What whatever you're watching us on? We have several different um formats that we um are on now. But I wanna play something before we get started. Tonight we're gonna be dealing with something that I've heard all through my life, different um different meanings, different um ways, and just the way that a lot of it has to do with tradition. But tonight we're gonna be talking about the Holy Spirit, and tonight let me start out saying this: the Holy Spirit is not just a feeling, force, or experience. The Holy Spirit is the third person of the Godhead, fully God, fully divine, active from generations to revelations. The Holy Spirit creates, it empowers, it convicts, convicts, it comforts, it teaches, it leads, it transforms, it anoints, it sins, and it speaks. And there is a lot of Christian people who do not like when the Holy Spirit speaks because the Holy Spirit speaks sometimes with conviction. But without the Holy Spirit, this is what can happen or will happen. It will happen. Ministry becomes powerless, worship becomes empty, prayer becomes mechanical, and preaching becomes intellectual. Christianity becomes religious tradition. Jesus never intended the believer to live without the Holy Spirit.

SPEAKER_02

John the 14th chapter, verses 16 and 17. The amplified Bible reads, and I will ask the Father, and he will give you another helper, comforter, advocate, intercessor, counselor, strengthener, standby, to be with you forever. 17, the Spirit of Truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it does not see him or know him, but you know him, because he, the Holy Spirit, remains with you continually and will be in you.

SPEAKER_01

The King James says, and I will pray the Father, and he will give you another comforter, that he may abide with you forever, even the spirit of truth. This is what a lot of people, especially in the traditional churches, will not tell you. They would not tell you that he abides with you forever. And what does it mean, even the spirit of truth? What does that mean? That means from the time that you commit yourself to Christ, you repent of your sins, ask for forgiveness, and ask him to be your Lord and Savior, then that opens the door for the Holy Spirit to come in and dwell in you. Because what goes on from that point on is something that you will not be able to do by yourself. You will need some help of walking the way God wants you to walk. In the tradition church, they will teach you that you're not really saved until you are in, till you have received the gift of the Holy Spirit. That's two different things. There's a difference between receiving the Holy Spirit and the indwelling or the infilling of the Holy Spirit. Two different things. Let's look at um Acts chapter one, verse eight.

SPEAKER_02

Acts one and eight. But you will receive power and ability when the Holy Spirit comes upon you, and you will be my witness, both in Jerusalem and all Judea, and Samaria, and even to the ends of the earth.

SPEAKER_01

After that, the Holy Ghost come upon you. This is talking about the infilling of the Holy Spirit because this of this scripture right here was given as a commandment to the disciples when Jesus was leaving the earth to go back to Jerusalem and to stay there until they are endued with power from on high. Look at Romans eight, chapter eight, verses number fourteen.

SPEAKER_02

Romans eight and fourteen. For all who are allowing themselves to be led by the Spirit of God are sons of God. Okay, fourteen. For all who are allowing themselves to be led by the Spirit of God, okay, so who is allowing themselves?

SPEAKER_01

We have to allow ourselves to be led by the Spirit of God. If we don't allow it, then the Spirit will not be, you will not be led by the Spirit. But if you are led by the Spirit, you are the sons, you are the daughters of God. Now, now look at this, look at this. If you are led by the Spirit, when you are a son or daughter of God, you are in the family. That is relationship. That's relationship. Who is the Holy Spirit? The Holy Spirit is a person, not an it. He has intelligence, he has emotions, he has will, and he has speech. First Corinthians chapter number two, verses ten and eleven.

SPEAKER_02

First Corinthians two and ten. For God has unveiled them and revealed them to us through the Spirit. For the Spirit searches all things, even the death of God, the divine counsel and things far beyond human understanding. Eleven. For what person knows the thoughts and motive of a man, except the man's spirit within him? So also no one knows the thoughts of God, except the spirit of God.

