In this laugh-out-loud episode of Lantern Hollow: Stories for Christian Kids, Dylan discovers what might be the silliest superpower of all—he can eat... well... just about anything!

It all begins on family pancake morning when Dylan wakes up hungrier than he's ever been. One stack of pancakes turns into two. Then waffles, bacon, fruit, cereal, and just about every breakfast food imaginable. Before long, Dylan imagines becoming Mr. Anything with a Bottomless Belly, gobbling up mountains of food and dreaming up hilarious inventions like robot fork arms, a spaghetti vacuum, and a pizza magnet.

But as his appetite grows bigger and bigger, Dylan begins to realize that having the power to do something doesn't always mean it's the best choice. With a little help from Dad, Mr. Anything learns an important lesson about gratitude, self-control, and enjoying God's good gifts with wisdom.

This fun-filled adventure is one of those stories for Christian kids that combines humor, imagination, and meaningful biblical values. Children will laugh at Dylan's outrageous appetite while learning that God gives us wonderful gifts—including food—and calls us to receive them with thankful hearts and self-control.

Deep in the woods, where the lanterns glow along quiet paths, there's a small place called Lantern Hollow. And that's where our story begins. Today's story is about a boy named Dylan. But around here he's known by another name, Mr. Anything. Because he can do, well, just about anything else. A series of fun stories for kids that spark the imagination, inspire resilience, and remind us of the good things that matter most. These are stories I first told to my own kids, and now telling them to you. Saturday mornings were pancake mornings. Everyone in the family knew it. Mom made pancakes, Dad cooked bacon. Miles sat in his high chair banging his spoon like he was conducting an orchestra. More Miles shouted. You haven't eaten anything yet, Dad laughed. More. Zoe climbed up into her chair. Pancake big. Ivy smiled. I only want one pancake. Everyone looked at her. One? Hattie asked. Maybe two, Ivy admitted. Then Dylan walked into the kitchen. His stomach growled. Not a little growl, but a gigantic Everyone stopped. Even the dog looked up. Dad blinked. Was that your stomach? Dylan nodded. I think so. It sounded hungry, Hattie observed. It sounded angry, Ivy whispered. Zoe giggled. Tummy roar. Mom handed Dylan a stack of pancakes. He ate them. All six of them. In about thirty seconds. Dad raised an eyebrow. Are you still hungry? Dylan nodded. A little. Mom gave him four more. Gone. Two waffles? Gone. Three bananas? Gone. Four pieces of bacon? Gone. One bowl of cereal? Gone. A yogurt gone. An apple gone. The entire family stared. Zoe's eyes got huge and scared. Dylan eat the house? No, Dylan laughed. Probably not. Omnom. But something strange was happening. Dylan was still hungry. Very hungry. His stomach rumbled again. What is happening? Ivy asked. I don't know, Dylan said. I feel like I could eat he looked around. Everything. Then Dad smiled. You're Mr. Anything. And maybe you can eat well just about anything. Dylan grinned. Sounds like Mr. Anything has another adventure. Omnom nom. Dylan's eyes widened. Of course. He closed his eyes, took a deep breath, and whispered, I'm Mr. Anything. Suddenly, everything changed. The kitchen transformed into a giant superhero headquarters. His cape fluttered. The refrigerator became as tall as a skyscraper. The pancakes became mountain-sized. His stomach made one enormous superhero sound. Mr. Anything had developed the bottomless belly. He could eat, well, just about anything. Not rocks, not shoes, and definitely not bugs, just food. Lots and lots of food. He ate pancakes, he ate waffles, he ate muffins, he ate toast, he ate oatmeal, he ate strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, blackberries. Dad reached for a piece of bacon. It disappeared. Hey! Dad laughed. Sorry. Gone. Zoe pointed dramatically. Dylan, eat breakfast. Then she pointed at the fruit bowl. Dylan, eat lunch. Then she looked at the refrigerator. Dylan, eat tomorrow. Omnom nom. The family decided they should probably go to the grocery store just in case. Inside the grocery store, things got even sillier. Dylan sampled the cheese cubes, then apple slices, then pretzels, then crackers, then tiny cups of yogurt, then grapes, then carrots, then another cheese cube. The sample lady blinked. Would you like another? Yes, please. Another? Yes, please. Another? Dad gently stepped in. I think that's enough samples, bud. As they walked through the store, Dylan imagined himself using giant robot fork arms. A spaghetti vacuum? A taco launcher? A pizza magnet? A donut catcher? A popcorn cannon. Every aisle became another food adventure. But then they reached the bakery. The smell of warm cookies floated through the air. Dylan stopped. His stomach growled. His feet started walking toward them all by themselves. I'll just have one, he whispered. Then another. Then another. Then he remembered. Mr. Anything isn't just strong. He has self-control. Dylan stopped. He looked at the cookies, then smiled. I think I'm actually full. His stomach gave one tiny burp. Even the bottomless belly boy had found his limit. Omnom nom. That evening, Dad and Dylan sat on the back porch. The sun was setting. Samson, the dog, rested at their feet. Dad smiled. So? How was having the biggest appetite in the world? Dylan laughed. It was fun, Dad. For a while, but he thought for a moment. I don't think I actually needed all that food. Dad nodded. God gives us wonderful gifts. Food is one of them. And one way we honor him is by being thankful and by practicing self-control. Dylan nodded. I think Mr. Anything learned something today. What was that? Dad smiled. Dylan grinned. Just because I can eat everything doesn't mean I should. Dad laughed. Exactly. Omnom nom. Later that night, Dylan stood in front of his mirror, cape around his shoulders, hands on his hips, he smiled. I'm Mr. Anything. Because I can eat, well, just about anything. And that was another adventure, Mr. Anything. Because sometimes the greatest superpower is knowing you've had enough. Thanks for joining me on the Later Hollow Podcast. Glad you came along for this adventure. And remember, God has given you wonderful gifts. Enjoy them with thankfulness. And who knows? Maybe Little Mr. Henny.
