try and recreate it, what I had done before, and it's still not right. So yes, I I can absolutely imagine the panic of thinking your entire house was gone.

SPEAKER_04

What when you say delete, you mean it just puts it like back in storage? Yes. Okay.

SPEAKER_00

That would be bad.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, I haven't done that, and I was like, oh no, does it actually like get rid of it and destroy it for good? Surely it doesn't.

SPEAKER_00

Well, when you're using advanced mode and placing everything just so like I was very upset. I started making the chessboard with those prey statues outside before I realized, duh, like the your outside budget is nothing. There's no way you can create. So even then, I was only halfway done with it, and I had already been like arranging the tiles to make the chess pattern. Ugh. Housing, it could be a heartbreaker. So what else is new in this patch? I tried some of the new content. It's not bad. We have a variation of our typical half-patch content where we get some kind of incursion, assault, some type of you know limited time event that happens in a certain area that usually has a few stages. And that's all fine. We have the new what do we want to call them? They're not delves. Oh, the ritual sites. The ritual sites. They're almost kind of what was we were comparing it to? That old god kind of content.

SPEAKER_04

Oh gosh, yeah.

SPEAKER_00

The Nazoth.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, yeah. The horrors? I knew it before you asked me.

SPEAKER_00

Of course, that's how it goes. As soon as I specify a certain name, it's gone.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, where sh where Stormwind and Orgrimmar were were taken over and kind of corrupted in visions. I've almost got it.

SPEAKER_00

Horrific visions.

SPEAKER_04

Horrific visions, there we go.

SPEAKER_00

Because there is a tier system to it, right? But you're also kind of performance-based. Like you don't have a life countdown like you do in the delves.

SPEAKER_04

No, but you do get a penalty if you die.

SPEAKER_00

Right. So, but in theory, you could die on limited times and still And just get no rewards. Right. But also there's not a countdown timer, there's a count up timer to s yeah, I saw I saw this in the notes.

SPEAKER_04

I did not know there was a timer at all. Oh, well, it somehow I've engaged with the system quite a bit and never realized there was a timer.

SPEAKER_00

No, when you finish, it tells you how much time it took you.

SPEAKER_04

I don't look at those stats. Okay.

SPEAKER_00

But is some of the reward based on how long it takes you?

SPEAKER_04

I didn't think so. From what I could see, everything is kind of score-based, and you get extra score by like killing the mini bosses, killing the bosses, finding treasures once you unlock treasures, and then dying decreases your score. And then the amount of field medals, the currency that you get at the end, is just a flat 10% of your score. It's like if you get a score of 300, you'll get 30 field medals.

SPEAKER_00

Okay. And how many field medals do you need to get something good?

SPEAKER_04

500 to get a random heroic piece. Yeah, that seems like a lot. I definitely have not been using my field medals to try to buy gear. I've been, those have all been straight going into the gotcha boxes for the tier two purple recolor, which I'm having a good time with. I was able to get the entire warlock set without putting in too much time. And then all those other pieces that I get, you know, I have a I have a character of each of the 13 classes, so I don't really feel like anything's going to waste when I accidentally get like seven out of nine of the druid set, trying to get all of the pieces for my warlock set. It's like, well, I have a druid that I'm actively playing. That's fine, and it looks cool. But I can see how that wouldn't feel great for somebody that only has like one character having to spend all that extra care currency to try to just get the one set that they're looking for. That said, they're not, you know, they're not too expensive, the boxes. They're only five apiece, and then they cost more Marl than that, which I know also matters more to you than it does to me.

SPEAKER_00

I mean, Marl is money, man.

SPEAKER_04

But I've enjoyed that. I like the the tier two, you know, this is the third coloration of the high def tier two that they've done. They had the original one for the 20th anniversary and like a red rec and black kind of recoloration, celebrating, I think, Diablo initially, and then it I feel like it came back. Did it come back for Diablo again, or did it come back for something else? I'm not sure.

SPEAKER_00

Are you just making up stuff now?

SPEAKER_04

I might be just making up animals. But yeah, it's nice that they've they've got the purple ones. I know a lot of people liked the original purple tier two sets that were from Burning Crusade that you could get. Uh so it's cool that we're getting an HD version of the purple recolor.

SPEAKER_00

That is good.

SPEAKER_03

I'm a fan.

SPEAKER_00

So we were talking about the new content. Did you encounter any bugs in the system that might have mildly enraged you?

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, so I ran in, or I guess I was affected by two bugs. Uh, the first one I only got the positive side of that, and that was the bug where initially the way that the reroll tokens are supposed to work that they added to Decimus is that you spend a token, you get a random piece of gear, and then that gear is kind of locked. Like you will not get that piece again if you re-roll. So eventually, if you just spend enough tokens, you will you can get the one thing that you're looking for. That was not working correctly with Mythic Plus. People were spending their reroll tokens and getting duplicate items. So Blizz has fixed that, and then it seems like they weren't able to only see who actually was affected by getting a duplicate piece. So they just gave anybody who spent a re-roll token in that window. They refunded them a re-roll token.

SPEAKER_01

Oh, okay.

SPEAKER_04

Uh so I did get a third re-roll token on some of my characters, uh, even though I didn't get any duplicates because I wasn't doing Mythic Plus. Uh so that was just a nice kind.

SPEAKER_03

Was it Fall Wind? That's not right.

SPEAKER_00

Windfall.

SPEAKER_03

Windfall, there we go.

