there was ever a message we need to hear right now at the road in our city, in our nation, in Washington, D.C., in Denver, Colorado, in City Council, ominous times, the power of prayer that we are there was all kinds of rebellion, there was a civil war, and then you have now two divided kingdom, and you have Israel's the northern part, and Judah is the southern part, and one king after another is bad, he's evil, and he's compromised, especially in Israel. 00:04:26.800 --> 00:04:28.480 All the kings in Israel were bad. 00:04:28.639 --> 00:04:34.800 And now in Judah, which is the southern part, which includes Jerusalem, if you look at your map, you know, you'll see Jerusalem there. 00:04:35.199 --> 00:04:37.839 Um, this guy named Hezekiah comes to power. 00:04:38.079 --> 00:04:45.920 And as he does, we're gonna un, the story's gonna unfold of one problem after another. 00:04:46.240 --> 00:04:53.439 And we got a lot to cover, so I may skip some parts and move around, but I'm gonna take you through 2 Kings 18 and 19. 00:04:53.920 --> 00:05:00.480 Now it came to pass in the third year of Hoshiach, the son of Elah, king of Israel. 00:05:00.639 --> 00:05:09.199 So that's the northern province, that Hezekiah, the son of Ahaz, king of Judah, began to reign. 00:05:09.600 --> 00:05:13.279 He was 25 years old when he became king. 00:05:13.439 --> 00:05:16.079 And he reigned 29 years in Jerusalem. 00:05:16.240 --> 00:05:22.160 His mother's name, and this is really important, to me it's very important, his mother's name was Abbi, Abijah. 00:05:22.319 --> 00:05:23.519 You may have Abijah in your eye. 00:05:23.680 --> 00:05:25.839 Abbi, the daughter of Zechariah. 00:05:26.079 --> 00:05:36.160 Now that's not the prophet of Zechariah in Haggai that came later, but he is a great-grandfather was David. 00:06:07.040 --> 00:06:08.879 So he's of that line. 00:06:09.120 --> 00:06:14.319 Ahaz's father, Ahaz was one of the evilest kings in in Judah. 00:06:14.560 --> 00:06:20.079 The guy just, he, he, he uh, he raised up high places and set up idols. 00:06:20.560 --> 00:06:27.600 It's even believed through some cryptic passages that he initiated child sacrifices times, and I think most of the time he actually prospers you materially because you you get a man or a woman that that's prospering spiritually, mentally, emotionally, they usually prosper on the son of Elah, king of Israel, and Shalmezer, king of Assyria. 00:12:40.000 --> 00:12:50.720 So that so king, this king, uh Shalmazzar, king of Assyria, comes up against Samaria, which is north of because they did not obey the voice of the Lord their God, but transgressed his covenant and all that Moses, the servant of the Lord, had commanded. 00:13:26.639 --> 00:13:29.360 And they would neither hear nor do them. 00:13:29.440 --> 00:13:38.720 And in the 14th year of King Hezekiah Sennachreb, king of Assyria, came up against all the fortified, says a new king of Assyria. 00:13:38.879
