Oh, well, we are kind of recording late this week. Bessie's, I apologize. Just like every there were so many things that come up in life, and you know, we you know how it goes. You didn't feel good a couple days. Yeah. And yesterday I did not feel well. Yeah. So I mean it's just going back and forth. And we can't record when we don't fucking feel well. Right, exactly. We sound like dummies. So anyway, I just wanted you had the last episode, not if you listen, if you did listen, didn't, but it was we're talking about toxic trades still. Yep, yep. And I had brought up this guy I was talking to on on, I think it was over text message. Yeah. And I had brought him up a couple of times because we had been talking for a couple weeks and we we had just never met up and it never worked out. Yep, yeah. So I ended up, we made a plan to meet for dinner, and honestly, it was a night that it was storming out, and we were expecting to get really big storms. And I I figured since he was driving two hours that he'd cancel. But no, he's like, I'm gonna come. And I'm like, okay, well, I guess I'll have to get in the shower and get all beefed. But no, we ended up meeting at, and I don't know if you recall besties, but we had a lot, we had a lot of reservations on this guy.

This is the guy that we talked about where he he had he only texted night, didn't text in the evening. All of his anytime we want to hook up was last minute. Yeah. He he most definitely had red flags. But I was on the I need a date tour. And you're trying to stay positive, you know? And I just can't go back. I can't keep going back because it's just gonna make me feel worse. Yeah. So I'm I'm giving this dude a fucking shot. And even even though there were some red flags, major ones there, major ones, but then again, you know, everybody has their faults.

We uh met at an establishment to eat, and it wasn't anything super fancy or anything, and he didn't get there, he didn't get in town until almost eight o'clock. That's right, because he was late. Yeah, because he didn't know if he was gonna come or not. And I honestly, I was just like, I don't go out at 8 p.m. Yeah on a weeknight. I don't, you're old. I'm just like, so can I wear pajamas to the restaurant? Because I if I'm not if I'm not out and about by a certain time, you ain't seeing me out and about. Yep, correct. Okay, Scarlett's staying in. But I did get all dressed up, you know. I wanted to make an impression. Yeah, you know, you looked nice, yeah. So he was already there when I showed up, and he he he was very good looking, like very tall and had uh tattoos, muscular arms. Okay, I mean, I could have fucked the shit out of this dude for sure. I mean, and not thought twice about it, but I didn't get that fucking chance. So we What happened? Oh my gosh, I know Ivy's heard this story so many times. So if if she doesn't chime in, that's why because she's already chimed in a million times. Because I I when something like that happens to me, I can't shut the fuck up about it. That's okay. That's okay. Let's let's tell the besties. Yeah, so anyway, we sat through dinner. I thought the conversation went great. I mean, I not like I I didn't think I was gonna be with this guy forever or anything, but I could have certainly fucked the shit out of it.

Just like my job, his job, the kit, his kids, I mean stuff we had talked about prior to. Okay, I don't think the conversation was anything that he would have it would have been a red flag for him. But I I guess I don't know. Okay, everybody's different, everybody sees things in a different way. And I mean, if you go back, besties, and think about that guy, think about that guy that I was like lazy eye, even though that's not why we just didn't have a connection. Yeah. So moving on, I know this is short story long. That's okay. So anyway, I we ate our dinner. I didn't think anything was out of the ordinary. What did you eat? Buffalo chicken salad. Okay, I believe. I didn't finish it. I don't what did he have? He had like a shrimp thing, okay shrimp and steak, maybe something like that. But I don't usually have you have you done this before? I don't I don't eat a lot on the first date.

I definitely scale back because well, it's not just I scale back, it's just because my nerves don't allow me to eat a lot, to be honest. So yeah, I can't eat a lot on a first date.

