I know last week we joked around a little bit with the idea of doing a most interesting men in the beer store. We did this. And while this guy that I found for today may not be as cool as Christopher Lee, but I can tell you with a great amount of certainty that this man's a hero. Sometimes that means more than anything else. Absolutely.
SPEAKER_01I agree.
SPEAKER_04So story I've got for you guys today. April of 2026, so last month.
SPEAKER_07Okay.
SPEAKER_04Um this principal's working his normal job like he normally does. Okay. This 20-year-old former student breaks into the school with a gun.
SPEAKER_0320 years old with a gun? Yep. How did he get a gun?
SPEAKER_01Well, 20 year olds, 20 years old breaking into the high school. I graduated when I was 18, so it's like two had two years to work through that shit, too. Yeah, he's a former student.
SPEAKER_03I'm just saying, you can't buy a gun until you're 21. How did he get a gun? You can't buy a pistol, you can buy a long time. That's a joke off some of the laws of China. That's impossible. You can't have a gun. It's illegal. It's illegal. It's illegal. You can't even be there. No shit.
SPEAKER_04So this kid walks into, let me get the name of the school right. This is Paul's Valley High School in Oklahoma. All right. This former student walks into the school four-year armed with two semi-automatic handguns. Um court documents later revealed he was severely obsessed with the 1999 Columbine shooting. And he went to the school with the explicit intent to kill students, faculty, and specifically Principal Moore, whom he reportedly held a grudge against. So this kid comes into school visibly brandishing his firearms. Okay. Principal Moore comes sprinting out of his office. Mind you, Principal Moore is 60 years old. So uh our principal here, his name's Kirk Moore. He is uh 60 years old, he has 37 years of being a principal. Uh in the school system is between a teacher and a principal administration, that kind of thing.
SPEAKER_01Gotcha.
SPEAKER_04He runs across the foyer, tackles this kid into one of the benches on the front. He gets shot in the lower leg on the in the melee. Wow.
SPEAKER_03So I I do remember seeing the video to this. Um, I did not know he was shot. Yeah, he got shot in the lower leg, but he did a really great job of sacrificing it all if he had to. Um if y'all seen the video, have y'all seen that? I feel like I I feel like I have seen the video. It's it was pretty intense. Uh, and he did a man, he just dove. Yeah, there's no time to think in that situation. And his body just reacts 60 years old. I mean, that's that's impressive in itself. And I hope my daughter has a principal.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, I know, absolutely.
SPEAKER_03You know, uh but that man's a hero, bro.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, and I mean the thing was like even after getting shot, he continued to struggle with this guy and hold him down until the assistant principal could get out there, get the firearm away from him, and the two of those guys killed him until the police showed up.
SPEAKER_03Man, so I would like cowered down and got scared and just it would have been open season.
SPEAKER_04Oh, absolutely.
SPEAKER_02That's crazy.
SPEAKER_04Because I mean, you know, he's got he's got two semi-automatic handguns. He doesn't say anything about how many clips he's carrying on him outside of that. Yeah. So I mean, you know, if it's just a standard one, you know, my clock holds, you know, 12 plus one. So I mean, who knows what kind of magazines we're talking about here, how much you know, potential bloodshed.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, absolutely. That's crazy, man.
SPEAKER_01That's crazy. And the the thing is, is like, man, times are different. And I know Columbine happened a long time ago. I think Columbine happened before I was alive. It did. But I don't know if it's the area that I grew up in. Um, because I'm younger than you guys, so I'm sure even for you, this is more true. Some of my best friends in the world are dudes that I met in school with us beefing. And we either fought each other in school or it was settled through words, or however it got settled, it got settled. But it was there was never a a threat of I'm gonna stab you or I'm gonna shoot you. It we're gonna fight, and if if you whip my ass, you whip my ass. You had a good school. But you're gonna have to do it. Now, stuff was said like that.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, you know. I had a guy bring a knife to school to find me. I was at trade school. I didn't know anything about it until I got back from trade school and the cops were there. Huh. He had shown somebody a knife and said he'd asked where I was, and that he was gonna kill me over a girl. Yeah, of course. The dude went to a different school. He was trying to transfer in just because we were beefing. Yeah, that's weird. We've seen each other a thousand times. We could have fought, never happened, you know. But I I don't know what he may have just been having a mental breakdown. We talked years later about this, shook hands, high-fived. It was BS, but he straight up got in a lot of trouble for that. And uh, yeah, cops are called, everybody was like, Oh my god, this dude came to school to kill you. And I was like, Who? And he said his name, I'm not gonna say his name. Uh, but supposedly he had told somebody what he was planning to do, and then you know, cops were called, and I'm I'm getting off the trade school bus in the morning, you know, and everybody's just running up to me like, you know, and uh yeah, they had to call my parents and all it was a whole thing.
SPEAKER_01So well, that's weird.
SPEAKER_03Like when I was I hope his knife's bigger than my knife I brought to school.
SPEAKER_01When I was in high school, there were a couple of students who whether they were being serious or not, I don't know, but made threats essentially. Um, one of them I I remember um while we were in school one day. This is back before it was X, it was just Twitter back then, but somebody tweeted, um, I'm so tired of this shit or whatever. I've got a gun, I've got a gun in my backpack, or or I got a bomb in my backpack. Whatever, whatever they they said.
SPEAKER_03What do I didn't give up? And the school was like, oh, they'll kick me out for this. I'm done with this.
SPEAKER_01I I don't remember what the what the tweet was exactly, but like the school went on lockdown, they found the person, ended up getting expelled. But the thing that I can't understand is I've been really mad at people before. You know, I've been really, really upset with people. When you're in that position, you know, the guy you you said in the article they said they had gr a grudge against the principal. Well, why like if you've got a problem with that one person, why do those students? Like, what did those students ever do to you?
SPEAKER_03No.
SPEAKER_01So that's the I get being upset with an individual. I've been mad with people. I don't know that I won't say that, but um I I I just I don't understand the mentality of let me go to this place and shoot these people who had nothing to do with my situation. If you if you're upset with one person, while I don't think it's good and I don't think it's logical, I I can wrap my mind around being upset with somebody and saying, hey, they've caused me all these problems, I'm gonna go out of my way to try to harm them. But, you know, he graduated if he's 20 years old, that means he graduated two years ago. Or if he's like me, he graduated two years ago. So the great likelihood is that anybody that caused you any problems or that you had a beef with is gone from that school.
SPEAKER_05No.
