In this episode of "It's a Kid's World Podcast,"  we discuss school updates, test scores, recent competitions, and Disney!!

SPEAKER_00

Welcome to another episode of InstaKids. Well, it is April 14th, 2026. We are about five or six, I think it's six weeks away from school being out, or something like that. I think we're like six, six and a half. I don't know. It's getting close. I know that much. So that's a good time. Um we did record last week because my voice for some reason decided to go out. Um so we missed that week, but we back at it. Everything is good. Um, how you feeling today?

SPEAKER_01

I'm feeling good because I'm having a good day and a good morning because we finally got our snacks from Mr. Tomlin once again, because he lied for us, lied to us for like five days, and we didn't get our snacks because we've been supposed to have got our snacks.

SPEAKER_00

What y'all getting snacks for?

SPEAKER_01

Because we won against the boys. Um, we make this competition.

SPEAKER_00

Which uh what what kind of competition was like some music? It was a music competition or something?

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, we was um doing a notes. Like who can um tell him the notes first and Perry cheated. They had two, and he told somebody to do it again. Cause he we said that he cheated and Mr. Tomlin said that he didn't. So then that's when we um we told Mr. Tomlin that he cheated and he didn't catch him, so then he tried to do it again, and Mr. Tomlin took both of them points. So now we won, and then um we went against the girls who can get a honey bun, but he didn't find no honey bun.

SPEAKER_00

How you how you went against the girls and you all girls?

SPEAKER_01

Because he split, we um all the girls won against the boys, so then he split us into two teams, the girls, and then I was on a team with Jordan, Haley, Ariel, and Jada, and then it was the naive little team with Jemia, I think Kalia, and London, and I don't know the other one. Probably Chanel, I guess. I don't know. And so we won, my team won, and we was gonna get honey buns and chips, but he didn't find a honey bun. So we just got two bags of chips. The other teams.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, y'all be y'all be greedy though. Y'all be greedy because let me tell you, so we had NWEA testing last week, you know. Everybody from, you know, the pod did a great job. All of the members, you know, they scored high on their um NWEA testing. They exceeded their goal. Cool. So I asked these people, you know, what they wanted to eat. Took forever, but this child in front of me just too much, man. You can't please her. What did you end up getting? Out of everything you wanted to pick, you picked McDonald's.

SPEAKER_01

Yep. And I got a big neck, a large picture.

SPEAKER_00

She got a big neck, and a high C. And she got a high C. But then she still won't satisfy because she wanted some crumble cookies that she still ain't got, though. You probably ain't getting them the graduation. I ain't even gonna lie to you. Because y'all, you, so just think about this, everybody. There's two people, McDonald's, so they got they, you know what I'm saying. And then two people wanted Chick-fil-A. No, no, wait, wait. Did they get you? No, they didn't get it.

SPEAKER_01

No, we all we all wanted Chick-fil-A.

SPEAKER_00

No, they end up getting wings, so so two, so two people got wing stop, and two people got McDonald's. I said, man, y'all We were supposed to agree on everything.

SPEAKER_01

So we end up.

SPEAKER_00

They were supposed to agree on something. They couldn't come to an agreement, but you know.

SPEAKER_01

We agreed on Chick-fil-A.

SPEAKER_00

But Chick-fil-A don't deliver to the school. Why? I don't know, but they don't, so we end up having to, you know, uh come into an agreement and get something else. But hey, regardless, they got their food, everything was good, and they made it through. So now the next thing is map testing. Are you ready for map testing?

SPEAKER_01

No, but yes.

SPEAKER_00

What you mean, no but what you mean no but yes?

SPEAKER_01

Because I don't think that. Since I didn't reach my war my scope. My goal. I didn't reach it. I was supposed to get a 217, but I got a 215.

SPEAKER_00

On what?

SPEAKER_01

Math.

SPEAKER_00

On math. Okay.

SPEAKER_01

And I got a 202 in reading.

SPEAKER_00

But you exceeded your reading goal though.

SPEAKER_01

Oh, I did.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

I didn't know that.

SPEAKER_00

I told you that. Why do you think I bought you some McDonald's?

SPEAKER_01

Cause I was close to my goal. I don't know. I thought I um I was like, No, you passed her. I passed my goal.

SPEAKER_00

She don't be paying attention, no. She don't be paying attention to nothing, man. But anyway, so she seated her goals, whatever. But so everything is everything. But yeah, in a couple weeks, they're gonna be taking the math testing. And then after that, it will be time for graduation. Are you excited? Are you nervous? How are you feeling about entering middle school? You don't got that long.

