Join me as a dear friend tells us about a few different places she has lived and had weird things happen. Does she move into haunted houses, or does the paranormal stalk her.
Good day, listeners. How are my adoers doing today? So I'm excited. It's the middle of the week, and I have a special guest with me. She goes by Allie, and she's a dear friend. Love her so much. I'm excited for her to be here. She has a few stories to share with us about some things that happened to her, and they're pretty, pretty creepy. So without further ado, shh, it's gonna be okay.
SPEAKER_00Take it away. Thank you, Leanne, for inviting me. This is my first podcast. I'm gonna try my hardest for us not to have to start over again. And I am so glad it's just voice only. There is no visuals here. So I just want to first off say I am a Christian woman, and when I get farther in my Christian walk, you know, I kind of struggle with the paranormal, and just that's all I'm gonna say about that. But I have had several personal experiences that I cannot explain. So and I would like to share them with you because I think they're like really creepy and really cool, and it's happened a lot to me. So I'm gonna start with my first story I titled the Sassoon House. So I'm from California, and my mom and boyfriend and and two kids and myself moved into this house in Sassoon. It was the second house, the second block of homes that was built in the town. So it was a very old house. And it was already creepy to begin with. Just as soon as you walk in, it's just plenty of open space. And as soon as you walk in, you just get the vibe. You know, we were not rich, we were pretty poor. So me and my stepsister had to share a bedroom. Well, in the middle of our bedroom, separating my side from her side, was this huge bookshelf that ran from wall to wall. And at night she would always say, Quit coming on my side of the room. Why are you on my side of the room? And I would tell her, I'm not, I'm still in bed. And one night she was saying something, and I said, What did you say? She said, Someone just sat on my bed. I just felt someone sit on my bed. And as a kid, I mean, I want to say I was in second, third grade, and that was kind of like the beginning of it. We brushed it off, you know, didn't think anything of it too much. I mean, it was creepy, but it was an old house, you know, the floorboards, it was solid, you know, flooring throughout the whole house. And one day I was sitting, and I guess you would call it a parlor, like in an old house, and there was no windows open, no doors, no AC, no heater. And I was sitting there and I'll never forget it. I was watching Home Improvement, and me and my stepsister and stepbrother were just sitting there, and all of a sudden, like a gust of wind went through me. My hair flew. I felt it in my soul, and it was just really crazy. And they both looked at me, and I remember saying, Did you see that? Did that just happen? Like, it was the creepiest thing because it it literally felt like wind, but I like felt it my whole body go through me. It was literally insane. So at that point, I think us kids definitely like felt like something was going on. Unfortunately, my mom and stepdad were on drugs. So me and the kids, we kind of just were on our own all the time. And we couldn't ever tell them because they wouldn't have believed us anyway. I do know that I kept a flashlight next to my bed because I was always scared to go to the bathroom. There was one bathroom in the whole house, and it was a five-bedroom house. And one night my sister was old enough. Let me back up real quick. My sister was old enough to get her own room. So she moved into the back room, and it was hardwood floors, but there was still little cracks in the floor, and she called me back there, and I ran back there, and there was a light underneath the floorboards. And I was like, what is that? Like, nobody goes under the house. It was completely insane. So my brother ended up the next day going under the house, and it was my flashlight that was under the house. Yes. And our next door neighbor, she had lived there for so long. I think that the house was passed down from you know family to family, and her name was Mary, and I'll never forget her. She was like our light in the neighborhood, she was always there for us, so nice to us. And she told us that she had a newspaper article about our house, and a little boy had hung himself in my sister's closet. And I told we were like, but Mary, there's no closet there. There's no closet in her bedroom. And they had covered the closet. So there was no closet, but at one time there was a closet. So I mean that was that was really creepy. I did reach out to my grandma and kind of tell her some things that were going on, but of course, like I'm young, you know, kids have imaginations. It was not taken seriously, so I kind of like gave up on that and just we just kind of kept it to ourselves. You know, back in this day, I don't even think Game Boys were a thing, but there used to be these like little handheld games, but you couldn't switch games. It was just like like like a theme. Like I had the little mermaid one, and you know, it would make the music, and it was missing, and I always played it. Well, one day I heard it and it was in like the attic, and it was going from one side of the house, and I was following it all the way to the end of the house, and then it would go all the way to the other side of the house, and when it stopped in the living room, like a piece of the ceiling fell, like someone had stepped on it, and then the game went off, and I never heard it again. So I think that was probably the time that I was like, okay, it's getting real, like someone stole my video game, like you know. Um, eventually, my grandmother sold the house, and I would go with her sometimes to pick up, I guess, the mortgage check from the lady she sold it to. And my grandmother told me, Don't mention you used to live here. And I never really understood why. But looking back, it was probably because my grandma probably did believe me. And one day we went to get the mortgage check, and the lady had horses, and she's she said, you know, did the past owners ever say anything about weird stuff happening in this house? And my grandma was like, No, why? She said, Well, some things have been happening, and she said, I brought my horses in the trailer up to the house one day, and they all got spooked. They didn't even get out of the trailer, they spooked her horses bad, and so you know, my grandma just didn't really say anything, and when we got in the car, I was just like, Grandma, I told you that house wasn't right. I told you something was going on in the house. So, anywho, that is the Sassoon house.
