What Happened in Paris After Midnight

What was supposed to be a romantic getaway to Paris turned into one of the most unexpected nights of Chris and Lexie's marriage. After discovering their hotel was located in the heart of Paris's famous red-light district, curiosity led them to explore a local "nude spa" that turned out to be unlike anything they had ever experienced.
 
In this episode, Chris and Lexie share the story of what happened after midnight—from wandering the streets near Moulin Rouge, to navigating a multi-story European lifestyle club, to witnessing scenes they never imagined they'd see. One curious decision led to another, and before the night was over, we found ourselves exploring a side of Paris that most tourists ever seen. There were surprises, temptations, unforgettable moments, and a story that still makes us laugh every time we tell it. Aw, thank you so much, Lexi. It's so good to be able to tell this story because this story is super fun. This story was um was was it was part of our honeymoon. So we went and a lot of you now have heard our honeymoon story from our London night. Um but we went to three we went to three countries total when we were on our honeymoon. Um we went to uh we went to the UK, we went to Belgium, and we went to France. Uh so this is one of the nights in Paris after midnight, what takes place in Paris. So before we get um before we get started, I just kind of want to level set that when we were looking for hotels in Paris, we we we just I I had been to the city several times, but I guess I just never knew kind of the names of the districts or that kind of stuff. I just didn't really pay attention to that stuff. Paris, quite frankly, before I went with you, was not my favorite place. After going with you, I had so much fun in Paris. This night is going to be one of those nights that we talk about. But it was so much fun, and I got to know that this the the kind of districts a little bit more. So we get to Paris on a train, right? We got there from a train, right? And so we get there, get in the train, and then I think we get in a tack in a in an Uber or a taxi or something like that from the train station over to our hotel. Is that is that is my memory serving me right? And so we get to the hotel, and um, you know, we're kind of tired. I if I remember correctly, we had like an early train that morning out of Belgium.

Yes, very early.

Yeah, it was an early train. So we were tired and we just kind of weren't paying attention. So we get to the hotel. Before we even left the hotel, Lexi, what were your first clues that we had booked a room in a very different part of Paris than what we had expected? This wasn't, you know, this wasn't Eiffel Tower in the background. What were your first clues? It was a nice hotel, by the way.

SPEAKER_01 3:56

This hotel, yeah, we liked it. But um, it it was one of those like little designer boutique who hotels, very small. And um in the lobby, I can't remember now what it was exactly, but there was some sort of a large piece of art that was a bit provocative. And I didn't think too much of it. I was just like, okay, edgy, fun. And um then we got to our room and I I was exhausted and I was like, I am taking an immediate nap, and then I will be fun afterwards, but I need a nap. And um Chris couldn't wait to go walk the neighborhood, so he's like, All right, peace, I'll be back in an hour and a half. Um, so while I am, you know, packing or putting stuff away and looking at the hotel, there's a picture, um, you know, a painting of a half-naked woman on the wall. And I'm thinking, okay, all right. Um when in Paris, I guess. Um, you know, I just I just kind of figured, hey, that's that's Paris for you. It's romantic and they're also a little more sexually open, maybe, than us Americans are, with um apparently their art as well. And I didn't think anything of it. What kind of gave me pause was you know how sometimes they'll put like either mints or chocolates on your pillow? Well, instead there were condoms, and then there was um on the like kind of mantle.

Now, did you think that they were mints or chocolates?

SPEAKER_01 5:26

No, I I knew what those were.

SPEAKER_02 5:27

So there was no disappointment from afar. Oh, I'm gonna get a chocolate.

SPEAKER_01 5:31

And then it was a yeah, no, it was very much a condom, very obvious a condom. And then um, I think there was actually a little bitty tube of lube um right behind the bed.

SPEAKER_02 5:43

Well, you know what? Some of those chocolates aren't even very good, to be fair. So useful. This is a useful gift.

SPEAKER_01 5:50

They don't go straight to your ass or anything either.