SPEAKER_01

Cause I feel good, because I'm gonna be messing with my sister. She said that she don't want me in her building. Every time I go down there to the high school, she gets mad at me because I be doing too much.

SPEAKER_00

What grade is she in again?

SPEAKER_01

Fit.

SPEAKER_00

Okay. Oh yeah, y'all gonna be, y'all gonna see each other. Don't go down there, be nagging though.

SPEAKER_01

Okay. I'm not I'm not gonna be okay. I'm not gonna be like the a bad student, but like I'm gonna be the best for a lot of people.

SPEAKER_00

I don't believe you're gonna be bad. Um just, you know, when you be the older sibling and your younger sibling come around, it be kind of annoying, it'd be uh embarrassing.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, Macau.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, don't be embarrassed. Yeah, so don't be like your little brother to you. Don't be like that. But no, you'll be fine. Um, Snickerball, you going? Snickerball on May 1st.

SPEAKER_01

I've been asking my mama to go to the snickerball.

SPEAKER_00

And what's she saying?

SPEAKER_01

She hasn't been answering me.

SPEAKER_00

That ain't good.

SPEAKER_01

She said that she she didn't want me to ask that. I wanna go. I don't know why she don't want me gone.

SPEAKER_00

You say you don't want to go?

SPEAKER_01

I do want to go. I wanna go.

SPEAKER_00

If you sh you should. I don't know. You gotta talk to it for yourself. I would say I'll try to talk to it, but I think you might need to have that conversation with your mama.

SPEAKER_01

If she listening to this, please let me go.

SPEAKER_00

If you listen to this, please. It'll be out before this'll be out probably by the end of the week. So yeah, she'll hear it. But you know, sniggerball is a good time. That's kind of like our annual prom type of thing, you know. Every year it's been a good year, great turnout, good food. You know you like that food.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

You know you like that food.

SPEAKER_01

I was talking to chicken be too much seasoning on it.

SPEAKER_00

What you talking about?

SPEAKER_01

It be too much seasoning on a chicken.

SPEAKER_00

What chicken? Where?

SPEAKER_01

They be making their chicken.

SPEAKER_00

I don't even know what you're talking about.

SPEAKER_01

One side be a little pink and then.

SPEAKER_00

What are you talking about? Girl, we don't we have different food at the dance. You ain't this your first year here. You talk, you talking about the school, cafeteria food. Yeah. Well, you need to be uh specific then. I don't need you talking about the sneaker ball. We ain't even talking about this. You talking about cafeteria food. We talking about food at the functions. Anyway.

SPEAKER_01

Well, it's gonna be good.

SPEAKER_00

No, for sure. Yeah. I already talked about the menu for the food, so you not you know you like food. So if you want to get you some food, then you'll come.

SPEAKER_01

She loves me some food.

SPEAKER_00

She loves her some food.

SPEAKER_01

So um The best thing about being a kid is that you never pay for nothing. You don't pay for your clothes, no bills, no food, no nothing. But I pay me, I pay for my food sometimes and my snacks. So these kids be a little too spoiled. I'm spoiled a little bit.

SPEAKER_00

Says the person who got McDonald's and still with the crumble cookies. And then we just so also, you know, I love I love my coffee. I love my coffee. So we go in Dollar Tree, and I need some coffee cream because we ain't we ain't had none. We ran out. She picks up this bag. First of all, Dollar Tree done got outrageous with their prices. A little bag of Eminem minis was $5, and she picked it up. No, we can't. No, I had to put that down. Then she picked up a little box of these little MMs. You picked up two of them. Yeah, you gotta put one in them bag. I was like, man. Yeah, so a little spoil. I think you more than a little spoil. But anyway, we gotta watch how we do that. You gotta watch that spinning of money, especially when it comes to kids. But like you right though, y'all don't pay for nothing. That's why I don't understand why kids being so uh big of a herd to be an adult. And embrace being a kid because you don't gotta do nothing but just live, breathe, go to school, eat, sleep. That's all you gotta do.

SPEAKER_01

I love school. It's because I'm away from my annoying siblings, and I actually get to learn something. But I barely even get to learn nothing because these kids are so bad. So these teachers gotta stop the listen, to um settle the um classroom. Then um, once they settle, they turn their back for like five seconds and the students already being bad.

