This sermon, “Waiting on God to Show Up with Power,” centers on  Acts 1 and emphasizes that the Christian life and mission are not meant to be carried out in human strength, but through the power of the Holy Spirit. Pastor Steve Holt explains that after His resurrection, Jesus instructed His disciples to wait—not act—until they were “clothed in power” through the Holy Spirit, highlighting the essential difference between water baptism (a public declaration of repentance and faith) and Spirit baptism (an empowering encounter with God’s presence). The message challenges the common desire for control, productivity, or even political solutions, redirecting believers to a Kingdom of God mindset where true transformation comes through spiritual power, not human effort. Ultimately, the sermon calls believers to move from fear to boldness, from striving to trusting, and from religion to a Spirit-filled relationship with Christ—urging them to surrender fully, receive the Holy Spirit’s ongoing filling, and become empowered witnesses who carry God’s kingdom to the world.

SPEAKER_01

Hello everyone, I'm Dr. Steve Bolt. I want to welcome you to the Road Church Podcast. Each week we go into God's Word. We teach chapter by chapter and verse by verse. We are here to build the Kingdom of God revolution through empowering people to change the world. So we pray this will minister to you at your heart level and change your life. So we're in the book of Acts. So if you have your Bible as you open your Bibles, this is Holy Week we're going into. I'm not doing a Palm Sunday sermon. I'm going to continue in the book of Acts, which we started last week. And as I said last week, and you can go online and see the sermon or hear the sermon if you want to watch it. It's all there. I talked a little bit about an introduction to Acts, that there was a volume one and there was a volume two originally. And so the volume one and volume two are under the rubric of one book. And that book was called The History of Christian Origins with Luke and Acts. Later in the second century, they were separated out because the patristic fathers were putting together Matthew, Mark, and John, and they decided to insert Luke into what we call the four gospels today, the first four books of the New Testament, for the life of Jesus. And then they called Acts, what we now know as Acts, the origins of the Christian church. They called it at first the Apostle. So one was the gospel and the other was the Apostle. Because most of Acts chapter 9 on, it's 28 chapters, is about Paul. So the idea of the Acts of the Apostles is kind of an interesting title, because really there's only three apostles even mentioned, really, of any significance. And it's really first eight chapters are about Peter, but next nine chapters are about Paul. So what it's classically become, those who are mystiologists and those who are theologians, is to call it Acts of the Holy Spirit. And so I'm going to call it clothed in power. The title I use is Clothed in Power Through the Holy Spirit. And I gave all of that last week. So turn to Acts 1, verse 3. Turn to Acts 1, verse 3. And I'm going to cover a little bit of what I covered last week, but I'm trying to lay good foundations. Good foundations for Acts, because we'll start moving out as we get through this first chapter. But this first chapter is the foundation for the rest of the book. And this is really important. Listen to what I'm going to read in on verse 3. And if you're one who takes notes, I'm going to tell you some things to underline here. To whom he also presented himself alive after his suffering by many infallible proofs. And last week I talked about the resurrection proofs of the resurrection of Christ. And that's why we have Easter. That's we have Good Friday, the crucifixion, and then the infallible proofs, not subjective proofs, but infallible proofs, being seen by them during 40 days, underlying 40 days, and speaking of the things pertaining to the kingdom of God, underlying kingdom of God. And you might ask the question, 40 days on one topic? Are you kidding me? This is the ministry of Jesus, and his whole ministry has been about the kingdom of God. He spoke about the kingdom of God a hundred times. He told us to seek first the kingdom of God. He told us to pray, Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Most of his parables, if you have one theme, is on the kingdom of God. And yet it says, for 40 more days, he talked about the kingdom of God. And so as you look at that, it reminded me when I was reading that of a prophetic word that Jesus gave back in Matthew 16. And he says, I will build my church. I will build my church and the gates of Hades. I think we have that. Is that up on the screen? We should have that. That's Matthew 16. I wanted everybody to see that. If not, I'm going to have you turn to it. Okay, so turn to Matthew 16. I don't see it on the PowerPoint. So look at Matthew 16. Because I want you to read this. I'm going to have you. There it is. Okay, never mind. There it is. We found it. Okay. I will build my this is Jesus speaking. I will build my church, and the gates of Hades shall not prevail against it. And I will give you, now underline this is really important. The keys of the kingdom of