SPEAKER_00

Hello, hello everybody. Welcome back to another episode of Soft Chaos with Noah. I'm your host, Noah, and I don't know how long it's been since my last episode. So either way, I'm excited to be back after a little bit. I don't know, yeah, I don't know if I recorded like last week or two weeks ago, but I did record in my new apartment, and I'm still here in my new apartment. Obviously, I wouldn't end the lease that early because I love my new apartment. Again, I'm on the first floor, and like it's easy to get out. The dumpster and trash area is like right across from me, and then all my amenities are also right across from me. And yeah, and I have an in-unit laundry, so super excited to finally be in a better apartment, I guess you could say. The old apartment that I was at, I wasn't really a fan of it. The kitchen was a little bit far from the bedroom, which I know that's not like that's like a big deal for me, but like it's not a big deal for like anybody else, so um, I'm just lazy, really. Like I just did not want to walk all the way to the kitchen and you know, back and forth and everything. And also I was just like a little bit sensitive to the creakiness and of the noise that the floors would make because I was kind of like nervous that my neighbor would be annoyed with that, and actually I am kind of like hearing that too from upstairs, but um the noise level is just it's totally fine, and I'm I'm just really like happy that I'm on the first floor and I have laundry, like an in-unit laundry, so I've been doing a lot of tasks, I've been feeling more productive and just kind of cleaning up around the around the apartment, and like it's just great. I love it, and the distance is way better than what I was doing back in my other apartment to work. Um, so we are happy, guys. We are happy. Um, I did want to talk a little bit about work and just kind of like a catch-up episode. I mean, all my episodes are catch-ups, but um, I did want to talk about work a little bit. I've been falling off my night schedule, my night shift schedule in terms of sleep and just like like understanding what my body wants and needs, you know, like rest or am I hungry? Things like that. Um, I have been used to like doing all-nighters and everything, obviously for work, but now I've been back on a day shift schedule, and I kind of like stay up late. I mean, I'm able to get through the night until maybe like 3 to 4 a.m. And then I just like put my head down and start like kind of dozing off like for 15 minutes or so when there's downtime and like the kids are sleeping and there's not much busy work, and I've been really tired. Um, and I have done this like a couple times during my shift, and then when I get home, like I'm just super actually no, when I get home, I'm a little bit energized, but I'm ready to go to bed. Um, but still I'm like I never really fall asleep during those hours. I'm usually pretty good at staying awake the whole night, um, and like keeping myself busy and stuff like that. Um, so I'm just like, what is going on? Um I'm definitely not back in the night routine, night shift routine, so I think that's also a big factor. And I really have not the first night or the yeah, the night before the first night. Um I've been trying to like stay up late so that I could get used to the next three nights. If you guys didn't know, I work pretty much straight, um, three nights a week or four nights a week, and I just like it that way. You know, I get a lot of days off in a row, but the first day back is always the toughest for me because it's like I don't know what to do the night before. I know it's best to stay up late as much as you can so that you can prepare for the next three nights, but I don't know. I just have not been able to do that despite energy drinks and coffee. So I tried like drinking a cup of cold brew this one night and like kind of down it, but it didn't really work. I was tired again, and even the Alani that I drank, I used to drink Celsius. I feel like Celsius works a little bit better for me, but I just don't like the jitters and the anxiety that it comes with. So Alani it is, and even that like does not help me stay awake, so we're gonna have to figure something out because I'm like super tired, and then also I'm going out of the country in July, so I will be jet lagged because the flight is super long, and there goes my sleep schedule again. So we gotta get through this month and just kind of like get enough rest as much as I can. It's currently 3 43 p.m. and I do have work at 7 p.m. and I leave my house or my apartment at like 6 p.m. So I mean once I'm done filming this podcast episode, I'll probably go back to sleep for like another hour or so. I did sleep from like 10 a.m. to 1.30, 2 p.m. So that's enough for me, but I definitely wanna just like rest before I go back into work tonight. And yeah, guys, I'll keep you updated on my night shift sleeping schedule because it's just it's been tough. So if you guys have any tips, if you're a night shift person, how do you work around your sleep schedule and like getting things done, being productive? Tomorrow I have to get blood work um before my doctor's appointment on Tuesday. So we're figuring that out as well. And then I work