SPEAKER_00

You sound like Malaya. Malaya was in here talking about the same stuff. Not Malaya, Jesus Christ. My name's running together. Malia? Malia was talking about the same thing you talking about. You gonna have people in class that's gonna do things to disrupt the class, but you still gotta, you know, stay focused and do your part though. But I mean I get what you're saying. It is annoying, but I mean, it's gonna come, no classroom is gonna be perfect. Well, not all classes gonna be perfect. Some are gonna be better than others, but that's just what it is. It ain't horrible in your room, though.

SPEAKER_01

Mm-mm. Because Miss Smith don't play. Or Miss Mancate.

SPEAKER_00

No, it ain't horrible.

SPEAKER_01

So they run over Miss Elias, though.

SPEAKER_00

Okay, well, we're not gonna talk about that right now. But yeah, you know what I'm saying? Everybody got their own different perception of what their classroom should look like. But as long as you're doing what you're supposed to do, everything will be good. So um I am excited because hopefully next week we're gonna record our first like video. We're gonna record our first.

SPEAKER_01

With a camera.

SPEAKER_00

With the camera. With the camera. You know the camera has been coming in handy though.

SPEAKER_01

Not just with our voices.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, so next week we're gonna go ahead and get that going. Uh, another fun thing we got coming up, Spirit Week. Spirit Week coming up. Have you looked at the paper for Spirit Week?

SPEAKER_01

No.

unknown

Shh.

SPEAKER_01

We got a paper.

SPEAKER_00

I've been past that paper out. But um, I think one day it's like twin day, then we have a pajama day.

SPEAKER_01

I looked at that.

SPEAKER_00

One day is Pirate Day. I put it on there. I just want to do something crazy.

SPEAKER_01

So pajama day.

SPEAKER_00

Pajama Day, like on the Friday, but like that pirate day, I'm ready for that. Alright, I've been looking for outfits and everything. I'm coming full-on gear. I don't know. I'm gonna be in character and everything.

SPEAKER_01

So I'm gonna be in uniform.

SPEAKER_00

Or I should wait to do a video during Spirit Week. That'll be fun.

SPEAKER_01

So when we get our camera, we can show them my outfits.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, that'll be funny.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

So we might do that. Alright, so we talked about it a little earlier, so we're gonna go ahead and kick into it. Top Disney movies. So you say you got five. Yeah. I got I got a couple of them too. So are we doing five or you doing five? And I'm doing five. Because I don't even. Or do you want to do five? So that means you pick like two or three, then I pick one or two. I got two in my head right now. And it's probably the my top two Disney movies and my only Disney movies that I love. So which one do you want to do five? Let's just do five.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, let's just do five.

SPEAKER_00

Alright, you go first. What's your what's your what's your uh one? No particular order.

SPEAKER_01

So inside out.

SPEAKER_00

Alright, stop right there. Why inside out? Why is that?

SPEAKER_01

Because it can just show you how like it makes me think that the um characters are actually in my head. But I think that it'll just show you how you should react or something like that. Because rightly she actually have a lot of emotions. She gets new emotions every other time. And and I think some people got some of them emotions and they did they need to learn how to control their um emotions. So I think that is good for us to watch.

SPEAKER_00

Okay. Okay. I've never watched, because it's it's two of them. Yeah, it's two of them.

SPEAKER_01

Inside that one, inside that one.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, I have I've never seen them. I always heard people talk about, especially a second one. I think that one was real popular, and that's when I knew it was a thing, but I've never watched them, so maybe one day I finally take the time. Um, I say for me, I'ma go, I'm gonna go Lion King. Lion King is probably my favorite Disney movie because like it was good acting, it was some, you know, good little songs, good story.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. Uh they song still viral.

SPEAKER_00

What?

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

Who who violent?

SPEAKER_01

No, viral.

SPEAKER_00

Oh, viral. I thought you said somebody was violent. I'm like, what the?

SPEAKER_01

No.

SPEAKER_00

They did kill Mufasa though, man. Man. But yeah, great movie. So that I I had that when I was a kid, I had like the video tapes, and you don't know nothing about that. It was videotapes. And I had I had that. I used to watch that movie over and over again. So yeah, I'll say that. Alright. What's your next one?

SPEAKER_01

Um, my next one is Gravity Fall.

SPEAKER_00

What is it?

SPEAKER_01

Gravity Falls.

SPEAKER_00

What's that about?