SPEAKER_01Okay, can I ask some questions on it? Yeah, sure. Okay, so flashlight. Yes. Ever figure out how it got under the house?
SPEAKER_00Absolutely not. I mean, as kids, we were scared to go under there. Right. We knew our our parents, you know, they were off in their own world. Like they wouldn't go under there. Yeah. It took everything we had to get our brother to go under there to find out what was going on. We didn't know it was my flashlight. We just it was a light, you know, and so and it was on, it was on.
unknownYeah.
SPEAKER_01That's just creepy. It is very creepy. I mean, uh what makes it creepier that it could be a ghost or a person? A person stalking you.
SPEAKER_00But you know what? Like as kids, we didn't even think like a person. I mean, that's when you know kids ran the streets and walked around and rode bikes, and you know, we didn't think about that. But that is good because I sure wasn't thinking about that.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, definitely. So, okay, so you've got that, and then your video game. When did you notice from what time to what time? Like, how long was the time that you noticed it was missing to the time you next heard it?
SPEAKER_00Like days, weeks, hours? I mean, it was probably a couple days.
SPEAKER_01Okay. Do you think your brother was tricking you?
SPEAKER_00No, my my brother and sister, my they moved out, they broke up, my mom and stepdad broke up. So it was just me and my mom in the house at that time.
SPEAKER_01Oh, so that's worse. Yeah. Unless it's the creepy guy that was stalking you living there. Oh no, it was it was worse.
SPEAKER_00And it was just creepy because you know, back then it was like they only played one song on it. Yeah, you know, and it was like undeniable what it was. I am so so yeah, yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_01And it isn't it terrible that parents don't listen, like when kids say, Hey mom, like when my whenever my kids were little, I was like, You saw what? I believe you, yeah, no problem.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, no, they we were on our own as kids for sure.
SPEAKER_01Okay, next story. I'm excited.
SPEAKER_00Okay, so this short this story is kind of short, but I think it's relevant because it's something like I can't explain, and it's just like it still kind of not haunts me, but I think about it. Okay. So my grandmother, my mom's parents, my grandparents raised me from finally I got away from my mom in fourth grade, shortly after the Sassoon House episode, actually. And so my grandmother raised me, she passed away my senior year, and we were that was my best friend. That was my mom, really. And I was living in an apartment and I was dating this guy, and I really, really liked him. And I had this dream one night, and I wish I could remember the dream. I don't remember anything but the beginning of my dream. My grandmother was in my dream, and she put a band-aid on my arm, on the top of my arm. And then the dream went on, and at the end of the dream, she came and she ripped it off. And when she ripped it off, I woke up and I sat up in bed. And it was like it was real, you know, and so I didn't really think anything else of it. So I got up and I was in the bathroom, and my boyfriend came into the bathroom, and he goes, What is on your arm? And I looked, and there was a perfect outline of a band-aid. Like I had been in the tanning bed for weeks, and I freaked out, and I think he really freaked out too because it was like I couldn't even get the words out to tell him about my dream. I couldn't even say anything for a while, and then I told him, and like he was freaked out, and then I went to work, and you know, in California, you know, nice weather. I always wore like tank tops and skirts to work, you know. And I had told my co-workers about my dream and what happened, and even they're like, We see you every day. Like, you did not have a band-aid on your arm. That is clearly a band-aid. Well, I don't even think it was a month later, he broke up with me, and I really liked him. And I was really hurt, it took me a long time to get over it, and I really felt like maybe like my dream, my grandma was trying to like protect me and maybe like give me a warning, you know, about the band-aid. I really don't know. But that is definitely the grandma band-aid story. Oh, I mean, how do you explain that?
