SPEAKER_01

Yes! Hello. Hi! How are you going? Good. How are you? Good. Hello, everybody. We're here. Episode two.

SPEAKER_02

Episode two. Welcome to Unhinged Creeks. Yes. I'm Lena. And we're in Bali. We are in Bali.

SPEAKER_03

In beautiful Bali. Changgu specifically. Very tropical, very hot. And segue, that's why we're here to talk today. And the po the importance of traveling with your friends, regardless of your status, married, single, or whatever it might be. But I just think the importance of making that time out for yourself. It's the best.

SPEAKER_02

Like there's nothing, there's honestly nothing like it. I I think Cass can attest to this. I know that when I go travelling with my friend, so I've been very lucky that I got to go to the States to surprise Cass for her 40th last year. Yes. Um, with uh two of the girls that are on this trip with us, and this year we're here for BT's 40th, which is all the decorations that you can see in the background. But there is something about it, it's not like when you travel with your your family, your husband, and your kids. When I say family, that's what I mean specifically. It is stress-free. We are all adults, we all want something different out of the trip, and we can all get whatever we want out of the trip. We don't have to think about anyone other than ourselves. And what have you gotten out of this trip? Time. I don't have to think about my children. I don't have to think about my husband. Like he's got it covered, and yes, I know he's stressing out, so that's fine, you know. Like he had his turn last year, so you know, next time it'll we'll holiday together.

SPEAKER_03

I mean, you also had your turn last year. Well, he had two.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, he had two. He went to New Zealand and he went to Bali. Yes, I forgot he had the New Zealand ski trip. No, I wasn't too. I didn't let him go to Bali. I said, absolutely not. You're going to New Zealand and I'm going to the States and that's that. Then you plan this trip. And I said, honey, you know how I said that you couldn't go to Bali? Well, I need to renege on that because I want to go to Bali and I have double standards. So off you go, Darley.

SPEAKER_03

So obviously, the girls, as we just said, they did surprise me last year in New York, but that was planned, and we knew that BT's 40th was coming up because she's the youngest of us. And BT's ultimate birthday celebration, and she's always alluded that she would love to be with her girlfriends, Bali or Thailand, something very tropical, um, very chilled, minimal people, no stress. So I was like, okay, great. Well, I've just got to do this. I reached out to everybody I knew that she would want here. I gathered the numbers. I then started scoping Airbnbs. I started looking at areas. I've never been to Bali before. And I messaged Lena and I said, Well, keep the dates the 28th of February free to the 7th of March, you're coming to Bali. Bali's never been on my radar. Like, not interested at all. I think that's how aggressive my text was.

SPEAKER_02

I mean, like, yes, I'm scared of you.

SPEAKER_03

She had no choice in the matter. Hence why then she reneged on Paul going to Bali with his friends not long ago. So here we are today, I guess, yeah, just talking to that importance and to what Lena just said, the freedom that we feel, and as much as we love our families, and you know, I do travel a lot with my husband and the boys, and the boys froth on a good travel. They love a five-star hotel.

SPEAKER_02

They are.

SPEAKER_03

Your kids are very, very lucky. They are very lucky. They travel well as well, so they can handle the long distance. I think last year was obviously the longest distance traveling to the States and Mexico. That was what, 14 hours plus an additional six hours, um, with a lot of like different stops across the states in between. Um, but yeah, I do travel with them. We do go every year somewhere. PG, obviously last year was the states, but nothing beats traveling with no us. Is this your first solo girls' trip since? Yeah, I mean, I've done I've done domestic travel, like I've done weekend travels and things like that, which has always been nice. But you know, the fact is well, I think we all realised that we were going to, or you and I were going to a country we've never been to for. So this is our first time in Indonesia. Yes, and it just hits different knowing that just running through the airport, you you're just literally scanning your own passport, and you're not having to worry about has your child brought in something that they shouldn't have like added in a pair of nail clippers for whatever reason.

SPEAKER_02

Why is she Phoenix doing that?

unknown

Correct.

