SPEAKER_01

Hello, and welcome to the Scooby Zone, the podcast where I'm following up as we watch a bit of Scooby-Doo Media. Today, I'm Rob. I'm Kaney. And today we'll be watching episode 11, A Gagle of Galloping Ghosts. And speaking of a gaggle of ghosts, today we are joined by Scooby Zone super fans Gus and Pierre. Hi, thank you.

SPEAKER_00

Thank you for having us on.

SPEAKER_01

Thank you for wanting to be on. Yes, thank you. We appreciate that.

SPEAKER_00

Of course.

SPEAKER_01

So, it's your guys' first time on the podcast.

SPEAKER_03

Definitely first time.

SPEAKER_01

Why don't you guys tell us a little bit of your start of this great franchise of this great game of a dog that you love so much?

SPEAKER_00

Well, I started watching Scooby back in the 80s when I was a wee little pup. So my first memories are of watching Scooby-Doo on Saturday mornings. Especially the episodes with Scrappy-Doo. Those were some of the most classic ones that I loved watching. What about you guys?

SPEAKER_02

I basically just got interested in it by uh you got my parents. Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Can relate, that's how I got in. My daddy's a huge Scooby fan. So yeah, when watching on reruns on Cartoon Network in the early 90s, you know, it was usually always on my house.

SPEAKER_03

Unless you're like me and you have it on VHS from someone who recorded it for you. That was how you got into it from your uncle. So you know, that's how I got into the franchise.

SPEAKER_01

You know, it's great that Scooby's lasted as long as he has. Oh, yeah.

SPEAKER_00

It is, yes.

SPEAKER_01

And you know, and it's it's refreshing hearing you have fond memories of the Scrappy New era. I feel like you look online, there's so much hate towards Scrappy, and while he's not my favorite of the characters, like I can tolerate him. And in like you know, small doses, it's like, I don't know how I'll feel if I binge watch a whole series with him.

SPEAKER_00

For sure. He was new when I started watching, so that's probably part of the nostalgia for me.

SPEAKER_01

But I do think he gets the short end of the stick a lot of the times. Like, it's not his fault that the people writing at the time didn't know what to do with him.

SPEAKER_00

For sure. You gotta love puppy power.

SPEAKER_03

Oh yes, puppy power, of course.

SPEAKER_01

Um other questions. You guys have a favorite monster overall, like I can guess. You can guess with uh guys wanting to be on this particular episode. But I could be wrong.

SPEAKER_00

Well, the werewolf certainly is a favorite. It's in a couple episodes, and those are good ones. So I always enjoyed the werewolf. What about you?

SPEAKER_02

Ah, I also like the snow ghost a lot.

SPEAKER_01

My favorite's always been the spooky space kook. I know that was my dad's favorite episode growing up, and that that I think is like a good episode for somebody who's never seen Scooby before because it like hits all the great beats of why Scooby is so hilarious.

SPEAKER_00

For sure. Definitely Captain Cutler, another excellent one.

SPEAKER_03

Oh yes, he has made our list too. Yes.

SPEAKER_01

Um I think he's what three out of the couple.

SPEAKER_03

Three, I think, is where he's sitting right now. I think right now he's number three. Yep. Yep.

SPEAKER_01

Three or four. I can't remember where we put the ghost clown last week.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah. Oh yeah, that's true. We have the ghost clown too.

SPEAKER_01

Although we'll get to that later one then. Yes, we will. Go through. Do you have any questions you'd like to ask?

SPEAKER_03

I don't think so. I think we're pretty much set to watch the episode. Okay.

SPEAKER_01

Well about you guys have any questions for us?

SPEAKER_00

Anyway, we don't uh I love the Scooby snack count and listening to how many we're getting up to. And I am surprised how low it is yet. Because in your mind you think like he's eaten like 10 an episode, right?

SPEAKER_04

Right? Exactly.

SPEAKER_00

Not close to that yet. I hope it picks up soon, though.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, I'm hoping. I'm hoping it picks up soon. I believe our current count is 19 Scooby snacks plus one shaggy snack.

SPEAKER_00

Plus one hero sandwich from last week. And I would expect there to be about half of that in one episode. So we'll see when he picked it, especially some of those where he starts eating the whole boxes in one sitting.

SPEAKER_01

I know we are getting close to where there's at least a whole box eaten. Because I think in Nowhere to Hide, there's a point where Scooby gives Shaggy an entire box of Scooby snacks. Uh during the chase scene.

SPEAKER_00

Okay. That should bring up the total.

SPEAKER_01

That should figure out how many ever in there.

SPEAKER_03

You haven't figured that out yet.

SPEAKER_00

Might have to watch it in slow motion, watch them slowly drop out to determine how many actually the box.

SPEAKER_03

That's true. Also, it might be a full half a box anyway.

SPEAKER_01

No, uh yeah, like surprisingly few times Velma's lost her glasses so far.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, we expected that to be more. Yeah, I think we're at like two or three times only.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. You think it's every single episode.

SPEAKER_01

Um it is, it's been very mind-blowing. Just like you have all these preconceived notions of like what all happens in every episode, and we haven't like gotten like very little of it. Like, I don't think they've yet to say those meddling kids. No, I don't think yeah. Like, that's just such an iconic line.

SPEAKER_03

It is. Yep.

SPEAKER_00

Well, it's still first season, they're trying to find themselves.

SPEAKER_03

It's probably true.

SPEAKER_00

It'll it'll pick up, I'm sure.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

And yeah, the We've had very few traps as well.

SPEAKER_03

We have had very few traps.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, we've had some good ones, but I thought for sure we'd have a lot of traps, like one per episode. But like no, some episodes there's just no trap.

SPEAKER_03

You know, so it's like, how does that even make any sense? There's like no trap.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. Some ghosts are easier to catch than others.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, some are easier to catch than others.

SPEAKER_00

I do like the fake train, though. I thought that was very ingenious.

SPEAKER_01

Yes.

SPEAKER_03

Yep. That's a good thing.

SPEAKER_01

Utilizing Shaggy's expertise.

SPEAKER_03

Shaggy's expertise. We gotta put that one in there.

SPEAKER_01

Hey, when he stops being an expert in something, that's gonna be an issue. Yeah. Because yeah, I don't think there's anything he's not an expert in. No, apparently not. No, last week we showed that he's more of an expert trap maker than Fred. Yeah, that's true.

SPEAKER_00

He's very good at that.

SPEAKER_01

He is very good. So, anyways, I think that we're good to go. So we'll split up, go look for some clues, watch the episode. You guys can too. The entire series of Scooby-Doo Where Are You is available on DVD, Blu-ray. It's all still currently available on uh Tubi. You can purchase it digitally off of uh Fandango, what used to be Voodoo uh service.

SPEAKER_03

I think Amazon has it too.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Double check on Amazon. I know the other day I was looking for I think scrappy related stuff, and like half of it was missing. Half of it, okay. Um, so yeah, just double check on Amazon if you can get that digitally there. Okay. But anyways, we're gonna go watch the episode and we will be right back.

unknown

All right.

SPEAKER_01

And we're back. That was what a no that was a game of Galilee Ghosts.

