Why did what is that noise?
SPEAKER_01Well, you know, it's um yeah, I f I feel like Aynes doing show tunes is a step too far.
SPEAKER_00Hey, look, I okay, I I liked musical. Can you get off my back about this? Like, Jesus.
SPEAKER_02Are you guys still here in Raid in my bar? I thought you guys went home.
SPEAKER_00You said we could come back whenever.
SPEAKER_01Was that not an open invitation? I thought I locked the door. There's no such thing as a locked door if you're determined enough.
SPEAKER_02Did you know somebody window to get in here?
SPEAKER_00Technically, no. No.
SPEAKER_02Alright. I hope you guys plan to pay for your drinks.
SPEAKER_00I'm having water. How much does that cost?
SPEAKER_02It's still another conversation. I still have more questions. You guys left before I can finish them all.
SPEAKER_00Technically, I didn't break the window. The rock did.
SPEAKER_02It's fine. I'll have contractors coming in a few weeks. I'll just add it on to the bill. I have to fix two holes in the wall anyway.
SPEAKER_00Ah, I was wondering what that was about.
SPEAKER_02Tune in to episode one of our tavern talks to find out.
SPEAKER_00Been a really weird design choice, if not. Yeah.
SPEAKER_02Now, out of curiosity while you guys are enjoying my uh drinks over here, I I see Richie, you got another slime cocktail. Did you squeeze the slime yourself?
SPEAKER_01I said it was he found out on the camera.
SPEAKER_00I didn't make this.
SPEAKER_02For the both of you, who has been your favorite character to voice for and write for? They can be the same or different. Good. Good.
SPEAKER_00Tony, you go first.
SPEAKER_01Oh, that's a tough one. Um I think the uh character that I've enjoyed the most uh voicing for um funnily enough is not actually a uh fat dog project. It's um uh I voiced Natsu Dragneal for the Das Tales fairy tale. And um I I enjoyed voicing for him mainly because most of my roles I don't have much combat. And so that that was a lot of fun getting to do uh um, you know, various uh combat uh scenarios, and it really kind of pushed me uh to improve my uh my voiceover or my voice acting in in that respect. But um in regards to characters I enjoy writing for I you know I I gotta give it to um Rafftalia. I I really enjoy writing for Raphtalia. She's uh um you know, she she's a country bumpkin in kind of thrust into the the world of uh you know noble politics and you know with a background of just being uh you know effectively a serf in in medieval times, and now she's dealing with uh, you know, fucking shithead nobles and the goddamn Pope, and uh also with modern day vernacular. So it's it's uh fun writing for her in the sense that you know she's trying to learn modern day slang and sort of find her place in the world.
SPEAKER_00Um similarly, I'm gonna have to go with Fairy Tale Abridged as well. I uh I voiced Jalal and um I'm sensing a motif here because I uh I was the Joker in that series. Like that that Jalal was a Mark Hamill-style joker, and I got to really flex my uh my improv skills and had a lot of fun because for uh a good portion of some of the episodes that I was in, like I just got to wing it and make shit up. They gave me a general idea as to what uh certain uh scenarios were, like where they wanted the dialogue to go and just let me kind of freely go. I mean, the final episode they were like, we want you to stick more to the script this time. But I got to have fun, and it was really funny treating Urza as if she was like a a reverse gender Batman. So, like, so the Joker's the Joker's obsession with Batman, but with sexual tension built on top of it. Like so silly, so funny. Um now, as for character that I find easiest to write for or uh can relate to the most, it's actually gonna surprise a lot of people. Shiro. Like Shiro is like such a character that I relate to because he's like thrown into these situations where everything is happening outside of his control, and he just wants to try and rein it in and bring like some daggem order to this chaos, but also at the same time, you know, he's a snarky little shit and he doesn't realize half of it is his own fault. Um it's just a lot of fun to write for because he's just kind of he feels like kind of a dude that's stuck in this situation and has to be the voice of reason. I jokingly refer to Shiro as the voice of the audience a lot of the time because he's like, what the what why why is this this way? And so somebody else has to explain it. And uh and then yeah, so he's kind of like the voice of the audience, you know. He asks he asks the questions, who, what, when, where, how, and why. You know. I do like that about his character. Yeah, when things get when things get out of control, he tries to drag him back. So when like your quote unquote morally correct skeleton starts heading towards that genocide you were talking about, you start screaming no. And it's like, dude, you programmed it. This is your fault. Like, um but yeah.
SPEAKER_02No, I am curious about some of Shield Hero. Hmm. Would Philo be able to talk to the SHIELD in the near future?
