Ricky and Brandon have seen thousands of movies! But still have somehow missed THE most iconic and influential films.

SPEAKER_00

Hello, hello, and welcome to another episode of a mostly film podcast. We are the procrastinators of premieres, the missers of movies, the leaders of late. I am Brandon, and with me as always is Ricky. Ricky, how are you today?

SPEAKER_01

Well, um, you know, it's uh it's been kinda rough lately. Um I'm uh I'm pretty ashamed to uh be honest.

SPEAKER_00

Ricky, this is a safe space. So please tell us what you're feeling.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, um you know it's I guess I'm lucky to have this platform. Um you know, this isn't an easy thing to uh talk about, but um you know, on our uh best of the year episode that we did a couple years ago, you know well a couple w weeks ago, I I apologize, gosh. Um it uh it feels like years, you know, with the just uh the controversy. Um you know, this isn't uh please, please. But you know, my number one film of the year so far is Project Hail Mary. And um well um take your time, take your time. You know, I uh I said that uh, you know, it's my favorite movie, and I said uh that um it was directed by the Russo brothers, and um, oh my gosh, like you know, I could say I've made worse mistakes in my life, but I probably haven't. Um so I said it was directed by the Russo brothers, but it was pointed out to me that it was actually directed by uh Phil Lord and Chris Miller.

SPEAKER_00

Um and if I'm not mistaken, they are not brothers at all, nor Russos.

SPEAKER_01

No, no r relation. Um and you know, it's just the the rumors started swirling and everything, and I just like wanted to like clear the air. Um I mean I mean I guess the biggest thing is like I did not have sexual relations with the Russo brothers. Yep, got it. Um and uh I wasn't uh paid by them, you know, or anything. Of course. And um yeah, it's just been a lot. Um so I just wanted to apologize, you know, to all the Phil Lorden, Chris Miller fans out there. Um the uh Cloudy with a chance of meatball stands, uh Clone High fans. Oh gosh, I didn't even think about that. Um you know, so I guess all I can say is, you know, I'll uh try to get better.

SPEAKER_00

Um be better, Ricky.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, and um I guess uh in the words of Adolf Hitler, um Well well y you know, na like Hold on No, no, you know, it's it isn't necessary. Like like you all understand. You you all get where where where I'm coming from already. Um so I don't need to say any more. But um yeah, I just I'm very sorry, and um hopefully uh we can just move on. I understand that it might just be time.

SPEAKER_00

We need to we need to heal.

SPEAKER_01

But uh yeah, you know, so to everyone, um I deeply apologize. And uh yeah, the asham I feel is uh very great.

SPEAKER_00

So that it's a very good apology, Ricky. I hope this puts an end to all the rampant vandalism that you've been experiencing on your house and car, people spray painting, not the Russos all over your windshield.

SPEAKER_01

And honestly, I mean I just want to say the Russos are a bunch of fucking hacks, you know. It's like, you know, just to um, you know, get the like, you know, it's like even putting like Phil Lord and Chris Miller in the same like sentence is just like what the hell was wrong with me? And I wasn't on drugs, like you know, I know that that's a big rumor out there too.

SPEAKER_00

So I hope next week you have to apologize to the Russo fans.

SPEAKER_01

Oh man.

SPEAKER_00

Like there are any. Oh damn. Yeah. Listen, guys, you listen to this podcast, you know controversy is gonna follow us. You know, we we'll we'll say things for sure.

SPEAKER_01

You know the biggest thing about us is that we wanna avoid that as much as possible, and our biggest thing is we want to be respected in the industry. And uh our our takes are, you know, the best takes out there. So I know this, like, you know, we're we're we're taking a hit here, but and you know, I just want to say this is all on me. Like, you know, Brandon had nothing to do with this.

SPEAKER_00

I I wasn't aware, I haven't seen the movie. Um so you know.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, for all he knows, the Russos could have directed it, you know. I I trusted Ricky.

SPEAKER_00

So I mean if you think about it, I'm a victim too. Yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, so I guess I I apologize to you too. Yeah, I guess.

SPEAKER_00

Thank you. I appreciate it. Yeah. And and to show everyone how how much we love the movies, today's episode is all about movies we probably should have seen by now.

SPEAKER_01

All the the movies that everyone hates us for not seeing. Yes.

SPEAKER_00

That is today's topic is all the movies that people have gotten mad at us in our lives. And I'm sure you all listening out there have had this too, where you said, Oh, I haven't seen Toy Story or whatever. And then someone goes, You haven't seen Toy Story? What?

SPEAKER_01

So funny because I've seen over 3,000 films. Yeah. But it's like, if like I say it's like, dude, you haven't seen this? Like I'm sorry. Like, it's gonna happen.

SPEAKER_00

I love that. Well, I guess that that's at least my first question, then, Ricky, is what makes you think you've what why do you think you've missed some of these cultural touchstone films? What do you think it is? Just not interest or just it in and out of theaters and never got around to it?

SPEAKER_01

Uh yeah. Um some of them are kind of weird. It's like that I haven't seen. It's like, I don't know. It's just um, you know, I've ended up focusing on something else, and then it's like years go by and I'm like, oh, I still haven't seen that. And like some of them I've like started and just like not committed to, not been in the mood for, and yeah.

SPEAKER_00

Uh I I'll start with some big ones then that I didn't see for the longest time. Now, some I finally have caught up on actually quite recently, but growing up, the biggest thing that I would run into was I'd never saw like Star Wars, Lord of the Rings, or Harry Potter, or even Indiana Jones. I didn't see any of those franchises. Uh, some I still haven't seen. We'll get to that later. Uh I've only seen the first Indiana Jones, and it was a double feature where my friend Zach and I watched Indiana Jones and Boss Baby at the same night. Which is the best double feature of all time.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, I mean, what else are you gonna watch? Yeah. Come on.

SPEAKER_00

The second Indiana Jones? No, no, no. You follow up the first one with Boss Baby. Everyone knows this. That that was probably one of the biggest ones. Star Wars was, of course, another huge one that I never saw growing up, but my favorite uh kind of claim to fame is that I have once won a Star Wars trivia contest before I saw a single Star Wars film.

SPEAKER_01

That is another thing like that I always think about. It's like a lot of these sims on my list, like I can tell you a lot about them. Yeah. But like it's like, nope, still haven't seen them. Like like they're like so popular.

