Good morning, Berthod, and happy Friday. Welcome back to your morning birthed brief. I'm your host, Trent Bootish. Let's go ahead and wrap up the week. First on today's agenda, rev up your Saturday at the 10th annual Birthday Lions Car and Bike Show tomorrow, July 11th, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Lions Depot on 3rd Street. Check out an amazing lineup of classic cars, custom rides, and motorcycles while enjoying a delicious pancake breakfast, plus burgers and hot dogs hot off the grill. Best of all, admission is free. Bring the whole family and spend the morning with great food, great vehicles, and great community spirit. That's the 10th annual Birthday Lions Car and Bike Show, Saturday, July 11th, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Lions Depot on 3rd Street. We'll see y'all there. Next up, Colorado has its Republican nominee for governor. First time candidate Victor Marks has won the three-way Republican primary, earning a spot on the November ballot. The Associated Press called the race Thursday afternoon after Marx held a narrow lead over State Senator Barbara Kirkmeyer. When the race was called, Marx had just under 40% of the vote, compared with just over 39% for Kirkmeyer, a margin of about 2,500 votes. That lead is enough to avoid an automatic recount under Colorado law. If elected in November, Marx would become Colorado's first Republican governor in 20 years. Finally, today in history, July 10th, a simple invention changed the way we travel forever. On this day, Swedish engineer Nils Bolin received the U.S. patent for the three-point seatbelt, a design that revolutionized automotive safety and has helped save millions of lives around the world. It's a quick reminder that one quick click can make all the difference. Whether you're heading across town or across the state, buckle up every trip, every time. Make sure everyone in your vehicle is wearing a seatbelt too. It just takes seconds to fasten, but could save your life. Anyways, that's all for your Friday morning brief. This has been your host, Trent Bootish. Have a safe, fun weekend, everyone, and we'll talk to you all on Monday.