SPEAKER_02 5:51

Yeah. So I was like, okay, this is not normal. Like, this is this can't be normal. Um, but I was like, forget it, I'm taking a nap. And you went and walked around. What did you find?

SPEAKER_02 6:04

I did. So this was funny that Lexi was having this experience in the room. And, you know, I I within a few minutes of getting to a new city, I want to go walk around. And I hadn't been to this part of Paris before. So immediately, you know, we put the bags down. Lexi's gonna take a nap. She's having this whole experience she's talking about. And I walk out the door, and the first thing I see is a really cool-looking cafe across the street. And so I go in there, normal stuff. I just have some some French onion soup and some Dunk La Range, and then I walk up to the right. And to the right is normal what you think of Paris, the little cafes and the bakeries and and the cute little shops. There was even a little like merry-go-round area. It was adorable. Then I got back to the main street and I went the other way. So looking out of our hotel, instead of going to the right, I went to the left. And then I started to notice that things were a little bit different. There was that there was quite a few adult shops where you could purchase different, various kinds of fun products, whether that be toys or lingerie or whatever. I noticed there were several cabarets. I noticed a metro stop that said Pigal. Um, and I at the time had never heard of Pigal. And those of you who are listening, am I saying this right, by the way, honey?

Yes, because you were previously calling it Pigali.

Right. I was calling it Pigali. So thank you for the coaching report.

Because she told me that anybody who's listening from France is gonna get mad at me. And I I hope I'm I hope I'm saying Pigal right. But I didn't realize that we were in the red light district of Paris. Pigal is essentially the red light district of Paris. Um, and so as I'm walking, there's adult, um, also there's strip clubs, like a bunch of strip clubs. There are also several adult lifestyle clubs or sex clubs, but that they they call them spas, spas around, or the ones around there were spas types, is what they were advertising. Um, the Moulin Rouge was right there, like a block away. That's when I knew something was different. When I saw the Moulin Rouge, I was like, okay, check. Like, I've actually been to there before, and I remembered that the district like vaguely, but then coming back, I was so excited to run back and tell Lexi, Lexi, Lexi, guess what? We're in this Pigal district, we're in the red light district. And so we had this moment where we reconnect and we kind of tell each other the story, right? And then we we come to the aha moment of where we're at. Is that right?

Mm-hmm. Yeah. It was uh it was I I was really happy to be there. And um, you know, had I had I known, had I realized that we were going to be right down the street from Moulin Rouge, I would have pre-bought tickets and everything. Unfortunately, they were sold out for the time that we were there. We were only there a few days really.

But well, the weird thing is is that of of all the places that we didn't make plans, we didn't make plans when we went to Paris, like our other previous stops we did. But Paris is we were just like, you know what, let's just go let life lead us where it may, which is now leading to a podcast episode. So two things.

SPEAKER_01 9:10

Yeah. So the one the one city that we didn't make plans in, um, yeah, it turned out to be interesting anyway. Um so we decided to go to a nude spa.

SPEAKER_02 9:25

Right. So I come back, lexi, lexi, lexi. Guess what I found out. And you're like, yeah, I kind of figure that out too after I saw all these things and look at the condom and look at the lube on the bed and all that stuff. And so we were, I mean, I was like a little kid in a candy shop, right? Yeah, you were. I was pretty excited about that. I said, honey, you know, it's our it's our first night in in what is clearly one of the most romantic cities in the world.

So romantic. Would you in the middle of the sex my brand new bride?

SPEAKER_02 9:57

Would you and my brand new bride like to go? Because this is our honeymoon. Would you like to go to one of these uh nude spas, these uh adult lifestyle spas that evening? And your response was Hell yeah!

SPEAKER_01 10:11

Of course I do. Like a nude spa. That's new, that's different.

SPEAKER_02 10:16

So what were you thinking it was gonna be like?

