Sorry for the last two weeks of no episodes, but honestly, I'm not even trying to plan anything big today. I swear to god, it's been two weeks since I've been here last because uh like I I've been trying, I've been talking to my friend Cisco Ramon, trying to vibe you to figure out what's going on because you're apparently your pocket dimension has been closed for a while, and I've been getting worried. So luckily you just told me that you're open. I had him me breach, had me uh breach over here. I'm here to have a good drink with you, have a good chat, everything like that. Just hopefully, uh luckily I came from an earth that there's like they allow breaches because on Earth 19, like I've been there dangerously. Um they they don't authorize there is no unauthorized breaching in this uh bounty hunter called called gypsy might be after me, so not not that I don't love the bit, Adam, but um one, I don't think I get many of the references, but two, isn't that your blue tent outside?

Well, I I'm I'm I'm wrapping up my LOA. I've been watching a whole bunch of stuff, playing some computer games and stuff, and I'm just ready to talk about what I've been doing.

Oh, that's fair. Doing some recommendations. So let me ask you, obviously, you've been enthralled in the Flash for a little bit. Why are you so enthralled in Flash? Why why are you enjoying it?

Well, you know, I actually remember you doing a uh a recording on like uh sometime back on like nostalgia and um DC versus Marvel, and where you saw that like where DC movies uh there might be some good fan base that people like, and I'm not trying to upset them or anything like that, kind of fail, but where DC fails in the movies, except for the animated movies, for some odd reason.

But I where they where DC shows really like really, really uh do well are the animated series, the live action series, well except for one that didn't really I don't think got really a chance. I don't know the background of it, but like for the most part, a lot of the live-action TV series of of DC have done really well in the past, and the one that most people are more familiar with is a flash. I mean, a good classic um uh DC hero. I know you got Superman, Batman, Aquaman, the Green Arrow, Martian Manhunter. Wow, I do I way no way more DC heroes than I should.

I'm not gonna lie, because I think you're even leading into I think you're leading into a point that I stand on when I think about like the difference between DC and Marvel. Because Marvel they do really well at humanizing a lot of their heroes, right? Like they're very human heroes, they just have these powers. DC has always been kind of like these are the gods of superheroes. Like you brought up Superman, who is like the man of man, he can do anything, especially post-1970. He could sneeze and erase a universe if he wanted.

Um, oh yeah, yeah. I think we did the super how over uh super or overpowered done right and wrong. And the last time was here, I botch that one. So I want to redo, so I uh yeah. You have Batman super thing.

You got Batman who, yeah, he is a human and all rights, but the amount of money he has is on lines with like Jeff Bezos or uh Elon Musk. Tony Stark. So like it's hard to really feel the humanity in a lot of these heroes because they're just so vastly different. It's almost like they're playing human. The flash, yes, his powers are godly. I'm not gonna sit here and be like, oh, they're not too much different. But one thing I appreciate with the flash.

Oh my god. Well, real quick, with the flash, the reason I love him so much as a hero, uh very similar in some ways to uh some of the Green Lanterns, they are so humanizing to the point that it's like they can come to understand some of their enemies. The Flash is the best one at that. He will know his enemies on first name basis, understand. Like, I think uh I think in some of our editions a trickster is on medicine, right? Like to help him keep his urges in check. And he will meet him up and be like, hey man, you're you're off your meds again. Like, what's going on? Oh, I I'm wearing the costume again. Yeah, you are. And did I hurt people? You you may have hurt a few people. I'm sorry, Barry. Like, and it's like it's one of those things with like the flash, and they do it so well in the CWT, because he really does get to know his villains.

Yes, that's like the the one thing I love about like where I've been is in I can't wait to jump into uh Legends of Tomorrow, but my one of my favorite all-time characters right now, because the way that like the way he went from like okay, I'm a bad guy, but slowly with working with fighting or working with the flash or something like he's turned himself around enough to be a hero in League of Uh Legends of Tomorrow, and that is Captain Cold. Man, do I love the actor who like the guy who like brings Captain Cold to life on the CW Flash. And my favorite quote, and I think I'm going to play this to real life, and it's kind of a Walmart kind of thing, too, or any other one. Like, make the plan, execute the plan, expect the plan to go off the rails, throw the way the plan, throw away the plan. Best line see ever. Yeah. Okay, there might be more, but that one's good. I love that line.