SPEAKER_01

Now look, the first few words, for the spirit searches all things. How can the spirit search all things if you don't have the spirit? How can it search all things if you have to wait on the infilling of the Holy Spirit? The Spirit once you allow the Spirit to come in, the Spirit starts searching all things because the Spirit is going to convict you. On things that, first of all, you need to let go of habits that need to be broken, hurt that needs healing, and all these things. Ephesians four and thirty.

SPEAKER_02

Ephesians four and thirty. And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God. Seek to please him by whom you were sealed and marked. Blame, branded as God's own for the day of redemption, the final deliverance from the consequences of sin.

SPEAKER_01

This is the emotions of God. Don't grieve the Holy Spirit. When it's trying to do something, let the Spirit do what it's intended to do. The Holy Spirit also has a will. Look at Acts 13 and 2.

SPEAKER_02

While they were serving the Lord and fasting, the Holy Spirit said, Set apart for me Barnabas and Saul for the work to which I have called them.

SPEAKER_01

When Paul was getting his all his uh the ones that was under him when trying to get everything in order, the spirit spoke to Paul and told Paul. It took the spirit told Paul to separate Barnabas and Saul because he was going to send them in opposite direction. They've been together for so long, they know everything, they they've worked together, but now it's time for a separation. Sometimes God will separate us to show us what his will is. Let me give you some symbols of the Holy Spirit. The first one is a dove. You can find that in Matthew, the third chapter, the sixteenth verse. The symbol of fire. That can be in Acts chapter two, verse three. The wind. Acts chapter two, verse two, the oil, Psalms twenty-three and five. The water. John chapter seven, verses thirty-seven through thirty-nine. Each symbol reveals his nature. Fire purifies. Wind moves. Water refreshes, and oil consecrates. The Holy Spirit is also. In the Old Testament, the Holy Spirit did not begin in Acts chapter 2. He was active in creation. I'm going to show you. Genesis 1 and 2. Okay. Genesis chapter 1, verse 2.

SPEAKER_02

Genesis 1 and 2. The earth was a fullness and void, or a way, or a waste and emptiness, and darkness was upon the face of the deep ocean that covered the unformed earth. The spirit of God was moving, hovering, bordering over the face of the water.

SPEAKER_01

And the spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters. The Hebrew word for moved means hoovered. It means brood. It means vibrated with life. The spirit brings order out of chaos. In the Old Testament, the Spirit came upon people. It did not come into people, but it came upon people. In the Old Testament, the Spirit came upon people temporarily. In other words, then in the Old Testament, the Holy Spirit was only there long enough to do what it had to do, and then it was gone. It left. When he came upon Samson, it gave him strength. When he came upon David, it gave him kingship. When he came upon the prophets, it gave him revelation. When he came upon the craftsmen, it gave him wisdom. Look at Judges chapter 14, verse 6.

SPEAKER_02

Judges 14 and 6. The sphere of the Lord came upon him mightily, and he tore the lion apart as one tears apart a young goat, and he had nothing at all in his hand, but he did not tell his father or mother what he had done.

SPEAKER_01

Who did the spirit of the Lord come upon him? Who? Who fought the lion? Who fought the bear? Who fought the lions? David. David understood the value of the spirit. Look at Psalm fifty fifty-one and eleven.

SPEAKER_02

Psalms fifty-one and eleven. Do not cast me away from your presence and do not take your Holy Spirit from me.

SPEAKER_01

David knew David knew that God would take the Holy Spirit away from him. But he prayed and he asked. David knew success without the spirit is failure. He knew what he needed. The Holy Spirit in the life of Jesus. Jesus operated in the power of the Spirit. He was conceived by the Spirit. Luke one and thirty-five.

SPEAKER_02

Listen carefully. You will conceive in your womb and give birth to a son, and you shall name him Jesus.

