Hey everybody, welcome to Pro Wedding Guest, where we talk to people who get paid to go to weddings. Today we're here with DJ Josh. DJ Josh, why don't you introduce yourself and tell us why you get paid to go to so many weddings?
SPEAKER_01Yeah, so my name's Josh Staley, based in Columbus, Ohio. Uh I get paid to go to weddings because I'm really good at getting people hyped up and getting people having fun on the dance floor. And I'm kind of the person that you want alongside you on the wedding day, you know, to make sure that your guests have that unforgettable experience.
SPEAKER_03Hell yeah. Great answer. Good job.
SPEAKER_01Thank you. Thank you. I rehearsed it a lot in the mirror. You can tell it paid off. Yeah. Yeah.
SPEAKER_03I don't know. How many years have you been doing this for?
SPEAKER_01So I'm I'm on year 11 right now, which is just crazy. Like, I'm starting to feel like the old guy. You know, I'm 36 and like I'm having to work hard to keep up with all the trends, man. Like, you know, I don't these DJs who are like 50 and still do it, I'm like, I don't know how they do it.
SPEAKER_00How do they keep up at that point? They're all just I remember doing my first garter toss, and it was amazing.
SPEAKER_01Back in my days, yeah.
SPEAKER_00You know the Macarena.
SPEAKER_01No one knows how to do it. I'm not that old anymore. Not that old. Yeah, no, the Macarena was definitely dusty when I got there.
SPEAKER_00Perfect.
SPEAKER_01But yeah, no, I think it's I think it's the combination of having like young kids. I think I think maybe it gets easier on the other side of young children. My right now I have a five and two-year-old. So uh yeah, just kind of crazy times, but they are they are so much fun.
SPEAKER_03Awesome, awesome. I think you have a good question for him first off. Go ahead.
SPEAKER_00Do you think love is blind?
SPEAKER_01Um, wow, that is a loaded question. Um I think we have to say yes. I mean, Christine and Vic, right? Like we have to say absolutely love is blind because they before they even saw each other, and um I don't want to say like they never would have met in Columbus because it's a pretty like diverse place, but you know, I don't I don't I think it would have been tougher, um, just based on like the fact that she was out in the rural area and he was in the city, and like those worlds don't often collide very much. And like seeing seeing them just talk through conversation, but I I think the one distinction is I think they were both looking for the right thing, right? They were looking for a long-term relationship, they were looking for somebody who um vibed with them, who who matched with them, who would be a good compliment, um, while they agreed on the important things like you know, their faith, uh their what they want their lives to look like. Um, I felt like they both went in with uh the right attitude, but I have to tell you a story about that. Can I can I go on a tangent this early in the podcast? Is our day? Yeah, please, absolutely.
SPEAKER_00Yes, we like I said, we literally, I think I went to bed at like 3 a.m. because I was like, I'll I'll watch the rest of this later. I know how it ends. I couldn't stop watching it, so it is so fresh. Tell me anything and everything.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, yeah. So um I I have not told anyone this like publicly. Uh this is this is first time revealed here, but I freaked out. I freaked myself out because I did Amber and Jordan's wedding, which I remember because it happened. And then I did another wedding that did not happen, but I didn't, I didn't meet, I know who it is now, but a couple like like a month ago when the show was still like, you know, hadn't dropped the final episode yet. I was still, I was racking my brain, like, okay, who was the other wedding that I did, just based on the look and everything like that. And I started to kind of suspect that I did Christine and Vix. And I was like, but they didn't get married. And so then I looked, I remembered I made a graphic because I have a TV on the front of my DJ booth, and I made a graphic for each couple that I did, and I was like, I'm gonna go back and see if I can find the graphic. So I'm going back through, picking out content from Amber Jordan's wedding, and then I see it and it says uh C and V. And I was like, no. And I'm like, they're anchoring the whole show around them, like, and they're not gonna get married. Like, this is like, this is such a big deal. And like, I know this, and I'm like calling my wife, and I'm like, I have to tell you because I can't tell anybody else. Um, like it's about to go down, and then I remembered uh like after like two weeks later, I remembered, oh wait, I made a graphic for my other guy who did that, the Christine and Vic's wedding. And so then I was like, Oh, they are gonna get married. Oh my god, for two weeks I was just in full panic mode, like, no, and everyone's gonna find out and be so disappointed. Yeah, so but it it worked out.
SPEAKER_03Oh, then it totally got you then. Whatever editing rock, paper, scissors they were doing to try to trick everybody and what was going on, they totally got you. That's awesome, right? And you were there, right?
SPEAKER_01Yeah, I know, I know, but like I, you know, we didn't know anything about the couples on set. Like, we just I I knew the first time I went, their their names were A and J. That was their initial, and that's all I could know until they said they were getting married, and then they were like, Okay, it's Amber and Jordan. Here's the songs they want. They switched the songs like three times in an hour, and we're still trying to set up because like they told us the wedding wasn't gonna happen, and like, and they told us not to set up. They're like, just set up, you know, minimal stuff, and then you know, if it happens, we'll have plenty of time. And we were flying, dude, like for that hour. Like it was nuts. Like, this is so nerdy, but like the we were having to like set our microphone channels so that they didn't interfere with their microphone channels. So we were like reading off, like, all right, is yours on 4.375? No, mine's on 43.7812. Like we're just like, you know, yelling back, like it was just it was madness, but like in the best way, like it was so fun and challenging and definitely an experience I'll never forget.
SPEAKER_02Oh, absolutely. Yeah.
SPEAKER_00Speaking of, how did that come to fruition? The fact that you were asked to be a DJ for one of the potential weddings on Love is Blind.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, uh so I gotta give props to Angela at White Willow Meadows. Um, she's a rock star, and she kind of she kind of tipped me off that there was a Netflix show coming, wink wink, and they were gonna be filming um at their venue. And we worked there a lot. I had a really good relationship with Angela, and uh I I said, you know, like if they need somebody, let us know. And she goes, I'm absolutely gonna tell them about you. Um, and so like then nothing happens for like two months, right? And so, you know, I'm just going about normal life, not thinking a ton about it, but it keeps popping up in my head, like, wait, wasn't there this thing that was gonna happen? I wonder if they're gonna reach out, and then all of a sudden I get a text from a producer and she goes, Hi, I'm with the Ohio Singles Project. And I was like, I think I know what this is. Uh so we worked out all the details with them, you know, signed the NDA, all that stuff. And uh, you know, a couple weeks later, and it was literally like two weeks later, we were on set.
SPEAKER_00That's crazy.
SPEAKER_01Oh my god.
SPEAKER_00So they brought you in like really far along in the project. They didn't have you like in their back pocket while like the pods and stuff was happening. It was like, okay, we actually have couples that are getting married. We need a DJ. Get us Josh.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, well, and and so I don't think they knew yet. Uh, because I mean, as you saw, the season was kind of rocky.
SPEAKER_02It was a mess.
SPEAKER_01Like there was there was a lot of ups and downs, right? Uh, and so I don't think they knew because even even leading up to it, they were telling us, like, okay, it's gonna be 10 weddings. Okay, now it's gonna be six weddings. Yeah, now it's gonna be two weddings. Now it's gonna be six weddings, you know, like it was just a constant, like daily update. We were like betting the overunder, like it was it was fun. So uh yeah, they I don't think they knew. And so they they we kind of just worked out a rate for the week. Um, and they said it could be up to this many days. And the crazy part is we were having our 10-year anniversary party that year as a company. So, like the night that Christine and Vic were getting married, one of our guys was just like, because we couldn't say anything about it, he was just absent. And uh he was over there doing that, and like we're we're you know, we we're throwing this huge party in the center of Columbus on a rooftop, and like we're all just checking it, hey, how's it going? You know, like uh those of us that knew, because we couldn't even tell the whole team.
SPEAKER_03The whole team were you able to tell anybody in the company at all or it or anything else?
SPEAKER_01The the internal staff knew, and then the DJs that we needed to perform knew because we just didn't want to we didn't want to risk it getting out.
SPEAKER_03That's quite the secret to keep. I I don't I wouldn't be able to do it for sure.
SPEAKER_00That's why you have a life.
SPEAKER_01I'm a loud individual, and keeping me quiet about something for a year is not easy.
SPEAKER_00So, my main question for you is how different was this than a regular wedding that you normally DJ? I mean, I expect that you get to know your couple beforehand, get to know some of the ins and outs that you know, do play, do not play. How different was that with this couple?
SPEAKER_01Yeah, uh, very different, very different. Um, because like you said, I didn't really get to know them. So like I didn't have any backstory. I didn't have um, I didn't know how they got along in the pods. I did, I didn't, you know, knowing now that like Jordan said was playing to say no and then said yes because he didn't want to be that guy. Right. Um yeah, in the in the moment, like I did I could sense that night of like I my gut was telling me that was the case, but like you know, you have to treat it like another wedding. And then um, you know, as you're scrambling to get set up, like they're throwing, like I have an earpiece in my ear that no one can see that the the director can talk to me on. Um, I have a microphone under my shirt that again people can't see. And so if like somebody comes up and has a conversation with me, like I can't really be like, hey, we're live right now. Like I'm just assuming they know that. Um, but the the director, uh, so he comes to me and he's like, we're gonna do all the formalities up front, and then we're just gonna cut them loose and let him let them have a party. Um, you know, don't don't worry about getting people dancing. People don't normally dance, like it's not your fault, it's fine. And I'm like, challenge accepted, you know. Uh, and so like he goes, but we're gonna go in this order, we're not gonna deviate from this order. So I I got like literally two seconds to like shake hands with Amory Jordan and say hi. Um, I'm your DJ tonight. Isn't this crazy? And they're like, Yeah, this is so crazy. And so uh he's like, Go for introductions. And the order was supposed to be introductions, first dance, mother-son, father-daughter. Uh, at the thing, he's like, Listen, do not deviate from this order. This is the order we're going in. I'm like, yes, sir. Um, and so we get there and he goes, All right, introductions. And so I introduce him, which is what you hear in the show. Yes. And then he goes, All right, mother-son dance. And I was like, Don't you mean first dance? Like, we just had this conversation and you told me not to deviate. He doesn't respond. And so I'm just like, I guess it's the mother-son dance. Here we go. So I don't know if he misspoke or or what. I didn't get a chance to talk to him again, but like I I still kind of wonder to this day like, did he just say it a first dance or say mother-son and meant first dance?