Yeah, so this is me going back to one of my first boyfriends. I had such a hard time eating in front of him. Really? I don't know what it was. I don't know if it was, it's obviously my insecurity of some kind. Okay, but it took me a long time. It was weird. Huh? I don't I don't know what was wrong with it. I don't think that you're the only one in this for sure. Yeah, I just didn't think want him to know. Like I scarf, I I would go home and scarf down food. I was so hungry. I was like, that wasn't enough. I mean, three bites of a salad. I'm like, oh my gosh, I'm starving. He probably was thinking the same thing. Probably. He's like, bitch, I know you eat more than that. Blew your butt. So anyway, oh, back to the story. I know what we get sidetracked so fucking easy. Back to the story. We uh the waitress, we paid the tab. I did not pay. He he paid the tab. You better have, yes. Yes, and but normally on a first date like that, if I try I offer and I don't mind splitting the bill if he drove all that way, you know what I mean. I even would have paid for it if I thought he was a decent human being. Yeah, but I didn't get any kind of vibe from him that I would possibly never see him again. I don't know. It okay, but I really didn't, and I'm not going to because besties, I uh went to the bathroom to just go to the bathroom.

He knew I was coming back. I said I was coming back. Okay. I'm like, I'll I'll be right back. And then, you know, if you want to do something after this. Okay, so you did say those words. Yes. So clearly he did not want to do anything. And so what did he say to you about if you want to do anything after this? He didn't he didn't really say anything. Okay. I mean, I just said those. I mean, I didn't wait for him to response. I went to the bathroom. Okay. And then I come out and he he's gone. He's gone. And I tried calling him. Either I was blocked or he just didn't answer. And then I text him and nothing. Crickets. Crickets. Fucking ghosted. Ghosted.

Oh, oh, most definitely fuck him. But as I've told you, it still did not make a difference on my insecurities I have. And well, I'm sure that was that's a very hard pill of the soul. Just happen. Yeah, and it's never happened to me before. And I of course, I mean, I don't know if anybody else would do this, but I came home and cried forever. Yeah. Like I was broken. I mean, I put myself out there to a douchebag that clearly was not mature enough to handle saying, hey, I don't like you. Yeah. Or there's I don't feel anything. And I'm I'm like, you are so ridiculous. I mean, even if he said goodnight and we never made plans, yeah, I would kid, I would get that hint too. Yeah. Something. Leaving me in a restaurant and leaving me questioning myself is not okay. Yeah, exactly. Because that's all I've been doing. And I mean, I've tapered off a little bit, but yeah, I I was like, okay, what did I fucking say? What what did I say? But I think that it's it's an understanding.

But like, especially when you feel that rejected, you know, you're gonna internalize that and be like, what the fuck did I say? What did I do? Like, why couldn't you have just said, hey, like you said, you know, some some kind of cool You fat bitch, or you I don't like your your eyes.

But what's weird about it too, though, when we discussed this, is that he was adamant on still coming. Like he said, even during the storm, he was, you know, hellbent on coming. And so for him just to, and he had said, Well, what else are we going to do? Because I'm not gonna drive that far just, and that was one of the red flat.

Oh, yeah, I should tell him that because earlier in the day we were texting and he we had made this plan for him to come. And he's like, Well, what if what were we gonna do? And I'm like, Well, we can go to dinner, maybe we can go. I don't know what we're gonna do. I I was like, whatever, it doesn't matter to me. He's like, Yeah, well, if I'm driving all that way for dinner, I don't know if I want to do that. Right. And then the insinuation there to me was that he just wanted to come and get laid. He was wanting laid. Yeah. And I said that to him. I was maybe so this maybe he still came though, even after I said that.

And so who who fucking knows at this point?

I believe it was in the breakup episode because I met up with a guy and I just knew it was never gonna go anywhere. So I mean, he wasn't even out of the parking lot anywhere. And I just like, hey, this isn't gonna work out. Because I didn't want him to think that there was a chance. Yeah. So be mature and fucking say that to me. Yeah, I'm not that fucking stupid. And hey, I'm not like I pick up on things pretty fucking easily. Sure. Yeah, I'm very self-aware. That's why I'm like, what the fuck? Yeah, I don't know. I don't know. Anyone knows this guy with tats, hot, has two kids, probably a wife. I don't know.