SPEAKER_00

Oh, yeah. I mean, for Star Wars, those got parodied by every single TV show I watched as a kid. Like, fairly odd parents had a Star Wars parody. If I watched uh, you know, Simpsons or Family Guy, they would make a Star Wars parody here or there. Like it was just so ubiquitous that they would be everywhere, and so I just kind of knew about it, but I never actually watched the movies. Uh Star Wars, I even knew a bit more about the lore because I would play like video games of Star Wars. So that kind of maybe helped cheat a little bit, but it's still not the movie. But I, you know, I could go, oh, that's Tatooine, that's Coruscant, you know, there's Best Ben, that's Cloud City and Best Ben. Like, so I knew all of this lore, but I never actually saw Luke Skywalker's being like, I was gonna go to the Tashi station for power converters. Like, I hadn't didn't know that until I watched it. What what's one of your favorite movies? Uh I guess I should ask what is probably the biggest movie you haven't seen still.

SPEAKER_01

Well, first I wanna say, like like I'm you one one that I like hadn't caught up on for a long time. Like the biggest one that always came to mind was like Braveheart.

SPEAKER_00

That's right, you did just watch Braveheart recently.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, like saw like a couple years ago, I think.

SPEAKER_00

What'd you think of it?

SPEAKER_01

It was fine. Like it yeah, I think it's like a six out of ten, maybe four for me.

SPEAKER_00

Were you did you watch it just because you were thinking, oh man, I this is like one of the few best picture winners I just haven't gotten to yet?

SPEAKER_01

That and you know, just the the popularity, because like, you know, growing up everyone like that and like Gladiator were like big films that everyone was like a big fan of, and I'm like, Oh yeah, I haven't seen Gladiator yet. Yeah, no.

SPEAKER_00

I still haven't seen it. I I think they try to show Gladiator in one of my history classes, and either I didn't get like a permission slip signed, or or maybe I fell asleep, I don't know, like I was just like a tired high schooler or whatever, but I I still haven't seen Gladiator.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, I distinctly re remember being in high school. It was either my freshman or sophomore year, and like we we were in class just like talking and like like bringing up movies, and like everyone was talking about how Gladiator was like their favorite, and I'm like, I haven't seen it. They're like, You haven't seen this? Like, what the hell? Like But uh yeah, like um yeah, Braveheart was one of the few that uh helped, I think, was uh one of the few like best picture winners I hadn't seen.

SPEAKER_00

Right, it kind of gave you more reason to be like, okay, fine, I'll watch this.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. Yeah, and it's it's fine. I mean, I don't I don't get why everyone like loved it so much, really. Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

I remember liking it. I I can't tell you a whole lot about it except that I do remember he yells freedom a lot, uh, that he sh uh they all show their butts to the other army at one point.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. I don't know like how historically accurate like it is, because I do think it's like based on like historical like Scottish um figure and stuff. Yeah. Um but like biggest like I haven't seen still um I have a bunch here, but um I guess one I'll throw out is Carrie. Really? Yep.

SPEAKER_00

Wow, okay.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

No, that that's that got a big reaction out of me. I like Carrie a lot.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, like still have never seen it. I haven't seen the uh remake either. Never seen any of them. It's like I know about them, like you know, the whole her get her getting the blood thrown on her and everything. Um and I think there's a TV series uh coming out soon. Um think so. Based on Carrie. Yeah, that that one's a really big one.

SPEAKER_00

I think you would like it. It's you know, it it's the fun. Is that a feel-good story?

SPEAKER_02

You'll love bullies.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, that's the thing. It's like if you love seeing bullies get set on fire and killed at the end, that's kind of Yay! Hooray. It is good. It some of the uh special effects are a little hokey now. Oh really? I I I'm trying to remember if there was like a hose that's like starts spraying people, and it really just looks like it pops into frame like a snake and it's just like it's like clearly someone's like kind of puppeteering it with like a almost like a marionette.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, and it's one of those that is like, I know it's a very i iconic horror film.

SPEAKER_00

Um I mean Adam Sandler quotes it and the they're all gonna laugh at you. Like that's uh from that's basically uh Carrie. Yeah, that that's his uh uh from his album, They're all gonna laugh at you. Oh, okay.

SPEAKER_02

And it's him being his mom going, they're all gonna laugh at you! Oh, they're all gonna laugh at you.

SPEAKER_01

That was a little more Don Knotts than it was Adam Sandler, but Don Knotts is not in that film, zero stars.

SPEAKER_00

Not interested. No, I mean that that's a big one, um, for sure. You know what what I realized when I was looking through kind of you know most iconic movies of all time, I have a really big gap of the 80s. Like the 80s, I missed a lot of those movies, and a few of them I caught up on recently, like um Good Fellas and Standby Me, and even Back to the Future I watched for the first time a couple years ago.

SPEAKER_01

So Goodfellas was 90.

SPEAKER_00

Was he was it 90? Oh, okay, thank you. Yeah, you're guys, I need to make a mistake. I need to make an apology.

SPEAKER_01

Uh Brandon, the floor is your dude.

SPEAKER_00

Guys, I can't tell time. And by making fun of me, you're kind of being ableist.

SPEAKER_02

It's a real So screw all y'all. I bart.

SPEAKER_00

God um You you ready for a big 80s movie I haven't seen? Did did you mention the Oh, you that you still haven't seen? That I still haven't seen.

SPEAKER_01

There are two big ones for for for me. I think the biggest one that you had for a while was Back to the Future. Yeah, that you would.

SPEAKER_00

Which I finally have seen and I I loved quite a bit. There's only like one thing in that movie that I think is like, oh that's kind of a weird moment, but like other than that, I think it's a pretty damn impressive film. Like I I would probably give it a 10 at like at worst a nine. You know? Yeah. It's still very funny, it's really creative and cool. The one thing I really didn't like about that movie was they kind of do this the ending twice, which is like after um, you know, a after the dad beats up Biff. It's like, cool, he did the thing to get his girl back, yay. But then they go into the dance, and then he has to like hit another guy who takes his girl. And I'm like, well, you don't really need that. That seems weird. Like you you you just had your arc, I don't know why you had to do it again. But so I thought that was a little strange. But I mean, that's such a mild nitpick from how great that whole movie truly is. The probably the most shocking 80s movie I haven't seen, I have not seen a single Terminator film.

