SPEAKER_00

I feel like it's gonna be a good one.

SPEAKER_01

So do you think Velma's the one who tells the ghost ship to go away?

SPEAKER_00

She might. I mean, with her side telling everything else to go away. Or stop that. Yep. You know, she's you know, she's getting pretty vocal with Although she didn't tell the witch to go away last. No, but she told the zombie to go away. No, she told the mummy. She told the mommy to go away. She didn't say anything to the Yeah. Yeah, right?

SPEAKER_01

Oh boy. Uh-huh. Ghost ships.

SPEAKER_00

Don't like them.

SPEAKER_01

Nope.

SPEAKER_00

Nope. We definitely don't. For more reason more than one reason, more than one. Uh-huh.

unknown

Definitely.

SPEAKER_00

They're kind of spooky. Yeah, and they're they also could be cursed and all that stuff. You know, it could be And they've got pirates.

SPEAKER_01

And if there's one thing I've learned in life, pirates lead to cat creatures, which lead to zombies.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. Yeah, I suppose somehow that works like that.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

Oh, okay. All right.

SPEAKER_01

You guys can go ahead and email us any comments, questions, whatever you want to email us about to Scooby's own podcast at gmail.com. Right. You know, we would love to hear from you guys. Right.

SPEAKER_00

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. Leave a review on, you know, Apple or Spotify or YouTube. Wherever you're listening to us, you know.

SPEAKER_00

Right.

SPEAKER_01

Leave us a comment, leave us a review, you know.

SPEAKER_00

A rating, however they do that. You know, give us something. You know, we want to do it.

SPEAKER_01

It helps it be it helps make it more easy for other people to discover us. Yep. Right. You know, so we can get more listeners, but you know, we do appreciate the listeners that we do have currently.

SPEAKER_00

Yes, oh, we definitely do. We've seen that before.

SPEAKER_01

Yep. So to all of you listening to us, thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

SPEAKER_00

Yes, thank you very much. We appreciate it, and we want you to continue supporting us. You know, we lovers we we're here for your love and support. Yes. Um we felt it definitely.

SPEAKER_01

You know, I think the nice thing is you know, we are having fun with this.

SPEAKER_00

Yes, that is definitely the best part.

SPEAKER_01

This is very much a passion project for us.

SPEAKER_00

Yes, so definitely, you know.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. No matter what which way things go, whether you know, not saying I want you guys to stop listening. No, we definitely don't stop listening to us.

SPEAKER_00

Don't please don't stop listening to us.

SPEAKER_01

But I feel like even if you guys weren't listening, I still feel like we would be doing this.

SPEAKER_00

Right. Yep. Just because we have the passion for it. I mean, who doesn't love a great date? You know, who doesn't like he's a lovable great date? Who doesn't love him, you know?

SPEAKER_01

Um but you know, go away, go ship, like yeah, go away, go ship. I remember this one from the VHS tape, Scooby-Doo's creepiest capers.

SPEAKER_00

Definitely.

SPEAKER_01

Although I don't recall this one being all that creepy.

SPEAKER_00

Definitely not creepy. So yeah, why would it be on? I guess we'll have to find that one.

SPEAKER_01

Although Hassle in the Castle was also on that VHS tape, and that one wasn't really all that creepy.

SPEAKER_00

No, that one should not have been on there. They should have put something else.

SPEAKER_01

But I believe that one had haunted house hang up and a night of rate is no delight, which those two belong on there at least.

SPEAKER_00

But, you know, not the other two, but you know, I mean again, they didn't.

SPEAKER_01

I don't know what other episodes would have been creepy enough to be on there from Where Are You?

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Which is, you know, considering we've been we're more than halfway through.

SPEAKER_00

Right, exactly. Well, maybe the ghost clown could have been on there. Sorry, I didn't know.

SPEAKER_01

I can't help it that ghost clowns are creepy.

SPEAKER_00

Well, no, but I mean I'm just saying. Yeah, I know.

SPEAKER_01

Pennywise.

SPEAKER_00

Uh-huh.

SPEAKER_01

Joker.

SPEAKER_00

Well, it depends on the Joker, because the Joker that's in the Scooby-Doo movies, he's he's funny. He's hilarious.

SPEAKER_01

Still creepy looking.

SPEAKER_00

Uh yeah, I suppose. Especially when he's his lips are moving.

SPEAKER_01

Like honestly, I think the only I think the only Joker design that I have seen. Yep. Not counting some of his comic designs because you know comics, like you know, it's all dependent on yeah. Like, so in terms of like movies and TV shows, like I think the only one that I have not found like kind of any sort of like creepy factor to was Caesar Romero's Joker.

unknown

Okay.

SPEAKER_01

From the 60s.

SPEAKER_00

Okay.

SPEAKER_01

You know, he had more of a comedic look to him. But like every other Joker sense, like I've always set like a more like sinister, creepy looking.

SPEAKER_00

Right.

SPEAKER_01

You know, you know, outside of Mark Hamill's phenomenal joker. Oh, I know. That was the best. I think for me the best joker is uh Jack Nicholson.

SPEAKER_00

I don't know.

