Who you gonna call? 911 duh? part 2

I gave Rebecca a simple assignment....Look up a few 911 ghost calls and I would do the same....somehow we both took interest in two of the same calls!!  We are such silly gooses!  After 1000 attempts to get this recorded and uploaded, it's finally here!!  Enjoy!!

911 call is placed at 11.03 p.m. The guy is screaming, it's not human, it's not human, it's not human. But before that, T, as he likes to go by because he wants to remain remain anonymous, is driving down the road. And he's passing like an old Civil War battlefield. And he passes a man standing on the side of the road, bleeding from his head, wearing an old Civil War uniform. He goes to stop and pull over when he hears a thud in the back of his truck. And that's when he realizes there is something in the back there that is doesn't look human at all. As a matter of fact, it's it's like got long legs, long arms. It's extremely tall. He doesn't know what it is, he's just terrified of it, and he realizes he didn't bring his pew-pew with him. All he has is a wood splitting axe. Now, Rebecca has some more information on this, plus, she has some difference, like some of our facts are different. So I'm gonna let her take over from here on the part she has.

Okay, so I have a the very similar story. A lot of the things are very similar, but the different things is like my call happened July 31st, 2021, whereas hers said you said August.

And the man, it said the call came just before midnight, where a young man was saying he'd seen a man streaked with blood on the side of a country road staring black back blankly in the dark. And as the dispatcher tried to pin down the man's location, you can hear the loud thump over the line. And the young man can be heard screaming that the man streaked with blood was not human over and over. And the dispatcher asked if the young man was okay, and he replied that something was in the bed of his truck. The frightened caller described a pale-skinned monster landing in the bed of his truck at 50 miles an hour, then flying over the roof when he hit his brakes and then just vanishing. And then some of the concerning information about this, not only for the fact that we have two different dates on this, is that the deputies also released the entire 11-minute recording without bleeping out the caller's name or phone number, which is out of the norm. They usually try and keep people's information private just for their safety and all of that. And then the dispatcher seemed strangely unprofessional by saying things like, I'd be scared too, and fixating on the monster's appearance, like, oh, maybe it was it, like, was it a deer? And then when deputies responded to the scene, they flew out a drone to scout the area, but they didn't write out any sort of incident report. And then the North Carolina Highway Patrol took over the investigation, but the paperwork shown in the YouTube video has troopers describing the scratch marks on the truck to be more consistent with tree branches.

So, like some people believe that the story is fake and was concocted to create a local monster to kind of like drum up tourism, especially since the person who made the YouTube video declined to connect the author of the article that I read to the driver who had interviewed anonymously and explained in a follow-up video that the man had sold his truck shortly after that encounter, which explains the lack of pictures, lost his phone on a fishing trip, which explains why the number given in the 911 call doesn't work, and has also been extremely reluctant to speak to anyone, including Carolina case files, out of an intense desire to move on.

Okay, so I don't know if that lends more credence to a story. Like, just leave me alone. I know what I saw. He's not seeking the limelight. I would lose my phone on a fishing story too if you gave my phone number out on another.

Yeah. So I'm I'm not sure how I feel about that. It could work either way, really, on whether or not he felt like he saw something for real or whether he was trying to drum up tourism. Um that's a that's a huge catch 22 right there. Like, because I know in the one in the interview I had from BroBible.com, he said that the the guy wanted to remain completely anonymous, like he wanted nothing from this just for his story to be out there.

Yeah, I mean, it's not unheard of. I've heard of many stories like this where it's like almost like now they've become stopped. So I have abnormally long arms, and yeah, I don't know whether it was human or something else. If you were to guess, like, do you think it was an animal, a tree branch? What do you think?

Um see, I don't know. I if there is if I do like entertain the thought that there is there was something in the bed of his truck, I would assume that there would also be scratches in the bed of his truck, but we just don't have any information on that.

Yeah, I that's just that's creepy stuff. But what does it have to do with the ghost guy he saw? I wonder. I'm just saying a ghost guy because he was wearing a Civil War uniform.

I mean, he could have very well been role-playing in one of those Civil War reenactments, but yeah, yeah, because the article I read it didn't have anything to do with what the guy was wearing, just that he saw someone streaked with blood.

So I'm wondering now, do are these articles like just taking like creative license with it and just adding their own, you know, hey, let's just say he was wearing this to make it spookier, you know? It could have been what if the guy wasn't wearing a Civil War outfit at all, was attacked by the thing that jumped into his truck. Possibly this guy T could have saved that guy's life.

