How silly can I be?  I really thought the sasquatch/yeti cryptid was only in America.  I researched and at least 7 different places across the world have something similar!  Have you ever encountered a bigfoot/sasquatch, if so, let us know in the comments.

Good evening, my favorite adoers. What's been going on in your lives? I hope it's all good. So I have some pretty exciting news. I've been doing the same job for the past 14 years, and I love it. I really, really do. Unfortunately, I have fibromyalgia and some osteoarthritis settling in. And the job I have to do requires, now I'm not gonna say a lot of heavy lifting, but it requires heavy lifting on at least a daily basis. And a lot of eight-hour days constantly on your feet, going back and forth. It's a wonderful job. I love the job, but having fibro, if I'm having a flare, this job is very hard to do that way. And I have people who work with me that I never want to put all the work on them. So I decided to apply for another position that's in the same area where I work, and I got it. And I'm very excited. I'm sad to leave my people behind. And I'm not leaving them behind, but I'm leaving them there and going on to a different part, but I'll still get to see them. Unfortunately, fibro doesn't go away. It's a tricky beast. The more you move, the better you are. But if you overmove, the more you hurt. So what do you do? You know, you're kind of stuck in a catch-22. They tell you, oh, get some exercise. It'll help your fibromyalgia. It's kind of like telling a person with a migraine to go stare at the sun and you'll be cured. You know? It's like, great, thanks. So here we are. This is where, this is where I'm at. God is good. He put me in a new position. And so I'm very blessed. Do any of y'all have a chronic illness that you're living with? Let us know in the comments, you know. Tell me how you get through it. Tell me what kind of remedies you have, or you know, do you use salves? Do you use tinctures? Do you use medicine? Like what works for you? Let us know in the comments. Now let's go on to tonight's tale. It involves a Sasquatch. And if they're only in America. So without further ado, shh it's gonna be okay. What's more terrifying than seeing a bear while camping? For me, it's realizing there's no bathrooms. So what is it for you? How would you feel if you were out camping and you see a creature that's six to fifteen feet tall? It's human-like, but it could possibly be a primate of some sort. It's covered in hair and the smell is horrendous. Like could this be the infamous Bigfoot or Sasquatch or Yeti or Abominable Snowman? Probably not that one since we are in Texas. Which leads me into comparative cryptids. Are they the same thing? And just called different names, or are they completely different? Let's start with Bigfoot. Bigfoot's popularized in the 50s and 60s in California. Susquatch comes from the Coast Salish people of the Pacific Northwest, Canada and the US, where it was called Susquak, Wildman. The abominable snowman is a nickname coined in 1921 by a reporter mishearing man bear as abominable when describing Himalayan footprints. So I guess it was man bear snowman, and he heard abominable snowman. I think abominable sounds better. While Sasquatch and Bigfoot and the abominable snowman slash Yeti are large hairy primate like things, they come from different cultural and geographical contexts. So after hearing about the different types of bipedal ape-like beings, do you believe they exist? Why is it so many regions claim to have a Bigfoot type creature if they're not real? Would it change your mind to hear that these creatures aren't just in America? It blew my mind. I thought, my thought is why copy us about this? Or what if they aren't copying us? What if these creatures actually exist? So here are some creatures that are part of the Bigfoot family. Bhutan has Miguel, roughly translated to wild man. The Coscos, the alma, described as a wild hairy man in Central Asia. In Brazil, they have the Mapingari. According to Brazilian stories, the Mapangari was once an Amazonian shaman who discovered the key to immortality thousands of years ago. He angered the gods and was severely punished for his discovery, so he was transformed into a wandering hairy beast for the rest of his life. He resembles a giant sloth like creature. In Australia, the Yowie. The Yowie has an ape-like face and an or an orangey brown hair. Now, after hearing this, I can't help but think there has to be something to this Bigfoot thing. I don't think every single story out there is factual. However, I also don't think that every story is false. It's crazy that seven different types of Bigfoot is what I researched. And there are so many more countries and so much more forests to hide in. What other countries have a Bigfoot type creature? Have you had a close encounter with a Bigfoot creature? If so, please tell us your story. I got my information from Britannica, Newsweek, Sporkle, The BestofBhuton.com, Wikipedia, CryptidAtlas dot com, and fandom.com.

So and all that's interesting.com.

SPEAKER_01

So tell me have you ever encountered some kind of Bigfoot creature? Have you ever been overseas and encountered encountered their version of a Bigfoot type creature?

SPEAKER_00

Or any creature that's a cryptid type thing? And if so, what did you think? What did you do?

SPEAKER_01

You survived, so obviously you got away. What how how are you helped? How did you get away, if that makes any sense? I've never been one to believe in Sasquatch and Bigfoot. I really haven't, but I can't not believe with them being in so many different countries. You know, I don't I don't think they just said, hey, you know what? America's got this really cool primate thing, and it's really hairy and it's supposed to stink. Let's make up one of our own because we're cool like that. I don't think that's how that works. I think that there's something in our woods. I think there's something in our forests. I think that it's not necessarily hunting us, but I think it's just living there, doing its own little thing, and we're kind of uh trespassing on its property. And he just wants us off, or she just wants us off. I wonder what their little children look like. Like, are they really cute or are they really ugly? Hope one's not around and heard me say that. So tell me what you think in the comments. Just let me know. Write your own story, send it in to me. I'd love I would read it on the air for you, give you credit. That would be cool too. So, y'all, it's been a joy, it's been a pleasure, and I can't wait to get back on here next week with another new story, another new tale, another new. I don't know. I haven't come up with it yet, but it will be interesting. So I will let y'all go and shh, it's definitely going to be okay.