SPEAKER_01You know, so I I don't I don't know. I it's just evil, and I mean I I'm not gonna try to sit here and understand evil things, but it's just it's really sad, man. It's really sad. And you know, the the the problem with this is that they're gonna this situation will somehow get turned into uh well if he didn't have guns, this wouldn't be a problem. I mean, very very clearly this individual's very not well. Um and um, you know, we've seen in other places if they don't have a gun, they'll use a knife or they'll make a bomb. So I just think sometimes s stuff like this, rather than being addressed where it's like, hey, this jill this this young man, because he's 20, he's young, man. Even to me, I'm only a couple of years older than him, but man, a 20-year-old's a kid. You know, so that's just a kid that was hurting and now his whole life is is fucked.
SPEAKER_03Um it's a sad situation both ways, man.
SPEAKER_04Yeah. I mean, I just I can't fathom right like okay, so you got a beef against him. That's fine. Yeah. But like you literally never have to see this man again. You never have to go into a meeting in his office, you never have to have a report card signed, you never have to do any of that stuff. In fact, you could just leave. Yeah. Just be done. Just be done with it. Just just not live in that city anymore. Yeah. And yet he chose violence. And I think that that's that's the bigger issue. But I don't want to spend too much time on people who make stupid decisions like that and try to cost other people their life. I think um it's a much bigger thing that we talk about principle more here.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, man. You're you're talking about a a dude who I I you know, as some I don't have any kids. I don't, um, I don't have any interest in having any kids. But one thing I will say is um I taught kids for a long time, and I will tell you from experience, from competing um in front of my students. Um I'll tell a quick story, but uh the first match I ever had at Bluebelt, I got promoted. I had just started teaching. We went and did a tournament. I probably had 15 students competing with me. Uh Kinsley was training at this time. Um, and I went to this tournament, dude. I cut so much weight that day. I cut like six pounds 15 minutes before I had to fight. So I was terrible. But like I'm cutting weight and trying to coach my students. So I have on like three layers of clothes. I'm like screaming at the students and stuff.
SPEAKER_03Sweating beyond just feeling terrible.
SPEAKER_01Well, I get all of my students coached through. They all did a fantastic job. And uh I'm taking all my clothes off so I can weigh in. By the time I get all my clothes taken off, I literally don't care. Like I put my ghee on, I tie my belt, I check my weight, I made weight, walk up to the mat, and like all of my students are sitting on the edge of the mat, and I could care less about the dude standing in front of me. And I ended up losing. I ended up losing this uh this match.
SPEAKER_03But probably because you were so tired.
SPEAKER_01I was so dehydrated and I was tired, man. I had been screaming and coaching, but I distinctly remember I had a student who was very, very close to me. Um, I spent a ton of time with this student, and she's still very near and dear to my heart. But after I lost, I looked over, you know, because they turn you around and they raise whoever won gets their hand raised or whatever. Well, uh, they raise the other guy's hand, and I'm looking at my students and like I have a smile on my face. I'm not upset because again, I just didn't care. And all of my students are like looking at me like very supportingly, and this one student is sobbing uncontrollably. And so I get off the mat and I walk over and I I hug her and I'm like, hey, what's wrong? Whispering in her ear, he cheated.
SPEAKER_03Like, coach, you lost, and you look sad. I'm like, no, I'm okay. I um I'm gonna kill him in the parking lot, baby. It's okay.
SPEAKER_01I immediately did not care whatsoever about me losing, and it was just solely like, hey, how can I comfort this child and make this child okay?
SPEAKER_07Yeah.
SPEAKER_01So I I really I have a lot of admiration for this principal because in that moment, he didn't have to think. There was no contemplation. It was, I have to stop this right now, or these kids are gonna get hurt. Right. And I think if our entire society had that mindset of like, hey, I don't care what happens right now, right? You're not touching these kids, you're not hurting these kids. Um maybe that place that he was in, you know, the guy who committed these actions, if every adult had that mentality, maybe he never would have got to a position where he felt like he had to make that choice. Somebody along the way, you feel like failed him. I think that children, in my opinion, children are born good. Things happen to them, or people happen to them that lead them down a path.
SPEAKER_07Right.
SPEAKER_01So somewhere along the line, be it his parents or uh an educator, uh, an influence, whatever it was, I don't know. Some person who had the opportunity to be a positive influence in his life was a negative influence.
SPEAKER_03Yeah.
SPEAKER_01And whether that was one person or 20 people.
SPEAKER_03Yeah.
SPEAKER_01Um, at the end of the day, I think that's all it boils down to.
SPEAKER_03And it's sad there's so many situations like that, man. You never know what kids are going through.
SPEAKER_01100%.
SPEAKER_04You know, it it's a wild thing, right? Like I've got almost a decade in the education system. Yeah, you know, before I do what I do now. But um I I think I was very grateful or very lucky at least, that a lot of the administrators I worked with, the assistant principals, the principals, they were the kind of people that actually cared about the students. Yeah, 100%. It's not just a paycheck. Yeah. Because it it seems like now a lot of times you've got people that are in roles just to be in roles or to uh get some sort of um you know satisfaction that maybe they were the bullied kid in school, so now I'm gonna be an administrator and bully all the cool kids and stuff like that. And yeah, um, I've seen that as well.
SPEAKER_03But um well, in the same respect, you know, a lot of a lot of teachers take these jobs with a good heart in mind, and then things happen to them along the way where they just start to lose hope and lose faith. And and that works for many different professions. Um, you know, they say bad police officers or something like that. They they probably didn't start that way. A lot of them, you know. I've met I've met great cops and I've met bad cops. Yep.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. But I've met bad cops that started as good cops. Yeah. They I think everybody, well, I won't say everybody, but I think most people go about their lives trying to do the right thing. Now, some people their compass is wrong, you know, in their mind the right thing is wholeheartedly wrong, but I don't I don't think many, many people walk this earth with ill intent. Right. And that might be optimistic of me, that might be naive, but um, you know, I think this principle has set an example and and shown us that there are certain things that are just non-negotiable. And to me, part of uh, you know, we've talked about this topic before, but part of being being a man um in in our society, I feel like that's part of it. You know, sometimes you sometimes you gotta step up and it it makes me happy to know that there are still people out there in the world that you know he very easily could have been shot and died. Yeah, you know, he was shot in the lower leg, but I mean, even if he's shot in his thigh, you know, there's so many different injuries that you can have there that are life-threatening. And as a 60-year-old man, he probably could have just locked his office door, you know.
SPEAKER_03Well, yeah, when you see something like that, you know, there's other videos, uh, similar situations where they they just get scared and they're like, oh, I I have to get away from the situation. Yeah. It's hard to find those few heroes, man, that jump on it. Yeah.