SPEAKER_01Right, how does that happen? I have no idea. Like, I mean, just just rip it off. And the thing you're gonna be okay. Look, how much it hurts, but you're gonna be okay. I don't know. I don't know, but the thing was that mark took over a month to go away.
SPEAKER_02Oh my gosh.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, it stayed for a very, very long time.
unknownOh my gosh.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. So well, not only do you have a reminder of your grandma, which is a blessing. Yes. But oh my gosh.
SPEAKER_00It's crazy.
SPEAKER_01It is. It really I don't know if I've ever had a mark after a dream. I really don't. I not off the top of my head, I can't think. Now, I don't know.
SPEAKER_00Like, I would love for somebody, especially anyone that's listening, to explain that to me because I still to this day, like, it boggles my mind that yeah, that happened. So okay, the mark, was it like a white mark or was it like a bruise? It was a white mark, like I had tanned for weeks with the band-aid on and then ripped it off, and it was like a band-aid, a white oh my tail skin. That's so nice. But it was like perfectly shaped. It was nuts.
SPEAKER_01Oh okay. If you heard that, listeners, I was my pencil hitting the microphone. Sorry about that.
SPEAKER_00And I'm I'm really trying not to move, but I'm super animated when I talk, so bear with me. It's fine. It's fine. Okay, so you ready for the next story? I am, I think. I think. Okay, so this story is called the Abilene House.
SPEAKER_02Oh, I don't know.
SPEAKER_00I've lived in some creepy houses, I guess. I don't know if like I'm just drawn to the paranormal or I'm not really sure. I'm definitely sensitive to it. Yeah, I can say that. So we lived in this, me and my husband moved into this house in Abilene. It was one of those old homes that the washer and dryer hookups were in the kitchen. Oh, okay. You know, so it was a pretty old house. And we had three dogs, and my dog, her name was Lucy. She would never, and I said never. We lived there four years. She never would go in the kitchen. I could put a piece of steak in the middle of the floor. She's not going. She refused to go in the kitchen. Okay. And my son was, I believe my oldest son probably was about six or seven at this time. So it was just us three living in the home. And one night we were in the living room watching TV, and it was just me and my son, and I heard this noise from the kitchen. And I was like, I mean, it was like loud and crashing and stuff falling. And I was just like, what's going on? So I went into the kitchen, and we had like really high cupboards, and our cans, our bread, it was all spilled out into the floor. Yes. And this is like, I was like, oh my goodness, my husband is not gonna believe me. I have to take a picture of this. Right. I took a picture of it. I mean, it wasn't stuffed full to where something fell like it would have been like a domino effect. It was definitely like something pushed it, and the cupboards were wide open, both doors were open, and I'm just like that. I cannot explain that. My son is not old enough to reach, and he was there with me. So that creaked me out a lot. And I showed the picture to my husband, and he just brushed it off. He's a very good, like I don't believe in that. You know, there's an explanation, but obviously in my eyes, there was no explanation. So as time went on, now next to the cupboards to the right is the fridge. And now, mind you, this is the kitchen. My dog will not step foot in. And she's the dog that was so loyal. She would l look, she would listen, she was no leash, nothing, anything I told her to do, she would do. So I went to open the fridge one day, and as I was opening the fridge, in my ear, this is what I heard.
SPEAKER_03Hey, oh no, that scared the crap out of me. Yeah, absolutely.
SPEAKER_00Like this kitchen is bad. It scared me so much. I told my husband what happened, he brushed it off again. And I was so upset. I was like, no, you don't understand. Like, there's something going on in this kitchen. And he just, oh, it's all in your head, there's an explanation, yada yada, whatever. So I don't know how long after this it was. I I mean, I could guess and say a few months, but my husband came to me and he goes, I have to tell you something. But I really don't even want to tell you, but I'm gonna tell you anyway, and I'm like, okay. He goes, I was opening the fridge and I heard the same exact thing in my ear as you did.
SPEAKER_03And when he goes, hey, he goes, it's the same thing. He goes, I even felt it in my ear. Kid you not, it just turned itself off.
SPEAKER_01Okay, we still okay, we're still recording. Are we? Yes.
SPEAKER_00Did we lose any of it?
SPEAKER_01No, it's it's still at 20 minutes, like okay. Kid you not, the computer just like totally turned off.
SPEAKER_00Wow.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, or did something that it's never done before. That was insane. Okay, okay.