SPEAKER_00

Windfall, wind runner.

SPEAKER_04

The other bug that I did run into that uh that you were saying was mildly enraging. I went to do the Shadow Enclave Delve on my favorite story mode with the mirrors. I love the mirrors so much.

SPEAKER_00

I love how you won't do them with me, but you'll do them without me.

SPEAKER_04

It's because I just need to like be grumpy on my own. I don't want to be grumpy with you. I'm just simmering over here, dealing with the glare. But so I go in and everything's fine right up until I pick up that very first mirror, and then I can't strafe anymore. And strafing is broken for the entire dungeon and is continue to be broken until I finish the dungeon, hearth out, and then reload my character. So it is fixed by just reloading, but it was reliably caused by picking up that very first mirror in the delve, and you have to pick that up to start progressing. So there's there's kind of no way to avoid it, and then you're just you know, if you reload and you're in the delve, it's still broken. But once you leave the delve and you reload, it's fixed. So you you just I had to commit to just doing the delve without being able to strafe, and that was not great. All that muscle memory is programmed deep, man.

SPEAKER_00

You were experiencing strafe, strafe?

SPEAKER_04

You could say so, yeah. I haven't seen any posts on whether that's been fixed yet, and that delve hasn't come up again.

SPEAKER_00

Maybe you are literally the only person that noticed it. I'm not because until you put in that bug report.

SPEAKER_04

Uh I'm not the only one who noticed it because as soon as I noticed it happening to me, I went to the forums and saw lots of other people reporting it. So it's definitely not just on me, and it's on the forums. I'm sure Blizzard is aware of it at this point.

SPEAKER_03

I just don't know if it's been fixed.

SPEAKER_04

Other thing that changed for me with the patch, which isn't a bug, but I knew it was a thing because I saw it in the patch notes, but then I kind of forgot about it until I was playing my warrior and ran up to a mob who cast a shield on themselves, and then all of a sudden my wrecking throw lit up. I was like, why is that lit up? They added a thing to make it light up whenever you're fighting an enemy that has a shield, just as a little reminder to be like, hey, them having a shield affects this button, you should press it. Because, you know, wrecking throw does a lot more damage to shielded enemies. Um gives you that nice kind of shield breaker ability. Uh and I thought that was cool. I thought that was a nice new feature. Quality of life change.

SPEAKER_02

Because I always forget to hit that button.

SPEAKER_00

What else do we have in regards to new content going on? We talked a little bit about the ritual sites.

SPEAKER_01

Mm-hmm.

SPEAKER_04

We we mentioned the void assaults and void incursions. I gotta say, I'm not a fan. Yeah, they they like Blizzard likes to do this kind of thing. You know, they've done it in the all the last expansions. Where oh no, the bad guys show up, go fill a bar, and then do a thing. And like usually I'm I'm kind of a fan of it. I think I think they're okay, even though it might feel a little bit samey. Like we had it back in BFA where the other faction would come in and attack our zones. We had it in Dragonflight, where the trials. Yeah, I was gonna say Farrak showed up and like started burning the areas. And so usually I think they're fine. Uh, this one feels a bit underwhelming to me. Um like so you have to do you can do void assaults, and as soon as one ends, like the next one will just pop up. So you can just chain run those over and over and over again. And like each time you get some Marl, you get eight field medals. I think you get one or two other things that like I can't couldn't even be bothered to pay attention to. So it's not can't be anything too amazing. But then all the while there's a bar that's filling up on its own that when that bar gets to a hundred, it unlocks a void incursion, which is a more involved like thing. It's kind of multi-stage. Well, all of them are multi-stage, but this one requires a lot more people. The one I got was in well, they're all happening in Zoolamon, but the one in Zulaman that I did, you were at the location where like the cult the Twilight's cultists still have kind of a little base going on, and it started off, and you had to like defend yourself from a siege by these ethereals that showed up, and then you'd go break out of your little fallback position and go attack them and blow up their mechs and did a fly around thing. So it was it was like a pretty long, pretty involved process, and then at the end of it, you'd get 30 field medals. Like, okay, that was pretty time involving. I'm not sure. 30 was enough, but then also that bar ticking up on the incursion just moves so slowly. And it seemed like I was doing the void assaults, and in the time that it took to do a shorter one, it would only go up three percent. Like I was sitting around for a while, just chain running these, and I really wanted to do the incursion and see what it was, and it just seemed like it took so long to get to the incursion. And then when I finally got there, I'm like, this didn't feel worth my time.

SPEAKER_00

Do you think um there's a lore reason why they might be only happening in Zulamon, seeing as where that's the next patch is taking us?

SPEAKER_04

So they they're only happening in Zoolamon this week.

SPEAKER_00

Okay.

SPEAKER_04

So this week, the assaults and the incursions are happening in Zoolamon, and the ritual site is in Eversong. And then next week, I believe those will flop.

SPEAKER_00

Ah.

SPEAKER_04

So that would have been cool. The assaults and incursions will be in Eversong, and the ritual site will be in Zulamon. Um, so they won't be going to Herandar, and they won't be going to Void Storm, but they'll flip-flop back between the other two on the surface of Azeroth zones.

SPEAKER_02

Okay.

SPEAKER_04

And then that kind of leads to my biggest complaint about prey ritual sites, which they're fine.

SPEAKER_00

Better or worse than prey.