SPEAKER_04You know, they you know, that's that's uh but shout out principal more, man. Yeah, shout out. They say it's um you know, it's a real defining characteristic of a hero when gunshots are fired. Yeah, and you see which way somebody's running. Absolutely. Absolutely. Absolutely. So I think with the permission of you guys, I would like to nominate Principal Kirk Moore for a place in the most interesting men in the beer store.
SPEAKER_01Absolutely coolest dude in the beer store in my book, for sure.
SPEAKER_04Somehow, Principal Moore, if you ever hear this episode and hear us talking good about you, um, reach out to us through Facebook, triptothebeer store at gmail.com. We'd love to hear from you. We'd love to get talked to you with the if the opportunity presents itself.
SPEAKER_03Yeah. Love drinking beer with you, bud. He's he's uh he's a big timer now, guys. He's he's a big hero.
SPEAKER_04I mean, he's a hero now. Small timer small, you know.
SPEAKER_03But uh talking about interesting men, um, this is uh something I seen online um was it yesterday or something like that. Anyway, I just thought it was funny. I'm gonna try to break it down as quick as possible. But the story goes, there is these uh this guy in the military who uh joined the military and uh they immediately made him that sounds so good.
SPEAKER_01Immediately made him that's the crisp sound of a baple, if anybody was wondering.
SPEAKER_03They made him a lifeguard on uh one of the forts, right? So he did it wasn't a job that he wanted, but that was that was the that was he was just given. So one weekend he was like, I gotta get away. So and I'm gonna get some of this wrong, but I'm trying to breeze through it. Um so he uh jumps on a military plane because uh being in the military, he had the rights to fly anywhere he wanted to go. So we had a plan, he was flying out to do something. Um, well, there was no flight back, so he was trying to find a way back because he had to be on ship. Some hangover movie type shit. Right, right. So we're gonna call we're gonna call this guy uh Anderson or something. Um so Anderson uh meets with a guy taking a bomber plane back to the base. So he he begs the guy, it's a one-seater plane, but there's a tiny little area in the back uh around all the electronics that he can scoot. And he's like, I can get in here and ball up and you, you know. He's like, no, no. So but eventually he talks this pilot into letting him do this. So he puts him in this little area and he's squished up in there, right? Closes the door, locks it, whatever, gets in the plane, they take off. Um upon leaving the ground, the door flies open, and he's trying his best to get it to close, but he couldn't get it to close. So they fly up to an altitude where he starts to lose consciousness. So all he knows is all he knows is he lost consciousness, uh, begins to pass out. The guy flying the plane notices halfway through that he doesn't have the fuel to make it and he's over water. So he uh he's going down, they're losing fuel. As he loses altitude, the guy wakes up. They wreck the plane in the water. Both survive. They get out and they're swimming, they got two rafts out of the plane. They're floating, they pull out a compass, one of them had a compass, and they just start heading in the direction they were supposed to go. So they're paddling, they're paddling, they're paddling. Well, the waves get choppy. They're off the coast of California, and it's choppy. Anderson slings out of his buoy and cannot get back to it. And the other guy's so far away he can't get to him. He's swimming, swimming, and swimming. He's like, I'm I'm in the shark-infested waters off the coast of California. He sees a light, it's like two miles out. He swims and swims and swims. I mean, till he's cramping. And and losing his breath. But then he notices he's getting closer. He's doing something. And he gave it his all. Finally gets to shore. Crawls to the light. I think it was a radio station or something. They called the Coast Guard. Coast Guard has already found the other guy. Now, there's no crazy end to the story. But that was Clint Eastwood. Really? When I heard it, I was like, that's insane. And at the end, he was like, that was uh an experience Clint Eastwood had in the military.
SPEAKER_01That's super cool.
SPEAKER_03And I just thought that was interesting.
SPEAKER_01Because he's already one of the most interesting dudes. Absolutely.
SPEAKER_03Everything he's done and comp and accomplished.
SPEAKER_01Have y'all watched that? Uh it's not new now, but if I haven't watched a movie, it's new to me. You know what I mean? Like if it came out five years ago, but I hadn't watched it, still it's new. Um he had a movie called The Mule. I haven't watched it yet. Is it pretty good? Should I watch it? Yes, you should.
SPEAKER_03Okay, I'm gonna I'll I don't know that he I don't know that Clint Eastwood has a terrible movie.
SPEAKER_01You know what is one of my favorite Clint Eastwood movies that some people will disagree with, but I think it is one of the coolest, well-written, funny at times, sad at times movies ever. Gran Torino.
SPEAKER_03Torino, Grand Torino is an amazing movie.
SPEAKER_01Fantastic movie. That ending the diversity and bringing people together and just the story of that. Oh, it's great. And the end of that movie is one of the most badass. I won't spoil it in case you haven't watched it, but the ending Well, and you're talking about heroes.
SPEAKER_03It's got a great ending. Yeah. Um, I love the fact that he made his son a little street thug in that.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_03Little little long white t-shirt. I love that fact.
SPEAKER_01So on the opposite of this, right? Uh completely unrelated, but we're talking about heroes. One of my good good buddies um recently, and I won't say his name. Yeah, but I am gonna tell this story, and if he listens to the podcast and he's mad at me, it'll be what it is. Do y'all remember Eight Mile with Eminem?
SPEAKER_03How can you not remember Eight Mile?
SPEAKER_01What is his name? Jim Bob? Slim Bob? Oh, uh Cheddarbob. Cheddarbob. Well, you know, in the movie Eight Mile, Cheddar Bob shoots himself. Yes, he does.
SPEAKER_03A very MC Bob.
SPEAKER_01Very, very good buddy of mine. And I'm not gonna name him.
SPEAKER_03No, he didn't.
SPEAKER_01He is Walker County famous right now.
SPEAKER_03Oh because is this the police officer?
SPEAKER_01No. Okay, there's a couple of them. A he is Walker County famous because he took another friend shooting who had never shot guns before. And while shooting, his friend encountered a stovepipe shooting a handgun. If you're not sure what a stovepipe is, it's it's a type of jam. So his handgun jammed. Well, he wasn't able to clear it. So my buddy walks over to try to clear the jam for him. And as he walks over to try to take the firearm from him, the stovepipe clears and the firearm goes off while it was in my buddy's hands. So, by definition, he didn't shoot himself. He has shot himself, and it entered um right behind his kneecap. Oh god, and exited out his mid-calf. Luckily, did not hit anything important, no bones, no major vessels for us or anything. Went through and through.
SPEAKER_03Lucky. But that hurts.