SPEAKER_03Oh, that like I don't I don't know. Nerve wrapping it.
SPEAKER_01But yeah, uh and then there's there's parts where like they have to uh we have to drop the volume down super low on the dance floor so that they can do interviews.
SPEAKER_04Yes.
SPEAKER_01Uh in another room. So that that was hard and not like a typical wedding. Um, because it's, you know, it's hard to dance when the music's like super low.
SPEAKER_03Right.
SPEAKER_01Is there yeah, did that answer your question? I could I could go on this for a day.
SPEAKER_00You're doing great.
SPEAKER_01No, you're doing you're doing wonderful.
SPEAKER_00Uh no, like like I said, mind you, I just watched this last night. So this is like to me, this happened yesterday. This is so fresh. I'm like still reeling from everything. Really long time.
SPEAKER_01You know, all those candles that were for Amber and Jordan's wedding? Yes. Like the the very elaborate candle and floral setup.
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_01That was not there 45 minutes before they trot it.
SPEAKER_00Stop.
SPEAKER_01Was not there.
SPEAKER_00That's insane.
SPEAKER_01There was a table and a couple candles out there. That was it.
unknownOh my god.
SPEAKER_03We'll just CGI the rest. We'll we'll fix it in post.
SPEAKER_01Well, no, they just all of a sudden this army appears out of nowhere, and they set it all up, and it was just it was crazy.
SPEAKER_03I can't imagine because I've been on film sets before, and then obviously I've worked weddings for a couple years now. Um, I can't imagine the mix and the melding of a production set versus like the set that kind of goes along the scenes like behind the scenes for a wedding. There must have been so many different moving parts that you probably were looking at. Like, what does that person do? What is what does this person do? Was there anything that I don't know if you've ever been on a set before? Is there anything that like super surprised you while you were there?
SPEAKER_01Oh, that's a good question. Um, the only thing I've done similar is I've I've traveled with NBC Sports doing like their Here Comes Saturday Night commercial. Um, and so I I was the hype guy. Like I was it was my job to get the crowd up and going, play the music, um, play their theme song for when they needed the crowd to like chant it and stuff. And so like I'd I've been around shoots, but like a lot of those guys have cameras strapped to them. It's a mobile thing. Um, not like this. This, this, like almost everything's a camera blind, right? So, like, you know, you gotta have the boom arm coming over from this side. You got three cameras shooting from these positions. Uh, even even if you look at the the stage uh where they get married, the back of it where like there's like a lattice look, that's a camera blind. Uh, and so like they can shoot through that from the back. I I didn't ever see them use that angle, but there were definitely camera people back there. Uh I so surprising. Um, everybody was really friendly, but you could also tell, like, they've done this a million times, and there's no point in really getting to know each other because we're not gonna see each other again. Yeah. Yeah. Uh, but it was it was fun. Um, another funny story was there was a hand dryer. Uh, they don't have paper towels at White Willow Meadows, they have hand dryers. And every time they would yell quiet on the set, and then rolling action, somebody would hit the heck, the hand dryer. So the the audio guy and I got to know each other really well. And anytime that happened, we both just like die laughing. And so we finally uh I grabbed some white gaff tape and I put it on there, and he had a marker, and he's like, do not use while filming. But this is on day two, so like day one, the whole time, they'd be like, quiet on the set. Every time without fail. It was hilarious.
SPEAKER_00Oh my god, that's so funny. So I know that um Amber, right? Amber, yeah, I'm trying to keep all of them. I keep thinking of Emma, and it's also because Emma was the young daughter's name. Did they do anything special with her at the reception that we didn't get?
SPEAKER_01I actually didn't know about her, so um I'm trying to remember if I I think Amber might have done a dance with her at some point, but like I think I I remember her not being super present at the reception.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, that makes sense.
SPEAKER_01But I also didn't really know who she was at that point, so like I wouldn't have been looking for her, if that makes sense.
SPEAKER_00And also I'm super anti-kids at weddings, so that's fine.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_03Um so obviously, you know, we we have a problem sometimes where like we'll go film a wedding, and then before we deliver the film, the couple's already divorced, right? Like that happens to us sometimes, it happens to a lot of people that have like deliveries after. Obviously, you guys are kind of like the the knight of, and then like I'm sure you have some aftercare, but like other than that though, there's nothing deliverable for you.
SPEAKER_01Right.
SPEAKER_03In Amber and Jordan's case, obviously they didn't make it very long uh together. Um and I'm sure you've probably had other couples in the past that haven't made it very long together. Is there anything now because that their um because their relationship was so out in the open? What do you feel about that? Was there any signs during the day that you were like, maybe these guys won't last? Is there any signs at any wedding where you're like maybe these guys won't last?
SPEAKER_01Okay, so I I'll be honest, like I was I've been pretty oblivious to uh like other couples that have gotten divorced. Normally it's the ones that I think are are gonna get divorced that don't. And it's like there's I've had some couples with some weird dynamics, like uh, you know, like the guy is uh really like he he he wins the arguments by like pouting, and you're like, there's okay, that's pretty immature, like there's no way that's gonna last because she's like super high functioning, and but then you're like, wait, opposites maybe attract. I don't know, but they they're still together, you know. Uh it's the ones I don't see coming most of the time that like seem so happy and like have a great wedding. And then like two weeks later, they're like, Yeah, he was sleeping with the maid of honor.
SPEAKER_00Right? We're privy to that a lot of the time because we have a lot of our people mic'd up. So like they'll forget they're wearing mics.
SPEAKER_01Oh, so you get some you get some dirt. Yeah, we'll catch juice later.
SPEAKER_00All the time, or like we'll have like somebody come out of the bridal suite and we'll be like, Hey, can I get that microphone back? And they're like, I just spilled my guts to my maid of honor about something and now it's been recorded for forever.
SPEAKER_01We'll delete it for $17,000.
SPEAKER_00I know, right? Oh no, that stays there anytime we're feeling insecure about our marriage.
SPEAKER_03We get home and we pop popcorn, we pop wine, and we're like, let's listen to some junk, dude.
SPEAKER_01Dang. I never even thought about that. That's so true. That's so true. I okay, crazy story. This did not happen to me, but one of my good friends, um, they they were having trouble finding the groom, uh, and they were looking for him for pictures and they were searching everywhere, they couldn't find him, couldn't find him. Uh, all of a sudden they open like one of the the classrooms at the church where they were getting married, and he's in there like nursing on his mom.
SPEAKER_04I heard about this.
SPEAKER_01You heard it, yeah, yeah. This is like, yeah, I couldn't like I was squirming so bad listening to this story. I'm just like, this is so weird. Right. Yeah, they didn't get married.
SPEAKER_00So what? Yeah, no, he was just nervous.
SPEAKER_03That was the biggest plot twist ever. I did not know.
SPEAKER_01I know, and and he they're they're they acted like it was totally normal. Oh, this is just what he does to calm down. And I'm like, uh Yeah, right.
SPEAKER_00Could you imagine like being in a fight with your wife and just being like, I'm sorry, I need to call my mom. I need her for a minute. I'm upset.
SPEAKER_03Oh gosh, what the I am I am completely like. I know it's so disturbing, right?
SPEAKER_01It's so disturbing.
unknownOh my god.
SPEAKER_01Thankfully, we did you guys hear about the couple in like uh South, I think it was South Carolina that got married, and like they kind of suspected that the bride's family was part of the mafia, and the groom did something day of the wedding, and like the next day just disappeared.
SPEAKER_00Yes, yes, and has not been prompt. Yeah, oh no. You come to me on the day of my daughter's wedding and you snap the cake in a face.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, just to be clear, I was not present at any of these. I've just heard these stories from people that I trust and who are close to the situation.
SPEAKER_03Yes, and it's just like, oh gosh, oh my god, well I couldn't be messy, man. Weddings sometimes are the craziest. It's the it's the best industry because it's just it's so crazy all the time.
SPEAKER_01Well, and you never know what you're gonna get, right? Like you just never know what's gonna happen day of the wedding. Like, even on the ones you're just like, okay, I feel like this one's gonna be just baller to the nines, super full of love, and then like something crazy goes down, and you're just like, This is what's happening right now.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, we refer to it as wedding brain. Like all of a sudden there's a gas leak, and everybody has wedding brain, and grandma's like taking her dress off on a table, and you're like, All right, yeah, do I film this?
SPEAKER_01Yeah, or like I've seen grandma twerking on like one of the groomsmen, and like then they leave together, and I'm just like, What?
SPEAKER_00And we just have to we just have to be like, All right, we're gonna slow this one down.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, no, I just I I my my tact is just to pour more gasoline on it typically. But like at the end, I'm still surprised like when it actually I'm like, this is okay, all right.
SPEAKER_03I wouldn't be able to help myself if I had a microphone, being like, What's dad doing? He's acting crazy right, you know. Like I wouldn't be able to help myself, so I'm sure you have a lot of restraint.
SPEAKER_01Oh, yeah, and I mean we I could go on stories for days. I'm sure you guys could too. Um, no, so back to your question, like some signs they they did not, Amber and Jordan did not spend a ton of time together uh at the reception, like they were together when they had to be for the cameras, but then it was Amber was with her group, Jordan was his with his group, and that's not super uncommon, but it just didn't feel like and Jordan was also from what I remember relatively intoxicated. So that's it.
SPEAKER_00How how messed up were they during last year?