also tomorrow night, but I don't work until 11 p.m. So I think we'll be good for that. Um, but yeah, like work has just been really good. I feel like also the first day I get back into work after like a long weekend off, I feel like I'm kind of on a high, if that makes sense. Like I am really super excited to get back into the zone. Um, you know what I think it is? I just I like the routineness of the duties that I have during night shift. Like I kind of like get into work, pass meds, and then I do my notes and everything, and then just like clean up around the nurse's office, and like I don't know, and then the kids also like give me that energy. So um, if you guys didn't know, I also do struggle with bipolar two and like depression, anxiety, um, and like I think with bipolar two, like the mood of or like the manic episodes that I have, like I think they're more fed into when I do go to work, um, or when I do work, but not like in a dangerous way, obviously. I am on mood stabilizers, so that helps a lot, and I'm able to like control my manic episodes and get you know back into reality. So if you guys are aware, just like putting it out there, I'm like not manic at work, obviously. Like I'm focused into work, this is my zone, and I'm staying consistent with my meds, so we're good with that. Um, just wanted to put that out there, but yeah, it's like I think the kids really just give me a lot of energy too, and I don't know. I just love being with the kids and like helping them and just like caring for them, giving them meds, seeing everyone one by one, just like visiting them in their rooms, checking in. It's just like really like a fun job. Obviously, I wish it paid more um because I am going back to school in August. I finally got some emails from the school regarding my um like matriculation plan and registration and things like that. So super excited. Excuse me. Um I just spurred because I'm drinking a Fanta Orange soda right now. Um, but yeah, it's starting to happen, guys. We are in June, so like about two more months, and then I'll be back in school. Um, problem is actually not a problem, but in a way, like we're gonna get through this financially because you guys know that I struggle a little bit financially, and like I just have to pick up some overtime, and then also just like work with financial aid to figure out how I will pay for this if there's payment plans and things like that, and then keeping up with rent and just like groceries, things like that. Um, definitely need to cut down on subscriptions, but I mean I don't use all of them, like Netflix. I watch Scandal, and sometimes Temptation Island, um HBO Max, I watch Degrassi, Vampire Diaries, Gossip Girl, um, and some movies, and then Peacock, I have to cancel sometime tonight or tomorrow. And then YouTube TV, I use that regularly, and also my family. Disney Plus I use regularly. Um Amazon Prime, obviously, it comes with the Amazon Prime subscription scrip eh subscription. Sorry. Soft chaos with Noah. And obviously I buy a lot of Amazon stuff. Um what else do I use? You know, and then there's also like this random, it's not random, like I know what it's getting out. Um, the iCloud to like extra gigabytes. Um, yeah, I'm not I've re never really been like an i iCloud person for my Apple products because it's just like confusing to me. So um, and then you know my phone like always runs out of storage and stuff like that. So I don't know what to do with that, guys. But it's like $2.99 a month, and you know, that still counts for something, so I don't know, guys. I don't know, but I think that's all the subscriptions that I have. Oh, and then obviously the podcast platform that I use, Buzz Sprout, I think I pay like five bucks a month, and yeah, that's it. And then, you know, I have like other stuff rent, groceries, and then school. Um, still paying off some loans, not gonna lie. Um so yeah, I am just struggling financially. I hope to get through at least the first semester of my program and just like figure out a way of how to afford it. Obviously, education is I keep saying obviously a lot. Sorry guys. Um, education is super expensive, especially if you go to like a four-year university and a grad school, like that combined is just super expensive. Um, unless you have like you come from a rich f family and you can afford um afford that or like you get a scholarship or something like that. But um yeah, I don't come from a rich family and um I don't know if I and actually, you know, I didn't I was I need to work on stop being lazy to stop being lazy and apply for scholarships. I think also because this night shift thing, it's like kind of hard to do productive stuff throughout the day and then just like catch up on everything because at work I'm sleepy, so I don't really wanna like do anything on my personal computer and like do personal stuff. Um, and then obviously I have work to do, and then when I get home I'm tired and I don't wanna like do anything. I just kind of want to lay in bed and read or watch TV, things like that, and like clean around the house. I don't really set time for myself to just sit down and like do all of this work stuff and like school stuff and like figuring out my bills and everything like that. So we're