Literary Compass
A book review show where I pick random books in my collection to discuss what I love or hate about them and just sharing life experiences in my day to day. Still working out the podcast host thing along the way and hopefully some of you listeners will enjoy my book collection and maybe share some recommendation's.

Hello. Welcome back to another episode of Literary Compass. Yeah. A podcast about books I want to share with the world. Books that I have I like to share with the world. Pretty simple comp concept, right?
SPEAKER_00It's pretty simple. I don't know. The challenge is trying to articulate my thoughts in a format that is entertaining and maybe in like appropriate for the format I'm trying to accomplish. To be honest. Yeah, I listened to the previous episode, and I was a little not a little, I was really disappointed in myself. Yeah, I listened to the episode, and the episode sounded lame with no emotion. Only because I was using an AI assistant. And that goes against the books, right? It goes against the books. What books?
SPEAKER_01Well, books. Literature.
SPEAKER_00And uh the books I love for the simple fact that creativity is something we as humans need to protect, right?
SPEAKER_01What are we protecting? Well, I guess humanity, right?
SPEAKER_00And I I I went and listened to everything, and I wouldn't really call this an episode two. But maybe an intro to the next episode as a precursor to the subject I'm alluding to. And I'm guilty of using, right? It's the emergence of artificial intelligence, right? Artificial intelligence, we're all scared of it.
SPEAKER_01We're all looking at the downfall of humanity and what is to come, right?
SPEAKER_00Well, I'm looking on my book right now, and I have a book on my shelf that pertains to that very topic. And I hope a few people will take a time to listen and break the book down on the next episode. Like I said, this is only episode two. Not really episode two, it's just a precursor. It's an intrude to the book I'm going to share, is called. See if I can see that far. My eye sight is a little shitty. Machines Who Think by Pamela McCorduck.
SPEAKER_01Try to pronounce that right. Yes.
SPEAKER_00And I've read up to like maybe chapter six in the book. And by now, definitely, it has really caught my interest. And I love it. I love it so much. I love it. I love it. And I'm I'm I'm I'm I'm I'm getting a little excited because I read up to chapter six and I love it. And I'm planning to break this book down in a few episodes. Like, the book is dense. It's really fucking dense. It's thick. I don't know, maybe like almost 700 pages.
SPEAKER_01And yeah. I think it's so dense that I can't cover it in one episode.
SPEAKER_00I'm gonna break it down. I'm gonna break it down for you people. I'm gonna break it down for you people.
SPEAKER_01And I'm gonna maybe do a six-ish series on it.
SPEAKER_00And uh I think I can do it in six, maybe six or seven, because I'm looking at the chapters, it's so many timelines, and yeah, I think you people will really love this book.
SPEAKER_01But yeah, the density of the book is going to make me break this down, and I'm gonna leave it in as a learning experience, and let me see. And I went back to episode one, right?
SPEAKER_00From what I recorded, and I'm I'm just gonna leave it in, you know. Fuck it. Let's leave it in. Because we we need to learn from our experiences, right? Episode one wasn't perfect, episode two might not be perfect. Well, is this episode two? No, it's not. It's a precursor to episode three. No one is perfect, right? No one is fucking perfect. I'm not perfect. Are you perfect? If you are, let me know.
SPEAKER_01Put it in the comments. I challenge you to put it in your comment. And I think you can email me or whatever.
SPEAKER_00Because I'm using Buzz Sprout. By the way, I think everybody should use Buzz Sprout because it's really simple for anybody that's trying to. I got off subject here, but yeah.
SPEAKER_01To learn how to podcast, I think it's perfect as a beginner, like myself, go to Buzz Sprout.
SPEAKER_00This is not even an ad. I wish they would pay me. It would be nice. Buzz Sprout, Buzz Sprout. Just kidding. But back to the episode. Yes. I'm going to maybe talk about two chapters at a time for this book that I'm reading. It's really interesting. I really know that you people will like it. Machines Who Think. Pamela McCorda. I'm going to get more into this writer as I read for episode three.
SPEAKER_01This is episode two. Precursor to that. Okay. So back to the two-chapter thing. Um, yeah.
SPEAKER_00I'm going to do two chapters, and hopefully it turns out in my favor what the goal for this podcast is going to lay out for.
SPEAKER_01And let's see what happens, right?
SPEAKER_00I have so many fucking books in my show. Like, I have several books. Not just on that subject of AI. That might be boring to a lot of people, and it might interest a lot of people.
SPEAKER_01Definitely interests me. And I will share this book with you, listeners. And let's see what happens, right? If it sparks your interest, oh well. If it doesn't, fuck it. We'll go on to the next book.
SPEAKER_00And if you listen to any of the other episodes after this, because I have several books here that I'm listening to or looking at.
SPEAKER_01And um hopefully it sparks an interest in reading literature again. Literature again. That's my goal. That's my only goal.
SPEAKER_00Now let's see what happens. Be ready for the next episode. It should be episode three. I haven't titled it yet, but it's in the works. It should be good. And I'm working on it hard, and I don't want it to be shitty. And I'm not gonna use AI. I hate using AI. It was my bad, right? My bad. AI shouldn't be used for creativity, in my opinion. It should be used as a crutch.
SPEAKER_01A crutch to leap forward, I guess. I don't know. But we'll see. Listen to the next episode.
SPEAKER_00Stay tuned, people, and take care and read between the lines. I'll see you on the next episode.
SPEAKER_01And thank you for being patient with me. I have been working a lot in my regular time. And I will explain what happened in this big lapse between the first episode. So come back next time and listen to what I have to tell you. Thank you. And goodbye. See ya.