SPEAKER_01

The Holy Spirit shall come upon thee. Amen. Amen. He was baptized and empowered. He saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove, Matthew 3, 16. This is when he when he was led out and um when he was when John the Baptist was taking him out to baptize him, and when John the Baptist baptized him, this is what happened. Matthew 3 and 16.

SPEAKER_02

After Jesus was baptized, after he was baptized, he came up immediately out of the water. And he, John, saw the Spirit of God descending as a dove and lightning on him, Jesus.

SPEAKER_01

And he saw, John looked up, and he saw the Spirit of God coming down like a dove and descending upon him. After he was baptized, look what happened. He was laid by the Spirit. Now look at Luke chapter 4, verses 1.

SPEAKER_02

Now Jesus, full of communic uh of the Holy Spirit, returned from the Jordan and was led by the Spirit in the wilderness.

SPEAKER_01

He was led by the Spirit, never left Jesus.

SPEAKER_02

Thank you, Lord.

SPEAKER_01

Never left him. From the time that it was spoken to Mary, to the birth, to the upbringing. And now to the baptism of Jesus. Why would somebody get filled, get the spirit, and then leave this that is lifeless. The wilderness experience is lifeless. But lifeless. Look at Luke chapter four and verse eighteen.

SPEAKER_02

He has sent me to announce release to the captive and recovery of sight to the blind, to set free those who are oppressed, downtrodden, bruised, crushed by tragedy, Jesus declared, the Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me.

SPEAKER_01

Jesus ministered through the anointing of the Holy Spirit. If Jesus needed the Spirit, how much more do we? But there's a promise to it. Jesus promised the Spirit before his ascension. What did John 14, 26 say?

SPEAKER_02

But the helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father would send in my name, he will teach you all things, and he will help you remember everything that I have teach you.

SPEAKER_01

He will teach you all things. Not just some things, but all things. What does comforter mean? The Greek word for comforter is parkollectos, parakolectos, which means helper, which means advocate, which means intercessor, which means strengthener, which means standby. The Holy Spirit comes alongside believers. Look at John 16 and 13.

SPEAKER_02

But when he, the Spirit of Truth, comes, he will guide you into all the truth. For he will not speak of his own intensity, tensitive, but he will speak whatever his heart's whatever he hears, and he will disclose to you what is to come.

SPEAKER_01

How be when he, the spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth. When the spirit comes, the spirit will lead you into all truth. It will show you all truth. It's not going to show you nothing that is contrary to what the word is. That is truth. That is truth. The Holy Spirit guides believers into truth, into purpose, into discernment, and into revelation. We just left the filling of the Holy Spirit. Let's go into the infilling, the indwelling of the Holy Spirit. What does Acts chapter 1, verse 4 and 5 say?

SPEAKER_02

Acts chapter 1, 4 and 5. While being together and eating with them, he commanded them not to leave Jerusalem, but to wait for what the Father had promised, of which he said, You have heard me speak. 5. For John baptized with water, but you will be baptized and empowered and united with the Holy Spirit, not long from now.

SPEAKER_01

Ye shall be baptized with the Holy Spirit. Not many days hence. Baptism of the Holy Spirit and baptism in water. When you are baptized with the Holy Spirit, that means that the indwelling you are going into Acts chapter 2, verse 28. No, don't go there. Don't go there. Ye shall be baptized with the Holy Spirit. Acts chapter 2, verses 1 through 4. Look at this.

SPEAKER_02

When the day of Pentecost has come, they were all together in one place. And suddenly a sound came from heaven like a rush, rushing, violent wind, and it filled the whole house where they were sitting. They appeared to, there appeared to them tongues resembling fire, which were being tributed, and they distribute, and they rushed on, rest on each one of them, as each person received the Holy Spirit, and they were filled, that is, diffuse throughout their being with the Holy Spirit, and began to speak in other tongues, as the Spirit was giving them the ability to speak out clearly and appropriately.