gonna work on that, guys. We have to because otherwise, I think when school comes around, um, it's gonna be a little bit tough for me to like stay awake, be productive, stay on top of deadlines and things like that. Um, so we gotta we gotta work on that now, guys. Um next topic I want to talk about, I guess, I guess that's like my introduction now to different topics, but um, because I'm just kind of all over the place. Chaos, obviously. Um, there we go. Saying obviously again. I apologize. Um, you know what? Let me get back to my apartment stuff. I have been making up my apartment a little bit more homey. I have a little patio, so I put a chair out there so I can read and I have read outside um this one time, and it was just the weather was excellent, and it was just so peaceful. Um, and like I have like different decorations. I have my vinyl record player in the living room, and my closet's all fixed with my cleaning stuff. Kitchen is pretty much good, fridge is still a little bit packed. Um I'm starting to put put up some like wall stuff, like wall decor. And then my bedroom is still a mess, not gonna lie, because I still have a lot of like towels and packing bags still on the floor, and then I am still putting my laundry, like my dirty clothes, like when I get home on top of these bags, and I'm like, why don't I just put it directly in the laundry? Um, bathroom is good so far. It's a little chaotic in there, but I mean it works for me, so that's that. My island in my apartment, there's a lot of like chips and fruit and everything that's just kind of random, and then I have like my calendar and my lamp and like um writing utensils and things like that just kind of all over the place. So I kind of don't know what to do with that. Um, because I don't have a pantry this time, which I don't mind it. I think it like helps a little bit contain everything, but I do have quite a few cabinets and drawers, so I don't know. I've been trying to like stick some stuff in my cabinets, but it's definitely not organized. Um, and then I still have like stuff next to my sink, which I just wanted to keep simple and clean with my drying um mat. But my family came over last week and they just kind of like brought more stuff for me, which I'm grateful for, but kind of made a mess a little bit more in my kitchen and my the rest of my apartment, really. But otherwise, grateful that they brought some stuff for me and groceries and things like that, but still looking a little chaotic. I'm doing better at keeping up with my dishes. In my other apartment, I left my dishes for like three to five days, or sometimes if I would sleep over my apart uh my family's apartment, I would still leave it there and then come back and it'd be like almost a week. I know that's so disgusting, but now I'm like getting cleaner, I guess. That sounds gross, but um like I'm able to like keep up with cleaning everything and doing like deep cleans and everything. My sink is bigger this time and it's like divided, and then I have the little stretchy thing with the faucet that you can change into like the sprinkler effect and things like that. Excuse me, one second. That was gross. Sorry guys, also allergies too. My cough has been terrible. Um, I've been taking like Delsum and Zertec, and it just still sounds gross. I apologize for that. I don't cut out like little clips here and there of my podcast episode just because I'm keeping it real. Um, and I just like that, you know, like I don't really want to go through the whole episode again and listen to my voice and just like cut out little bits and stuff like that because I'm real like that. Coughing is real, you know, allergy season is here, and people just struggle with sniffling and sneezing and coughing and itchy eyes. So um, keeping it real, guys. If you struggle with seasonal allergies, I get ya, I get ya. My sister struggles it with it way more than me, so um, her eyes get really itchy and then like she gets super congested and like sniffly and things like that, so um, yeah, I feel bad for her. But if you're going through that too, make sure to you know take care of those symptoms because it's not fun to go through that. Um, but anyways, getting back to my apartment stuff, so it is a little bit chaotic, but I've only been here for like maybe three weeks or more, and I have stuff up on my fridge, like little pictures here and there. I have a TV. I have two TVs this time. Um, one in the living room, one in my room, and that is just like a little bit more convenient for me. I know I don't necessarily need two TVs, but if I have guests over they would want to watch in the living room, and I can just chill out in my room, like if they were sleeping over, you know, like my grandparents they slept over last week, and um they just kind of sat or used that TV. Oop, cough is coming up, guys. You know what? I should drink water. Hold on one second. Excuse me, guys. I think also, oh you know what? I forgot to order a humidifier. I gotta do that soon. Um but yeah. I'm just trying to make my apartment a little bit more homey so the TVs they've been working for me. It's been more homey like that, and I'm able to invite guests over and they can watch movies with me in the living room, and then I can