Maybe I I was a little too freaked out to actually listen to the 911 call because I think this article had like a link to that YouTube video. It's but the idea of like listening to the calls kind of like freaked me out a little too much to be doing that alone in my house, right?

Right. I listened to it, but it was in the daytime because that's who I am as a person. I can make these podcasts all night long, but when it comes to actually listening to the scary stuff, it's gotta be during the day. Yeah. What if it's true? Yeah, because I can go back, I can go to bed and cuddle into my honey, and everything's okay. My honey's here. But if I was all alone, oh heck no, nope, not nope, no, not for me. So my thought is to go from this this story particularly into the one from Honolulu. Because I think you're right with the way it segues and the the wires and all that before the Alabama, uh Alabama, Colorado, Colorado story.

Yeah, so another creepy kind of like also not creepy, I guess, story is from Honolulu, Hawaii, and around the 2013 time frame, this family was out on vacation whenever they received a call from a neighbor because there was multiple police cars dispatched to their house. And the officer the neighbor talked to said that they had received a 911 call from their house and there was no caller on the other end. And the protocol is when they receive a call like that, they call back to see if anyone answers and see what type of emergency there was or if there was a if the call was made by mistake. So when no one answers, they'll send out multiple units to investigate just in case there's a crime underway in the home or someone is suffering some type of medical emergency. And in this instance, no one was home and the call was a mystery. A couple nights after this family got back from their vacation, it happened again. This time, though, someone was home to answer 911 whenever they called back to see what was going on. And the lady who is the woman of the house, like thanked the dispatcher profusely, like, thanks for coming out and checking on everything, sending the fam like people out. Because what if something had been happening in their home and they weren't home to handle it or anything? Like, but they had it taken care of.

And then four nights after that incident, the same thing happened to another house a few houses down from theirs. And those neighbors were not home, so police were dispatched to see if everything was okay, and it was. And the family that this had originally happened to were advised by the police dispatch to call the phone company to see why their landline was spontaneously making these 911 calls. When the technician came out to see what was going on, the repairman found out that when their phone line was converted from the copper wires to fiber optic wires, the phone company forgot to sever the old copper connection. So the copper wires may have shorted because of dampness and condensation. And when moisture gets into the copper wires, the resulting electrical short can send out pulses to the telephone company's central exchange, which can then kick off those 911 calls. And according to the commander of the police communications division in Honolulu, there had been a huge increase in the number of dropped 911 calls. Statistics show an almost 40% increase from 2013 to 2014. And then the first nine months of 2015 show the Honolulu PD had been responding to an average of 12,152 Phantom 911 calls a month. Most of those dropped calls did come from missed dials from mobile phones or like bucket pocket dials or butt dials. But some of them were just false 911, like phantom 911 calls where no one was on the line when they called back. You know, uh-huh. Nothing like no one was there, they didn't answer, whatever. But like the downside to those dropped calls is that when there is no one there, once police is dispatched, is that it's still important for police to respond. Because you never know until you get there if there's an actual emergency happening.

Right. So during those Phantom 911 calls, there's no telling how many other real emergencies they were late for.

Yes, exactly.

Oh my gosh. So was it what do you think? Was this like lazy workmanship on the telephone people's side? Or is that just something?

Either that or there's they it could be one of those things where they were just switching a bunch of people over so they had, you know, backlog and stuff. So they were just trying to get through their business as quickly as possible and weren't even thinking about disconnecting those other lines because they're like, oh, well, it's connected to this one, leaving this one here is probably fine.

And didn't even think about the consequences of what would happen if it shorted or whatever.

I'm just wondering, like, I because my thought is like when you're you're switching something over in your house, okay. Like I know you you've redecorated, you've done different things to your home before. Do you leave the old there or do you move it and get rid of it?

So because it looks better, it le less trash, you know. Yeah, I mean this this is under the ground. Yeah, but still, it's you know, later on you're gonna be, you know, people are gonna be digging for something. They're gonna be, oh, what are these fires for? You know, and hopefully they're not live. I don't know. But not that electrocution's funny, it is not people. PSA being electrocuted is not funny. Sorry. Anyway, yeah, okay, so I well, I I see your point. Uh, it's done everywhere, I'm sure. So but that's still sad that there was a lot of 911 calls that should have been prioritized and were not because of this.

Yeah, I mean, you never know how quickly they get through these. I mean, that is a lot in one month, but if they are able to do their jobs quickly, then it could be just one of those things where they're quickly calling back, someone answers and they're like, Oh, I'm so sorry, that was an accident. Click, you know? Yeah, so it could be done with over pretty quick.