SPEAKER_01 10:19

So I, you know, I I didn't I have very little to base it on. Um, you know, I I know in um, you know, places like Eureka Springs and Hot Springs, Arkansas, you know, they have like bathhouses kind of. And in those, I've I never got to go, but I I've always wanted to. And I I think it's more of a um, you know, you have your own private bath area. Um and then if there are any like um uh what's it called, common areas, you know, you do have to wear a bathing suit and it they're obviously not sex-based at all. I kind of thought it would be like that, but just all nude. Everyone would just be naked and checking each other out. Um, I didn't really think much further than that. And I didn't really care to research at first because I kind of wanted the surprise. So we we kind of went in blind and not really sure what we were walking into.

No, uh I mean this whole district was just is just so cool. And when I was learning how to pronounce the name Pigal, right? Yes, Pigal, I also looked up some of the history and it it just it was back a long, long, long time ago when France actually allowed um brothels when they were legal. They started in this kind of part of town, and then the Moulin Rouge became there, and then after brothels were made illegal, that there was more just like normal clubs and there was sex clubs, and it was all kind of mixing together. And so what was so cool about this district is like I said, when we left the hotel, if we were to turn right, it was cute little quaint Paris, and then to the left, it was the the the red light district, which was so cool. Very well, they mixed super well because you could go have a really cute lunch and then go do what we did. Yeah, so uh Lexi said yes, and so we decided to go to the to to the club. So Lexi, do you remember what it was like when we first walked in there and what the requirements were in terms of attire?

SPEAKER_01 12:20

Yeah, so it was it was odd. Um there were there were not a lot of people in there. Um, and the people that that were in there were all just a bunch of single guys that were just kind of sitting around waiting.

SPEAKER_02 12:33

Like hordes of men.

SPEAKER_01 12:34

Yeah, but just well, I don't know about hordes, but there were there were, you know, uh, you know, five or six of them, maybe.

SPEAKER_02 12:41

Um but not couples.

SPEAKER_01 12:43

And so that's just single guys waiting for couples.

SPEAKER_02 12:46

That was that was the first thing that I noticed that was different, is that and you don't see that in the US. You see, you see, you don't see very many single men, which we look for.

SPEAKER_01 12:55

Right, right. So that was you know a nice surprise, but um I I wasn't really attracted to any of them, to be honest. Um, but they you know, they're dressed in towels and just towels, and we find out that that is the dress code. If you are going to be in there, you're gonna go over to the locker room, which by the way, it's just a community locker room. There's no men or women's, you know, it's just everybody. And you have to be in a towel, or um, I guess you could be naked. I don't know, everyone was wearing a towel. Um and those so some of those guys were like giving us a tour of the place, and we were like, they must work here, right? But then this time went on, we were like, they don't work here, right? It was very strange.

They were just really friendly to you for some reason, honey.

SPEAKER_01 13:46

I have no idea why.

SPEAKER_02 13:47

I have no idea why. I thought that they worked there too. They were they were so friendly to us.

SPEAKER_01 13:51

They gave us the full tour. They were trying to everything. Like in here we have this, and over here, let me take you upstairs. We have these, and then we have these.

SPEAKER_02 14:01

And yeah, they were just trying to get into your towel.

SPEAKER_01 14:05

Yeah, it was it was definitely odd. So, I mean, it was you know, on the bottom floor, the one you go in on, it there's the bar, and um, but it was all BYOB.

SPEAKER_02 14:16

Yes, I think. Yeah, it was no I know actually at this one. I I don't think it was, but it was very hard to communicate with the bartender. I do remember the language barrier was significant.

SPEAKER_01 14:25

Yeah, it was really hard. Um, but so that's on the first floor in the locker rooms, and then the second floor is the rooms, right?

SPEAKER_02 14:35

And second floor was like the spa area, I think. Oh no, the second floor is the spa.