SPEAKER_01He that hurts. He sat down, called 911, and they said, 911, what's your emergency? And he said very calmly, I shot myself. And uh he's good. If you hear this now, buddy. Uh I'm sorry, you sent me the pictures. They were really gross. Thank you for that. Um, but some people are heroes.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, I I knew a guy that was trying to sell a gun in Walmart parking lot and shot himself, went in the top of his leg, out behind his thigh, into his calf, out of the front of his shin, and into his ankle.
SPEAKER_01That's some good ammo right there.
SPEAKER_04Good penetration. We'll have to add a new section to the beer store and call it the most idiotic beer store.
SPEAKER_01That's a tough, that's a tough way, man. I went to school with a guy. His nickname was Lucky. Because he was squirreling one day and he shot off three of his toes. Uh don't know why we called him Lucky, but that was a good thing.

SPEAKER_06Life comes to you fast on these southern roads. Ridings have the fun when the stories unfold. Life lessons in the piphanies before the brew folds, but the burdens get a lot of reserve.
SPEAKER_04Boys, I think we need to get somebody with some talent to get us a couple of uh what do they call them? Little zingers? Little little write-ins, you know? Yeah, yeah. Because we need a super cool little intro song for like the beer story or the beer segment.
SPEAKER_01Oh, that's a good idea.
SPEAKER_04And I mean, it is a way for the community, you know, to give us a little something. You know a guy? My brother. Uncle Dave. Well, I mean, he wrote the theme song. We can give some other people some chances too.
SPEAKER_01You know what would be cool, Kaylin? And this is totally on you. Before we do the beer review, you should do like one of the old school door jingles. You know, when you like walk into the door and it moves the bells, yeah. And like edit that in. Oh, that'd be great. Jing Jing. Today on a trip to the beer store, we're doing the halo. Oh, yeah, that's a good idea too. Uncle Lane. So last episode we did a Memphis brewery because you were over at the Great Bass Pro Shop Pyramid. Absolutely. What are we drinking on today?
SPEAKER_04Man, I think we have a new contender for potentially the coolest can on the show.
SPEAKER_01It's a really cool can.
SPEAKER_04So I would agree. Today we are going to be drinking King of the Mountain by Martin House Brewing Company out of Fort Worth, Texas. So King of the Mountain is a hot chocolate-inspired porter with cocoa powder and marshmallows. Coming in at a 6% ABV, it's nothing to sneeze at.
SPEAKER_01It's a really, really cool can.
SPEAKER_04Yeah. I mean, is that Santa Claus in uh a Hawaiian shirt?
SPEAKER_03I believe that is Santa Claus in a Hawaiian shirt with penguins.
SPEAKER_01He's pretty cool, man. He's pretty lovely.
SPEAKER_03That's pretty cool. Let's dive off into this. Yeah, let's see about it.
SPEAKER_04It's not beat around the bush.
SPEAKER_03It smells lovely.
SPEAKER_02It really does. It smells like Christmas. Cheers, boys. Cheers.
SPEAKER_04I'm gonna need about 15 more of these boys. Oh my god.
SPEAKER_01They said hot chocolate inspired. That's hot chocolate right there.
SPEAKER_04That is well, it's cold chocolate. You get the idea.
SPEAKER_01That's gonna be a problem.
SPEAKER_04That is a problem. Boys.
SPEAKER_03God. We're about to just sit here and suck these down.
SPEAKER_04I don't even know what to say.
SPEAKER_01That's really, really good.
SPEAKER_03That's gonna be really bad for me. Six percent.
SPEAKER_04I know you're not a big beer guy, but that don't even taste like a beer, brother. Chocolate.
SPEAKER_01That's like a little chocolate. So I have a problem a lot of times with like different types of beers saying chocolatey or different notes in them, and you'll taste them and you're like, I don't taste that at all. It's the opposite with this one. This is hot chocolate inspired. That is boozy hot chocolate. That's so good.
SPEAKER_04I mean, like, we're not talking about like when we had vanilla fent early on, and like we're trying to figure out a way to stop there's vanilla in it.
SPEAKER_03It's not a cocoa taste, it's just straight chocolate. Chocolate. No, that's really good. Yeah, I mean, I'm and it's not bitter at the end.
SPEAKER_04Oh man. I'm Chris, David, I know you're listening, and I need you to go over to Fort Worth and hop on this Martin House brew and get you some King of the Mountain.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, no, it's worth a trip. If you're within like an hour, it's worth a trip, I think.
SPEAKER_04Chris is in Relette and David's in Dallas.
SPEAKER_01So yeah, y'all should go. But that brewery may be widespread enough that they can find it. Oh, I'm sure they can just go to um y'all make a trip down to the beer store and find that's right.
SPEAKER_04And just go look at the king in the mountain. Go ahead and dance with that a little bit.
SPEAKER_03Man, you imagine this in the winter.
SPEAKER_01Oh my god. God's gonna love that. Can you imagine this? So time out, just hear me out. Imagine this. It's like 40 degrees, a little breezy, and there's a big ass bonfire going.
SPEAKER_03I would drink this hot as crap any day of the week.
SPEAKER_04Like, I would almost argue that we need to like throw a couple of these in like a can.
SPEAKER_03It's gonna be a big score because I I'm blown away by this.
SPEAKER_04Uh I am so pleasantly surprised. Like, I bought it solely based on the can.
SPEAKER_03Let's uh let's throw a score out there. What do you think?
SPEAKER_01Guys, this may be this may be crazy. I can't imagine anything making this beer better. I think it has to I think it has to have a perfect score.
SPEAKER_04I can tell you what would make it better, in my opinion.
SPEAKER_01Okay, tell me.
SPEAKER_04So just hear me out here. You get this off a tap. Okay, you get your nice little draft, and somebody puts the little baby marshmallows on top of it for you.
SPEAKER_01I don't I don't know that I agree with that. What I would do if it was on draft, get it on draft and drop a shot of Bailey's in it.
SPEAKER_07Oh, yeah, that 100%.
SPEAKER_01But as far as look, our criteria is not that though. Because we said very early on, we're gonna open the container it comes in and we're gonna drink it. Yep. Just like that, I think it's gotta get a five.
SPEAKER_03Well, buddy, it's a five. I am not far behind you when I say five, also. I think it's a five. That is that that has blown me away. It's delicious. It's so good.
SPEAKER_04So um, I told you guys early on when you guys gave the five to the porridge light that I was saving my five for something special. And I think I found something special to give my first five star to, and that's gonna be the king of the mountain.
SPEAKER_01Is this a five across the board?
SPEAKER_04This is a five across the board, but five's across the board.
SPEAKER_01Five across the board. Yeah, dude, it's stupid. That's very, very good.