SPEAKER_01

From the Tim Burton films.

SPEAKER_00

Well, I don't know. I I still think Mark Hamill is probably one of the best.

SPEAKER_01

I mean Mark Hamill, like you can't beat Mark Hamill, though.

SPEAKER_00

No, you definitely can't.

SPEAKER_01

He's like the definitive voice of the Joker.

SPEAKER_00

Joker. Right.

SPEAKER_01

I read I read any comic that Joker pops up in like it's Mark Hamill's voice. I'm hearing in my head. And he's cackling here, kind of like with Kevin Conroy's Batman voice.

SPEAKER_00

Oh, I know. Those two go hand in hand. You have you can't have it without each other, they both are in it together.

SPEAKER_01

I mean, I will say the the entirety of the voice casts for the entirety of the DC animated universe was so spot on for every single character. Right. It was perfect.

SPEAKER_00

I mean, I couldn't have thought of people.

SPEAKER_01

It was perfect across the board for Batman the Animated Series and Superman the Animated Series and Justice League, like you know, those voices I believe are just so iconic.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, indefinite. Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Um, just like how with Scooby, like I pick up a Scooby comic to read. Yep. You know, it is Casey Kasim's voice I hear. It is Don Messick's voice I hear. It is Frank Welker's voice you hear. Well, as Fred.

SPEAKER_00

He's always been Fred, so he's but you know, well, technically, no, he hasn't been Fred. There is one movie where he hasn't been Fred, but yet, you know, we're not gonna get into that very.

SPEAKER_01

We're not there yet.

SPEAKER_00

Well, I don't know if I want to get there. I've never seen the movie now. I don't know if I want to see it.

SPEAKER_01

Eventually we'll have to get to it.

SPEAKER_00

I guess eventually.

SPEAKER_01

And we're gonna cover everything every main scoopy thing for sure.

SPEAKER_00

I suppose. Yeah. Regrettably.

SPEAKER_01

You know. At this point, I think I it's almost Grey Delisle's voice I hear for Daphne. I think she's done it like more consistently. Not although. Yeah, it's been a while since I've heard Heather North's voice.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

But we'll be getting to that pretty soon.

SPEAKER_00

Right, yep.

SPEAKER_01

And Velma's been quite a few different ones. Yeah. I think for me the most consistent one was Mindy Cohn.

SPEAKER_00

I think so too.

SPEAKER_01

That I remember hearing a lot. Definitely. In the what's new era. And I believe she does voice film in Mystery Incorporated yet.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, for a bit of it, a couple seasons of it, I think she does it. Yeah. Yeah. Or at least one of them, at least the first season. Then it gets all messed up after that.

SPEAKER_01

Uh-huh.

SPEAKER_00

You know.

SPEAKER_01

But you know, but yeah, like, you know, the fact that Casey Kasem's voice as shaggy is just so iconic.

SPEAKER_00

Oh, I know.

SPEAKER_01

You know, nothing against Matthew Lillard.

SPEAKER_00

No, but he's more he was more perfect for the live action. He did so well for that, but it's like he's I mean, he's good at Shaggy cartoon-wise, but yet no one can be Casey Case. I'm glad we have Mark Matthew to do it. But I mean, the only person who stands up toe-to-toe with Casey is the ones, the one who did it during the movie era in the early 2000s. That's the only one that can stand up, you know, where I didn't even know it wasn't Casey until just recently, where I looked at the the cast and I'm like, Casey isn't shaggy? What what happened then also? I mean, I didn't know anything what happened there, but you know.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. In my opinion, it was a lot of nonsense, but it was I agree.

SPEAKER_00

It was definitely a lot of nonsense.

SPEAKER_01

But I didn't know we will talk more about that when we get to those movies. That time point. Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

Yep. No, I agree. Definitely.

SPEAKER_01

You know, kind of like how, you know, when we did our first episode, we went over, like, you know, the voice cast that we haven't since. Yep. And, you know, I we most likely won't until there is a cast changeup, which I believe, I believe which I think is season two of Where Are You? When Heather North then starts voicing Daphne. Yep.

SPEAKER_02

Mm-hmm.

SPEAKER_01

But anyways, uh, we're starting to get off topic. Yes, I guess we are. So you guys. Right. So let's get back to our train of thoughts. Our train of thought episode. You know, we're gonna go venture onto this ghost ship and look for some clues.

SPEAKER_00

We'll be right back, guys.

SPEAKER_01

You know, you guys can too. Every episode is DVD, Blu-ray, and VHS if you still have those guys, you know. Yep. You know, available digitally on Fandango, which used to be Voodoo. It's available on Amazon Prime for purchase.

SPEAKER_00

And it's still on Tubi, definitely.

SPEAKER_01

Yep. So, you know, you guys can go ahead and watch it. We'll split up, look for clues. We'll be right back. And we're back. That was go away, ghost ship, and boy, did the ghost ship sure go away.

SPEAKER_00

It sure did, but it wasn't Velma yelling at the ship to go away. She never did that this round. No, she did not.

SPEAKER_01

Think she finally learned her lesson?

SPEAKER_00

I I think she did. I I certainly hope she did, you know.