SPEAKER_03

Just Phoenix running through the airport through security with a pair of nail clippers. Um, he does have tendencies to hide knives. Um, that's the difference of being able to get that is that a lot of long episode.

SPEAKER_02

That was a long episode, but yes, it was just nice, I think, to don't have to worry about, you know, do you need to wee? You know, do you have you got all of your stuff? Do I have enough snacks? You know, I just worry about myself, and I'm a very selfish person, so this works well for me. I can be very selfish as well. And my my kids are not good travellers, like Fiji was the first overseas trip that we've done with them, and that's what three and a half hours, and that was a punish. That was an absolute punish. I remember the flight home, Thomas was kicking his feet into the chair in front, and I was just like, I'm so sorry. Can I buy your treat? I'm so like I'm gonna buy your ticket. I'm mortified. Like, what can I do to make this better for poor person that didn't plan to have Tommy Tornado on the flight with him? Like, it's yeah, they're not good travellers, they've never been good travellers, both of them. Um, James is getting more curious as he gets older. Um, he's very into his soccer and he wants to go and watch a soccer game like all over the world, which is great. I'm like, yeah, I'll do that, but you won't make the flight, mate.

SPEAKER_03

But I think this is why we also need sponsors on this podcast. Um, you know, so I think one of the things that we spoke about, the key essential that we've been trying, Coastal Hair Girl. Hello, we love your product.

SPEAKER_02

It has been the lifesaver for the um we'll add it to the show notes. So this, I think she's Aussie. Yeah, she is just doing bog dye. Yeah, so this Aussie girl, I came across Coastal Girl when I mean look, our hairs we've spoken of. I think we're going to speak about our hairs in every single day. Correct, it's it's all over the Airbnb as we speak. This is the natural just got out of the pool hair. And to to wash it and maintain it every day when you're on holidays, it's a lot. This this stuff, it's a leave-in conditioner, and honestly, your hair just comes out so nice. Yeah, we've got all the girls hooked onto it while we're here as well. We're all using it, but it doubles as a leave-in con like leave-in conditioner, um, a heat protectant, all the things.

SPEAKER_03

So it's just the one product for our big thick Greek pubes on the head, it's been doing a wonder. But yes, we need fun. The money, I think going back to you know, little Mr. James is you know, we need that money to take them to the see all the soccer games across the world. Um, but some tips. Let's talk about some travel tips. Now, like I said, I do love a good travel.

SPEAKER_02

Oh, look, she cast needs to be a travel agent in her next life. She is our planner, she's absolutely amazing. So, this this is your time to shine like that.

SPEAKER_03

So you can just sit here and have a drink of water and just true travels. So, I guess, yes, I love organizing things. I think Lena even said this last week. I'm the person that does organize everybody's birthdays, and I love organising just anything. But when it comes to travel, like you give me the objective, you give me your wants, your needs, your budgets, I will make it happen for you. She has a PDF. Where do you want to go?

SPEAKER_02

What dates are you looking at? What is your budget? What do you want to get out of this trip? And you complete the PDF and off she goes.

SPEAKER_03

Yep, yep, a little questionnaire. But I think you know, the internet is your friend. And I have never actually used a travel agent. I probably used to maybe 20 years ago when I first started traveling when we just a travel agent for our 2010 travels, but now I do everything myself. I am a big believer in utilizing your monter's points. Carl and I and the boys, we travel on points. We don't actually pay for our tickets. We are relentless, we live off our credit card, we are never in debt, but that credit card accumulates points. We, my Woolies, everyday rewards converted back to points. So obviously, we always set where we want to go the following year. So at this stage of our life, like we're obviously we're coming back to Bali first and foremost in July, which we booked last year on points. Um, we're also going to Fiji next month to celebrate our 10-year wedding anniversary on points. Um, but we know the biggest trip coming up for us is 2028. We want to take the boys to Europe. So we now know in my mind I need at least 650,000 points to get us there. At this stage, we're at about 300,000 points. So we're halfway there and we've still got another year and a half, let's call it a year, before I need to actually book those tickets. So it's actually just being more in tune with your spending habits. Like we all know we're spending, so I will always scope the way I can get double points, what credit card will give me most of the points.

