Some places feel like they do not entirely belong to the present.
In this episode, we explore time slips, phantom roads, vanishing hotels, and strange encounters with places that seem to shift into another version of reality. From Versailles and Bold Street to impossible desert highways, missing photographs, and stories of people who briefly found themselves somewhere they could not explain, these accounts all share one eerie idea: sometimes the world around us may not be as fixed as it feels.
This is a Backrooms-adjacent journey into liminal spaces, modern folklore, and the unsettling possibility that certain roads, buildings, and streets may open onto somewhere else.

A man was cutting Christmas trees in the mountains near Taos, New Mexico. He camped out overnight and woke to what sounded like wagon wheels coming towards him. A few minutes later, it sounded like he was surrounded by the wagons and the noises of a group of people from a wagon train. Finally, near dawn, he heard them break camp, and the wagon train actually sounded like they were actually traveling through his tent. When he finally got out of his tent the next morning, the snow-covered ground only had his footsteps from the day before.
SPEAKER_04Listen closely, old walls still speak. Some things are hidden, not to be forgotten, but to be kept.
SPEAKER_00The old house remembers what others forget.
SPEAKER_04What is remembered is most truly.
SPEAKER_00Listen closely, and you too may just hear voices from the attic.
SPEAKER_06Hey guys, welcome back to Voices from the Attic. I am Andrew T. Reed, uh researcher, editor, YouTuber, paranormal enthusiast, uh, and big old giant nerd. Also, I'm a son.
SPEAKER_01Thank you. I was hoping you'd add that to the end of it.
SPEAKER_06I'm a son billionaire, philanthropist. Uh, what is what else does Tony Stark say?
SPEAKER_01Oh, he doesn't say son. He doesn't.
SPEAKER_06No, I he doesn't, but uh he is, he is though.
SPEAKER_01Wouldn't it be nice to be though, some of those other things that he added?
SPEAKER_06I would love to be a billionaire and a philanthropist. Well, you can't really be a philanthropist philanthropist without being a billionaire, it seems like.
SPEAKER_01Well, you could be a millionaire philanthropist.
SPEAKER_06You could even be not not in this economy, you can't. A millionaire? You don't have enough money to you know pay rent.
SPEAKER_01That's a good attitude. Thanks. Hi, I'm Terry Reid. I'm an author. Um, and I write paranormal. I don't usually mention that. I write paranormal mystery, uh, and I also just you probably should mention that more often.
SPEAKER_06Yeah, yeah. If you like paranormal stuff, hey, she writes paranormal stuff.
SPEAKER_01I write paranormal mysteries. I also um just released my newest book, and it's the third in uh urban fantasy, and it's called The Fairy Court. So um that's me. Take a look if you like that kind of stuff.
SPEAKER_06She she sent me a screenshot uh a couple days ago. Uh was it a couple days ago? Was it yesterday?
SPEAKER_01Oh, it was yesterday when I No, it was Thursday.
SPEAKER_06Oh, that's right. Yeah, so it was a couple days ago. Uh it was a screenshot where uh you were in sixth place. Yes, sixth place in fantasy overall uh on YouTube.
SPEAKER_01Fantasy fairy tale fantasy new releases.
SPEAKER_06Okay. Uh she was number sixth. And Brandon Sanderson's uh storybook collection of of Hoyd telling stories, which if you know Brandon Sanderson and you're into the Cosmere, you probably know who Hoyd is. I I I am a big fan of Brandon Sanderson and his work. Uh he's number seven.
SPEAKER_01So um my mom is beating uh Brandon Sanderson in the genre chess moment, and and you know, I do realize that that was a momentarily thing, but I'll take it. I will totally take it.
SPEAKER_06It's yeah, it's still awesome. It's still something, you know. I personally I feel like you know, you you in paranormal stuff, you used to, and I think probably still do, beat uh Stephen King. I do occasionally beat Stephen King in Paranormal. But that's I I feel like the the big difference here is that that storybook it was new releases, and and Brandis Anderson is very good at marketing and letting you know letting people down. He's got friggin' drag uh dragon seal conventions in various different places. Yeah, I mean, talk talk about somebody who you know he's somebody who is is committed to actually like writing a book and just following through and you know getting a series out there. If there's anyone who I believe could finish the Cosmere in my lifetime, you know, it it's definitely him.
SPEAKER_01To be fair, this was he hadn't released it yet. It was a new release, but it was an upcoming release. Okay, okay. So it didn't have any reviews or anything on it, but I don't care. I'm taking it on you totally taking it.
SPEAKER_06Take that dub, take that W. You you know, you've earned it.
SPEAKER_01So yeah, so I thought I I I would mention that. And um um podcaster, youtuber.
SPEAKER_06We're still on that part still. Wow, adh deer, which we adh doer.
SPEAKER_01I oh I like that adh mover and doer. I like that. Okay, more merch. Um so and a mom and a grandma, but yeah. Yeah. And uh today, okay. So um, if you watched our last week's podcast, uh, we're still in the same clothes.
SPEAKER_06Yeah, yeah. We've we've been stuck in this attic for a week. We haven't moved. Um, that corner over there smells real bad. Don't ask me why. Uh, because I'm ashamed of things that I had to do to survive. Um no, we we we cut cameras uh and then we just kind of like we're doing part two.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, and usually we we we do a wardrobe change, but it was like well, for part two, I feel like it's okay.
SPEAKER_06We can do that.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, hope if you guys don't like it, comment.
SPEAKER_06Let us know. It's disgusting. You guys are on the same wardrobe. What is this?
SPEAKER_01What is this? So yeah. Are you peasants? Yes, yes, we are. We actually are. Yeah, yeah. My heritage goes back to Ireland and the castles, but I'm probably one of the peasant people.
SPEAKER_06Uh, we've also got some royalty. We do, but also who doesn't? And also, we're no, I'm not gonna I'm not gonna uh flame any specific kind of royalty because that's yes, that's mean.
SPEAKER_01So thank you for all of your comments, your likes, your subscribes, your follows, all of the things that you're doing.
SPEAKER_06We're assuming that the last episode was really well received and everyone loves us and wants to see more of what we're doing, um, even though we haven't seen it yet. That's just the assumption.
SPEAKER_01Um, that now we are we're positive thinkers, so we're thinking that way.
SPEAKER_06Yeah, we're now swimming in millions of subscribers and uh billions of dollars currently.
SPEAKER_01Oh, so we could be a philanthropist.
SPEAKER_06We can now thank you guys for letting us be philanthropists. Uh I appreciate that and everything that you do. No, but seriously though, all the support, even if it's the bare minimum, is just watching it and and then sharing it with your friends. And subscribing. Well, yeah, um we would appreciate you subscribing even more. Um, but I mean just watching it all the way through is is Oh, that's a good thing. That that's fantastic. Yeah, we we appreciate and we love your comments.
SPEAKER_01So please, please let us know that we're not the only ones here in uh we're just speaking to the void.
SPEAKER_06Yeah, echoing halls of of the void of podcasts in the back rooms.
SPEAKER_03Hello, hello, hello.
SPEAKER_06Yeah, please let us please make sure that our video and podcast doesn't stay in the back rooms. We want we want our podcast to to go out so everyone can see to the universe.
SPEAKER_01So, do you ever want one of those experiences when you're driving and you know, maybe you're having a good conversation with somebody, or maybe you're thinking about what you have to do when you get home. Or you're listening to a real good audiobook, or you're listening to the and all of a sudden you look up and you think, Where the heck am I? And you really start looking for landmarks because you know you've been on this road for a while, and yeah it takes you a while to figure out, oh, okay, I know where I am.
SPEAKER_06Um they call that uh disassociation station. Uh no, I just made that up. Uh it is probably disassociation, but that station part, I just figured it wrong.
SPEAKER_01It sounds like one of those um schoolhouse rock. Disassociation station.
SPEAKER_06Yep, that's where you that's where you go. Uh when you're disassociating, and then the place that you realize and you come back to it and you realize like, oh, I'm here.
SPEAKER_01That's the station.
SPEAKER_06That's the station. Yeah. Disassociation station.
SPEAKER_01Okay. And I don't know, is that a thing? I mean, do you guys do you do that?
SPEAKER_06Everyone, I think everyone, there's different kinds of disassociation. We got Ash for the facts. I did this on the way to your house a couple of weeks ago.
SPEAKER_01That's so good to know.
SPEAKER_06Yep. Yep. Thank you. That was uh Ash, our uh audio podcaster and just all around knower of all things.
SPEAKER_01Yes. And um, and so you know, there's these little little time slips that that maybe we all kind of experience in our lives.
SPEAKER_06Usually for me, it's in the mornings when I'm still waking up. I man, time slips for me a lot.
SPEAKER_05Like turn back time for me.
SPEAKER_06It's like trying to manage my time in the mornings, especially, is sometimes like holding loose sand in my hand. Or I'm just like, I swear I grabbed more earlier and now I have none. It's gone, and I am coming to work late.
SPEAKER_01We actually talked about the phenomena of ADHD. Thank you.
SPEAKER_06Phenomena. Do do do do we we gotta stop there or else YouTube because we're just too good. YouTube's gonna ban us.
SPEAKER_01Oh, yeah. They're gonna say, oh, that sounds like the original.
SPEAKER_06Yeah, are you guys aren't the Muppets.
SPEAKER_01That's that's what it was like. When you in the last podcast were describing the the horror, um horror, horror body images, or the yeah, in that Menomina, the first, because they were on Ed Sullivan. That's when that that and it was the Muppets, yeah, yeah. And they were people, they were the Muppets had the nose and they had the big long mouth. Because I kept thinking, that reminds me of something. It's the Menomina people that are the body horror image, the one with the really big mouth.
SPEAKER_06That was the body what for you were saying that in the thing is that oh, are you saying are you saying that our description of John Carpenter's the thing reminded you of the Menomina Muppets?
SPEAKER_01They have the they had the big drop-down mouth. You said there was eyes and this really big long mouth, and that's what those Muppets had.
SPEAKER_06Um I'm not gonna show me scary stuff. Um I I'm gonna just show you an image of just so we can be clear that that um John Carpenter's the thing does not resemble the Muppets in any way, shape, or form.
SPEAKER_01Okay, and then we'll have to, and we won't do it right now while we're talking to you, but he will look up the uh other one and maybe the Muppets picture from the Ed Sullivan show and uh see if it does look like. Does that remind you of No, but that's not the one, that's the long neck guy that is I said was stretched. I'm talking about the one with the eyeballs and the mouth that you said that the mouth was like this way on their body. It was this way.
SPEAKER_06Um that was gross though. Well, yeah, that's that's body horror for you.
SPEAKER_01Okay.
SPEAKER_06Um I all of the pictures that are showing, because I I looked at I was gonna say, have you seen any of the movies by David Cronenberg?
SPEAKER_01No.
SPEAKER_06I haven't seen any of the movies. I've played uh oh, what's the game? Um it there it was not I won't say recently, but uh not not too long ago, uh, on Xbox Game Pass, they had like the updated version of this this game that was heavily inspired on Cronenberg's artwork.
SPEAKER_05Um I gotta yeah, yeah. But sorry, I started to distract you from the thing that you were distracting from.
SPEAKER_06Cronenberg though.
SPEAKER_01Cronenberg is a second level distraction.
SPEAKER_06But yeah, David, talk about body horror. Okay. That is wild.
SPEAKER_01We might uh look these things up and and and put them in. Yeah.
SPEAKER_06So if you know what I'm talking about, if you know the video game that I'm referring to, drop that in the comments below. Um, and I will look at that and go, oh, you're right. I'll probably already know by that point. But then everyone else can know can know.
SPEAKER_01Okay.
SPEAKER_06You might like altered states.
SPEAKER_01Oh.
SPEAKER_05So, you know, just a thing.
SPEAKER_06Or my favorite uh piece of literature of all time, uh, I have no mouth and I must scream.
SPEAKER_01Ooh, that'd be creepy.
SPEAKER_06That's great.
SPEAKER_01Okay, so going back to, I'm gonna try to retrace my steps because I said phenomena. Reel it in, better. Then that's when we got to the song, and then I I did that. No, I I so they're saying that people with ADHD actually not tangentially related. Not that you would accuse us of anything like that.