SPEAKER_01

On the day of Pentecost and Sunday, people will celebrate Pentecost Sunday. On the day of Pentecost, the wind came. The fire appeared. The tongues was manifested. Oh no, no, no. There's no more tongue. Tongues is over. They ain't no such thing as tongues no more. Power was released. The church was born through the Holy Spirit. What's the purpose of the baptism? And in Acts chapter 1, verse 8, it says, Ye shall receive power. Power for witnessing, power for boldness, power for deliverance, power for ministry, power for spiritual warfare. That's the purpose of it. Without it you can't do nothing. Look at Acts chapter two, verse four.

SPEAKER_02

And they were all filled, that is, diffused throughout their being with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues. As the Spirit was giving them the ability to speak out clearly and appropriately.

SPEAKER_01

And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost and began to speak with other tongues. And the Spirit gave them utterance. Tongues is one biblical evidence of spiritual baptism. Be careful. Be careful. Because there are some. Be aware. Something is not right with that red flame. You have to be taught the truth about this. The work of the Holy Spirit, the Spirit convicts. That's the first thing it's going to do. It's going to convict something. If there's something that you know is not right, you have an inkling that is not right, that's probably the spirit trying to convict you to tell you, no, don't go that way. Don't go there. Don't go there. You can be going down the road, okay? Or going down the highway, or going down the interstate, and something in your mind would tell you at the next exit, turn off. Turn off at the next. You're going straight. That's your route. You're going straight. But when you get to the next exit, take it. Go down that way. And go around and come back up. What happened? You probably just saved yourself from getting to an accident. John sixteen and eight.

SPEAKER_02

John sixteen and eight reads. And he and he, when he comes, will convict the world about sin and about righteousness and about judgment.

SPEAKER_01

And when he comes, he will reprove the world from sin. Conviction is not condemnation. Conviction draws us to repentance. Lord, I'm sorry. Lord, I didn't mean to talk about. So and so that way. Lord, I didn't I didn't mean for it to go like that. Lord, I'm sorry. Please forgive me. Instead of you going around and say, well, he shouldn't say what he said. I need to go back over there, pay something with me, and just show him what I'm really about. The Spirit regenerates. Titus three and five.

SPEAKER_02

Titus three and five reads, He saved us not because of any works of righteousness that we have done, but because of His own compassion and mercy, by the cleansing of the new birth and renewing by the Holy Spirit.

SPEAKER_01

By the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Spirit. Sometimes we need a renewing. We need a renewing. The Holy Spirit illuminates scripture. It leads Romans eight and fourteen.

SPEAKER_02

For all who are allowing themselves to be led by the Spirit of God are the sons of God.

SPEAKER_01

The Spirit led believers avoid fleshly decisions. Spirit led believers avoid fleshly decisions. The Spirit empowers. Romans eight twenty-six.

SPEAKER_02

Romans eight twenty-six reads. We do not know what prayer to offer or how to offer it as we should, but the Spirit Himself knows our needs and at the right time intercedes on our behalf with the sign to deep forwards.

SPEAKER_01

When you do not know what to pray, the Spirit helps you. Now let's look at this list that we've been talking about, and hopefully next week we can get back because we're almost done with these, and that's the nine gifts of the Spirit. In First Corinthians chapter 12, verse 7 to 11. The gifts are supernatural abilities given by the Spirit. The nine gifts, revelation gifts. Look at these. They're broken down. What are the revelation gifts? Word of wisdom, word of knowledge, discerning of spirits, the power gifts, faith, gifts of healing, working of miracles, vocal gifts, prophecy, diverse tones, interpretation of tones. What's the purpose of the gifts? You don't have to read this because we've already been over this a lot of times. In 1 Corinthians 12 and 7, the manifestation of the Spirit is given to every man to profit withal. Gifts are for ministry, not pride. Galatians 5, 22 and 23, but the spirit, but the fruit of the spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, and temperance. Gifts reveals power. Fruit reveals character. A believer can have gifts and still lack maturity. God wants both character and power. Look at Galatians chapter 5, verse 16.