SPEAKER_01 14:40

The hot tub, yeah. So and the third floor was the rooms and um individual rooms, and then like a community room, too. Asana, um, it was really cold when we went, and so we were, especially me, like super freaking excited to get into a hot tub, you know, just a giant hot tub. That sounded amazing. And I'm I'm one of those girls, like I love baths, I love jacuzzies, I love being in hot bodies of water, you know, and in hot bodies, you know, like just um, you know, I I I love that. And so we were really excited to, you know, get rid of the chill and and be in this hot tub. And we were so disappointed because it was barely, it I don't know, it wasn't even lukewarm, really. I don't I don't think you could even say it was lukewarm. And um, we were we were like, are you freaking kidding me right now? Like this is happening, but we did have the whole thing to ourselves, so that was nice. Um but yeah.

Well, and then remember, there was more language barriers because there was a there were there was a group of of of nice Parisians that invited us to sit with them. And that was I I thought personally that was so kind that they wanted me and their graces, right?

SPEAKER_01 15:58

Yeah, we we thought it was very nice, you know. We were like, oh, how how nice they're they're including us, you know, these completely confused foreigners. And um there was the language barrier was was really hard. And so he, the the um older gentleman um of this group, he started trying to communicate with me using body language, body language, sign language, attempt, you know, not real American sign language or anything, but just like like uh pointing and he did this whole like right, like charades, right?

SPEAKER_02 16:31

It was it was charades. And for those of you who can't are not watching the video, Lexi was I was victimizing him basically saying, you me, fuck, yes. You me fuck, yes. I'm pretty sure that's exactly what he was saying.

SPEAKER_01 16:43

I think that is exactly what he was saying. I mean, and it was literally it was that childish. It was just like, you know, you, me, yes, bumping, yes, yeah, you want. And I was like, how do I politely say no, thank you? And so eventually we did, you know, kind of be like, it was so nice to meet you guys. We'll see y'all around. It was awkward, but you know, sometimes that happens in the lifestyle, you know, you don't you're not always going to want to do everyone that you meet in a club. That's that's not how real life works. You know, you gotta there has to be some sort of an attraction.

SPEAKER_02 17:22

Yeah, and speaking about real life, like what emotions were going through you like as we're in there, like we're in jest towels. Um, you know, you have all these guys who are just vying for you. What what emotions are going through your head?

SPEAKER_01 17:39

I mean, it was I felt a lot of pressure. I mean, because it was it was all these single guys, and then this guy who is part of the obviously, you know, like swinging couple or whatever. Um and I just kind of it was a it was a little uneasy, you know. It it's it's different than some of the the clubs here back home where there's lots of couples and everyone is clothed and or at least scantily clothed and um you know making niceties, you know, like chatting and instead of just kind of being like hey, you wanna you wanna do this? Let's let's you wanna right now, let's do this. So it was a little um you know, it was I wouldn't say it was like jarring or anything, it was just kind of like okay, wow, this is this is a lot all at once.

Yeah, I agree. There wasn't um there wasn't as much like small talk and stuff.

SPEAKER_01 18:46

Well, partially because the language barrier the single guys, some of them did speak English. So, you know, that was nice, but um there was you know the language barrier was part of it, and it just seemed it it it seemed more of a transaction than maybe we are used to.

SPEAKER_02 19:06

Yeah, it was. But you know what? We're there and we're on a mission that night, right? So we decided at that point in time that we're gonna head up to where where the rooms are, and there's a bunch of it was just very interesting. It was almost like there was a bunch of I almost want to say cubicles, but they were private rooms, but they were small.

They were tiny, they were broom closets. They had a, I would say full-size bed, not a queen, full-size beds, and the door barely closed. Like there was just enough room for the beds. There was it was weird, it was it was almost claustrophobic. Um, you know, it it works. We made it work, but it was they were shockingly tiny.