SPEAKER_01Uh she was she was good. Um, he he was definitely messed up. Um but like Yeah. Uh but I mean, super nice guy, you know what I mean? Like was never was never mean or rude or anything like that, but like you could tell it was a weird situation for everybody. And uh in his shoes, I don't I may have done the same thing. I don't know. Uh but yeah, they they did not spend a ton of time together, and then uh they just kind of they just kind of like left, and that was just kind of the end of it. Uh I did get people dancing though. Um, I was very proud of that. I had them gone for 45 minutes until they pulled the power on me because the uh the electrician uh hit his union mandated break. And so they just shut the they just shut the generators off without telling me. And uh I was I was maybe not the nicest person when that happened to this electrician, and I feel a little bit bad about it, but I was literally like, dude, what the heck, man? Like, like I have so much gear here that's expensive that we could have ruined, and also people are dancing, and we just shut everything off.
SPEAKER_00And they said we're gonna dance. I've accomplished something and you've ruined me.
SPEAKER_03They were sabotaging you for sure. They were like, get this, you know, get this guy, turn off his power. We said people don't dance at these, pull the power.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. Um, it wouldn't surprise me. Uh, there was a lot of so uh the producers and the directors, the producers are out walking around. The directors were in a trailer most of the night, um, calling shots and camera positions and everything like that from their trailer. So the only time they the director actually came out was for the reception, and that was that was when I met him. So, like it wouldn't surprise me if they went back to the trailer and were like, let's mess with people a little bit, let's do let's shut the power off, see what happens. I feel like that's the drama we would do.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, like more drama from people.
SPEAKER_03They seem a little too happy.
SPEAKER_00Let's give them the speaking of drama.
SPEAKER_01Uh, one of the one of the other really funny moments was like, I I don't know if it was Jordan's sister. She was somehow related to Jordan, but with no cameras around, comes back to the staging area where like. Like I am getting, I'm getting mic'd up. And like there's some other, like, you know, the audio director number two or whatever is back there. And she just storms in all dramatic and she's like, I have five children and I cannot be here this long. This is taking so long. I need to get home to them. And I'm just like looking around for a camera. No cameras. And they're like, okay, no problem, man. No, don't try to stop me. I must leave because I care for my children. And at this point, I'm just like laughing. Like, oh my God. She was totally like doing the like reality show. Like she had rehearsed this. This was her moment. And there were no cameras around whatsoever. No one was like a chance.
SPEAKER_00Oh my God. That is so funny.
SPEAKER_01It was great. It was great. But yeah, I the guess I felt bad for them because like they they were supposed to start the ceremony, I think, around three or four o'clock, but it didn't end up starting till like five or six. So like they're just in this holding area with like, you know, sparse food, sparse drinks, and you you can't move, right? You got to stay there. And then if you need to go to the bathroom, you have to be escorted by a by somebody uh to the room.
SPEAKER_03Just to use the hand dryer so you can mess with the shop. Exactly.
SPEAKER_01Just use the hand dryer at the most inopportune moment. Yes. Uh no, just to make sure you're like, don't go somewhere you're not supposed to, or like interact with them. You know what I mean?
SPEAKER_00Right. Get stuck in the pod somewhere. All of a sudden you end up in podland.
SPEAKER_01I suspect the pods are in LA.
SPEAKER_00Really?
SPEAKER_01I don't think they were in Ohio. Like, I think they were flying people back and forth because I think they have their main studio out there, and then they just do the weddings here.
SPEAKER_00Oh, but we film in LA.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. Um, that's what I suspect. I don't know that. I just I did not hear of those existing anywhere around here.
SPEAKER_00Gotcha. Gotcha. Gotcha.
SPEAKER_01But they could have been in a nondescript Amazon warehouse. Who knows?
SPEAKER_00I mean, honestly, we have no idea. They could have been in like the back rooms somewhere. Like the pods don't look real anyway. So now, my only other question for you was this was the only wedding like slated for that day, right? Like it was just Amber and Jordan. It's not like you guys were waiting around for like, you know, any of the other couples, right? It was just like their days.
SPEAKER_01It was one a day.
SPEAKER_00Cool.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, one a day. Gotcha. Um, yeah, and they they knew who was on what day and all that stuff. Um the other one that that I was there for that didn't get married was uh Alex and is it Anna?
SPEAKER_00Emma Emma.
SPEAKER_03Emma.
SPEAKER_01No, Emma.
SPEAKER_00No, it wasn't Emma.
SPEAKER_03Emma was like Oh my god, we just watched it. She's a blue little blonde chick. I can't remember where she is.
SPEAKER_00What the hell was her name?
SPEAKER_01Yeah, I can't remember.
SPEAKER_03This is her name popping up on the screen right there.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, yeah, we we've got it right here. Yeah. We do it all the time. You can go to Josh Daleyproductions.com to find out the name. Yeah. Um yeah. Uh but yeah, so I was there for for theirs, but like I didn't hear any of the roasting that happened because like they they're not there's no live audio in the room, and it's it's pretty big, and we're just where we were, like, I couldn't hear anything. So I was just watching the producers' reactions to to know what was about to happen.
SPEAKER_00That's um crazy.
SPEAKER_01But yeah, that was the other one. Oh my god. Avery?
SPEAKER_03No, you're I like I think it was Ashley.
SPEAKER_01Ashley. Ashley, yes. Thank you. There we go. Yeah, lots of it's hard to keep the names straight, man. It's hard to keep the names straight.
SPEAKER_00And all the dudes this season, almost all of them looked exactly the same. Like, I was like, at one point, I was like, oh my god, I love how Connor is. That's Chris. We don't like Chris. Chris is bad, right? Like, Chris sucks. Why does he look like Connor? And they both like Bree. Exactly. And they were both going after Bree.
SPEAKER_01Right.
SPEAKER_00God Right.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, I was like, I was like, Alex is really lucky that Chris was on this season because if he wasn't, Alex would have been the main villain. Yeah, right. Absolutely.
SPEAKER_00Oh, for sure. She got lucky. She got lucky. Oh my god.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, I was yelling at the TV every time Alex was on. I was like, wait, bro, do you play soccer? Wait, you're a goalie? What?
SPEAKER_00Oh my god. I and it sucked because like I really liked them in the beginning until the only thing he could talk about was I had so many knee surgeries, and I'm sad. And my mom moves around a lot, and I lived in Florida, and you can just slowly, slowly see the interest just being like, Yeah, he was a narcissist hardcore.
SPEAKER_01Oh, like hardcore narcissists for sure.
SPEAKER_03He was trying to pull like the whole Mr. Gray thing, like 50 shades of gray, but it wasn't working out. He just didn't have the suave. He wasn't like, yeah, he was way too tall. He was just tall.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, yeah. Yeah, and even when she like dressed him down, he was just still like just like okay. And I'm like, You're not even mad? Like, I would react to that. Like, yeah.
SPEAKER_03I thought it was so perfect that they asked him, and she was like, I'm answering for you.
SPEAKER_00I'm answering for you. Yeah, no, I don't.
SPEAKER_03Perfect. It was perfect.
unknownGod.
SPEAKER_03Yeah.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, that that really couldn't have gone better. And like, kudos to her, man. Like, she she has a good head on her shoulders. I think she knows she deserves better. Like, yeah. Oh, yeah. And the best part I will I will say though, the way they portray some of the characters is not 100% accurate. Of course. Of course. Yeah, I mean, like, they gave they gave Emma a pretty good pass, but like the my friends that were there at Emma's wedding, like, you know, people were talking about just how like mean she was that day. Like the spot where uh Mike is running up the stairs is because she just came to the front and yelled, get the f up here. We're talking right now. I told you I knew it.
SPEAKER_00I was like, there's no way that any man would be like, I'm gonna go talk to her. But I was like, no, she a hundred percent is throwing a fit. And they just oh yeah, I knew it. I knew it. Oh my god. Awesome. Especially she ended up with like her third pick anyway. Like that wasn't gonna work out. She was like, I really have a connection with like Connor, and he was like, I'm with Brie. And she's like, actually, I have a connection with Chris, and he's like, I'm going with Jess, and she was like Mike, and he was like, I want kids. Yeah, like I all right, let's try. I have the same facial hair as those guys, too, so like we can try to make it work.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, and they're not still together, right? No, no, okay.
SPEAKER_00Because they kind of they kind of made it seem like they were still kind of thinking about it, but I think that they're they were trying to like come across as like we're still like okay and friends for the reunion, so they didn't look as absolutely terrible as some of the other couples did.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. I felt I felt bad for Jordan and Amber though. Like I, you know, obviously was invested in their relationship, but like uh I was just like Jordan, you should have moved out there.
SPEAKER_00Like I know, like what what did you really have going for you? Like your house wasn't cool anyway. Like you said you were gonna be a stepdad, go live there. We'll be that.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, so yeah. But I I get it. It's just it's hard, and you know, it's easy to look in the outside and be like, this is what you should do. But when you're in it, it's hard. Like, I get it.
SPEAKER_00Like these are real people, and I feel like a lot of the time, like we watch it as if it's like the notebook, you know what I mean? Like it is somewhat scripted, but these are real people who will have to live with the real life consequences of what happens here, and that's why you know Amber had such a big reaction and stormed off the reunion set because she was just like, I'm done.
SPEAKER_01And he's just like honest honest thoughts on Kevon, though, or however you say it.
SPEAKER_00Kevon.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_00I I could not with him. Anytime he would like appear on screen, we were like, Go home.
SPEAKER_01Oh my god, make a choice, dude. I am can I'm convinced that his brain is not connected to his mouth.
SPEAKER_00Like, no, and how many times was he gonna say, You're an amazing girl, intelligent, and you are kind. Also, am I talking to Tyler or am I talking to Kia? Because I don't remember.
SPEAKER_03They were just like, Well, you gotta make a choice. And every time he was like, uh-huh. I don't know who I'm talking to. This yeah, crazy. Oh my god, dude. Grow up.
SPEAKER_01I was like, please get him off my TV. Like, I just know.
