Whatever you're at. Whatever country you're in, whatever you're in. We pray today that wherever you're at, that you're staying cool. I know the uh weather is hot in a lot of places. And I um I just pray that everyone will be safe, especially during this holiday. There's so much stuff going on. We pray for everybody's safety. Whatever you may be. We greet you tonight in the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Your host, Apostle A. My wife, the prophet, Marion, and we just thank God for each one that will be listening to this broadcast tonight, tomorrow, or whenever you listen to it. First thing we want to do tonight, we want to pray a lot of people that need prayer. A lot of people, especially my family. I didn't know the details at the time, but I didn't know what the details were.
SPEAKER_03Thank you, Jesus. Come before your throne and race, precious Lord and Savior.
SPEAKER_02Thank you, Father God, for this day, Lord Jesus, you woke us up, Father God. And Lord, we just ask, Father God, right now, that you would put a hand of protection around all of these states and cities and towns that are, Father God, dealing with the heat, Lord Jesus, watch over the elderly, those with chronic illnesses, Father God.
SPEAKER_03I ask you to bless them, Father God. I ask, Father God, that they will find refuge, Father God, in a water station or in air conditioning somewhere, Father God. Many churches have opened, Lord Jesus, to bring them in, Father God, out of the elements of the heat. And so, Father, we're just asking, Father God, that you will touch those people, Father God, those homeless, Father God, those people, Father God, that have lost their way, Lord Jesus. We ask, Father God, that you will touch the minds and hearts of each and every born-again Christian, Father God, that they, Father God, will find it in their heart, Father God, to hand a stranger, really not a stranger as a child of God. You just don't know their name, a bottle of water, Father God, as they are passing them on the street or as they're on their porches, Father God. Father God, I ask, Father God, that this session, Father God, of your ministry, Father God, will be, Father God, um, a blessing unto the ones that are hearing and receiving it from many states and countries and cities, Father God. I thank you and I praise you, Father God, for blessing my husband uh bringing forth um the word, Father God, tonight. And Father God, you will bless me as I read your scriptures, Father God. Let it be a blessing. Let someone get delivered and set free, Father God. And Father God, I ask, as Father God, America celebrating 250 years, Father God, I ask, Father God, that you will watch over and keep all of your children from all due hurt, harm, and or danger, Father God. And Father God, that they will remember that you, Father God, and how you have blessed America, Father God. Have you taken it in on as your own, Lord Jesus? And Father God, I just ask, Lord Jesus, that people will fall down on their knees and they'll thank you, Father God, for this time, Father God, for a time such as this. I thank you and I praise you for keeping all those, Father God, that love you, honor you, Father God, and give thanks. Give time, Father God, to share your word with others. And in Jesus' name I pray. Amen.
SPEAKER_05Well, tonight our scripture tonight is going to come be coming from Luke, book of Luke, the 11th chapter, and we're going to look at verses 1 through 13. Hallelujah.
SPEAKER_03Instructions about prayer. Hallelujah. Luke 11 from the Amplified Bible. It happened that while Jesus was praying in a certain place, after he finished, one of his disciples said to him, Lord, teach us to pray. Just as John also taught his disciples, he said to them, When you pray, say, Father, hallowed be your name. Your kingdom come. Give us each day our daily bread, and forgive us our sins, for we ourselves also forgive everyone who indebted to us, who has offended or wronged us. Lead us not into temptation. Then he said to them, Suppose one of you has a friend and goes to him at midnight and says, Friend, lend me three loaves of bread for my family for a friend of mine who is on a journey, has just come to visit me, and I have nothing to serve him. And from inside he answers, Do not bother me. The door has already been shut, and my children and I are in bed. I cannot get up and give you anything. Verse 8, I tell you, even though he will not give up and give him anything, just because he is his friend, yet because of his persistence and boldness, he will get up and give him whatever he needs. Verse 9. So I say to you, ask and keep on asking, and it will be given to you. Seek and keep on seeking, and you will find. Knock and keep on knocking, and the door will be opened to you. For verse 10, for everyone who keeps on asking persistently receives, and he who keeps on seeking persistently finds. And to him who keeps on knocking persistently, the door will be open. What father among you, if his son asks for a fish, will give him a snake instead of a fish? Verse 12. Or if he asked for an egg, will give him a scorpion. Verse 13. If you then being evil, knowing how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask and continue to ask Him?