SPEAKER_03

Oh boy, we're messing up on that one too.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_03

Okay, all right. A little hiprov there. Oh boy. So what did you guys think? I thought it was pretty good. I thought it was pretty good.

SPEAKER_00

That was a very good episode. It it seems longer than what you would expect. I think it might be from all the different monsters in the movie, too. Right.

SPEAKER_04

Definitely. Oh, definitely.

SPEAKER_01

So, yeah, we'll go ahead and we'll start from the top to recap the episode. You guys have anything to add while we're doing that, you know, feel free to. Um so, you know, starts off. We see the werewolf overlook, you know, he's in the castle, he's overlooking. We see the mystery machine driving by. Yeah, of course. You know, the game, they're on their way to what was it? Franken Castle.

SPEAKER_03

Franken Castle? Something. Wasn't it like the Franken Castle?

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, Franken Castle. Franken Castle, okay, alright. And where I think it was Daphne mentioned that there's a fortune teller up ahead. Yep. You know, they decided to go and have their fortune sold. Yeah. Um on the way there, though, I think Velma mentioned that, you know, the castle was imported stone by stone from Transylvania.

SPEAKER_03

I think she said that. Sounds about right.

SPEAKER_01

You know, and mentioned how Transylvania is famous for its wear moles. Oh, yep. I thought we thought Transylvania was more famous for vampires.

SPEAKER_00

I thought it was. Sometimes there's more vampires, but I would agree with that. Well, there was a vampire there.

SPEAKER_03

There was a vampire there.

SPEAKER_00

It definitely made sense.

SPEAKER_01

It did. Um we also get a nice little animation mistake where Fred is missing his blue shirt and is instead wearing a white shirt shirt. Yep.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, definitely.

SPEAKER_01

Fred has a lot of animation in his shirt.

SPEAKER_03

He has a lot of wardrobe malfunctions, and he looked very confused too. He's wondering why he loses part of he loses that first. And then I think it looks like he's wearing a tank top with still the collar on, so he has major wardrobe malfunctions in this episode.

SPEAKER_00

He is very quick at changing his outfit.

SPEAKER_03

Wait a minute, don't do that. Oh, don't flip that one. We don't want that either.

SPEAKER_01

Then arrives at the fortune teller, you know, and she tells them that there's doom in their future, how they should stay away from the castle, how the caretaker just, you know, left because of werewolves and whatnot.

SPEAKER_03

Yep.

SPEAKER_01

You know, as you can expect, they don't listen.

SPEAKER_03

Of course not. Why would they listen? What if they ever listen to when someone tells them something like that? Oh, that means we need to go.

SPEAKER_01

Because they don't want to listen to Shag and Stu have listening away from creepy places.

SPEAKER_03

Nope, they definitely don't want to do that. Uh-huh.

SPEAKER_00

At this point, I think they've established themselves of following monsters. So they're gonna go.

SPEAKER_03

So they're gonna go. Yep.

SPEAKER_01

You know, they show up at the castle, and you know, there's just some convenient lightning going on with no clouds of disappearance.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, how does that how is that even possible?

SPEAKER_01

I mean, they could use that as it could be really warm, you know, heat lightning.

SPEAKER_03

It could be. Even Fred is is amazed by that. He's confused as to why Wow.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, you know, he's so amazed that you know he gets a slight almost unigrow while not even. Uh-huh. Uh you know, they walk up, you know. Shagey mentions how the caretaker's not there, so how are they gonna get across when all of a sudden the drawbridge lowers?

SPEAKER_00

Which is very convenient.

SPEAKER_01

It is very convenient. Fred thinks that that you know, the caretaker must be back. So they drive up, they get out, and standing across the drawbridge is a vampire. Oh no. You know, tells them they ought to stay away and whatnot. Velma's just like, you stop that now.

SPEAKER_03

They have permission to be there.

SPEAKER_01

And, you know, vampire turns into a bat, chases them away while the drawbridge starts going up. Yeah. And Daphne gets trapped on the other side. Of course she does. Good old danger-prone Daphne. Danger-prone Daphne, yep, I guess.

SPEAKER_00

She is prone to danger.

SPEAKER_01

She is very prone. And all of a sudden, Frankenstein's monster appears and starts chasing her.

SPEAKER_03

Chasing after her, yep.

SPEAKER_01

Fred, being the worried person that he is, yep, decides to swing a rope to have Shaggy and Scooby swing across to let them over.

SPEAKER_00

Which is quite a feat when you are swinging across the moat with a great bane on your back.

SPEAKER_02

Don't surprise the rope doesn't snap or anything. Keep in mind, there were alligators in the There's a sense of danger.

SPEAKER_03

Shaggy is just an expert at swinging on a rope. He is. And wait, this is all done without a Scooby snack. How does that make any sense?

SPEAKER_01

Why wouldn't they do it with a thinks he'll get another Shaggy snack for balls?

SPEAKER_03

Oh, maybe so.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, which I would have held out for the Scooby snack in there.

SPEAKER_03

No, no, yeah, right.

SPEAKER_01

If I were if I knew in advance there are alligators in the moat, for sure hold out for Scooby Snack. I would definitely, yeah, right now. Technically, we were not known that there were alligators in the moat. No, no, we didn't. So I'll give it to Shaggy this. Maybe I'll give it to Shaggy. Hopefully, he learns from this.

SPEAKER_03

I hope he does.

SPEAKER_01

They manage to get across with no problems. They get to the drawbridge control. Shaggy pulls out a wooden pole that was holding it in place while the werewolf is up behind them, scares Scooby away and pushes the pole back in.

SPEAKER_00

And Scooby was supposed to be on the lookout.

SPEAKER_03

He was supposed to be on gardening.

SPEAKER_01

So Shaggy immediately thinks Scooby gave that. Turns to see the werewolf.

SPEAKER_03

Stop clouding around, Scooby. This is Scooby.

SPEAKER_01

He pulls the pole back out, hands it to her, like, here, friend. Here, best friend. And then they run off. Scooby trips the werewolf while wearing a suit of armor. So this might be the first of what I like to call the coward's costume compendium of the many disguises they wear while chicken while running away from monsters. Yep.

SPEAKER_00

And a suit of armor is not an easy thing to get in and out. It is not. And Scooby definitely got in that.

SPEAKER_03

You didn't hear it fall or break or anything.

SPEAKER_02

He's just running out and also you think he'd be too small to even like fit in there.

SPEAKER_00

That's a good point.

SPEAKER_01

That is a great date. I would argue that you know, being a great date, he's too big to fit in. Yeah, yeah, he's too big. Yeah.

SPEAKER_03

So how does he even get in there and out of it without a problem?

SPEAKER_01

Makes as much sense as most of the other stuff. That is true.

SPEAKER_03

It's maybe just Scooby logic. It doesn't have to make sense.

SPEAKER_01

Scooby hides in a piano. Shaggy hides behind curtains in a window. Yep. And uses expert ventriloquism. Part two to trick the werewolf that they are hiding in different suits of armor. Yep. It fools in the first time. Yep. And then Shaggy does it again. Fools the werewolf the second time. Yep. But he throws the suit of armor that's holding the gnat straight into the piano. Into the piano. Scooby picks up some broken piano keys, puts them in his mouth, and pretends to be a monster.