SPEAKER_06Never, I dare say, I will never take that accusation laying down. Lose track of time. No, it's true. Our our Arcadian rhythm, I think that's what it's called, is off awful. Yeah, my my Arcadian rhythm is like I will sometimes, you know, just trying to wake myself up. I will kind of sit in my bed and I'm like, okay, five minutes maybe have passed. And then I look at the time and and it's like 30 minutes later. I'm like, what happened? Yeah, and it's I'm trying to keep track of time, but for some reason, just it flies by. And so, you know, basically for me, it's like I either have to wake up super duper duper early to get he doesn't. I'm so bad at that because the Arcadian rhythm also have like that also makes it difficult to keep a um uh a sleeping schedule as well. It's not you know, with with ADHD, you know, we're we're a paranormal podcast, you know. So uh all these all these medical things that I'm talking about is for my own personal experience and also things that I've researched, but talk to your doctors if uh, you know, if um I'm I'm not I'm not gonna be able to speak for anyone else's experience other than my own. But I notice that um I I you know it's not like I don't just get tired and like okay, now it's time for me to go to bed. Because sometimes I get tired and then I get a spike of energy.
SPEAKER_00Right.
SPEAKER_06And I also, when I am asleep, it's not always just like, okay, my body will naturally wake up at seven o'clock in the morning because that's how when I always wake up. Sometimes my body's just like, you know, I just don't feel like it. We're not gonna wake up right now. Yeah. And it like it does take for people with ADHD, it does take a little bit of extra diligence to, you know, because it patterns are difficult for us. Um so anyway.
SPEAKER_01So welcome to the world of ADHD. We're your podcasters, Terry Reid and Andrew Tierraid here to walk you through. No. So we're gonna go back to time and time slips.
SPEAKER_06Just just know that the ghosts in your attic, us, the voices in your attic, have ADHD. So uh if you hear a squirrel upstairs in the attic, that's us.
SPEAKER_01That is totally us. That is totally us.
SPEAKER_05I don't have it. I just like to exploit yours.
SPEAKER_01Thank you. We need people to do that.
SPEAKER_06I no one's ever that's the nicest thing anyone's ever said to me.
SPEAKER_01Thank you. Okay. So getting back to the podcast, yeah. Um, so last week we talked about backrooms. We talked a little bit about the Fae. We talked about caves, which was really cool.
SPEAKER_06Yeah. Um, which we talked about caves because those were often used as ancient um like thin places. Yeah, thin places, ancient entrances into the other world. Thin places, we use it broadly. It's technically a Celtic term, but I I personally think, and I think you do as well, think that it that term can apply to um, at the very least, most religious ideas of that area, like that that veil that's sometimes thinner between our world and the other world.
SPEAKER_01And sometimes thinner depending on what time of the year. We we talked about soin, you know, Halloween. Um, there's certain times of the year where the solstice, yeah, the where you feel like you just feel more.
SPEAKER_06Yeah, dawn and dusk.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_06I mean, usually it is again liminal.
SPEAKER_01We're going back to the liminal. Exactly.
SPEAKER_06Uh a period of time. Well, and that's also, you know, we didn't talk about this last time. We had a cut this conversation before, but I think it's it's, you know, since since we are briefly talking about the backrooms before we get into the you know, the next little bit that is definitely also, I think, probably even more firmly established with that backrooms stuff. But when it comes to liminal spaces, a lot of the a lot of paranormal events happen in some of these traditionally liminal spaces that we don't often think about. Right. Um, right now I'm thinking of, and I don't, I don't remember if it was ever officially confirmed as a hoax or not. I think people just like to call things a hoax because they can't explain it and they're scared. But the picture on the stairs, right, of the ghost, yeah, of that the woman, and a very, very famous picture. Um, even if that one is a is a hoax, I I don't know what the standard.
SPEAKER_01I don't think it I I think they have not been able to um hoax it. I don't think they've been able to do that. So and I I read years ago that many times that ghosts are seen on staircases because it is that transitional from upstairs to downstairs.
SPEAKER_06Yeah, and um people don't like to stay on the stairs very long, usually. I will admit, I sometimes sit on the bottom of the stairs when I'm you know not wanting to go further.
SPEAKER_01Like basement stairs. Oh, you know that somebody's gonna reach right in through there and grab your ankle when you're coming up the stairs.
SPEAKER_06I think anytime I'm going up the stairs, like even the kitchen sometimes, because we have our uh we have two staircases in our house, um, one in the front hallway and the other one uh in the kitchen area. Right. It's like kind of a nice little loop. And uh, I will sometimes turn off the lights to the kitchen and then I will have to run up the stairs because I know that there's a shadow um chasing me and it's gonna it's about to grab me. So um I don't do it as an adult much anymore, but as a kid, I would always do that.
SPEAKER_01See, and I've never the the kitchen stairs have not bothered me because they've got carpet and and backing on them. It's those basement stairs that are just like planks, and somebody can reach through the planks.
SPEAKER_06That's the big fear.
SPEAKER_01You know, you there's monsters underneath, yeah, yeah, and they're ready to grab your legs and pull you into.
SPEAKER_05Isn't the DeSoto House ghost going downstairs below ground?
SPEAKER_01Yes, I think so.
SPEAKER_06There's a lot of ghosts that go well and hotels are as well, are kind of I'll say it, they are also they serve as a liminal place as well. You it's a temporary place that you sleep, and so usually you use them when you're traveling from one place to another. I would consider that a fairly liminal space, even if it's not traditionally liminal the way we're talking about.
SPEAKER_01And the DeSoto house, the that their their ghost and Galena, there's a a hole in the wall, another from one room to the other, another liminal space where she is often seen too. Also, I don't know if I pointed out the person uh did I did I call out Ash?
SPEAKER_06Have you have you? We kind of did, but Okay. Well, just in case I haven't, um the this is Ash, Ash with the facts. Uh he is our uh sound producer and knower of all things. I feel like we said that, but also we did two episodes today, so I don't know.
SPEAKER_01I think we did it in this episode episode too, but that's okay because he deserves to be introduced twice.
SPEAKER_05Yep, yep. Yep, at least my name's not Jack. His name's not Jack.
SPEAKER_01He's he's a Jack of all trades, but he's an he's Ash.
SPEAKER_06Yeah, and he does know Jack. He does.
SPEAKER_01So when we think about time as um as humans in our our little kind of small minds, yeah, um we we think of it in one linear movement, you know, uh yesterday, today, and tomorrow.
SPEAKER_06Time moves forward, the inevitable march of time.
SPEAKER_01But the idea behind time could more be it's a circle.
unknownYeah.
SPEAKER_01It's the circle.
SPEAKER_06So I mean, actually, um oddly enough, there is uh a D, uh Dungeons and Dragons um location.
SPEAKER_00Okay.
SPEAKER_06Uh that I I'm not gonna get into all the specifics because the the whole like the the setting uh and the world and everything is basically it kind of connects all the worlds together. It's like the the shared multiverse thing, and so it's it's in a basically another dimension. Um, and so you know, it has a different bunch of different port uh doorways to a bunch of different and so you're dealing with a lot of like giant, you know, gods and everything. And so the the whole point is you're kind of a uh a small player in a huge area, but in the intro of this, um in in one of the books uh talking about this campaign setting, which I don't remember the name of, um they basically talk about the fact that, like you said, time is a circle, and you know, everything will eventually happen again. And if it hasn't, if if you're noticing that progress is Moving forward, just wait. Because eventually it will loop back around to where you started. Interesting. Essentially. Interesting. I think when you look at things when you step back, if you for instance, if you live if you were like a god of some kind of pantheon, you know, you're able to to look back and examine the wider world for millennia. That would be I think you'd be able to see that. You'd be able to see that, you know, we humans operate in giant circles, circles, patterns. Um, but also I I also believe that, you know, we we live in this specific dimension. Uh and this dimension operates um under the rules of space and time. But if there happened to be a way that we could break through to another dimension, spirit potentially is a way to do that. I believe that that being would be able to, you know, we have like the 2D image, right? Because uh it it doesn't have, you know, so it breaks into the th our third dimension, right? But the next dimension, I think we'd be breaking out of the time. We have something beings able to see our time like we are seeing a 2D image, is able to look down and see that we have no control over time. But I do think personally that you know, these other things, when you break out of that and you get you're able to examine time in a way that we just can't comprehend. Um I think you know that that's that's the in my opinion and belief, that's that's the next dimension.
SPEAKER_01And sometimes we we slip, and that's what we're gonna talk about. Sometimes we slip into it, and and as I we're talking, um, a bunch of ideas or thoughts or stories came to mind that I I didn't put down, but for example, the stories that um are in the Bermuda Triangle.
SPEAKER_06Oh yeah, any any of the triangles, really.
SPEAKER_01But you know, the planes that take off from one place, and it's a three or four hour plane ride to this other place, and they get to this other place and only two hours have passed.
SPEAKER_04Yeah.
SPEAKER_01And they don't know how that happened. And what was that movie? Okay, and it's it's an Ash thing. The movie about the destroyer that went back in time, um, like the naval destroyer.
SPEAKER_05Oh, the ship. Final countdown. It was an aircraft carrier.
SPEAKER_01Yes, and it went back to like uh Pearl Harbor, Pearl Harbor, yes.
SPEAKER_06And just in case you didn't know that, I'm just kidding.
SPEAKER_01I'm I'm not gonna that's Ash with the facts, the know of all things. He does. He's gonna be able to do that.
SPEAKER_05Every time he talks, I'm gonna announce him again. No, I won't do that. So not to be confused with the Philadelphia experiment with something else.
SPEAKER_01That was that was yes. And what was that based in some kind of fact?
SPEAKER_06Are are we talking about the the the where the ship went into like they they were doing the experiment where the ship went into basically like a different it it essentially transported and then it came back and then?
SPEAKER_01And then people were like stuck in the middle of Yeah, inside the metal.
SPEAKER_06Inside the metal. Yeah, yeah. That one it was um there was a whistleblower who talked about that that's one of those things where the credibility is a little bit shaky because the person, well, and of course, you know, that's the hard thing we were talking about, this kind of stuff. But when you look at when you examine the records of the people like the people who are working in or near that base, the military workers, um, there's no accounts of people like any people in the military who went missing around that time. That doesn't mean it couldn't be covered up, but it's just that's one of those things, it's hard.
SPEAKER_01Excuse me, our government never lies to us.
SPEAKER_06It the the evidence is difficult when it comes to that, but that doesn't mean it didn't happen just because that's the nature of conspiracies, right? You know, right.
SPEAKER_01So that whole idea of time is is interesting.
SPEAKER_06We want to talk about it as space and space as well, because there's there's a huge correlation between time and space as well. I mean, the faster you go, you do kind of time travel a little bit, like you know, years, years ago before the advent of cars, if you wanted to go somewhere, it was it was um um days to get there. That's true. That now we travel in hours. That's true, and that could be considered time travel in a way. Also, the when you look at things, the the when you look at the broader physics of like the idea of relativity, right? And the fact that time literally warps around huge objects, and so space-time, and so you know, I think when we talk about time and space distortions and warps, I think that is very closely associated with the idea of the backrooms because the whole point of the backrooms is that you go into a a space that is outside of those realms, you accidentally slip into a place that those um time and space things don't matter, yeah, yeah. And so, and then if you happen to come back to our world, you could be in a completely different space or a completely different time.
SPEAKER_01A rip Van Winkle or King Herrl. Oh shoot. Well, it was a week ago. We're not supposed to remember.
SPEAKER_06Yeah, because we yeah, like I said, we were here for the King Hole or Hurla. Hurla. King Hurla. I could be pronouncing that wrong. Hurla or Urla or you know, something like that. I mean King Earl. That's probably where her Earl comes from. Because Earla, potentially, if they don't use the H.
SPEAKER_01Okay. Anyway. So I'm gonna start with um kind of a famous time slip. Yeah, it's the Versailles time slip. This is a good one, and it's also known as the 1901 Moberly Jordan incident, and it refers to an alleged time travel or paranormal experience reported by two English academics. So these aren't just, you know, your everyday touristy kind of ladies. These these ladies were educated. Yes.
SPEAKER_06They were educated. They were educated. Actually, they're English. They were educated.
SPEAKER_01Yes, quite at the Palace of Versailles. Um, so these are the key facts. It was August 10th, 1901. The location was uh the Petit Troyenon, Versailles, France. The principal witnesses were Anne Moberly and Eleanor Jourdain, and they actually wrote a book in 1911 called An Adventure, and that was about what they did. And so basically, they were visiting uh the palace and Palace of Versailles, the Palace of Versailles, and they it's it is called Petite Trois and Non. And I I I'm thinking that is the small three, I don't know. Tri is three. Anyway, so I'm sure it's a place, and they reported feeling a sudden oppression, and then seeing people in 18th century dress, unusual landscaping, and a woman sketching whom Moberly later believed was Marie Antoinette. They described the atmosphere as dreamlike and uncanny.
SPEAKER_05Now I I figured this would be guillotine related eventually.
SPEAKER_06I was about to ask. Now, is this Marie with or without her head?
SPEAKER_01She had a head.
SPEAKER_06Okay.
SPEAKER_01Are we are we this is still being recorded? I mean, we're still recording, we're still rolling. Okay, so uh Ash had a moment of uh giggliness, and so that distracted us.