SPEAKER_03

I'd say worse than prey. Okay. Just be there's one.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_04

Like, and that wouldn't be so bad on its own, but then the highest tier ritual sites drop better gear than any other world activities. So like they drop better gear than doing tier 11 delves. They drop, well, sorry, I'm saying drop, they give you better gear in your vault than tier 11 delves or nightmare prey. So those both give you heroic one out of six in your vault, and the highest level ritual sites will give you four out of six in your vault, and that's the only thing that you can do to get four out of six heroic in your vault. So if you want three choices of four out of six heroic in your vault come Tuesday, you have to do eight high-tier ritual sites. Um, and I just don't think that's a lot of fun. Um because it's just it's the exact same thing eight times over. It's the same scenario, the same mini bosses, the same placement of the mobs. Like you can get some variation by changing the challenges that you choose. Right? Because you know, eventually there are no challenges, and then as you go up in higher tiers, you have to choose one, then two, then three, four, I think, at the highest.

SPEAKER_02

Real question here.

SPEAKER_03

I'm not gonna change those every run.

SPEAKER_04

Like, I'm gonna find which ones I like doing, and then those are just always gonna be enabled, and I'm gonna run it.

SPEAKER_00

Well, I can tell you right now, the ones I'm gonna like the most are as close to the nightmare prey challenges as I can possibly get. Like, we already have you know the little like pool that forms, right?

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, you're talking about the in Nightmare Prey, you've got the blood pool that pops up that you gotta run out of, and then the ritual sites you've got the green root circle.

SPEAKER_00

Yep. So tell me, because I just Nightmare Prey is so beloved to my heart. I just want to recreate ritual sites in its exact image.

SPEAKER_04

I are you are you being sarcastic, right?

SPEAKER_00

I don't know. Can you tell?

SPEAKER_04

Not really. What are the other ones? So there's one that makes it when you kill an enemy, it puts down like a pool of bad, uh, which isn't a prey one, but that used to be one of the mythic plus effects.

SPEAKER_00

I remember that.

SPEAKER_04

In mythic plus, the the pool of bad would like heal any mobs that were in it. This one doesn't do that, it just it's a pool of ick that hurts you.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, one of the like three times I did a mythic key.

SPEAKER_04

There's obelisks in the ritual site. Um, and so one of them will empower the obelisk or make the obelisks empower the mini bosses and big boss. I don't like that one. Uh I think that's too disruptive and like changes your route too much. I probably wouldn't go with that one. It makes the mobs quite a bit harder and gives them an additional ability. Uh, I accidentally ran in and started fighting the penultimate mini boss who had two spires active on him, and that was I almost got one shot at the end, and I don't understand the mechanic that almost one shot me. So I don't know. I probably won't.

SPEAKER_00

Well, didn't you read your dungeon guide?

SPEAKER_04

Right. I okay. I feel like ritual sites and delves like should have a dungeon guide if they're gonna put in more complicated mechanics that can like one shot. Again, that just doesn't seem on par with with dungeons and raids, like having that information readily but available. Where like I just don't understand what's going on. And don't have a resource in-game to find that out. There's another one that just empowers random enemies with like motes of power. And so they'll just be a little bit more beefed up. There's one that adds patrols that it says are like powerful and that you want to avoid. I haven't actually done that one, so I don't know if you really need to avoid them or not. There's one that just adds more mobs, like there's quite a few of them. Um, and they have a lot of variety, but again, I don't think the way people are going to be playing it is just changing them up. And people are going to find the ones that they like that they can do and handle the most easily, and then stick with that. And then so you're you're asking people, hey, if you want the best rewards, you got to do this one scenario, the exact same layout and the exact same content eight times in a row. Which, yeah, you're saying, is it better or worse than prey? At least prey has different targets for you to hunt. Like, so you're kind of doing the same thing, but it is sending you to different zones that are filled with different mobs, and you're fighting like the the big bad that's ambushing you and that you're gonna fight at the end, has like different abilities. So there's at least some variation there.

SPEAKER_00

Um I mean, hey, if we were raiding, how many times would we you know bash our head against a boss before we moved on?

SPEAKER_03

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

But that might just be at the level that we were raiding, right?

SPEAKER_03

I don't know. We did okay. We we raided her rook.

SPEAKER_00

It was just fine and very entertaining.

unknown

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

With the group we were in. But it it had to be a good group. And by good, I mean like completely chill and not actually caring if we won or not.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, I'm I'm not sure raids is the right comparison.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_04

I think it is more akin to like in um in Legion where people that wanted to engage with the Mythic Plus system were in cur or sorry. People that were wanting to maximize their artifact power were doing so by engaging with the mythic plus system in a degenerate way where they would just chain run the Maw of Souls dungeon over and over and over and over and over and over and over again. So that seems more like what's being asked of us here. But in that case, Blizzard didn't want people running Maw of Souls over and over again, and in this case, everything is set up to encourage you to just do the same ritual site over and over again. I think it would have been mitigated if both ritual sites were available in the same week.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_04

So you could go do some Eversong, you could do some Zulamon, but with literally there just being one option to get the four out of six heroic gear. I don't know. I'm probably not gonna bother. I'll just get the one out of six and upgrade it.

SPEAKER_00

But hey, the thing you are going to bother with, your favorite part of the new patch.

SPEAKER_03

Oh, fishing, yeah.