heaven, whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven. Whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven. So here's what I think was happening. This is my conjecture, Steve Holt translation here, is that I think that's what he was teaching. I think he was teaching differently than he had before because he's preparing the church to be birthed. I will build my church, and the gates of hell, or the gates of Hades shall not prevail against it. I'm giving you the keys of the kingdom. So I'm going to, I'm going to make a little bit of an assumption here that maybe that's what he was teaching. He was teaching the disciples, these are the keys of the kingdom. These are the keys of the kingdom. Now, let me tell you something that's really important. Look at Luke 11. Turn to Luke 11 because there's a correlation, I believe, with Matthew 16 and Luke 11. Turn to Luke 11, and I believe we could parallel these two things that Jesus says, and I think he's saying almost the exact same thing, but in a different way. And this is really, really important. Look at Luke 11, 17. Look at Luke 11, 17. But he, knowing their thoughts, said to them, Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation, and a house divided against itself false. If Satan, look at verse 18, if Satan also is divided against himself, how will his kingdom stand? Because you say, I cast out demons by Beelzebub. So he's being challenged by the Pharisees about this. And if I cast out demons by Beelzebub, by whom, which is the prince of the demons, by the way, by whom do your sons cast them out? Therefore they will be your judges. But if I cast out demons with the finger of God, surely the kingdom of God has come upon you. Okay, you see the correlation, keys of the kingdom, but look what he says next. Really important. When a strong man, fully armed, guards his own palace, his goods are in place. But when a stronger than he comes upon him and overcomes him, he takes from him all his armor in which he trusted and divides his spoils. You see what he's saying here? He's saying, I'm giving you the keys of the kingdom. What is bound on earth will be bound in heaven. What is loosed on earth will be loosed in heaven. Here's what he's saying. He's saying, look, I'm giving you the keys of the kingdom, and it starts with you. It's not like whatever you want to do, Lord. It's like, what are you gonna do? Because you have the keys of the kingdom. What are we binding and loosening? And then he says, the only way to divide Satan's kingdom is for a stronger one to come. Guess who that is? That's you. That's you in the power of the Holy Spirit. Now they don't get it yet. They don't get it in Matthew 16, they don't get it in Luke 11. They don't understand what he's talking about. What you a church? Ecclesiastes? What are you talking about? You see, now in Acts, he's starting to put it all together. He's bringing it all together, you guys, and he's saying, look, there's only one way to knock the devil out of your church, to knock the devil out of your life, to knock the devil out of your marriage, to knock the devil out of your moral life, to knock the devil out of whatever he's in. You bind him in the name of Jesus with the keys of the kingdom, and you loose the blessings of God. And so every time men and women, listen, it's really important, every time we curse something, and I'm talking about in a negative way, you're binding yourself. You're binding, you're quenching the Holy Spirit. But when you come and you come with blessing, and you come with forgiveness, and you come with joy, and you come with purpose, and it's kingdom purpose, you're binding the enemy. You're binding demons. You are bringing light into the darkness. And so these are all precursors. These are all prophetic for what I think he's probably doing in verse 3, because he's saying, look, you guys are gonna build the church. I will build my church through you. I'm leaving. 40 days. I mean, I'm looking out here, and I can tell some of you don't have a clue what I'm talking about. You need you probably need 40 days to get it. It's taking me 40 years to get it. So if it takes you 40 days, you're way ahead of me. So we're all learning, right? So he needed 40 days to get them ready. And being assembled together, verse 4 with them, he commanded them not to depart from Jerusalem, but to wait for the promise of the Father, which he said, You have heard from me, for John truly baptized with water. And by the way, about half of the disciples we believe were John's disciples before Jesus came. So when Jesus was baptized by John, many of them, probably half of the twelve, followed Jesus. So they know about John. But you shall be baptized with the Holy Spirit not many days from now. So this is the pattern. So remember I said this last week. Let me say it again. Luke is giving us a pattern in Acts for the same pattern that you have in Luke. Okay, so many historians believe that Theophilus, who he's writing to in Acts 1 and Luke 1, might have been the lawyer or the judge for Paul's case in Rome. So in writing this for the honorable, the excellent Theophilus, he's preparing a case study for a trial in which Paul's life is on the line. Because remember, Paul wants to go on to Spain, but he's been in prison, and so he's making a case. So here's what Luke's doing. The great historian Luke is doing this. He's saying, look, Jesus was baptized with water and the Holy Spirit. Then the power came, because we have no reference of Jesus doing any miracles before his baptism. Okay? So he's baptized with water and the Spirit. Now in Acts 1, he's saying that he's giving us the same messianic pattern, apostolic pattern for us. So there's two baptisms in the Christian life. First is a baptism with water. Okay, so here's what it says: John baptized with water, but one mightier than I is coming, whose sandal strap I am not worthy to lose. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire. So let me give you a definition of baptism. Baptizo. Baptizo means to dip in or under, to die, D Y E, die. Baptizo related to a sense of immersion, sinking, going under, and bathing. So when I was in Morocco many years ago, visiting missionary friends with me, and man, is that a I could I could give you an hour-long soliloquy on Liz and I going to Morocco. We met thieves, we met drug runners, we met the Moroccan mafia. I mean, it was just a crazy story. Anyway, somehow, by a miracle of God, we made it. So we made it to Morocco, and I remember going into Fez. We were in the city of Fez, and we went up these stairs to a restaurant, and there was a little balcony, and I looked out over the balcony, and down below were all these people dying clothes, dying sheets, dying blankets. And so you had this, you had a you had a big vat that was yellow, you had a big vat that was red, you had a big vat that was green, and they would run there and there, they would put those clothes in there, and they would soak in there. That's what baptism means. So baptism is the idea of dyeing something, D Y E. It's going in this color and coming out that color. And you guys, that's what water baptism is. Water baptism is going under dead to sin and coming up alive to Christ. And so the week after Easter, the 12th, we're gonna do a baptism service. If you've never been baptized, get baptized with us. It'd be an honor to baptize you in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. If you have been baptized in the past, but you're rededicating your life to the Lord, get baptized. But go online, you can sign up there. But that's a water baptism. So Jesus is water baptized. But now there's a second baptism, and it's a baptism with the Holy Spirit. So this is what John says. This is what John the Baptist says about Jesus as he's approaching. I indeed baptize you with water, but one mightier than I is coming, whose sandal strap I'm not worthy to lose, he will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire. So as Jesus was baptized, he comes out, and this is what happens. When all the people were baptized, it came to pass that Jesus also was baptized, and while he prayed, heaven was opened, and the Holy Spirit descended in bodily form like a dove upon him, and a voice came from heaven which said, You are my beloved son, and you I am well pleased. From that point, from that point on, church, supernatural miracles began to happen. And so what so what Luke is doing here in this verse is to say that that same pattern is true for us. That we are baptized with water, but we're also gonna be baptized with the Holy Spirit and fire. And so that's the main thing he says. There's a baptism with the Holy Spirit. With the Holy Spirit. All right. You didn't know you're gonna have to keep moving around as much, but do it again. Okay, go to John 14. I want you to go to John 14 because it's another crucial passage to understanding, I believe, the baptism of the Holy Spirit. So Jesus is talking about the Holy Spirit. He's talking about what's gonna happen when he leaves, and he says a radical verse. This is probably one of the most radical verses in all of the New Testament, if not the most radical, besides the resurrection. The resurrection verses are pretty radical. But this is a radical promise given to all of us in the church. Every one of you, this is a promise from Jesus to you. Verse 12, John 14, 12. Most assuredly I say to you, he who believes in me, should circle that or underline that, believes in me, the works that I do, he will do also. What? What? Are you kidding me? That we can do the works of Jesus, and even greater works than Jesus? This is Jesus speaking. In some of your Bibles, it's in red. And greater works than these he will do, because, and this is why it's prophetic of what he's saying in Acts, I go to my Father. So this is a mystery to us, guys, but what Jesus could do in one human form, because he was fully human and fully divine, limiting him to time and space, by going to the Father, ascending to the Father, which we'll talk more about the next time we talk about Acts after Easter, there is a release of the Holy Spirit to all of us. And what's so cool about this is he says, he who believes in me. He who believes in me, not talking about super apostles, not talking about super prophets, talking about great anointed ones. No, if you believe in him, the potential is there. If you believe in him and you're filled with the Holy Spirit, the potential is there. The potential and the power is in you to do greater works than even Jesus. Well, you say, well, I haven't walked on water, okay? I haven't raised anybody from the dead. Okay, but guess what? Somebody has. I mean the miracles