SPEAKER_01She already speaks with the shield.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, she already does. Check episode four. I am forgetting about that, you're right. Because I was curious how far that was gonna go.
SPEAKER_01So, uh as it as it is right now, anyone who is in Now Fumi's party can communicate with the shield.
SPEAKER_02Okay, so we can expect future members of the party to eventually be able to communicate as well.
SPEAKER_01Uh, yeah. Yeah. Um, whether or not we're going to have that extend to people outside the party is still something that we've been kind of openly discussing in our group. It's um we're not we're not really sure uh how far we want to take it. It's kind of uh it's fluid.
SPEAKER_02Okay. Now, more in regards to some of the shield character, I know in the original story we're gonna have basically the other side heroes. Would there be one of those extra uh one of those other heroes, would they come with a sentient shield-like character as well? Will there be a counterpart?
SPEAKER_01So that that is something that we have kicked around a lot, and at this time we don't have plans for uh anyone else to have a sentient weapon or or you know blocking device. Um no, at this time we don't have any plans for that. Um we did kick around the idea of of Raftalia potentially having a sentient weapon, but uh we decided against it. We we are we are gonna you know play around with that idea, but it's yeah it's not something that's gonna be like a full-on thing, like with the shield. Um and and that is so and there's a reason behind that. And so it's in canon, right, the the spirits of the weapons, if you will, they take into account what their wielders wanted most. And in our version, Nalphamy has soul crushing loneliness. You know, that uh that line when the shield first started talking to him, oh well, at least there's no more soul crushing loneliness. So, you know, there's that. That ends up being a much deeper line than what is initially, you know, like at first glance, you just think, oh, okay, yeah, no. I mean, hey, that haha, funny. No, that that is um at the time of of this interview, uh the reason why the shield manifested.
SPEAKER_02Okay. That I mean, that makes sense to me. Um, and it feels uh very uh interesting that the shield's gonna be more or less a one-of-a-kind. Uh I wasn't sure if you guys were gonna do something with like uh the scythe hero or even uh glass and the fans.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, well, um, no, I mean we we definitely have some ideas, um, specifically with glass, given that she's gonna be showing up here either in episode six or seven. So she she is someone that I'm very much looking forward to casting for.
SPEAKER_00If we do if we do not make a joke, if we do not make a joke where she looks at somebody and goes, what are you staring at? He says, I'm just admiring the glass.
SPEAKER_01So we we have something happening in episode six or seven, I'm not sure which. It depends when glass shows up. Um with uh between glass and raftala that people are either going to hate or love. There will be no in-between.
SPEAKER_00Hmm. Okay. You gotta stop staring at her glass.
SPEAKER_02Well, I do have one final question for you guys before I'm gonna have to kick you out, because it is well past 3 a.m. now. Um, you brought up a gross marshmallows last time we were talking. Yeah. Do you guys care to elaborate on that?
SPEAKER_00Well, it it's partially a surprise, uh, partially not. Uh so like we said before, we're uh working on Overlord Abridged episode two or chapter two. And we this the surprise was mostly on us. It cost way more to put out Overlord than we thought it would. And yeah, so we can't we're not gonna be able to fund it off of our Patreon funds alone, and so we had to make an indie go.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, without compromising the other um three, because we we have what we have a lot of uh parodies, but only three are funded solo leveling, slime, and shield hero. Everything else is done for the love of the game.
SPEAKER_00And if we did if we did Overlord, we would not be able to put out anything this year, like because we wouldn't be able to fund those projects. So everything would grind to a halt.
SPEAKER_02Is there a way to save this?
SPEAKER_00Yeah, yeah, there absolutely is. That so we decided to do uh outsourcing, crowdfunding. So we have uh an Indiegogo that we have set up uh specifically to raise funds for not only Overlord but the uh newly announced Tanya the Evil Abridged. So uh both of those are the things that we are set up to do, and we've got uh different goals that we're hoping to reach. We're also for those who wish to opt into it, and they can choose whether they want to opt in. So I want to state this right now be careful what name you choose to put down for the crowdfunding campaign, because if you opt in, we are putting that name in the credits as one of our backers if you choose to opt in. Now, some people just opt out, or you can donate anonymously, and that's fine. You don't have to remember the anonymous vote is under the devotee to the richie religion. No, it is not.
SPEAKER_02Yes, it is. Make sure you fill that out.
