Welcome to another episode of It's a Kids Wild Podcast. It is November 13th, 2025. We got about what we got about three episodes left. Four. Today, when we come back from Thanksgiving break and probably two in December, then we'll take a break, come back fresh in January. Um we do got some merch, some merch on the way. We got some stuff that we're selling in December for our little school penguin store. Uh we have a small business that gives us things to sell for the kids, you know, uh to shop for their parents, grandparents, whoever, but this year we're actually incorporating some into kids world stuff um into it, and then we're going to sell it, and then the proceeds will go towards something positive. We haven't decided what the money will go towards yet, but we're going to do something um special in some type of capacity. So we'll be sure to talk about that in December, as December is shortly going to be here soon. So, um, how you feeling this morning?
SPEAKER_01Good.
SPEAKER_00I don't know why she's talking like this. Um she's sitting in here with this hoodie on, like she's a rapper or something.
SPEAKER_01My face is cold.
SPEAKER_00It's not even cold in here.
SPEAKER_01It is.
SPEAKER_00It's not cold in here. But we kind of talked about it earlier. This St. Louis weather is most definitely all over the place. So if you in St. Louis, you know what we're talking about. It's just, it's too much. But I mean, I've gotten used to it. So, but what's your favorite season?
SPEAKER_01Summer and spring. A little bit of winter.
SPEAKER_00Okay, why spring? Well, I guess because your birthday in the spring. Why summer?
SPEAKER_01Because no school, summer break.
SPEAKER_00Mm-hmm. Y'all always vacation in the summer? Or I know you always go somewhere for your birthday. You gotta think about it.
SPEAKER_01Yes. Sometimes. Sometimes.
SPEAKER_00When the last time y'all took a trip somewhere?
SPEAKER_01We went to uh Punta Cana.
SPEAKER_00Oh, yeah, I remember you did say that. Yeah, that sounds like fun. So that's warm worth I need to be a part of. I think this year, for like the Christmas holidays, I'm going somewhere warm. I ain't I ain't staying here. I'm not about to be here. This snow is not about to catch me. Like, I'm I'm gonna be.
SPEAKER_01You're gonna be running from it.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, most definitely gonna be running from it because I'm not about to stay around it. Nah, so um, you got something important coming up. You want to talk about it real quick? I'm gonna give you the give you the floor to talk about it.
SPEAKER_01I'm getting baptized.
SPEAKER_00I'm gonna give you the floor to talk about it.
SPEAKER_01What?
SPEAKER_00You do do you know what that even means? Or do you even know?
SPEAKER_01That means when uh God forgive you for all the stuff you've done.
SPEAKER_00Okay. What stuff have you done that you need forgiveness for?
SPEAKER_01That's not why I'm getting baptized. I just want to get baptized.
SPEAKER_00You're getting baptized for the wrong reason. Are they forcing you to get baptized?
SPEAKER_01No.
SPEAKER_00Somebody is making you get baptized.
SPEAKER_01No, it's not. I want to get baptized.
SPEAKER_00Wow, you just want to eat the eat the cracker and drink.
SPEAKER_01No, I want to get baptized. I want to get baptized.
SPEAKER_00Okay. That's what you, you know. My people made me get baptized. In Mississippi, they was like, you gonna get baptized Sunday. I said, I gotta get in that water, yeah. I'm like, I'm not ready for that. You gonna get baptized. So that so my people made me.
SPEAKER_01I ain't got nothing to do with that.
SPEAKER_00I understand. But it was, you know, it was a beautiful feeling, though. Are you prepared for it? Have you been thinking about it?
SPEAKER_01Uh yes. I keep singing the song they sing after we get baptized.
SPEAKER_00What's the song?
SPEAKER_01I know uh I only know a tiny bit of give us a tiny bit of the song. You are baptized.
SPEAKER_00That's the only part you know, you are baptized. I thought it's to be baptized. Not you are baptized because you're about to be baptized.
SPEAKER_01No, I say after.
SPEAKER_00I guess. Okay. Well, um, I'm so happy for you. I'm glad that you're excited about it, and I hope that it, you know, becomes a part of you that's more than just going through the process. I hope you, you know, grow up to actually learn what that means and what that uh stands for. How do you feel about church? Like good. You like to go to church?
SPEAKER_01Yes.
SPEAKER_00How often do you go?
SPEAKER_01Uh I used it used to be that uh before we had children church, I used to do, and like the days, first some days, the days we didn't have children church, I would ask my auntie uh if I could spend a night with her because I didn't have uh children church. But now I don't do that. I watch Pastor Tate, my pastor, preach. I watch him preach now.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, and you enjoy it? Yes. That's good. I grew up in the church too, like, especially um background from like I grew up, so I love church. Do you actually pay attention or do you be going to sleep or be talking about?
SPEAKER_01I be paying tense.
SPEAKER_00You actually pay attention?
SPEAKER_01Yes.
SPEAKER_00Tell me one thing you don't learn in church lately.