SPEAKER_01

Really?

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. And again, it's another franchise that's iconic to where I get the references. Hell, I I think I referenced Terminator during our uh kids episode because Max Keeble's big move, I think, made a parody of it. No, uh, Wayne's World, sorry. Wainsworld did a parody of Terminator with the cop. And Chase and then, like, are you looking for like I'm looking for this person? Have you seen him? So like I knew the reference, but I've still never actually seen a Terminator film.

SPEAKER_01

Um it's funny, I was actually watching uh Terminator 2 the other day. I just turned it on. Um I think I've seen the first one like once, maybe twice. I always just go to Judgment Day.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, that's everyone says that's like the best one, yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. Um I mean I they're they're iconic, but like I don't really blame you. Like I guess I'm more more shocked at at Judgment Day, because like that one just because that one was in the early nineties, that one was like more Cause there was like I think the the the original was like 84 or 85 and then Judgment Day was like Was it 1990? It was like 91, I think, maybe, but but like that was a pretty big gap there. Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

You would not see that now with sequels, it's always like the next year or two years later.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, unless you're like Pixar trying to make all that money where like it's like 20, 30 years later, like let's do another f uh, you know, m Monsters Inc. uh, you know, um and all this, but yeah, I um Terminator 1 is very interesting. There's not a lot that I r remember really about it, except I know that that like Arnold's the the bad guy. Um and um like it's like the the later ones kind of like copy from the uh first one where like they like kind of like restart it. Um except Arnold's like like a good guy. Um he's like a good guy in all of them pretty much except for the the first. I think they were like, yeah, this doesn't really work as well. I think it's more more fun having him as like a good guy, I guess.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, I I mean I know a lot of people who love T2. Yeah, that that's it. I think that's the one that people really, really hang on to. Do you think because when I was looking at through all of my movies, most of the most iconic ones are the the you haven't seen this, they kind of cut off around like 2002, 2003, somewhere around there. Do you think that there's any movies now that are currently out, or maybe that came out in the past five, ten years, that are gonna be a you haven't seen Barbie, or you know what I mean? Or do you think we we need more time?

SPEAKER_01

Like like for us, or like just in general?

SPEAKER_00

I guess just in general, because I I don't know, I can't picture someone saying, like, you haven't seen Wicked yet, or you haven't seen Oppenheimer? I'm just trying to think of like the biggest movies that sure.

SPEAKER_01

Like, especially like probably like like the um like kids growing up. Yeah, if you like missed one of the 500 like Avengers films, um like like the Marvel films, it's like oh you know, you you can't be our friend because like you haven't seen you haven't seen Wakanda forever? Yeah, yeah, it's like I'm I'm sure those. Um Barbie could Barbie could be, I guess. I don't know how like popular that would like be. Like Oppenheimer's probably like like a weird one, like kids like, you know, like uh yeah.

SPEAKER_00

You know, comparative to something like a Hitchcock film, oh you haven't seen Vertigo, you haven't seen the birds, you know. Like I could see some movie buffs saying stuff like that. But I just don't know if there's anything super I mean Parasite. Parasite's pretty great. You haven't seen Parasite, go see Parasite. But I you know, I maybe just more time needs to pass. Maybe once we get to like the 2040s, then we'll have that reflective nature of to say, like, oh man, I can't believe you never saw this big movie from the 2015s or whatever.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, that is a good point too, like thinking of from like a film buff like aspect. I can't really like off the top of my head. Um like there there's a co-worker um of mine who's like, you know, he's gotten like huge in a like film, which is like really cool to like see. We've like me and another coworker, um, and this podcast has kind of gotten him like becoming a Cinephile. So so it's like he's like just going like he he's going crazy with it and and it's really awesome to like see like he's getting in the into the Criterion collection and everything. But it's like there are like tons of like films he's never seen, so he's like, you know. I'm just trying to get into it.

SPEAKER_00

Like one that uh c comes to mind for for me, I guess, is Mad Max Fury Road, because that was such a huge You know, I can kind of give that to you that I mean I'm not crazy about that movie as we've spoken before, but I can definitely see someone going, you what, you never saw Fury Road? Oh, it's so cool that it goes boom bum boom boom boom oh for three hours. It's fantastic. Nothing else like it. It's so good. That's your review of that film.

SPEAKER_01

I'm a dick. Um, and you know, speaking of your your favorite film, um your favorite director, Chris Renolan. I'm sure there are like, you know, tons of those.

SPEAKER_00

I yeah, I can see a lot of people saying Inception's probably the biggest one of his. Um Interstellar. Oh god, I don't know.

SPEAKER_01

Dude, like like Interstellar's, like, I'm always seeing it, and I'm like, it's fine. Like, like, I mean, I I I like it, but it's like I think that's super overrated. Like, like everyone's like, greatest film ever, like 2001 Kids Socket, like all these things. Like, uh Yeah, but I maybe it is just one of those things where like we're still like in the moment, I guess. Um time needs to pass. One thing my uh co-worker and I were were recently talking about is like I think someone said like Obsession was like the best horror film like within a decade, which I was like thinking of like the uh 2020s, but um they were like saying but they like meant it as like the the past like ten years, and I was like going back and I was like it might be like I don't know like like like Yeah, if you go to like the past ten years if we go from 2026 to 2016 uh hereditary was 2015? Yeah, so so I was like you would you would definitely say hereditary. I I think a lot of people would say get out.

SPEAKER_00

Um people love midsummer.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, so I mean it's like there are others, but but like for for for me it's like yeah, that one maybe.

SPEAKER_00

Um Yeah, I I think you're kind of right that maybe if we wait a few more years, I bet people will say, What you never saw Obsession? Oh my god, how did you not see that?

SPEAKER_01

Like you still haven't seen Get Out.

SPEAKER_00

Um Get Out is very good.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, it's I I think it is like the uh generations and everything in the age groups, they'll always like come up with uh different things, and it's like the whole thing is we just need to hang around with more children to uh figure out, you know what? No, no, no, please. You haven't seen Cannibal Holocaust? Please, like like I'm hanging out at this elementary school for research. Like, come on.