SPEAKER_02

Now we have a monster dog.

SPEAKER_00

Or a dog that needs braces.

SPEAKER_02

Something like that too.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. It could go either way. It could, couldn't it? Um it frightens the werewolf surprisingly. It does.

SPEAKER_03

I expect it.

SPEAKER_01

Scooby's able to lure him into a trap Shaggy has just made with a chandelier. Which surprisingly works very effectively.

SPEAKER_03

It does work very well.

SPEAKER_00

We don't even see how the werewolf ends up getting out of that trap.

SPEAKER_01

That's definitely true. The fact Shaggy didn't think of how he was gonna get down from that. Right.

SPEAKER_03

He didn't think the trap all the way through.

SPEAKER_00

But thankfully, Scooby was there with uh, was it a couch, I believe?

SPEAKER_03

Some form of a couch.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, some type of bed, day bed.

SPEAKER_03

Day bed or something. Good thing that was available. Pretty quick thinking on that too.

SPEAKER_01

So uh we then cut to Friend and Velma, where they end up in a dining room without lit fireplace. Yeah. So like maybe we're expected for dinner.

SPEAKER_03

I hope not.

SPEAKER_01

Just as long as we're not supposed to be there. No, we're not supposed to be dinner. And Velma just completely that's who he was. Definitely. Oh, it looked the same as the horse man, yeah.

SPEAKER_00

Almost exact. Almost exactly exact.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah. Right?

SPEAKER_00

And uh yet it wasn't even that long ago.

SPEAKER_03

No, it wasn't. So how does that even make it?

SPEAKER_01

She was too busy focusing on telling him to stop it. Yep, that's probably thought it was a different one.

SPEAKER_03

Probably thought so. Well, they are in Transylvania, you know.

SPEAKER_00

It could be more than one vampire.

SPEAKER_01

So who knows? Right.

SPEAKER_00

Um but he does look extremely different than a lot of the vampires that we will see in future episodes.

SPEAKER_03

That's right, yes, he does.

SPEAKER_01

So that that doesn't the amount of vampires we end up seeing is quite a lot.

SPEAKER_03

It is quite a few. That's surprising.

SPEAKER_00

And none look like him.

SPEAKER_03

No, yeah.

SPEAKER_01

You know, they're looking around the dining room, then Velma loses her glasses, and popping her head on a table. So you go ahead and take a drink for Velma losing her glasses. Yep. And she's crawling around under the table looking for them. If I swear, Velma, like even get a glasses strapped. Yeah, a glasses trap. Come on. Or it's like, you know, they're only gonna fall so far in front of you. Right. You know, they're gonna be looking out in a circle, not a straight line. Yep. But she ends up crawling into a secret passage that's behind the fireplace. Yep. You know, just getting lost. Yep.

SPEAKER_00

Which conveniently opened at that time. It did.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, it must have been a sensor or something all of a sudden opened. Unless the vampire did it, maybe the vampire came out.

SPEAKER_00

I didn't see anything. No.

SPEAKER_03

I'm wondering if the vampire might be a different one.

SPEAKER_00

If it was when her head bumped the table, that was a very delayed. Because she did spend a little bit of time searching for the glasses before she got, and then there was some distance to cover before she got to the fireplace. But that could have been, I guess.

SPEAKER_03

It could have been. Who knows? I mean, I mean, the other thing I'm thinking of is maybe the vampire did something when he was up in the stand there. He has a little console or something.

SPEAKER_01

Wait, we know where she ends up.

SPEAKER_03

Right. Yeah. I mean, it's I mean, even though we don't see him pushing any buttons, it definitely could be where he did something because he sees her and he could press a button, and that's when it goes up. That'd be that makes sense.

SPEAKER_00

Also, it was a dangerous thing to have a fireplace that elevates like that.

SPEAKER_03

That would be very dangerous, yes.

SPEAKER_00

Is that because the chimney also elevates something?

SPEAKER_03

Oh, yeah, right.

SPEAKER_00

You would think it would have to.

SPEAKER_03

That might be a problem.

SPEAKER_00

Yes.

SPEAKER_03

You'll see you'll see a piece of it here. That's our safety conservative episode, guys.

SPEAKER_00

And the insurance on that castle is probably astronomical.

SPEAKER_01

It probably is. Yeah. If not earlier. Stone by stone. How does that be? It might have to.

SPEAKER_00

And would they replace it with Transylvanian bricks again?

SPEAKER_01

Right. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. You know, when you restore like historical buildings, like you have to be really precise on your materials. Right. Yeah. Man.

SPEAKER_00

A lot of unknowns.

SPEAKER_03

A lot of unknowns here. Yes.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, this one's full of them, guys. Yeah, this one actually is, surprisingly. Um shade and scoob, they end up in the kitchen. Because where else would they end up? True. So they decide to go check the fridge for some food. You check the refrigerage. And we find uh some pickled bat wings. Werewolf snacks. And fried moon beans.

SPEAKER_03

Someone's got quite the appetite.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, don't point out. Are those all for the werewolf?

SPEAKER_03

Or are they all are the is that for all of them? Does the vampire get one and the werewolf and then the Frankenstein? That is true. I don't know. You would think, unless the zap is where he eats. If he gets zap, then that's his food.

SPEAKER_01

I would say did Dr. Frankenstein give his monster an actual stomach or just a torso?

SPEAKER_00

I guess that is an unknown.

SPEAKER_03

It's just, oh, this is must be what they eat.

SPEAKER_00

And would a vampire eat bat wings? Yeah, that is true.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, it's bat wings, not the actual bat. So yeah, I don't know.

SPEAKER_01

I feel like asking the chicken if he would eat chicken wings, I guess.

SPEAKER_03

Right? Yeah. Definitely don't think so.

SPEAKER_00

I think I think the werewolf would clean up all those.

SPEAKER_03

I think so. Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

I can see that point. I can see that point too. Yep. So, obviously, shades people aren't gonna eat any of that.

SPEAKER_03

No. Talk about a menu.

SPEAKER_01

You know, Scoob, go check the pantry. Sure, why not? And wouldn't you know it? There's Frankenstein in the pantry.

SPEAKER_03

Going in the pantry.

SPEAKER_01

He probably does eat.

SPEAKER_03

That's why he went in the pantry.

SPEAKER_01

No. They got into some kitchen shenanigans riding around on a hook that's just uh kind of suspended in the kitchen. Yeah, why would that be in there? I you know, I'd expect that like a meat market place for like hanging slabs of meat, but it would be a castle kitchen. I can't imagine that. I can't imagine that either.

SPEAKER_00

There must be some convenience factor for it.

SPEAKER_01

There must be. Well, it can easily help them escape into a dumb waiter. Which then turned into a slide. Yep. Yep. Um but after Shake and Scoob get inside of said dumb waiter, Velma's secret tunnel ends up into a torture chamber. No, it's the playroom. Oh, I was saying these are the playrooms.

SPEAKER_03

Look at all those toys.

SPEAKER_01

Look at all those toys. It must be the playroom. That must be Shaggy over there. Skeleton.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah. Skinny enough. Really skinny.