Well, there was all those small private rooms, and then there was on that same floor for some reason was the sauna, and then there was a group room, and that's where we were we headed because there was a like a private room within the group room, which I thought was really weird. But what we did was first is uh we looked, we were looking around to see if we could find a uh a baguette for you. Can we see fun on puns? That was awesome. That was good. High five. High five to myself. Okay. So I'm gonna stop now. I'm gonna stop okay. I promise I'll stop.

Okay, so so we're looking around to see if you know maybe we can find someone to have a threesome with. And um, I finally see this guy who I find cute and he's built, and um he's by himself and he's just chilling in one of the rooms. Like in all the rooms, they had uh, or no, it wasn't in the rooms. There's um right outside the rooms, they had different like little TVs showing porn. And he was so he's sitting on one of the beds, you know, like leaning, you know, a little bit outside the room to watch the TV, and he's just hanging out. So we decided to say hello, and I can't remember where he was from, but he spoke English, and he was um totally down to have fun with us.

Yeah. So then we go into that private room that's within that's within the group room. And the reason why that's important is because within the group room, there's there's it's more sofas, and there's and there's TVs with porn, and so there's big TV. There's people hanging out. There's people like at that point in time, they're just chilling on the sofa, mostly men just chilling on the sofa.

Yeah, single men, just like sitting on the sofa.

SPEAKER_02 21:46

So, anyways, we go into the put the set the the private room within that group room with this good-looking guy, and we get in there and we're about ready to have fun, and then um he was having some trouble, you know, getting it up.

SPEAKER_01 22:04

And so we, Chris and I were like, okay, um, we're we'll go ahead and we'll get started. And, you know, you take your time and you join when you're ready. And so we started, and you know, we're we're having a ball, and he realizes that he just can't make it happen. I don't know if he had to have too much or what, but he just he he realized it wasn't gonna happen. And so he decided to polite, politely bounce. You know, he's like, you know, I'm sorry, I can't make this happen tonight. You know, I it's too late at night, can't do it. Y'all have fun. And so we're like, all right, dude, no, no hard feelings. We understand. See ya, peace out, and we keep going. And I mean, he was gone for about 0.2 seconds when one of the other guys immediately takes that opportunity to like get he was right there at the entrance, just watching us.

Mm-hmm. Yeah, and then eventually came in because it was like a U, like an L-shaped, almost like bed in within that room. And so Yeah, that one was a little different. Two two guys were actually in there watching, so we had an audience.

Second guy showed up shortly after.

Second guy showed up shortly after. We had an audience. I think we performed pretty well.

I think we did.

High five to that. We did it. Good job. So we performed really well, and then we finished up. We had a wonderful time together, and then we decided to um step out of there, put back on our clothes, and then we were hanging out in the group.

SPEAKER_01 23:33

We didn't put our clothes back on. We were still we were in it.

SPEAKER_02 23:35

Well, you're right. We're just in towels. So we we put our we put our towel back on. Um and I went back down to the locker room for something during this point, and and you stayed up in the main area. I don't know if you you went to to use the restroom or something like that, but I went back to the locker room for something. And when I was down in the locker room, I met another couple that was just arriving for the night. And that couple, it was a man, an older gentleman and a younger woman. Um, and um, she did not speak English, but he spoke some broken English. And they were kind of um there she she was clearly disagreeing with him about something. And so he turns to me and he says, We will you tell her that that you actually have to not wear clothes here, you just have to be in a towel. And so I and so I point out, I was like, Yes, like that's true. Like, that's the dress code here. And she's like kind of playfully slaps him and she's like, Oh, like she was clearly did not want to walk around naked in this club. Do you remember this?

I remember you telling me about it because I wasn't there, but you told me that she was quite uncomfortable with it. She was annoyed as hell that she had to take her clothes off.

She did seem she did seem like that. So, anyways, so hold that thought for a second, listeners.

Because then I go back upstairs, I find Lexi, we hang out for a little while longer. Um, and then we decide to do that.