that are happening in the world today, unprecedented. Unprecedented. It's unprecedented what God's doing in Hollywood right now. You got movie stars coming up all over the time saying, Yeah, I'm following Christ now. I'm a Jesus follower now. You got influences on the internet, I'm following Jesus now. It's like constant. Every day it's like there's a new one. And I've been around long enough to say that's unprecedented. And then the stuff that's happening in Asia, in China, in parts of South America, in Latin America, and Africa, it's phenomenal. So when we say greater works, it's not necessarily that you have done greater works, it's the entire body doing the works, and it's greater works. Because Jesus is still in Jerusalem doing it. It's boom, it's spread all over the globe. And now there's millions of little Jesuses going around and praying for people and seeing God move in mighty and powerful ways. And that's what's so beautiful about spiritual gifts. Because we're all gifted in different ways. I'm not as anointed as Josh Floyd, and Josh Floyd's not as anointed as whoever, and and uh Joey's more anointed in this, and and our our elders are all different. Every one of you in this room are different. Isn't that exciting, though? That's why we're the body of Christ. Some are arms and some are legs and some are toes, and we all serve. I said to the team in the kitchen, I said, Who made the coffee today? I said, Man, that was great coffee. The gift of coffee making. Raise your hand if you had crummy coffee before. All right, now that's a sin if we have it that way here. I want you to know that. And we don't do that. We don't do crummy coffee here. All right. No comment. There's a lot of opinions about coffee. But the way, but he says, he who believes in me. And guess what, you guys? It's just as important that we clean this building and we take care of the sanctuary so that you come in and to a beautiful place and a beautiful lobby, as even laying hands on the sick and seeing them healed. It's all important because we're serving Christ. And I just forgot to say something, and that is this that because of your giving, we're now down to 23,000 to pay off the mortgage. I forgot to say that. So we 23,000 from 1.4 million. That's really cool. It's exciting. But look what he says next. If you ask anything in my name, I will do it. What does that sound like? It sounds like the keys of the kingdom. So on all of these references that I'm giving, church, it's about the power of prayer. There's something about the power of prayer, of you calling out to God for what you believe God's called you to call out to God about and believe him for that. And that's why the next time we go through Acts, this second part of chapter 1, they they have no trouble believing. They need to wait on the Holy Spirit coming, and they're gonna go into it through prayer. So back to Acts 1, 4. And being assembled together with them, he commanded them not to depart from Jerusalem, but to wait for the promise of the Holy Father, promise of the Father, which he said, You've heard from me, for John truly baptized with water, but you shall be baptized with the Holy Spirit. Now I'm gonna tell you what I think. I think that the disciples at that time conjured up in their mind the Old Testament. It's the only scriptures they had at that time. And they thought about Samson. It says about Samson when the Spirit of the Lord came upon him in power. I think they thought about the prophecies of Jeremiah about the coming of a new covenant. They probably thought about the prophecies of Ezekiel, that God would give people the people of God a new heart and a new spirit. And then they had heard John the baptizer say he will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire. So the Holy Spirit and fire. There's going to be this work of the Spirit. Now, let me just say this. This is important. There's only one other time that in the book of Acts the word baptism of the Holy Spirit is used. But four times it's the filling of the Holy Spirit. Now, I don't want to be too redundant because it's only a few weeks ago that I talked about the filling and the baptism of the Holy Spirit. But it's Ephesians 5 18. You shall receive power and the Holy Spirit comes upon you. But in Ephesians 5 18, it says, Do not get drunk with wine, for that is dissipation, but be filled with the Holy Spirit. So what is What is the filling of the Holy Spirit? That's really important. Two things. Number one, it's you releasing and surrendering power to the Spirit in your life. It's you being willing to loose yourself from your own power and the Holy Spirit coming upon you. And then, secondly, men and women, it's a work of the Spirit by which it is daily. It is daily in our lives. So I can be filled with the Holy Spirit today, but I may not be filled with the Holy Spirit tomorrow. It's a conscious decision that I make to be being filled with the Holy Spirit. How many of you have gone through times in your life where you feel really distant from God? And you just feel like, man, I'm confused. I am depressed. I'm anxious. Man, that's the time when you stop and you slow down and you say, Spirit of God, I need you to come. I need you to come and I put you on the throne of my life again. You may not feel anything. You may not feel