SPEAKER_01Hi there. I am doing great, Virginia. Thank you for thank you so much for having me. This is exciting.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, yeah. We're super excited. We're really excited to hear about you and your business. Can you tell, can you tell me a little bit more?
Building Last Call Skincare
SPEAKER_01Absolutely. So Last Call Skin Care is a medical grade skincare. It's made in the USA, born for my 20 years in medical aesthetics. And I formulated it knowing that actives are the only thing that cause molecular change in the skin. So the catalyst to creating it was when the science evolved to make those high-performance active ingredients gentle on the skin. That has been so exciting for our brands. And the last call name, it's a nod to my sobriety journey.

A Story Of Survival And Sobriety
SPEAKER_04So how did you get into this?
SPEAKER_01So it came directly out of transformation. I'll give you a little history to help explain that. So I was born to a 16-year-old mother when with mental illness, and I navigated her instability while growing up in St. Pete. And questioning her dysfunction, I became her scapegoat. And when I was in 10th grade, she orchestrated my abduction. I was pulled out of school and out of state. Three months later, I managed my escape back to Florida. And when I got back, I rented my own home. I earned my GED and I enrolled myself in college all before my high school class even graduated. So yeah, I built a solid career in medical aesthetics. Honestly, I survived by becoming an overachiever, but I was numbing the pain with alcohol the whole time. So the big turning point was at age 50, I met my wonderful husband. I went full no contact with my mother. And as soon as I did, I got sober.
SPEAKER_04Wow. That's impactful. Congratulations on your sobriety. That's incredible.
SPEAKER_01Thank you. Almost two years here. 7-Eleven.

Medical Grade Skincare Myths
SPEAKER_04Um, so can you tell me some myths or misconceptions in your industry?
SPEAKER_01Sure. There's there's actually a lot of confusion on what medical grade grade skincare really means. When professionals say medical grade, we're simply talking about the high concentration of active ingredients that penetrate down into the cells because that's where we create actual actual change that changes lines, dark spots, and texture. Otherwise, we're just sitting on top of the skin with your product hydrating dead cells. And being 52 and being raised on St. Pete Beach during our infamous baby oil days, which we can remember. I personally know what the skin needs to help reverse sun damage and aging. I always say my generation just didn't know any better. And there's no excuse for the next generation. They have all the knowledge and wonderful products, right?

SPEAKER_04None. Okay, so we know marketing is the heart of every business.
Who It Helps And Why
SPEAKER_04Who is your target customer and how do you attract them?
SPEAKER_01Good question. Honestly, anyone with skin. Seriously, the person who's ready for actual cellular change and are done with products that just sit on the surface and do nothing. So my customer is someone who wants advanced biogenetic technology. And I attract them through my large network of the spa industry. Very fortunate to have a good network.
SPEAKER_04Yeah. Have you ever thought about having your own podcast?
SPEAKER_02My own podcast? What a great question. We'll see what the future, what the future shows us here, right? Yeah.
Boozless Babe Community And Giving Back
SPEAKER_04Um, okay, so outside of work, what do you do for fun?
SPEAKER_01So I founded a community called Boozless Babe, Sarasota Social. And we're on Facebook and we host events here in Sarasota because one of sobriety's biggest hurdles, as a lot of people know, is the social piece. So I created a space where women can connect, have fun, and not feel like they're missing out of anything. So I'm also passionate about philanthropy in our community. Giving back is just so central to healing.