SPEAKER_04

So I I dove into that quite extensively on patch day, and I haven't gone back, but I will at some point. Just actually been trying to do like delves and Master Angler Zumanaki? Yeah, I got all the low-hanging fruit. So all the things that weren't like go catch 500 fish in order to get this achievement. But I got all the upgrades and it was a good time. I never really saw myself doing a very low-key low pressure version of a first-person shooter in World of Warcraft. Sorry, I guess a third-person shooter. Sorry. But that that's kind of the mechanics that are going on. Like you have a spear gun and you have the little like I'm in a vehicle targeting reticule that we've had forever, and you're aiming at the fish and you're shooting them. Some fish are weak and they only need to be shot once. Some fish have scales, and so each shot will remove a layer of scales from them, and then once all the scales are gone, if you hit them again, you'll catch the fish.

SPEAKER_00

Are they rainbow scales that you have to share with everyone?

SPEAKER_04

Mm-mm. Nope. No friendship fishing. There is a, I guess, version of a raid boss in it, though, which is one of those big Nessie creatures. I don't know what the big swimmy dinosaur is.

SPEAKER_00

The lock nest monster.

SPEAKER_04

Well, right, but I I don't know what they were.

SPEAKER_00

Oh, the dinosaur that it's kind of based on.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, I don't know what that creature's name is.

SPEAKER_00

That's not my your daughter would know.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, she would, but she's not here to ask. Yeah, so that shows up and it's a big like it's a legendary fish if you manage to catch it. Um gives some good level of pearls. Um but that thing has a lot of scales. I think it has like upwards of 90 on its main body. So you're kind of doing a little raid boss encounter. There is a timer on the activity in the form of your air tank, which just constantly ticks down at a rate, so it's it's effectively a clock.

SPEAKER_00

As an undead, does that miff you a little bit?

SPEAKER_04

I did have a moment where I was like, this doesn't make any sense, and then I'm like, it's a video game mechanic, don't worry about it too much. Might miff me a little bit more if it was a limited activity, but you can just go do this as many times as you want. Like your timer runs down and you're done, and you can just immediately go again and go again and go again and go again. I don't know, but yeah, it doesn't make a ton of sense that, like, oh no, my oxygen ran out. It's like I don't breathe. Which still gets me when I play a character that's not undead.

SPEAKER_00

Oh no.

SPEAKER_04

I'm like, I forgot. What is this blue bar at the top of the screen?

SPEAKER_00

I just ah, I have always thought it was so surprising and kind of charming that your main character with all of its you know, his backstory is a master angler and just is so into fishing that you have a little fishing area set up on your house plot.

SPEAKER_04

And yeah, it got me because my first air character was actually a night elf because I loved the night elves in Warcraft 3, and very early on in the zone, just ran across this other night elf at a pool, and hey, I'm a fishing trainer. I'm like, oh, this is kind of chill, this is cool. Take a break from the game and like do something different than questing or fighting mobs, just sit here and fish. And will I ever get anything good out of it? Turns out mostly not, except for the fish themselves, which um historically, through all the expansions, have sold for quite a bit of money. Can always make a good life as a fisherman in WoW.

SPEAKER_00

I I fish exactly as much as I need to to level up my cooking. Because I I enjoy the cooking part of it. But no, you're like you don't just fish, you like actively gear so that you are geared up as a master angler.

SPEAKER_04

I that might have used to be true.

SPEAKER_00

Uh-huh.

SPEAKER_04

Uh I don't really do that anyway.

SPEAKER_00

I think Since it's switched to all crafted gear.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah. Yeah. And then as well, like there's not a slot for the for your fishing hat. And that really hits me the wrong way. There's a slot for your fishing rod, like in your crafting gear panel, but there's no spot for your hat. I don't want to actually put on a real hat. Like I don't have to equip a skinning knife anymore.

SPEAKER_00

Right.

SPEAKER_04

Like you did in Vanilla where you had to get, you know, Finkel Skinner or something, and it was an actual sword.

SPEAKER_00

Mm-hmm.

SPEAKER_04

Or dagger.

SPEAKER_00

Well, but like there's a like for so many other professions, like when I'm picking flowers, I have that ridiculous hat on. Except on my dragon, it looks amazing. But you know, so that that's really weird to me that the fishing hat doesn't.

SPEAKER_04

You just double check and make sure that I'm not completely off my rocker. No. Yeah, you get one slot for your fishing rod, and then there's nothing else. No fishing boots, no fishing hat. Just a fishing pole.

SPEAKER_00

And those are like the most stylish things you can wear. The hat and the boots.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, so no, I I've kind of stepped away from getting that max level.

SPEAKER_03

Hey, look at me, I've got the best fishing gear stuff.

SPEAKER_00

But it is void fishing, isn't it?

SPEAKER_04

Well, there are little like black hole void circles that you can fish in in void storm. But everywhere else you can just fish in normal water.

SPEAKER_00

Well, right, but the specifically the abyss anglers.

SPEAKER_04

No, the abyss anglers are trolls. Oh, they're in the very northeast of Zulaman.

SPEAKER_00

By the bridge?

SPEAKER_04

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

The bridge to nowhere? Okay. I just thought I just heard abyss, and I was thinking storm.

SPEAKER_04

They're actually closer to the island shrouded in fog that we're not allowed to go to than they are to the mainland of Zoolamon. They're pretty far out there. So the abyss that you're fishing is just a big trench in the water. So yeah, you're putting on your diving suit and going underwater with your uh spear gun and just shooting regular fish.