SPEAKER_00

I think the skeleton might have been a little bigger than Shaggy.

SPEAKER_03

It might have been.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, the skeleton would have Scooby-Cealing all the spoons. Yep. Zelma then hears some footsteps and decides to blindly run Scooby. Where she falls into a barrel. Yep. Which I don't know how she heard footsteps when it's Shag in Scoob coming down a slide.

SPEAKER_03

It's true.

SPEAKER_01

Unless she heard Daphne's footsteps from somebody. True, I guess. She must have like Scooby ears once she's. She must be.

SPEAKER_03

Which makes sense, you know, when you lose one sense, all the other ones get heightened. That might be, but then who then how can she not feel her glasses? That is true. How could she not have felt them? Or at least brushed up against them. Oh, then they're right there.

SPEAKER_02

It's definitely mean the Velma. She touched everywhere but where her glasses were.

SPEAKER_01

Well, you know, fake Scoob come down the slide. Scooby smells Scooby Snacks. Yeah, how is that possible? Why were there Scooby Snacks in a torture chain? No, in the playroom.

SPEAKER_00

But what aroma do Scooby Snacks have?

SPEAKER_03

Probably like a dog treat or something, I would think.

SPEAKER_00

But they seem like they're dry, and usually dry like dog food does not have that at least that strong of an aroma.

SPEAKER_03

Right. Yeah. That is true.

SPEAKER_01

They almost look like those like small butterscotch candies.

SPEAKER_04

Okay. Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

So I don't know. I'm almost vegan. That was like a butterscotch smell. That could be.

SPEAKER_03

Could be. Yeah.

unknown

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

You know, and I don't think butterscotch is poisonous to dogs or hanging out. I don't think butterscotch is.

SPEAKER_03

I would explain it too.

SPEAKER_00

Because if it was an actual dog treat, chances are Shaggy would not care for it.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, I think it's probably some sort of like human. I can imagine it being some sort of human food that's safe for dogs. They use as like a premium snack for the city. Yeah, it could be something like that. No, when you're training a dog, like you have like regular dog snacks, and then they're usually like, you know, an extra special snack.

SPEAKER_03

Oh, yeah. Good beef.

SPEAKER_01

But, you know, Scooby sniffs Scooby Snacks in this barrel. Somehow they're magically. And all of a sudden one shows up. What pops out? Who is that? Shaggy doesn't believe it. Who did that? And then we find Valentine the barrel. I did. She asks Shaggy if he still has her spare glasses, which she does. Miraculously. How do they did not break just sitting in his pocket with all of the hiding and sliding that they've done this episode alone?

SPEAKER_03

Right.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. Kind of amazing. Yeah, you would think that's a good thing. Although her glasses do seem pretty thick.

SPEAKER_03

That is true.

SPEAKER_00

That is well, they have to be very thick.

SPEAKER_03

They have to be very thick.

SPEAKER_02

Well, then that wouldn't explain why she couldn't feel them. Well, she's just lightly brushing around where it is, completely somehow missing.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, she's not very good at that.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, I. We then find we hear Daphne and we find that she's trapped in a dungeon where the top of it is just in the floor. You know, little floor great. She says that she was chased by a creepy old creepy guy.

SPEAKER_03

Maybe that's what we heard. Maybe we heard the creature chasing after Daphne. I mean, that could be what they're fairly set up here.

SPEAKER_01

And so they find a rope, they lower it down to get Daphne out. Yeah. While at the same time, the vampire comes out of a statue. Like two statue. Yeah. Yeah. Type sarcophagus, type. Sarcophagus, like an. And he starts sneaking up on them. Yep. When Scooby notices, starts growling at him. Yep. And then proceeds to tie the vampire up. Pretty much Empire Strikes Backs. Yep, pretty much.

SPEAKER_03

Empire Strikes Backs.

SPEAKER_01

Stop that, you mutt. Yep. Yep. Yeah. He gets the vampire's legs tied up and they drip he drags him over into the dungeon they just got Daphne out of.

SPEAKER_03

Yep.

SPEAKER_02

He tells him away because he wants to put the vampire into the dungeon. Speaking of which, we never see how we get Daphne out of there. No, we she's just random. We can assume how she gets out, but yet you just want to do that.

SPEAKER_01

I guess they hold her out while we see Scooby type. That could be. Yeah. We just don't see it on screen, which so you know. They walk off going through a tunnel, which seems to get darker. Yep. They come they open a door where we see Daphne and Velma and they run into Fred. But Shaggy and Scooby have just disappeared. Disappeared.

SPEAKER_03

Of course. Somehow they do. Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

You know, Daphne mentions how she has a clue that there was a note in the dungeon she was trapped in. Talking about how there's jewels hidden around. We then cut to Shaggy and Scooby where they run into a mad scientist lab. Yay. We don't know for sure that the scientist was mad.

SPEAKER_00

No, but Shaggy is thoroughly convinced. He's convinced.

SPEAKER_01

I think we can assume from its location that you know. Yep. There's something off about the scientists.

SPEAKER_03

Definitely something off.

SPEAKER_01

Yep. Mm-hmm. Shaggy decides to just randomly start mixing chemicals.

SPEAKER_03

He's an expert in mixing chemicals. He's the mad scientist.

SPEAKER_00

There was no indication that he would have known what chemicals they were. Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

He probably did not. Yep. You know. He thinks that it'll turn werewolves into a pussycat. Into a pussycat. While at the same time, behind one of the scientific instruments, it opens up and we see the werewolf. Yep. But Shaggy doesn't like the smell of his concoction. He tosses it behind him where it lands in front of the werewolf and explodes. Yep. And the werewolf just goes back into the tunnel and gets out of there.

SPEAKER_03

He doesn't like the smell. The smell really surprised him.

SPEAKER_01

He's not dealing with this.

SPEAKER_03

He's out of here, guys. They managed to get rid of him.

SPEAKER_01

Yep. They see a sheet on the table. Yep. And they think it's the Frankenstein taking a nap. So Shaggy tells Scooby that you'll pull the sheet off. I'll spread in with this fire hose.

SPEAKER_02

Yep, that's not like. Also, there's conveniently fire hose there. Yeah, something else.

SPEAKER_00

That is a good point. I don't know that that's commonplace for man scientists to have a fire hose in their laboratory.

SPEAKER_01

I can imagine a lot of fires break out of their laboratory. Yeah, what it's could be the case. Yeah. How authentic it is to a Transylvanian castle, I don't know.

SPEAKER_03

I don't think that's that point too.

SPEAKER_01

I don't think that's but it'll be a soggy roast. Soggy roast. Turns out it's just a wireframe in the shape of Frankenstein. The water pressure bounces off the wireframe in the Scooby. In the Scooby. Who's wrapped up in the sheet. Somehow. Scooby holds up a mirror to which then the hose bounces off of a light fixture comes back into Shaggy.

SPEAKER_03

How does that not explode or heat up or shake?

SPEAKER_01

That's when Shaggy decides to turn it off.

SPEAKER_03

He gets a bath too. They all end up getting a bath.