SPEAKER_00Like, he's wasting time. Also, I want to know who the hell is Priyanka? Like, why don't I get to know her? She's in the back of the state. Okay, okay. I can explain that one.
SPEAKER_01She was with a guy. I can explain that one. What the hell? So, so what I heard, again, I have no verifiable proof on this, but just being closer than most, right? I heard that there is another guy that made it through the pods, and it was he was with Priyanka, and then he just disappeared. So, like when they went on the vacation, he just didn't show up. And so they kind of cut him out of the entire season, but he's in the background. Like, there's a there's a guy in the background that we never really see interviews of.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, we kept calling him the ghost of the men's quarters because we're like, sometimes he's there.
SPEAKER_01So that's why that's like Priyanca is still there in some of the things, but like her guy, her guy ditched.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, that's crazy. He got mafiaed, he got yeah, struck out.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. No, because I remember I don't know if he's resurfaced or not, you know.
SPEAKER_00I remember what was his name? Devante? Was that his name? Yeah, Britney's Brittany's partner. At one point he was like, Yeah, I had 16 girlfriends, and I'm sitting there going, There was only like eight. Who are the other people? And we're like, Oh, there's Priya. And then I think at one point there was another girl. Like, they didn't show half of the the eligible pod people.
SPEAKER_01And the girl that like glued her eyes shut, like so we for the longest.
SPEAKER_03I thought that was Amber for the longest time, and I was just like, No, they just yeah, it was just some girl.
SPEAKER_01Both had some uh work done. Yeah.
SPEAKER_00My god, you're not wrong. Oh my god. Oh man.
SPEAKER_01Sorry, I hope this isn't sounding sexist. I just yeah.
SPEAKER_03Uh no, no, it's it's it it comes with trash TV and it's it's how they presented it, right? Yes, it just is it's it is how it is. We're talking about how it was presented, not right what it actually was. So gotcha.
SPEAKER_00Oh my god.
SPEAKER_03We'll move away from that for just a little bit because I know that you're married to somebody who is also in the wedding industry, right? Your wife is a photographer, correct?
SPEAKER_01She is, yeah. She uh we actually started at the same time, did our first wedding together, and launched from there. And uh we we used to work together more. Now we're both kind of at the top of like the price points for our our various disciplines. And so, like, if the couple wants the party, they're hiring me. If they want great photography, they're hiring her. And you know, there's not a lot of crossover just because like either you like you guys have seen it, like the couples either care about like a very picturesque wedding or they care about like just having a great party, right? Yeah, and so like we don't work together as much. We get to work together here in a couple weeks, though. We're we're pumped about that.
SPEAKER_00Oh I love that.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, cool. How'd you guys meet? Okay, so college. Um, I was a bit of a serial dater um and dated a lot of girls. And in the pods, yeah, I was in the pods a lot. Uh and then uh senior year, the last semester, I was just like, you know what? I'm just gonna graduate. Like, I'm just gonna put my head down. Like, I don't need to date, I don't need a girl. And it was right then when like we're in I'm in this choir that I have to be in because I'm a music major. And uh she stands up and starts singing a solo, and my buddy and I are like cutting up in the back row because like he didn't want to be there either. And uh all of a sudden we both like stopped and looked, and I just hit him. I was like, I'm gonna marry that girl. And then I did.
SPEAKER_00And you did, yeah.
SPEAKER_03Oh my god, that's a hard story.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, yeah, that's a short version. She I I then made no moves to make this happen, and then uh study the universe, hope it works. Yeah, I led I led the band that played with the choir, and so I had to stay around and like rehearse them after, but she would wait for me to go to dinner because we all went to dinner together after, and so there was an early group and a late group. She would she would wait outside the room for she said that she just didn't know anybody else, that was her thing, but I'm like, uh I think you were waiting for me. You thought I was cute. Yeah, I thought I was cute. You like my hair. Yeah, I adjusted beaver hair back then. I could flip it. No, you did not. I did.
SPEAKER_00That's amazing.
SPEAKER_01I did. Anytime a girl would like at me, I'd be like, I do music.
SPEAKER_00I'm in a band. No wonder.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_01I'm an artist. Yeah.
SPEAKER_03When did it move on for you? Like once you guys started dating and stuff. When did it move on for you? For like, oh wait, I was actually right. This is real. I'm probably gonna marry this girl.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. Uh it was, it was uh we we spent some time together, and then the cool thing, so I was a I was a music major, and so like I led I led music at churches, and the nice thing about that is you could you could ask somebody to come with you who sang under the guise of that, like we need a singer this week, right? And oh, by the way, you want to ride together, and we should probably get lunch on the way back, you know, because we're both hungry, you know. So you could do like a date without making it like official, right? And so I test test drove sounds so wrong, but I can't think of a better term. Like test drove a lot of uh, yeah. Um, invited a lot of people to to sing at the church just to see how things went. And it was good because like I found some girls that were like straight up crazy, uh, that I was like, I would not actually date you. Uh, and we only have to spend this afternoon together, which is great. Uh, but yeah, so just just like started to really fall in love with like her genuineness and just how she approached people, and like she's very empathic. Like, she she feels others' pain, which is like the farthest thing from me, right? I have like no feelings. Um, like, you know, I'm watching Love is Blind and like laughing at people's pain, and she's like watching it, going like, oh my gosh, I couldn't imagine. And so, like, we're just we're very opposite in that regard, which is is great. Uh, and starts just started to fall in love with that side of her. And you know, we just had a lot of fun, um, spent a lot of time together and got engaged about nine months later.
SPEAKER_00So, how'd you propose?
SPEAKER_01Uh Rocky Mountains cabin. Uh my family goes to my grandparents have a cabin resort up there, and we we went there every other year for Christmas, my entire childhood. So I invited her. Um, everybody else is at the the Good Friday, or sorry, not Good Friday, uh, Christmas Eve service uh at the little chapel up there. And so I just pulled her into one of the cabins and uh did a whole thing and like uh showed her showed like pictures of our relationship with like our funny text that we had I had saved, and then just popped the question and she said yes. And uh we actually got married in Ohio, uh even though neither one of us are from here. I'm from Kansas City, she's from Virginia. And uh we got married here and uh we we went to Illinois first, took a job there at a church, and then came back here, took a job at a church, and then started the DJ thing on the side, and uh then had to make a decision a couple years later like which one I wanted to do full time, and uh picked the DJ thing, and here we are. And uh no regrets, man. It's it's been quite a ride.
SPEAKER_03Yeah. That's so beautiful. That's really, really sweet.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, and she's she's rocking it in the photography world as well. Michelle Joy Photo.
SPEAKER_00That's the plug her, plug her, plug her. Hell yeah. So you had a game that you wanted to play really quick.
SPEAKER_03I did, I did. If you if you want to join us for a game. Yeah, real quick though, how did you guys meet? That's a good question.
SPEAKER_00Okay, well. So I was engaged to a guy that was not Bryce, and he was moving down to Florida to go to film school. Bryce was also attending that film school, and we ended up uh becoming very, very close. Like there was a whole bunch of us that became like a really close-knit friend group. And Bryce was actually supposed to be the best man at my wedding.
SPEAKER_01Okay, okay, hold on, back up. So so where where are we going from to Florida?
SPEAKER_00I lived in western Massachusetts. Bryce uh was originally from the Rochester, New York area.
SPEAKER_01Okay, cool. Okay, so both coming from relatively close area, right?
SPEAKER_00Yeah, it gets cold in the winter and kind of warm in the summer. So that's about it.
SPEAKER_01But you met do you met in New York or Massachusetts?
SPEAKER_00We met in Florida. You met in Florida, okay. We met in Florida.
SPEAKER_01You went down to visit your then at the time fiance. And we're me was meeting we're meeting Bryce. Okay.
SPEAKER_00Yes. And my fiance starts saying, like, well, I'm in college, I don't know like where I'm at. I should probably get on Tinder. Like, you should get on Tinder too, Manda, and you know, uh, see like we're right. So I'm like, he's looking for an out for whatever reason. I'm just gonna roll back and were you guys like high school sweethearts, like got engaged?
SPEAKER_01Yes, we did.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, we've been together for five years at that time. So, like, yeah, right before uh he moved down to Florida, I was like, if you want me to move with you, I need to know like I'm not just like moving down with you. Like, I want like some kind of commitment. He was like, I was already planning on proposing. My father's a jeweler, he went and got the ring from my dad and everything.
SPEAKER_01See, that's that's hard because like it's such a low commitment at that point. Cause like I don't even have to really pay my dad for the ring. Exactly. He didn't.
SPEAKER_00Uh so it was just like we went down there like more solid than just like being like, you know, boyfriend and girlfriend. I wanted it to just be a little bit tighter knit if I was moving my entire life away for the first time. I found out about all this. Um, I'm gonna go stay with Bryce because Bryce was single at the time, and everyone else was in relationships. I was like, I'm just gonna go hang out with Bryce. And uh like right then, we were like, Yeah, we're together. I was pregnant a month later. We were married three months after that.
SPEAKER_01Whoa, that was that escalated quickly.
SPEAKER_03We knew we knew it was it was so weird, very instant, and that was 10 years ago, so it's you know, 10 years strong.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, it stuck.
SPEAKER_03It uh results may vary, is what we say. Like, yeah, don't recommend it. Probably doesn't work out for a lot of people, but it worked out for us, so that you know that's how it works. Yeah, we met and how many kids now?
SPEAKER_00Two, two kids, two, two, okay, ten and seven.
SPEAKER_01Ten and seven, love it. Yep, which is insane.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, no, it was it was really funny because like we had like met each other's parents while we were still in like relationships with separate people. And then I remember one day calling my mom and being like, Hey, um my fiance and I broke up. I moved in with Bryce. Um, I'm pregnant. She's like, with I was like, it's Bryce's baby, we're good. And then he calls his mom and he's like, Hey, remember my friend Manda? Um, we're living together and she's pregnant. I proposed, um, we're in love. And they thought we were pranking them.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, they thought it wasn't real. They thought it wasn't real at all. And we had to be like, nah, it's it's real. It really is real. It's crazy. Yep.
