Good morning, Birthed, and happy Friday. Congrats, you made it. This is your morning birthed brief, and as always, I'm your host, Trent Bootish. Let's get into it. As we all know, this Sunday is Father's Day. That being said, the Birthday Beat has a special audio treat for you all. I sat down with two infamous Birthday dads and asked them to tell a series of dad jokes to each other, and oh boy, were there a few groaners. Make sure to get your fill of dad jokes and listen to our Father's Day special, Dad Jokes, presented by Dave Levy and Buddy Coons. Next up, as an avid outdoorsman and a father myself, I have a list of Father's Day hikes the whole family can enjoy. First up, right in our backyard is the Sundance Trail at Carter Lake, running about 6.2 miles along the lake's north shore and western shores. The scenic hike is a bit on the difficult side, but provides great views of nature, wildlife, and a couple great fishing spots along the way. Next up is a northern Colorado classic, The Devil's Backbone. Home to beautiful red rocks and the natural keyhole geological formation, you have your choice of a few trails, such as the more family-friendly Morrison Trail, which is around 0.8 miles, the Keyhole Loop, which takes you around six miles and brings you close to the Keyhole Formation, or even the Blue Sky Trail, which leads to Coyote Ridge and eventually Horse Tooth all the way up in Fort Collins. And speaking of Fort Collins, we have the Dixon Reservoir Loop just at the base of Horse Tooth. This one is the most family friendly for all on my list, running about 2.1 miles. It also happens to be relatively flat, easy terrain, making it great for toddlers, strollers, and those with disabilities. It also features some great fishing opportunities and a pebble beach. Make sure before you head out to check regulations and see if any of these hikes need a county or a state pass, which can be purchased anywhere hunting and fishing licenses are sold. Alternatively, take a trip to the Bertha Library because they so happen to check out these passes for the day. Watch out for snakes, tucker the kiddos out, and enjoy some nature this Father's Day weekend. Alright, last but not least, if you're looking for something special to do with dad this Saturday, don't forget the Cars and Coffee event at the Shelby American Collection in Boulder. Go see a collection of classic racing cars and enjoy a cup of Joe. This might be one of the most dad coded activities out there. The event is from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m. and is free to attend. Well, that's all for your Friday morning brief. We at the Birthed Beat Podcast want to thank all the great dads out there. We hope you have a wonderful Father's Day. This has been Trent Buddhist signing off. Have a great weekend, Birthday, and we'll talk to you all on Monday.