just chill in my room, you know, when the day's all done, and just like watch a movie in my bed, which I had like my iPad and my laptop when I was in my other apartment, and my TV, like I only had one TV in my living room, so I just like it was just a lot going back to back and forth to the living room. Like, I would want to stay in bed and watch TV, but I only had my iPad, and that's like a smaller screen, so now we have two TVs, guys, and it's been great. Right now I'm currently watching I know what you did last summer, it's in the background. I watched that movie like maybe 10 times already with two with my family, and then me just like I put it on the background, I re-watch it. I don't know, I just love that movie. Plus, it's summertime, so I'm like, oh, it's giving off that vibes. More stuff, like more TV shows and stuff that I would re-watch in the summer or like put in the background. Summer I turn pretty, outer banks. Um, oh, guys, since it's June, it this always like every year gives me high school graduation vibes, so I watch high school musical three, um, the senior year, and then you know, I pretty much watch all the high school musicals um during this time of year. I don't know, it just gives me like a nostalgic feeling when I was graduating high school, and it was just like a interesting time in my life, but something I'll never forget, um, in a good and bad way. Um, but yeah, I've been like, I don't know, just kind of been also tough figuring out what groceries to buy. So I've just been like kind of making a list beforehand simple things like bread, avocados, eggs, milk, things like that. And like currently my mindset is use them as soon as you can, especially with the things that are that gonna expire quickly, like milk and bread. Um, I tried to use my sourdough bread as quick as I could, but unfortunately I had like four loaves left, so I had to throw that out. Um, but I did use it quite often for my sandwiches, but now I can't make sandwiches anymore, so we're gonna have to make another trip. And then my bagels, I had two bagels left, had to throw those out, but I did eat a lot of bagels, and then my milk is gonna expire in four days, guys. So I like am trying to like use it up. I think I have to buy a smaller gallon of milk or smaller like jar jug of milk next time because that big one is too much, and also I get like really bad stomach issues when I drink milk, so probably lactose intolerant, or I have to take a lactate before, but I just kind of like suffer through it, honestly. Um, and then I have like cream. Cheese and butter, which I could use for a while, and then cheese. Um, and then I have some canned foods like spam and corned beef, which I cooked yesterday. Um so yeah, we're just like still trying to figure out what groceries to continually have in my fridge and pantries every week. Um, I don't want to go grocery shopping like every week. I think that's a little bit excessive for my budget. Um so we're gonna figure that out. Um, I do need to get a new rice cooker because I'm getting back into eating rice, but I do have my quinoa and my couscous. So maybe we'll stick back to that and be a little bit more healthy. Um, oh you know what else, guys? So my walking pad, I'm using that as a TV stand. So I'm like, you know what, let me go to the gym. I was gonna do that this morning. I don't know what happened. Um, I think I might go tomorrow, actually. Probably like I don't I was thinking like later in the night before I go to work, but that's a little bit excessive for me. Um so I don't know. Like, I don't mind anymore that it's busy in the gym or you know, you have those like gym bros and stuff like that, but all I'd use is the treadmill for now. So I think we're just gonna be con oop be confident in going into the gym. It's a small gym, it's open from like 5 a.m. to 12am, which is great. But let me just start with the treadmill first, okay guys? And I think we'll walk like 20 minutes because I have to rest for work. So I just really want to get back into that. I say that every time. Like, I don't know if you guys relate. Like, I have this goal in mind, oh, we're gonna lose weight, we're gonna go to the gym, eat healthy, and then it's the same thing every year, every month, every day. And I just never push myself enough. You know, I feel like I have to be just a little bit more disciplined with myself, starting little by little, like at least um I don't know, at least just like setting up my headphones and a gym outfit. And then like that would be the first step. And then kind of just like having a plan in mind, like, okay, I am just gonna go on this treadmill for 20 minutes. Let me get through that and achieve that goal, and we'll go from there and we'll keep it consistent, you know, have a schedule. Um, I'll let you guys know how that works out because the night shift schedule is just like it's kind of tough because I also don't know when to do all this working out stuff. I've been better at meal prep. Um, but it's the it's the cardio that helped me a lot with losing weight, because that's what I did in I'll never forget spring 2019. I lost I think at least 19 pounds, and that was doing from that was from doing lacrosse and like eating super healthy, preparing my own