What's up, everybody, and welcome back once again to the Freak Apotamus Podcast. How's everybody doing today? On this humping Wednesday, as I always say. Anyway, uh, this is my first show of 2026. Glad to be back. Happy New Year. Don't know how long we can keep saying that, but happy new year nonetheless. Like I said, I'm glad to be back and ready to roll. I gotta turn my engines up this year. Do more shows, do more special shows, have more guests on. Uh well-known guests, not so well-known guests. But anyway, I am back. And tonight, got a special one for you. For those of you in the purple circle who are Vanity fans, Vanity Six fans, Apollonia fans. Got a special treat for you tonight. Tonight, we are having a listening party for this right here. Uh Sex Shooter. Prince in Vanity's version. I heard it for the first time last week. And uh maybe I should do a show about it for those of you who have not heard it. We're gonna take a deep dive into it tonight. Uh the story behind this particular version. Uh Prince uh wrote this for uh a second Vanity 6 album that was slated to be on uh their second album. And this is before uh Vanity actually made her uh departure from the group, which later became uh Apollonia 6. Apollonia 6 released this in '84 was featured in the movie Program. And uh that's basically all there is to it. Uh for those of you who have not heard this version. Sit back and enjoy. This is Prince And Vanity on the vocals. Anyway, let's just uh get into it. Like I said in the beginning, I heard it for the first time last week. Didn't know it existed. But we learned something new every day.