SPEAKER_00

Get your heads off me, gutter. Oh god damn it. I forgot what I was gonna say now. That really threw me off. Oh my lord. Oh, Jesus Christ. Yeah, it it it does make you wonder, you know, what everyone's top movie is. So, like one of the movies I saw uh recently, maybe about a year ago, actually not even a year ago, maybe just a couple months ago, uh, from 1986, I finally saw Standby Me. And that was a big one that people that were, you know, adults that were probably born in the 60s have come up, or 60s or 70s had would come up to me and say, like, Oh, you love movies, what did you think of Standby Me? And I go, I never saw it. And that was that was a big one that people went, What? You it's you never saw Standby Me? And then I said, you know, I said, it came up before I was born. So it's old and dumb and stupid, so I never saw it. And then eventually I, you know, finally threw it on, and I would argue it's probably the best coming of age story I've ever seen. It's it's up there, it's really good. I love that movie.

SPEAKER_01

One thing I was just thinking about, um I think because like when when we were growing up up until like, you know, within like the past like 15 years, I mean, we didn't really have streaming.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. Oh, you're gonna date us a bit, aren't you?

SPEAKER_01

Back in the s so I think we like kind of can get a pass. Mm-hmm. Um, 'cause like, well, even like I was telling my my coworker who's getting into film, it's like when I first started with the Cr Criterion collection, it was like because he's like, Well, you know, I I could like stream this and everything, and I'm like, Yeah, I mean you you know, if you can stream it, don't feel like you have to like buy it like run around. But it's like when I got into it, like if I wanted to see a lot of these films, I had to buy it. Like I couldn't, you know, find it for like streaming and stuff. So I feel like that is helping probably people like um discover and Yeah, and like not miss out on a lot of these films. Um but like yeah, I mean, 'cause like if it was like be before we were born, it's like um like our parents would have to like have it, you know, on like VHS or like Yeah. Yeah, 'cause like I started getting, you know, DVDs probably when I was like twelve or or something, but still it was like I didn't really know about a lot of films then. Or I mean you would catch it on TV and like a lot of people probably don't have cable much at anymore either, so Yeah, I mean not as much.

SPEAKER_00

It's why why spend that much money for entertainment and also you might not even see what you want to see. Where streaming you can literally say, I want to watch you know, Jurassic Park right now, and then you could just go to whatever place might have it and watch it.

SPEAKER_01

You know, the only downside so m well well, I mean, maybe just a downside that I was thinking of, maybe like you won't like catch things on accident like we would do.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. The amount of times I've seen 13 going on 30, I probably never would have looked up that movie by myself. Just because I probably would have been like a you know a shitty teenager going chick flick blh, and then I caught it all the time on FX. It was always on when I got home from school for some reason. I've seen that movie a hundred times. I kind of love it.

SPEAKER_01

It's like it's funny, like, yeah, those that that we like still enjoy, like that we would never like go out of our way to see.

SPEAKER_00

No, I you know, I never thought that's a really good point, though. Like, I'm sure there's been a lot of movies that I never would have watched unless it was just on TV, and I just kind of threw in the TV and went, What is this? My dad has told me that that's still kind of how he watches movies where he'll just put the TV on, he'll kind of walk in and out of the room, and if something catches his eye, he'll just sit down and watch the rest of the movie, and then if he likes it, he's like, I'll I'm gonna see when it's on again, because he doesn't know how to use streaming. So he's like, I'll just wait till I find it again and watch it again, and he gets obsessed with a movie. It that is actually kind of a weird benefit, is just accidentally stumbling upon something great as opposed to I'll just pick a movie on Netflix or Hulu and maybe it's good, I don't know, maybe I won't like it, you know.

SPEAKER_01

Remind me, was Stand by Me? Is that Stephen King?

SPEAKER_00

It is.

SPEAKER_01

I wonder if um Well, I mean, with you, it's like you had a lot of franchises that, you know, you you never got around to.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Where like I wonder if like that helps, like now it's like since like it's like more like it isn't just a one-off, it's like, oh, this is like a big franchise. Like I feel like there are very few people like like I know people who like haven't read the Harry Potter books, like a lot of people haven't, but they've seen all the movies. Um and like, you know, a big name like Stephen King, it's like maybe that helps, like oh, you know, I've caught up on this Stephen King movie, and it's like I like this one, I'll try and like find some others or something. Um Yeah, I I don't know, it's a very interesting thought, but I would guess it's not as common as it was when when we were younger because of streaming.

unknown

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

It's a lot easier. I I'm kinda curious, now that you mention the whole watching things live as it happens, if it almost feels more important to watch if it's happening live. And the reason I say that is because I have DVDs, I have Blu-rays, I haven't watched a DVD or a Blu-ray in a very long time. There's movies that I want to watch that are on streaming that I go, oh cool, this is on here, and then I think, well, I can watch it whenever I want, and then I don't watch it. I'm the same. It's it's it's humans are so stupid. We literally have all the entertainment in the world, and we just will go find reasons not to entertain ourselves.

SPEAKER_01

I think about it, it's like, oh man, this 10 seconds that it's gonna take for me to pop this Blu-ray in here. Like, do I really want to do that? I ain't got time for this crap. And then it's like I'll like watch it on the computer. It's like, man, this would be so much better if I watched it on Blu-ray.

SPEAKER_00

Like, but you know, it's like oh god, am I really gonna get out of bed?

SPEAKER_01

I always say we're like so close to the humans from Wally that are just like in the they're just so overweight in the chairs and everyone just fall out of the chairs. Yeah, that's that's a real uh but the robots come and help them, so what do you need?

SPEAKER_00

Come on, chill out, everyone. AI's gonna save us all.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. You've heard it here first, folks.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. That that is really funny. I I think you just accidentally made me nostalgic for live TV.

SPEAKER_01

Like Yeah, I mean the like I I definitely have like great uh memories, especially like the uh Disney Channel movies. It's like you would like see the previews, and it's like this is coming up, and it's like, oh my gosh, like I'm so excited to watch this. Xenon, what is this? Oh man, this crazy.

SPEAKER_00

Like That is true. I that is very fun, like being a kid or even like a young teenager and getting those. I feel like people, if anyone's under the age of like 25, they're like, are they talking about smoke signals? What fucking technology are they talking about?

SPEAKER_01

Grow up, oldies.