SPEAKER_02

Lots of hacks as well. Lots of hacks. Our new thing. Sorry, this is the one thing I can contribute to all the way I speak. Um, it's so if you through Qantas Marketplace purchase gift cards, and the gift cards can be for anything. So I've already bought my Uber um my Uber home because you can buy the Uber gift card, add that to your Uber account. You get points for buying it through Uber, you get points as well for spending on your credit cards, credit cards, yeah, the everyday uh Woolies cards as well. So you get points for buying the Woolies cards. So if you know your groceries are two, three hundred bucks a week at Woolies, buy three hundred dollars worth of gift cards, add them to your Woolworths account, yep, and then boost your points through your Woolies shop, yeah, and then you get your normal points on top of that. So you can up to triple your points. Correct.

SPEAKER_03

It is it is three points per $1 spent if you buy the everyday essentials Woolies card through the Qantas app. So you know, I've been buying $500 increment gift cards. Our grocery bill, I mean, I don't even know what food we buy, but we fucking eat it like it's ridiculous. But yeah, we're spending on average about $300 a week. So I know every month $2,000, $15 to $200,000. That's triple that nine times. Math is not my strong point. But all of the just by buying the gift card, and then I'm shopping on Woolworths, and then I'm you know boosting what is on special.

SPEAKER_02

Price line also you can buy um, yeah, through the Qantas app. So priceline cards, you can buy um Uber cards Airbnb. Yeah, so yeah, um booking any accommodation, uh, you can buy Airbnb vouchers and earn points that way.

SPEAKER_03

So it's definitely worth having a look. So that's first tip points. Points is what's going to get you to the trip. We all work, we all live. Do you change credit cards? Every like, do you shop around for credit cards? No, we've had the same quantas card, like Carl and I have been together what now, 13 years. So Carl's background here originally in the banking space, he started off as a product manager and card. So this was like what he taught me about how to live off a credit card and ensure that it's paid before the interest actually kicks in. That wouldn't work for me. Everything for us is on a direct debit. We tap the card like all of our insurances, our health insurance, life insurance. Everything comes about a credit card, which then incurs points. But to answer your question, do I shop for cards? No, however, I've just recently applied for the Amex because I've never had a credit card in my name. So the Amex is going to give you better benefits, and it just got approved just before we got to Bali. Yeah, so now I'm gonna what I'm gonna do is I'm gonna actually switch over all of my direct debits because the West Park card that we have is actually capped at seven and a half thousand points a month. Yeah, whereas the Amex gives us, I think, two point two five or two point five points per $1 spent, something to that effect. But you know, yeah, so shopping around for credit card in that aspect I have. So tip number one, be savvy with your points. You can go traveling essentially for free by just living every day like we normally do. Number two, don't use a travel agent. Oh my gosh, Facebook, it's it has so many pages. Now, when I went to Mexico last year, Mexico was something I always wanted to do for my 40th. So, of course, classic cas type A. I was planning this from five years ago. I started researching where do I want to stay? What is Mexico like? You know, you hear of everything on media, it's very dangerous on their children and all that shit. Whatever. I was like, no, you know what? Have your wits about you, you're gonna find it. Facebook pages. There are countless Facebook pages, Americans in Mexico, Australians traveling to Mexico, Cancun Mexico, and specific, then you narrow it down. Okay, great. I know I want to stay in Cancun. What hotels are good within Cancun? Looking at all my wants, which I'll go to in a second. Okay, great. This hotel ticks at join the Facebook page, start asking questions. You know, over time you do it. And if you know that you're gonna be somewhere, so I've already started doing the Europe thing in my mind because I know it's a year and a half away, so I've started scoping out where we want to go for that. So Facebook, internet, TikTok, YouTube, people film their fucking bathtub in hotels so you get a real look and not necessarily feel of what your surroundings are gonna be. So that's a good enough indication to be like, okay, great, I've made the right choice there. Then I guess going to your priorities, sitting down with your husband, the boys. I asked the boys, what is it that they really want? Kids club. They're fucking fossil in a kids' club. My so my kids are social beings, they just want to make friends, they want to play, they want to be away from Carl and I. We want them to my kids are like, Mom, kids club is like school, it's like jail.