SPEAKER_01

No. Shaggy and Scooby, they continue to just play around in the lab. Scooby is now pretending to be a Frankenstein monster. Yep. And Shaggy has Scooby get on a gurney, which has a mad doctor. Which has straps on it to strap Scooby down.

SPEAKER_00

But you would not want him falling off. No, what's pushing him?

SPEAKER_03

He's pushing him.

SPEAKER_01

In which they hear moaning. Shaggy asks Scooby if he put the sheet back on the on the wireframe. Scooby says no, and it turns out to be Frankenstein. And he was over there the whole time and nobody knew what it was. Really? Shaggy starts running off, forgetting Scooby. Yep. This is why it was a bad idea to strap Scooby down. This was definitely a bad idea. Well, Frankenstein grabs the gurney Scooby's on and pushes it away. Definitely. Why would he do that? He had the perfect chance to strike. I guess no one ever said Frankenstein's monster was intelligent, do I? Nobody said that.

SPEAKER_00

Well, the most surprising part about that is he pushes him away and then he chases after the gurney. Like if you're gonna push him away because you don't want him around, that's fair. But why would you push him just to chase after him?

SPEAKER_03

He's trying to get in his steps, alright? He's gotta have his steps.

SPEAKER_01

I don't know. Is fitness a big fit back in the 60s?

SPEAKER_03

I don't know.

SPEAKER_00

Or for monsters.

SPEAKER_03

Or for yeah, right. Yeah, right. I guess not.

SPEAKER_01

Monsters toppled together from parts of other people. That is true. Yeah. The girlby that Scooby's on bumps into Shaggy and they start riding down out of the room. Scooby's tail closes the door as they go through. Yep. And the trinket signs monster runs into it.

SPEAKER_02

How does the cart go so fast?

SPEAKER_03

It hits Shaggy, but he's still wet. Yeah. Um how does it gain extra momentum? Yeah, that's true. Unless it sounds like an incline that we don't see that somehow it's going down, somehow. But still. Right.

SPEAKER_00

It had to be one heck of a push. Yeah.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah. Well, it's Frank is that he's supposed to be really strong. Yeah, that's definitely true. Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

But in order to get the cart to stop, uh Shaggy pulls the sheet out from under Scooby and uses it like a sail parachute type thing. Thankfully stopping just right before they get to a bunch of stairs. Yep. And then you say, boy, what a fun ride that was. Yeah, boy, what a ride. And then we find, you know, Fred Daphne and Velma. And Velma is like, what do you mean riding that card around? Well, since. And then Shakey's like, well, if you guys didn't get lost.

SPEAKER_03

Seemed like a good idea. Yeah. So, yeah, Shakey's stupid to get lost. Velma got lost. Was it the other way around? Nope.

SPEAKER_01

Um, Fred mentions how the only clue they have to go on is the note from Daphne. Yep. So they're going down to the crypt. Shaggy asks, what's a crypt? I don't even know why. It's basically a place where people bury their dead. Well now Scooby's sick.

SPEAKER_03

That's why he's sick. He goes and hides on the thing and he's sick.

SPEAKER_01

How did he get a Scooby snack for that?

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, I know. This doesn't. Unless we're holding out on Scooby's, I guess, what per episode? I don't know. Are we championing out on Scooby or what?

SPEAKER_01

We end up bound by the crypt and we find one that has the same year that was mentioned in Daphne's note. Yep. Of 1668.

SPEAKER_02

Yep.

SPEAKER_01

They open it and they find the vampire.

SPEAKER_02

Even though it says Frankenstein on it. That is true. On the two. Yeah, why would you?

SPEAKER_00

That is a good point.

SPEAKER_02

Why is he sleeping in the city?

SPEAKER_03

Well, it's Fernand Castle. Right.

SPEAKER_00

So is the vampire's last name Frankenstein?

SPEAKER_03

Maybe it's Frankenstein the vampire, right?

SPEAKER_00

Is the vampire really Dr. Frankenstein?

unknown

Oh.

SPEAKER_01

It could be. It could be. Yeah, it could be too. Because yeah, then you know the popular misconception is that, you know, the monster isn't Frankenstein. It's Frankenstein's monster. You know, made by Dr. Frankenstein. Right. So maybe it's Vampire Frankenstein.

SPEAKER_00

And it is a little rude to go opening those crypts.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

Um, I don't know that that's that's a little bit rude, I think.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. Did you add expert grave robber to Shaggy's resume? Sure. Well, I think that's not a good idea. Shady Fred open it.

SPEAKER_03

He did. He actually surprised me was able to help him.

SPEAKER_01

And then he made it Or Spread the Grave Robber.

SPEAKER_03

That is true. He is he's one who asked, and Shaggy just helped him.

SPEAKER_01

So what's the difference between grave robbery and archaeology?

SPEAKER_03

That is true. It's a fine line. It is a fine line.

SPEAKER_01

I think the doctor is the difference. Anyway, yeah. The vampire is chasing Fred and the girls. Yep. Shaggy and Scooby are hiding by the tapestry. In which they decide to use the tapestry to try to trap the vampire. Yep.

SPEAKER_04

Mm-hmm.

SPEAKER_00

Which is a good idea. It is.

SPEAKER_01

Until, you know, Fred and the girls run by, in which then Shaggy and Scooby pull the tapestry over. Yep. Vampire's head gets through. He keeps running. Goes back into the crypt. Yep. And, you know, they decide to open it so he has his. Well, he's trapped there.

SPEAKER_03

Right, he's trapped in there now.

SPEAKER_00

You would not have thought that he could run that well.

SPEAKER_01

No. Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

With the curtain wrapped around him.

SPEAKER_01

Right. You would not think so. They opened it back up and the vampire's gone. Somehow magically he's got a few. All that's left out of the crypt was a ruby, a diamond, and a gold earring. Hmm. I wonder who has that. I wonder who was wearing that. Fred says the gold earring looks familiar. And they noticed that Scooby still has a bit of the torn tapestry.

SPEAKER_04

Mm-hmm.

SPEAKER_01

And on the back side were pearls and a bunch of other jewels.

SPEAKER_04

Mm-hmm.

SPEAKER_01

Which Fred then mentions how the gold earring is very similar to the one the fortune teller was wearing. Oh. So we decided to go back to the fortune teller. Who also has to rush back. Yeah. Everyone's gotta rush back the fortune teller. Fortune teller then asks them how their trip to the castle was. And Fred mentions how they could ask her the same thing.

SPEAKER_03

Me? I never went to the castle.

SPEAKER_01

In which Scooby finds the tapestry. On the chair that the Fortune Teller is sitting on. Fortune Teller suddenly has a man's board. We have that backwards. Scooby gives chase. Yep. Eventually getting hold of the tapestry, pulls it, and you know, the fortune teller just falls right as a police car is coming by.

SPEAKER_03

Magic magically shows up. Hmm.

SPEAKER_00

He did hear of trouble.

SPEAKER_03

There was trouble afoot. How he would have heard that I am not. Also, we don't know where the police station is. Yeah, that's true.

SPEAKER_00

It could be next to the castle.

SPEAKER_03

It could be. Or he could just be out on patrol and all of a sudden somehow hears the trouble afoot. Yeah. You know.

