One year later. The world has moved on. Marcus Voss is a fading headline, a trivia question. But for some, the echo of his crimes remains.

Sheila lives in a small coastal town in Oregon, working at a local diner, living a quiet life above a bookstore. She walks on the beach every morning and watches the sunrise. She still has nightmares sometimes. She still feels that cold warehouse. But then she wakes up. And she's free.

Then Agent Torres calls. There's a new case. It has Marcus Voss's signature all over it. But it's not him. It's someone he trained. A woman. And Torres needs someone who knows the game. Someone who can see the moves before they happen.

Sheila looks out at the ocean. At the endless horizon. She could say no. She could hang up the phone and go back to her quiet life. She had earned that peace. But she thinks about all the other Sheilas out there. The ones who didn't have a choice.

"Where do I start?"

One year later, the world has moved on. The name Marcus Voss is a fading headline, a trivia question. But for some, the echo of his crimes remains.

SPEAKER_00

I'm a survivor of Marcus Voss. For years I was ashamed. He took my business, and the courts blamed me. I lost my family, I almost lost myself. But then I saw what Sheila Thompson did. She fought back. She gave us a voice.

SPEAKER_01

This group, it's because of her. We are all here because she showed us we weren't alone. We're helping each other rebuild. We're helping the FBI identify other victims, other con men like Voss.

SPEAKER_02

In a quiet corner of the country, Sheila Thompson lives her simple life. She doesn't know about the support groups. She doesn't read the articles. She has found a fragile peace.

SPEAKER_03

I watch the sunrise. I never thought I'd see another one. It's funny. He tried to destroy me by taking my money. But money was the least valuable thing he took. My trust, my faith in people. That's what he really stole. And that's what I'm slowly, day by day, trying to earn back for myself.

SPEAKER_04

It's Rebecca Torres.

SPEAKER_03

Agent Torres.

SPEAKER_04

I'm sorry to bother you. I know you wanted to be left alone, but we have a situation. A new case. It has Boss's signature all over it, but it's not him. It's someone new. Someone he trained, we think. A woman.

SPEAKER_03

What do you need from me?

SPEAKER_04

We need someone who knows the game. Someone who can see the moves before they happen. We need you.

SPEAKER_03

I looked out at the ocean. At the endless horizon. I could say no. I could hang up the phone and go back to my quiet life. I had earned that peace. But I thought about all the other Sheilas out there. The other Patsys. The ones who didn't have a voice.
