The Brewers do it again... winning 8-3 over SanFrancisco.  Improving to 37-21, Kyle Harrison was brilliant again striking out 12 and improving to 7-1

Okay, so welcome to Brew Daily. I'm your host, Mike Heller. Hey, the Brewers did it again. Isn't this getting uh so awesome and ridiculous at the same time and a little bit stupid? I like stupid when it's in a good way and we're talking about our team. So the Brewers are on the verge of winning yet another series. There are two more two more games in this series. A win either on Wednesday night or Thursday afternoon would improve the Brewers to 9-1-1 in their last 10 series play. So they do it on Tuesday night with again great pitching. Kyle Harrison was just dominant. And the Brewers hitting again, uh, just brilliant all night long and a lot of two-out magic. We'll get to all of it. So we welcome in to Brew Daily. The Brewers winning again. The final score 8-3 this time over the San Francisco Giants, taking now the first two games of the series and scoring 24 runs in the two games, if my math is right, 16-8, 24. They improved to 37-21 to the Brewers. The Cardinals lost. The Cubs lost. And the Brewers now lead the Pirates, who are alone in second place by five and a half. They lead the Cubs and the Cardinals by 6.5 and the Reds by 7. It's just, it's, isn't it cool? It is such good stuff that the Brewers are doing right now. So let's kind of get into it. So here's how this works: Kyle Harrison on the mound. The Brewers were six and one for Kyle Harrison, six and one record going into tonight. Five and two thirds innings. He struck out 12. That matches a career high, allowed four hits, one run, and lowered his ERA to 1.57. And in fact, Harrison was just one out away from getting to 24 consecutive scoreless innings. And then he faced Willie Adamas, and Adamos hit a two-out solo home run that made it 3-1 the Brewers. So it's on a night the Milwaukee doesn't have great relief pitching, which is which is a rarity. They don't get enough from Uribe and Ashby. They didn't have their best stuff tonight. So they they get into a situation where Uribe uh he's an inning and three hits and a run. Ashby is an inning and a third, three hits and a run off of them. So this game hangs in the balance when the Brewers are going later in the game. So I'll go back to the first. Now I'm going to retrace our steps a little bit. Go back to the first inning. Jake Bowers, two outs. The Brewers threatening two runners on, and Bowers with two outs hits a home run. It's his 10th of the year. And the Brewers uh with Jake Bowers in the lineup, it has been special. Tonight he was at first base, but keep in mind he was in right field. He was in left field tonight at first base. He's now sitting at 36 runs batted in. Brewers scored uh another eight count tonight on 11 hits, and they had seven walks. Giants issue and a ton of walks, but you put 18 base runners on 11 by hits and seven by walks, and the Brewers had a night. Two hits each from Yelich, Churio, Tarang, Mitchell, and Freelick. Combined, they went 10 of 18 in the game tonight and scored six runs. You get five guys that combine to have 10 hits and go 10 of 18, score six runs, you're in a pretty good spot. All right, so on to the player of the game. A bit of a dilemma here because player of the game could have been Jake Bowers on a three-run homer in the first. Could have been. It could have been Kyle Harrison. Kyle Harrison, as I mentioned, he had that night five and two thirds, improved to seven and one, struck out 12. That matches his career high, four hits, one run, lowered his ERA to 1.57. Or it could be Kristen Yelich. Yelich was two for three, two runs, two RBIs, two walks. So I'm gonna split it and I'll go player of the game to Kyle Harrison. And I'll go play of the game to Kristen Yelich. So it's four three Brewers in the eighth inning, two outs, bottom of the eighth, four three, and first base is open. Runners at second and third. Yelich is the hitter, right-handed pitcher. Keep in mind Jackson Churio is on deck. Yelich is a left-handed hitter, right-handed pitcher. They decided to pitch to Yelich with first base open, and he paid the price. I thought Rock did a great job pointing that out on the telecast. Immediately after Yelich delivered on the two-out base hit to center that scored two runs, Rock goes, and I don't know why they pitched to him. First base was open, and that was a mistake San Francisco made. You make mistakes to great hitters. Former MVP hitter in Kristen Yelich, and he made you uh he made a pay. Two run, two out, two strike, single to center, scored two more runs. That put it from 4-3 danger zone into a 6-3, and the Brewers tacked on two more uh with RBIs from Churio and Tarang to cap it off. All eight runs for the Brewers. All eight runs for the Brewers scored tonight with two outs. This team has been ridiculous with two outs, and they were again tonight. So player of the game, I want Kyle Harrison. Play of the game, Yelich with that two out, two run, two-strike single in the eighth that expanded the lead. Insurance runs went from 4-3 to 6-3. Tech on two more in the inning. Needs improvement? Not much. Uh, Euribe and Ashby weren't at their best tonight. So we'll be better on that front rolling forward. They've been great so far, but not as good tonight. So very little. Ashby an inning and a third, uh, three hits and a run. Yuribe an inning, three hits and a run. Looking ahead, Brewers don't know who the starting pitcher is tomorrow. Uh Murphy, Pat Murphy postgame alluded to a transaction probably tomorrow. So we'll see who that is and see how they start against Logan Webb, who has for a long time been a great pitcher. He's not a great pitcher now. So see if you can get to him. No note on Thursday. Adrian Hauser for San Francisco, nothing yet for the Brewers. Then a road trip to Colorado. Ms. on Friday night after the Colorado stop on to Las Vegas for a three-game set with the A's. 37 and 21 are the Brewers. Brood Daily has been a hit. We're 3-0 since we started it. Let's get to 4 0 tomorrow. We'll talk to you then. Thanks for being here. We'll do it again. I love Mondays, is on Wednesday morning. Todd Rosiak will join me. We go live at 10 a.m. Thanks for being part of this. We'll talk to you then.