SPEAKER_02

Like, we're gonna spend time with you, mom. Why are you sending me to kids club?

SPEAKER_01

See, my boys frother.

SPEAKER_03

Like, they love obviously spending time with us, but you know what? Like, this is their holiday too. So for me, kids club is important. What do we want the accommodation to look like? Look, Carlos he loves a good, nice hotel, so he works hard, so we want nice hotel comfort, separate sort of living arrangements if we can, away from the children so we can have some hanker bank a time. Q Melbourne last year.

SPEAKER_02

What busted by your child or from someone else? Phoenix! Oh yeah, that happened twice, didn't it? You didn't learn the first time. Five minutes later. It's like, let's just go.

SPEAKER_01

Mommy, why is daddy doing that to you? And I'm just full gaslighting him.

SPEAKER_02

What are you talking about, son? Don't know, don't know.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, so really prioritizing your wants, and then even if it's you know scoping it down to location, vicinity, activities if you want to do, all of those things. So having a good checklist with everybody involved. And I did it for this trip. Like, what does everyone want? Fortunate for this trip, the girls are very much cast. We trust you, do whatever you have to do. So that was nice and easy, and I guess I just sort of followed what I know I would like, and I figured everyone else would like it as well. So getting your things and then start planning, booking things slowly, slowly. As soon as those tickets are available for your um airfares, which is often about nine months in advance, book them, right? Even when we didn't get more expensive, don't you? They get more expensive, yeah, yeah, yeah. So even for like the Bali trip where the boys and I are coming back in July, I was looking last year, and because it's around school holidays as well, so I have to keep that in mind. And we were a little bit, I guess, procrastinating at the time, like do we, don't we, do we, don't we? And then by the time Carlos is like, do it, I think it might have been a month later, the prices had jacked up. So at that nine-month mark, prices jack up, like they re they do escalate. So plan in advance, and then you can start doing your hotels and start pay the penalty of procrastination because talk about next weekend.

SPEAKER_02

Oh, yeah, it's our 10-year anniversary next weekend. We've known it's our 10-year wedding anniversary. And I said to Paul, here, darling, here's some a list of some things. You even sent him a list of some suggestions. I did on New Year's. Um, and he's messaging me on my holiday in Bali, like, no shade, babe, no shade. But he's like, um, so do you like this place? Or do you like this place? It's fine. Yeah, look. We're so I'm so low maintenance. They're coming to stay at our house next weekend. I'm really low maintenance. Oh yeah, I'll kick you out and be like, and I just say your house is like a resort. Your house is like a resort to me, anyway. So Carlos and Paul out.

SPEAKER_01

Celebrate our 10-year anniversary. It's way more fun. I'll renew my vows with you anyway.

SPEAKER_02

We should do that.

SPEAKER_01

Yes, we write vows to each other. Yes, yes, yeah, we can. And then we can like tell our listeners if you want to come to our virtual wedding.

SPEAKER_02

Yes, best friendship.

SPEAKER_01

Best friendship.

SPEAKER_03

Well, how many years is it now? 17 years?

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, it is.

SPEAKER_03

I thought, okay. Chat GPT, no, I don't even need to think twice about what I would write for you. And I guess, yeah, they're my truer travels tips. I think to you know, stress-free travel. Look, people stress that you know, people don't have the time for things like that, but there are resources out there as well that can do those things for you. I could do it for you. I love doing that for you. Yeah, if you were playing a holiday, shout out to Cass. Come to me like the Keisha. She's got her 40th next year. She wanted to go to Paris. Obviously, that's really hard for her, given that not everybody can go to just up and leave and go to Paris. But she's like, Cass, this is what my wants are. I want it very Parisian. Let's keep it in Australia somewhere. You know, I want to find like a chateau or something to that effect that would feed, you know, fit fit, excellent amount of people. Can you do something for me, Cass? Obviously, we've got to talk to a lot more about it because it's the only conversation that's just come to light this week. But yeah, she's just like, do it. And mind you, she's an EA. So it's interesting that some people are like that though.