SPEAKER_01

Right. All right. Whoops. So let's go ahead and start from the top. Yeah, start from the top, guys. All right. We open up on a uh freighter and you know, cruising down the sea. Yep. And the captain is on deck peering into his binoculars where he catches sight of a ghostly pirate ship and the ghost of the captain Redbeard.

SPEAKER_00

Uh-oh, who's laughing hysterically for some reason. Yeah. I don't understand why he's laughing so hysterically. That doesn't mean I mean he's a happy pirate. I don't know if he's I don't know if it's a happy laugh or if it's cynical. I don't know. He's just laughing.

SPEAKER_01

Only he knows.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, right.

SPEAKER_01

You know.

SPEAKER_00

The ghost does know that.

SPEAKER_01

We then go to the malt shop the next morning.

SPEAKER_00

Iconic malt shop.

SPEAKER_01

You know, you know, the Scooby Gane is there. Fred's reading the paper about how the ghost of Redbeard the Pirate has been hijacking freighters that are owned by C. L. Magnus. Oh, okay. You know. They're, you know, they figure, like, hey, maybe we should go talk to him, see what's up. Right. For some reason, Fred, who is sitting between Shaggy and Velma, his drink has two straws in it.

SPEAKER_00

Yes.

SPEAKER_01

Why does it have one next to him, one more on Scooby's side? Scooby's side.

SPEAKER_00

Yep.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, that's something I found interesting. Right.

SPEAKER_00

I mean, they that seems like a weird, weird setup. Because why would Scooby be sitting by Fred when he should really be sitting by unless they did it for for the sandwich, because Scooby would have been on the opposite side and you have to yank it. I mean, I don't.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, I don't know. It doesn't make any sense. Shaggy is making a super duper sandwich that he ties down so it's bite-sized, asks Scooby to help hold it down while he's tying his the string and Scooby snatches it away through the string.

SPEAKER_00

He realizes, hey, he's got the he's got the string and he yanks it back and enjoys it for himself. And Shaggy's like, what happened?

SPEAKER_01

Well, they go off to see Ciel Magnus, but get stopped by his creepy butler.

SPEAKER_00

Butlers, why are they always so creepy? That doesn't Why can't you have a good-looking butler instead of a creepy one? It doesn't make any sense. Apparently.

SPEAKER_01

Velma's dressed as a maid, Shaggy a chef. You know, they get in saying room service, breakfast is served.

SPEAKER_00

At 11 o'clock at night. Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Because then you don't have to get up in the morning to eat it. How does this make any sense? It makes perfect sense. At least for the people who have second breakfast. I can see Shaggy with the diet of a hobbit. That is true.

SPEAKER_00

That poor Legolas is sitting there, hmm. A little crumb is like something like a little crumb is good enough for the stomach of a and they're like, How many did you have? I had two, and the other's like, I had four. It's like two whoops. It was something weird how he said it, but well, let's get past it.

SPEAKER_01

You know, they trip over something. A bear rug. Yeah. It's a bear rug, I think. And they, you know, they crash, you know, they're all out. CL Magnus wants to know what's going on, and Daphne says, Would you believe we're here to help?

SPEAKER_00

Like good Samaritan Joe's.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. Yep. You know, so he tells them how, you know, the ghost of Redbeard is hijacking his ships. I believe it had something to do with what? His great-great-grandfather. Oh, yeah.

SPEAKER_00

Something within his family limb line or whatever that he upset the pirate or something or something.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, uh, one of his ancestors helped bring the dreaded pirate to justice.

SPEAKER_00

And he claimed he'd get come back for revenge or something. It's always something like that. They claim they'll be back for revenge.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. So, you know, the game, they head to the marina, they get a small little speed boat, hook it up with a tape recorder and a speaker. So when they go into the mysterious fog bank that the ghost ship appears in, they will switch on the tape recording to make the ghost ship think that they are the shipping trader.

SPEAKER_00

Yay.

SPEAKER_01

Well, their plan works too well. Um that, you know, it looks like the ghost ship is gonna ram them. Yep. Shaggy's told to put the boat into full speed reverse. Double full speed reverse. And he's such an expert at boating that the motor just flies off.

SPEAKER_00

Flies off.

SPEAKER_01

Leaving them stranded.

SPEAKER_00

Yep. And he's also an expert in paddling.

SPEAKER_01

Yep. Because he and Velma are paddling in opposite directions.

SPEAKER_00

So the boat's not moving. I'm paddling, I'm paddling, but I'm not getting anywhere. Me neither. Well, no duh, Velma.

SPEAKER_01

The ships collide. So the small speed boat is, you know, cut in half. Yep. Shag and Scoob swim to the pirate ship because they're not. Where else are you supposed to go? Right. Same time, Fred and the girls sneak onto the pirate ship from their end. Yep. Y'all. We follow Shaggy and Scooby. They're going through, find a picture of Redbeard the pirate. Scooby decides to draw some funny glasses on him.

SPEAKER_00

Draw some funny glasses on him.

SPEAKER_01

In which the pirate of Redbeard pulls the picture up like a curtain.