SPEAKER_06If you notice that we both kind of looked off camera, it's because he was uh yeah, he was trying to cover his his laughter.
SPEAKER_01Yes, and and we responded like professionals. What you doing? So anyway, so I no, I think Marie Antoinette, she was she was drawing, so I was eating cake. No, it doesn't sound like it. I I heard that that was not true.
SPEAKER_06It's not yeah, that's not a quote. Actually, Marie Antoinette, even though even though she wasn't necessarily very good when it came to money, I she kind of she did that because I mean she was incredibly depressed because the the the marriage that she had was uh well a depressing one, you know, it was a kind of a loveless marriage a little bit, but also she really did care for her people. She just was very inexperienced because I mean, you know She didn't have a good PR person. No, well, don't say it this way. Well, and she was she was Austrian. Oh and so she was the scapegoat, basically. She really it wasn't her fault. Okay. None of this was actually it was a lot of it was the economics of her husband who didn't really know what he was doing doing.
SPEAKER_01So, according to their testimonies, the first they they use the word ghoul they saw was a woman shaking a white cloth from a window. After that, they bumped into a group of men dressed as palace gardeners in long coats and small three-cornered hats. Hmm. Uh who supposedly told them to head straight on. Head straight on. Startled, they did the sensible thing and took the ghostly advice and continued on their journey, um, where they encountered a cottage and a woman and child in the doorway. It's at this point when they describe the scariest person of all, a tall man with smallpox wearing a hat and a cloak, who slowly turned to face them. That was probably not a good look.
SPEAKER_06No, that'd be terrifying. Also, I love this almost feels like it's not because it, you know, but it really, especially with the guy, you know, going in there, it really does kind of feel like uh a haunted Versailles tour. That's right. They're all dressed up, and you got that one guy who's just really good with makeup, so he's like, I will be the guy with smallpox. Right, yeah. Let me do that.
SPEAKER_01Let me do that.
SPEAKER_06I I've been waiting for this opportunity.
SPEAKER_01But again, this is 1901, so yeah.
SPEAKER_06Yeah, no, and and I don't think they even have that now.
SPEAKER_01And uh Moberly described the smallpox guy as having an evil yet unseeing expression.
SPEAKER_06I'm curious. I'm I want to do some research to see if there was anyone in the Versailles court who had smallpox. They did they okay.
SPEAKER_01Well then So finally, one more ghostly uh uh uh ghost alleged ghosty. They say they use the word ghosty.
SPEAKER_06Uh because they're English.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. Allegedly creep up on the a man with large eyes and black hair under a massive sombrero who eventually guided them where to this petite Trianon where they saw Marie Antoinette. And so they they were both educators at St. Hugh's College, and so they went home. They didn't tell anybody about this, but they both investigated historical details afterwards and published their findings anonymously as an adventure. And that was written in 1911. The book detailed meticulous comparisons between their observ observations and period maps and documents to validity to validate their experience.
SPEAKER_04Interesting.
SPEAKER_01Now, skeptics have attributed the incident to misinterpretation, suggested, or I love this word, confabulation. Possibly encountering a historical reenactment or ordinary tourists.
SPEAKER_06It was nine it was in 1901. I don't know. And and that wasn't like they didn't sign up for that kind of thing. Nobody that would be such an elaborate hoax, especially considering they were really it sounds like they were the only ones who experienced it. No one else was around.
SPEAKER_01Right.
SPEAKER_06So like why?
SPEAKER_01Why yeah, why why do this? Why why spend so much time researching it and writing a book about it?
SPEAKER_06And also like, why I was talking about if people were there, you know, if that was happening, like, yeah, why go through all the that that'd be an expensive, elaborate box to assuming that, you know.
SPEAKER_01And if they're academics, really, is that what you want to put your name to? Right. I mean, that could discredit them, which is probably why they wrote it anonymously. Absolutely. But not that anonymously, because I guess, you know, here we are more than a hundred years later, knowing that they wrote it. We know um so it says that this Versailles time slip influenced later ghost and time travel narratives, inspiring documentaries, novels, and adaptations. It remains a case study in uh the psychology of perception, the enduring fascination with temporal anomalies, and the mystique of Versailles. Then also, which is very interesting, author Shirley Jackson said that the 1911 book and adventure contributed to her own writing, and she wrote The Haunting of Hill House.
SPEAKER_05Ahahaha.
SPEAKER_06So um I was wondering, I was like, why does that name sound so familiar? Yes. She, there are a lot of different things that she uh attributes to, and and some of the things that she has attributed to. I would eventually love to do an episode on the various different things that were that she used to uh to base on the Haunting of Hill House. Because it's yeah, there's there's a lot of it's it's it's a dry read. I'm not gonna lie, like some of the studies uh I I read um that she pointed out, they are they're academic. And so, you know, the the language itself is kind of purposefully dry, but what they're describing should be fascinating. So I just need to, you know, buckle down and get through it. But that honestly is one of the things that I've wanted to study.
SPEAKER_01Well, this the whole Versailles thing is one of the first documented, you know, time slip stories.
SPEAKER_06And so that's not considered, you know, folklore because we do have, we talked in the last episode about a bunch of yes, even though that one is specifically, you know, made up Washington Irving, yes. Right. But there are other ones that, you know, it's it's a little bit more up in the air, whether or not like like the one that I talked about, it it was uh that that you you brought up. You mentioned earlier in this episode the the king uh Erla or Hurla. Uh that one was written by uh I I didn't go into this, but it was written by a courtier. Um and basically the the idea is that he was writing down the the history and rumors of the area, and so that would include, you know, a lot of paranormal things as well. These are stories that people pass down and you know potentially truly believed. And so, you know, even though this one in Versailles is the first written-down account of somebody that we know for a fact wasn't written to be fiction, right? Um, that doesn't mean that it's the first one that's been written down and reported. Yeah.
SPEAKER_01And and so it you know, from this one, is it is it did they see it because I I guess immediately I'm thinking about, okay, and Ash might have to help me with this. The movie that came out um about the father was a fireman, and so you might not know this. The dad was a fireman. It was oh, I can see his face. He was a fireman, and he actually ends up um his son is a policeman, but later after his dad dies, and it's I think it's based in Chicago, and there's like northern light, so it's affecting the atmosphere. And somehow Jeff Daniels in this, it's the guy with the really big smile who was married to Meg Ryan for a while. I know what you're talking about. Dennis Quaid. And there's there's this like serial murderer throughout the whole thing, and they're communicating with each other years apart using the same um um it's like a radio, right? Radio TV radio. Frequency. Frequency. Yeah. Frequency is the movie. It's a great, if you haven't seen that, it is a great movie. And yeah, but the whole so so what what causes some of these things? It is it like because this was supposed to be, you kind of felt like this was because of the northern lights and there was like an electromagnetic storm, and that's why this was all happening.
SPEAKER_06And there was also like there, there was actual real communication between the two as well, where a lot of these, it seems like, you know, they they experience things, so I guess it depends on the different stories, but like it doesn't seem like it's as active of um of interactions with a lot of these stories.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, in frequency, they're actually talking to each other and they're and they change period things that happen in time, right? But you know, is it so is it did these women see these people because there was an atmospheric thing? Did they see these did they see it because Versailles tends to do is it is a place, is it a time, is it the person? Is it shadows? Is it what the energy the energy because okay? So I'll I'll let you tell one, but then we'll talk about Bold Street in England, which is definitely a place that is causing these times.
SPEAKER_06There's so many things that happen there. Yes, and we all honestly might end up doing a full episode later on. We're gonna talk about a few of the experiences, but there's so much there.
SPEAKER_01We need more subscribers because we want to go to Bold Street in England and yeah, and yeah, we want to take Ash with us. We'll take Rachel too. Yeah, she's if she's down. Oh, okay. No, Rachel, cover your ears for a minute.
SPEAKER_05She doesn't have a passport, but I do.
SPEAKER_01Oh, I I I have one, I've got to re-renew it. It's only got a year.
SPEAKER_06I feel like a passport is kind of an easy thing to rectify, right? Like you can, yeah, yeah, you can fix that.
SPEAKER_01And I it probably won't be in the next couple months, just saying. So, but wouldn't that be fun?
SPEAKER_05She hasn't used her passport since our honeymoon. That was a long time ago.
SPEAKER_01Ah, you know, we got passports when Andrew went to Germany. We didn't get to go to Germany. We got passports, though, because we kept saying we're gonna go somewhere.
SPEAKER_06I I probably I think my renewal is coming up.
SPEAKER_01It's like 20, uh, it's it's one more year because I keep looking at my passport that doesn't have a stamp on it.
SPEAKER_06I've I've I really ought to do something with this. I have had the wonderful experience of being able to go to several different places. That's right. You got to go to England. I got I got to go to England uh for work. I got to go to Mexico for a different job uh for work.
SPEAKER_01That's right. Um you you used the heck out of that passport.
SPEAKER_06I did.
SPEAKER_01I'm so happy for you.
SPEAKER_06Um, yeah, I'm not gonna complain. I'm way jealous. I'm jealous. Yeah, it was cool, and I'm not gonna lie, both experiences, even though they're technically for work, it did not feel like work. I mean, you know, I'm uh yeah. I nothing like that's gonna well, I'm not gonna say that. I'm gonna say in the near future, I don't foresee us being able to do anything like that. But like we're talking about, we would love to do some field research.
SPEAKER_01And so, you know, uh, we could go, we could do like a month in the UK and do podcast after podcast. I would love that. There's so many things that we could do.
SPEAKER_06I've already done uh D D in a castle. Uh that's one of the reasons I went to England. Um, or that was the reason I went to England, but now we could do uh telling ghost stories in a castle.
SPEAKER_00Oh, that would be cool.
SPEAKER_06That'd be fantastic.
SPEAKER_01And supposedly, my great, great, great, great, great, great, great, great, great, all the grandmother is buried in the hill Mora in Ireland. She was she was Mora, which is also your great, great, great, great, great, great.
SPEAKER_06Well, where I mean, through your side, we're also related to uh Merlin.
SPEAKER_01So I mean checks out.
SPEAKER_06So we just talked about a really famous like time slip. Slip. Yeah. Uh, but but it was the same location, just like uh a different time. Um I do have a story where they slip into a different place. Ooh. Now, I will say there's a big c caveat caveat. Yeah. Uh grain of salt. Yeah, take this with a grain of salt. Um, I will say up front. So it's uh it it made its rounds on the internet and a lot of other I I actually heard about this through another uh YouTube slash podcaster individual. Um and it's called the Getty An Canyon encounter.
SPEAKER_01Okay.
SPEAKER_06Um now it's the reason why it's it's I think the story itself is weird and unexplainable and wild enough that I would buy it. Like I I personally would buy the testimony of the person. Okay, but the reason why I say take it with a grain of salt is because actually because of the geography. Um, as I was doing research, one of the first things I I you know, I I read this and I went, oh, I've not heard of Getty and Canyon. And you know, the the article that I I read it from, which unfortunately I wasn't able to find like a first source. Okay. Um and the people the the people in the article, their names, uh, were allegedly changed to make sure that, you know, for for uh anonymity and everything like that, which I get. I'm totally I I think that that's good. Um, but unfortunately I just I'm not able to find any like, you know, first where it came from. Okay. Um but it with the uh I I decided after I read this to to look up like where is Getty Anton Canyon? And it when I looked online, there's there are no accounts of a canyon called that. Now, that doesn't mean it's so this this Utah we're talking about.
SPEAKER_01And and uh, you know, the the article talks about the Gaddy and you know I gotta say though, there is an old story in in uh Mormon LDS Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saint Laure. Yeah, about Brigham Young being at the Mantai Temple, and um he he basically it was um something happened and he looked out into the canyons, the mountains around him in Mantai, and said that he could see the spirits of the Gaddiaton robbers in those mountains. So so that could have that nickname right Gadiaton Canyon because of if it's close to Mantai.
SPEAKER_06I was gonna say, how do you know how close uh because they they use city names, uh Modena, or uh they they are going, they're traveling to Cedar, uh Cedar City, because they the calls are from Southern uh Utah University. Yeah, Southern Utah University SUU. Okay. Um and it's Modena. Modena.
SPEAKER_01Modena. Modena, Utah.
SPEAKER_06Utah. And specifically at the crossing of the uh railroad, the Union Pacific Railroad crossing. Okay, so I'm gonna do There's some other things in the story, and when we get to that point, I will kind of talk about you know some of the some of the the wording. Now that being said, I that doesn't mean I'm gonna dismiss the entire story outright.
SPEAKER_03Right.
SPEAKER_06Because I mean the the writer could have gotten the geography wrong, the um the person because there is a canyon that goes north of uh Medino, but that's not it's that's Elderberry Canyon. Okay, so which it could that that could be just like uh a colloquial name for uh Elderberry Canyon.