anything. You may not feel any kind of a peace or joy, but you do that by faith. That's what Jesus is saying. He's saying, look, you guys, I want you to be filled with the Holy Spirit. This baptism of the Spirit, listen, is being immersed in. It's like going under the water again. Except it's spiritual. God, die me, D-Y-E, die me with your spirit. There's too much of me at work here. It's too much of me. And I'm going to surrender that to you, Lord. I'm lonely, I'm tired, I'm frustrated. That's why vulnerability is so huge in this. When Liz and I have had our issues, we share what we feel. And then we talk about it and then we work on it through the power of the Holy Spirit. And so the die, the baptism of the Spirit, listen, is being immersed in the Spirit again. It's being, and there's and there's an initial immersion. But I want you to understand something that's really important. The disciples already had the Holy Spirit. The disciples already had the Holy Spirit. Remember, when Jesus resurrected, it says he breathed on them and he said, receive the Holy Spirit. So they already have the Holy Spirit. So there's a difference between the baptism of the Spirit that comes when we get saved, and the filling of the Holy Spirit, which is a conscious work throughout the rest of our life. Too much emphasis, in my opinion, is placed on the baptism of the Holy Spirit as some experience that we have versus the filling of the Holy Spirit, which is a conscious daily choice that we make. So that's why sometimes in your Pentecostal church is like, well, you know, if you've been baptized in the Holy Spirit, and usually that means something about speaking in tongues or some experience that you've had, well, you can answer it any way you want. I've had that experience. But that experience pales compared to the daily routine of putting Christ on the throne of my life where I don't even feel it. I mean, I'm still like lonely when I pray for it. But by faith I trust, listen, by faith I trust that the power of God's gonna take over and eventually does. And that's why we have the scripture about the fruit of the Spirit: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, gentleness, self-control rolling through our life. That's the fruit of the kingdom. That's the fruit of the spirit in our lives. He says, Don't depart. Wait. Wait for the promise of the Father. In Luke 24, Luke writes, Behold, I send the promise of my Father upon you, but tarry in the city of Jerusalem until you're endued with power from on high. He says, wait. You guys are not ready for what's about to come. Everybody look at me. Better buckle up. Better buckle up. Buckle up for safety. Buckle up. If the hell that we've been through is any indication of the coming of heaven that is to come, buckle up. Because the enemy is going to get pushed back by the power of the Spirit through all of you in a new way. Spirit of God is coming. And some have left. One thing I know is there's 296 churches, I believe, in Colorado Springs. So I'm sure they're going somewhere. But I want to look at every one of you and say, you guys are awesome. You're worshipers and warriors. And I'm so proud to have you as my friends and my colleagues and my cadre. It's a joy to be a part of it. And these elders are unreal. So he's saying, Terry, wait, there's something coming. You're not quite ready for it yet, but it's a baptism with the Holy Spirit. Look at verse 6. This is so funny. Verse 6 is hilarious to me. Therefore, when they had come together, they asked him, saying, Lord, will you at this time restore the kingdom to Israel? And he said to them, It is not for you to know times or seasons which the Father has put in his own authority. Well, no wonder they need to wait because they still don't get it. They still think it's a political kingdom. They still think it's political power through Israel. And he's been talking about the keys of the kingdom, the building of the church, the baptism of the Holy Spirit, the filling of the Holy Spirit, the works of the Holy Spirit. And he says, when do we take over everything? That's what we want. Sound familiar? I mean, we all struggle with that, right? Political power. He's saying, look, political power is not what I'm talking about. I'm talking about a kingdom of God revolution. And he could, maybe he said it in the 40 days. This is going to be the greatest revolution the world has ever seen. And you guys are front and center. Your key to this. I'm going to do greater works through you guys. Verse 8. But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you. You shall be witnesses to me in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria and to the ends of the earth. Wait. Wait. Wait. Wait till you get power because you don't have any. You've got firecracker power and I've got dynamite power. And I want to, if you'll wait on me, I'm going to pour it out at my chosen time, and you're going to have exactly what you need to rock this world, to drive back the demonic. The great theologian F. F. Bruce wrote, instead of political power, which had once been the object of their ambitions, a power far greater and nobler would be theirs. When the Holy Spirit came upon them, Jesus assured them they would be vested with heavenly power. As Jesus had been anointed with the Holy Spirit and power, so