SPEAKER_00

Just pull it up on your phone, you idiot. Yeah, like uh Yeah, I no, I I think you're right that there is a kind of fun, fun quality to you know, being on TV watching something, and it says, you know, Brink is up next, and you go, whoa, this looks wild. I think, yeah, I I'll keep watching, why not? Maybe that's the same reason I kind of love going to the movies still, is because you do get trailers and it is a nice like, oh, this looks fun. It really does interest me more than just if I got like a YouTube advertisement saying like watch the Odyssey or whatever. I go, and then please stop interrupting my video about whatever nerdy thing about to watch. But in front of an actual movie, I'm like, this is cool.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, and I I I think that is another thing. It's like you don't have to see the trailers because they're online. Like it's like you know, it's I yeah.

SPEAKER_00

It's pretty rare for me to look up a trailer a lot of times, too. Like, unless I I'm specifically looking for a singular one recently, werewolf, as we talked about last week. That that trailer dropped and it looked fantastic. Coming out on Christmas Day, everyone. Happy holidays, enjoy fucking the most horrifying werewolf movie I think I've ever seen. Um but yeah, I I it is funny, I I don't really go out of my way to just look up trailers either. Besides a specific one, I don't necessarily type in new movie trailer and try to find it that way.

SPEAKER_01

There used to be um when I was in high school, there used to be like because I would there was a show on Entertainment Weekly, which or Ener what was the um the E channel, I guess. Yeah, just like it was like Yeah, but it was like a um they would show trailers for upcoming movies and I would like get so excited because like this is just what what this show was. It's just like showing trailers and like I'd like s uh I was looking forward to like the the Sin City trailer because I like kinda knew about it and it was like that was like I always distinctly remember being super excited for like that. Um and now it's like sometimes I get pissed off because it's like this trailer showed me everything, like what the hell? Like why are you spoiling this whole thing? Like Yeah, it's interesting just how you uh change and evolve like like not only as a human but as like you know, just like a moviegoer, like like and how your tastes will change and everything.

SPEAKER_00

Well, kind of going back to our main topic of things that we've missed, how I I should ask, roughly how many movies do you think you see a year that maybe have come out that year, not just in general, like throwing on an old 90s film or something.

SPEAKER_01

Um because like you and I kinda like try and like track our like lists uh every year. I think last year I saw around like 60. Yeah. Like 50 or or 60 is probably like the uh standard, and then it's like once the new year rolls around, I'll like you know, start catching up on more that that like weren't as available and stuff. But yeah, I um probably around like fifty or sixty.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, I I would say I probably see at least a minimum of forty. Uh just unlocked a memory. I remember walking back in my childhood mall, you know, 15 years ago, and this guy stopped me and my brother and his girlfriend and said, Hey, do you guys have question uh time for a quick question about movies? And said, Yeah, sure. He goes, Okay, so like on average, how many times how many movies do you see a year? And I kind of stopped and went, yeah, maybe like 40 to 50. And he his eyes widened, he went, No, like I what what what? No, just like new movies. Like how many new movies do you see? And I went, no, yeah, probably like 40 or 50. And like he thought I was fucking with him. He genuinely got like kind of He's like, alright, you're destroying my point here. Yeah, like he he clearly had an agenda for I don't know what, but he clearly wanted the answer to be like, I see three movies so he can go to his you know stats class and be like, no one sees movies anymore. And then he runs into me who just alright kid, get the fuck out of here. I'm just over there just screwing up his averages. Hello, I'm Mr.

SPEAKER_02

Outlier I hope he's dead.

SPEAKER_00

And I'm not even gonna attend his funeral. I'm gonna be watching a movie. Yeah, alright. Sorry, can't make it. I'm busy. Gotta catch up on these Terminator films. Yeah. Uh I guess I should say the Oh go ahead.

SPEAKER_01

No, no, no, you you go ahead.

SPEAKER_00

I guess I'll say the obvi, the biggest movie I haven't seen, I still have not seen Citizen Kane. Never got around to it. One day I will. I'm I'm sure I will see it. Do you know what's actually holding me off from seeing it? Is that every nearly everyone I know who has seen it, they're kind of just like, no, it's it's good. They it's they appreciate it more than they like it. And so I think that's kind of making me not as excited to go into it because I really don't talk to too many people who go, Oh, it it truly is fantastic, it's gonna blow your mind. It it is just loved and admired because it did influence film and did all these creative techniques, which is to be very respected and admirable, but at the same time, you know, if it's not a fun or enjoyable film to a lot of people, d d is it still worth me to like throw away my time to go see I shouldn't say throw away my time, but you know what I mean?

SPEAKER_01

It's one of those that, you know, especially if you know you you consider your yourself a cenophile of film buff, you have to like see it. Yeah. Um, I know I first saw it in uh film studies class in um in high school. And I think that kind of helped because it was like he was like our uh teacher w was like telling us like why. Like it's so like respected and everything, and I still like think about that. It's like, yeah, that is like really cool, just what they were doing with the camera and everything. Um but yeah, it's like I I like it. It it's just I always bring up, you know, it's not as in entertaining for for me as Casablanca is. Like that is like timeless. Like I I can always like go back to that, like one of the greatest scripts and everything. Oh yeah. Like like some sometimes I just get kind of bored, like like with Citizen Kane. It's like um, which I mean, you know. Let let the uh the hate male um.

SPEAKER_00

But no, I that that's every film buff I've spoken to has the exact same opinion where it almost feels like they don't want to say it's a bad movie or that they dislike it, but they always kind of dance around and go like it's you know, it did a lot of good things for cinema. Which is almost you know what I mean? It sounds like someone trying to avoid being shitty.

SPEAKER_01

But I think because I mean you have to r respect it. Yeah. Like for for what it did, and people who like say it's the greatest, like I won't argue with you. It's like I don't put it in my top ten just because like I don't have the love for it as much as, you know, I love films like you know, Apocalypse Now or like Eight and a Half, you know, I think things like like that.

SPEAKER_00

I can't remember if we've spoken about this but uh on the podcast, but I think that we've said before to each other that we typically try to have like the ten greatest movies and our ten favorite movies. Like we try to separate.