I'm like, I'm going on a fucking date. First one in a while. Yeah. And he's like, Wow, you look good, and all this. And then he texted, I don't know, after I got back, and I was emotional. And he ended up coming over that night. Oh, yeah. I mean, just honestly, it wasn't even for I mean, we we banged, okay, but it I I don't think it was for that. I think he just felt bad. Yeah, you know, and I asked him that. I'm like, Do you did you just come over because you feel bad for me? He's like, somewhat, and I'm like, thank you. Yeah, I'm even though it was a pity fuck, it it I I should have been there for him.

What have you been up to? Oh, well, you know, just living life. I had to go to a training for work this past week. That was interesting. Then I went over to the boyfriend's house directly after I get a text message from my daughter. Oh no. Yeah. So she said, Hey mom, the cops just found me and so and so having sex in an abandoned building. I said, Oh, so then she says, Well, the cop wants to talk to you. Can I call you? Like, what kind of one? What kind of what kind of question is that? Like, can I call you? Because the cop is like, what did she think I was gonna say? No, I'm I'm busy right now. Anyway, so she calls me and I'm trying to ask her questions, and she's like, Well, the cop is talking to me. And I'm like, Well, could then what is going on? So he gets on the phone, you know, he states his name, officer so and so, and he says, Are you aware of what your daughter is out doing right now? And I said, Well, I thought she was out driving around. And he then let me know, oh no, indeed, that is not what she's doing. She is in an abandoned building with doing coitus.

So, anyways, just had the talk with her. Like, let's not be dumb, especially in the middle of town and abandoned building. That's one of the things that we're talking about. It was in the middle of town, then.

Book Club Finds A Wild Story

good. Then I Friday was book club. Yeah. We had a really good book club.

And then while we were sitting there, we had another person join because she overheard our cackling. Yeah. So I mean, that was cool. So I mean, yeah, I mean, it's just neat to see that you know, you can be such a positive influence on other, especially women's lives.

Oh, absolutely. And the the best thing I like about book clubs is perspectives because there is a couple perspectives that these ladies had said, and I'm like, I never saw that.

So I think that's obviously a really neat thing. But no, I'm I'm excited to to hopefully grow it a little bit more and have more amazing book clubs. But yeah, it's definitely fun getting to meet everybody and their different personalities and stuff. So, and not to mention, oh shit, not to mention, we found out that one of the ladies' husbands. Oh god, that was so cool. Yeah, he's a retired cop from Florida. He's from New York. You can tell he's got that Boston, New York accent. Oh god, it was thick. Yep. But he was a cop in a detective in Florida, and it just so happened that his partner ended up being a goddamn serial killer.

Because I uh I'm obsessed with serial killers because I mean, who's well, he was known as the meanest cop on uh Miami's Meanest Cop on Danger Road. And so his name was Gilbert Fernandez Jr., a Mr. Florida bodybuilding champion. He was known for the local muscle for mob. Serial killer material right there. Yeah, they alleged that he may have executed as many as 11 victims, two or three at a time, to systematically eliminate witnesses against him.

And I was crying while I was telling him, and you know, so and I was like, and this is exactly why I think we need to have a divorce because I'm obviously not in it, yeah. Unfortunately, his grandpa was a pastor who married us. So he shit he got involved, came over and talked to us. He's like, maybe we could just do some Christian counseling. Yeah, he's like, No, we can get through this. And I'm like, say we, like, and you know, and then this pastor talking about, you know, how uh what is that a temptation, you know, get the best of you. My eyes are rolling so big. I know. So I was just like, oh my gosh, like, no, this is my this is me, my my brain, my heart, my body telling me that I'm I'm done. So I stuck it out for two more years and then he oh my god, and then he cheated on me, and yeah, no, I stuck it out for a very long time, yeah.