And then we like went back downstairs, back downstairs, got a drink, got a drink, yeah. Hung out down there for a little while. I think we got maybe got back in the water or something. Right. And then we decide to go back upstairs to see, you know, if there's anything happening in the group room. I don't know. You know, we just wanted to before we're like, well, before we leave, let's just see if anyone else has shown up since we've been down gone, which has been like 30 minutes, and we'll just see before we leave. And so glad we checked. Yes, so glad we checked. Because we walk in there and good goodness, I mean, she is the same shy woman. The same woman is um up on one of the couches, and she's got um a dude that's sitting on the couch, she's on top of him, sitting on top of him, facing out, legs splayed. Um while she's fucking that guy, she is getting her, you know, quit rubbed by one of the random single dudes. She's jacking one dude off, she's sucking another dude off. Um, she is just having a freaking gangbang right there. And we're like, ooh, okay, all right, let's let's sit down and get some popcorn. And we we got to sit and watch, which I was loving it because I have never, you know, anytime that we have gone out, um anytime there's been sex involved, we we have been involved, you know, or at least me.

And so that's a good way to put it. Yeah. At least you.

At least me. Um, if not both of us. And so I this was my first time ever in real life, like literally just sitting there watching a gangbang happen. And it was intense, it was awesome, it was slightly awkward. I was blushing a little bit. Like I was, I was like, I felt bad for watching, but couldn't look away. I mean, it was it was awesome.

Did it turn you on?

SPEAKER_01 27:41

Yeah, but I mean, it was it was uh a turn on, but it was also just like I was just fascinated by it. I don't know why. I just was like, oh my gosh, this is the best thing I've watched in a long time.

I mean, okay, so now I will ask you again, do you regret not having tickets to the Moulin Rouge when you got that kind of a show up close? I mean, we had front row.

SPEAKER_01 28:02

Yes, I still regret that. Yes, I would have liked to have gone to the Moulin Rouge. Yeah, but that was still a good second. That was definitely a good second place in something I I got to see um while we were there.

Now I want to add this part to the story that kind of wraps up that. Am I forgetting any part like within the club, honey? Think so. So we finish up in the club, we finish up this this great show that we're watching eventually has to come to an end, unfortunately.

Yeah, she had a nice, gigantic orgasm. Good for her. She she came hard, and then everyone just sort of like dissipated.

SPEAKER_02 28:42

Just disappeared. It was very sad, but it was the end of the night. It was you know, you hear that little bell, it's the end of the night. And so we decided to leave. And um I have to rewind by a day or two because we were in Belgium right before we were in France, and one night we went to an Italian restaurant, and you were very disappointed in the spaghetti that you had had that night.

And for days you were craving good spaghetti. So we were had just finished back now. We're back in the sex club. We had just finished there, we're walking out of the sex club, and you decide at 2:30 in the morning to go on a quest for spaghetti, not just spaghetti, but good spaghetti in the Bial district of Paris. And how did that quest go, honey?

Yeah, struck out a second time.

It was not the best spaghetti.

So um, you know, you you talked about um, you know, lifestyle bars and um parties and events, like so when it comes to lifestyle bars, like like lifestyle clubs, um, they're the cleanliness tends to be really good. Um, you know, they're they're excellent about keeping those places clean. You know, everything is um sanitized between people from what we saw. Um and uh so you know the the odds of it being clean are actually really good. Um parties, those it's you know, they don't have a full-time staff there making sure to sanitize everything between couples. It's it's pretty much a couple has sex in a bed, and then the next couple comes in and has sex on that bed, and you know, um it's there's not a lot of um cleanup happening, you know, everyone's just expected to kind of clean up after themselves. You know, you have a condom wrapper or worse, you know, you pick it up yourself. And but there's not a sanitation crew that's coming in after you to make sure that that's done. So, you know, if if you're really um, you know, super turned off by anything not being really clean, maybe the parties aren't the best idea. Um, you know, even some of the events, depending on how they're done, might not be the best idea. But generally, I think that the the lifestyle clubs tend to be pretty clean.
