Revelation Chapter 13 Part 2

Dr. J discusses the 2nd part of Revelation Chapter 13.

Welcome to Dr. J in the Bible. Hope everyone's doing well. This is part two of Revelation chapter 13. And we're looking at verse 11. Then I saw another beast coming up out of the earth, and he had two horns like a lamb and spoke like a dragon. So then I saw another beast. This creature represents someone like the beast, similar to the beast, coming out of the sea. Because the same word for beast is to use to describe them both. At the same time, these are different beasts. They're different origin. One comes out of the sea, the other comes from the out of the earth. And it seems like they're different rank. Because Revelation 13, 12, we see that the second beast is subordinate to the first that causes the earth to worship the first beast. And there's a different appearance because the second has a mild lamb-like appearance. He had two horns like a lamb. Two horns may infer that this beast has authority in two realms, such as religion and politics. Or he may have two horns simply because that's how many horned lambs have two horns. Makes sense. I think it is a religious political thing. But I could be wrong, but I think that's kind of where I stand personally. He spoke like a dragon. Despite his lamb-like appearance, this message of the second beast is the same message of the first beast. And the second beast is really, he's called the false prophet. If you look at Revelation 16, 19, and 20, uh, he is distinct. He's separate from the first beast. And he's separate from Satan himself, but they're all connected. Kind of, like I said, uh it's a uh it's kind of a counterfeit trinity, unholy trinity. Anti-father, anti-son, anti-Holy Spirit. Verses 12 through 15, the second beasts uh describe his job. Uh it says, he exercises all authority over the first beast in his presence and causes the earth and those who dwell in the woo and to worship the first beast, whose deadly wound was healed. He performs great signs so that he may even fire, uh, make fire come down from heaven on the earth in the sight of men. And he deceives those who dwell on earth by those signs which he is granted to do in the sight of the beast, telling them those who dwell on the earth to make an image to the beast who has a wound by the sword and live. And he was granted power to give bri breath to the image of the beast, that the image of the beast should both speak and cause as many as would not worship the image of the beast to be killed. You know, you think of this wound, uh, you think of like John F. Kennedy's assassination, you think of uh Charlie Kirk, and and uh you see that pain that having some a political leader or someone loved, uh, and and so you can see this beast, the Antichrist, who's has a head wound, probably, it sounds like to me, probably a shot, gun. We don't know for sure. And um you can see the world weeping over this. You can kind of picture going back to those awful times of those assassinations. And um just picture if one of those came back to life, right? And just think this is what really is going to happen with the Antichrist, and that's why the whole world's going to worship him. Um, it's bizarre, but it's going to happen, and you can see the pattern even today. So he exercises all authority of the first beast. So this beast rises from the earth. He is essentially a demonic prophet who leads the world to worship Satan and the Antichrist. Um, you know, it seems, it may seem fantastic to some that the world will be led into worship of a man and the devil, but by the very nature of men's depravity, we are, we, we naturally have a religious impulse. And we undeniably, because of our depravity, rebel against God. So if you're you can worship Satan and not call it Satan worship. I mean, if you're worshiping something like uh Roman Catholicism, where the Pope, you know, you're you're you're mixing Christianity and the Pope is kind of the center, Mary worship, Mariology, um, or Mormonism, um, where you're you've uh messed with the Christology of Christ, of who he is. Both of those have, or Jehovah's Witnesses, or any, you know, basically everyone that's not, including the, you're you're worshiping Satan. If you're not worshiping the Jesus of the Bible and you're not you're not standing on the gospel of Jesus Christ and the Christology that Jesus is fully God and fully man, you're worshiping Satan. So it's not hard to see that the whole world's going to follow and worship Satan. It's just not. He performs great signs. The beast rising from the sea has the signs and wonders to back up his false teaching. Um, kind of similar to um how the early church and Jesus, the miracles uh backed up their teachings, that they were teaching what they're teaching was the authentication of the gospel, true gospel. Only differs, this guy's his false miracles. They're not, they're they're miracles from Satan. As a matter of fact, Jesus said, you know, you get people today, especially the health-wealth gospel, uh, that are following these signs and wonders. But Jesus clearly said when the Pharisees, they asked him, what sign you're gonna give? He said, I give you the sign of Jonah. And that was the sign of the resurrection. He said, An evil, wicked generation seeks signs and wonders. And the reason because signs and wonders can be also performed by false prophets. Yeah. He makes fire come down from heaven on earth in the sight of men. Picture that. Um in the eyes of the deceived world, uh, it answers the miracle of the two witnesses, the minister during the period that are persecuted by the Antichrist and false prophet. Right? I mean, if he can do it, and they did it, so it's no big deal, right? And so these guys, to the deceived world, it really puts the false prophet in the class of Elijah. It confuses who's true. And so there's gonna be confusion. So we have to know God's word. If you knew God's, if they knew God's word, they would recognize Elijah and Moses, the two witnesses, were speaking the truth, but they're not gonna know God's word. Most people won't, and they'll follow the false prophet. And there's a supernatural power which is against the truth, as well as for God and truth. So the miracle, simply a working of wonder or or just a miracle, does not prove it's from God. You remember the days of Exodus in uh in the book of Exodus, Exodus 7 through 9, Aaron performed miracles up to a point his was matched. Miracle for miracle by the magicians. Yeah. Sameness. That's where they were. Of course, they got to the point they could not duplicate because God's God, they're not. Um in