SPEAKER_00I found out I was pregnant in like the beginning of October. We got married New Year's Eve that same year.
SPEAKER_01Nice. So kudos for kudos for sticking it out and like it's rough.
SPEAKER_00We went from living in a different state to moving, we moved to Connecticut right after you graduated, had a baby less than a month later, and we're like, what are we doing? Yeah. And it was like it was rough, but we were like, getting divorced is really expensive. We might as well just really push through this.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, it works, it worked out, yeah. Not only do we love each other, but we work together. So that's you know, that's how it works.
SPEAKER_01I'm a firm believer that love covers a multitude of sins. And like if you choose to love somebody and and make that choice, that that saves it's it's when you when you give yourself the out or the potential of getting out, and that that's when those those things start to appear like, I don't, I don't know if I can actually put up with that. I don't know if I could put up with that. But like we're all broken, we're all messed up, and like you know, it's it's that that choice of I'm gonna love you through that, and and hopefully that love is flowing both ways, because that's what makes a great relationship. And yeah, um, but I will I will say relationships are tough. And if you're just like, I am not happy with this person and you're not married to them, like get out now. Because like there's so many people out there, right? There's so many people out there, you're gonna meet somebody else, and why put yourself and them through that pain of like, let's let's keep this going and keep adding, you know, shrapnel to the grenade that's eventually gonna go off.
SPEAKER_00Yes, yeah, which we saw at the end of Love is Blind when people were just like, Yeah, no, I'm not doing it. This is the good tie-in.
SPEAKER_01That was a good that was a good pullback.
SPEAKER_00I'm trying really hard to keep it like relevant.
SPEAKER_01It was funny when excellent podcast hosting.
SPEAKER_00Oh my god, thank you. Yeah, I appreciate it. Pull up your your wedding songs, yeah, sure.
SPEAKER_01Oh no, okay, all right, let's do it.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, so we're gonna put I uh picked out a bunch of different categories um because you know you're a DJ, and I'm sure there are a lot of songs that you have heard 100, 200, 300 times. Um thousands, you know, while you're working. So um I figured what would be fun would be to blind rank them. And Manda doesn't know which songs these are. Obviously, you don't know what songs these are. Um I don't know. Do you know how a blind ranking works? Uh not really.
SPEAKER_00Okay, so it's one to ten, right, Bryce? Yeah.
SPEAKER_01So Do I need to cover my eyes?
SPEAKER_00No.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, turn off your camera.
SPEAKER_00We're in the pods right now. We can't see each other. Uh no, so uh there's gonna be 10 songs, and um, every single time Bryce names a song, we have to say where we think for us personally, where it falls on a scale of one to ten, not knowing what song is coming next. So like you can be like, okay, this song is like an absolute like banger, I'll put it at number one, but then like another one's coming. So you might not want to put it in the one place.
SPEAKER_01Do I have to do I am I allowed to change my rankings or are they are they locked in once I make it? It's locked in. Okay.
SPEAKER_03It's locked in. Unless you can really, really like make your case for why you should change it.
SPEAKER_01I'm not allowed to I didn't know who was in the next pod, Bryce.
SPEAKER_03I didn't know I wrote your name down wrong. I don't remember who you are. Wow, this is crazy. Um, the um first category is first dance songs. So I'll I'll read it out. We'll let you go first and then we'll let you read after if you want to, you know, I'll say what talk about it or whatever. But very first first dance song for a blind ranking is perfect by Ed Sheeran.
SPEAKER_01And these are at a 10.
SPEAKER_00Yes.
SPEAKER_01Okay, I'm gonna put that one at a solid seven.
SPEAKER_00I'm gonna put it at five.
SPEAKER_01I think that's one is the best, right?
SPEAKER_00One is the best, ten is the worst. I'll put it in a five because I feel like it's like it's a nice song, everybody knows it. It says a lot of like good things. I love you, you're perfect, we're married.
SPEAKER_03I feel like seven's pretty low for you. Is that just a personal preference for the song?
SPEAKER_01I think there's I think there's definitely better ones out there. Um, I will say if if you would have said perfect the duet with Beyonce, I do think that one goes a little bit higher on my rankings because it's the the male-female conversation, which I think is always cool during a first dance.
SPEAKER_03Got it, got it. Next one up is best. Assuming it's a straight couple. Represent. We love that. Uh next one is best part by Daniel Caesar.
SPEAKER_01I think that one's great. Uh, I would put I would put that one on a four.
unknownHow does that one go?
SPEAKER_02You're the best part. Oh you're the best part. I'm gonna put that at eight. You can put that at eight.
SPEAKER_00At eight. It's just it's I don't know. I like I like songs that make me really cry that touch me personally.
SPEAKER_03Oh, that one that one gets me every time.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, it's it's a feeler for sure. Um and I think it I don't think it's used as much as people think it is. Um, yeah, at least here in Ohio. And so like anytime somebody has a clever one that is is less used, I'm I'm all about it.
SPEAKER_03Got it. Hell yeah. Got it. Oh, I didn't I didn't catch what your rank was for that one.
SPEAKER_01Four. Four.
SPEAKER_03Four, got it. I'm just trying to keep track so you don't double count it. And then you said eight. Eight, got it.
unknownAll right.
SPEAKER_01So I've used four and seven. Okay.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, I know, right. I'm trying to keep track.
SPEAKER_03I'll I'll be better, I'll be better about it. Um we uh very next one is can't help falling in love with you. Um, and you can pick your favorite cover. It's if it's you know Haley or Ingrid or Elvis or whatever, yeah. You can pick your own.
SPEAKER_01I'm not a fan of the Ingrid one. I'm not.
SPEAKER_03Oh, that was our wedding salt! Oh no, dang it. Dang it. It's been fun.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, have a good day. Absolutely understand. Great talking to you guys. Uh uh, yeah. Uh, I'm gonna give the Haley version a three.
SPEAKER_00That's a gum commercial. That was a that was used for like tic-tacks or something. I I gotta put the Ingrid one at one. You that's a loaded one. You're cheating.
SPEAKER_03Oh, you could have picked like the Elvis one and put it lower or something.
SPEAKER_01I fell right first trap, too.
SPEAKER_00I know you were like, oh fucking Ingrid.
SPEAKER_01I walked right in. Like, shut the cage around me.
SPEAKER_03We had a couple. Um the mom wanted to dance with her new son-in-law, and she had them play Elvis' version of this song, and we were like, that is a weird choice to walk. Dance with your brand new son-in-law. With your brand new son-in-law. So it was a really fun four minutes.
SPEAKER_01I've also heard stories about weddings not going forward because groom is sleeping with mom. Yeah. Also, shout out to mother-in-law, not his mom.
SPEAKER_00Okay.
SPEAKER_04Okay, we never know.
SPEAKER_00Grooms are breastfeeding in in classrooms. Like, we never know what that's.
SPEAKER_01That's why I clarified, just to make sure. Yep. Thank you. Appreciate it.
SPEAKER_03Your next one.
SPEAKER_01Next one is Lover. Is she still producing? Okay, sorry, move on, move on.
SPEAKER_00I mean, I would assume so. Like, if you have like a constant like need, I feel like.
SPEAKER_03Oh my god. I keep picturing it. It's it's Alex from Love is Blind is the one that's doing it. Oh, yeah.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, no, I got I don't want that visual. I don't want that visual. That's why he has to travel around all over the world. Okay, all right.
SPEAKER_04Oh my god.
SPEAKER_03Uh next one up is Lover by Taylor Swift. Six?
SPEAKER_00Yeah, I'll put that at a solid. I'll put that at a six.
SPEAKER_03Got it.
SPEAKER_00It's just like it's there. It's good. Uh you you'll hear a lot of awwww for it, and it's relevant. I guess.
SPEAKER_03Yeah. I was looking at the list of it. I was just like, you know, I I I think we've heard this once.
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_03Maybe twice.
SPEAKER_00As a first dance song. We always hear it like later on in the day. But yeah.
SPEAKER_03Good slowdown song. Uh next up we got Beyond by Leon Bridges.
SPEAKER_01Ooh, two.
SPEAKER_03Really? That's a it's a great song.
SPEAKER_00Do I have a five right now?
SPEAKER_03No.
SPEAKER_00I'll put it in a five. Okay. I'll put it in a five. I'm really holding out for like, yep.
SPEAKER_01Leon Bridges, you just can't be the vocals. Like, fantastic. Yeah.
SPEAKER_03And it just it makes you, it makes you, it's like puppy love. It makes you feel like you're in high school again. You're like, God, I I love this person so much.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_03Uh next up we got All Yorin by uh Tyler Childs. Childers.
SPEAKER_00Which one is that?
SPEAKER_03Oh God. You want to sing for us?
SPEAKER_01Childers or Childers?
SPEAKER_03Childers. Childers, Childers.
SPEAKER_01I was like, have I been saying it wrong this entire time?
SPEAKER_00Alright, Mr. Stanley, how does it go?
SPEAKER_01Yeah, let's think about this. Nanda, why don't you go first?
SPEAKER_00I'm gonna put it at a nine. Just because I feel like there's gonna be ones that make me feel things more coming on. I'm putting it at a nine.
unknownOkay.
SPEAKER_00I don't have a 10.
SPEAKER_01Have I used my four yet? Yeah, I did use my four. I haven't used three, right?
SPEAKER_03Yeah, you have used three.
SPEAKER_01Okay. It should it should be higher, but I think I have to give it the the eight because I I can't give it the one.
SPEAKER_00Got it. Right where we're holding out.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. It's a good song, though. Yeah, it it should be above perfect.
SPEAKER_03Uh we got At Last. Elch James.
SPEAKER_00Oh, I love that song.
SPEAKER_0310.
SPEAKER_00No way, really?
SPEAKER_02Hot take.