But yeah, I I totally agree with you with the flash. Um yeah, because there's so many times that like when you when you contrast Oliver or um uh the green arrow, um Oliver to Barry Allen, it's like green arrow, at least in Arrow, is mere is kind of almost like Batman. Like has this like really like like very angry all the time and brooding just like Batman. I mean, I know the backstory is like at least with the C with the um with the Arrowverse, it's like he was he was marooned on an island north China Sea for five years and had to survive that way. So I can understand, but I didn't I haven't gotten really into arrows much, but I a recent episode I just watched with another crossover episode that they did with like it was Supergirl, The Flash, Arrow, um Otherworld, um Otherworlds anyway, it's the one where they switch bodies or at least switch powers and everything like that.

Yeah, Oliver Queen understands like holy shit, Barry, you're dealing with a lot. I use I usually think as you're like, you're always this fun guy that's always quippy and and and stuff, but you're dealing with a lot, and the fact that you can do your job with such like cheer is just so great about that. And then then you see Barry Allen have to take Oliver Queen's personality to do his job because like if if Barry Allen if Oliver Queen acts like Oliver Queen with Barry with the flash's power, like it you can't do it. Like you have to be in sync with a lot of stuff when you're being a speedster, at least what I came to understand with the episode versus like you don't have to be Yeah, you have to be uh like ninjas, archery, yes, right, but with with the powers like with powers of Superman and Supergirl and with powers like the Flash, you have to like you cannot let your emotions like you can't go dark, like, or it will control you and it will just change it it it changes how they they portray their characters and but yet the fact that Barry Allen Flash is able to like at least in the CW version, like always like and I've seen in even in the in the animated series, like he's always this happy go like kinda happy go lucky guy, but beyond that from watching it's like he's seen people die like right in front of him. He's experienced, at least in that one, like oh, he saw the uh a vision from when he accidentally went to the future uh a night that he sees his wife die under one of the villains that they're fighting for that season. Like, holy crap. Uh yeah, Barry Allen has gotten through a lot.

Well, I can get why the show's anthropology so much, too. Because again, the flash as a base point is a great character to do a series on. Um, I think from what I've seen in the CW, eventually I want to go back and watch the whole series, but from what I've seen in the CW Flash, it was very fun, it was so comic lore accurate. Uh I've seen different clips of some of the finale fights too, and the way that they end some of those villains, I adore. I will say, talking about crossovers with Arrow though, real quick, especially in the power swap episode, right? One of the things I loved the best in the crossover, and I thought they did really well, was in the first crossover, I believe, with Arrow and Flash. There is a train in thing where they're both trying to see, like, okay, what they can do, how will they do it. And Green Arrow is like, All right, I'm gonna shoot this arrow at you, and I'm gonna hit you. And the flash is like, You're gonna hit me. I'm faster than everything, right? And sure enough.

We're talking about like the first scene in which they're actually like because Barry is like all over all like not aware of his surroundings, and yep, uh and Oliver Queen is trying to like, hey, you you need to take this seriously. You have the time, you have you have the speed, but you uh you lack awareness of your surroundings.

So 100%. What ends up happening is Barry gets shot in the back by some planted crossbows that he wasn't prepared for. So Oliver did shoot him. Now, in the power swap episode, I think it is a bit of karmic justice that Barry does the same thing to him, and Oliver is like, oh, he recognizes it's the same trap. Like, where are the plant? Oh, don't worry about that, don't worry about that. Falls for the same thing, didn't take his own advice.

But with this one, that actually proves the point that I was saying. Like Barry Allen went before that scene, like Oliver Queen did that for reason. Oliver Queen did that so that he could prove to Barry like you are not aware of your surroundings, and if you're not aware of your surrounding, that could get you killed. And when Barry did it, Barry did it as like a payback would piss Oliver Queen off in that particular episode. Yeah, I just watched it today. I watched that just watched that episode today. That's why it's so fresh on my mind.

Speaking of things that I just watched today, I've got one for ya. I stepped up and I started to watch Doctor Stone season three. Now I've seen Doctor Stone season one and two.

Okay, but you know the basis idea of what Doctor Stone is. It's yeah, the whole world got petrified. Uh Senku broke out of the uh of his petrification, and he wants to rebuild humanity. Now, through season one and season two, we deal with that. We deal with the aspects of like some low-scale war, this and that. And I do apologize. I'm gonna spoil a little bit for you in the sake of talking about what I want to talk about. No, you're good, dude.