SPEAKER_04Like, don't get me wrong, this was an expensive beer. I think it was like 14 bucks for a six-pack.
SPEAKER_01I'd pay it.
SPEAKER_04But I will gladly pay that for another for a reason.
SPEAKER_03Yeah.
SPEAKER_01No, that's delicious. So I think this is important too. It has a very, very cool can.
SPEAKER_04Yep.
SPEAKER_01It has a great flavor profile. It's not too, too stout. I think it's great. But stout. It's fantastic. No complaints whatsoever. Um it's got Santa Claus on it, dude. Martin House Brewing Company.
SPEAKER_04Out of Fort Worth, Texas.
SPEAKER_01Has done a fantastic job. If you like porters, and even if you don't like porters, y'all need to try to track this beer down.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, and I uh I picked it up at Tammy's, so shout out to Tammy.
SPEAKER_03Shout out to Tammy has it. You have got to go get it.
SPEAKER_04If you're in the Jasper area, you go see Miss Porters.
SPEAKER_03We're about to send everybody.
SPEAKER_04And you tell her that uh and uh Braden from the beer store sent you.
SPEAKER_03That's right.
SPEAKER_01I didn't know she had this at Tammy's.
SPEAKER_03Oh, she's got all the good stuff, brother.
SPEAKER_01Oh all the goody good. Miss Tammy, you might need to order me a couple six packs.
SPEAKER_04I did uh put in an order for her for uh she's gonna talk secret. Well, no, I'll tell you what it is. So whenever it comes out, and you guys probably won't hear it for several weeks after that, but you are you guys familiar with Fair Hope Brewing? A little. I don't think so. Well, obviously they're out of Fair Hope.
SPEAKER_01But I great city of Fair Hope, Alabama.
SPEAKER_04Love Fair Hope. Used to work close to it, but um she's ordering us a sixer of Judge Roy Bean. Give that a shot. And if you like uh stouts, I do like a stout, it's gonna that coffee's gonna punch you right in the nose.
SPEAKER_03And you're gonna love it in a second of it. That's a good thing.
SPEAKER_01Look, this thing is delicious. King of the Mountain is delicious out of a can, but just for a moment, just for a moment, guys. Can you imagine how good this would be on draft with like a big fucking head on top of it?
SPEAKER_04Well, my my concern with it would be it would look like damn syrup coming out of the I don't care. There is there is so much sugar in this thing.
SPEAKER_03It's so good, though. It's so good. So Lane, we got a uh special game to play today.
SPEAKER_04Man, I was so excited about this, guys. So you guys are familiar with the show that starred Alex, Alec Trebek. Alec Trebek for, I don't know, 30 years. Yeah.
SPEAKER_01My entire lifetime, yes.
SPEAKER_04And due to, you know, copyright laws and us not wanting to get into that. Today we're gonna be playing a game called Beer Purdy. Beer pretty. Beer pretty. Um that is also trademarked. It is B-E-R B-E-E-R, P-A-R-D-Y.
SPEAKER_01What you can do is you can just take the word beer and put par D with a D behind it.
SPEAKER_04Which is probably how most people went to high school with spell party. Y'all gonna come back party later. Y'all went to high school. So, today we are gonna be playing beer party. So, are you guys generally familiar with the rules?
SPEAKER_01I am. As an avid lover of Jeopardy.
SPEAKER_03That is not now we're gonna get sued. That is not similar at all. We're allowed to say the name.
SPEAKER_01That is not similar at all to the game that we are playing today. Um as an avid lover of a game that is very similar, but also not at all like the game we're about to play. Um I'm very intimately familiar with this and um took it as a personal challenge as a child playing this game.
SPEAKER_04Oh, yeah. I used to always like I was like eight, nine years old. I'm like, I'm gonna beat these guys.
SPEAKER_03Big so glad to be a good idea. All right, so big trivia guy.
SPEAKER_04So for those of you listening at home who are not familiar exactly with how this works, we have five categories of um answers. And inside of each category, there are five questions valued from 100 to 500 points. The person who has the most points, once all uh have been collected, will be our winner for the day. Once all questions on the board have been answered, we will have final beer party, which is a question where our contestants get to wager a point value based on how many points they have for the opportunity to uh win big or potentially embarrass themselves.
SPEAKER_03Embarrass themselves. It'll probably be embarrassing themselves.
SPEAKER_04So today's categories four beer per day are.
SPEAKER_03Let's go. Commercials and row chambeau for start or it's not gonna matter, but yeah, y'all can row chambeau for start.
SPEAKER_04Um today's topics are commercials and pop culture as they relate to beer. What's style got to do with it as it relates to styles of beer? Science of the Stein. Stars of Walker County. And legends and lore. Gotcha. So the way this will work is whoever starts off, y'all can row Shambeau for it.
SPEAKER_03Let's roch just rock, paper, scissors, shoot. Yeah. Rochambeau.
SPEAKER_04There's a lot of weird noises going on in the background here today. Okay, so now do you want to row Shambeau? Should we start playing now? I'm a little sore. Yeah. So today we will not be penalizing incorrect answers, but if you interrupt my question reading with an answer, you will have to take a chug of you drink. Does that seem fair to everybody? Oh no, I have to drink more of this delicious king of the mountain. You mean to tell me you've got any left? All right. So um, this is not gonna be an alternating thing. It's gonna be who picks the question, whoever gives me the answer correctly first.
SPEAKER_03So we can't call him Alex. No, we need to call him something.
SPEAKER_01Um who do you want? What's your what's your game title?
SPEAKER_03What's your game name? It's gotta rhyme. It's got a rhyme with Alex after talking to Alex.
SPEAKER_04Um I don't know. So, and just uh just a friendly reminder to you listen at home, I will read the answer and our contestants will be responding in the form of a question. So if I said in what this city that we're currently located in um host the Foothill Festival annually, our contestants would answer with, What is Jasper, Alabama?
SPEAKER_01Okay, got it. So and if you don't answer as a question, it doesn't count.
SPEAKER_04Yep. Darn. So which one of you won Rochambeau and whatever else y'all were doing over there on that side of the table? Braden did.
SPEAKER_01All right, Braden. Um, I'm gonna take commercials and pop culture for 500. For 500? Yeah, gotta start out with the big ones, trying to build a commanding lead here.
SPEAKER_04So I will not accept the obvious answer to this question. I want you to pay very close attention to it because 500 points is the hardest question in the category. Okay. This macro brewery famously used a trio of talking frogs named Bud, Wise, and Ur in the 90s.
SPEAKER_01What is Anheuser Busch?