SPEAKER_01Okay, so from okay, let's see, is this Modino? From Modino, you you would have to go past Cedar City and go north to go up to Mantai. So no, so it would be in that area, right? Uh but again, that doesn't but it's all along Highway 15, so it could be, I mean, if all those canyons were considered, you know.
SPEAKER_06Yeah, and I could easily see the local name of canyons that is just not recorded online. I could see a local name, and also we have to remember that well, I haven't said it yet, but this this story uh takes place in 1972.
SPEAKER_01Okay, so things could change. Yeah, so it's down by hurricane, it's spelled hurricane, but they hurricane, yeah. Anyway, and St. George. St. George. St. George.
SPEAKER_06Um, but yeah, and and the article kind of uh starts out, it kind of goes out of its way to explain why the name of the Gadieton Canyon is so um so important to the the region of because you know a lot of members of the church of you know they they they know about the history of the Gadieton robbers and everything. I'm not gonna do that. I think it's interesting. If you are curious about that, I would say go look it up. I don't know if how much relevance it has to the story at hand. Um, and I actually barely even call out if they call the Gettyon Canyon encounter, I'm not really gonna mention the canyon name. Okay, because really, wherever they are, I was just saying it doesn't seem to matter necessarily. And you'll see what I mean by that. So um in May 1972, four women from Southern Utah University were driving back from a rodeo in uh Pioche, Nevada. I believe that's how it's pronounced. Okay. Uh either Pioche or Pioche. Uh one of them in the story she's referred to as Jana North, though the author makes it clear that her name was changed for privacy, was driving her dad's 1971 Chevrolet Nova. I didn't I didn't include this in my you know re rewriting of the of the story a little bit. Um, but they were trying we they were traveling back from the rodeo. It was about 10 o'clock at the night. They were trying to get home before curfew.
SPEAKER_01This is all desert. Yes. This is high desert, this is mountains, and this is unincorporated. This is empty, empty, empty.
SPEAKER_06Yeah, there's there's nothing for miles except, I mean, Modena is is the city, and they they you know, we we talk about that, but yeah, it's it's sand, bluffs, right, shrubs. I mean, it's is the kind of place that cactus. Yeah, you you don't wanna you don't want to go out and walk right on that right right. I think actually different different high desert, but um I think when we're in Nevada or Wyoming at some point, not Nevada, Wyoming, yeah, Wyoming or Nebraska at one point in time when we were traveling to Utah. I remember we got out and we came back, we had a bunch of like stickers on on our shoes.
SPEAKER_01Right, they were like sand stickers, yes.
SPEAKER_06Yes, you don't it's it's not a place that's very comfy for feet or tires. Right. Um but so they were trying they were traveling from this rodeo uh and they were trying to get back before curfew so that you know they would actually be let in. This is pretty strict. And when I was reading the story, I I laughed because I'm like, that is, I think, the the least controversial part of the story. You know, if you if you know when it comes to especially like college culture around Utah Utah and everything, that that's just it's like okay, that checks out. That that fully makes sense. Um, but also I don't even though they were like, even if it was 10 o'clock, I it's not I'm guessing they wouldn't have been able to make it back to Cedar City by the that point. Anyway, but um as they drove past the Union Pacific Railroad crossing in Medina, Utah, Janna noticed two sets of blacktop highway headed off into the desert. This is where the geography gets a little wonky. It says one going southeast, the other shooting northeast toward the canyon count uh country further north. The author talks about how they decided to take the one that goes northeast because they say that Cedar City, where SUU is, is also northeast. If you look at the map, that's not necessarily true. It's it's more just like east. Right. If anything, it's more southeast.
SPEAKER_00Okay.
SPEAKER_06Um again, that being said, I that doesn't mean that that doesn't mean the story is And this is before GPS.
SPEAKER_01Right.
SPEAKER_06Honestly, the girls could be wrong. Yeah. The girls could easily think that it's northeast and they just haven't. Exactly. Yeah, so it's I mean it's not it's not before maps, but not before maps, but before GPS. Yeah, like Google Maps and things like that. Yes, yes, yes, yes. Yeah, and so I they're they're college girls. I could easily see right.
SPEAKER_01I mean I'm saying which way? Well, let's go that way.
SPEAKER_06Yeah, the I think we're I think our city is northeast, so we should go, you know, even though it's actually southeast. Right. I could easily see that. Um so this is so I yeah, as as I talk about that, I what I'll say is this they decide to try the road they think is the shortest path. Right. I think that's fair. As they drove, the typical desert scenery was replaced by Red Rock Canyon. So this is near Zion's National Park, too. Yeah, so it's beautiful. Yeah. Soon Jana noticed the blacktop seemed to be reflecting the headlights uh a bit oddly. As she looked closer, she realized the blacktop they had been driving on was now white cement. Soon after she noticed that, her friend called out for her attention before Jenna realized the highway ended abruptly at a rocky cliff face. Jana stepped down hard stepped down hard on the on the brake pedal, fish tailing slightly. The Chevy screeched to a stop in front of the cliff. They turned the car around and began driving back down the desolate road. After about 10 minutes of this driving, they saw they were still hemmed in by the red canyon walls. They should have been back on open desert a while ago. Finally, the canyon gradually gave way to open country. But to their amazement, instead of moonlit desert, they saw grain fields on the right and a and a large lake with strands of ponderosa pine on the left. As they continued on, Jana spied a roadhouse on an adjacent parking lot. Sorry, and an adjacent parking lot. It seemed to have a neon sign, but she couldn't read it. What should have been letters were brightly lit squiggles and curly cues. Then some men came out of this building. They began to slow down to talk to the men, maybe ask for directions, since they seemed clearly lost.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_06However, one of the girls as they slowed down got a good look at them and let out a blood curdling scream before tell before telling Jana to keep driving, to step on it, hit the pedal to the metal, don't stop, go, go. Zooming by, Jana checked her rearview mirror and saw that these men were getting into vehicles and started, you know, they started chasing them. Following them, oh following them. But here's the interesting part about here's the interesting thing. The men had gotten into four odd automobiles that looked to be egg-shaped and mounted on tricycle wheels. Two lar two large wheels in the front and a smaller wheel in the back. A single bright white headlight shone from the front of each pursuing vehicle. They made a strange whirring or buzzing sound as they rolled along. Ahead, the road led back to a red rock canyon. Janny Jana's Chevy plunged into it at 80 miles an hour. The road was so narrow it seemed to hem them in. The Chevy's tires kicked up a billowing cloud of dust. They could no longer see their pursuers. Minutes later, they roared out of the canyon, back into the familiar desert. All at once, the road vanished. The headlights showed nothing but sagebrush and a catillo. The Chevy bucked and jostled like a wild bronch. Janet hit the brakes too late. The car skidded down an arroyo and came to rest at the bottom.
SPEAKER_01Shaking I think an arroyo is like a ditch.
SPEAKER_06Okay, yeah. Yeah.
SPEAKER_05It is river in Spanish. Oh for river. So okay.
SPEAKER_06Yeah, so like uh maybe, maybe then since it's in this context, I got a little or or uh the creek or something. Yeah, right, right, right. Um shaking uncontrollably, the girls emerged from the car. Miraculously, they were unhurt. The Chevy took the worst of it with three flat tires, numerous stings in the front bumper, and a missing hubcap.
SPEAKER_01Dad's gonna be pissed.
SPEAKER_06Actually, it mentions Janice saying, Dad's gonna kill us, but yeah. Uh the girls stayed with the car until sunrise. When they walked a couple of miles due south, uh, then they walked a couple of miles due south. They were finally glad when they found the familiar blacktop of Highway 56. An hour later, they flagged down a cruiser of the highway the the Utah Highway Patrol and told their story. Troop Vic Lunquist trooper, excuse me, Trooper Vic Lundquist, who investigated the case, noted several circumstances that were never adequately explained. One, there were no tire tracks showing where the Chevy had left uh Yeah, there were no tire tracks showing where the Chevy had left Highway 56 in Modena. Two, tire tracks from the wrecked Chevy extended only 200 yards back into the desert and then ended abruptly. Three, no one could explain how the Chevy had gotten nearly two miles north of Highway 56 without leaving any physical trace of its passage through the rough desert terrain. Four, the linchpin. Although volunteers searched diligently, no trace of the Chevy's right front front hubcap was ever found.
SPEAKER_01Ooh, it's on one of those little eggmobiles.
SPEAKER_06Yeah, yeah. I don't remember where I saw one of the comments somewhere I saw was mentioned like, yeah, there's a hubcap now in some museum on this other place where they're like, we don't know where this mysterious visitor came from. It's on a pedestal.
SPEAKER_01So did it say what what they saw, why the girl screamed?
SPEAKER_06So in I I I took out so the the author of the the original story that I was able to find this from, I tried to to reword some of it because it seemed a little bit there was a lot of putting words in people's mouths. Oh, okay. It seemed like, you know, uh a lot of um dialogue that I was like, it doesn't this I'm just gonna try to report what the the story is and I'll take a lot of the dialogue out because you know we weren't there, right? Um but essentially he said that this girl that had seen it, she was like shaking and crying, saying they weren't human, they weren't human, they weren't human. So she saw something, she saw something. She they were different. I I wasn't able to find any kind of physical description other than the fact that she what she saw just freaked her out. They were not human.
SPEAKER_01You know, one of the thoughts, and I I used to tease my kids about this. Um when when we've done car trips um to like Idaho and Utah, yeah, often we are we're traveling in bluff areas where there's mountains on either side of us, yes, with loose rocks. Yep. And I would dangerous. I said, you know, and I would say to my kids, if I saw a loose rock coming down at the car and I yelled, duck to all of you guys, you guys would say, why and die. They wouldn't automatically duck. Or where? Where or what? And so I'm very impressed that this girl screamed and said drive, and her girlfriend didn't say why. You know, she just did it.
SPEAKER_06And my guess is that there were already that that roadhouse already had some red flags, right?
SPEAKER_01You know, I mean it's uh squiggly lines, yeah.
SPEAKER_06The the language, the neon sign language that they couldn't, and so I think my guess is subconsciously, they all kind of knew something was wrong, and it was only when the girl got a good look and started screaming that's when they were like, Okay, that's uh that's a good excuse. I'm just gonna keep going.
SPEAKER_01I'm just gonna keep going. Wow. So although I have to say, getting out of the car and walking in the desert was not a good thing, they tell you not to do that.
SPEAKER_06But but this is before cell phones, this is before and and they were somehow in the middle of the desert.
SPEAKER_01In the middle of the desert. So and good for them for being able to find the highway. Yeah. And having that kind of compass kind of, yeah.
unknownYeah.
SPEAKER_06Wow. No, it could, I mean, also luckily it was at night. It's uh well, I guess no.
SPEAKER_01Because they waited till sunrise and then they walked.
SPEAKER_06But it was still early in the morning. It wasn't high noon. Yeah, yeah. So, but but yeah, so that's one of those stories where like I think there's there's enough. Obviously, it's gonna any of these stories that we we're gonna share, you know, it's easy to say, oh, they're making it up. It's fake, it's a it's a hoax. This is one of those I I'm gonna try to I'm gonna try to believe the the author or the the person who's telling the story, the the experiencer, the person who's experienced this stuff. And I'm assuming that they're these these girls went through what they experienced. And they spoiler alert, I'm yeah, you can already know they did not make it home by curfew.
SPEAKER_01Uh you could tell by the next, yeah.
SPEAKER_06Yeah, by the fact that they uh they stayed in the car overnight. Um they definitely didn't. I mean, uh, they probably were able to make it back home by curfew of the next day.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, once they yeah, dad was probably upset. Well, I mean, they just made up the whole story because dad was gonna be upset.
SPEAKER_06To explain why their their Chevy had just due to my Nova.
SPEAKER_01Exactly. It's like uh so we tried four-wheeling in the Nova and the desert, didn't work out, so we just said, Dad, it was aliens, really. There was like this highway that just appeared, honestly, dad. So, okay, cool story. Cool story. So there is a place in Liverpool called Bold Street, and um is it next to Italic Street? Oh, very good. Thank you, thank you. Yes, yes, it's a font pun. That's right.
SPEAKER_05Oh Ash is shaking his head. Yeah, it's like right next to Comic Sands.
SPEAKER_01And the New Times Roman and the Sans Serif. So, yes, okay, so this is what it says. If you ever find yourself strolling through Bold Street and casually through time, then you're not alone. Um, the bustling street of independent shops, bars, and restaurants is one of the prime spots in Liverpool for unexplained happenings. What is particularly fascinating about the reports from Bold Street is that they all occur around the same area and period of time. Numerous stories tell of experiencing a time slip transporting Bold Street visitors to the 1940s or the 50s. The paranormal phenomena surrounding Bold Street has been linked to the powerful electricity from Central Station. Not forgetting, Liverpool was built upon sandstone. Some suggest that the quartz from the sandstone could create a magnetic field affecting both time and your mind.