SPEAKER_00

A black curtain.

SPEAKER_01

And is there screaming at him? Yep. Starts chasing Shaggy and Scooby. Yep. Who run away just to come face to face with a ghost sword. Oh, yep. So I think Game Freak must have been watchers of Scooby-Doo.

SPEAKER_00

They must have been.

SPEAKER_01

I could see where this is the inspiration for the Pokemon Hone Edge.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. Yeah, that is true. Yep, most definitely.

SPEAKER_01

You know, it's a sword that's a ghost.

SPEAKER_00

Right? But does the ghost know that? That's the line we're gonna keep using, I think.

SPEAKER_01

Yep. You know, we cut to Fred and the girls. You know, they're walking through and suddenly starts getting really chilly.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, but it's not the ship that's giving you chills.

SPEAKER_01

It's tubs of dry ice.

SPEAKER_00

Right. What would that be doing on a ghost ship?

SPEAKER_01

Who knows? But before they can find out, they get locked in the room with the dry ice. That's gonna be a really cold room. We are now back to Shaggy and Scooby, who have run into the ghost of Redbeard and his two pirate henchmen. Not the brightest henchmen, but you know, Redbeard tells them that, you know, they're gonna walk the plank, but if they were useful, he'd keep them around. You know, Shaggy mentions that they're good cooks. Oh, good cooking. So now they have to cook for Redbeard.

SPEAKER_00

Redbeard. Great idea there.

SPEAKER_01

Which, you know, Shaggy with his expert chef knowledge. Yep. Because he is an expert chef.

SPEAKER_00

He is, especially when it comes to ghosts. He knows exactly what they want to eat.

SPEAKER_01

He decides, you know, he's gonna make some ghost pirate stew.

SPEAKER_00

Definitely. Some ghost pirate stew.

SPEAKER_01

And if you want to make your own ghost pirate stew, these are the ingredients you're going to do.

SPEAKER_00

These are the ingredients. All right.

SPEAKER_01

Gotta bring some seawater to a boil.

SPEAKER_00

Uh yes, I guess that would that would definitely wear out what other water would you get? Right.

SPEAKER_01

You know, because it's ghost pirate stew. If it was just ghost stew, you could use any water.

SPEAKER_00

Right, but it's ghost pirates do.

SPEAKER_01

So then you add in some chains.

SPEAKER_00

Yep, add in some chains. Ghosts like chains. Yes. For some reason they do. I don't know why they do.

SPEAKER_01

You know, one scoop of ashes from the stove. From the stove. I don't know how to use it. So you've got to be using a wood-burning stove. A couple of cobwebs. Couple, okay, a couple of cobwebs. Last but most important ingredients. Yes. Soap.

SPEAKER_00

Shakey hardly uses it himself. But why not? Oh yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Just for the record, guys, do not actually make that. I do not believe it is edible at all.

SPEAKER_00

I don't think so. You'll make a bubble. You'll make a bubble screen. You could get away from pirates if you're making actual pirates do that. It would be very helpful with that.

SPEAKER_01

Redbeard forces Shaggy and Scooby to eat it. Yep. In which they start gobbling it up because they're scared of being turned into ghosts.

SPEAKER_00

Well, they're being scared to walk off lock the plank.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. In which they hiccup. Yep. Find out the hey, bubbles.

SPEAKER_00

Bubbles. Let's bubble our way out of here.

SPEAKER_01

So, you know, they just make a torrent of bubbles so they can escape.

SPEAKER_00

Which apparently is effective because the ghosts now can't see that land as he'll freaking out.

SPEAKER_01

As they're going down a hallway, they see the two henchmen. Of course. So, gonna trick them. Right. Shaggy makes himself a paper pirate hat. And then using his super shaggy imitation of Redbeard. Which is apparently really good. Yeah. You know, convinces the henchmen to go the opposite direction.

SPEAKER_00

Get going, you swabs.

SPEAKER_01

You know.

SPEAKER_00

They went that away.

SPEAKER_01

In which Shaggy and Scooby then hide under a bucket. Yep. And are sneaking around on the floor, in which they end up going off the plank, anyways.

SPEAKER_00

Well, yeah, because sh they can't see where they're going. That's the only problem.

SPEAKER_01

So now they're out of one tub and into another. When Scooby's voice changes, sounds a lot like Velma.

SPEAKER_00

It does, doesn't it? I I didn't know he was an expert for Two Quest. Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

It's not Scooby.

SPEAKER_00

It's Velma.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

Sticking your head out of the ship.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

Which is that that could be your safety concern too. That could be another safety concern. Don't stick your head out of a ship, people.

SPEAKER_01

Basically, you know, telling Shaggy that, you know, they're locked in there. Come help them. Yep. When the ship, pirate ship starts moving.

SPEAKER_00

We'll save you. I think. I think.

SPEAKER_01

Shaggy and Scooby start paddling their little bucket boat.

SPEAKER_00

And they're paddling the right way. So the boat moves. So the little barrel moves. Exactly. You gotta do it the right way. And all in the same direction if you want to go somewhere. Right.

SPEAKER_01

No. It's following the ghost ship. Yep. Which is going into a secret cove in Skull Island.