SPEAKER_01

We don't know when the caretaker left. So maybe the caretaker, you know, got in touch with the was like, hey, there are monsters around here. Wait a minute to go arrest them.

SPEAKER_00

Why did the caretaker leave? Could the caretaker have been in on it?

SPEAKER_03

That could have been true. There are so many unanswered questions.

SPEAKER_00

He's an unseen character. Right.

SPEAKER_03

Yep. But was just mentioned.

SPEAKER_00

In on it.

SPEAKER_01

It could be. Yeah, you never know. You know. We find out that the fortune teller is really Big Bob Oakley, also known as the actor, who's mounted in seven states.

SPEAKER_03

Does make sense why he's in so many different albums.

SPEAKER_00

I'd like to know which seven. I'm curious. Yeah, right.

SPEAKER_03

Simpley mentioned seven. Well, which seven are we talking about here? Yeah, we need to know Coolsville. Yeah, definitely. Yep.

SPEAKER_01

You know, in which we don't get quite the, you know, the iconic line of meddling kids, but you know, he does mention he would have gotten away with it if it wasn't for those blasted kids. Yep. And the dog.

SPEAKER_00

And the dog.

SPEAKER_01

And the dog. So we're almost there, guys. We're getting there to the We're blasted.

SPEAKER_03

We're blasted. It's supposed to be meddling. But they're blasted kids. So, you know, close, but not there yet, guys. Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

We then end this episode on them having a picnic outside the castle. Then they're talking how, you know, the one thing they never figured out is how they did the trick with the bat. Yep. In which we see a bat swoop down. Swoop down. And, you know, it's mentioned like, well, it's just a stuffed bat on a wire. Uh-huh. While at the same time, Scooby comes down on the wire and seals Shaggy's sandwich.

SPEAKER_03

Part of his sandwich, not all of it. Part of it.

SPEAKER_00

The majority.

SPEAKER_03

Majority of it.

SPEAKER_02

Why is he holding? He's holding it in a dumb way that something could obviously get it. Right, yeah.

SPEAKER_01

He's holding it up like that. When the bat's coming down, Shaggy specifically says, save my sandwich while holding it straight up. Why would you hold it straight up?

SPEAKER_03

You would want to.

SPEAKER_00

So if he does say save my sandwich, was he expecting one of the other members of the gang to take it and preserve it?

SPEAKER_03

That could be. I mean, that is with how he held it out. That was kind of them.

SPEAKER_01

Why was he expecting the bat to eat his sandwich?

SPEAKER_03

Right? It's just a stuffed bat. Why would it want to eat?

SPEAKER_00

I mean, it could knock it down, but that's Well, it wasn't gonna eat the bat wings.

SPEAKER_01

No, yeah, right. That's where we ended the episode. Scooby gets a nice good chunk of sandwich. Scooby's upset. Everything's pretty normal for them.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, definitely pretty normal.

SPEAKER_01

So, yeah, this is a nice good episode.

SPEAKER_03

That's a pretty good episode, surprisingly enough.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. No. On to the more fun bits of the next. Oh, yes, definitely the fun bits of the day. We have another Scooby snack to add to this snack intake. Yay. We definitely do. Our apparent snack intake now is at a total of we've had 20 Scooby snacks, one shaky snack, and one hero sandwich.

SPEAKER_03

Yay. We're getting up there, but not as the way we want to.

SPEAKER_00

One of my favorite things as a kid was I was watching the hero sandwiches.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

And I was always jealous that I couldn't have a sandwich that long.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

I would love to have a sandwich that big. Have no clue how.

SPEAKER_03

You're gonna need a bigger mouth.

SPEAKER_02

Shady's mouth doesn't seem that big. So but he squished, they always get it where they have to push the sandwich.

SPEAKER_00

Sometimes he ties it down.

SPEAKER_03

He gets Scooby to hold his paw to hold it down, and then it gets flattened like, oh. Now he yanks it on to the what happened? Oh man.

SPEAKER_01

Alright. Alright. So what should we go on to next? The manifest of monsters or the Fred Jones failure files.

SPEAKER_03

Should we let our guests pick for this time? Since we have lovely guests this time. Should we have them pick what we do first? What do you guys want to do?

SPEAKER_00

What would you like?

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, what would you like, us? Uh, the manifest of monsters.

SPEAKER_01

You want the manifest of monsters. So as of right now, the current rankings on the manifest of monsters. Yep. At the bottom at number 10, we have the eight man. Yep. Then at nine, we have the Vasquez Castle Ghost. Yep. Number eight is the Black Knight Ghost. Seven is Minor 49er. Six is the Indian Witch Doctor. Number five is Captain Cutler. Four is Charlie the Robot. Then at three we have the ghost clown. Yep. Two is Pietro the Puppet Master. Yep. And that currently the number one ghost is the ghost of Elias Kingston for his spectacular skills at grabbing shades off screen.

SPEAKER_03

Definitely spectacular skills on that one. Yep.

SPEAKER_00

On the grabbing or the lack of grabbing, I would have to say that Frankenstein's monster would have to be at the end or very close.

SPEAKER_02

Considering he had Scooby trapped and pushed him away. And then starts chasing. And then chasing chasing.

SPEAKER_01

Is he didn't even trap Scooby? Shake he trapped. He trapped it for him. He had Scooby handed to him on a silver gurney. Silver Gurney, practically. Yep. So yeah. Frankenstein's monster, yeah. He's probably below the eight-man. Yep, he's a number 11.

SPEAKER_00

The costume is more creative. Right. But the lack of brains included in the costume. It's not a good one.

SPEAKER_03

We don't want to. Keeping him lower on the list. Oh man.

SPEAKER_01

Alright. Where would we put the werewolf?

SPEAKER_03

Oh, that's a good one.

SPEAKER_00

It is a good costume. Very creative, for sure.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah. Mm-hmm. Also, he's not like he doesn't, he actually has some sort of brain.

SPEAKER_00

He was smart enough to get out of the way when the formula went bad.

SPEAKER_01

He's definitely up there.

SPEAKER_03

Um I mean, he's gonna still somewhat be lower because he's not as good as the vampire, so the vampire is higher up than the werewolf.

SPEAKER_00

Well, let's where are we gonna put the vampire though?

SPEAKER_03

That's a good question.

SPEAKER_00

The vampire, I think, would be pretty close to the top.

SPEAKER_03

Right, but he's uh we have to figure out who he's not as good at. We definitely know he's not as good as Kingston. We definitely no one's as good as Kingston yet. We definitely have proven that one.

SPEAKER_01

But is the vampire better than Pietro the puppet master?

SPEAKER_03

Oh, that is true, because he knew the place and he kept dropping everything on people. He was really vicious. He was destructive. He was pretty mad with them.

SPEAKER_00

But the vampire did know the castle pretty well.

SPEAKER_03

That is true. He probably knew it best of all.

SPEAKER_00

I mean He knew how to escape through that casket, however, he managed to do that.

SPEAKER_03

I mean, he's probably definitely before the before the clown, at least.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, I'd say the vampire was definitely above the ghost clown.

SPEAKER_03

I would say that too.

SPEAKER_01

Yep. Although the vampire did capture Daphne.