SPEAKER_05Prayer is not just something that believers do. Prayer connects us to God, changes us, releases God's power, and prepares us for his purpose. Lord teach us to pray. And tonight we some areas we hope to cover is understanding what prayer really is. Learn why prayer is necessary. Discover different types of prayer. Remove hindrance to effective prayer. Develop a consistent prayer life, and grow in intimacy with God. Prayer has been one of God's greatest gifts to mankind. Prayer is not informing God of something he does not know. God knows everything. Prayer is fellowship. Prayer is relationship. Prayer is dependency. Jesus performed miracles. Jesus preached with authority. Jesus raised the dead. Yet the disciples never asked, teach us to preach. They never asked, teach us to perform miracles. But they did ask, Lord, teach us to pray. Why? Because they understood his power came from his prayer line. Everything Jesus did publicly was born privately in prayer. Why do you think prayer is often the first thing believers neglect? What is prayer? A lot of people know, has heard all their life about prayer, but they don't know what prayer is. But prayer is communicating with God. And communicating with God is talking, listening, worship, repenting, thanking, asking, interceding, and waiting. Prayer is a conversation and not a dialogue. Jeremiah thirty-three and three.
SPEAKER_03Jeremiah thirty-three and three reads, Call to me, and I will answer you and tell you great and mighty things which you do not know and understand and cannot distinguish.
SPEAKER_01Philippians four and six read.
SPEAKER_03But in everything, every circumstance and situation by prayer and petition with thanksgiving. Continue to make your specific request known to God.
SPEAKER_05And just because of that scripture there, that's why a lot of times I have a problem when people say I have an unspoken request. There's no such thing as an unspoken request, and the word just said, make your request known to God. Open your mouth and tell God what you need him to do. Amen. Amen. Look at James chapter 5, verse 16.
SPEAKER_03James 5 and 16. Therefore, confess your sins to one another and pray for one another, that you may be healed and restored. The heartfelt and persistent prayer of the righteous man is able to accomplish much. Make efforts when put into action and made efforts by God. It is dynamic and can have tremendous power. What was the first part of that scripture? Therefore, confess your sins one to another.
SPEAKER_05Confess your sins one to another. That does not mean to confess your sins to anybody. Because anybody can use that against you. So you have to be careful who you confess to.
SPEAKER_01Amen.
SPEAKER_05I know some goes to a priest to confess. They have what they call confession, but they're not God. God says in his word, confess your sins one to another. Because this is important. Prayer builds relationship. God wants fellowship more than formality. Prayer changes changes us. Prayer changes our hearts before it changes our circumstances. Prayer invites God's power. God works through praying people. Prayer produces peace. This country is in a bad predicament because there is so much confusion, so much this going on, so much that going on, not only here, but in other parts too. But prayer produces peace because prayer replaces panic. Prayer opens spiritual doors. Many blessings are released through prayer. Since we know what prayer is, then why must we pray? If Jesus prayed, how much more do we need prayer? Amen. Mark chapter 1, verse 35.
SPEAKER_03Mark 1 and 35. Early in the morning, while it was still dark, Jesus got up, left the house, and went out to a secluded place and was praying there.
SPEAKER_05That's it. Jesus left the house and went to a place where he could be alone and prayed. Luke five sixteen.
SPEAKER_03Luke five and sixteen reads. But Jesus himself would often slip away to the wilderness and pray in seclusion.
