SPEAKER_00

It was this girl who and me and my mama and my T went to boo at the zoo and it was and she dressed up like Elvis Presley. She all she also had the wig.

SPEAKER_01

Hey, we just informally started this. Welcome to It's a Kid's World Podcast. I know that wasn't the normal intro, but that was funny because this girl talking about Elvis Presley. Alright. Why do you want me to be Elvis Presley?

SPEAKER_00

Because I like Elvis Presley.

SPEAKER_01

Okay, so so once again, um, good afternoon to everyone. It's about 12.45 um on Wednesday, October 23rd. And um I'm here with one of um third graders here in the school. And the conversation before um the introduction was talking about Throwback Thursday, which is tomorrow, where you know kids get to dress up as their favorite era um or their parents help them out. And it came up about me dressing as Elvis. I don't know why you want me to dress up as this white man. Clearly, I am nowhere. No, I'm not doing that. Stop. Tell me, tell people where you got Elvis from.

SPEAKER_00

Fool House.

SPEAKER_01

Why are you watching Full House?

SPEAKER_00

Because I like the show.

SPEAKER_01

How did you okay? Let's talk about that for a minute. How did you find the show?

SPEAKER_00

First off, I will watch iCarly and on the TV. It will be Fool House.

SPEAKER_01

It'll just come on after that.

SPEAKER_00

No, uh I will watch uh iCarly and iCarly, they will be watching TV and they will be watching Fool House.

SPEAKER_01

Oh, okay. So they was watching Full House on that show, and that just made you decide to watch it?

SPEAKER_00

Yes, and I also wanted to see it.

SPEAKER_01

So who is your favorite Foolhouse uh person?

SPEAKER_00

I got three.

SPEAKER_01

Who?

SPEAKER_00

So Michelle and Nikki and Alex.

SPEAKER_01

Michelle, Nikki, and Alex. What?

SPEAKER_00

The the twins.

SPEAKER_01

Baby Nikki? Well, it's a baby, right? Who was a baby? Who's the I don't know. The twins were who?

SPEAKER_00

It was Jesse and Becky Kids.

SPEAKER_01

It was Jesse and Becky. Okay. And tell me something. I forgot. That used to be my show when I was a kid.

SPEAKER_00

And now it's my show.

SPEAKER_01

Any other shows you like? Like older shows?

SPEAKER_00

Uh Ladybug, Cat in Noir, Casey Undercover.

SPEAKER_01

Oh, okay. I know Casey Undercover.

SPEAKER_00

Teen Titans.

SPEAKER_01

Teen Titans is another one that's a throwback. Okay. You know a little something. So you had the pleasure of doing something this past summer. What did you do?

SPEAKER_00

I went to a high school scholarship.

SPEAKER_01

You went? You went to a high school in where? Where was it?

SPEAKER_00

Atlanta.

SPEAKER_01

It was in Atlanta, okay. And it was a road trip, right? It was a road trip. Did you enjoy it? Did you enjoy like the sightseeing on the way?

SPEAKER_00

Yes. Okay.

SPEAKER_01

So what did you do? I know you said that it was a scholarship that you got a chance to win. And I feel like it was a lot of people wanted to go, but you were one of the people that were chosen. Why do you think you were chosen? What about what about you makes you um a pretty dope person?

SPEAKER_00

Unique.

SPEAKER_01

What makes you unique? Tell me what makes you unique.

SPEAKER_00

I'm different than everybody.

SPEAKER_01

Tell me why. You gotta convince me.

SPEAKER_00

Cause I like rats and ants.

SPEAKER_01

You like like bugs and different stuff like that? You say rats?

SPEAKER_00

Yes.

SPEAKER_01

You like rats?

SPEAKER_00

Yes!

SPEAKER_01

Hey, hey, this is your world. Why you like rats?

SPEAKER_00

Cause they cute.

SPEAKER_01

No, they not.

SPEAKER_00

They got big ears and big and big eyes and tiny eyes.

unknown

Oh, okay.

SPEAKER_01

I guess. So, okay, you were you were able to go to Atlanta and uh you were chosen to go to a high school and you say you had fun.

SPEAKER_00

Yes.

SPEAKER_01

Would it be something that you would do again?

SPEAKER_00

Yes.

SPEAKER_01

Alright, why would you do it again?

SPEAKER_00

Because I really liked all the things we got to do.

SPEAKER_01

Okay, what was your favorite? Tell me one thing that you can remember. I know you said your mind not good. You got an old lady mind. So tell me, what is one thing that um you had fun doing?

SPEAKER_00

I remember it was this project we had to do with a group, and we had to like show something to the like people that came for the scholarship. And we had to like make a video for it, and we tr chose homeless people.

SPEAKER_01

Okay, that was pretty nice. Then like so after you did that, how do like, is it a certain way you feel about homeless people after you did that project?