SPEAKER_06Oh. I thought you were going to time and space.
SPEAKER_01I know space would have been cool, but no, they didn't. So here's the first story. In 1996, husband and wife Frank and Carol were strolling along Bold Street when his wife went to browse at Waterstone's bookshop. Now, I get you get into a bookshop with somebody who's a book lover, you can leave them alone for hours. Yeah. So Frank knew that.
SPEAKER_06Yeah, that's that's a time anomaly. That's right.
SPEAKER_01That's right.
SPEAKER_06You for you, four hours will pass for them, 30 minutes, maybe.
SPEAKER_01I've only got looked through like three books. So Frank decided to visit another shop first and agreed then later to meet her inside. However, upon his return, he saw the name Crips above the door instead of Water Stones. Adding to his confusion, a van with the name Cardens sped past him along the road, honking an old-fashioned horn.
SPEAKER_06I don't that was a really bad uh impersonation of that.
SPEAKER_01Were you doing an elephant?
SPEAKER_06Look, look, I don't want to talk about it. Um You should have done the hard thing. I was I I it sounded a lot better in my head. Let me just say that. I know what it's supposed to sound like. My my brain and my mouth were not uh in sync. Yeah.
SPEAKER_01Okay. So um, upon further inspection of his surroundings, Frank discovered old vehicles and people wearing hats, macks, headscarves, and full skirts bait dating back to the war. Approaching the shop, Frank noticed a woman in modern clothes standing outside who looked just as confused as he was. The pair expressed their confusion, but found the building did appear to be water stones once they stepped inside.
SPEAKER_06Interesting. So it's just the the front of it.
SPEAKER_01Frank had worked as a police officer with a very logical view of the world, yet after this chilling experience, he never stopped talking about it.
SPEAKER_06So Frank was a Bobby.
SPEAKER_01So yes, he was. Yes, no, he was Frank. No, he was Bobby. I'm Bobby. No, I'm Frank. But he's a he was a trained observer, which makes it even so another account was of a thief in 2006. The story tells of a shoplifter whose name is Sean, who was running from a security guard down Bold Street. Upon turning a corner and entering uh the dead end street, Brooks Alley, that's the dead end street, Sean felt he had entered a time slip. Starting to panic, he ran to a newspaper stand in disbelief and found that the date read May 18th, 1976. So and what year was 2006 is when this happened. Interesting. The security guard later reported that Sean had disappeared entirely while he was chasing him.
SPEAKER_06Interesting. So, yeah. The the uh this anomaly kind of really helped the brother out. They're like, I'll hide you.
SPEAKER_01That's right, but then I'm spitting you back out because obviously we wouldn't know this story if if he hadn't. That's fair. That's fair. So another one concerns a young woman named Imogene who went shopping on or near Bold Street and stepped into a store that on paper should not have been there. Some reports suggest that this Bold Street time slip story dates to May 2011. The story goes that she went into a mother care branch. So it I'm assuming it has children's clothing and pregnancy clothing and that kind of thing. Um, it's on the corner of Lord Street and Whitechapel to buy presents for her sister's new baby and was surprised at how cheap everything was. Wouldn't that be great? Let's transport and buy those things. She took her basket to the counter and attempted to pay with her debit card, but was told that the shop didn't take cards. Slightly miffed, but not frightened anyway, she put the stuff back and left. When she told her mother what had happened, her mother was baffled and insisted that the shop Imogene described had closed years earlier and that a bank, actually by chance, the bank where her mother's banking account was held, was there now. In a mild state of disbelief, Imogene took her mother back to check, and sure enough, there was a bank on that corner. So um a final one, this is a student. Um, and this happened again in 2006. So 2006 is kind of in yeah.
SPEAKER_06That's when everything weird was happening in 2006. So which I mean it's 2026 right now. Right. So maybe it's I mean, that'd be a 20-year thing. Yeah, or or 10, yeah. I mean, it could be every every six, every decade.
SPEAKER_01Well, because yes, Frank and Carol are 1996. Oh. And then this is 2006, another 2006. Now, this the there it says the one, the imaging one says some reports suggest. So we don't know if it was really 2011 or not.
SPEAKER_06Hmm. Hmm. Could be every 10 years. 2016. No, probably not. I feel like 2011 and 2016 are far enough apart that, yeah, probably a little too far away.
SPEAKER_01Who knows? Anyway, uh Jane, a student who was meeting a friend at Liverpool Central Station around 3 p.m. She was running a few minutes late. So as she was walking up Bold Street, she called a friend to let her know. Mid-conversation, roughly halfway up the street, the call suddenly dropped. And she realized something in her surroundings had shifted. Jane Jane assumed she had walked into a period drama film set because people nearby were dressed in Victorian clothing. She later described seeing horses and carriages, mud and straw on the street, and oil lamps. One version of the story reported that she spoke to shopkeepers and passers by who seemed unfazed by her appearance.
SPEAKER_06I was gonna say, yeah, she's she would be uh probably in jeans and very scandalous. Yes. What are you wearing pants for?
SPEAKER_01I know, right? Uh another reported that she didn't interact with anyone. So there's different versions of the story. She's alleged to have said that the whole thing probably lasted about a minute. And then she found herself back on the same spot in Bold Street. She met her friend, but she was confused and felt dizzy. Hmm. So that's interesting. So Bold Street, very interesting.
SPEAKER_06I mean, that is that sounds like that's a common not just Bold Street, because it sounds like one of one of those area right. You you mentioned one of the places on Whitechapel and uh Lorde, I think.
SPEAKER_01Yes, yep.
SPEAKER_06Uh so which you know, obviously those neither of those are Bold Street, but it's close. Right. It's that area in Liverpool. Right. Um that that is fascinating. And I I think it's interesting that it's it's it's those particular, it seems like it's it's not it seems to always go back to a similar time period. It's not going back any further. Right, right. Um to like medieval times or anything, it's all Victorian era.
SPEAKER_01Well, and I guess the war, uh uh, you know, yeah. I guess.
SPEAKER_06It's Victorian area or the or the 1950s.
SPEAKER_01Yes, yeah, the World War II kind of, yeah.
SPEAKER_06Yeah, was it forties forties, cause yeah, because it says the great the war.
SPEAKER_01The war to end all wars, right?
SPEAKER_06Which is the first world war, not the second, but the second one is the one that England really suffered the most from. Um so yeah, so I think if it was the war, then it probably is World War I. So it was yeah, nineteen forties, I think. 1930s or 40s, because that would be anyway.
SPEAKER_01No, World War I was like 1910. Well, it was 1910. Let's say 10.
SPEAKER_05Yeah, it was 1910s. It was 1914 to 1919.
SPEAKER_06But but World War, but that would be so after the first that the Great War, the the war, because I don't think World War II technically started until what 1940s, 1950s, 40s, 40s?
SPEAKER_05Hitler invaded Germany in 1939.
SPEAKER_06I was very wrong. Okay. Well, I mean, it's almost 40, so I'm I I'm still wrong though. Okay. So then yeah, it would be it'd have to be then early 30s.
SPEAKER_01So it's after the after World War II.
SPEAKER_0620s or 30s, somewhere on there. So that's still that's fascinating. Did I just say Hitler invaded Germany? You did.
SPEAKER_01You did, but we didn't even catch it. Yes. I mean, Hitler invaded somebody.
SPEAKER_06He invaded Germany's minds.
SPEAKER_01Oh, well, let's use that.
SPEAKER_06Yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_01He uh Ash still knows everything.
SPEAKER_06Yep, he's still the normal channel. Yeah, that was actually uh Ash's uh secret twin brother Jack, uh who doesn't know Jack.
SPEAKER_05He's not very good at knowing himself. What was the other guy? Burnt Tobacco.
SPEAKER_01Oh yes, yes, that was great.
SPEAKER_06Um so I'm I've got another England times. I'm sorry. I so uh the other few different ones that I have, they're uh I've got a few different from England, and then yeah, anyway, it there's some fascinating ones. Um I'm just trying to find the Okay, here it is. Um so this one is a little bit different than than yours. Obviously, it's not in Liverpool. Um it's actually in uh Aveberry, yeah, the Aveberry Village. Okay. Uh and it's titled the Aveberry Village Fair Time Slip. So um so Ave Ave, it's kind of like it's a smaller area. I guess it's very well known for its giant rocks, huge like monolith style rocks. Um so it was a rainy October evening in 1916. So this is a little bit okay a little bit older. Um, and Edith uh where I got this from spelled it uh Olivier, maybe O L I V I E R. Or it could be Oliver. I don't know if it was a if it myth type.
SPEAKER_01It's like Olivier or Oliver.
SPEAKER_06Or Oliver. It could be either either or. I don't know if it's a myth type. We're we're gonna go with what they said uh Olivier.
SPEAKER_01Okay.
SPEAKER_06Um uh Edith Olivier was looking for an inn. Um she decided to leave the main road to find somewhere to rest and found herself in an avenue that had two gigantic upright stones, making her realize that she was in Avebury, which is apparent, like I said, known for their large stones. Uh she made it closer. Now, I gotta say, uh let me let me pause here. I think it's 1916. I could be wrong. That also might have been a mistype, whether from me or from the the website.
SPEAKER_01Okay, so it could be 61.
SPEAKER_06Right, or it could be 19 some other okay. I'm I'm gonna quickly just to just to double check, okay. I'm just gonna quickly type in the Avery um because I don't want to be wrong.
SPEAKER_01Okay.
SPEAKER_06Uh Avery fair. There we go. It knows. According to the blog that I I I I will I will credit the blog. Uh it's Mystical Times blog. That's where I got the majority of the information. Um yeah, so they say 1916. So 1916. Yeah, yeah. Um so yeah, she left the main road to find somewhere to rest. Um she learned that it was Aveberry because of the giant stones. Uh as she made it closer to the center of Aveberry, she decided to to stop and I guess take a closer look at the iconic stones. I say pull over. I might have been misinterpreting the words. Um let me just double check real quick to see if they ever mention a car. Because I thought car, but I guess I didn't realize it was 1916 as I was writing this. Uh no, she says car, pull her car over and look at the stones. Okay. So she's driving a car. Um, yeah. That works. It's just an old timey car. Right. So I'll shift it.
SPEAKER_01In my mind, it was like uh It's not the Nova that crashed in the dome.
SPEAKER_06No, and it's not like uh a like uh uh Toyota Corolla that I had in my mind. Uh yeah. So she pulls over her car uh and she gets out to to get a closer look at these iconic stones that she'd only that she'd never been able to see in person, but she had seen in in a lot of pictures. Uh as she stood on the high banks, she spotted some little villages near uh sorry, little cottages nearby. And that's when she noticed what appeared to be a large crowd of people attending a fair in between the stones. She looked closer to find that no one attending the fair was wearing outer jackets despite the rain. And everyone appeared to be having a great time despite it.
SPEAKER_01Wow.
SPEAKER_06As the rainfall got heavier, she decided to leave and wasn't able to properly visit Aveberry again until about nine years later. On this return visit, she got a guidebook for Avery and decided to do a bit of research about the fair she encountered. To her amazement, she read that the last time Aveberry had a fair was in 1850.
SPEAKER_01Ooh, on a nice, bright, sunny day, probably.
SPEAKER_06Well, she told a local guide about her experience nine years earlier, and the local guide corrected her, saying, No, no, you couldn't have done that. You know, that that classic thing like that. No, they're there haven't telling you the same information. There have been any fairs since 1850.
SPEAKER_01Right.
SPEAKER_06A bit annoyed, as anyone would be, about, you know, your experience is wrong. Right. Uh, she continued to describe her adventure. She described the roads and the giant megaliths, only to be told that the particular avenue she was describing had actually disappeared before 1800.
SPEAKER_01Whoa.
SPEAKER_06So she was She was on a different road in a different place, and she observed a fair from a long time ago that she was just able to walk away from. She's like, Oh, that's cool. I it's getting wet now. I gotta go back. I gotta go to my car. Wow. Yep. So I think that is one of the more dramatic. Well, I don't know if it's dramatic, she just saw something out of time.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. Yeah. You know, and how often could we be seeing something out of time and we just don't realize that we're seeing something out of time? It's just like, oh, that's cool, and we just go.
SPEAKER_06We don't have many uh stories of these in the Midwest, but I wonder if that's just because a lot of like in the Midwest is just cornfields and it's been cornfields for you know years. And so it's just like, ah, look at that. That cornfield was from the 1950s, it's also from the 2000s.