SPEAKER_05Sometimes we just gotta get out by ourselves. Prayer keeps us strong. Yes. Jesus warned Peter Watch and pray. Prayer strengthens the spirit. Prayer gives direction. Many strong decisions comes from prayerless living. God speaks. Prayer positions us to hear Him. Prayer defeats temptation. Prayer increases spiritual strength. Prayer releases miracles. Elijah prayed. Hannah prayed. Daniel prayed. Pierre Church prayed. And Paul and Sales prayed. And look what happened while they were praying. Now the different types of prayer. Adoring God. Don't read the whole thing, just a couple of verses in Psalms 95. Starting at the first verse.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, just a couple. Oh come, let us sing joyfully to the Lord. Let us shout joyfully to the rock of our salvation. Let us come before his presence with a psalm of thanksgiving. Let us shout joyfully to him with psalm. Three, for the Lord is great, is a great God and a great king above all gods. Four, in whose hands are depths of the earth.
SPEAKER_05So we see how prayer is a form of worship. Also, there's a prayer of thanksgiving. Giving thanks before receiving.
SPEAKER_03For this is the will of God for you in Christ Jesus.
SPEAKER_05In everything give thanks to God. Do we thank him for the bad stuff? In everything. Do we thank him for the sickness? In everything. Giving thanks before receiving. Yes. Confession. What is confession? Confession is repenting honestly. Repenting honestly. First John chapter one, verse nine.
SPEAKER_03First John one and nine reads, If we admit that we have sinned and confess our sins, he is faithful and just, true to his own nature and promise, and will forgive our sins and cleanse us continually from all unrighteousness, our wrongdoing, everything not in conformity with his will and purpose.
SPEAKER_05Repenting honestly. A lot of people repent because somebody tells them to. Yes. Take your petitions to God. Whatever it is you need, take it to God. Intercession is praying for others. Ezekiel twenty two and thirty.
SPEAKER_03Ezekiel twenty-two and thirty reads. But I found no one.
SPEAKER_05Somebody needs somebody to pray on their behalf. We have to learn how to pray for each other. If you don't have anyone to pray for, pray for me. Spiritual warfare. This is praying against spiritual attacks. If you don't know what a spiritual attack is, I tell you like I've been told, just keep living because it's going to happen. Ephesians 6 and 18.
SPEAKER_03Ephesians 6 and 18 reads, with all prayer and petition, pray with specific request at all times, on every occasion, and in every season in the spirit. And with this in view, stay alert with all and petition, interceding in prayer for all God's people.
SPEAKER_05And the last one is praying in the spirit. We talk about this all the time.
SPEAKER_03Romans eight and twenty-six Romans eight twenty six. In the same way the Spirit helps us in our weakness, we do not know what prayer to offer or how to offer it as we should. But the Spirit Himself knows our needs and at the right time intercedes on our behalf with the sigh and groaning too deep for words.
SPEAKER_05How many verses I have?
SPEAKER_00We have one, two, three, four, five.
SPEAKER_05No.
SPEAKER_00How many verses in Jude? In Jude, just Jude 20.
SPEAKER_05Okay.
SPEAKER_03Um, yeah, Jude, Jude verse 20. Jude verse 20 reads, but you, beloved, build yourself up in the foundation of your most holy faith. Continual progress. Raise, rise like and edify higher and higher. Pray in the Holy Spirit.
SPEAKER_05Now, Luke chapter eleven was an example that Jesus gave to his disciples on how to pray. Let's break this down. Our Father. Prayer begins with relationship. Hallowed be thy name begins with worship. Thy kingdom come. Pray for God's will. Give us this day daily dependency. And forgive us repentance. We forgive others. Unforgiveness blocks prayer. Amen. Lead us not into temptation. Pray for protection. Thine is the kingdom. You end it with praise. Let me give you these five hindrances to prayer. The first one is sin. Isaiah fifty nine.
SPEAKER_00Isaiah fifty nine.
SPEAKER_03Beloved, the Lord's hand is not so short that it cannot save, nor his ear so impaired that it cannot hear. But your wickedness has separated you from your God. And your sins have hidden his face from you so that he does not hear.
SPEAKER_05So we see where sin is a hindrance to our prayer. Mark chapter eleven on forgiveness. Two scriptures.
SPEAKER_00Mark chapter eleven, verse two. Two scriptures, one and two.