SPEAKER_01Children church or church?
SPEAKER_00Don't matter. As long as you're in the Lord's house, whatever you've learned, please tell me one thing that you've learned.
SPEAKER_01We learned about the armor of God and the fruit of the spirit.
SPEAKER_00Girl, you better talk your talk.
SPEAKER_01Okay.
SPEAKER_00Do you have like talks with your um with your people at home about it? Or is it kind of just like whatever you learn in church, you listen at church, and you just take that with you?
SPEAKER_01I uh my grandma does shoot at church, so I be with her. So I be asking her what we doing today, Esther.
SPEAKER_00And she kind of just like tells you and talk to you about it.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_00That's dope. Shout out to Granny, you know what I'm saying? That's that's real good. I'm happy for you. So um, most definitely supporting Cameron um in her journey of getting baptized and you know, understanding that it is a beautiful thing to see our youth engaged in um, you know, like learning about, you know, religion. I know a lot of people are for religion, some people aren't for religion. Whatever is your preference, that is your preference, and it's it's respected because some people don't believe. But whatever it is for you, whatever floats your boat, most definitely I respect it and I understand because everybody was brought up differently and everyone understands and comprehends differently. So, but yeah, happy for you, Cameron. Um next up, so I was thinking about this last night, um, and I wanted to get your input on how you feel about it. So when it comes to support, right? Like when it comes to support you get from your teachers, some like so some students will come to me and they'll tell me like they don't like, you know, they don't like class, they don't like their teachers and all kind of stuff. And then you have other students that come to me and they be like, you know, I love my teacher, I love what they do, they help me, they understand me, they talk to me. Do you feel like you're supported by teachers? And has it ever been a time where you didn't feel supported by teachers?
SPEAKER_01Uh yes.
SPEAKER_00All right. Talk about times where you didn't feel supported. Don't you don't have to say teacher name, of course, but just tell me like times where you didn't feel like your teacher supported you.
SPEAKER_01So do do do do do do do do do I don't remember.
SPEAKER_00But you okay, so how about times you feel like you have been supported?
SPEAKER_01Uh this one time when I was doing math and I was I was getting um my questions right. Uh she looked at the uh the exit ticket things to see uh to put them in, and I got all my exit tickets right.
SPEAKER_00How did you feel supported in that though?
SPEAKER_01Because she said, uh, wow girl, you uh you have uh uh your exit tickets right.
SPEAKER_00So like the positive affirmations behind like whatever you're doing, you feel like teachers support you, they have supported you in that?
SPEAKER_01Yes.
SPEAKER_00How about how about students? Do you feel like like your friends like support you and things? Because even as you get older, like we all have support systems, right? And support systems, support systems are people that like have your back. They're either gonna tell you when you're right, some people are gonna tell you when you're wrong, but they still care about you in the end. Um, do you feel like you have people around your age that support you in things or friends?
SPEAKER_01Uh a couple, yeah.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. Are you supportive? Are you a supportive friend?
SPEAKER_01Yes.
SPEAKER_00Because, hey, I don't know. Hey, so y'all, I've been had to get on camera later. The camera's been tripping a little bit. I don't know what's been going on with her. I don't know if because she's going to middle school, she's been feeling herself. I almost kicked her off.
SPEAKER_01My name is Crayon.
SPEAKER_00Crayon, black, yellow, gold, red, blue. I don't care what crayon you want to be.
SPEAKER_01Crayon, red, metro.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, yeah. Crayon almost got kicked off because crayon been tripping. So, me being your support system and telling you, sometimes you need to just take a step back. You don't gotta be over the top and be around everybody. Sometimes your friends not your friends. You know what I mean?
SPEAKER_01Yes.
SPEAKER_00Tell me what I mean. What does that mean? Sometimes your friend's not your friends.
SPEAKER_01Sometimes your friends gonna stab you and back.
SPEAKER_00Ooh, that was pretty deep. Yeah, sometimes I don't say stab you. Well, they will do that. But no, I'm what I'm saying is sometimes you gotta distance yourself from friends because friends may not make the right decisions. Do you feel like you make the right decisions when it comes to things?
unknownYes.
SPEAKER_01Well, I'm about to say something. Sometimes I I say I shouldn't say that, or I say I'm not gonna say that.
SPEAKER_00When's the last time you made a bad decision? Like, it don't have to be school, like at home, anywhere. When's the last time you make a bad decision?
SPEAKER_01Uh well it was my cousin's birthday and when my other cousins were there and my other cur cousin was there, they were doing too much.
SPEAKER_00So what bad decision did you make?
SPEAKER_01Uh the uh the first the one of the cousins. So he said something to me, and then I said something back. I said something. We both said something to me, but then at the end, we were all good.
SPEAKER_00So you just exchange enough like words that y'all shouldn't have been saying.
SPEAKER_01Yes.
SPEAKER_00Y'all kids be cursing too.
SPEAKER_01No, I don't curse.
SPEAKER_00You sure?