SPEAKER_00It's kind of like a it's a cocktail hour song. Do you know what I mean? I feel like anytime I hear that song, I usually have a Dia Coke in my hand. Like I'm like, oh.
SPEAKER_01Have you heard the Beyonce version though?
SPEAKER_03Yeah.
SPEAKER_01Oh yeah. Yes. The Beyonce version's fire. Like I'm I'm a huge fan.
SPEAKER_03It seems like Beyonce seems to level up any song for you. It's two now. Queen Bay. Let's go. Girl. So we got Speechless by Dan and Shea.
SPEAKER_00Oh. What numbers have I used?
SPEAKER_01I have to use one then, right? Because we're at the end.
SPEAKER_03That no, we've um we've got this one and then two more after it.
SPEAKER_01Okay, so what numbers do I have left? That's a good question.
SPEAKER_00I wish like I had like a whiteboard. Because I'm like, we're both like, did I use two and a half?
SPEAKER_01You you've done uh seven, four, three, six. Just tell me what I haven't done because I cannot keep track of that second numbers.
SPEAKER_03Um you don't have nine? Yeah, you don't have nine, uh, five, or one.
SPEAKER_01Okay, and the song was at last what no, what was uh speechless? Yes. Nine.
SPEAKER_00Got it. It's a good song, but once again, I associate it with cake cutting.
SPEAKER_01Really?
SPEAKER_00Like it's it's one of those songs where it's just like, and now we're putting on a song that we haven't used yet, and it's neither fast nor slow. What numbers don't I have yet?
SPEAKER_01And I I think we can all agree, even though it's a breakup song, tequila is so much better. Yes. When I taste tequila. Do I have a or from the ground up? From the ground up, fantastic first dance song.
SPEAKER_00I'll give that one a seven.
SPEAKER_03Got it. You got it. You've got your um, let's see, you've got your one and your five left.
SPEAKER_01Okay.
SPEAKER_00Oh, you have such safe ones now. Who do I have left?
SPEAKER_03Wait a safe. Uh you have, let's see, five, eight, eight, one.
SPEAKER_01Six, five, the last one's gonna be a twist, either good or bad, though. I can't tell which one it's gonna be. Yeah.
SPEAKER_03Six, nine, ten. You've got four and your uh two left. Okay, all right, perfect. So number nine, we got a thousand years by Christina Perry.
SPEAKER_01I gotta go nine. Or wait, hold on. Five. I gotta go five.
SPEAKER_00I'm stuck with four and two. Yeah. I'm putting it at four. Just because like for me, it's it's it's the twilight song.
SPEAKER_01Like, it's just twilight and it's but turning page, uh the turning page song is better than from Twilight, in my opinion.
SPEAKER_00You're not wrong. I also like the song from Twilight, where it's Robert Pattinson being like, Here free here. I'd rather dance to that one. And then nobody knew it was him until like the fourth movie came out. They're like, wait, that was Robert Pattinson singing that song. God.
SPEAKER_01First kiss with my wife was to the third Twilight movie. We were watching it and made out on the couch.
SPEAKER_00Incredible. Yeah, that's the one where she kisses Jacob as well on top of a mountain. Yeah.
SPEAKER_03So are you Team Jacob then? That's what you're saying.
SPEAKER_01Uh no, I am actually uh I think I'm Team Edward. Yeah, I'm way more into the vampires.
SPEAKER_00I'm Team Bella's dad, Charlie.
SPEAKER_01Is it the mustache? Be honest.
SPEAKER_00Yes. The flannel. All right. What's our last one that I either have to that I have to put it to?
SPEAKER_03Yeah. And then this is this would be your number one is thinking out loud, Ed Sheeran.
SPEAKER_00Classic. Damn it. You got it to the double Ed Sheeran.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, yeah. Dang it. I knew there was gonna be a twist. All right, fine. It's still good.
SPEAKER_00It's evergreen.
SPEAKER_01Just don't play it if anybody has a disability. Yep. Has happened. Lots of videos. Yeah. Not not me. Not me, but it has happened.
SPEAKER_00I feel like I would absolutely love that if like a bride like busted her ankle during the rehearsal dinner and was like, we gotta change our song. Like I know that we had like Aerosmith, don't want to miss a thing, but I we need to do think it out loud because I have a cast now.
SPEAKER_01But what's been bad is like when when like the bride's in a wheelchair and has been her whole life, and then like they like not that they picked that song, but the DJ goes, okay, slow dance song. It's thinking out loud. When your legs don't everybody's just like, yeah, everyone's like, how unaware are you right now? Yeah.
SPEAKER_00Oh my god. Oh my god.
SPEAKER_03Incredible. All right, are we going on to we're gonna we're gonna go on to Millennial Bangers? Um and I'm gonna keep better track this time. Yes. Um, so I'm gonna I'm gonna write it down too.
SPEAKER_01I got my post-it notes here. Cool, got it.
SPEAKER_03Do you want to write it down too? Where's your phone?
SPEAKER_00I need a journal, like in the pods.
SPEAKER_03Go go for it.
SPEAKER_00Okay. All right.
SPEAKER_03Well, you're pulling that up. Yeah. Do you have a science for when you pick like slow songs during the night? Is there like a time when you when you are like, okay, this is a time, or is it like on the fly?
SPEAKER_01Uh I I typically have a spot uh where I will usually do it unless it just doesn't make sense. Um, and that spot is I'll usually play like five songs, get everybody on the floor, and then slow it down when like grandma and grandpa are still there, mom and dad are still there. Like, because I that's that's the generation that wants to slow dance typically. And so, like giving giving them that time. And then um I generally don't go back to it unless like the crowd's just not responding to like I'd rather play a sing-along um that everyone can stop dancing and belt out than go back to another slow dance, just because it's they're just not as fun as they used to be for a lot of people, yeah. Uh at least right now, they're kind of just out. One of my favorite things to do though at the end of the night is I will often say, like, I think you guys may have seen me do this, um, but I'll get on the mic and I'll say, I feel so bad about this, but I have not played enough slow dances tonight. Um, and at this point, everyone's looking at me like, Are you crazy, dude? We have 30 minutes left and you're playing hip hop. And I'm like, I just I feel so bad, guys. And I'm I'm I'm gonna play my favorite slow dance of all time right now. Like, you know, just bear with me. I know we have some people that just wanted to spend a little more time together. So grab that special someone, hit the dance floor. Again, this is my favorite slow dance of all time. And then I hit uh listen to these tracks on uh no hands, and like that's amazing.
SPEAKER_00That's good. I was expecting get low. Chaos and Sues. I was expecting get low with little John Ying.
SPEAKER_01I mean, you could you could put kind of any banger in there, but like, yeah, the the listen to these tracks like by Waka Flagga, that's yeah, it's a great job. And and that's not my original. I stole that from one of my buddies who does it out in uh Athens. Yeah.
SPEAKER_00No, I actually when we did um Brian and Betty's wedding with you, you had the bridal party come out on the dance floor, and then you were like, go grab someone, bring them out on the dance floor. Yeah. Now you go grab someone and bring them out, and it was insane. We have never had a DJ do that before. And we were like, This should be how it is.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, like it got the party started immediately. Was that your idea? Was that something they brought up to you?
SPEAKER_01No, so I we do that. That's one of our signature things. Uh back in the day, I was I was getting uh pitched by the knot and wedding wire to sign up. And the guy that was talking to me, he goes, You're a new DJ, right? And I was like, Yeah, and he goes, Listen, here's how you should start your dance floor. And he kind of gave me a version of it, and I was like, but what if it was the bridal party? And so then I tried it, and it's just it's been going ever since. And and like if you tell a couple about it ahead of time, they go, Oh, that's cheesy, I don't want to do that. But then when they experience it, they're like, That was super cool. And it got everybody out on the floor. And like, the best way to come to a dance floor is if someone comes and asks you to come out, someone that you you know it it feels honored, like you feel honored by somebody coming and saying, I want you to come with me right now. Um, like that's cool. It's way better than me being like, the dance floor's open, and then everyone's like, Are we dancing? Are we not? Are we dancing? Are we not?
SPEAKER_04Yeah.
SPEAKER_01Uh or or the you know, the group photo, which everybody can read that play from a mile away now because it's just so over. That's what everybody does.
SPEAKER_03Yes. Yeah. I'll take that over like a traditional dance too, uh, or a traditional dance, uh anniversary dance? Anniversary dance. Um because it always clears the floor out, like then there's just one, you know, older couple left, and maybe people bounce to go get food or a drink or something like that. Right. Then the dance floor starts and it's like, well, nobody's here anymore. You cleared the dance floor.
SPEAKER_01Right. And if you invite someone over to your house, like how long do they they feel obligated to stay for a bit? Yes. Right? Even if they don't want to be there. Uh and if you if they just versus if they just show up, like they can be there like five minutes. Hey, can I borrow your lawnmower? Cool. And then they're out. Uh, like when you invite someone over to your house, like they are obligated for at least two hours, I feel like. And so that's kind of what it is. If you invite somebody to the dance floor, like they're obligated for at least two songs, right? And so, like, starting with that energy, I think is way better. And I appreciate that you guys noticed that. I it it's amazing to me how long we've been doing that and how little it's caught on as far as like other companies stealing that from us. Um, because yeah, they just they don't. And like I get compliments on every wedding. And yeah, anyways, uh, that's a that's definitely a signature thing for my company.
SPEAKER_00Well, and I also absolutely loved it as a vendor who films things, and I can imagine photographers would love it too, because there reaches a point in the night where it's like, you know, I think that we've pretty much gotten everything we need, but I don't have any shots of the groom like getting down on the dance floor, you know. So we have to be like, hey, what song do you want us to go request? I need you to dance. And this the way you did it immediately got us all of that footage that we knew our couple really wanted was to see everybody dancing.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, we're and it was always like we make it a thing, like everybody that's involved in the day, right? We try to get a shot of them dancing at the end. So it's like a big montage of everybody that was was really, really involved in the day. And if they do something in a way that kills a dance floor really early on, and we can't get those shots, it stresses me out. I don't know about you, right? It stresses me the hell out because I'm I'm always like, I didn't get a shot of the bridesmaid that like came in at the last minute and bustled her dress when nobody knew else knew how to do it.
