Good morning, birthday, and happy Wednesday. Also, happy first day of July. Welcome back to your morning birth of brief. I'm your host, Trent Bootish. Let's get into it. It is, of course, the day after election day, which means the results of the June 2026 primaries are in. Head to our website where the results will be posted. See who will be a contender in this November's elections. Wildfires continue raging across the state with over 75,000 acres burning as of last evening. The Snyder Mesa fire started along the Colorado-Utah border, with the Knolls and Gore fires merging into it. Health experts advise those with breathing conditions to limit their time and exercise outdoors, as this can make those conditions worse. We may be seeing smoky skies for a while, folks. Please respect the severe weather red flag warning and understand that lighting any fire or fireworks is risky right now. Be safe. Lastly, on some Birth of Recreation business, today is the first day of July, which means it's, of course, time to sign up for Birth of Wreck Center's Fall Adult Softball League. Gather your friends and sign up on the Birth of Wreck website under the register button. Fall will be here before you know it. Alrighty everybody. On a lighter note, our Colorado fun fact. Did you know Colorado is home to the headwaters of seven major rivers totaling 90,000 miles of stream? Well, that's all for your Wednesday morning brief. This has been Trent Bootish signing off. Have a great day, Berthain. We'll talk to y'all tomorrow.