SPEAKER_01That's right. Corn pretty much looks like corn. So I've got one, it's just a little short one. So you can be looking for your next one while I do my little short one. It was a few days before Christmas 2000. My friend, her granddaughter, and I were traveling by car to do some shopping. It was dark out, and we were driving on a winding suburban road. As we went around a curve, there was a car coming in the opposite direction when there was a bright flash of light that we all had to look away from. It was so bright. When we looked ahead again, we were on an entirely different road that we would have had to turn around, drive back two miles from where we were to get there. We had been on a state road, and now we were on an old country road with no traffic. Everyone was scared and confused to say the least. So we went home. Was it time travel, Guardian Angels? We heard on the news the next day that a drunk driver crashed in the area we had been at. Were we saved by an unknown force? I truly do not understand, but I'll never forget it either. And that was by it was a Reddit thing from Sunnybirt.
SPEAKER_06So that's that is crazy. I mean, that's also that that does seem like a whether it whether it is just a time anomaly, that a great coincidence that like saved their lives. Right. That's a that's amazing. I uh I was able to find another one. Okay. Uh this one is uh France.
SPEAKER_01Oh, I love that.
SPEAKER_06Uh France in October 1979. I will say this one's gonna have a couple of similar motifs to the the some of the stories in Liverpool. Okay, because everyone, doesn't matter what decade you are, everyone gets really excited about the idea of paying prices from the past.
SPEAKER_01I I totally, it's like deals. Yeah, exactly. What do you mean?
SPEAKER_06Yeah, okay. Uh two English couples, Len and Cynthia Gizby. I like that. Uh Gisby. Gisby. And Jeff or Jeff. It's the it's the it's the Jeff that's pronounced or that's spelled G-E-O-J-J. Jeff and Pauline Simpson had set out from Dover for a late season road trip. The plan was simple. Ferry across the channel, drive through France, and spend some time in northern Spain and enjoy a peaceful vacation. Ooh, lovely. I know. I look, I wish, I mean, yeah, I guess uh in the United States, something similar to that would be us going, you know, we're just gonna go to Wisconsin and then drive up to to Michigan.
SPEAKER_00Probably.
SPEAKER_06Because it's about the same distance. Or Indiana. Let's go to Indiana. Yeah. Um and so so they it seemed to be just a normal peaceful vacation for a while. But then on the night of October 3rd, while driving north of uh Mont Montel.
SPEAKER_01That sounds I'll I'll take that.
SPEAKER_06Yeah, France. Uh the four travelers started looking for a place to stay. They were tired, it was late, and they eventually pulled into a motel near the freeway. Inside, they were greeted by a man wearing what they later remembered as a strange plume-colored uniform.
SPEAKER_01They told them he told plume. Not plum.
SPEAKER_06Uh it could be it could be plum. I'm looking at that. That's plum, actually. Okay. Uh P-L-U-M. That's plum. Uh plum-colored. Thank you for correcting me. I was also wondering, uh, plume doesn't have a color.
SPEAKER_01I was thinking, what uh because a plume, maybe it's gray because it's like uh well, because a plume is like it's like a feathery thing, right? Yeah.
SPEAKER_06Yeah. Yeah. So uh so plum, good. Uh plum-colored uniform purple uniform.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_06He know what what we're gonna say.
SPEAKER_05Yeah, she ran into Sergeant Pepper.
SPEAKER_06That's right. And then Miss Scarlet. Um that would be Professor Professor Plume. Yeah, Professor Plume. Professor Feather. He told them the motel is full, but he also said there was another hotel nearby. If they took a certain road off the freeway, he assured them they should be able to get rooms there. I mean, that right there sounds like, oh, the the motel is full. I mean, this is France, but the everyone else is English. I I can't do a French accent to save my life, so I'm gonna just go to the other uh Boris Carloft.
SPEAKER_01Like it's like, ooh, the hotel is full.
SPEAKER_06The hotel is full.
SPEAKER_01That's not Boris, but that's a good story.
SPEAKER_06I was going Dracula. You do like Pepi Le Pew.
SPEAKER_00That's right.
SPEAKER_06Which, I mean, Pepi Le Pew is scary for a whole other host of resources. That's right. Um anyway. Uh so they followed, they followed his directions, and almost immediately the road felt unusual. It was narrow, cobbled, and lined with own with old buildings. The kind of road that feels like it was built for wagons, not cars. Along the way, they noticed posters advertising a circus. But even those seemed strangely old-fashioned, not like retro in a cute way, more like they had somehow been left hanging there from another time. Eventually they found a building with a sign that simply said hotel. It was small, only two stories tall, and looked very old. But it was clean enough, and at that point, clean enough for them, that was that was fine. Some of the English travelers spoke French, and the hotel managers spoke no English, so the check-in process was mostly gestures and nods, but they managed to understand one another enough, and yes, there were rooms available. Once inside, the seat the place seemed even stranger. The furniture was heavy and wooden. There were no telephones, no elevators, nothing that most modern hotels would have. The rooms had large old bed with bolsters. Um, I'm gonna put this down here to stop confusing me.
SPEAKER_01Okay.
SPEAKER_06Um so yeah. The their rooms had large old beds with bolsters instead of pillows.
SPEAKER_01Oh, okay.
SPEAKER_06The doors had wooden catches instead of proper locks. The windows had shutters, but no glass. And the bathroom to them kind of looked like it belonged in a museum. This bathroom belongs in a museum. You belong in a museum. Nina Jones using a bathroom. Um, but the rooms were clean and the beds were comfortable. And honestly, after a long day of travel, the whole thing probably felt less like a warning sign than just, you know, one of those like, oh, we found this quaint old place. You know, it's great. So they decided to settle in. They they went to sleep.
SPEAKER_01I want to know how they paid for it. We'll get there. Oh, okay. Thank you.
SPEAKER_06Um that evening, yeah, because they pay at, I guess it in this one they they paid after they oh, okay. So they during checkout. During checkout. Uh that evening they were served a simple dinner: eggs, steak, potatoes, and lager. Lager, lager. Lager. Which is a beer. Okay. Thank you. Egg, steak, potatoes, and beer, which is also uh uh an American meal as well.
unknownBreakfast.
SPEAKER_06Yeah, yeah. That's that's an American breakfast. That's uh Wisconsin breakfast for sure. Uh no, you needed cheese in there. Uh that's fair. That's fair. Which also would make this more French. Uh gotta have that, those brats. Uh nothing fancy but satisfying. Then they went to bed and slept without incident. The next morning they came down for breakfast, which was jam and uh bread, jam, and coffee. Uh coffee so thick and strong they could barely drink it. Um and that's when they started noticing the other people. One woman sat nearby wearing what looked like a silt eve uh a silk evening gown, carrying a small dog under her arm. Then two French policemen came in wearing uniforms that looked oddly old, not like anything the travelers had ever ever seen anywhere else in France. The whole scene felt like they had walked onto the set of a period film. So naturally, they decided to take pictures. Jeff photographed Pauline near the windows. Len took a picture of Cynthia inside the hotel. Then Len took one more photograph of the hotel itself. Before leaving, Len and Jeff tried to ask the two policemen for directions back to the freeway, but the men seemed confused by what they meant. Eventually they understood that the couples were heading towards Spain and told them to take the old Avignon Road.
SPEAKER_01Okay.
SPEAKER_06That struck Len and Jeff as odd. That seemed like a roundabout route. So instead the group decided to retrace their path from the night before and get back out back to the freeway that way. Then Len went to pay the bill. And the total for four people, rooms, dinner, and breakfast came to 19 francs. Deal? Which is about at the at the time was about three US dollars. Len was sure there'd been a mistake. He tried to explain that he was paying for all four of them. Four people, two rooms, meals included, but the managers nodded. Yep.
unknownWow.
SPEAKER_0614 francs.
SPEAKER_01Wow.
SPEAKER_06Len even showed the bill to the two policemen, hoping they would clarify. They just smiled and confirmed. We that was the correct amount.
SPEAKER_01Oh, that was good.
SPEAKER_06Thank you. So Len paid. Okay. If you're gonna pull my like if you're gonna twist my arm, I guess I'll only pay you 19 francs. And I guess he had cash.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_06This is the 70s.
SPEAKER_01Oh, okay. So this is that card. Yeah. You still have cards in the 70s, you have credit cards.
SPEAKER_06But it wasn't as popular as now. I don't people do did carry a lot more cash. Yeah. Yeah.
SPEAKER_01Okay.
SPEAKER_06Um the so yeah, Salem paid and the four travelers drove away. The rest of the vacation was normal. They spent two pleasant weeks in Spain, and on their way back through France, they wanted to stop at that little hotel again. I mean, they they really liked it, and it was friggin' cheap. Yeah, I bet they saved a lot of money. Right. Uh they found the same road, the same cobblestones, the same old buildings, the same circus posters. Yeah, they they ended up in the right place. But the hotel wasn't there. It wasn't like it was abandoned. Uh, it didn't there wasn't like a an empty hotel room, right? Uh a hotel that it just where the hotel was was not there. It was gone. They drove up and down the road looking for it. There was nothing.
SPEAKER_01So there wasn't like a 7-Eleven in its place or something like that.
SPEAKER_06No, it was just gone. It it was it was uh California Hoteled. It was just non existent. Hotel California. That's that's what I meant. Um uh which is not I I did check that unfortunately is not based on a real thing, it's based on a lot of these kinds of ideas. But yeah, hotel cali uh Hotel California is not uh such a lovely place. It is a lovely place, uh such a pretty face. Um eventually. They went back to the motel near the freeway, the place where the man in the in the plum colored uniform had given them directions. But when they asked about the hotel, the employee there had no idea what they were talking about. No hotel down that road. Also, no employee was wearing a plum colored uniform. No memory of anyone ever sending travelers to such a place. Um so yeah, so it it kind of goes on. They they stay at the the normal place. Um let's see, yeah, they they tried to find if there was like any construction or anything, if there's anything here down, but there was nothing there. Uh and then also they they decided to stay at the motel, and that cost them 247 francs. Yeah. Which was a lot more appropriate for the time. Right. Um but here's the here's where the weird things here's where things get weird. Um for a while the couples tried to explain the whole thing away. Maybe they had taken the wrong road, maybe the language barrier had confused them, maybe they were tired and misremembered details, but then the vacation photos came back. The three pictures they had taken at the hotel should have been right there in the middle of the rolls of film, but they weren't. It's not even like they were blurred or overexposed, they they did not exist. No pictures were there.
SPEAKER_01That's weird.
SPEAKER_06According to the story, the rules still had the correct number of photographs. It wasn't as if part of the film had been ruined or cut out. Um, the hotel pictures just vanished. Like the ho just like the hotel itself. Yeah. Later, one of Len's friends who knew something about historical clothing reportedly told them that the strange police uniform sounded like the kind worn by French uh Gardans. Thank you. You're welcome. Yeah, in the early 1900s. From there, they kind of started to form a theory. Um, had they kind of had they stumbled into the past? Had they spent one night at a hotel that no longer existed? Um the story eventually reached the press in 1982, and after that it became one of the most famous time slip stories in paranormal circles. Um skeptics have offered more ordinary explanations, and believers point to to the details. The old road, the strange uniforms, the impossible price, the missing photographs, and the hotel that could not be found again. In eight 1985, Jeff Simpson reportedly told paranormal investigator Jenny Randles, you told us what the answer is. Sorry, you tell us what the answer is. Yeah. We only know what happened. Uh and that's kind of, you know.
SPEAKER_00That's cool.
SPEAKER_06That's where it is. Okay. So I would like to go to that vanished, I would like to pay three dollars for uh for a hotel room like that. Right. And get steak and eggs and and I would probably pass on the beer, right now.
SPEAKER_01And the coffee, but and the coffee.
SPEAKER_06Uh yeah. I would hope that they have uh they don't have energy drinks back in the day. No, they did not. Sadly.
SPEAKER_01Okay, so this is um this is a Reddit post. I believe the fellow's name is Curither 2. It's from four years ago. And he said, When I drove an ambulance, we got a call. A dad had managed to set fire to the barbecue and get a faceful of flame. We acknowledged, got the time on our log sheet, which which was 1910, just darkening twilight, perfect to barbecue, and it felt like driving forever. My partner even checked his watch.
SPEAKER_06If it's twilight, does that mean they're driving in the liminal zone?
SPEAKER_01Oh, yeah, probably.
SPEAKER_06Yeah. Also the twilight zone. Twilight zone. Yeah.
unknownDo do do do do do.
SPEAKER_01So he pulled up, raced around back. The guy is just getting up. His hair is still smoking, the kids are screaming. My partner grabs him by the neck and faceplants him into the ice chest. This is not by the book, but pretty quick thinking.