Season three has been such a fun watch. I'm on about the second to last, if not the last, episode right now of season three. And the whole idea is they are gonna set uh they're gonna build a ship and they're gonna go across the world because they want to find the source of the petrification.

I thought he was gonna turn against the group. But yeah, he's become very endearing. Even his butler, I love the butler, Francois.

Yeah, and I think Netflix got it a little bit ago. I've I've held off. I watched season one and two when it came out, and I'm like, okay, well, I'll come back to this when there's some more story. I know there's more story now, so that's why I started settling in. And my god, has it been fun? I think there's another season on Crunchyroll that's gonna deal with the after effects of season three because I have seen YouTube shorts of the whole team being petrified. And I think it is Suika, the little girl who is left alone to make revival fluid for them.

From some of the spoilers I've seen on YouTube, uh she spends, I think, seven years just to revive Senku. So there's a time skip that I still haven't hit yet. So I know there's more, I believe. I'll be looking for it on Crunchyroll. But like, I'm getting to that point because we've already found a petrification device. We already know, okay, there's a device. I know that there's an activation, there's a science to how this device works. However, we still haven't gotten further yet. At the point I'm at, the whole island that they're on, Treasure Island, just got petrified. Senku petrified the big bad, and him and Chrome. Yep, him and Chrome are working to unpetrify certain people in the right order for what they need. So I'll be finishing up season three today. My god though, like if you haven't checked out Doctor Stone, this is such a fun anime. There are a lot of cliches, so like if it's an anime cliche thing that puts you off, like, hey, be a little careful. But it's there's always so much fun.

Another aspect, too, that's fun, is if you've ever watched Full Metal uh Alchemist Brotherhood, the voice actor for Senku is Alphonse. So he really does the scientific like breakdown well because in full metal they do that well.

Yeah, I I will have to agree with you. Like what uh it's been a minute since I've walked Doctor Stone, but with remembering like the set first and second season, yeah, uh breaking down the science of what he's doing is done extremely well.

What's fun is too is the show's actually uh so well informed that not not everything one-to-one can actually be remade the way that they say it is, but a lot of things have been. Like you can go to YouTube and you can find people doing the Doctor Stone Cola recipe for how to make Coca-Cola. You can go on and find different recipes for the Doctor Stone inventions, and again, not all of them are gonna work 100% the way that he says they will. Um, some things are made for the story, of course, but they are still sound in principle. And that's something I appreciate about it. Like Rick and Morty, I appreciate for some of their science, but a lot of the times it really does come off as just like throwing out a bunch of numbers and digits that with Dr. Stone, it feels like, hey, this is something that's like if you do this right, you apply the right fundamentals, hypothetically, you will be able to hit this.

Now, I'm not gonna lie, I haven't only been watching Doctor Stone. I have a game for you, Adam. This one, you're okay. You're gonna need a powerful uh unit, either a PlayStation 5 or a high-end gaming PC to run.

Which I don't have either. I just have my simple Chromebook, which I've still been able to figure out how to play uh a free-to-play game, which I will tell you about later. I'm gonna listen to you because this sounds exciting.

So I recently with my upgraded PC, I have the ability now that I can run the game Claire Obscure 33. And I've been doing a pass and play with my family on this. This is a game that came out last year. It won multiple awards for its story, its music, a whole lot of things. Alright. It is turn-based in elements, but it's more akin to like the Mario and Luigi turn-based. So like you can still when you attack, you'll have like some action times you can do. So you can do more damage if you do things right. When an enemy attacks, you have the option to just outright dodge or try and parry. So it's not turn-based in, oh, you're standing still the whole time. You're still interacting and you can still effectively take no damage if you can time things right. The game is based in a world. I still don't know everything because I've only just gone to the end of Act 1, but from what I can tell you, it's based in a world that appears to have been at its end. The island of Lumiere was part of the main continent. It looks like it's supposed to be France, because we see an Eiffel Tower that's being distorted. Lumiere was picked up and placed down as an island. And across the ocean on the mainland, there's a monolith and it had a number. And there is a Pinterest. Every year she erases the number and she counts down. So it started at 100. She went to 99, 98. From my understanding so far. If your age is older than what the number says, you were gomoshed. Meaning it was effectively a Thanos snap. Once the number changed, uh in Expedition 33, the number changed from 34 to 33. Expedition 33, we saw a whole bunch of characters that just and they have a whole event. It's something that's normal, it's a ceremony at this point. Uh they turn into petals and dust. Uh it's like the Thanos. So the civilization we know in this game doesn't know what it is to be old. Because as far as we can tell, no one exists above the age of 33.