SPEAKER_03

That is true. He did capture Daphne. That is true. So two? Two? Alright. Alright. Alright. So the werewolf. The werewolf. He's gotta be like in the middle. Maybe like the middle or close further from the Frankenstein, but not closer to the first.

SPEAKER_01

Do we think the werewolf is better than Captain Cutler?

SPEAKER_00

But that's a tough one.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, it is, isn't it?

SPEAKER_02

Also, he could get better as because there's more episodes with the werewolf.

SPEAKER_01

So I think the next time we do see the were a werewolf in Scooby, it's the same as it is.

SPEAKER_03

Almost, yeah.

SPEAKER_00

So I guess I'm gonna say he's probably right before or right after Captain Cutler. Because I think he's very much on that level.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, I don't think he is.

SPEAKER_00

It's just a matter of is he blow or is he above?

SPEAKER_03

Something like that. Hmm.

SPEAKER_00

I almost think he's above.

SPEAKER_03

He's above. You want to put him above? Yeah. I mean, yeah, if you want to do. Yeah, I guess we can put above.

SPEAKER_00

I would agree. And going knowing what episode is coming up with him, I think that episode would put him above anyway. Right, yep.

SPEAKER_01

Yep. Now, do we want to put the fortune teller onto the manifesto monsters?

SPEAKER_00

Do we want to put I think the fortune teller would count.

SPEAKER_01

Okay. So we're now fortune teller doesn't do much.

SPEAKER_03

No, but she warns them that's all.

SPEAKER_00

And the fortune teller is the monster that gets caught.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah. Alright. I mean, I'd put her in between the werewolf and Frankenstein, I think. She'd be somewhere in between them. Yeah, I think.

SPEAKER_01

Somewhere between them, which is where So looking at what's there.

SPEAKER_03

Uh-huh.

SPEAKER_01

Above the Ape Man. Yeah.

SPEAKER_03

Definitely above me.

SPEAKER_01

The fortune teller is better than the Vasquez cast.

SPEAKER_03

Oh, I think so. I mean, they're kind of almost the same.

SPEAKER_00

I could see that probably either way.

SPEAKER_03

It's almost the same context almost.

SPEAKER_00

Although I'm gonna ask this, going with the Ape Man, is the fortune teller an actual fortune teller? Because then that's just the work outfit as well.

SPEAKER_03

Now we're getting really into the details here.

SPEAKER_01

No, because uh we know that it's Big Bob Oakley the actor.

SPEAKER_03

Okay, fair. Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Okay. So he's playing the fortune teller.

SPEAKER_00

Right, who does very eight-man was also an actor in the stuff. But I would say yes, above the eight-man still.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, yeah. Yeah, because I with the eight-man, like his actual job was an actor. I think here the actor is like nickname for the criminal. Sure.

SPEAKER_03

Right.

SPEAKER_01

Yep. Um he was the magician.

SPEAKER_03

Mm-hmm. He was a magician. Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Yep. Did a lot more than Fortune Hills. Fortune Home. Well, right.

SPEAKER_03

Right.

SPEAKER_00

Of course, Fortune Teller obviously didn't have much of a role because there were three other monsters.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah. Right.

SPEAKER_00

So I would say maybe below the ghost and above the ape man. Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Yep. Okay. Yeah, because right above the ghost is the black knight ghost, and not gonna touch that.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, not gonna touch that one.

SPEAKER_00

Not with the fortune teller.

SPEAKER_03

No, definitely not.

SPEAKER_01

You just added four more spots to the four monsters. One episode.

SPEAKER_03

One episode. Well, there's four different parts, so what makes it four monsters and one Scooby Stick. That's a lot.

SPEAKER_01

Only one Scooby Space. I don't think we get another episode with this many monsters.

SPEAKER_03

At least not four. Yeah. No. Definitely not. I don't think so.

SPEAKER_01

Oh man. Now the nice fun Fred Jones failure files. Oh, yep. Failure files. Alright. Our current listing of traps is at number 10. We have the giant slide from Never Eight the Night Man. Yep. Nine is the instant suds that they use to catch Captain Cutler before try to before Scooby decided to hit him by the boat. Yep. Eight is just the stampede of dogs. Yep. Seventh is the biplane. Scooby decided to run into the Black Knight.

SPEAKER_00

That he commandeered for a museum.

SPEAKER_03

Yep, that surprisingly still had oil and gas in it to be running, and it surprisingly still worked.

SPEAKER_01

Well, they will have enough room to get some lift under the window. Right. How would that do it?

SPEAKER_03

Yep.

SPEAKER_01

Number six is the fake train. Yep. Mm-hmm. Five is just the random drum and tuba that they caught Pietra the puppet master in after he fell from some scaffolding. Yep. With the drum already broken in the mix.

SPEAKER_03

Shanginus dropped tube on him.

SPEAKER_01

That's just how that one worked. Four is the giant crate and giant magnet. Yep. That were used to try and catch Charlie the robot, but failed because sabotage. Sabotage. Knowing they were dealing with a robot. Nope, that too. Number three is the mirror that Shaggy used to stop the postclub.

SPEAKER_03

Yep, that was pretty effective.

SPEAKER_01

Number two is just the special effects nonsense that they pulled off for to catch a lice kingston. Lice Kingston. And still currently the best trap offer is the Rube Goldberg nonsense. That's the better trap from Hassel in the Castle.

SPEAKER_03

No, nothing has beaten that one yet. Oh, that's the best one ever.

SPEAKER_00

But we got a few traps in it. We do a traps.

SPEAKER_03

We got three traps. Oh, that's right. Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Well, we'll see where they I think we should first start with the tapestry. Because I think that's the weakest of the three that we see.

SPEAKER_00

But it was the most ineffective for sure.

SPEAKER_01

Right. It basically gave the ghost what it wanted.

SPEAKER_03

What he wanted.

SPEAKER_01

Yep.

SPEAKER_03

I'm now how bad do we think that is? Looking at all the ones.

SPEAKER_01

Do we think it's better than the giant slide?

SPEAKER_03

I mean, the giant slide, even though it sucked, it actually still worked versus the other one that did not.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_03

So that it might actually work.

SPEAKER_00

So I guess you have to take effectiveness into account.

SPEAKER_03

You don't it doesn't work. It does didn't even stop him. So if I would be below the slide.

SPEAKER_01

So today we learned that Shane is both an expert at traffic and an expert at not tracking.

SPEAKER_02

We never threw this out effectively. Also a scientist, a mad scientist. Yes. He also is a mad scientist.

SPEAKER_01

That is also true. Um now do we want the chandelier or the higher strength patch? Oh.

SPEAKER_03

Hmm. Good question. Stop that, you mutt. You mutt.

SPEAKER_00

Well, both were very effective.

SPEAKER_03

They both actually were very effective, but which was more effective than the other one.

SPEAKER_00

Well, we don't know how or when the werewolf got out of the chandelier.

SPEAKER_03

That is true. And how long that held them down. Because it had to be a pretty heavy chandelier.

SPEAKER_01

Trying to think. Thinking back, when we saw the werewolf again, which was after the Did we see him in between trapping him with the chandelier and him popping out of the Mad Science?