SPEAKER_00Like I wanted her shot dancing, but she wasn't on the dance floor, she was doing something else, and it's like and that's when I'm forced that's when I'm forced to go request the Cha Cha slide because I'm like, I have to go now recruit everybody and be like, I know you don't want to dance, but I need a shot of you dancing. It tells you what to do. All right, get on the floor.
SPEAKER_03Do you know like Cupid Shuffle, or do you know like what kind of joke?
SPEAKER_00Once again, it tells you what to do. Oh my god. All right, Bryce, let's let's get this going.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, sure, absolutely.
SPEAKER_01So this is millennial bangers.
SPEAKER_03This is millennial bangers.
SPEAKER_01And if you guys are this has been so fun, by the way, guys. Oh, awesome, perfect.
SPEAKER_03You're our inaugural because we're this is gonna be a part of the podcast, but it's also gonna be its own separate series where we we're calling you pro wedding guests because we get paid to go to weddings, right? Yeah. And um wait, you get paid?
SPEAKER_00You guys are getting paid?
unknownYeah.
SPEAKER_03Um, so you know, I I can't thank you enough for being our first guest on this.
SPEAKER_01Oh, honored to do it. Honored to do it.
SPEAKER_03All right, here we go. Spin that shit. We got number one. We got I Got a Feeling, Black Eyed Peace.
SPEAKER_01I'm gonna go seven again.
SPEAKER_00I'm gonna give it a solid five because I've seen grandmas and children get excited for this one. And I'm not gonna lie, you will always hear me scream Lyme at like the top of my lungs when this song comes on, no matter where I am.
SPEAKER_01Because like I'm not even Jewish.
SPEAKER_00No, I'm not. But it's like Lyme. Yep, I'll give it a five.
SPEAKER_01We're all Jewish when I got a feeling comes on. Yeah.
SPEAKER_03Yes. Uh next we got Party in the USA by Lesiris.
SPEAKER_01See, I'm gonna give that one a four. That one's still a banger.
SPEAKER_00I just hate how slow it is. Do you know what I mean? Like, I hate that like I feel like a lot of guys leave the dance floor for that one, so I'm gonna give it a seven.
SPEAKER_03It's a great one when you notice probably that there's like no girls out on the dance floor anymore, or like not as many. And he's like, put part in the USA on and they're they're there.
SPEAKER_01And I will say, for if there's any like newer DJs or DJs who are struggling to hold dance floors listening to this, if you don't have the girls, you will not have the guys.
SPEAKER_00Yes.
SPEAKER_01You gotta have the girls. And so, like, if you're if you're ever in doubt, like what do I need to be playing right now? You need to be playing to the girls in the room.
SPEAKER_00Let's go, girls. Right.
SPEAKER_0199% of the time. There there are those, there are those random weddings where the guys are a very strong presence, and you have to identify that. And you know, you can play to them as well, but in that situation, but that's like maybe one wedding every couple years, yeah.
SPEAKER_03All right, we got uh Yeah, Usher.
SPEAKER_01Oh so this one's fallen off pretty bad right now.
SPEAKER_04Has it? Oh yeah.
SPEAKER_01So I was just talking to one of my DJs the other day, and I'm like, this one is not getting anywhere near the same reaction, and I only play a snippet of it. Like I play the first verse, the chorus, the ludor rap, and a chorus, and I'm out. Um but it's still not getting, you know, I do a cool intro into it. Like I'll I'll word play it from uh Gold Digger by Kanye and like you know, mess with Usher, memes with Usher, and like bring that up into you know, drop yeah, but it just does not get the reaction that uh it used to get. And so like I'm actually considering like taking it off my list unless it's on the must-play list.
SPEAKER_00Say it's not 2007 anymore. Like it is it is a millennial banger, but what are you gonna give it, Josh?
SPEAKER_01I'm gonna give it a nine.
SPEAKER_00See, for me, I get excited for it. So I'm gonna give it a six. I'm gonna give it a six because if you hold her head steady, I'm a milk that cows.
SPEAKER_01We're gonna milk that cow. Yeah.
SPEAKER_03Oh man. Uh you already mentioned this one, but we got low, Flowrider. Flow rider.
SPEAKER_01Okay, so this is Flowrider. I still think that one's good. I'm giving that one five.
SPEAKER_03I'm gonna give that one a four. Good choice. Good choice. I've got it's it's always that song that like even the most reserved in themselves bride who's like pretty mousy or whatever, and then uh Lo comes on and they're like the first to drop it. They're the first in the city.
SPEAKER_01She's like, I got that apple bottom jeans. I have those apple bottom jeans.
SPEAKER_03This song's about me tonight.
SPEAKER_00So I don't know if you know. I think you I'm I'm like 95% sure you played that at Brian and Betty's wedding. And there was a family friend of ours there who was like nine months pregnant. And she was she was and she had the baby on the dance floor. She was trying, she was trying to break her water. She was probably she was literally, she was going so low that we are like, he's gonna fall out. And she had her hands up and was dropping so low. Everybody was like, it's coming out.
SPEAKER_01Can we insert a video of this from the wedding? Yes, yes, we have it. We've sent it to that. That was the night the the marshmallow mask was being passed around as well, right? Because I feel like it eventually got to me. Yes.
SPEAKER_00Oh my god, I forgot about that.
SPEAKER_01That was such a banger night, man. That was so fun.
SPEAKER_03Crazy night. Good party, definitely.
SPEAKER_01I wasn't expecting it either because like in the planning process, they were not reserved, but like not my typical, like, we're gonna have a rage. It was at Crimson Lane. Like, there's just nothing like Crimson Lane is an amazing venue, but like typically, like the weddings out there, they're good, they're great, but like I usually have my bangers in the city. Um and that was definitely a night that flipped the expectations on the head. And I was like, they all they all showed up.
SPEAKER_03It was awesome.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, and it's funny for us too because we all know them because all of our families have a timeshare in Florida for the same reason. So, like, these people, I only ever know them drunk in their bathing support.
SPEAKER_01What is this about you guys in Florida and connections?
SPEAKER_00I don't know. Honestly, but bringing it back. Yeah, no, but it's funny. Like, we showed up in like everybody's like in dresses and stuff, and I was like, I've never seen you with a shirt on in my life. Like, I've only ever seen you in bathing suits. This is weird for me. And now you're dancing, I don't know how to handle that.
SPEAKER_01Goodness. Oh my goodness.
unknownGod.
SPEAKER_03Where are we going to do?
SPEAKER_00What's next one? We're on our fifth one.
SPEAKER_03Oh, uh, Buffalo represent Mr. Brightside. Oh. Killers.
SPEAKER_01Oh, I do love this. This is a crowd favorite for me. It is falling off a bit at the moment. I'm gonna give it. What are you giving it, Amanda?
SPEAKER_00Cause of our boy, I gotta give it a three. I do. When it comes on around here, because it's like a huge Buffalo Bills thing, everybody charges the dance floor. It turns into like a really like dainty mosh pit. That's fun cost.
SPEAKER_03I don't know what that's like what song that is for you guys, but that that's the song.
SPEAKER_01Hang on swoopy. Yeah. Um or Welcome to the Jungle if you're in Cincinnati. Uh I I'm so I'm torn here because like it's it's my personal favorite. Like I love that song. And I'm scared the rest of them are gonna fall off and I'm gonna end up like in a having to put a thinking out loud as number one situation. So like I'm gonna claim the one on Mr. Bright's side. I'm gonna do that. No way.
SPEAKER_00No with a personal opinion.
SPEAKER_01I because like I can sleep with that at night. Like I can, I can, I'll be, I'll be good. Like I won't toss and turn. So got it.
SPEAKER_00Got it. It's just the price you pay.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. I've F with some Mr. Bright side. Yeah. It is my karaoke song as well. Is it? Really? Yes. But I fully realize it's not for everybody and it is overplayed at weddings.
SPEAKER_00Oh, for sure. But like I feel like a lot, like we say it's overplayed, I would say, probably because we're professional wedding guests. But like there's a lot of songs when we first started doing weddings that I was like, I only ever hear this song at weddings, you know? So like I can imagine, like, some people are like, I haven't heard this song in forever. And that's why like it calls them to the floor.
SPEAKER_03That was one of the catalysts for this podcast in general. Was we there was a a pretty prominent vendor podcast that shamed a bride for playing uh September.
SPEAKER_01September. Yeah. Yeah.
SPEAKER_03And I was like, what the people hear this song like six times a year when they're at a wedding. Just because you hear it a hundred times doesn't mean that everybody else does.
SPEAKER_01They did clarify and say that really what they meant is in the leadoff spot. Yes. That it was, and so like, yes, but you're right. It is that we definitely have a jaded view. I have heard clients talking about Mr. Brightside, though. And I think what happens to their point is when it's put in the same spot at every wedding. Like we're always ending with Mr. Brightside. Or and same thing with Don't Stop Believing. Like, that's what it was when I got in was everybody ended with Don't Stop Believing. And so that got hated on. And now that one's coming back just as a can you can you drop this like halfway through the night kind of thing. Um, and so like it's cyclical for sure. I think anytime you leave something in the exact same spot for too long, people are just like, it's not predictable.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, that's how I that's how I feel about uptown funk. Like anytime I hear uptown funk, you're like, dude, we immediately look at each other and we go, ladies and gentlemen, the dance floor is open.
SPEAKER_01Open. Yep. Yep. And I I mean I'm guilty of that too. Like, uh, I mash it with Ice Ice Baby, but it is it is fun and like it gets people going. Um, but I think there's better options for sure. Like, I've been I've been rocking with some forever by Chris Brown for a while now on as an opener. I just feel like it's just a fun, like it's it's mid-tempo. You're not really gonna play it at any other point in the night. And uh it's a nice ease in for people.