SPEAKER_02

Nikki and I are very similar. I would say she's even type C. I thrive in the workplace. Like there is without a doubt, that is the but it's the only part of my life I have any control over.

SPEAKER_03

But what do you mean you don't have control over your personal life? Well, because the little fuckers control it for you.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, like my husband, my husband's self-employed. I don't know if he's gonna be home or not. It's just me at home. But oh, I can't. Can I go to the gym? Oh no, he's not coming home. Okay, but I need to feed the children, or you know, like it's it's yeah, there's no routine. There is no routine at home because his work takes him wherever, whenever. So I don't have structure at home. I go to work for a break. I have structure there. Yeah, I guess so. And I guess Nikki, like Nikki would be exactly the same. Yes, and I my research.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, like full-time single mum, which is correct, yes, which is a whole nother topic because that woman is absolutely amazing as the way she raises her daughter and the way she deals with her ex-husband. Like, that's a whole different conversation. She will be aware of that. Yeah, she will be a guest of ours, and just to really talk through how she manages life in that regard. But yeah, so she's obviously then palmed that off to me. Delegated to you, delegated, palm off. Yeah, that's something I would say to someone, you just do it.

SPEAKER_02

The same tips, I think also as well. Look, we may come across as a bit privileged, a little bit wanky because it's like, oh, look at us just leaving our kids going to like Bali and Europe and blah. But the Cass's tips are applicable towards any budget, any holiday. I'm not a camper, my my kids and my husband go camping all the time. Our agreement is I will come once a year, um, and then the rest of the time you guys are on your own. But the same thing, you research the exact same way, you plan the same way, you book it the same way. You know, do you use at least? Do you use some Kleenex? Do you buy a campsite? You can go to the campsite where there are toilets there, plump toilets, even not just the hole in the ground.

SPEAKER_01

I've got a phobia of public toilets, so I just does.

unknown

She does.

SPEAKER_02

Um, so barley so far, what do you think? We haven't been here before.

SPEAKER_03

No, we haven't been here before. What am I thinking? I don't know if my mind is because I'm just having such an amazing time with you and the girls, that that is my mind made up and how much I'm having fun. Bali is very dirty, it's very chaotic. We're staying in Chenggu.

SPEAKER_02

So it's very busy.

SPEAKER_03

Very, very busy, which we sort of already knew that that was going to be the case. It's you know, like we saw driving through to Ulbud the other day, chickens, raw chickens in 90% humidity, 35 degrees, on a table on the side of a road for the locals to come and buy. I have not eaten chicken on this trip. That we know of. That we my butthole knows it's eaten chili.

SPEAKER_02

Oh, that was good last night. Last night's dinner was yum.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, that was really good. But no, Bali so far has, yeah, it's been interesting. I can't wait to come back with the boys, but we're also staying in a different way. Family friendly. Family friendly, yes. I've already scoped the two. We're doing Sunua and Nu Sindua. So one part resort, one part we can take and go and exploring. You know, this is just an example of Zandar specifically having FOMO. So we were at um Club Om Omna Ulbud in Ulbud the other day. It was beautiful. We did ATV, fun. I ripped myself, nearly fell into the water fountain. It's really funny.

SPEAKER_02

We all faced our fears. We all faced our fears. Travel insurance doesn't cover it. We can drive a water. It wasn't worth the extra hundred bucks. We can drive a car, like, how hard would it be? It was did I get stuck under a waterfall? Actually, under a waterfall. Waterfall with orange life in my head behind me.

SPEAKER_03

It was hilarious. But following that, we went to Club Omar. It was beautiful. This everything's called a day club here. It was pouring down rain. You had this beautiful waterfall, rainforest, lush green, and this just gorgeous club, like literally just embedded into the cliffside. And the boys had FaceTimed me, and I was like, look at where I'm staying, boys. Sandra started crying. I was like, Oh, you miss me. And he's like, Can we go there when we come back in July? Because it's got an affinity pool. He just literally had FOMO, and then he saw Lena, and he's like, Oh, but you're with Lula, you're with BT and you're with Nikki.