SPEAKER_00

Better or worse than the the lunkers?

SPEAKER_04

Better than the lunkers.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah. Maybe not as rewarding from some people's perspective because it's just kind of self-contained. It's cause like you're getting these pearls currency, and you spend the pearls to upgrade your diving suit or your air tank to give yourself benefits within the activity.

SPEAKER_03

And then apart from that, it's cosmetic stuff.

SPEAKER_04

Like you can get a full diving suit transmog. So you're not really going here for much power. The only power that you can kind of get out of it is it's a new place to get those the currency that you used to only be able to get from the abundance. Um that crafting reagent that you need to craft the like epic version of the crafting tools.

SPEAKER_00

Right. Which is it's funny you you mentioned the abundance because the lunkers, now that I look back on it, there was like that little element of kind of chaos to it with everybody like trying to nab the fish all at once. So that kind of reminds me of abundance, where you just get a bunch of people together in one place, just like nabbing all these resources, and it's a little bit chaotic and fun.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, so the f the fused vitality. They added this as another way to get that.

SPEAKER_00

Which makes sense. It's fishing, right? Right. Belongs in the crafting world.

SPEAKER_04

I even get like a letter in the mail from the rat king himself letting you know that you know there's this new source of abundance, and to go check out the fishing.

SPEAKER_00

I mean, of course he wants some fish. Oh, what a ratly feast.

SPEAKER_04

Is that smorgasborg, orgasborg, forgusborg?

SPEAKER_00

Indeed. Stinkier the better.

SPEAKER_04

So yeah, I think I think Abyss Anglers is is great. Just a little side thing, like no pressure to go, no life it or run the same thing eight times over. So like I said, I invested a couple hours the night it came back and then haven't gone back to it, but I will. It was a fun little side activity.

SPEAKER_03

I think great thing to add into a.5 patch.

SPEAKER_00

What else you've been busy doing, as long as we're talking about crafting. How's your crafting been going?

SPEAKER_04

Well, I finally got enough of the mythic crests to craft my main a mythic weapon. So that was nice. That's the earliest I've been able to do that. Um because in War Within, those gilded crests, the mythic ones, were going towards upgrading my gear because I wanted the mythic transmog appearance. And in this first season of Midnight, you don't need myth crests to upgrade your heroic gear to get the mythic transmog appearance. So those have just been sitting on my character for the last few weeks, and then on Tuesday, got enough to put that in. So weapon is checked off as as high as it will be able to be this season until they add the uh the nil hammer with decimus and let you use that to upgrade it another nine item levels. Uh, but that'll still be three more weeks out.

SPEAKER_00

Right.

SPEAKER_04

Got it fitted with you know, the good enchant with the good what are those even called?

SPEAKER_02

The like extra effect that are baked into the crafted. I don't remember what those are called. Hold on.

unknown

Yeah.

SPEAKER_04

You can only have like two of them, I think, on your character.

SPEAKER_01

Mm-hmm.

SPEAKER_04

At least that was the way it worked in War Within. So I got that baked in, I got my best stats baked in, and I got the enchant put on it. A nice decked out with a strong weapon that won't be replaced anytime soon.

SPEAKER_00

And then Did you did you have to kind of level up your specialties significantly? Did you like focus leveling up your specialties to specifically to craft your weapon?

SPEAKER_04

Yes. Yep. So one of my alts has inscription, uh, and I completely like focused him on going into making the staff and then also into making bows because they're in the same tree. But that is what he's specialized in.

SPEAKER_00

You're gonna make a bow for me?

SPEAKER_04

I am for sure. But that is what he's geared towards. Because that's what I used all of the profession system for the most in War Within, was just I had my inscriptor making everybody staffs, I had my engineer making you and him guns, and then I had my blacksmith making literally everybody else weapons. So I figured if that's how I engaged with it the most in War Within, it's probably gonna be the way that I engaged with the most in midnight, and just beelined to being able to do those things.

SPEAKER_00

And I'm probably horrifically late to the party, but I do find that the best way to kind of level up that specialty tree is to do the patron crafting orders like very frequently.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, I'm very relaxed on my crafting. Like I have not been just spending a lot of time trying to level it up, get the max number of points out of it. Yeah, I've definitely been going in like early in the week, just pick up the weekly quest for that the book that gives you like the three skill points, check what patron order is available, looking for the ones that have the orbs that give two skill points, or for the little like catch-up ones that only give one, getting in as many of those as I can and then forgetting it for another week.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_04

So I haven't, yeah. I'm definitely not like this master crafter who puts all this time into it.

SPEAKER_00

Well, right. We're not doing it to for gold profit, right? We're doing it for our own personal use and what we can craft for ourselves. So I think that makes a difference in how we engage with it.

SPEAKER_04

I was also pleased to see that the uh there wasn't a lot of inflation for the cost of a weapon in War Within versus in Midnight.

SPEAKER_00

Oh, good.

SPEAKER_04

Like getting my fully decked out staff at at this point, and maybe it's just because prices have come down since like all the hardcore raiders aren't buying them all up anymore. Yeah, it cost around 5k gold, all said and done, which was about what it cost in War Within. So that was nice to see as well that I, you know, you're not looking at shelling out tens of thousands of gold uh for those really nice weapons. And maybe you would be if you were finding somebody else to craft it. I don't know. But yeah, I just went to the auction house and bought gold versions of all the supplies that I needed and then shipped those to my alt and got the pentagold crafting and for about five five K. And then that will continue to pay dividends all throughout the expansion because each each new raid tier, each new season, I'll just send that back to him once I get all the methcrests that I need and get him to recraft it to the brand new thing.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, that sounds like fun. What else you got going on that you'd like to share?