That is like the worst. Like I I sorry, I have watched many different shows and played many different games, and there are certain worlds I would not want to live in or try to survive in, or wouldn't survive at all. That one only being able to live to 33, I'd be dead by now.

By the time we're at 33, it seems like it might be more of a decision than not. Earlier it was probably more of a decision. Do we go to the mainland? Do we try and stop her from doing this? And we pave our way for people who come after. Uh by the time we're at 33, though, it's become, I could definitely say less of a voluntary, it's still voluntary that you do this, but less that people younger would be jump into the gun to do it normally. Uh because you commit your last life, your last year on Earth. Because next year you go mosh, you're gonna turn to dust.

And it is an intense one. Now, people who are younger can still do the expeditions, but a big one is uh as far as I know with the story uh out of every expedition.

Expedition zero, expedition one hundred uh is the only expedition to have had survivors make it back.

They're the only ones that brought back any information about what was going on in the mainland. So anything about Nevrons, anything that the people of the mainland know about the continent came from one expedition. The other 66 expeditions yearly, no one came back. They went wow, they laid a path. That's the path we're following right now, is what they've laid behind. So we're going to their flags to rest. We're using uh one of the expeditions was a mountain climbing expedition, so they put in like spokes and cliffs so that we could climb those cliffs. And again, I'm only at act one, I think, of three. And I still have to go back and level up a bit because I definitely pushed a lot of story. So, like me, my fiance, our roommate, we're gonna go back, we're gonna level up our characters a bit because where we're at, we we're not ready. But this story is enthralling. And the reason I recommend a good, a good either gaming console, so PlayStation 5, one of the newest Xboxes, or a high-end gaming PC is even with my upgrade that I got uh between these uh episode recordings. This new PC I got, I can only run the game on low graphics, and it still crashes because of how how much detail and honestly how pretty the game is, it does just crash, which is the only sad thing I have about the game so far. Though I am enthralled in this game. The party members are so cool, there's so many interesting questions to be had about this world. So, like Adam, if you ever get the chance, get your hands on this and play it. I highly recommend. I have a show and a game for you to uh to uh watch and one to like to try. One of the but uh so the the show I'm uh I watched recently uh during my LOA um is from The House of Mouse. And um The House of Mouse has dived into some animes before, and this one is no different, but it does put a Disney twist to this anime, and being that it it's called uh Twisted Wonderland. It's eight episodes long, so you could easily watch it in like four hours. Um, it brings out the seven like iconic villains uh Disney's past. You've got Malefinescent, you have uh Scar, you have the Evil Queen, you have the Queen of Hearts, uh Hades.

Anyway, you're you're and this and you're dealing with seven different and within this one it's like not to lie, it's an Izkai. I don't know why we cannot get away from doing Izikai's, but they're just done over much. That's a whole nother story. But this guy uh our main character um you see him in Tokyo, he tales all the time, he's part of the Kendo Club, and he I guess he like runs in the street, there's a black carriage, takes him away to an alternate universe. Seems to be a pattern with me. Anyway, nothing to do with the trucks, right? God this time. No trucks, no trucks. This time it was a carriage, no trucks, no vans, no white 10 person passenger vans this time. That's another story for another time. Um anyway, so you again he is taken to a magical school magical school and of course he doesn't have any and most of the the people have magic. Of course, he does not. So it's like, okay, well you can't like you can't really well you were brought here reason the the mirror on the wall brought you here for a reason because like you can't be in any of the seven houses are based upon the great oh Ursula's another one. Thank you. Uh of the seven great Disney villains. And when it comes to if the if the character was like any of the female characters have been gender swapped, so you the the person that's represented the Queen of Hearts is male, so on and so forth. You even have your other uh Disney villains in there, the lesser, kind of lesser one, like Gaston, later Tremaine, um and another one that I clock just in of course Gaston is the PE teacher. No figure on that one. That's just that's typical, but each one of them, at least this particular uh season, uh deals with uh uh house that is under Queen of Hearts. Really well done. Scar is amazing. The next season I think has to deal with the the house that has to deal with Scar with uh the Lion King. Uh the animation is great with this one. Uh and the actor who plays um the Queen of Hearts um is actually voiced by the guy who voices Frieza from Dragon Ball. And to hear him like holder heads roll, roll, or off with his head in in like Frieza, chef's kiss. The actor is can play a villain. Like that actor can play a villain, like I've heard snippets of like this is a great manifestation of golden frieza kind of thing. And it sounds when you hear that and you hear it's like all their heads roll roll. It just it was awesome. Like, because I've seen clips on that, and finally around and watched it. Uh he's joined by like a lot of times you have two um other freshmen that is is part of the house of hearts. I know it's a diff I know the name is different in the show, but I can't remember it.