Deuteronomy 13, 1 through 5, God assumes there will be supernatural works on behalf of false prophets and idols. So he warns people to judge a worker of miracles by their message, not by their works. Matthew 7, 22, 23. It says that uh some will say, Lord, Lord, we did this, we cast out demons, we did that. He said, I never knew you, you evil workers. Uh you know, that verse scares a lot of people. Um I don't think it should. I think it should for some. I think it makes us evaluate, which is good. But I think that if you notice, there's nothing about repentance, there's nothing about being saved by grace through faith, there's nothing about the gospel. It's all about we did this, miracles. We did that. Um, and basically they did it for themselves. So I think that shows what that is. They weren't saved to begin with, for sure. Um, Jesus talks about in Matthew 24, 24, that there'll be false prophets doing signs and wonders. Paul says in 2 Thessalonians 2.9 that the Antichrist will be will come with lying signs and wonders. So, really trying to really, um, I'm not saying God still does miracles. I believe that 100%. But we need to be discerning, and we don't we don't just accept something based on a miracle. We accept it because it's the word of God, and it agrees with the word of God. Um, he granted power to give breath to the image of the beast, that the image of the beast should both speak, cause as many as would not worship the image of the beast to be killed. So the beast from rising out of the earth will use deception. Um, and he will cause an image of the beast to speak. You know, really, this sounds very much of AI, the uh robots that they're creating, robotic. Um I mean, they're they're hoping in the next three to five years start getting robots out into the workforce. They're trying to train even uh robots to be soldiers and and police officers. So just think uh AI and the how it's just growing and growing, and you put that into an image, right? Oh, wait a minute, that is an image. Statue-like. And it will be able to kill people if they don't worship the beast, the image of the beast. Places like China already, facial recognition, um you know, Soviet Union during the times of the Cold War. So this stuff's not like um unrealistic at all. You know, um the idolatrous image is what Jesus, Daniel, and Paul spoke of the abomination of desolation. And there's going to be an idolatrous image set up in the holy place of a rebuilt temple, which they're already talking about getting rebuilt. And it's an abomination in the sense of being supreme idolatry, and it's desolation is the sense as it will bring judgment, described by the seals, the trumpets, and the bowls. 16 through 17. He calls all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and slave, to receive a mark on the right hand and on their foreheads, and that no one may buy or sell except one who has the mark or the name of the beast and the number of his name. So he calls all to receive this mark. You know, uh, under the government of the beast and his associates, so to speak, he's going to delegate, everyone will be giving a mark where they could not buy or sell. Uh and they will take this and they will put it in their right hand or on their foreheads. So, you know, I think it is in Sweden, they're already trying to do this stuff. Yeah. Um and I've heard people say that having these chips put in will help prevent child abduction, sex trade. Um help us with, you know, if someone gets abducted and they can find where they're at, and uh also they can put all your medical stuff on this little chip. They can put your billing, your financial stuff, everything you think of. Think about that for a second. Yeah. We see it happening. We see the patterns. Um you know, and and this thing, the mark on the right hand, the foreheads, you know. Satan is not very creative. All he can do is imitate God. So Satan imitates things because God puts marks upon his people. Right? And the number of the beasts, verse 18, here's the wisdom. Let him who has understanding calculate the number of the beast, for his it is the number of man, his number is six six six. Now, you know, this is interesting. Using this method, many many people calculate six six six, and they've come up with for the Antichrist, the Pope, John, you know, uh Napoleon, Hitler, Donald Trump. I mean, honestly. Um, but this is really not what it's talking about. Uh there's been things through the year that they even calculated Nero uh as being uh bat. But um really it's the number of men a man. And when we look at that, his number six six six is means imperfection, and really the calculation is in Hebrew of understanding uh the six six six. So we don't need to fear uh the number six six six in a in a superstitious way, but we do need to be aware of its meaning. Many people take the view that it's the calculation of his name in Hebrew. Yeah. And so um I think that's probably true. So we look here that the beast from the sea, the antichrist, political leader, blasphemous, reigns three and a half years, uh, with beasts from the earth, the false prophet, which I think is probably gonna be a pope. I think. I don't think I'm wrong. Um and uh yeah, I I think that this is gonna be a world that, you know, the church has already been raptured. They're probably gonna say aliens came and took them, and they're gonna make a strong case because um they already have. Not that they already came, aliens, but they're preparing the world for aliens to come. I mean, just the movies we see, the um also the investigations that the government has been doing. Uh so I don't think that's totally fictitious. I think it it's gonna be an excuse that they do. And it's gonna be an excuse for building a one-world government, which will put this antichrist in power. It's a totalitarian ruler. And in order to provide order and control anarchy all over the world, they're gonna give chips that AI probably will keep track of. And um there's gonna be a system, probably, probably a lot of robots, I would assume, that's gonna keep order. And if you don't bow down to this image, um, you will lose your head, you will die. And so uh that gets into other things that we'll talk about next time. Uh, that that uh you know many, many people will die. Um, but those that have refused and and because of their trust in Christ, they just change their address, and uh God will get the glory. So next week we will look at Revelation 14, the Lamb, the 144,000, and the harvest of the earth. There's gonna be a harvest during this uh tribulation period. Millions are gonna come to know Christ.