his followers were now to be similarly anointed and enabled to carry on his work. He's talking about a kingdom of God revolution. So we had the 5th district, Republican Party, here, about this size yesterday. Top leaders in the Republican Party were here. And I told them when I got up before I did the prayer, I said, men and women, takes courage to be involved in the political arena. Jarvis was there. Jarvis is our minority leader. Jarvis, would you stand up? Appreciate you, Jarvis, and what you're doing. Takes courage, takes guts to be in the political arena. It really does. By the way, it takes courage and guts to be a parent, too. Would all the women say amen? Would all the men say amen? Ooh, that was a good hearty amen. I like that. That's good. Here's the point. We can't do it. And I've talked to Jarvis, Ryan Graham. Ryan's running for county commissioner. Ryan, would you stand? Ryan here has got the courage to be in the arena, too. I think they both would say they're kind of at the end of their own human power. You need Holy Spirit power. That's what Jesus is saying. You guys aren't ready for what's coming. You don't even know the persecution you're going to go through. Guys, persecution comes with great anointing. Persecution always follows great power. And one of the and one of the themes that we're going to see in the book of Acts is the greater the power, the greater the persecution. And yet, there's joy in it. Because in the midst of that, we know that we're filled with the Holy Spirit. And God gives you wisdom about stuff you never had wisdom before. That you you have insight into stuff you just didn't know before, and God just gives it to you through the power of the Holy Spirit. So it's not political power anymore. He's saying there's going to be kingdom power. It's not going to be Jewish, pharisaical, religious power. It's going to be a relationship with me. It's going to be heart power. And he's going to take this bumbling bunch of uneducated Galilean men, with probably a whole bunch smarter women that were with them because they're the only ones who went to the tomb on the third day. And he's going to transform them. And if you feel like you're not educated enough, if you feel like you don't have what it takes, welcome to the party. That's the best setup for the spirit-filled life, is to feel like you don't have what it takes. So this morning I'm going to talk about surrender. You need to surrender to Christ. You need to surrender to the Holy Spirit. Some of you are carrying way too much weight on your shoulders. You're trying to solve your problems, and God has placed you in a position where you're worn out, you're tired, maybe you're angry, maybe you're traumatized. I don't know. But I'm going to challenge you to quit looking this way and look up and surrender to the Holy Spirit and give it to Him. And ask for His power to come down, and it won't happen overnight because you've got to do it every day. But it will get better through His dunamous dynamite power working in your life. And he can take fear and turn it into faith. He can take intimidation and turn it into empowerment. He can take religion and turn it into a personal relationship if you'll quit trying and start trusting in him. That's what he's trying to get across. Now look what it says. So that's the that's the outline of the book of Acts. It's going to start in Jerusalem, chapters 1 through 7. It's going to be Judea and Samaria, chapters 8 through 12. And the ends of the earth are chapter 13 to 28. And guess where chapter 29 is? Right here. This is Acts 29. This is the 21st century. We get to do Acts 29 in Colorado Springs. You get to be Acts 29 in El Paso County. We get to be Acts 29 in the state of Colorado. Stay here. Stay here. Fight. Don't cut and run. Unless God's calling you. If He's speaking it to you, then go move to another state. But I'm telling you, if He hasn't told you, by the way, old orders are the same orders until you get new orders. So you guys, we're here, right? And I'm with you. Liz and I are with you. And we're going to battle on. We're going to fight on. Because God loves this state. And we're going to see a kingdom of God revolution in the state of Colorado. Because that's God's will. And you know what? You guys are filled with the Holy Spirit. You are. Think about it. If a thousand, fifteen hundred of us filled with the Holy Spirit, what we could do to this county, what we can do to this city, what we can do to this state, it's going to happen. It's going to be a baptism of the Holy Spirit. So three questions that can change your life. Write these down if you're taking notes. Number one, are you in need of Jesus? Are you in need of Jesus this morning? Have you given your heart to Christ? That's step one. Have you given your heart to Jesus? The Bible says, if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. So have you given your heart to Christ? Have you confessed with your mouth Jesus is Lord? Have you received Christ? You can. Alright? Number two, are you in need of water baptism? Are you in need of water baptism? Have you been baptized in water for the remission of sins? Get baptized the week after Easter. We're doing a baptism. And then number three, are you in need of spirit baptism? Have you been initially filled with the Holy Spirit?