SPEAKER_02

Five and sixteen. But I say, walk habitually in the Holy Spirit, seek him, and be responsive to his guidance. And then you will certainly not carry out the desires of sinful nature, which responds impulsively without regard for God and his precept.

SPEAKER_01

Walking in the Spirit means daily surrender, obedience, prayer, worship, and holiness. Galatians 5 and 17. Next verse.

SPEAKER_02

For the sinful nature has its desire, which is oppressed to the spirit, and the desire of the spirit oppresses the sinful nature. For these two to the sinful nature and the spirit are in direct opposition to each other, so that you do not do whatever you want to do.

SPEAKER_01

There is a daily battle. Flesh wants control, spirit won't surrender. Ephesians four and thirty.

SPEAKER_02

Do not quench.

SPEAKER_01

The early church operated in supernatural power. Look at Acts chapter four, verse thirty one.

SPEAKER_02

And when they had prayed, the place where they were meeting together was shaken, and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak the word of God with boldness and courage.

SPEAKER_01

Look at the results. Boldness, signs, wonders, miracles. Romans fifteen and thirteen. Look at Zechariah chapter four, verse six.

SPEAKER_02

Then he said to me, This is the word of the Lord of Zerebel, Prince of Judah, saying, Not by might nor by power, but by my spirit, whom the oil is a symbol, says the Lord of hosts.

SPEAKER_01

Human ability cannot replace divine empowerment. How do we live spirit-filled? The first thing to do is pray daily. What is that? Jude 1 and 20. You don't have that one? No, I don't have that one.

SPEAKER_02

Alright, but that's okay. Jude 1 and 20 reads. Um Jude 1 and 20 reads. But you beloved, build yourself up on your most holy faith. Continual progress. Rise like an high, higher and higher. Pray for the Holy Spirit.

SPEAKER_01

The second thing to do is stay in the word. The Spirit and the Word work together. Worship continually. Look at Second Corinthians chapter 3, verse 17.

SPEAKER_02

2 Corinthians. What was it? 2 Corinthians.

SPEAKER_01

3 and 17.

SPEAKER_02

3 and 17. 3 and 17. Now the Holy Spirit, I'm sorry. Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty.

SPEAKER_01

Where the Spirit of the Lord is, there's liberty. That's where we need to be. We need to be where the Spirit of the Lord is. Amen. The chains and everything shall be broken.

SPEAKER_02

Yes.

SPEAKER_01

And destroyed.

SPEAKER_02

Amen.

SPEAKER_01

Obey promptings. Delayed obedience weakens sensitivity. Stay holy. Galatians five and twenty-five.

SPEAKER_02

Galatians five and twenty-five reads. If we live by the Spirit, we must also walk by the Spirit. With personal integrity, godly character, and moral courage, our conduct empowered by the Holy Spirit.

SPEAKER_01

If we live in the Spirit, let us walk in the Spirit. I will walk in the Spirit. I will hear God clearly. I will operate in power. I will bear fruit. I will fulfill my assignment. Fresh fire is coming upon my life. The Holy Spirit will lead me into truth. I receive boldness and power. My house shall be filled with glory. The Holy Spirit is not optional for the believer. He is the power of the church, the voice of God in the believer, the source of revival, the spirit of truth, the oil of anointing, the fire of heaven. God is raising up believers who are spirit-filled, spirit-led, spirit-empowered, and spirit sensitive. Father, in the name of Jesus, fill us afresh with the Holy Spirit. Let fresh fire fall upon us. Give us boldness, power, revelations, discernment, and holiness. Teach us to walk in the Spirit daily. We surrender completely to your will. In Jesus' name. Amen. Thank you so much for being on this podcast. Wherever you are, wherever you are watching from, please let us know. Leave us in a comment. Like, subscribe. And all that other good stuff. But let us know where you are watching us from. In Jesus' name. Amen.