True, true. Hopefully, they'll enough people were able to answer and say, hey, no, it butt doll, whatever, sorry, it was an us.

Okay, so that brings us to Pueblo, Colorado. It was August 11th, 2018. The Pueblo Police Department Communications Center got what they refer to as an abandoned 911 call. The call came from Imperial Memorial Gardens funeral home and cemetery located at 5450 West State Highway 78. A dispatcher answered the phone just as the line disconnected. No response from anyone on the line. An officer checked and a dispatcher called back. Police documents show that the call was answered, but no one spoke. It was just static, quote unquote. Officers went back to check out the funeral home, but it was locked and dark with no one in sight. Probably just the line, just line trouble, right? Let's go with that, Captain Tom Rummel told the Pueblo chieftain. Okay, first of all, the funeral home was established in 1938. There, they recorded this call, and it's it's the the phone call that you hear in the last podcast that was supposed to be the podcast, but is nothing but the 911 call. Play that. It's the 911 call to the from the Pueblo Cemetery. Oh gosh. What's it called, Rebecca? Dispatch? No, the funeral home.

Yes. Then that's where the 911 came call came from. And it was at 328 in the morning a.m. Okay? 3:28 a.m. Because that's when everybody's having funerals, right? And so that's when you expect to hear a 911 call, right? Listen to the call. You can hear if you listen very carefully, it say help. I need help or send help. Listen to the voice. Yeah, it was like send help. Help.

It is and it's like it sounds like a male voice.

Yes. It's like there's the female dispatcher, 911. What is your emergency? And there's like nothing. And then all of a sudden you hear help. And then she's like, I think it says it again. I'm not sure. And you they you hear something like that. So listen to it. It is creepy as all get out. So the reason why I had Rebecca tell the story of Honolulu, Hawaii was is this just a short, like in the line?

Yeah, because the you can hear all the other, like some of the other 911 dispatchers in the background of that call. So it makes you wonder if like another dispatcher was saying, like, we're sending help, right? Or send help to like this location.

Yes, exactly. And that that is definitely a theory in my mind, though. I I can hear it on her line, like the dispatcher's line, like not in the back.

Yeah, and it's like it's static y and then it kind of clears out a little bit just as like they're talking.

So yeah, and the way it differentiates from the Honolulu thing is like, you know, the protocol is they call back to see if anyone answers to make sure it wasn't like some tour sort of short, something wasn't some sort of like pocket dial, butt dial, missed dial, whatever it is.

And someone answered. That's the the call was answered, and that's what that 911 call is. Is like they answered and they're trying to get someone to speak and they don't hear anyone.

Oh. I don't like a CB or like someone has like one of those, and I I don't even know what kind of walk, it's like a walkie-talkie, like radio. Okay. I maybe a C V radio, but like or like the the long distance ones that they you would use when they're out in the woods.

Yeah, and we would have it, and all of a sudden, when a trucker would go by, we would hear his conversation of you know, hey trucker, this is trucker, and you know, I see a smoky and whatever, you know.

Yeah, the technology's definitely gotten a lot better when it comes to stuff like that, right? But it was I know, like back, you know, what was in 1998?

Yeah, 98, so long ago. Oh my gosh. But yeah, it was 98. But also, if we turned it from like like it had a switch A and B, and we had to be on the same one, our the receiver had to be on the same one as where Susan was the the sender? Yeah, sender, sender and the receiver, because that's what we're gonna call it. And if it wasn't, we would pick up the baby monitor from next door at Sydney Lease's house.

Yeah, that's so that's so weird how like they used to, it's was such like rudimentary, kind of like basic radio systems, basically. Like you had a miniature radio in your house. Yeah, you're doing that sending and receiving.

Okay, got you, got you, rudimentary, got it. So, but no, we could actually hear like every word they were saying, and it was so crazy. And I was like, okay, this is just rude. So we would make sure we would not turn it on that, but we told them that it could happen if they ever wanted to hear if we were talking about them or not.

So they but like what if what if something like that was happening where like some type of line was crossed, yeah, with signals and stuff.

I need help, but it the line just got crossed, and it showed that it was Imperial Memorial Gardens, and it actually was somewhere somewhere else.

I don't know why. I think next week I may do a podcast over the creepy things that my children have said, and children in general have said. Oh like have a consensus, like people send in the creepiest thing your children have said, the most unhinged, and you know, do a podcast about that because that crap is creepy, kids can be creepy, kids are creepy, yes, can't stand that, like standing there or sitting there in the doorway crying and you know, staring at you, and it's dark.