SPEAKER_00

I don't think we did.

SPEAKER_01

So it was wild actually. So I almost say the chandelier is the best trap an episode, I would agree. Yeah. So that one. Now, do we think that's better than the special effects nonsense?

SPEAKER_03

Oh man, that's special effects did it too.

SPEAKER_01

That was almost perfect. Like there was no issues with that.

SPEAKER_03

There were no issues with that one. Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

I guess the only issue with the chandelier was Shaggy did not think through how he was gonna get back down.

SPEAKER_01

That is true.

SPEAKER_00

So I suppose we could put it lower for that reason. Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, I suppose. Do we think it's better than just Shaggy using a mirror to stop a hypnotizing ghost one?

SPEAKER_00

I think it I'd say I think it's more creative than a mirror.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah. Yeah. Yeah, I'd say it's probably better than the mirror. But not better than special.

SPEAKER_00

Because he did actually trap the werewolf.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_03

That's true. Alright, now we gotta tying up the vampire and throwing him into the dungeon. Yep.

SPEAKER_01

Alright.

SPEAKER_00

Um well it was effective.

SPEAKER_01

It was effective. Yep. Uh do we think it's better than the fake train?

SPEAKER_00

I did enjoy the fake train.

SPEAKER_01

Fake train is very enjoyable.

SPEAKER_00

It is an iconic train.

SPEAKER_03

It is. Yeah, that is true.

SPEAKER_00

So, for nostalgic purposes, I would say the fake train is better, but I really like fake train.

SPEAKER_03

Right, yeah, definitely one of the better ones.

SPEAKER_01

Because above the fake train, we have the drug and the tuba.

SPEAKER_03

Right, and that's just Shaggy dropping a tuba on him. I mean I mean, yeah, just trapping him in a tuba. Right, that one doesn't really take that much skill versus Scooby actually going through and tying him up, you know, around and such. You know.

SPEAKER_02

Also, we don't know how many times he tied it around his leg. Yeah. Right. Quite a few times.

SPEAKER_01

You got the cream magnet.

SPEAKER_03

I don't think it's better than that. No, I don't think it's better than that. So it's around five and six, around the drum set and the fake train. I'd say it's around that. If we can agree, I think it's at least within that frame. Okay. In between them, at least, first where do you want to put it is another question. You got quite a few options to put it in there, but what's it?

SPEAKER_01

Why did we put fake tree below the drum and tuba? Thinking that the biggest one.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, that's what I was wondering.

SPEAKER_01

I think it is a sense of tuba.

SPEAKER_03

Oh, because Scooby chased after him was actually able to get him down. And we essentially trapped him versus the fake tree. We did trap him, but yet just because he's hanging off a cliff doesn't mean that we trapped him. Okay. That sounds like a pretty good pretty good option there.

SPEAKER_01

Alright, so then I think all that's left is we have to give this a remote.

SPEAKER_03

We have to rate this episode to other people to help us rate this one. So that's gonna be interesting.

SPEAKER_01

So on a five-point scale, with one being the worst, five being the best, how many Scooby snacks do you think this episode is worth?

SPEAKER_03

Oh boy. We're gonna rate this one.

SPEAKER_00

I would say it has to be considering the multitude of traps and the multitude of monsters.

SPEAKER_01

Yep.

SPEAKER_00

Um I would have to put it a four.

SPEAKER_01

Okay, yeah, I think to me the lowest that one could get is a four, in my opinion. I would agree, yes.

SPEAKER_02

I was Oh, go ahead. I thought it would be either like three or four. So yes, I would agree with that.

SPEAKER_00

Okay.

SPEAKER_03

Alright, yeah, we can rate it, I suppose, as a four if we want, unless we want it higher up than that, too.

SPEAKER_00

I think it depends how there's an argument that can be made for five for sure.

SPEAKER_03

Right, or in between, like 4.5 or something like that, you know, yeah in the middle.

SPEAKER_01

This is like this is a good episode. Like I'm surprised this wasn't featured on a lot more of the compilation VHS tapes or a where it was like a chunk of episodes.

SPEAKER_03

Right. You're surprised this one didn't make it to one of them.

SPEAKER_01

Like, why was this one not on Greatest Mysteries?

SPEAKER_03

Right, yeah. Yeah, definitely. There could definitely move another one, other ones out of it, put that one there, but they didn't ask us at least. They didn't ask the fans where they wanted them to go.

SPEAKER_01

Well, yeah, like yeah, the few things that I think that this episode is like really missing are stuff that hasn't really been established. Like, no, could have easily been like a really nice musical chase number.

SPEAKER_03

There could have been, but that's those come up later into the series, which they're surprising that they're not in more of them than we've noticed, which is weird.

SPEAKER_01

We'll get them by when we get to episode 18.

SPEAKER_03

So right. Yeah, we'll get that.

SPEAKER_00

I think that piece missing that is what's not giving it a five.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah. Right.

SPEAKER_01

Because you'd think that that would be it's that we got the quick change costumes. Yeah, we did.

SPEAKER_03

That was interesting. Yeah, that would that had to be.

SPEAKER_01

Oh, yeah, I'll have to start making up the list for the cowards costume compendium with a suit of armor.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, definitely a lot of yeah, one spoofie on that one, definitely.

SPEAKER_01

Which those are gonna be fun when we get more of those.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, those will definitely be more fun when we get that far.

SPEAKER_01

Um yeah, you know, I think a nice, you know, good four. I think so.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, good four.

SPEAKER_01

Just yeah, the few things it's missing that's keeping that from a good, nice five, but yeah, but you know, we'll we'll get there.

SPEAKER_03

We'll get there eventually. We gotta episodes to go that could be a five.

SPEAKER_01

We just gotta get there. And you know, surprisingly, like we've had nothing lower than a three, so yeah, right.

SPEAKER_00

That was well, it is Scooby-Doo.

SPEAKER_01

Yes, we do.

SPEAKER_03

They're all pretty good episodes.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, I'm actually gonna be really surprised when we finally do get to an episode that's a two.

SPEAKER_03

Right? Yeah, it's definitely gonna be something. Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

But so I think that just about wraps this up. I think so too. Uh Gus Pierce, thank you for being here. Yes, thank you. Thank you for having us on.

SPEAKER_03

Of course. We always look forward to having our fans on, even though our super fans. Our super fans.

SPEAKER_01

Um glad you guys are enjoying the podcast. Yes, we are very glad. Definitely. You can't tell, we have no clue what we're doing.

SPEAKER_03

Come on, we have some clue. We're getting there.

SPEAKER_01

Um we're having fun. Yes, we're definitely having fun. That is definitely true. So, um, we'll Katie and I for sure will be back next week. Definitely we'll be back. Episode 12, Scooby-Doo and a Mummy 2.

SPEAKER_03

And a Mummy 2. Yep.

SPEAKER_01

So that's another good fun episode, if I remember.

SPEAKER_03

That's a very good fun episode. Yep, that'll be a good one to watch. I think we'll get some more shaggy expertise and some good Scooby action, too.

SPEAKER_01

So, you know, we'll be back next time. Yep, back next time. Until then, remember, they would have gotten away with it too. If it weren't for those meddling kids.