SPEAKER_04That is correct. Hey. 500 points to Braden. They will be responsible for keeping up with their own points.
unknownJesus. Okay.
SPEAKER_03I'm gonna be so bad at this. Y'all got me drunk playing Meperdy over here.
SPEAKER_01Spear party. Let's do commercials in pop culture for 400.
SPEAKER_04For 400. Answer is. He didn't always drink beer, but when he did, this fictional pitch man preferred Dosickies.
SPEAKER_01Oh, I don't know his name. I don't either. What is the most interesting man in the world?
SPEAKER_04I will accept that it's who is the most interesting man in the world, but Oh, so we didn't have to actually name him.
SPEAKER_03No, I thought it was gonna be his actual name. That's what I thought.
SPEAKER_04No, he doesn't have a name. Doesn't have a name. His name is the most interesting man in the world.
SPEAKER_03I'm overthinking these immediately. You just gotta go with it. Um it's okay because I'm gonna lose. You're just about to take every card.
SPEAKER_01Let's do let's stay in the same category for 300.
SPEAKER_04Answer is. Oh, I have no clue. I'm not a Simpsons guy.
SPEAKER_03Oh man, it's been so long. I'm not a Simpsons guy. I have no clue. Um can you repeat? Do we do repeats?
SPEAKER_04I'll repeat it for you guys since it's just us and we're not televised in front of a live studio audience. This fictional radioactive beer brand is the beverage of choice for Homer Simpson at Moe's Tavern.
SPEAKER_03I feel like it's on the tip of my tongue, but I can't. I don't know it. Nah, go ahead. Go ahead.
SPEAKER_04And the answer is duff beer. Yeah, I wouldn't guess that. Duff beer.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, I had no clue. Disappointed. Back to you. Uh I feel like they've gotten harder. I feel like the 500 was easier.
SPEAKER_04Well, I mean, that was a very easy question. I thought everybody knew that one.
SPEAKER_01No, I'm not a Simpsons guy, man. Uh same category for 200.
SPEAKER_04You know, I almost threw in Family Guy instead of The Simpsons, but I'm out of something on that. So, this legendary 2009 Super Bowl ad featured a single second of a man screaming, High Life, to save the company money.
SPEAKER_03What is the Miller High Life commercial?
SPEAKER_04Beautiful! 200 points for K Dog. There you go.
SPEAKER_03Because I would have overthought that. You know what I'm saying?
SPEAKER_04No, these are all very simple and well, I won't say they're all simple, they're very straightforward questions. Gotcha.
SPEAKER_01So now you pick the category and point value. I gotta lean to look.
SPEAKER_03Oh, my apologies. I will take Stars of Walker County for 400. For 400.
SPEAKER_04And arguably, in my opinion, this is the hardest question in the category.
SPEAKER_02Oh my god.
SPEAKER_04Also, just so you know, while I had some assistance writing all the other questions, I wrote all of the questions for Stars of Walker Cabinet.
SPEAKER_03I'm not gonna know this one immediately. He said the hard.
SPEAKER_04So Jasper's Library is named after this eight-consecutive term U.S. House of Representative New Deal Democrat.
SPEAKER_01Who is Barber?
SPEAKER_04It is not Barber. Got a guess? I'm out. Um I have no clue. That would be the one and only. Oh, I didn't write the answer to this question on here. That's not good. But the answer is Carl Elliott. Yeah, I didn't know that. Nope. Okay, dog, back to you.
SPEAKER_03All right. I'm gonna go with stars of Walker County for 100. Okay.
unknownI'm not gonna know it.
SPEAKER_04While not born in Jasper, this actress grew up on a family estate named Sunset. She had an award-winning performance in Hitchcock's lifeboat.
SPEAKER_03What is Tallula? It is Tallula Bank. Oh, there you go. Because uh I knew a little bit of the history about the Tulula and yeah, from Cordova. I'm from Cordova. Yeah, big dead middle school.
SPEAKER_04All right, kiddog. Back to you.
SPEAKER_03It's make it take it. So let's go. Starz Walker County for 300. For 300.
SPEAKER_04I can't remember which this question is, but this actor rose to prominence in 1986, portraying the titular role in Henry, Portrait of a Serial Killer. He is best known for his casting as Merle Dixon in the walking. I didn't know that.
SPEAKER_03And uh I'm a big fan. Yeah, big fan of Michael Rooker.
SPEAKER_04All right. Make it take it.
SPEAKER_03Um let's go with Legends and Lore for 300. For 300.
SPEAKER_04Very middle of the road, dude. You gotta go for the five hundred.
SPEAKER_03Oh no, they were hard.
SPEAKER_04So just so you guys know a little background on Legends and Lore, this is gonna be about breweries all around the country.
SPEAKER_01Oh, gotcha. I'm not gonna know any of those.
SPEAKER_04Um, I have mentioned this brewery multiple times while we have never had it, but just a heads up. Okay. This massive independent craft brewery is based in San Diego and is famous for their aggressive hop forward beers and iconic gargoyle mascot.
SPEAKER_03I don't know if I'm gonna know any of anything like that.
SPEAKER_01Not really what is gargoyle?
SPEAKER_04Oh, I mean, gear closed. What is stone brewing?
SPEAKER_01Stone brewing.
SPEAKER_04Okay. There you go. Make it K take it, K Dog.
SPEAKER_03Um commercials and pop culture for 100. Yeah. I couldn't see them.
SPEAKER_04This massive American brand spent years telling us their beer was great taste, less filling.
SPEAKER_03Um what is Miller?
SPEAKER_04Be more specific.
SPEAKER_03What is Miller like? I knew it was a Miller something.
SPEAKER_01I've never heard that slogan, I don't think.
SPEAKER_04Uh that was their slogan for like years, dude. And that wraps up our commercials and pop culture.
SPEAKER_01Yep. Make it take it.
SPEAKER_03Um, let's go stars of Walker County for 200.
SPEAKER_04You guys should both know this one if you don't. I'm gonna punch you in the nutsack. This retired professional boxer and king of the four-rounder was also famous for appearances in WWE's Brawl for It All, Jackass, and Big Law. What is Butterbean? Who is Butterbean? But yes. Well, yeah. Who, what? I mean, who what man? I love some butterbean. He took care of us when I was in high school. He fed us at football camps and stuff like that. Oh, bean.
SPEAKER_01Um, what's the top category now? What style got to do with it? What style got to do with it? Uh let me have what style got to do with it for five hundo.
SPEAKER_04This dark, strong lager style translates to billygoat in German and is historically consumed by monks during times of fasting. Will you repeat the question? This dark, strong lager style translates to billiger in German and was historically consumed by monks during times of fasting.