SPEAKER_06So pause, rewind. So I I guess I missed. So something exploded in his face?
SPEAKER_01So he the the guy that's telling the story drives an ambulance.
SPEAKER_06Yes. They get a call. Gotcha. Okay.
SPEAKER_01They get a call that some dad managed to set fire to the barbecue and get a face full of flame.
SPEAKER_06Okay, yes. I do remember that. I just for some reason I heard it.
SPEAKER_01I were making fun of Twilight.
SPEAKER_06I I uh not Twilight Zone. Twilight and Twilight Zone are very one of them is is uh is a modern, not modern, but uh uh beautiful work of art, and the other one's Twilight.
SPEAKER_05So I mean the other one has shirtless werewolves.
SPEAKER_01Come on, and sparkling vampires.
SPEAKER_06That's true, that is true. Okay, I can't, I can't I can't compete with that.
SPEAKER_01So to repeat, um, for those people who are like Andrew, so he checked the log street, the log sheet, yeah, and the time is 1910, which is is like 710, because you just add that's okay. Yeah, and but it's it's a good time of it's 19 o'clock. It's 1910. So obviously they're rushing to get to this guy who has a face full of flame. Right, right. So they pull up, race around the back, the guy is just getting up, his hair is still smoking, and his kids are screaming. The partner grabs them by the neck and faceplants them into the ice chest.
SPEAKER_06Yeah, even though I don't think that would be good because if your face is like I mean, I guess it's trying to put on the fire, but like also if if a burn, if you put it into ice right away, it could blister.
SPEAKER_01Right. But I think they want to put out the okay, okay.
SPEAKER_06So that's a good thing then.
SPEAKER_01The paramedics arrive. So, okay, so he's not he drives an ambulance, but he's not a paramedic. So the paramedics arrive, um, and he says, I put us, I put us on the scene while packing him up. And okay, so they must call it in, and the dispatcher gives us 1908. So he calls it in, he says, Okay, we're on the scene and we're packing them up. And the dispatcher says, Okay, logged in time, 1908. Huh. Good thing, too. His airway was closing up fast. We intubated him, got oxygen going, headed out to the burn center at 1909. The hospital, eight minutes away, 1914. The man had lost some hair, inhaled some flame, gained some scar tissue, but had been sent home when we went by a few days later. The paramedics were at the desk arguing with dispatch about the times they'd been given. I added my times, and he insisted that the clock on the wall was right. The paramedic captain shrugged, said his guardian angel brought him in, bought him six minutes, and wrote that in the report.
SPEAKER_06I was as you're talking, I was doing the mental math too. Actually, not mental. I'll I'll be honest, I use fingers. I'm like, huh. That seems really close.
SPEAKER_01That's CC came by, everybody checked in with everybody, called it an act of God, and moved on. So they got the call at 9 10, but when they called in after packing him up, 1908. So they somehow traveled back in time as they not only not only traveled back in time two minutes, but more than that, because it gave them time to pack him up. Yeah, and call that they're they're they're heading to the hospital. And that was 1909 by the time and 1908.
SPEAKER_061908.
SPEAKER_01But yeah, they headed to the burn center. They were on the road at 1909. Again, they got the original call at 919.
SPEAKER_06That's wild.
SPEAKER_01And the hospital is eight minutes away, but they get there in 1914, which is only five minutes.
SPEAKER_06Right. And and four minutes from the original time they got this.
SPEAKER_01Exactly. Exactly. Jeez.
SPEAKER_06Yep. Wow. I imagine having a guardian angel with that level of uh time distortion.
SPEAKER_01I'm just gonna move this back. I'm just gonna move that clock back.
SPEAKER_06Stop time. Yes, rewind.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_06That's uh I have a few from Reddit, but before I do that, there's one from the list first, and I think it's really important that I read this because this is technically from where this episode is a bounce, like we used the back rooms as a bounce pad. Right. And so I have this. I I wrote this in here as the 2026 movie crossover.
SPEAKER_00Okay.
SPEAKER_06Uh yeah, the the movie crossover event you never expected. Wuthering Heights and the Backrooms. This story is about Wuthering Heights. It's it's Wuthering Heights adjacent, which is perfect for this episode because this episode is backrooms adjacent. So, and both movies came out in 2026. Um, in the summer of 1959, writes Richard Davis, the British actor Alan Helm was working in a theater in Bradford, not far from the famed Bronte village of Haworth. Before performances, Helm liked to walk on the moors, which inspired Kelly Kelly Bronte? Is that how you pronounce her name? Uh Kelly Bronte is Wuthering Heights. He had done his this walk many times in the past four years. One fine day he strode out, reaching the ruin known as Top Withins around lunchtime. Here he saw a man in a deer stalker hat with a shotgun. When the man disappeared, Helm went toward the ruin to look for him. On his way, he suddenly found himself looking down at a big Georgian farmhouse. He ran down, knocked on the door, and peered into the windows to see a table set for lunch. He could smell pigs and hear cattle. It's very easy to smell pigs. Oh, it's very easy to smell pigs.
SPEAKER_01Very unique smell, too.
SPEAKER_06Very, very ripe. But when he entered the barn, it was empty. Looking back up toward Top Withins, he found that it had vanished. He briefly saw the Deerstalker man once more, and now, badly spooked, more or less, ran back to Howorth. During this experience, Helmut checked his watch and found it stopped. At 145 PM. Just before the curtain just before the curtain, uh before curtain up, he checked it again, as of long habit, and saw that it was telling him the right time. 5 45. Although he had not rewound it. If you have ever been to Top Withins, do look at maps and images. The ruin is the only building in sight at this fa formidably remote spot.
SPEAKER_01Interesting.
SPEAKER_06So he saw a house that wasn't there. That wasn't there. And he stepped into a different time, basically. I mean, which is super cool.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, it's way cool. Different time and place. So I just want to read the story because the person uh Reddit name is so cool. Revenge of Kittenhead. I love that. That's yeah. So long story, but I will try and give the broad strokes. My dad and I were out walking one evening after dark in a suburban neighborhood when we saw a white house burning in the distance. Flames coming out of the upper floor dormers, clear as day. We jumped in our car and drove towards where the house was in case anyone needed help. But we couldn't find it. We drove up and down streets in every area where the house could have been, but found nothing. The next morning we went back and drove all over in the daylight, and we couldn't find the house anywhere. No White House with upper dormers, no house that had burned, nothing on the news. Very weird. My dad and I had seen the exact same thing, but how could there be no sign of it? The more we talked about it, the more we realized that something didn't seem right. There had been no sound. Burning houses make noise, and we were close enough to have heard it. But there was a strange, almost vacuum of sound, an eerie, unnatural silence. It's something many time slip experiences know experiencers note. We never got any resolution to what we experienced, but I never stopped thinking about it. It kind of drove me nuts. One day, years later, I decided to try and research it again in case I could turn something up. I searched the internet for the town and house fire, and the first result that popped up gave me chills. It was a news story on a fire that had destroyed a historic house in the town. The story had a picture of a white house with dormers on the second story, scorched all around the dormer windows as if flames had been shooting out, just as we had seen it. I immediately recognized it. This was the house. But this is where it gets really weird. The house was not located where we had seen the house burning. It was located a few blocks away in the opposite direction. But about 50 years earlier, the house had been moved to that location to make way for the construction of a new high school building. From the time it was built in the very ear early 1800s until the 1950s, it had sat exactly where we saw the burning house. So on the night we saw what we saw, the house hadn't yet burned and wouldn't burn for another seven years or so. I'm getting chills.
SPEAKER_06Me too.
SPEAKER_01So did we somehow have a weird combination of time slip and premonition? Like we saw the house in its original location, but simultaneously experience an event from the future. I have no explanation. Strangest thing that has ever happened to me. And I have experienced some weird things. And when they saw it burning, it hadn't burned yet. Right. That was the weird thing. So it was future, past, everything.
SPEAKER_06Speaking of future, I forgot that I had this one. I saw I do have Reddit stories, but please do this one. I want to do this one. It's uh Victor, Sir Victor Goddard's flight to the future.
SPEAKER_01Okay.
SPEAKER_06In his 1975, and I I I when I say that, I I wasn't making, I wasn't trying to mock this experience because I think it's an awesome experience. It's just like to the future. Just like a very common, you know. We shall go to the future. Anyway, in his 1975 book, Flight Towards Reality, Goddard recalls a flight he made in 1935 to Edinburgh, Scotland, and Andover, England. As he approached Edinburgh, his plane passed over a dilapidated airfield in Drem, Scotland. From Goddard's observations, the base had clearly been abandoned for some time. Vegetation had overtaken most of the area and cattle from a nearby farm had moved in. Thinking nothing more of it, Goddard continued his flight until he reached Edinburgh. A few days later, Goddard was due to return to Andover. Following the same flight path as before, he headed to the direction of Drem. However, before he reached the airfield, he flew into bad weather. Goddard described the storm as strange. Along with strong winds and torrential rain, the storm clouds were yellow. Disoriented and quickly losing control of his plane, he the experienced pilot climbed towards the clouds. Sorry, climbed the clouds. Either way is fine. Um, hoping to burst through into the clear sky. However, they appeared to have no end. It was at that moment that the storm clouds finally broke. Uh sorry, the storm clouds broke finally beneath him, and Goddard was able to see the ground again. Ahead of him was the Drem Airfield. Relieved to see a familiar sight, he left the storm behind him and flew into sun and clear skies. Yet, as Goddard got closer, he realized that Drem that the Drem Airfield was not so familiar after all. In fact, it was completely different. Far from being reclaimed by the surrounding nature, the Drem Airfield was alive with activity. Not only was it no longer abandoned, it looked pristine. Mechanics were bustling on the ground below, and four planes, each painted bright yellow, sat on the runway. Most strange, however, was how Goddard was unable to identify one of the planes. It was a monoplane, unlike any the air the Royal Air Force used. In addition to the strangeness of the yellow planes, Goddard was also surprised to see the mechanics dressed in blue overalls. To his knowledge, all RAF mechanics wore brown. Having little time to digest what he was saying, Goddard passed over the airfield at Drem and flew back into the storm. The clear skies and bright sun were replaced by the same torrential rain and yellow clouds as before. Once again he struggled to keep control of his plane. Eventually, he was able to wrestle free from the tempest and make it back safely to Andover. When he told his friends what he had seen during his flight, he was greeted with skepticism. The airfield at Drem had, after all, been vacated in 1919, and from 1933 had only seen occasional use from visiting squadrons. There was no possibility of there being any active being an active squadron with planes and mechanics at the airfield when Goddard made his flight in 1935. Four years after Goddard's peculiar experience, at Goddard's peculiar experience, in 1939, the overgrown airstrip at Drem was resurfaced, and the whole air for airfield transformed and reactivated, becoming home to number 13 Flying Training School. Not only that, the RAF began to paint their training planes yellow, and a new monoplane, the Miles M14 Magister, joined the roster. By that year, even the mechanics overalls had been updated to blue instead of brown. Goddard's vision had become a reality. After that, Sir Goddard developed a fascination with paranormal phenomena. He was certain he had visited the future during his flight in 1935.
SPEAKER_01That's way cool. I like that. I like the future thing. Or he paid to have it all done.
SPEAKER_06So it's it was an elaborate hoax. He came through the field and he's like, ah, I can't be made a fool of. That's right. I'm gonna pay all the top people.
SPEAKER_01We're gonna do what reactivate what I saw.
SPEAKER_06He he it he was the one that restarted the war. It was him.
SPEAKER_01Okay. So we're gonna sometime do a whole podcast on Missing 411, but I wanted to add this Missing 411 case to um the whole time slip. I don't know, portal. I don't I I'll tell you the story and you guys can decide.
SPEAKER_06We can let's do the time warp again.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. There we go. Let's do the time warp again. This is the Keith Parkins case. A story from the Missing 411 books involved a two-year-old boy named Keith Parkins. It happened in April 1852 while his family was visiting his grandparents' cattle ranch near Ritter, Oregon. Um, Keith was playing outside near a barn with his older brothers around midday. His mother called the boys in for lunch. When the family looked around, Keith was gone. They noticed his absence right away and started searching. The area had snow on the ground that morning and the terrain was rough with brush and canyons. Park rangers, volunteers, and local people joined a big search. They followed tiny footprints for a short distance, but the tracks simply stopped. There was no sign of animals or anything else that could explain what happened. The search went on for hours with no results. Nineteen hours later, searchers found Keith alive about twelve miles away in a brush-filled canyon. He was lying on the frozen ground and in bad shape. The little boy had traveled a long distance over hard country in a very short time. Experts who know the outdoors have tried walking the same route and found it extremely difficult, even for adults.
SPEAKER_06Yeah, if not impossible.