SPEAKER_02

It's like, why are you with your friends and I'm not there? Because last year in the States, they were a part of the part of the whole shit. Yep. Um, whereas my kids have don't know any different.

SPEAKER_03

But it's easy, it's really nice just to go away without your kids and your friends.

SPEAKER_02

I couldn't really give two shits where we go, to be honest. I yeah, I just love wherever I go with my friends, doesn't matter the duration. Am I missing them now? What's today? Day five.

SPEAKER_03

I think so.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Um, yeah, so now I'm a bit like, all right, you know what? Like, I'm loving the sun, I'm loving, you know, but I also get bored of just sitting around just resting. So I'm like, oh no, I'm I'm ready to go home. I'm done. I feel relaxed. I feel yeah.

SPEAKER_03

Oh, I mean, I miss Carl because we didn't see each other last week. He was he literally got home at 11:30 at night on the Friday night, and I was leaving home at 1 a.m. and it was like touch and go, is he gonna make it or not? Because he was stuck domestically because the weather was quite bad. Um, so I haven't seen my husband now since last Tuesday, so I do really miss him, and the fact that I didn't get to spend that time with him. Yeah, but my children, like, yeah, I miss him, but I know that it's gonna be a shit show when I get back. Yeah, so and life is quite stressful looking. But I think what else have we done here so far? I think we'll wrap up. Yes, let's do a wrap up.

SPEAKER_02

So, yeah, ATV, really fun, really pretty scenery. Um, we went to there's there's a a bazillion ones when I was researching this. Oh, this is what I researched. Yes, I researched um reviews. Reviews were my um, I guess, key indicator. Um, so I got reviews from the Facebook pages, reviews from Google Reviews, Trustpilot, uh, Reddit as well. Reddit is great for travel tips, and I found a company that had really good reviews. WhatsApp is the main form of communication over here. So I WhatsApp, WhatsApp from home, got a really good vibe from the person. Um, like they were really chatty. They laughed when I was asking all these questions about, you know, is it really easy to do? And he said, How old are the children? And I said, aged between 38 and 42. So, you know, there's a good bit of banter there. Um, so ATV was fun. Oma was a beautiful day club. Like when we say day club, it wasn't dufting. No, no, it was just very chill, very chill. Very relaxing. Yep. Um, and and that was a lot of fun. She learned how to dive. I learned how to dive. I am 40 years old. I've never dive still. I tried my best, but also, you know, growth. It's been like a holiday of growth.

SPEAKER_01

So that was fun.

SPEAKER_03

Spins, we went to Finn's. It was so much fucking fun. It was. I was dancing all day. I didn't see five beers.

SPEAKER_02

She must have done like 50,000 steps at least. You've seen dancing in three hours.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, it was a lot. We were there for a lot longer. Seeing it was six to nine hours. We had a cabana. Um, and that's what made it. Being 40 years old, feeling like we're 18, but having money on 40-year-olds, knowing that we could spend that money on the cabana feel like the ultimate rich bitches were not rich by any way.

SPEAKER_02

We felt like we felt like millionaires. I mean, and in Bali, like with the currency, you do generally feel like millionaires anyway. But the service, guys, the service, like Finn is yeah, okay, like it was. It was tacky, but it was correct. It's like, yeah, you know what? Would I go back again?

SPEAKER_03

No, we've kicked it off. We've done. I'm not taking Xandra and Phoenix. I mean, though Phoenix will probably love it as well, too. Beyond that DJ Steam fancy.

SPEAKER_02

Um, but the service was impeccable. Like, honestly, at one point I was like, I had something in my teeth. And the girls were like trying to get it out so we could take photos. And the next thing I know, the man is there with a toothpick, with an actual toothpick. I don't know where. I was like, this is amazing. I was looking around, and then he just got to figure out that I liked our extra ice in my drink, so he would come around with fresh ice and he cleaned up all the time. It was like take your glasses off, your sunglasses, we'll clean them for you. Yeah, there was nothing that we could have like as soon as the thought popped into our head, it was like they were in our brains, they knew what we were thinking. Very, very nice people, yeah, genuinely lovely, friendly people. Um, you know, are you sure you're having you know a good time? Is there anything else that you need? They got involved with us as well, dancing, they had a couple of shots as well.