SPEAKER_03Is it a style?
SPEAKER_04Yeah, it's a style of beer. So say um ale, a pilsner, uh, you know, those aren't the correct answers, but um I'm trying to think of something German. What is a Bach?
SPEAKER_01Steiner Bach. Oh, what style got to do with it for 400?
SPEAKER_04Trappist monk beers like Chemay and West Valer Valertian belong to this European country's rich high ABB brewing heritage.
SPEAKER_03What is Belgium?
SPEAKER_04That is correct.
SPEAKER_01Damn. I was gonna guess Germany. That was my guess.
SPEAKER_03I almost said Germany. So make it take it. Um let's do What style's got to do with it for 200.
SPEAKER_04Oh no. Oh no.
SPEAKER_03Quickly, look at the answer.
SPEAKER_04This German style's name literally translates to wheat beer, famous for its hazy appearance and banana or clove flavor notes. I have no idea.
SPEAKER_01What repeat the question one more time?
SPEAKER_04This German styles name literally translates to wheat beer, famous for its hazy appearance and banana or clove flavor notes. What is a Hefeweizen?
SPEAKER_03Yeah, never in a million years. I don't know, I've never had one.
SPEAKER_04You have had so many of them in your life, and you just have no clue.
SPEAKER_03Well, never knew. All right, next one never knew Legends and Lore for 200.
SPEAKER_04For 200.
SPEAKER_03And you guys got some hard questions on here. I told you we're too dumb for that.
SPEAKER_04I knew the answer to every one of these except for like two.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, but you're the smart guy. You wasn't supposed to write this.
SPEAKER_04Oh well, you're right. You know, next time you guys host the game, and I get to play some hard ones. Definitely know this question. This Alabama-based brewery, known for its creative southern flair, created a hell-raising high ABV Belgian stout named Stout at the Devil. What's the name of the brewery? What's the name of the brewery?
SPEAKER_03Um oh my god, it's um who who is Avondale? No, no. It's on the tip of my tongue, and I know it. What is straight to ale? Straight to ale. God, I was just about to say it. That gum.
SPEAKER_04Make it take it. Let's do science of stein for 200. This single-celled organism is the magical fungus responsible for consuming sugar and turning it into alcohol and CO2. What is yeast?
SPEAKER_02That is correct.
SPEAKER_01Um, science of the stein for 500. Going deep. I just gotta get them, man. It's going deep.
SPEAKER_04When beer smells distinctly like a skunk, it's usually because ultraviolet light reacted with compounds derived from this specific ingredient.
SPEAKER_01What is hops?
SPEAKER_03That is correct.
SPEAKER_01Dagon. That was a complete guess. Nice. Uh, science of the style for four hundo.
SPEAKER_03For four hundo. Just take the list, you know.
SPEAKER_04Why not? This term, not solely used in brewing of beer, is the process of soaking crushed malted grains in hot water to activate enzymes and extract fermented fermented sugars. What is brining? No, I like where your head's at, though. Damn it. It's a simple word.
SPEAKER_01Repeat the question.
SPEAKER_04This term refers to the process of soaking crushed, emphasis on crushed, malted grains in hot water to activate enzymes and extract fermentable sugars. What is crushing? Head's in the right spot. Yeah. What is mashing?
SPEAKER_01That's correct. That's a moonshine term from where we come from. Um what style got to do with it for three hundo? Well, three hundo. He's beating my eyes out. I don't think so. I think it's very I think it's a lot closer than you think.
SPEAKER_04This sour, salty German wheat beer is traditionally brewed with coriander and is experiencing a massive craft revival.
SPEAKER_03Why are you such hard questions?
SPEAKER_04Say it again. This sour, salty German wheat beer is traditionally brewed with coriander and is experiencing a massive craft revival. What is a sour? Uh no, I like where your head's at, though. Yeah, I have no clue. What is a ghosa? Gosa. Never heard it. Oh, you have. They used to they had them down at twisted forever. What style got to do with it for a hundo? For a hundo. Often associated with Dublin. This dark roasty style of ale uses roasted, unmalted barley to get its signature flavor color or signature black color and coffee-like finish.
unknownWhat is a stout?
SPEAKER_01That is correct. Um, it's the way he words it. You have no idea what he's saying. State of Walker County for 500.
SPEAKER_04So, if anybody gets this one, I will be greatly impressed. I'm talking about a deep cut that not many people know about. Okay. Born on January 19th, 1967, this American guitarist and vocalist gained fame with bands such as Jellyfish, Slash's Snake Pit, Imperial Drag, and Alice Cooper. His nephew is a good friend of mine and friend of the show.
SPEAKER_01I have no clue. When you said Walker County guitarist, my immediate thought was Derek Trucks, but I don't even think he's from Walker County.
SPEAKER_03I don't believe he's the only one I knew of. I don't it wouldn't, I don't think it'd be him because I really don't know any information on him. I just knew that.
SPEAKER_04Well, there's no wrong answers.
SPEAKER_03But I can't remember his name. I knew it was like uh Aaron or Eric or something like that. Yeah, yeah, you're halfway there. Dude, I can never remember his last name. Is his first name Eric?
SPEAKER_04Yeah. The correct answer is Eric Dover. Eric Dover. The uncle of Seth Heron. Shout out Seth Heron. Yeah. I texted him this morning.
SPEAKER_03So that was so the reason God, my mom was telling me about this because my mom was friends with with Seth's dad and was talking about his uncle. And uh all I remember is her saying Eric. And um, and maybe it was like his uncle Eric or something like that, you know? Yeah, and so no, I wouldn't have ever guessed that.
SPEAKER_04Science of the Stein for three hundo. For three hundo. This is a tough one. This was one of the two that I didn't know the answer to. Okay. This is the primary difference between an ale and a lager, specifically regarding how yeast behaves in the tank. Okay. Oh, that's the whole question. That's the whole answer. We repeat it one more time. This is the primary difference between an ale and a lager, specifically regarding how yeast behaves in the tank.
SPEAKER_01What is volume of sugar?
SPEAKER_04I wish. The answer is top versus bottom fermenting, also known as warm versus cold fermenting. Yeah, I wouldn't have known. I expect better out if you guys need to get your we're not scientists. You need to get your knowledge up. Science of the Stein for 100. I know.
SPEAKER_03You shouldn't ask some dumber questions. Well, what's good beer and what's bad beer?
SPEAKER_01I feel like we've missed more than we've made.
SPEAKER_03But that's all right. I got a thin little stack of beer. There's nothing happening.