meals, and pretty much no soda and just like staying hydrated and things like that. Um and that was like like I felt really healthy at that time, you know. Um, and like just a little bit more confident in my body. I don't have body dysmorphia or anything like that, but um, you know, I do get self-conscious sometimes, especially in the summer, because I don't like how short sleeves look on me with my arms. Um, because my arms are a little chunky, so yeah. But I know running has been really popular lately lately with a Strava app, and then my sister has been doing marathons and like hiking, so we could work with that. But I just want to do the 20 minutes on the treadmill. Let's see how that goes. I had to just like plan the block of when I can do it, like not when I want to do it, but like when I know in my heart that I can do it, um, or like in my schedule that I know I will be able to have some like flexibility too, um, of like, you know, I don't know, just like adjusting if I decide to do it 30 minutes later than scheduled. So we're gonna have to figure that out, guys. But I'll keep you updated for sure. Um also I want to end on this because I do have to go back to sleep or try to go back to sleep, but I know it's been a lot that I've talked about today. I was gonna talk about my boy troubles um and like the recent movie that I watched, which was Obsession. Um, somewhat of Okay, this is my unpopular opinion. I think it was good. Um I think Indy Neverett is such a great actress and her character in that movie, she played it so well. Um, but like that's not usually that's not kind of the vibe that I watch or like the genre that I would watch. So I think that's why I wasn't like, oh my gosh, this was the best movie ever. Um, but it was it was good. It was good. I'm not gonna say it was really good just because like I don't wanna over like over exaggerate my opinion on the movie, because I don't want to consider that as like really good or like the best movie that I've seen like in my life. Um, sorry, but it's definitely like like a good movie. Um and I see the clip of her saying like no, no, no, no, no. Um, I see that all the time on social media and my feed, and I just like I rewatch it a lot, and it's just like that was a very like great emotional expression in an actress that I've seen, and it was truly like she's a great actress, and she should get an Oscar for that. Um, but I have seen her in Superman and Lewis, Lois, when I was when that came out, whenever that was. Um, I didn't see her in 13 Reasons Why, but Superman and Lois, when I started watching that, I did see her as Sarah Cushing. So now seeing her on the big screen and going from that to again like a a box office movie, that's just like crazy to me. Because she is really good and like talented, so um, that's a great uh I was gonna say that's a great movie. That was a good movie for me. Um did I enjoy it? Yeah, I guess I guess I did. I watched it with my sister, so she really wanted to see it. I kind of wanted to see it, so I know she really loved it. She was like, oh, that's the best movie ever. Um for me, that's just not my style, not my genre. Um, but yeah, I was gonna talk about boy troubles because guys, like, tell me why this guy that I've had a crush on for forever, um, I kind of have to like I wanna share like the things that have happened so far since I guess my birthday really. Um, or I guess since like he reached out first. So I'll talk about that on another episode because that is that's something that I wanna vent about just a little bit, but um, and then ending on this guys, I did listen to the new Olivia Rodrigo epis uh episode um album. Pretty good. I do have to re-listen to it, um, just because like her style of music is just very lyric-based, and she puts so much emotion into the lyrics, and it has a lot of like meaning to it. So um some artists like that, I do re-listen to their music or like the song or album, like give it a second go. I think I really like would like it if I'd give it a second go. Obviously, there are songs that I'm just like right away, great song, like I'm vibing to this. Um, but with Olivia's album, new album, I definitely have to give it a listen. I do have some favorite songs that I already added to my daily driving playlist. Um, like Stupid Song, Drop Dead. I think it was begged, I think. Um otherwise, pretty good song. She's a great artist. Um, so I do have to listen to that again. But if you guys have listened to it, let me know your thoughts on it. Um, but yeah, I'm gonna end on that note, guys. I'm kind of excited now to to uh record the next episode because it's all about boys, um, all about this one guy. And I know y'all are gonna judge me a little bit for that and my actions and my deluluness. But you know what? I'm here to just kind of share what I've been feeling about this guy who I've known for quite a while now. Um, so stay tuned for that, guys. But otherwise I'm gonna head back to sleep and try to make it through tonight for work. But I will talk to you guys in my next episode. Hope y'all are having a great day and take a take care of though of those symptoms, whoever has seasonal allergies right now, because pollen is bad out here. So, alright, guys, I'll talk to you soon.