SPEAKER_04

Well, literally right before the podcast, I got the second mount off of the rares in Eversong.

SPEAKER_00

Oh my gosh.

SPEAKER_04

So previously I had had the Dragonhawk drop, um, and now I got the purpley green hawk strider to drop. So I won't be farming rares and ever song to get my my bountiful coffer key shards, be moving on to another zone. Uh, because that's what I've been doing on most of my alts to get those key shards is just flying around looking for rares. Because now with the you know, upgraded Delverse Journey, they're each dropping 75 coffer keys.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, that's not bad.

SPEAKER_04

So then I go do, yeah, like what is that, 12 rares, and I've got my 600 that I need. No.

SPEAKER_00

I've I've been farming rares for the set appearance. Because I like the color that's associated with the rares. More of the the silver void look, which of course being an Illyria stand, I I have to have.

SPEAKER_02

Sorry, it used to be 12 rares. Now it's eight. Okay. Math is hard.

SPEAKER_00

So you you were really excited to tell us about an add-on that you told me I should totally download and I still haven't.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, well, and then you don't have to, because you said that you were still managed to be add-on free, where as I've definitely gotten some of the ones that you know provided a little bit of convenience, like the handy notes pointing out where all these rare spawns are, uh, so I don't have to remember them. But yeah, I was, you know, I've got quite a few alts up and running now. Got my six, eventually I'll have all 13, hopefully. Um, and I found myself like logging into each one individually to see, to double check where my vault progress was. You know, have I done all my tier 11 delves that I need to do for the week on all my characters? Or ooh, I just got a piece of warbound champion gear. Does anybody need this? And I like created an Excel file that you were making fun of me for having to kind of track that. I'm like, you know what? You're right. There's gotta be an add-on, there's gotta be something else that exists where I can see how my vaults are on all my characters without having to actually log on to each of my characters individually. And sure enough, there was. There's a few that do it. I went with one of the more targeted ones where this is kind of the thing that it does versus a more wide-ranging add-on that could do lots of other things as well. Like, because this is this is the one thing I wanted it to do. I don't need it to do everything. And so it's called Alt Vault. And you just log into your characters and then they start populating in this thing, and they're all there for you to see. You can see their progress in their great vault, you know, how many uh activities they've done, and what the item level of each slot that they've unlocked is. Uh also shows their equipped gear, but that's not what I was directly going for, but it was something else. I was tracking. So now I don't have to log on to them or maintain a spreadsheet. I can just look at this and see, oh, do any of my characters that wear plate need some shoulders? And they're just right there to mouse over.

SPEAKER_00

That's because you've got too many kids. I mean alts.

SPEAKER_04

No, I have exactly the right amount. I have one of each, one of each class. So I can experience all the fun. So yeah, show you.

SPEAKER_00

You should have your own show of 13 alts and counting.

SPEAKER_04

Hashtag not sponsored, but shout out to Alt Vault. It's a great add-on. Does exactly what I need, and I love that it exists.

SPEAKER_00

Very nice. So was it last week we talked about the nothing burger that was the end of the Heronier artifact kind of questline?

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, where it was it building up to this giant surprise. And then I got there and I was like, I am not surprised. I feel like I knew all of this.

SPEAKER_00

Well, okay, you do have a tendency to guess the twists before they happen, right? It might might be a narrow spicy thing where we tend to pick up on some of those clues more earlier, and we just like you know, skip ahead to guess the ending. But we did pick up on a small tiny little tidbit in the Gulf of Memory Delve that we feel is worth talking about. So we were doing the story that has the memories of the old gods.

SPEAKER_04

Well, descent of the hair and ear. So you're going back and viewing the memory of when they had left their home in Hydrol and were coming down into the earth to try to find, you know, this voice that they heard and find this new home. So it's you know, you're going through there, you're fighting cobalt, you're fighting Nerubians.

SPEAKER_00

Yes.

SPEAKER_04

Eventually you're you're fighting old god minions, and then the final boss of it all is like one of these faceless one generals. And yeah, he he whispers you at the very beginning of the fight, she belongs to us. Despair and no oblivion. And you know, I've done this fight a few times, I've read that whisper more than once, and it just kind of always washed over me. But yeah, in the context of last week, where at the end of it they say that some outside power, not of Azeroth, came and took Almara away out of the cradle. And I was initially just like, well, yeah, the Titans. They took her and they put her in the you know, the core way, and they put her in their little Titan box to do whatever like nefarious Titan things they want to do with her. So that kind of shouted out to me. I'm like, wait a minute, these guys say she belongs to us. And so, in the context of doing a haironir thing, like at this time the haironir were actively looking for Alhara. Like maybe they didn't know that that's what they were hearing and that's what they were searching for, but they're looking for Alhara, which seems to be Azeroth, the squirrel soul. And so it seems like that's the she that this old god general would be talking about to the Haronir that are looking for her.

SPEAKER_03

Like I can't think of any other shis that the void might have that they would be super concerned or interested in at this point. So, yeah, maybe the old gods were the ones that took Almara out of the cradle and did some bad stuff.