SPEAKER_01Yes. When Keith was able to speak, he only said something about a cat that had scratched him. He had no clear memory of how he got so far. Or what happened during those hours? His condition was listed as critical at first, but he recovered. The case still raises the same questions. How did a two-year-old cover that kind of ground so fast? Why did the tracks end so suddenly? And why did the search miss him for so long in an area that was being checked?
SPEAKER_06And what the heck is the cat about? I know. Right?
SPEAKER_01That's I think that should be a question on the says this is one of the early examples that showed up in the missing 411 books. And it fits the pattern of very young children disappearing under conditions that do not add up.
SPEAKER_06Isn't this also I I think this story was also one of the ones in the movie documentary. It could be that we I think they this I don't know if this is the right one, but I know at least in that documentary, um, they interviewed the one of the the children that had shown up. They were able to find them. And you know, basically the guy was just like, I don't remember anything from it, but I lived like a normal life and everything. But he tried to recall whatever, but because there was another one.
SPEAKER_01I'm not saying it's aliens. But it's aliens.
SPEAKER_06I mean, I I don't I hope there's not cat aliens out there. That would be, you know.
SPEAKER_01You know what? Think about the gray aliens, the gray-faced aliens, you know, don't they kind of have that cat like looking?
SPEAKER_06I guess they kind of yeah.
SPEAKER_01And scratching them, it would be like a probe.
SPEAKER_06The anime kind of point to chin, big eyes.
SPEAKER_05Uh Ash, what what were you Well, I was gonna make a Disney reference to the cat from outer space. Oh, there you go.
SPEAKER_06There's also uh there's a whole there's like a science fiction story that actually uh one of the monsters in D D is based off of. I'm trying to remember there's a there's a uh some kind of beast monster in D D. Ash, do you do you know the the monster that I'm thinking of?
SPEAKER_05It's cat-like, yeah.
SPEAKER_06It's like it looks like uh uh a jaguar, but it's got two tails and it's got mental abilities. Oh that's something I'll have to look up. It's some kind of but but it's that's a monster that's based on a science fiction, so it's but but I still think it's interesting that you know it's a cat-like thing. Also, one of the other ones I don't remember exactly what to do for missing 401 thing, yeah, eventually, but there was another story where they were able to find the kid again in like a national park, but he said something about like the spider lady or something like that. Do you remember that? I could be misremembering. I just remember he said something that was completely wild that I was like, oh, oh no, but he seemed it's I guess apparently chill.
SPEAKER_01Well, I I know that there's a story um that happened several years ago about a little boy that um and I'm thinking he's in the three, four-year-old range. Sure. And he was in like along the Appalachian Trail, North Carolina, maybe at his grandparents' house, which was surrounded by woods. They were up in the and he disappeared and they searched and searched and searched. They found him three days later, and the temperatures had dropped in the mountains, and they thought for sure they would find it would be uh they'd find his remains rather than find it. Find him, he's fine. And he said that the bear took care of him.
SPEAKER_06That could be what I'm remembering, though I remember it being creepier because bear, I mean, at the very least, it's I I was thinking Bigfoot.
SPEAKER_01The way he described bear, it was I mean, still that's that's comforting. Well, it was it was like somebody took care of this little boy, gave him and he said the bear fed him berries, and I mean he meant blue. Ah the the bear necessity.
SPEAKER_06He meant Bill Murray. Bill Murray who uh played Baloo with right. Uh anyway.
SPEAKER_01Um I do have a I just want to do a time check.
SPEAKER_05One hour and eleven minutes plus the 35 we had before.
unknownSo we're at about a hundred.
SPEAKER_01Oh, okay. Okay. So that's maybe one or two more. One or two more, yeah.
SPEAKER_06Okay. So I I have another one. This is a reddit. This is a redd one. Uh it's called The Phantom Road, and it's from Zabivny, Zabovny, something like that. Um on R slash glitch in the matrix. Okay. Uh it says, okay, so this did not happen to me, but to my friend. I really like I would I really would like to hear if anyone has had similar experiences or has any interesting theories. So here it goes. The whole thing takes place in Poland. My friend was traveling with her mom back home from the countryside, uh, from the countryside camping place that they have visited several times before, also a week before. So they knew the road pretty well. There's a long stretch of road before the road joins the highway, but suddenly where the road normally goes straight, there was a narrow sandy path and woods behind it. And the road they were on turned right. They followed the road slightly confused. Apparently they were driving for a while, but there was no other cars, people, or houses, just fields and some trees here and there. Then they saw the highway they were supposed to get to, but it was parallel to the road they were on. There was no way to get to it because it was elevated behind the field and surrounded with noise canceling screens. There was no road leading to it. Oh, I okay, I'm guessing like road can't like walls or something like that.
SPEAKER_01Um like they have on the highways now, those white yeah, yeah, wow.
SPEAKER_06Yeah. Or whatever. Yeah. Um there was no road leading to it. At some point they noticed a man who looked like a farmer, so they stopped and asked for directions. He directed them further down the road, but it but it also ended at some point and turned into some narrow, excuse me, narrow, unpaved road that led them to a small roundabout where they finally managed to join the highway. Another strange thing was that when they thanked the man and moved, my friend looked behind and he was gone.
SPEAKER_00Ooh.
SPEAKER_06I love that. A mysterious stranger who helps, and then they turn around. And he's gone. And he's not there anymore. Where did he go?
SPEAKER_04He's on the top of your car.
SPEAKER_06He's all he's hitchhiking to get out of there. Uh she told her mom, but she also couldn't see him in the mirror. And there was only short grass there, so he couldn't hide or move fast enough to lose from the sight. He just disappeared. I love the idea of just he like they turn, and the moment they turn, he's like, like leaps somewhere. Or you know, like they like turn back around, they're like, We we can see you.
SPEAKER_04No, you can't.
SPEAKER_06No uh uh keep walking. It's it's curious and spooky. Um anyway. Now they both traveled there many times after this happened and tried to find the road or roundabout, but they never found any of it, and the road was normal as every time before. So there is no way to get to that highway from that camping site, and it is a rel and it is relatively short distance. So my question as a skeptic who looks for rational explanations is whether anyone experienced similar glitches. Sort of reminds me of one of those stories from Animatrix where the kids play at the haunted house. Is this a generated simulation that that just happened to glitch in a system? What do you think? And then he adds PS, forgot about one detail. They were using GPS that was telling them they were in the middle of a field and told them to turn back all the time they were on a phantom road. I mean, look, that's what GPS is for. If you if you've updated your GPS and you're on a road and it's like on a field and it's a weird road that you've never seen before, maybe listen to your GPS.
SPEAKER_01I mean, but and that was how I drove in my in the pilot for years and years. I knew if you as long as you keep it updated. If you're updating it, yeah.
SPEAKER_06Yeah, but I mean that's yeah, that's an interesting thing. They they got onto a road that just didn't make that wasn't there, didn't make any sense, and they met a man who was a farmer on this road near a highway, by the way, which is an odd place to have a farm.
SPEAKER_03Right.
SPEAKER_06Um, I guess he's a farmer, it doesn't mean his farm's there necessarily, but just like chilling there on the side of the road. Very interesting.
SPEAKER_01So we have been doing these, you know, people are traveling far, far away from their houses. Uh oh. So this is a close to your house line. Yes, the spookiest. It's close to home. This is by Forever Weary7154. Same from Reddit. He says, Once I was driving over to a friend's house for dinner who lived about a mile down a gravel road. I hit the gravel and drove for what felt like an exceedingly long time. While I was driving, I passed a young kid who had driven his car into a ditch in front of a house. He was on the cell talking to someone and didn't seem too distraught, so I kept going. Things started looking very unfamiliar. I decided that I must have accidentally missed the turn-in for my friend's driveway, so I turned around. I'd barely driven anywhere before I was back on the cement road. I turned around again thinking it was weird that not only did I make it back to the beginning of the road in such a short time, but I didn't see the house with the kid and his car either. So I made sure to look carefully for him going back again. And he was literally right off the road and his car was bright red. So it wouldn't be it would be pretty difficult to miss him. I found my friend's driveway this time with no problem. And I did pass the house with the ditch in front again, but now there was no kid and no car. There was absolutely zero chance that he got his car out of the ditch in that little of time. It was a deep ditch ditch, and he was really in there. He would have had to have been towed or pulled out by another vehicle, and I never even passed or saw another vehicle.
SPEAKER_06You would have also heard another vehicle on that small of a gravel road.
SPEAKER_01Exactly. When I finally got to the house, everyone was pissed at me for holding up dinner. I tried to explain to them what happened, but they just made fun of me. So all I could do in the end was apologize for being so late. I still have no idea what actually happened or what happened to that kid.
SPEAKER_06That is I yeah, that's interesting. Um it's the stories that are close to home. Like I said, those are the those are sometimes the spookiest. Yeah. Especially the ones that just have no good explanation.
SPEAKER_01Like what road did he turn into?
SPEAKER_06Yeah, yeah. I oh and if it sounds like there was no road that he could have turned, it's just going straight, you know. And it was it was the same ditch that he passed.
SPEAKER_01So he was on like this gr this, it sounds like the cement road and turns into this gravel road. Right. But it and that's the gravel road that's supposed to go to his friends, right? But it it wasn't. That road had changed.
SPEAKER_04That's cool.
SPEAKER_06That's cool.
SPEAKER_04He was teleported into another world. That's right.
SPEAKER_06So are we done? I think that was a good place to end it on. So if you've had any experiences uh similar to this, uh or any other experiences in general, uh, let us know. Uh share it with us either in the comments or uh reach out to us on our email, which is vftadic at gmail.com. That's for voices from theattic. Vftadic at gmail.com. We would love to get stories from you guys. We've already gotten a few from the comments. There's some very fascinating, interesting stories that you guys have experienced. Um we'd love reading those. It's like so cool. Yeah, they're they're a lot of fun. And you know, eventually we might uh we would I I think we would like to to do some videos with more of your own personal stories that you have. Um, but you know, either like I said, email us, comment to us, or you know, reach out to us through uh messenger pigeon. Uh I can't read smoke signals, so not that. That'd be a little difficult.
SPEAKER_01But um and they dissipate pretty quickly, so you lose the meaning.
SPEAKER_06Yeah, yeah. Yeah. Was that a dot or a dash? I have actually no idea how I'm swearing at us. Yeah. Ooh.
SPEAKER_01Whoa.
SPEAKER_06That's a big boy. Okay, wasp, which is also uh a horror of its own.
SPEAKER_01That's right.
SPEAKER_06I don't know if the uh the camera can probably see it now.
SPEAKER_01Jeez, hey, buddy, we're being dive bombed at the end of our thing. Anyway.
SPEAKER_06It's very rude. Um you're interrupting.
SPEAKER_01We might want to pause and do the ending in a minute after we kill this thing. Is there still a um fly slaughter right there? Uh so welcome back. We just had a terrifying experience with you know, that's a that's a problem with an old attic.
SPEAKER_06Well, and I I don't know if you heard. Um, I heard a couple times, and I think they're probably in the back attic.
SPEAKER_01Um as we've been recording, I've heard, you know, a little bit of a it's right out the window. It's a the tree's right out the window, the birds are right there.
SPEAKER_06No, no, no, no, no, no.
SPEAKER_01This is a bat. Oh, you heard a bat?
SPEAKER_06Yeah, which I unfortunately hear a decent amount up here.
SPEAKER_01But so yeah, uh, a murder was committed in the attic.
SPEAKER_06Um it was um it was defense. It was self-defense. It was self-defense. Uh he was trespassing and uh he's you know walking around with a with a weapon on his butt.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. So anyway, uh now that we're back and we're we're calmer and um and we got rid of the post murder. Post murder. Umscribe. Obviously, if you're a wasp, you are not gonna like us or subscribe to us.
SPEAKER_06If you if you get to this point, look, I I feel like you should be extra um inclined to subscribe because we just went through a traumatic event.
SPEAKER_01Um support. Yeah, yeah, please.
SPEAKER_06I need a subscriber shoulder to cry on it. Subscribe so I can cry and I can lean on your shoulder.
SPEAKER_01Thanks so much for being here with us and putting up with who we are.
SPEAKER_06I hope that it's happy. It's not a bug. I hope that's for the future. You know, it's uh our personalities are we're fun and quirky.
SPEAKER_01I think Red Skelton used to say something like, I hope I brought a little joy into your home today, or something like that.
SPEAKER_06So Except for us, it's we we hope we brought a little bit of chaos into your homes.
SPEAKER_01Or some giggles. Some giggles would be nice.
SPEAKER_06I'll take giggles. Yeah. I'll take giggles. Yeah.
SPEAKER_01So thanks. We had fun. Hope you did too.
SPEAKER_06Thanks for stopping by in our attic.
SPEAKER_01Bye. I want to look at the way someone.