SPEAKER_01

I like do that because I like to cheat and like to get helps get 20 movies on there. Yeah, yeah. Um but I mean cause like I'm always talking to you about like like like like my greatest of all time, and it's like you like I can't do it without putting my own personal like love in there. But it's like I can like defend them on like that uh greatest film, you know, love, but it's like if I just flat out, you know, like said like greatest, like without like a personal thing, yeah, I'd probably put Citizen Kane in there just because of its impact. Um and it's like I always feel kind of bad because like I don't always like like have a silent film in there, but it's like the impact of like silent films, like you know, it's like how do you not represent that? And it's like right right now, like my my oldest film and my ten greatest is like Vertigo, and that was 58, and it's like oh, there wasn't a great film be before 1958. Really not a single one, like, you know, and it's so I mean yeah, it's it's tough.

SPEAKER_00

Um I yeah, I think we could honestly talk for hours specifically about the uh the idea of what counts as a best movie because of in d is a movie good because it influenced things or because it did something creative?

SPEAKER_01

I think I mean we we could do like a whole episode probably at some point about that.

SPEAKER_00

I think I said this to you before one time, which was like the idea of someone putting parsley on dog poop and be like, well, no one's ever done that before. This person's the first person to put parsley on dog poop. It's like, well, I'm glad that they influence parsley, but like I still don't really want to consume this. Yeah. But no, they're the first person to put parsley on things. So it's it's automatically the best v meal that's ever been made. It's like, uh, well. Huh.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, it's like I think you'll you'll respect Citizen Kane. I wouldn't be shocked if you're like, yeah, I mean, like like me, it's like I don't have to keep like going back to it.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

You know.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. Yeah, that that's uh that's one I I will watch eventually, just because I do have a lot of movie buff friends who will say, mm Boy, you've seen all these movies. Same, same to you. You said you've seen like 3,000 films or so, and and I'm I'm pretty high up there and still haven't seen Citizen Kane. Whoopsies. But I have seen the emoji movie three times.

SPEAKER_01

Oh god. I keep saying I need to watch that again. I don't know, like I might hate that more than Showgirls. Oh, 100%.

SPEAKER_00

Well, Showgirls is awesome, first off. You need to stop disrespecting Showgirls. No no no no.

SPEAKER_01

No no.

SPEAKER_00

It's so good.

SPEAKER_01

Stay tuned for our worst films of all time. Episode. Oh, we do need to do that. Will happen at some point. Um, alright, I have one for you from uh probably when we were around high school. Um I have a feeling you've seen it. I have a guess. Way in Brothers film.

SPEAKER_00

Is it white chicks?

SPEAKER_01

It is.

SPEAKER_02

Still never seen it. And like that was who was like, you haven't seen white chicks? Who's stopping you with that?

SPEAKER_01

Like, because it was so popular like when I was in high school. Like, like, I mean, and it's like a lot of people loved it, and like I I know like tons of people who like saw it. I kind of like it a little bit. Yeah, yeah. I mean, it's I think it's very fun. You know, it's like, and I just feel like, oh, sorry.

SPEAKER_00

Uh Citizen Kane and White Chicks, the two films. Yep. No, I mean, I alright, I guess I can kind of see that. That was a weirdly big movie when it came out. I only really remember a few things. One is that Terry Cruz, I believe, is in love with one of the white chicks. Uh, so there's a lot of like, uh oh, this man doesn't realize he's in love with a man kind of comedy. Uh and then I do remember there was a there was a yo mama battle. At one point, the white chicks uh say, Yo mama's so old that when she breastfeed it looks like this, and then they just like blow dust out of their hand. Like I remember that stuck with me because I thought that was very funny.

SPEAKER_01

And like it seems like people are like, you know, like really wanting a sequel because like they've been like talking about a sequel and like they like kind of like make a reference to it. Well, they like bring up white chicks in Scary Movie Six. But um, yeah, like I I don't know, like it's one of those where just never had like a huge desire to see it. It's like interesting. Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

Maybe maybe you were born wrong.

SPEAKER_01

Maybe Yeah. It's it's possible, and I mean I do love white white chicks, so I mean it's like, you know, like it's it's right there, you know, like I would probably enjoy this. Uh this movie's made for me. These aren't actual white chicks. Oh my god. Um yeah, so I'm sure I'll get around to it here, even choice.

SPEAKER_00

I hope I hope the same people that harass you for getting the director wrong of the Russo Brothers and uh um Miller and Lord, I hope they're the same people that are like, you're not seeing White Chicks, man, come on, you gotta see it. I do think one of my coworkers did like kind of give me a I give that person permission to just continuously harass you until you go see white chicks.

SPEAKER_01

Oh god. Why would you do this to me?

SPEAKER_00

Um I'll give you one that I saw this past Christmas that was a Christmas movie people really were always surprised that I hadn't seen.

SPEAKER_01

Was it Die Hard?

SPEAKER_00

Ricky, you ready for this? I haven't seen Die Hard still. Oh yeah. I didn't even write that down. I'm glad you said that. I still have not seen Die Hard.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, that's- I really hope you like get into like a battle like beat like over like is it a Christmas movie and like all these people are like complaining, and then it's like you have the uh two sides and you're like into it, and then finally you're like Yeah, I haven't even seen it. So like everyone's like Kill them!

SPEAKER_00

It's another movie I know a fair amount about because again, parodied a bunch, quite iconic. Um the this is how badly I need to see Die Hard. I have lied to people that I have seen it just so I wouldn't have to deal with them yelling at me. That is true. That is a true fact. Where someone's like, I love diehard. I'm like, yeah, me too.

SPEAKER_01

Like I just But I mean you you can probably like name enough where like it's like the questions don't like come up.

SPEAKER_00

I I can just go like Mr. McLean. Like I can just like John McLean and then you Harry Potter.

SPEAKER_01

I mean Mr. McLean.

SPEAKER_00

Probably just don't shoot me with your magic wand, John McLean. Wait, what are you talking about? Nah, no, it's yeah, that that movie I I fake know so well because I just don't want I'm tired of people going like you gotta see it. I really should see it. Maybe it's a point of pride now that I I'm just not seeing it.

SPEAKER_01

Um this Christmas, you'll have to.

SPEAKER_00

The the Christmas film I reason I was referring to was Love Actually. That was a big one that people, yeah. People really seemed to love that movie and they one of my favorite movies. Is it really? Oh my wife despised it and it was the funniest thing.

SPEAKER_01

I I But you you like you made me feel a little better because like you were like telling me that. Um, but her her her dad enjoys it a lot. Yeah, that's the reason we watched it. So I'm like, alright, cool.