SPEAKER_00

Why is everything on Scooby-Doo Skull Island? There's a lot. Why is Skull Island in like every like it's mentioned a lot where it's Skull Island, Skull Island.

SPEAKER_01

That is a good question.

SPEAKER_00

We might have to look into that, figure out what. I mean, that's in couple that's named in a couple episodes. Yeah. That it's Skull Island. It's like, what? Why is it why do they keep doing that? I don't know.

SPEAKER_01

As that's where as Shaggy and Scooby are following, they Scooby comes across a fake shark. Yeah, that's kind of lucky it wasn't a real shark.

SPEAKER_00

No, but still, and then it has the attitude of an actual stark, because it's it speeds away and sprays them with water. But then Shaggy yells at Scooby's that quit cloning around.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. You know. We cut to Fred and the girls where Redbeard the Pirate has them in chains. Yep. Says that soon they'll be a part of his ghostly crew. And he walks off. Huh. But he leaves the key in plain sight. Right. So Fred uses bits of straw and some chewing gum to pull the to pull the key to him.

SPEAKER_00

Where did he get the gum? And and the other thing. Where did he get the straws? Where did he get all the straws behind them?

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, there was a pile of straw that they were.

SPEAKER_00

Okay, but then how did he get the chewing gum when he wasn't chewing gum any other?

SPEAKER_01

Maybe it was in his pocket.

SPEAKER_00

It was in his pocket like that? Where it was half eaten already? It was half eaten. He looked like he pulled it out of his mouth with how it came down like that? How does that? I mean, they're scooby.

SPEAKER_01

I stopped trying to figure out Fred a long time ago.

SPEAKER_00

Oh, oh, just Fred. Oh.

SPEAKER_01

Ever since you know he had to come out of the closet. He doesn't come out of the closet like that. That's that sounds. He was in a closet and he came out. How else do you want me to phrase that?

SPEAKER_00

Well, that can mean a couple different things, how that's worded.

SPEAKER_01

I don't think so.

SPEAKER_00

Oh, I definitely do.

SPEAKER_01

Oh, we're getting cancelled for sure, aren't we?

SPEAKER_00

I hope not. I hope not. Okay, alright.

SPEAKER_01

You know, Fred and the girls escape.

SPEAKER_00

Yep.

SPEAKER_01

They go down a tunnel to find four more tunnels. Which way do they go?

SPEAKER_00

Mo.

SPEAKER_01

Moe?

SPEAKER_00

You know, ity, meeny, miny, mo. Okay.

SPEAKER_01

Moe it is. When Shaggy grabs Velma's shoulder. Yep.

SPEAKER_00

Ah!

SPEAKER_01

Fred's glad that they found them.

SPEAKER_00

Yep.

SPEAKER_01

You know, and Velma tells him to get rid of the ridiculous pirate hat that turns out to be the ship's manifest. Yep. Which I've heard of Man of War, but I've never heard of Manifest. Oh man. They follow down the tunnels to find tire tracks.

SPEAKER_00

Hmm. What would tire tracks be doing in a hidden cove?

SPEAKER_01

It just shows that the ghost drives a truck.

SPEAKER_00

Great. Now that we know the ghost drives a truck. So now here's a question.

SPEAKER_01

Okay. Is Redbeard the pirate a redneck pirate?

SPEAKER_00

Oh, he could be a redneck pirate. Definitely. Oh man.

SPEAKER_01

So you know, they follow the tire tracks all the way to a pirate chest. Yep. Where the tracks just disappear. So that means the truck's in the chest, right?

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. Where else would it be?

SPEAKER_01

Who knows? We open the chest to find a pirate skull. No truck.

SPEAKER_00

No truck. But he's asking for a password. Yeah. Whatever could the password be?

SPEAKER_01

Well, listeners, if you guessed that the password was yum yum yum and a liverworth a la mode, you guys are thinking on the same pattern as a shaggy and apparently the ghost.

SPEAKER_00

So it's not 16 men on a pirate ship? No.

SPEAKER_01

And it's not yo ho blow the man down. And it's not whatever Daphne was thinking it was going to be.

SPEAKER_00

I don't know what she was thinking.

SPEAKER_01

Kind of sad that we didn't get anything from her.

SPEAKER_00

I know. That would have been funny if we got something from her. But yet we didn't.

SPEAKER_01

No, the that is such a password.

SPEAKER_00

Wow, what a password.

SPEAKER_01

You know.

SPEAKER_00

Wow.

SPEAKER_01

The wall goes up.

SPEAKER_00

Yep.

SPEAKER_01

And the tire tracks continue.

SPEAKER_00

They lead right inside.

SPEAKER_01

Yep.

SPEAKER_00

Shaggy's expert pointing. Yes.

SPEAKER_01

We find out that this is where Redbeard has been storing all of the stolen cargo. Oh, okay. And it's where he will keep his secrets. Forever. Yep. Because Redbeard the pirate sees them and basically goes after them.

SPEAKER_00

Yep. Lower the iron doors and after them. Yep. Of course.

SPEAKER_01

They kind of all run off in different directions.