SPEAKER_00So you're at yeah, so hey, so and like he didn't want to tell me because he didn't want to like give confirmation that the stuff that's been happening was happening, and he is not he does not believe in the paranormal.
SPEAKER_01Right.
SPEAKER_00So I knew when he told me that it happened. Yeah, you know. Um the last thing really that happened at that house that I can remember was I was laying down and taking a nap, and I got up because I thought my son was out of his room running around. And so, I mean, I knew I heard it. I got up, I ran to the corner by his room, and I kind of jumped out to you know, get on to him about you know, getting back in bed, and he was sound asleep. But I heard it. Yeah, like you know, when you live in your house for a long time, you know the sounds, yes, you know, and so I mean, I would love to give the people that live there now, like, you know, some sort of like warning. Or I would love to talk to them and say, hey, yeah, does anything happen in here? So that was the Abilene House. My longest story is probably gonna be titled The Baird House. So I'm just gonna give you some backstory. I met my husband in California when he was in the Navy. We were next door neighbors. When he didn't re-enlist, they moved us back to his his hometown. So I went from Sacramento, California to Baird, Texas. For y'all that don't know anything about this area of Texas, there's nothing there. And we lived out, I moved out into the country. We moved into their house. I had never met his parents before. And so, needless to say, it was an experience, right? Total experience. Experience. Culture shock for sure. Their house is an old house. There is an addition to it with two rooms, a den, and like a pantry that were added on to the home. I knew that his sister unfortunately had passed in the house when she was little. I didn't know any of like the details of it, and I didn't really want to ask because I figured I would know the details once I was ready to or they wanted me to know. So it was kind of like hush-hush. So we move into the house, and every single night I would go into the bathroom. And as soon as I would leave the bathroom, it felt like someone was chasing me out of the bathroom. Like hairs on the back of my neck, like just that gut feeling like something's not right. So I would leave the oven light on because I mean I was scared. And it was every single time I went to the bathroom. So this went on for probably a month or so. And one day his mom asked me, Why do you keep leaving the oven light on? And I was like, Well, because when I leave the bathroom, I feel like someone's chasing me, and I get scared. And there was a very long pause, and that's when she told me that her daughter had died in the bathroom. And that would have been great information to know ahead of time. And I lived in that house on and off for several years, and still the same vibe for sure. The den is kind of like a storage area now, but as soon as you open the door to go in the den, that feeling is there. I just can't explain it. It's just the whole like vibe you feel inside of you, like something is not right. I stay away from the den, and my brother-in-law said the same thing about the den that he feels it too. As far as we know, nothing has happened. It's just a piece of property, I guess the den was built on. I'm I can't really explain it. But the den is creepy.
unknownOkay.
SPEAKER_00I stay out of the den. Um I know that James's mom, my husband's mom, it's fine, uh, used to say that when the kids were little, her kids were little, because they they lived in the house for years. Um, that she would hear kids laughing and playing, and she'd run into the hallway to get onto them and they would be sleeping. I remember her saying that. And one night, this was back when I was a smoker and doing bad things with cigarettes. I would go on the I was on the back porch and had the door shut, and I knew I heard my kids running up and down, giggling, laughing, and I let it go on just for a minute until I was like 100% sure. And I busted through the back door and they were sleeping. So I had experienced the same thing that she experienced, like undeniable. No one else is awake. I'm outside, and and I heard them. I know I heard them.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_00Um, just so many things in this home. I guess I'm gonna move on to right outside the bathroom. There was like a trip tech, which is like three pictures that are separate, but if you put them together, it makes one picture. Okay. So there's three different pictures hanging right outside the bathroom door. And when my my daughter was born, she was very little, probably a month old. I would go over and watch Let's Make a Deal with with his mom. That was like our thing, and it's winter time, and it's cold, and there is absolutely no windows open, no doors open, and we're watching Let's Make a Deal, and I hear a noise, and I say, Do you hear that? And she's like, Yeah, what is that noise? She goes, I don't know. So I get up to investigate and I look in the hallway and the middle picture is swinging back and forth, and it doesn't stop for a very long time, and it is only the middle picture, which I can say that some time passed and that middle picture fell and broke, not like when this was happening, but the middle picture was swinging. I'll never forget that because like I'm I'm watching it, I'm looking at it, and it's like we couldn't explain it.
SPEAKER_01Right. It was nuts. You feel anything in the hallway? Sorry, sorry.