SPEAKER_00

Because that was the reason we watched it. He's one of the many people that said, like, it's one of the best, sweetest movies you'll ever see. We have to watch it. And we watched it with you know other in-laws, and I could just feel the heat of anger radiating off my wife during the entire movie. And I thought it was fine. I didn't think it was good, uh, to be honest. I I think I give it a four. I don't think it's that I don't know why people love it as much as they do, but people love it. And they're wrong. It's it's the Christopher Nolan of Christmas films.

SPEAKER_01

It's the Mad Max Fury Road Christopher of Christmas films.

SPEAKER_00

This is why I love this podcast because I'm sure there's someone who's listening going, Wow, we know what not to watch and what to watch because we hate Brandon's opinion so much.

SPEAKER_01

Or it's like he's the only one who knows anything. Ricky should shut the hell up about everything.

SPEAKER_00

I'm sure I have some fans, but I'm sure I also have the exact opposite. If I'm like, Stand by me's pretty good, everyone who hasn't seen Standby Me is gonna go, that movie must suck if he likes it.

SPEAKER_01

But I mean, that that is why I always say it's like you know, like enjoy what what you enjoy. It's like I just don't r respect people who are like, you know, oh, this film sucks because it's black and white. It's like this film sucks because it's foreign and I have to like read it. It's like no, like, you know, that's not that's not how it works. Just because you're lazy and dumb and stupid and probably ugly.

SPEAKER_00

I'm ugly and I'm proud. One of my favorite things from Love actually, when we watched it, there's a uh a vignette, one of the character storylines is that he wants to go to America to have sex with American women, just because he hears that, oh, if you have a British accent, they're all gonna want to sleep with you. And so he goes to Wisconsin of all the states to meet women.

SPEAKER_01

Oh, I totally forgot about that.

SPEAKER_00

And the women all have the deepest Texas, Texan accents, and all I could think was like, dude, is this what British people think we all sound like? Because this is a little xenophobic. This bit is I don't seriously mean that, but uh, it did make me laugh because it was just like, yeah, y'all, welcome to Wisconsin. I'm like, no one in Wisconsin talks like this. Not a single soul.

SPEAKER_01

Come on down to the rodeo.

SPEAKER_00

Don't forget y'all's 10-gallon hats. We sure love going to Milwaukee. It just made me laugh. Like, it would be the same thing, like, if we if you and I made a movie about like Scotland or something, and we're just like, oh yes, fishing chips. Scotland. Scottish people go, this is not even close. What are you doing?

SPEAKER_01

Scotland would go to war with us.

SPEAKER_00

They're gonna go to war with you because you already said you hate Braveheart.

SPEAKER_01

Oh, yeah, true.

SPEAKER_00

Man, Scotland's really taking a beating this episode.

SPEAKER_01

Man, as if we need any more reason for them.

SPEAKER_00

Um I will say uh the next one I want to talk about real fast is I finally, finally have watched the first two Lord of the Rings films just this year. That was a big one, obviously, 2001, 2002, 2003. Those came out and were huge. That that was just a massive movie. Even people that I knew that weren't into fantasy saw Lord of the Rings and loved them. They were huge, huge, huge back in I mean 2001. I was probably in middle school then at that time. Actually, I was probably in elementary school in 2001. I was a little baby boy in 2001. Um yeah, I was still in elementary school. Yeah, so I finally saw the first two ones. Still haven't seen Return of the King, though that is the plan soon. I uh the the people that have made me watch it, and of course, uh the people that are making us watch it are making us watch the extended director's cuts, so it's even longer with extra scenes. Because that's that's actually been the best thing, is when I've told other Lord of the Rings fans, oh I I finally saw Lord of the Rings and the Two Towers. Their first response is, Are you watching the extended cuts? Because if I did it, it would have been wrong, I guess. It you know, you need to watch the extended cuts. That fan base is rabid, man.

SPEAKER_01

I think it's fun to watch both. To like see, because like re Return of the King is my favorite, and um like I think I started with the the extended and then I went back and watched the theatrical. And it's like cool to like see like what they cut out. It's like, oh wow, this is like cause like there's a scene early on where I'm like, oh wow, this like feels like very different like from the the the extended version. So yeah, I mean like if you can like set aside like days of your your life to like watch all these long ass films, it's like yeah, it's kinda kinda cool because like yeah, like the extended versions are a good amount longer, like there's a lot they cut.

SPEAKER_00

I think the first movie maybe adds on like 20 or 30 minutes. I think the second one added I think like 40-ish. Uh so it's it's a pretty decent chunk to add on to an already long film. Oh wow. Um, but that that's another franchise that I thought was pretty iconic where I I realized I knew a lot about it, but I just didn't know which movie happened where. So I knew some of the big scenes, and I even knew some of the inside jokes, where I think it's the second movie where uh you know Vigo Mortensen kicks a helmet and then screams and he actually breaks his foot in reality. The that that is a that's a true like little story that so many people told me, and even when we watched it with this group of friends, after that scene, he quickly turns like, just so you know, he actually did break his foot doing that, and that scream was real. Then like it was so convenient. My wife, I think that night got an Instagram reel where it was just like point of view, you're watching Lord of the Rings, and you're the only one who hasn't seen it. And as soon as that scene happens, 15 people turn to the one person, all say the exact same line. You know, in reality, Vega Mortenson, kick the helmet, and he broke his foot doing so. So that scream he's doing is real scream. I think that's exactly what it feels like. Yeah, oh, they love it. Yeah, they grab onto their fact. That's what I love about nerds, is they mean well. So they really do mean well. So if they love something so much, they want you to know why it's so good, and if you're not showing like the proper love for it, they need they need you to know this is why this is so good. This is why it's wonderful. And now you understand my joy. You're almost there. You're almost there. You're soon you'll be one of us. I can't wait to watch it with someone who hasn't seen it just so I can get my moment. Yeah, right. You know. Vigo's foot.

SPEAKER_02

Shut the hell up.

SPEAKER_00

We know! We all fucking know. I didn't have the heart to tell the guy, like, dude, I already know this. I just let him have his moment because he was so happy. Ricky, any more movies that you want to discuss? Any more big ones?

