Welcome to Path to Wholeness — your journey back to your true self.

In today’s episode, we dive into a topic that deeply impacts so many of us: anxiety, overthinking, and how meditation can transform the way we experience both.

If you’ve ever felt like your mind is constantly racing—replaying the past, worrying about the future, or struggling to stay present—you’re not alone.

In this episode, I’m joined by meditation coach and author Thaisa Clapham,  and together we explore:
✨ What meditation really is (beyond common misconceptions)
✨ How to become more present in your daily life
✨ Simple practices to reduce overthinking and reconnect with yourself
✨ The shift from reacting to observing your thoughts
✨ Why meditation is not about perfection—but about consistency

Thaisa shares a powerful perspective: meditation isn’t about stopping your thoughts—it’s about changing your relationship with them. It’s a journey back to your true self, where awareness, presence, and peace naturally unfold over time.

We also talk about:
🧠 Why the mind constantly moves between past and future
🧘‍♀️ Easy grounding exercises you can use throughout your day
🌱 How meditation becomes a lifestyle, not just a practice
💭 Why there’s no such thing as “failing” at meditation

Whether you’re just starting your meditation journey or looking to deepen your practice, this conversation will give you a fresh and empowering perspective.

If this episode resonates with you, consider sharing it with someone who might need it 💛
And if you have questions about meditation, anxiety, or overthinking, drop them in the comments—we’d love to explore them in future episodes!

Welcome to Path to Holeness, your journey back to your true self. Here we explore meditation, energy, and awareness to help you live with more clarity, alignment, and well-being. Today's episode is very special because we're talking about something that has truly changed my life, anxiety overthinking, and how meditation can transform the way we experience both. If you ever feel like your mind is constantly moving, going into the past, worrying about the future, or feeling like you can't fully be present, you're not alone. In this episode, I'm joined by Talisa Clutman, meditation coach and author, and we explore how meditation really is beyond the misconceptions. Not something you have to perfect, but it's a journey back to yourself. We talk about how to become more present in your daily life, simple practices you can use throughout the day, and how meditation helps you to move from reacting to observing to truly connecting with your inner awareness, and most importantly, we talk about how this is a process, a practice that over time helps you feel more grounded, more present, and more at peace. So if you ever struggle with overthinking or feeling disconnected, this episode is for you. Let's get into it. Hi, welcome to Path to Holeness. I am so excited today about a topic that has changed my life, and I had an opportunity to interview Theresa today that is gonna be teaching us a lot about meditation. And one of the things that cultivated me about the experience I had with her is her ability to help you know yourself, to be in awareness. So I want to ask a specific question today. What is meditation?

SPEAKER_01

It's an honor to be here, Angelica, to be a part of this wonderful journey, to know thyself. Meditation, we have so many misconceptions, but meditation for me, it's my own personal definition. It's a journey back to yourself, to truly know who you are and go back beyond the mind. So you need the mind and then you transcend the mind. But on a beginner's level, it's it's a when you become the witness, like when you just detach from your thoughts, from your emotions, and you realize, you deeply realize, I love this word, that you are beyond them. You're, if you want to say, you have a deeper eye. So you go beyond thoughts, sensations, perceptions, and you go back to the journey of you. So it's you going back to you, but your true self. So it's truly for me a journey back to your true self, pure awareness, consciousness, whatever name works for you.

SPEAKER_00

And um, one of the things that I used to practice when I first started this journey is uh little exercises throughout the day. So I wanted you to share with everyone what are good exercises to be present. So when you get to the meditation, you have already have the sense of exercising your mind. Yeah. To be able to be fantastic.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, that's a wonderful um question. And and I think um I think the our minds are never in the present moment. Your mind is restless, it goes to the past or the future. We are trying time travelers. I always joke, we're always traveling somewhere. So the exercise is to make a statement, an affirmation, or a mantra, if that word works for you. I'm here now. The time is now, and the location is here. So fully arrive in the present moment. So if you do that, your whole life is a meditation. Because you're present, you're aware, and you're awake. Because if you are in the past for the future, you're never here. And who is living your life?

SPEAKER_00

And uh just to close here, last question. Um, for people that are trying out the meditation and they come or they go to a first class and they can't just master the mind to sleep present. Uh, what would you tell those people? Do you think that um in the long run, if they continue to practice, they will get that? Yes. Yeah, you've got the question and the answer.

SPEAKER_01

Sorry. No, it's good. It's good. It's a journey. Right? You come to the gym, you exercise your muscles. Do you wake up one day and you have all your muscles defined and you're like amazing? No, you work every day, you work on your diet, so it's a it's a lifestyle. So you come every day and you make that commitment, and one day when you realize you're fully more present, you're less reactive, you're less stressed, you can connect to your true self, you connect to the present moment. You are more engaged, less resistance, and overall you're happier. So that's it's it's a journey. Remember, every day. It I say there is no wrong meditation. The only wrong meditation is the one you don't do it.

SPEAKER_00

So you cannot never meditate. Exactly. Thank you so much everyone for watching the video. Namaste, namaste. Thank you so much. And that's today's episode. We hope they give you a new perspective on meditation, not as something you have to get right, but as a daily practice of coming back to yourself. Because the goal is not to stop your thoughts completely, it's to change your relationship with them, to move from being caught in the mind to becoming aware of it. And over time, that's what creates more presence, less reactivity, and a deeper connection with who you truly are. If this episode resonated with you, feel free to share with someone who may need the support. And if you have questions about meditation, anxiety, or overthinking that you would like us to talk about, leave them in the comments. We would love to include them in future episodes. Thank you for being here with us on back to wholeness. Remember, this journey is not about becoming someone new, it's about returning to who you truly are. Take what resonated, integrate it into your life, and trust your own process. We will see you in the next episode.