SPEAKER_00

Unfortunately, yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Shaggy and Scooby run back into the ghost sword. Oh, that again. They run into a big crate. Yep. That is, you know, full of Scooby snacks. Apparently, yeah, somehow it's full of Scooby snaps. Boxes of them. Boxes of them. Yep. So they take a box and they both start eating from it. Yep. Before they then burst out the top and run off.

SPEAKER_00

Yep.

SPEAKER_01

So they can add another 80 snacks to the snack.

SPEAKER_00

Yep, definitely. Wow. They both shared it equally this time. Yes. Which is good. They didn't try to steal it from each other. They both wanted to eat it. Yep.

SPEAKER_01

Yo. Shaggy comments how he needs a weapon to fight the sword with. Yep. This nightstick should do it.

SPEAKER_00

Nightstick.

SPEAKER_01

He sword fights the sword, and it turns out it's actually liverwurst.

SPEAKER_00

And that gets Scooby all excited. Yep. So he runs off and comes back with two pieces of bread.

SPEAKER_01

Yep.

SPEAKER_00

And gets a whole gets quite a few pieces of liverwurst. Closes it down. And it's delicious.

SPEAKER_01

Yep. You know, Shaggy then runs off. Scooby follows. Of course. Ghost Sword is chasing them before and then it gets stuck in a barrel.

SPEAKER_00

Oh, darn.

SPEAKER_01

Liquid is pouring out of the barrel. Yep. Shag and Scoob put some mugs to it. Don't know what they thought it was. Nope. But when they drink it, they find out that it's oil.

SPEAKER_00

There's your safety concern for the oil.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, don't drink oil, you guys.

SPEAKER_00

Don't confuse oil with whatever pirates would be drinking. Don't confuse it with oil. Alright, guys. Please don't. That's not gonna work the way you think it will. Right.

SPEAKER_01

With how it was running out of that barrel, like I wouldn't have thought it was anything drinkable.

SPEAKER_00

I wouldn't think so either.

SPEAKER_01

You know?

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

It was all kind of like sludgy looking.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. I suppose oil would look like that. It'd be more foamy if it was if it was, you know, like root beer or something. It'd be a lot more foamy. Yeah. You know, if that that definitely didn't happen here. Yeah. So it definitely wasn't anything drinkable. Right. Nothing for us to digest.

SPEAKER_01

No. Fred and the girls use some makeshift plunger arrows to trap the henchmen? Yeah, trap the henchmen and suspend them from the ceiling.

SPEAKER_00

Yep.

SPEAKER_01

How effective that is, I don't know, because we'll see them later trap pile of tires.

SPEAKER_00

Yep. Right. Unless their weight caused it to go down or something. Right. But that's it.

SPEAKER_01

Shaggy and Scooby are then confronted by Redbeard. Yep. Shaggy pulls out an egg beater.

SPEAKER_00

An egg beater.

SPEAKER_01

Yep. And uses it to tickle the pirate.

SPEAKER_00

Which apparently he's ticklish in the stomach.

SPEAKER_01

And then they plan to get away on an automatic pogo stick.

SPEAKER_00

It's not a pogo stick. It's not? No, it's not. Here's your safety. Here's your second safety card. It's not a pogo stick, it's a jackhammer.

SPEAKER_01

Oh boy. Well that's definitely a Shaggy is not Jack Hammer certified.

SPEAKER_00

It's not.

SPEAKER_01

They kind of go up a wall, onto the ceiling. Yep. They fall down. Uh-huh. Jackhammer lands in Redbeard's pants. Shaggy and Scooby land on top of Redbeard. And they end up going into a pile of tires.

SPEAKER_00

Well, at least it's a pile of tires. It won't be as painful when they hit the tires.

SPEAKER_01

Right.

SPEAKER_00

Well, that's quite an elaborate uh.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. Redbeard's captured. Unmask him to find it's CL Magnus.

SPEAKER_00

What? It's not the butler? No. How is it not the butler? Because Shaggy always thought like the butler always did it. Shaggy, that's racist against butlers.

SPEAKER_01

They are people too.

SPEAKER_00

Apparently not to him.

SPEAKER_01

You know, I'm just glad, you know. That could have been a whole lot worse if it was not a white butler.

SPEAKER_00

That could have been a lot worse. That could have been bad. Um man.

SPEAKER_01

You know, turns out that, you know, his shipping business was about to go under. Uh-oh. If he didn't come up with some money. So he used the disguise of Redbeard the Pirate to basically raid his own ships and sell the cargo on the side. Oh, that's definitely a bright idea. What could go wrong with that? Hey. You know, the ghost sword was operated by wires. And eerie, mysterious fog was made by dropping the dry ice off the side of the ship.

SPEAKER_00

Yep.

SPEAKER_01

You know. They have Scooby demonstrate that for the law enforcement officials that are there arresting the pirates. Right. And, you know, screen gets covered in a thick white fog. Yep. That Scooby cuts a donut shape out of, and then proceeds to eat it. Ending the episode.