SPEAKER_01

I have two two big ones here that I always kind of like grew together. Okay. Um I've never seen dirty dancing or footloose. And like, especially like I feel like females, especially, like, like it's like a lot of them, like, grew up on them and everything. They're like, oh my gosh. Like, it's like so, so iconic. It was like their their favorite films. Um and yeah, it's like I I don't know, I just uh just never got around to it.

SPEAKER_00

I I'm happy you said this because I also have not seen them.

SPEAKER_01

Oh, okay, cool.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, yeah. It's and it's weird, my wife has seen, I think both of them and likes both of them, and we just never watched them together.

SPEAKER_01

So, like, ha have you ever run into that with those? Like, like cause I've gotten that. A little bit, yeah.

SPEAKER_00

Like a lot of theater people really like those movies because it is dance, you know, so yeah. Yeah, no, that that's that's a a pretty good choice, actually.

SPEAKER_01

That I just haven't like I know, like, don't put baby in a corner from one of them, and like yeah. But which one? One's one's Patrick Sweezy, one's Kevin Bacon, I believe. I believe so.

unknown

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

And I don't need to see them, because that's all you need to know.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, maybe you should get really good at faking just those movies.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. Dance, am I right? Moving on.

SPEAKER_00

The you know, I will say, I didn't see a lot of Disney movies growing up. I I really never saw a whole bunch of them. And turns out that was the easiest way to like hang out with girls. Weirdly enough, as I found out. Because I would say, Oh, I never saw Beauty and the Beast. And they'll go, You haven't seen Beauty and the Beast? We okay, we're gonna watch this. And so, like, they would invite me to watch Beauty and the Beast, or I haven't seen Little Mermaid. Oh, we're oh, we gotta watch Little Mermaid. You know, oh I I haven't seen, you know, Pocahontas. Oh, it's it's it's my favorite one, and it happened all the time. I mean, that's one thing that happened with my wife. She loves Tangled, and I never saw Tangled, and she goes, It's it's so good, it's my favorite Disney movie. We're gonna watch Tangled. I the weirdly enough, the only Disney movies I I was more Pixar than Disney, so I saw things like Lion King, and then in 2009, I do remember seeing Princess and the Frog, which I loved, but a lot of those in between Lion King and Princess and the Frog, Hercules I never saw until some girl made me watch it. And so, like, that that's how I caught up on all of my Disney movies was uh girls bullied me into watching it.

SPEAKER_01

You heard it here first, kids. If you want to meet girls, even if you've seen them, say you haven't.

SPEAKER_02

Don't tell people to lie.

SPEAKER_01

Start off by telling lies. Do not tell people. Nothing can go wrong.

SPEAKER_00

I refuse to yes and this.

SPEAKER_01

I'm not come on. So the beginning of next episode will be an apology.

SPEAKER_00

In like three years from now, like someone's gonna resurface this clip and be like, see, we told you those guys were scumbags. They were telling us to lie to.

SPEAKER_01

I apologized, kind of movies. What more do I have to do?

SPEAKER_00

That's so funny. Uh, well, Ricky, I I've kind of spoken about all the main movies I wanted to talk about. Um Are there anything else that you feel like you want to cover? I feel like we covered a lot of good ground today.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, um, there's like there's some that that like kind of suck. Like um the The Others is one that I haven't seen. And that one, like, I think the whole premise, like, well, the ending got spoiled for me, and it's like, so that is like one of those things, it's like, yeah, if it's like pretty old, it's like that is the other thing you have to worry about, is like it might get spoiled for you. Right. So, like, yeah, that that's kind of a bummer. Um But but yeah, it's like I still have like a good amount that I haven't seen.

SPEAKER_00

So I will say on the thing on when it comes to spoilers, I feel like a good movie can still be good even if you know a twist.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, yeah, for four.

SPEAKER_00

But it it does it can be a little uh d uh disheartening. One of my favorite stories that my wife has told me was she was watching uh the Book of Eli with a cousin. Uh and not that this is like a major iconic movie, but uh the book of Eli, this cousin Book of Eli stands, rise up. Oh, there they go. Uh here's a spoiler for Book of Eli, so for all of you big uh Eli fans who still have it on the back burner, cover your ears. But as soon as the movie starts, the cousin looks over and goes, Oh, by the way, he's blind. They don't tell you that till the end, I don't know why. And then turns back to the movie, and that's the whole point of the movie is that he's blind and you get to be revealed that he's been blind the whole time. And this person just immediately turned my wife and just said, Yeah, he's blind. I it's weird they didn't tell they don't tell you that, and just went back to the movie, like, had no idea like this this person has no no idea like how to uh uh watch media, I guess. Like the same kind of person that would watch six synths, like Bruce Willis is dead. I it's weird they don't tell you that, like, but he is, and that's gonna help you understand the movie better.

SPEAKER_01

They they just have no concept of a twist.

Yeah, they really don't, like they don't understand, like that's the fucking media literacy people, come on. Yeah, right. Um, but to kind of put a bow on this, I even when I finally watched Empire Strikes Back, uh, after years of not seeing the Star Wars films, obviously I knew everything about Vader and Luke, blah blah blah blah. But it still was a fantastic movie, even knowing that. So I think sometimes knowing the spoilers, it's a bummer, especially if it's like a brand new movie and someone says, like, can't believe this happened. Which I think it's not the Simpsons joke of like, wow, Vader was Luke's father.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, it's like Yeah, because like everyone's l lined up to like see it, and then Homer and Marge are walking past, and then he's like just spoiling it. Cause I think that was like a big thing in real life. Like, like um everyone was like, like, I don't know how how common that that was, but like they always reference that, like people getting spoiled about that.

SPEAKER_00

I remember a couple of times in high school, I would have a friend that I would see a movie with, and if we knew someone was seeing that movie, we would make up a fake spoiler on the way out.

SPEAKER_01

That is fun. Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

Because we would get the reaction of like, oh my god. And then just for them to be watching and going, Wait, what? Like, this this never happened. And I'm sure it still ruined the movie for them because they have this expectation and they're trying to piece it together, and now they're missing the wrong clues. High school is your dicks. Well, I think that's all the time that we have today, Ricky. This was a lot of fun. Thank you for listening to another episode of a Mostly Film Podcast. I've been Brandon, and with me as always is Ricky. Now please go watch the movies.

SPEAKER_01

Bye.