SPEAKER_04All right. I got great faith in you guys for this question. This three-letter acronym is the universal scale used by brewers to measure a beer's chemical bitterness. Oh, we talked about this.
SPEAKER_03Um we've we have.
SPEAKER_01What? What is IBU? That is correct! I wanted to say IBA, but that is not.
SPEAKER_04All right. We're gonna start. We're gonna run through here legends of the lore, Legends and Lore for 100.
SPEAKER_01Okay.
SPEAKER_04I think I also wrote this question. Hailing from Pottsville, Pennsylvania. This brewery is the oldest in the United States and currently operated by the family's sixth generation of brewers.
SPEAKER_03What is gingling? That is correct.
SPEAKER_04My wife's gonna be mad. Yeah, that I didn't get that. All right, Legends and Lore 500. I don't think you guys will get this one, but we'll see. Ouchy. This highly sought-after double IPA from Russian River Brewing is released only once per year, causing massive lines of beer nerds.
SPEAKER_01It's an IPA, so they're wrong. I agree. What is nerds stupid?
SPEAKER_04What is stupid?
SPEAKER_03What is ignorance? I don't know.
SPEAKER_04The answer is Pliny the Younger. Yeah. Never in a million. All right. I'm gonna need you guys to get your beer knowledge of it.
SPEAKER_03Dude, his stack's so much bigger than mine.
SPEAKER_04Well, and your wiener is so much bigger than mine, but I don't brag about it. All right, and this was the other question I didn't know the answer to. This Massachusetts brewery is widely credited with kickstarting the modern New England IPA craze with its legendary beer heady topper.
SPEAKER_01Don't know it.
SPEAKER_04What is The Alchemist?
SPEAKER_01The Alchemist. All right, boys. You got to count up your points.
SPEAKER_04Count up your points and uh let me know how you did.
SPEAKER_01And so the way this question works is you have to wager a certain amount of your points that you'll know the answer.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, I don't have that many. I only have 1,200 points.
SPEAKER_01I've only got two thousand. Yeah. So we're close. I mean, that's not bad.
SPEAKER_04Winner, winner, winner.
SPEAKER_01No, you there's one more question.
SPEAKER_04Oh, is there? Yeah, so this is how it works. This is final beer pretty. Oh, so you are going to wager.
SPEAKER_01So how many points is this worth?
SPEAKER_04However many.
SPEAKER_01However many you wager. So if you wanted to beat me, you would have an all in. All in by K Dog? So if he if I don't get it right, I can only wait. I can only wager.
SPEAKER_03You can only wager 12, right?
SPEAKER_01What I can do if I No, he can wager as much as he wants. I can I can wager as much, but I can since I'm ahead, I can only wager a little bit. That way, if I miss it, I can still win. I'm gonna. I'm I've lost either. I mean No, because what if you know the what if you instantaneously know the answer?
SPEAKER_03And uh I'm saying that if I would go.
SPEAKER_04If it helps you, if it helps you out. The category for today's beer pretty is historic firsts.
SPEAKER_01Oh God. Never happened to me. You know what? He went all in. I'll go all in on my two 2000.
SPEAKER_04You do realize that if both of you finish at zero, it just makes us all look dumb here.
SPEAKER_03I'm fine with it. I look dumb when I started.
SPEAKER_04All right, so I want you guys first. Historic first. Listen closely. I'll read it twice. In 1935, the Crewer Brewing Company made history by selling the first beer packaged in this specific type of container.
SPEAKER_03I'm gonna need you to repeat it in one second.
SPEAKER_04In 1935, the Crewer Brewing Company made history by selling the first beer packaged in this specific type of container.
SPEAKER_03What? Oh, you only get one shot, right? And you lose it all.
SPEAKER_04Well, I mean, yeah, you only get one shot. Or you're not gonna go until you get it. Well, after both of you answer, we've got our point. No, for example, I'm not going to I'm not going to tell you the correct answer until both of you have answered.
SPEAKER_01What is a can? Okay. What is a bottle?
SPEAKER_04And you both lose. Damn. So answers I would have accepted was pull tab or a flat top metal can. 1935 was the first time, and if you've if you've seen the old beer cans where you literally pulled the whole top off of it. Gotcha. So we both lose?
SPEAKER_03Well, I thought it was less specific, I guess.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. Well, so so what is a what is a pull top can? Not a pop top can.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, not what we drink out of today. Where you pull the whole like a can of tomato soup. Yep. The whole, well, it was it was really specific because there would be like a little hook on it, like with your normal tab, but you pulled it and the whole thing came off, and you just had a little mouthpiece left.
SPEAKER_01This game was fixed. Gotcha. Gotcha. I remember PBR cans like that.
SPEAKER_04This game was fixed. And as we wrap up the show today, I have some absolutely heartbreaking news, you guys. Oh yeah. After a hundred and seventeen years. PBR is discontinuing slits beer.
SPEAKER_01Really? No, we talked about this at work today. I remember that. That's unfortunate.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, I need to go find some because I've never had a slitz before.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, let's find some before they discontinue. Yeah. We'll review it on the show.
SPEAKER_04Heck yeah. I mean, we won't review it on the show, but yeah. Well, we'll drink them.
SPEAKER_01Guys, I'm sorry. I hope y'all learned something. Uh, one of my favorite things about uh this the game that rhymes with Beppardy is uh uh that you learn a lot of stuff. So hopefully I've learned a lot.
SPEAKER_03Hopefully, you learned a lot of stuff. Very disappointed in Lane writing these terrible questions. They weren't terrible, they were great questions, but I wasn't ready. I was I was asleep, brother.
SPEAKER_04I mean, it's okay. I told you guys like three days ago to study up on your beer knot.
SPEAKER_03That's what I did not do. Well, and I'm a little I will say this, Lane. I'm a little disappointed in some of the uh fame from Walker County not being in there. So I'm hoping we might get another crack at this. Yeah, we should play this game again because there's a lot more famous people from Walker County.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, I will go back and I will uh we'll we'll do it again, we'll do some different categories, we'll um change it up, maybe not do strictly beer-related stuff, but um, you know, we had a good time, which was fun.
SPEAKER_03Everybody lost everything in the end, so pride and dignity.
SPEAKER_01I'm left with like two steps left of the king of the mountain.
SPEAKER_04The king of the mountain is so good.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, go go see Tammy and buy some beer.
SPEAKER_04All right, you know, check us out on Facebook, listen to us on Spotify, Apple Music or Apple Podcast, Amazon Music, and shoot us an email over at a triptothebeerstore gmail.com. Tell us what we did good, what we did bad, and where we screwed up.
SPEAKER_03And we'll see you next week. Oh shit, I wasn't recording any of this.