SPEAKER_00It's fine, it's fine. You can ask me a question, but you kind of feel something in the house. Yeah. Not just now the den is creepy, the bathroom is creepy. And then later on in life, when I moved back in with them after some series of events, his mom actually passed in the house as well. So now we have two people that have passed in the house. And after me and my husband got remarried, I moved into his bedroom that used to be his mom's bedroom. Okay. And one day I was laying down and I felt like someone hadn't put their knee on the bed. And I was so scared to turn around and look. At first I thought it well, maybe it was my cat. Well, the door was shut. There's no one else in here with me. So I finally get the nerve to turn around. Of course, there's nothing there, but the blankets are all pushed in. Exactly where I felt the knee. And I'm just like, oh my gosh, this is nuts. You know, I finally fell asleep, but I was just terrified. And then in that room, my husband's cousin was came back from like a physical therapy rehab. He had some medical issues, so he was staying with us while he was recovering, and he had a dog, and everyone was gone, but I was I was hanging out with the dog. Her name was Honey. Well, I couldn't find her, and so I'm looking all over and I'm calling her, and I can't find her, and she doesn't ever go outside because she likes to chase cats. So I finally went into my bedroom and turned on the light, and she is staring in the closet with the closet door open, just staring in it. Ugh. And she wouldn't move.
SPEAKER_03And it was the creepiest thing ever.
SPEAKER_01I've got like both knees like bouncing.
SPEAKER_00It was just so crazy because it was it was dark and she just staring in the closet. I just I don't know. There's been a lot that's happened in the house. I know that I've been sleeping in my daughter's room, like just taking a nap with her, and I've woken up to like uh growling, super loud growling that's woken me up. And I can't really like you know when you're sleeping, dreaming, but then you're kind of waking up, so you're like halfway kind of in dreamland, but you know what's going on around you, like the noise, the growling, it was going on around me. Oh and then I've also woken up to like huge loud bangs on like the door and the wall, and no one's there. I don't know, so just to conclude, like I guess I'm just sensitive to stuff. I'm not really sure. I know that I've had a lot of very personal experiences, and I know that there's the people around me don't have the same experiences that I'm having, even though they they live with me. Right. You know what I mean? So I do believe that you either go to heaven or hell. Yes, but I struggle. This is where my struggle is, because if you either go to heaven or hell, how have I experienced all of these things that I can't explain?
SPEAKER_01Right. I can tell you what my sister tells me, and she told me this years and years ago. Because I had an experience when I was young, we were living in Germany, and I thought I saw my grandma.
unknownYeah.
SPEAKER_01My sister told me that it's probably demons because you can't you're not gonna leave heaven. Yeah, you're not why would you leave heaven? It's beautiful. You can't get out of hell. So there's only one thing, and that's the that's the devil using his demons to mimic your loved ones, mimic the stuff to get you interested in the occult to take your eyes off the Lord.
unknownYeah.
SPEAKER_01You know?
SPEAKER_00Well, you have a point.
SPEAKER_01And I mean, to me, that's more terrifying than just a ghost. I mean, I know he can't hurt me. Yeah. You know, but just the thought that, you know, that's not who, you know, you're like, oh, it's a ghost or whatever, and that's creepy. But to know that it's a demon, right, you know, trying to get you, you know, but it's like, well, you you can't. I'm I'm with Jesus now, but you can take my eyes off of them.
SPEAKER_00But I've never really felt like during, you know, any of these experiences, well, kind of like running out of the bathroom chasing me. But other than that, I really haven't felt like they were like able or like out to get me. It just I can't explain it. Right.
SPEAKER_01So I mean that that's just what my sister told me. It's what I go by. I'm not right. You know, so I I've had weird things happen too. So I get it. That's I mean, I have no doubt. Obviously, I have this podcast, so I believe something. You know, I don't really believe in heaven and hell. I believe you must believe on the blood of Jesus that he died for your sins, you know, to go to heaven, admit you're a sinner. But I believe devils out there run them wild too.
SPEAKER_00So has to be, yeah. Has to be something going on. Right. Well, thank you so much for letting me come on your podcast. I loved it. Was it as bad as you thought? No, no, it was super easy because there's no visual, there's just audio.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_00I definitely I won't listen to it, but oh, I'm gonna listen to it. I don't like the sound of my voice, it's fine.
SPEAKER_01I think you have a great one. Okay, well, listeners and my adduers, thank you so much for being here with us. Thank you for listening. If you have any explanations for some of the things Miss Allie talked about, write in, give us a comment, whatever, you know. Uh if you have a story of your own, love to hear it. So send it in.