SPEAKER_00So nice, yeah.
SPEAKER_01That's what it is right now. It changes week to week, but there we go.
SPEAKER_03Season to season. I understand. Yeah, all right.
SPEAKER_01But yeah, I'm claiming the one on Mr. Bright side because it is a banger. That's kind of crazy, especially since Destiny is calling me.
SPEAKER_03There is uh there's there's five of them left, so it's kind of crazy. You're you're you're claiming the number one spot.
SPEAKER_01I don't trust you after thinking out loud, bro. Like I haven't trusted the trust has been broken.
SPEAKER_03Next up is fireball, pit bull. Okay.
SPEAKER_00Oh shit. That's taking my number one damn. Whoa.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, that's that song that like see, he's gonna hit us with hotel room service at the end. Yeah, that's what's gonna happen.
SPEAKER_00No, I get so excited when that song comes on. Like, it's just one of those hits. It hits hard. It hits so hard, and I feel like it always drops at like the best time. Like, no matter how tired you are, like you're you're dancing like crazy to that.
SPEAKER_03I suddenly got the energy.
SPEAKER_00Yes, like reinvigorated. I'm giving that one.
SPEAKER_03I got some more.
SPEAKER_00Let's go. I can do this. Bring it in, bring it in, bring it back.
SPEAKER_01Uh okay. I'm gonna put that one at a six. It is a banger.
SPEAKER_00It's so good.
SPEAKER_01It is it is not unexpected anymore, though. I don't say that. Oh no, it's not.
SPEAKER_00Like, I feel like it's like a requirement now. Like, people are expecting that one to come on. Like, my shoes are coming off for that song, though. Like that, that is the point in the night where I'm like, all right, shoes are coming off. I'm tucking my dress into my shorts. Let's go.
SPEAKER_03Uh next up we got, oh, did you you put it at number six six? Cool. Six works. Uh next up we got Hey Yah, Outcast.
SPEAKER_00Ten.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, ten.
SPEAKER_00Ten. I can't stand that song. Really? Not anymore. It I used to go to Catholic school, and that was like every dance we had. They were like, all right, it's time to get funky. And we were like, they're gonna put on something cool. And that was like as crazy as songs got was hey ya. And we were all just like, man, that's all there was.
SPEAKER_01What year did you graduate high school?
SPEAKER_002011.
SPEAKER_01Okay, well, I was eight, so you're you're good.
SPEAKER_00All right, all right, good.
SPEAKER_01Um yeah, no, I I feel your pain. And that was even old when I was in high school.
SPEAKER_00Yes, yes. So, yeah, no, that's a 10 for me. Or are you putting it?
SPEAKER_01Uh, I put it at 10 as well.
SPEAKER_03Oh my gosh, uh, that's a junker at number seven spot. We got um party rock anthem, LMFAO.
SPEAKER_01That one still hits. Um, so I mashed that one. Like, I'll let the du hit, and then I'll throw in Higher Love by Whitney and um stay. I think it's Zara Larson. Uh all you have to do is stay. Like just little clips of those, like over that intro, and then bring in the party rockers in the house dinner. It's so good. Yeah, it's just it's uh it's definitely like uh we're go like that's uh that's a 9:30, like we're taking the party to another level.
SPEAKER_00Yes, that's that's when like you notice like the flower girl has fallen asleep, the grandmas have left. We can all easily do the running man without hurting somebody.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, man. I'm gonna give that one, I'm gonna give that one the three. I'm gonna give that three spot.
SPEAKER_00That's getting the two for me. Wow. Yeah, no, it's good.
SPEAKER_01You can still be creative with it. Yeah, yes.
SPEAKER_00I feel like there's a lot of things you can you can go in and out of with for that, right? For sure.
SPEAKER_03And the drop, the drop is good every time.
SPEAKER_01So the drop is good, and you can miss the drop if you want to, because they do that, shake that, and then it pauses. And so like you could go right to hotel room service, bum, bump, bum, nah, nah, nah, nah. They just like catch everybody off guard. Like it's yeah, it's good.
SPEAKER_00All right. Hit us with your last one, Bryce. We got two more. Or two more. My bad, my bad. We got it.
SPEAKER_01I got an eight and a two.
SPEAKER_00Yep.
SPEAKER_03What do you got left?
SPEAKER_00I have hold on. I have a nine, and what number am I missing? Eight. I have nine and eight.
SPEAKER_01For those of you following along at home, if you could also shout out your numbers, that would be fantastic.
SPEAKER_00Put it in the comments.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_03Next up is, and you're gonna love this one. Uh, Crazy in Love, Beyonce.
SPEAKER_01Your girl. I love this one because this is the one I'll get I'll get couples behind the booth with a lot.
SPEAKER_03Uh oh, that's a good idea.
SPEAKER_01Dang. I'm gonna have to go eight though, but I I feel like this is a thinking all out situation again. I feel like I'm falling into a trap.
SPEAKER_00I'm I'm gonna give it my nine spot just because it's I'm I'm hoping that there's something a little bit better for the last one.
SPEAKER_03There's not.
SPEAKER_00No, what is it?
SPEAKER_03Uh last one's Uptown Funk.
SPEAKER_01No, it's good and okay, okay. You said I could switch it if I could make a really good case. And my case is I want to. I want to.
SPEAKER_00He's our guest, he's our guest. He came over and he's paid for more than, you know, he's not just taking our lawnmower. You have to let him switch.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, no, the two hours hasn't happened yet.
SPEAKER_01So crazy, crazy in love's gotta go too. Uh Epson Funk's gotta go eight.
SPEAKER_00Fortunately, I still had my nine spot left, so it's going at nine.
SPEAKER_01Bruno's new stuff, though. Pretty good. Like, definitely promising. Like, I was I was auditioning some some remixes of it yesterday, and I was like, okay, I could work that in here. I could work that in here. Like, there's some promise. He might be making a comeback.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, no, straight up.
SPEAKER_00Well, I don't think he's like jailed in Vegas anymore, right? Like, I think he's like out of his contract that he's not stuck in Vegas anymore.
SPEAKER_03All of his debts have been paid.
SPEAKER_00So he said something. He's like, I no longer owe the casino any money. I can leave when I want to.
SPEAKER_01That's nuts, man. Yeah, I remember seeing like the $300 tickets for like a uh 50-minute show, and I was just like, What is happening? Why is he here? This is where the backstreet boys are. Like, Bruno's still making music, man.
SPEAKER_00I hate when like people put on like somewhat slow backstreet boys songs. Like, we're like jamming out, like I said, like fireball comes on, and then you just hear, you are, and I'm like, no.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, no, you gotta say that one for the end. That's a that's an end.
SPEAKER_00That's a good end one. That is a very good one.
SPEAKER_01I did though have a bride uh that has seen the Backstreet Boys in Vegas no less than three times at the sphere. She's seen them on tour, and I did her wedding. And so she was like, I want all the Backstreet Boys songs. And it was like, okay, so let's let's be strategic. Which ones will people actually dance to? Uh okay, we picked those out. And then what were maybe like three that you're worried like no one will dance to, but you would still love to hear? And so uh one of them was uh one call. Um my god. Ahead of time, I mashed that one up with one call away by Charlie Pooh. So I'm only one. That's call away. Then just hit the chorus of it, right? And then after the chorus of the Backstreet Boys track, like, who's calling my phone? Who's calling the who's calling my phone? That's how you do it.
SPEAKER_00That's how you do it if you're gonna do it.
SPEAKER_01So like I was just sandwiched by two great tracks.
SPEAKER_00That's so perfect. See, that's if you're gonna do it, that's the way to do it.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, we always like whenever DJ tries to do a mix or like a word play or anything like that. Uh Man and I, once it happens, Man and I will look at each other and rank it out of five. We always go like yes, I love it too.
SPEAKER_00We'll be holding it.
SPEAKER_01You guys can come to my weddings anytime.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, hell yeah. Hell yeah.
SPEAKER_01Just hold it up in the back. I'll be like, fair fair, fair. Yeah.
SPEAKER_00That's like our favorite thing. They were like, sometimes something will happen and you'll see us from like across the dance floor just go five. Solid five.
SPEAKER_03Five out of five. You got you got a lot of fours and fives. I remember. Oh, for sure. I appreciate that. Oh, yeah.
SPEAKER_00I appreciate that. Oh my god, that was so fun. That was such a fun night.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, it was. It was. All right. Well, I think that probably wraps it up for us.
SPEAKER_00Um, so fun.
SPEAKER_01It was super fun, guys. I hope that you are at so many more of my weddings and maybe I can come work some weddings out there with you with you in New York. Like that would be that would be fun. So let's definitely do this again soon.
SPEAKER_03Absolutely. Sounds good to me.
SPEAKER_00Thank you so much for being a part of this and being uh in our inaugural episode of Professional Ledding Guests.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, and by the way, just so people know where to find the podcast, where how do we how do we locate it on Instagram?
SPEAKER_03Yeah, so uh we've got for better or worse pod, uh that's okay um on Instagram and TikTok, uh for better or worse podcast on YouTube. Um and we got an email for better or worse pod at gmail.com. Um if we if you anybody wants to send any like juicy Reddit stories or family drama or stuff that you know we can talk about. Um and go ahead, you shout out your stuff and your wife, do it again.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, yeah. Uh she's at Michelle Joy Photo, Michelle with two L's, and then I am DJ underscore Josh Daly, just like it says on the screen. And then my company is at Josh Daly Productions. Um, follow anywhere, shoot me a DM. Like I I will talk, I will rank songs with you all day long. So uh, or if you want some some uh love is blind, if you have a question, like why did they do this? I probably can't answer it, but hey, I'll take a stab at it. Let's go. I'll enjoy my 15 minutes of fame. Yeah. Um, yeah, awesome guys. Well, hey, thank you so much for letting me hang out. Like, this was this was great. Loved every minute of it.
SPEAKER_03Awesome. Awesome. We loved it. Thank you so much.