SPEAKER_04

Would kind of make sense why, you know, sh that caused her to have all these terrors and nightmares. Like, I mean the Titans are very intimidating, and they're hints that like they're not, you know, don't have the best bedside manner and might not have everybody's best interests in heart, but like the void is actually terrifying.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. The rift of all crap, I got grabbed by a tentacle.

SPEAKER_04

Right, and then the rift of all in the emerald dream being associated with the old gods. So yeah, maybe there are some things that point to it making more sense that actually it was the void that ripped Alnhara out of her cradle. And then so that begs the question: well, do the Titans have the world soul? Did they like steal that from the void? We know there was this big war with the void, and we just kind of always thought, oh, they're here, the void is here corrupting Azeroth. We didn't really have a concrete idea of what that meant. But if the void had gone and stolen the world soul out of its cradle and like took it someplace else and was doing something not great to it, like, yeah, that would definitely motivate the Titans to start a big war over the world soul.

SPEAKER_00

I mean, they they all want the world soul, right? They're all very possessive of it.

SPEAKER_04

Right, but a war over the world soul in a more literal sense than like a figure, like in the sense that the void actually has it.

unknown

Yeah.

SPEAKER_04

We took it, it's ours, we moved it to our base, we're gonna be.

SPEAKER_00

They're playing capture the flag with the world soul.

SPEAKER_04

Right. And so that was that was interesting that maybe those dots fit together in a more pleasing way than just the titans showed up and ripped the world soul out of its cradle.

SPEAKER_00

But I think it it is really interesting, like the possessiveness of it, because when we heard about world souls from the point of view of the titans, in the you know, the anthology that was kind of the history of the universe, it was world souls become titans, they are baby titans, they are ours.

SPEAKER_04

It's how we make new titans, and then we kind of learned that that might not technically be the case, it might be that a world soul just becomes whatever force is most influential on it because obviously the old gods are trying to exert void influence over the world soul, and we knew that titans could be corrupted, well, that baby titans could be corrupted to the void to an extent that they became a void titan, right? That's what Sargeris was so concerned about, why he decided to make this burning crusade to stop a void titan from ever being created. But then it's actually not a void titan, it would just be a void world soul, right?

SPEAKER_00

Or a death world soul, right? We did that to break the arbiter. That was the whole plot of the jailer.

SPEAKER_04

I'm yeah, Argus was still a grown-up titan, though, that wasn't like a completely death version of a world soul, it was a world soul that had been birthed as an order being, as a titan, and then tortured by fell for a long time, and then infused with a bunch of death magic secretly. Um, to the point where it when it died, its soul was recognized as something that should go to the realm of death. So not quite the same thing, but yeah, definitely showing that that even after they grow into whatever their final form is, like there's still these beings that can be receptive and imbued with all of these different powers.

SPEAKER_00

But just like the very much like we want her, so she's ours. Like our three-year-old can tell you that's how it works. I want it, therefore it is mine, and it always has been mine, and it always will be mine.

SPEAKER_04

Great. My dragon. No, that's your sister's dragon. No, my dragon.

SPEAKER_00

I mean, right now it's purple unicorn kitty. It's my unicorn kitty. No, it's it has never been. It's not yours.

SPEAKER_03

What oh gosh, what was that?

SPEAKER_02

But I wanted.

SPEAKER_00

Oh yes.

SPEAKER_04

Like, no, you don't understand. I want it.

SPEAKER_00

Yep. Ver very much the same energy. So Oh, that was fun. But yeah, so just l a little lore clue that we picked up in Golf of Memory that we thought was interesting. Does the world soul actually belong to the void this time? Maybe. I guess time will tell.

SPEAKER_04

I mean, it it would be very interesting if to me anyway, if Zalotath was there and somehow involved with all of that happening. Like the whole capture the world soul.

SPEAKER_00

Mind now back and forth.

SPEAKER_04

Right, because she she betrayed the Black Empire. But we don't really know what that betrayal was about, what she did and what motivated it. We know that she got caught out and that she was punished and put in little bitty living space forever to go be the genie of the dagger and whisper in people's ears and grant them all the power they could ever wish for. But we don't specifically know why that happened.

SPEAKER_00

Right.

SPEAKER_04

So yeah, I think it would be quite interesting if she was involved with this, and this is what got her put in night naughty time out for millennia.

SPEAKER_00

Do you think she'll be in the next patch? Because I mean, we've seen, you know, like when we went to Underworld, right? It was very much like Salitas shows up because she corrupted yet another leader of a race to like mend to her will. So she's got in the the Rubians, the goblins, she got the ethereals, the ethereals. So is this gonna be like, oh hey, here's another person that's dissatisfied with the way things are going. You know, can I bend them to my will somehow? Or are we just gonna ignore what's down the deep dark hole and just like go play straight up troll politics for a patch?

SPEAKER_04

I would much rather just play troll politics or like exploring other voidy bad stuff that's like happening in troll land, or hey, there's this hidden island that we haven't been to in a long time, and then something broke, and now we can go to it kind of like Miss of Pandaria Island.

SPEAKER_00

Oh the Dragon Isles, right?

SPEAKER_04

I'd be much happier than that. Than oh hi, Zooljan. You look very dissatisfied at all the way that things are going. I can help you there.

SPEAKER_00

Mm-hmm. You're just over that kind of subplot.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, I and I just don't want that to be what happens with Zooljan and Zuljara. Like, oh no, someone was corrupted again.