Like the first thing is like, oh, if you want to stay the headmaster's like, hmm, well I can't have you like so he gets his own little chateau that's on the ground of the school, but the other the other houses you have to trans, you have to get to the because they're in the ultimate, they're not they're so far away from the school, you have to travel them to them by mirrors. No matter what he does. He may be the good guy, but like and it points Aladdin as the bad guy. But it's like no matter he wants to save his kingdom, everything. But no matter what he does, like well shit. Like, well, if they're like it if I run away to save my own life, then I'm considered a coward. Or if I stand up, they're going to see me as a villain. Fuck it, I might as well be a villain. Like I've got no choice in this matter, but it's like, but you see him as like this good guy, like actually caring to try to k like actually trying to save the kingdom instead of like taking uh or instead of taking it over, like seeing that like oh the sultan took his wife and then she died. I will do it really quickly. So lately I've been playing the sequel to Arknights, Arknight's um Endfield, which is really good. This gotcha game system. It's a it is a gotcha game system. Go don't get me wrong, but I haven't been really focusing on the gotcha part of it. I've been focusing on there's a good story, there's loads of missions. The one thing that I've been obsessed with it with is the factory part of it and crafting uh items to sell to make money. Oh boy, just there's so many things you can create, it's awesome. So many potions that you can sell, but um so it takes place about I want to say like 251 years after the events of Arknights. Um Ark Knights Enfield is available on PC, PS5, um mobile, both Android and um an Apple or iPhone, whatever it is called. I don't know. I don't deal with Apple, I prefer Android. That's a whole nother story. Um, but it's free to play, uh at least from those standpoint. I'm not sure about the PS5 if it's free to play on that one. The graphics are great. Uh it takes place about 250 years after the events of N of Enfield. Um it takes place on this world called Talos 2. And there the big bad annoying, but really well done. Like I at this point in the game, I I want to say I'm I'm basing up the big bag a second time. It's annoying because my people are not leveled up, which means I have to start like going around collecting stuff, collecting like stones and mushrooms and other stuff to level up my characters, to ascend them to level 90, which is the cap of it. Like the boss is only like level 70, but no matter how hard, like, oh, you need to beat the boss, and it's level 70. No, you need to be like one level. Like, it's okay to mid-max when in this game, too. Like, you have to mid-max all your skills, or then make sure you get you can craft your armor that you put you you can craft the uh your accessories and your armor that you put in on characters, you can level up the weapons.

So like like a six-star a six-star character would be like if other other gacha games would be like um like the SRs or the SSRs. And then like there's no character that's below a four-star. Uh with the weapons, same thing. There I haven't seen any weapons that are below a four-star. It's four or five, six star. Uh when it comes to the the crafting of the items for the armor, it just depends on it just depends on the material you're using. As you go up into the game, of course, you're going to need to get you have to craft, you have to make the material, like the the components to for the uh for the gear through your factories, why they're important. And I've been spending hours just trying to reconfigure my factory to be able to produce products so I can sell them and get the gear. And then I it's it's so fun. I was playing it on like um uh GeoForce on my computer that I found, and I upgraded to like oh, like I paid the yearly sub uh yearly subscription for like $200, like six hours a day. I did not realize there was a monthly limit, and I burned through it. Do you know what the monthly limit the hours you can play this game for gaming on this particular thing, and I burnt through them this quickly? Hundred hours. I have put almost nearly hundred hours in this game alone. And like the last like I don't know how humanly possible that was. But then again, I've also played in playing StarCraft too, so there's that.

I'm not at the end of the story yet, and I can't fucking beat this one boss right now because my characters are not leveled up high enough. Because I've I have to find the stuff, but you can also grow certain things that you need, but other times you have to fucking do these different like quests. Not all the quests will actually give you the items that you need, so you have to go out for protocol reasons to fight just to get these items.