SPEAKER_00

I always felt sad about homeless people.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

And homeless animals.

SPEAKER_01

And homeless animals.

SPEAKER_00

Yes.

SPEAKER_01

Okay. Well that's good that you have a good heart and you um you guys chose to do something that um was beneficial. That's that's real good. So any of those things that you plan on doing now that you're, you know, got that experience, is anything you like to do with homeless people when you get older?

SPEAKER_00

Yes. I always thought about if I get rich, I'm gonna take half and give it to a homeless software, and then the other half give it to animal shelter.

SPEAKER_01

So how much so what you gonna have for yourself?

SPEAKER_00

Nothing.

SPEAKER_01

You gonna you're gonna have no money?

SPEAKER_00

I'm gonna live with my mom.

SPEAKER_01

No, you're not. Yes, I am. That's not how it works.

SPEAKER_00

Yes, it is.

SPEAKER_01

How old do you think you're going to be before she decides to put you out? You're not gonna live with her forever.

SPEAKER_00

13.

SPEAKER_01

13? You think she's gonna put you out at 13?

SPEAKER_00

Yes.

SPEAKER_01

Well, I mean, whatever. If that's what you think, nah, we won't need that happening to you. But you have a good heart, though. I appreciate that that you want to do for others. Have you always been like that?

SPEAKER_00

Yes.

SPEAKER_01

That's that's good. All right. So, um, well, another thing since we're talking about like, you know, our parents and um things like that. Your mother, uh, can you say something about her? Was she a former student here?

SPEAKER_00

Yes.

SPEAKER_01

How does it feel to go to the same school that your mother went to?

SPEAKER_00

Surprising.

SPEAKER_01

It feels surprising. Yes. What's surprising about it?

SPEAKER_00

Because I feel like how it was when she was here isn't the same thing it is while I'm here.

SPEAKER_01

Oh, is there a lot that changed? Y'all got it made. Y'all got it made. When I was in school versus when y'all was in school is way different. What do you like about school now? Like, what what about school that makes you like, you know what? I really enjoy going to school. Not even if it's here, like any school. Like, what makes school fun to you?

SPEAKER_00

My two friends, besties.

SPEAKER_01

That's the only thing about school that makes it fun.

SPEAKER_00

And math.

SPEAKER_01

And math. Are you good at math? Yes. Five times five.

SPEAKER_00

Twenty-five.

SPEAKER_01

Okay. Okay. I just I just want to make sure you was quick on your toes. Two plus two.

SPEAKER_00

Two plus two?

SPEAKER_01

Three plus three.

SPEAKER_00

Six.

SPEAKER_01

Six plus six.

SPEAKER_00

I don't know that one.

SPEAKER_01

See, yeah, yeah, you gotta be quicker than that. But that's good though. Um, I like that. Alright, so is it anything that you want to tell the people before we leave? Oh, no, no, I got something. Are you a Marvel fan? You like Marvel?

SPEAKER_00

Yes.

SPEAKER_01

Who's your favorite?

SPEAKER_00

I have a favorite superhero and a favorite bad guy.

SPEAKER_01

Okay, let's see if we got the same. Alright. I got my two. I got my superhero in my head and I got my villain in my head. You go first.

SPEAKER_00

They're brothers, Loki and Thor.

SPEAKER_01

Oh, God. Oh, God. I was gonna say, superhero. Superhero, I'm taking Iron Man. Tony Starks all day. Villain?

SPEAKER_00

Loki.

SPEAKER_01

No. Thanos. I'm gonna go Thanos.

SPEAKER_00

Who that?

SPEAKER_01

You wanna know who Thanos is? Well, you're not no real Marvel fan.

SPEAKER_00

Yes, I am.

SPEAKER_01

How you didn't see the big purple guy with the gloves, with the rings? You don't you ain't no fan.

SPEAKER_00

Yes, I am. I went to a 3D movie.

SPEAKER_01

You went to one movie.

SPEAKER_00

No, I went to a 3D movie.

SPEAKER_01

Okay. If you say so. Well, once again, this um this is Spirit Week at our school. Um, we just had some time to talk real quick because it's been fun activities going on. Friday, we are having uh lip sync sync. Lip sync battle. And um, what song is your class going to sing?

SPEAKER_00

We are doing Count On Me by Bruno Bars.

SPEAKER_01

Count on Me by Bruno. Okay. Good selection. Alright. So thanks everybody for listening. Um, thanks for the support as well. Once again, this is episode three, but um I truly appreciate the support we've been getting from people um like all over the world. Um surprising, I never thought that this early or this soon that we would get that, but it's it's been pretty good. Um, once again, this allows our kids to have a voice and just keep liking it, keep sharing it around to everyone because we want to make this bigger and better as we continue. And until next time for It's a Kids World Podcast. Thank you.