SPEAKER_03

They were great, they were fun. And then BT's birthday yesterday was absolutely lovely. We organized a floating breakfast in the morning in the pool in the pool, which was lovely, and bagels, so bagels is a favourite thing. So Bali Float Company, that's who I used, and then we went for a three-hour spa session at Gold Dust Spa here in Chengu, and it oh my god, and the price was ridiculous, like 200 bucks each for three hours. We you do not get anything like what we got yesterday at home. It was absolutely indulgent, and then they fed us, and I thought it was just gonna be like a bit of jats and fucking colby cheese. It was a spread, it was a spread, and a birthday cake and everything champagne, um, bubble kombucha, sparkling water, tea water, tea, like wow. It was sensational, and then Lena found a chef to come and do a vegetarian vegan um experience for us here at the villa.

SPEAKER_02

So BT's vegetarian, so we got uh yeah, found a chef. Well, you actually found the chef.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, oh yes, yes, I did.

SPEAKER_02

I found the chef. Yes, so I came up with the idea she executes. Um but uh this chef, she was lovely. She came to the villa, it was actually completely vegan, Indonesian cuisine. We picked the food beforehand.

SPEAKER_03

She had a full, like an array, like the menu was so extensive. Lena and I think took about half an hour really deciphering what we would have wanted to eat. Olven, you were amazing. So that was her. Um, she's just started her own little Google page page.

SPEAKER_02

So we'll share that, we'll put that in the show notes as well. So if you ever are in Chenggu and they traveled, so most places are within half an hour of each other on a scooter. On scooter, obviously. So um, yeah, like she's probably be willing to travel as well. But she was so lovely. Uh, she set everything up, she washed up, you know, it was lovely. Perfect. I think it was a nice chilled night for us because we've been trying pretty hard until it wasn't, because then BT and I were sitting there.

SPEAKER_03

We just finished playing um Grab the Mike really fun card game. I frothed on a good song like Emilio Burton, just like start singing. In fact, Lena and I often are in sync with the same song. She is fresh. Um and she's so excited to me. So, anyways, it was about 10 p.m. we finished, and I was like, you know, I'm ready for bed, it's fine. And then BT's like, when was the last time you and I just went out cats? I was like, oh my god, like Portugal, like 2012. She's like, fuck no, and the girls are like, You two need to go out. Let's go to Motel Mexicola. We went there the other night, so much fun. We're like, fuck it, let's just go. We got dressed within seconds, which is lightning speed for BT. Um, we ordered our gojecks. We were in Motel Mexicola, we had a shot, I had a beer, she had a cocktail, we danced there for half an hour, not even, and then we're like, oh, let's go across the road to Old Man's, I think it was. Yes. Then we danced there, and I mean, I felt like I was back in Finns with the amount of sweat that was coming out of like all my offices. I was in my office down the hatchet it goes.

SPEAKER_02

We need to do uh cast pronunciation reel because oh, okay.

SPEAKER_03

Anyway, so yeah, so we went out dancing, and but we were back within like an hour, like 25 minutes later. I'm like, Well, yeah, no, we literally was like an hour and a half later, we had left, we danced at two different clubs, we sweated profusely. I my my shoes were full of sweat. We ordered our go dex, we came back. Unlucky we did because in 15 minutes later there was a massive storm hit.

SPEAKER_02

Yes, um we are here in wet season, yeah. Um, and I was before we left, I was peeking really bad because it was flash flooding, and I was watching on Instagram people's villas getting flooded and a birth and stop going flying down the street in a puddle of water trying to dive. I really like my birthday. I can't dive after. I actually don't know how to, like my body doesn't make that sea movement. Meant to be like a sea. I can't know, I'm not a mermaid. Um, but no, who would be blessed if the weather's been lovely and if it has rained, it's only been for a little bit, dries up really quick. It's been great.

SPEAKER_03