SPEAKER_01I don't curse.
SPEAKER_00Better not, because you getting that water, get baptized, you that water might turn a little hot.
SPEAKER_02I'm not. A little fiery. I don't curse.
SPEAKER_00All right, no need you doing that. I don't need you cursing now. But yeah, I mean it's human. We all make bad mistakes. But the reason why I asked you that that question about do you feel like your teachers support you is because at school we always want to make sure that, you know, you being supported and that you're comfortable. So that's important. But um, anything you want to talk about before we close out?
SPEAKER_01My chess tournament.
SPEAKER_00Oh, talk to me. Tell me about chess tournament.
SPEAKER_01So the last the last tournament I went to, me, Yatea, and Naila were on the same bus. So we had fun, and my mama let me bring my mama had let me bring my phone. So we we I had downloaded some stuff somewhere. We were on the bus together. We were watching this movie, The Curse of Hollow Bridge. And then at the chess game, even though I didn't win no games, I still have very much fun.
SPEAKER_00That's good. How long have you been playing chess? How has it been for you? Have you like slowly grown to where like where are you at? You still at the like or you at the you love it?
SPEAKER_01I love chess.
SPEAKER_00You love chess? Can you teach somebody how to play chess? You think you think you you know that much yet?
SPEAKER_02Or do you feel like you might have to teach me how to play?
SPEAKER_00I want to learn how to play now because it's become very popular here. So I don't got a clue what to do or what's going on. So I maybe need to be teaching me.
SPEAKER_01Mr. Tomlin, he knows how to play.
SPEAKER_00I'm asking you. How you gonna tell? So, how you gonna tell me that you're gonna teach me how to play and they're gonna tell me that you need to ask him. I'm asking you.
SPEAKER_01I'm not saying I didn't say you need to. I just say that Mr. Tomlin also knows how to play.
SPEAKER_00All right, well, I thought my co-host was gonna teach me how to play.
SPEAKER_01I mean, I will. I'm just saying that he also knows how to play.
SPEAKER_00Gotcha. I got you. I bet. You gotta get hostile. Um, so most definitely, shout out to you on that. When um when is y'all's next like chess match and stuff?
SPEAKER_01Next Saturday. I think.
SPEAKER_00Next Saturday. Not this Saturday.
SPEAKER_01No.
SPEAKER_00Next Saturday.
SPEAKER_01Yes, I think.
SPEAKER_00That's that Saturday. That's right after we get out of school. Okay. I might have to uh come and watch you play chess. So all right, well we're gonna be in classroom. Y'all gonna be in the classroom? What you mean?
SPEAKER_01Like So when we go to the tournament, we first we gotta sign in. We have breakfast, we go to a room to practice, and then we go to our then we go back to a place by where we had breakfast, and then uh a teacher take us to a classroom, and then we play chess in there, and then we go to lunch, you know, we take a picture, we go to lunch, and we get and they do shout outs to the people that won, and then we give them our cards.
SPEAKER_00So it's like a whole pro yeah, like a whole like day of stuff, huh?
SPEAKER_01Mm-hmm.
SPEAKER_00Okay. No, I gotta, I gotta see about that. Something just came to my mind. I know we was about to close, but I just thought about it. Um, because we always have our little no uh movie spills. What you watching right now? Anything in particular you watching or any movies coming up you trying to see?
SPEAKER_01Uh I've been watching. Oh. The Stitch Hair movie.
SPEAKER_00The Stitch Hand movie.
SPEAKER_01Remember I told you about it last time.
SPEAKER_00Did you watch? So you have watched it since then?
SPEAKER_01I want to watch it.
SPEAKER_00When is it coming out soon?
SPEAKER_01I don't know.
SPEAKER_00Man, listen. Hey, wicked, wiki coming out. I was finished when it's coming out. I need to go see.
SPEAKER_01And the SpongeBob movie.
SPEAKER_00I don't care about that. Don't care about that.
SPEAKER_01I'm not gonna tell you then.
SPEAKER_00Nah, I really don't care about it. So you don't gotta tell me. Yeah, I don't want to watch it no way.
SPEAKER_01I'm talking about wicked. I'm not gonna tell you that.
SPEAKER_00You're not gonna tell me when you see it. You don't gotta tell me because I'm gonna see it for myself. You don't gotta tell me when you're gonna see it. That's fine. Anyway, yeah, it's time for you to go to class.
SPEAKER_02No.
SPEAKER_00Yes. So um, once again, this is our last episode um before uh Thanksgiving break. So I hope everyone enjoys their Thanksgiving break. Eat whatever it is you eat, be safe. All the kids out there enjoy your Thanksgiving break. Don't get on your people's nerves, don't drive them crazy, or you can drive them crazy, it really doesn't matter because you will not be with me. Um Cameron, you got anything else you want to say?
SPEAKER_01My name is Crayon.
SPEAKER_00Too much. Uh, thank you for another episode of It's a Kids. Well, I think that's a good idea.