SPEAKER_01

Mm-hmm.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, I think I could I think I'd be happy taking a break with it. Like, I'm not gonna be automatically sad if Zalatoth shows up and is involved.

SPEAKER_00

Just yeah, very much specifically upset or not upset, but just over yeah, the whole do you think it would be fun to have a troll reunion in the same way that we had an elf reunion? Would people be as mad about it, or would it be kind of cool?

SPEAKER_04

So I I don't know if people would be mad about it. I'm not sure exactly how they would do it though, because the trolls have kind of unified already.

SPEAKER_01

Mm-hmm.

SPEAKER_04

And then we had a mini troll unification as part of the leveling experience. Like all the disparate tribes of Zulaman, they were still part of a family. Like it wasn't like the Raven Tusk had left and weren't part of the group anymore. But they all did have their own problems that they were focusing on to where they couldn't work together as a whole. And through the leveling process, we kind of fixed all those.

SPEAKER_00

Oh no, I'm talking about like a greater Yeah, no, I know.

SPEAKER_04

So but I'm I'm saying so we did this mini unification kind of during the leveling process. And then the greater troll tribes have already kind of unified. Like they never explicitly deunified, I didn't think. They've always kind of had fealty of one form or another to the Zandalari.

SPEAKER_00

Right, as they're I just love Talon B. I just want her to show up.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah. I mean, yeah, the trolls definitely could hey, we heard that our brothers were having problems. Like, let's go help them out. And then, like, the greater troll here comes the whole troll army, greater troll army sailing in on those beautiful Zandalari ships. So they've rebuilt their navy in the intervening years since it got kind of destroyed in BFA.

SPEAKER_00

With a big swell of orchestral, but like very good drum beats coming in. So it'd be like the like the moment when the dragon is open up, but it's all troll themed, that would be really exciting.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, so I'd I think that would be cool as far as like specifically reunifying. I don't understand the context for that. But I'm I'm down for them just showing up. If they just show up to help out, that's great.

SPEAKER_00

We had a little party at the end of like the Zulamon questing main quest line, and it was kind of lame, and it was kind of a downer. I want a full blown troll cave rave, uh like the Matrix 2 with the drums and then like the sweaty dancing, and like that's what I want to see.

SPEAKER_04

I mean, there has been an emphasis on troll dancing, yes, there were like entire quest lines that like mini quest lines, side quests that like focused on hey, we gotta teach this kid how to dance. No, look, you can do it for real.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, let's do like a huge troll cave rave, and then just like the the matrix machines like kind of like busted in and crashed the party, like you could have like void monsters like boom coming in the wall, like the Kool-Aid man, and be this whole thing. And I know it's a little late if they haven't already done that to put that in, but I just think it would be really good.

SPEAKER_02

I side tension.

SPEAKER_04

I feel like I remember in in Chronicle, you know, very old kind of stuff with tear fighting like this very big old god general, like one of the cathraxy.

SPEAKER_03

Didn't they bury him in the troll lands?

SPEAKER_00

Hmm. Write that down, we'll investigate, and we'll uh come back with the answer next week.

SPEAKER_04

There there was a moment in the uh while doing the void assaults that these these other band of Ethereals shows up and one of them says, You waste the power beneath this land. And that's immediately where my mind went. That there might be and may I I might be misremembering it. Yeah, but that there's this old god power underneath it that they're looking to get. But then it ended up being they were talking about the ley lines.

SPEAKER_00

But put a pin in it. We'll uh we'll come back to that. I think a good place to end is cave rave. Which is the opposite of like cozy, but I I b I just think the trolls deserve something really exciting.

SPEAKER_04

See, you say cave rave with drums, and all I think of is the celebration music from episode one.

SPEAKER_00

True. Or at the end of episode six, right? That's another good one with the ewoks. The ewoks put on a good a good musical accompaniment. Something joyous and a little bit like high energy. Cause it's all because it's always stand around and talk, right? Because we gotta and it I think that would just be really, really cool to finish up a questline, and everybody's just like vibes, just just go with the vibes, we don't need to talk about it, it's done.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, I mean we've seen a couple of quest lines in with parties. The one that immediately comes to my mind is at the monastery uh in Pandaria where you're doing like all your training and helping out around it, and then it ends with like a big feast and you getting blackout drunk and like the screen fades and you wake up somewhere else.

SPEAKER_00

Okay, yeah, that was the pandas. Obviously, they're just eating, right? That that makes sense. That makes sense. They're eating and drinking. I want dancing. I want to dance.

SPEAKER_04

Pandas can dance. Have you seen them? They got some moves.

SPEAKER_00

But they're too busy eating.

SPEAKER_03

You okay.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. Anywho, we'll we'll we'll come back to that next week. Talking more about the trolls and what we think might be coming in the next patch. But I think for tonight that'll do us. So here at the Delvers Inn, I'm Sinaila.

SPEAKER_04

And I've been Zumanaki.

SPEAKER_00

And we hope to see you again soon. Bye.

SPEAKER_02

Check in again soon.

SPEAKER_04

Thank you for your visit. Until next time. Sunwell's glory shine on you.

SPEAKER_01

May the eternal sun guide you.

SPEAKER_04

Come again soon.

SPEAKER_02

May the dead bring you out. Next one is on me. Don't do anything I would do. Rest well.

SPEAKER_01

Rest well. Stay warm. Traveling stuff like stay triple. Travel safe. Safe travel.

SPEAKER_03

Fair well. Fair well. Fair well.