SPEAKER_03When they were nearing Jerusalem at Beth Beth Bethage and Betni near the Mount of Oves, Jesus sent two of his disciples to, saying to them, Go into the village in front of you, and immediately as you enter it, you will find a donkey hole, tied which which has never been ridden by anyone. Untie it and bring it here.
SPEAKER_05James chapter one. That's what the King James is. Counted all joy when you fall into divers temptations. That's the reason I said, do we pray when we when things are really going bad? When we go fall into divers temptation, when we fall into the hands of the enemy, we have to count it all joy. No matter what's going on, I'm still joyful. Hebrews 11 and 6.
SPEAKER_03What does that say? Hebrews 11 and 6 says, but without faith, it is impossible to please God, to please him. For whoever comes to God must believe that God exists and that he rewards those who seek him.
SPEAKER_05Another hindrance of prayer is the lack of faith. Without faith, it is impossible to please God. In that story, the widow kept going to the judge. Kept going to the judge, wanting justice, wanting justice. And the judge, she went before him so many times, he just out and just gave her what it is she wanted, just so she would leave him alone. And Luke chapter 18 we find the friends at midnight. Both of us.
SPEAKER_01Um, Luke chapter 18.
SPEAKER_05Yeah. And Luke chapter eleven. Okay. Luke chapter eleven maybe ran at midnight. Okay.
SPEAKER_01Luke chapter eleven. Well verse.
SPEAKER_05Oh well.
SPEAKER_04Luke.
SPEAKER_05Luke. Chapter eleven. Then he was praying in a certain place and went and he stopped, and one of the disciples said to him, Lord, teach us to pray. And that's when he gave his formula to pray. And then in verse 5 it says, and he said unto them, which of you who has a friend will go to him at midnight? And will say to him, Friend, lend me three loaves of bread. Look at James chapter five. I'm almost done. And this is about Elijah. This is about Elijah. Verse number seventeen.
SPEAKER_03James five, verse seventeen. Elijah was a man with a nature like ours with the same physical, mental, and spiritual limitations and shortcomings. And he prayed intensely for it not to rain. And it did not rain on the earth for three years and six months.
SPEAKER_05So you see what persistence? What persistence would do? Persistence proves faith. Now let me give you a what will happen, or what can happen. Someone has a strong family. It brings deliverance. It brings revival. It brings boldness, joy, and victory. How to build a prayer life. For you that want how can I build my prayer life up? How can I get more involved in my prayer life? Set a daily prayer time. Find a quiet place. I know sometimes that's it's hard to do. Read scripture while praying. God will show you what you're reading in the spirit. The words is natural. But there's spirit in them words. Keep a prayer journey. Pray throughout the day. Fast regularly. Join corporate prayer. Pray with your family. Listen for God's voice and never stop praying. Amen. Prayer is not a religious obligation. It's the heartbeat of a spirit-filled believer. Every revival in Scripture and throughout church history has been preceded by earnest prayer. A church that prays becomes a church that grows in holiness, in unity, power, and compassion. A believer who prays consistently will be strengthened to overcome temptation, discern God's voice, and fulfill God's calling. Do not allow prayer to become your last resort. Make it your first response. Build an altar in your daily life and meet God there consistently. As you seek him faithfully, he will shape your character, deepen your faith, and use you mightily for his kingdom. Father, in the name of Jesus, thank you for giving us the privilege of coming boldly before your throne. Teach us to pray with sincerity, faith, and perseverance. Create in us a hunger for your presence that is greater than our desire for comfort or convenience. Remove every hindrance that keeps us from intimate fellowship with you. Strengthen our faith, and make us a praying people whose lives bring glory to your name. Let your homes, our homes, our church, and our community be transformed through the power of prayer. We ask these things in the name of Jesus. Amen. Well, we thank you again for being here tonight. Please tell your friends, tell your neighbor about these meetings that we have every week. Somebody can be blessed, somebody can be delivered, somebody can be different. And that's all we want. And until next week, we thank you in Jesus' name. Amen.