SPEAKER_00

I don't know how tasty dry ice would be. I don't, but that's probably not. It's a dog and they'll eat practically anything, so you know, I'm not surprised that he likes the dry ice. You know, but I guess that's it is what it is.

SPEAKER_01

Right. But, you know, that brings us to the end of the episode.

SPEAKER_00

It does, doesn't it?

SPEAKER_01

Alright. Well, we have another 80 snacks for the snack total.

SPEAKER_00

Yes, we do.

SPEAKER_01

So I believe that now brings us to a total of 141 Scooby snacks.

SPEAKER_00

Oh, wow.

SPEAKER_01

One shaggy snack.

SPEAKER_00

And one and one hero sandwich. Yep.

SPEAKER_01

So doing the quick math that I can think of. Because this was what, episode 14? Yep. We are at approximately roughly 10 Scooby snacks per episode right now.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. Rep. I must have they must have done this before we were throwing in the boxes. They must have done this. They must have done this before the boxes came in because it must have done it when we got the five for episode. That must have been where that started because roughly. Yeah. Because it it doesn't work now.

SPEAKER_01

Or they are running off of different metrics for what they consider a box of Scooby Snack.

SPEAKER_00

Right, that could be too. It's just different from what we're using, but yet we don't have an actual Scooby snack box in order to run on. Right. So that's the other problem.

SPEAKER_02

Right.

SPEAKER_00

You know. But I don't know how we'd ever get one. You know, but Yeah. I mean, we could make one, but yet that's not gonna be the same effectiveness as actually having having one.

SPEAKER_01

You know, so but hey, we're we still have 11 episodes left of this series, you know. So we'll see how we'll see how long this goes on for.

SPEAKER_00

I th I I think it's at least one more time, but you know, we'll we'll see if my expertise is correct.

SPEAKER_01

And who knows, you know, maybe when we get to the end of Scooby-Doo, where are you, I'll recalculate the numbers, removing whole boxes and see what that number will come out to.

SPEAKER_00

Right.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, I don't know. I will say I don't know if I don't know if we will continue this going into the other shows.

SPEAKER_00

I don't know. I guess we'll have to see.

SPEAKER_01

This is getting crazy, you guys.

SPEAKER_00

I didn't think we would be adding in boxes for the few episodes that we were recording after we talked about the boxes. Yes, right. It's just funny how quickly they all have progressive, like, oh crap, now we have to add boxes into the scenario. Yeah. How's that gonna go?

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, I didn't think we would be seeing it until at least season two.

SPEAKER_00

I didn't. Apparently, we were wrong. Apparently, it was a lot sooner than we thought it was. Oh god.

SPEAKER_01

Alright.

SPEAKER_00

Okay.

SPEAKER_01

So that part of the fun responsibilities is done.

SPEAKER_00

It's done.

SPEAKER_01

That's always the simplest one.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, I suppose.

SPEAKER_01

Now for the more fun. Alright. Alright, where do we put Redbeard on the Manifest of Monsters? Oh, goodness. Alright, let's see. Alright. Um I guess talking about the Manifest of Monsters, you know. Yep. You know, it's getting pretty long. I don't think we'll keep reading that anymore. I don't think we'll keep reading that anymore. I don't Yeah, so alright. Okay. So where do you think he goes?

SPEAKER_00

Well I mean top half or bottom half? Probably still, I would say probably still top half. Okay. I mean, I am I wrong in a few. No, I he was an effective one. Right, he was effective, but yeah, the other thing is too, he you all he also changed outfits.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

I mean, we saw him in a robe, you know, but still he definitely did an outfit change, so that bumps that bumps him up than a lot. Bumps him up further than minor 49er, so he's at least in the top ten.

SPEAKER_01

In terms of uh in terms of seafaring ghosts, you know better or worse than Captain Cutler.

SPEAKER_00

Oh, I think he's better than Captain Cutler. Unless I'm wrong. No, I okay.

SPEAKER_01

You know, like honestly, I granted Captain Cutler didn't have henchmen or anything. No, but but you know, Redbeard did more than his henchmen did.

SPEAKER_00

He definitely did more than his henchmen did, which we won't be covering the henchmen, so sorry guys, this one will not be having more. Okay.

SPEAKER_01

Better or worse than Charlie the robot.

SPEAKER_00

I mean, I wanna say I mean I wanna say he's better, but that's just you know, that's just me. Better or worse than Pietro the Puppet Master. Oh, I mean, that's where it gets even tougher. I I I don't know. What do you what do you what do you think? I mean, I don't know if he is better than the puppet master. I mean it's what I mean it it's up to. He's better than the ghost clown. Well, right.

SPEAKER_01

He's so you want to put him below Pietro the Puppet Master.

SPEAKER_00

But above the ghost clown.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, so sitting now at number five, we've got Redbeard. Redbeard. I wonder if he's related to Red Herring.

SPEAKER_00

Oh no, not Red Herring. Maybe he's Red Herring's father.

SPEAKER_01

Maybe.

SPEAKER_00

Maybe.

SPEAKER_01

Alright. And so now that brings us to the Fred Jones failure files. Alright. Where would we put the automatic pogo stick?