SPEAKER_00How dare. Anyway, so we have we have a bunch of different goals set up. So at 750, uh, we get uh we will do a uh a live cold read of episode two when this script is ready. We'll do uh a live cold read with some of the cast. Um at 1500, that means that Overlord 2 has been funded. Yep. Uh so we can we can do that project, and it officially means that production can begin. At two at $2,250, Tanya the Evil, we will do a cold read of that script. And uh at $3k, we can do uh the uh fully funded Tanya the Evil Abridged. Now, of course, Overlord is the priority, that's why it is the lower number. It costs around $1,500 for each of these projects, guys. And we're lowballing it there. Now, next up, we do have another further stretch goal. So at $3,500, we'll do an overlord short episode, so like a 1.5 type of deal. So it won't be much, it'll be just like a little short, silly thing. And then uh at 4k, we have a behind the scenes of overlord episode 2 being made, narrated by Aynes and Shiro. So those two silly bitches narrating a behind-the-scenes event. That will be fun. Then, yes, then at 4500, we would get uh Tanya the Abridged uh behind the scenes narrated, probably by Tanya and being X, which would be hilarious. Now we do have a few more stretch goals after that, but I want to keep those a surprise for now. Just just just know that we've got all goals all the way up to 6k, and uh if we reach those funds, which we're not expecting, but again, we we have done this time after time where we've set goals and then they've just been immediately smashed, and we're like, yeah, they get smashed. So we're like, we're not trying to be greedy, we're just trying to set our expectations, and yeah, um, but yeah, the guys understand the more that we make, the more income that we make, the more that we can do with these projects. So your help is greatly appreciated. But just know that at 5k 55 uh 5500, and at 6k, we do still have stretch goals. Uh and uh yeah, that's I'll I'll leave you guys with some of that. But uh for the most part, yeah. Like I said, the amount that we make on Patreon every month still would not be able to cover these projects without us having to stop doing all the other projects that we're working on right now. And you guys have to understand the log horizon stuff that we were talking about uh previously, uh the um the patch updates or whatever you want to call them, those are a passion project. We wouldn't get paid for that.
SPEAKER_01That's that's literally literally everything outside everything not covered in the the uh the Gafunmi or the Indiegogo, wherever. Um the only three projects that have a budget are Shield Hero, Slime, and uh Solo Leveling. I must said Log Horizon. No, solo leveling, solo leveling. Solo leveling, shield, and slime. Those are the only three projects that that have a budget. Everything else is done for the love of the game.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. And I can I can state like by the time by the time that you're hearing this, guys, slime 10 is out, and probably shield 5, honestly. And uh I can but I can also happily report that uh solo leveling episode three right now, that you're right now at the time that you're hearing this, has already begun video and possibly audio edits by now. So yeah, things are moving.
SPEAKER_02I can't wait. And guys, please go show fat dog some love. These guys work hard. I personally think that the content that they make is phenomenal, they keep good story consistency. Go help them, they're constantly fighting copyright. We learned what it takes to become a voice actor in the last couple hours. There's a lot of behind-the-scenes work that goes into just making the projects that you guys see hit your uh YouTube feeds, and even then, there's still a fight against the algorithm. Show them some also.
SPEAKER_00Uh one last thing, one last thing. If anyone listening wants to react to our content, obviously you have our permission, go for it. Uh, if you have any copyright issues whatsoever, please reach out to us. We are happy to help you guys uh mitigate the copyright nonsense. We try to do this for anyone that we see that is reacting to our content. We've had other people that have reacted to us that have said that you know they wanted to put stuff up, but they were fighting copyright, and we're like, hey, we'll we'll happily do it. If you want to re-upload it, we will help you with fighting the copyright so you can get it up on your channel. Yep.
SPEAKER_01Um you'll be working directly with me on that one. Um, also be sure to mention us in like the either the title or description so that we know you've done a reaction because with YouTube being YouTube, uh, we can no longer filter by upload date. So it's kind of hard to find that stuff.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. So yeah, please tag us in there. That would be greatly appreciated.
SPEAKER_02But I'll make sure I have all of the links uh down in the description for the different ways to go and support these guys. Um again, thank you so much for coming by my tavern and giving me your time. There's been a lot of fun information to get, and I'm excited for your guys' future.
SPEAKER_00Thank you for having us on.
SPEAKER_02So, one last time, do you guys mind giving us a little sign off with your names, the weather?
SPEAKER_00I'm Richie Robertson, and I'm finally back home in the cool hills. Oh my goodness.
SPEAKER_01I'm Tony, and uh, I think a trout just landed on my front yard.
SPEAKER_00Ah, my my my bad, my bad. That was Minute for Shiro.
SPEAKER_02And I am Danny with our tavern talks, and from another chilly cold Arizona night, that is a chow.