SPEAKER_01

Like it's about these two um kids. These two people, they they live with their uncle. They um they uh mama sent them to their uncle. They go to a mystery sh they live in a mystery shack. It's it's kind of like every holiday. But I watched the one about Halloween. It was um they have to g give this monster a hundred pieces of candy, and if they don't, they die. But they made the brother, um, they made it they got uh a hundred um pieces of candy, but then the brother was trying to be cool with the um like a girl, he had a crush on a girl that worked with her, and her name was Wendy. His name was Dipper, and the other one girls wasn't Mabel. And so Mabel and Dipper um used to love Halloween, but um Dipper he acted like that Halloween wasn't for him no more, so he wanted to hang out with Wendy and her friends, and so then he was in the costume, and so then after that he um he saw Wendy. Wendy let him come to a dance party for Halloween, and he wanted to go, but he wanted to go with Mabel. He didn't want to go to with Mabel with to go trick-or-treating, and then uh Alright now, you got long-winded.

SPEAKER_00

I told you why. You just supposed to say more like that movie. You're gonna be giving the summary of the movie.

SPEAKER_01

Then he threw the candy. He threw the candy in the water.

SPEAKER_00

Okay, he threw the candy in the water. Alright, God. Alright, I'ma go. Wait, that was number three, number four. I'ma go um Beauty and the Beast. You remember Beauty and the Beast? You ever seen Beauty and the Beast? I like Beauty and the Beast dope movie. It was, you know, about the girl. She ended up at this castle, you know what I'm saying, and all other stuff come to life. She meets the beast. He's crazy, grumpy, rude in the mug. And then, you know, things end up changing over time and fall in love, yada, yada, yada. But Beauty and the Beast will be mine. How about you? What's your what's your next one? Tell me to move it and why you like it. Don't tell me about it.

SPEAKER_01

Okay, so my other one is um what it's called, stuck in the middle. And it's about a girl being the middle child, and they her family, I think her family barely noticed her. Notices her. Like, and everybody, um, everybody else, it's just like a family, family movie about um a family having a rough time. It's like nine people in a family, so it's hard.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. Alright. I think that was five, but if not, I'm I'm gonna I'm gonna go one more. I'm gonna go ahead and do six. I'm gonna say the last one I say that I really like growing up was Peter Pan. Peter Pan was just so cool to me. Fly in.

SPEAKER_01

I have no idea what a Peter Pan is.

SPEAKER_00

You don't know what Peter Pan is? No. Man, we gotta cut this short, bro. Ask your mama with Peter Pan.

SPEAKER_01

You know, she probably paying.

SPEAKER_00

You ever seen Captain Hook? You never seen Captain Hook?

SPEAKER_01

No.

SPEAKER_00

I'm showing my age for real. Hey.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, because y'all old.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, we older, yeah. But no, them some good, them some good movies, though. I don't know none of the movies you said, but inside out, that's the only movie I know what you said. The rest of them, oh good. That's Disney done been around for so long, though. Like, Disney been around since before I was a kid. Like, it's just they they got so many movies, it's too many to even name.

SPEAKER_01

It's like they made a hundred movies.

SPEAKER_00

More than a hundred. They they easily made more than a hundred. Because I'm looking at some right now. They they made a lot of movies. But anyway, um, that was just a little something. So, um, so yeah, so we're back. We back at it. Um, took a week out, but um, everything is everything now. We are getting prepared for the last little hoorah before it's time to get out. And we're gonna be into the summer. Summer school, it's gonna be nice. I like summer school. Summer school is a time, ain't a lot of kids, chill. But you won't be here though.

SPEAKER_01

Huh?

SPEAKER_00

You won't be here.

SPEAKER_01

I won't.

SPEAKER_00

For summer school.

SPEAKER_01

I will.

SPEAKER_00

You won't.

SPEAKER_01

Oh.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. But it's all good. You got anything else you want to say before we close this out and you get to class?

SPEAKER_01

Um, I hope y'all have a rest of y'all. I hope y'all have a good rest of y'all um day. Yeah. And eat a lot of food because it's good.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, eat good food. Don't just be out here just eating just because don't listen to her. But yeah. So have a great day, have a great week, and um, you know, stay out the way. Don't let nobody throw no rain on your parade. Enjoy life. We're too blessed to be stressed, you know what I'm saying? Too blessed to be stressed. All right. That's been another episode of It's a Kids World Podcast.