SPEAKER_00

I mean, it is a hilarious one. It does work, but yet it was it's not like it's Is it better than the lawnmower basketball? I want to say it actually is. It's much more entertaining.

SPEAKER_01

Okay, is it better than the chandelier?

SPEAKER_00

Oh.

SPEAKER_01

That used to catch the werewolf.

SPEAKER_00

Right. I mean, that that I mean, like the higher you go, the more difficult it gets because we have such a higher standing of what the other ones were versus what the higher ones are. So, you know.

SPEAKER_01

Alright, do we think it's better than special effects? The special effect minds. I don't think that it is.

SPEAKER_00

I don't think so either. But it probably is, like you said, with how you said it, it probably is better than chandelier. I mean, unless you think differently.

SPEAKER_01

Like chandelier because that was meant in a way to be a trap. Like Shaggy's intention there was to trap the werewolf.

SPEAKER_00

Right, but he didn't think of a way out. So that was the other problem.

SPEAKER_01

The intention of the automatic pogo stick was to get away and just manage. So I think put it below chandelier for a love lawnmower best.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, I can I can agree. On a manic pogo stick. But it isn't a pogo stick. It's a but then we can call it a pogo stick.

SPEAKER_01

In terms of a trap, it was an automatic pogo stick.

SPEAKER_00

It was pretty, it was pretty effective, actually. So, you know, that's where I'm like, yeah, it's better it's better than the lawnmower. More entertaining than the lawnmower. Yeah. Now they're all bouncing around. They're going up onto the ceiling, then they plop down right under the ghost.

SPEAKER_01

Alright, so now that brings us to the table of snacks. Oh man, let's see. So, how many Scooby snacks does this episode bring to the table this week?

SPEAKER_00

I mean, it is a very, very entertaining episode. I mean, I mean, I would say at least four or upper, I mean, middle four, four or middle four. Like either four or four point five, unless you want to meet up in the middle.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, we can give it a four.

SPEAKER_00

Like a four. Yeah. Okay.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

We're giving a lot of these four. I mean, they're not.

SPEAKER_01

And I don't know if we're being too harsh on okay. No, it's like I don't think we're being too generous. Like I don't think we've like I don't think we've had any terrible episodes.

SPEAKER_00

That we haven't ranked properly. It's like we've got Tassel was three because it was three.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, we've had like average episodes.

SPEAKER_00

Right.

SPEAKER_01

I think a lot of the episodes we have have been above average.

SPEAKER_00

Right.

SPEAKER_01

And you know, I I could see an argument where some of these probably are like extremely excellent.

SPEAKER_00

Right.

SPEAKER_01

But because like there's stuff we know comes later that we just don't have, like we're a little too harsh on them.

SPEAKER_00

Right. Yeah. More ways than one.

SPEAKER_01

But no, like, yeah, I think this is a nice above average episode.

SPEAKER_00

I think so too.

SPEAKER_01

I don't I don't think there's anything like even with like a musical chasing number or a couple of things.

SPEAKER_00

We'll get to that later on.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, I don't think that I don't think that we really would have bumped this up any higher.

SPEAKER_00

I don't yeah, I don't think so either.

SPEAKER_01

So yeah, sitting at a nice solid four for this week.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, I definitely agree with that one.

SPEAKER_01

Alright. That I believe just about wraps up this episode.

SPEAKER_00

I think you're right on that one.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. Nice solid episode.

SPEAKER_00

That definitely was a solid one. Pretty good.

SPEAKER_01

So we'll be back next week with Spooky Space Kook.

SPEAKER_00

And this one is your favorite. It is my favorite. It'll be excited. Exciting to see how this one unfolds. Yes. Yes, it definitely is one of your favorites. It'll be interesting to see how it goes on with this one and see how far this one goes.

SPEAKER_01

Well, it's it'll be interesting.

SPEAKER_00

Yep.

SPEAKER_01

Because in my head right now, uh huh, I already know what I want to say it brings to the snack table.

SPEAKER_00

Okay. Yeah. Yep.

SPEAKER_01

So it'll be interesting next week to see if that preconceived notion will still hold up.

SPEAKER_00

Right. Yep, we'll have to wait and see, I guess.

SPEAKER_01

Because yeah, it's been, you know, it's been a while since I've watched these episodes. You know.

SPEAKER_00

I could say the same.

SPEAKER_01

And that's what makes this great.

SPEAKER_00

It does, apparently. One watches it more than the other one.

SPEAKER_01

Well, I it's it's not that I don't watch Scooby outside of this.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. That's just what I mean.

SPEAKER_01

One No, I think, you know, I thought it would be nice to at least have one of us kind of go in almost relatively fresh.

SPEAKER_00

Well, yeah, I I guess that apparently has to be me. Because apparently it's not you, because you only have it on when you're usually when it's something for your kids to watch, but yet you're not watching it yourself, technically.

SPEAKER_01

Yep, we'll be back. You know, remember like, subscribe, review, comment, please. Give us feedback, email us Scooby's own podcast at gmail.com. Yep. You know, we'd love to hear from you guys. Definitely would. But until then, just remember, they would have gotten away with it too. If it weren't for those meddling kids.
