Welcome back to the Life at Home Podcast. Grab your favorite cup of coffee and settle in. I'm your host, Nicole, and I am so excited to have our resident construction and remodeling expert Ryan back in the studio with us today.

SPEAKER_01

Hey Nicole, it is always a blast hanging out with you.

SPEAKER_00

Today we are talking about a topic that is so near and dear to my heart, especially for our listeners down in Southwest Florida. We are diving into efficient and stylish kitchen remodeling in Naples, specifically focusing on smart storage ideas.

SPEAKER_01

Oh, this is the best topic. If you live in Naples, you know the lifestyle. You're entertaining after a day out on the Gulf, or you're hosting family when they come down to visit. Your kitchen has to be beautiful, but it also has to be brilliantly organized to handle everything from packing beach coolers to laying out huge holiday spreads.

SPEAKER_00

Yes! There is nothing worse than a beautiful kitchen that is totally cluttered. Where do you even start when you want to redesign a space to actually function well?

SPEAKER_01

It all starts with a smart plan, and step one is taking inventory. You literally need to list what you own and how you cook. Think about those bulky items, the big blenders, roasting pans, wine glasses, and those giant beach tumblers we all have. Once you know what you have, you zone your kitchen. Prep, cook, bake, clean, and a coffee or bar zone. Each zone gets the exact storage that supports it.

SPEAKER_00

I love the idea of zones instead of just randomly shoving things into cabinets where they fit.

SPEAKER_01

Exactly. And a huge trend we are doing right now is replacing lower cabinet doors with deep 24-inch drawers.

SPEAKER_00

Oh my gosh, yes! No more getting on your hands and knees to dig out a pot from the back of a dark cabinet.

SPEAKER_01

Exactly. You pull the drawer out and everything is right there. We add peg systems for plates and bowls and heavy-duty dividers for pots and lids. We are also doing a lot of corner solutions, like Super Susan's or Lamont's pullout shelves, to turn dead corner space into actual useful storage.

SPEAKER_00

What about the small appliances that clutter up the countertops? The toaster, the coffee maker. They drive me crazy.

SPEAKER_01

Appliance garages are your best friend. We tuck those everyday appliances behind a sleek lift up or timbre door. We put outlets right inside the cabinet, so you use the appliance, and when you're done, you just shut the door. The counter is completely clean. We are even doing charging drawers with built-in USB ports so your phones and tablets aren't sitting on the island surrounded by cords.

SPEAKER_00

That is brilliant. What is a storage hack that people might not even know exists?

SPEAKER_01

Toe kick drawers.

SPEAKER_00

Wait, down at the very bottom near the floor?

SPEAKER_01

Yep, that baseboard space under the cabinets is usually just empty void space. We can turn those into hidden shallow drawers. They are absolutely perfect for baking sheets, serving platters, or rarely used linens. It is a game changer, especially if you live in a smaller Naples condo where every square inch matters.

SPEAKER_00

That is so smart. Now, Ryan, living on the coast means we have to deal with humidity and salt air. Does that affect the materials you choose for a kitchen remodel?

SPEAKER_01

100%. You cannot cut corners on materials in Florida. For cabinet construction, you really need furniture-grade plywood boxes because they resist humidity so much better than standard particle board. We also use moisture smart finishes and corrosion-resistant hardware. For countertops, quartz is incredibly popular because it's low maintenance and resists stains from citrus and wine, which is very important for entertaining.

SPEAKER_00

Let's talk aesthetics. When people want that Naples style, what are they asking for?

SPEAKER_01

It's all about light, airy palettes, coastal whites, sandy beiges, and driftwood tones. It feels timeless and expands the space. We like to mix textures too. Think soft matte cabinets paired with brushed brass or black hardware. Maybe some rift-cut oak accents or a fluted panel on the island. And a show-stopping backsplash, like subtle stone slabs or mother of pearl accents, adds that coastal elegance without visual noise.

SPEAKER_00

You mentioned condos earlier. Remodeling a condo in Naples comes with its own set of rules, right?

SPEAKER_01

Oh, big time. You have to coordinate with the HOA for elevator reservations, work hours, and debris removal. There are also plumbing and ventilation constraints. That's why having a professional team is so vital.

SPEAKER_00

And speaking of a professional team, Ryan, if our listeners want to bring these smart storage ideas to life and create a stunning Naples kitchen, who should they reach out to?

SPEAKER_01

They absolutely need to contact Renovations Plus of Naples. We specialize in single-family homes and condos throughout the area. Our process is so tailored to the homeowner. We listen to how you cook and entertain, we handle all the HOA permitting and rules, and we even do 3D renderings so you can visualize the storage zones before we build. Plus, we are obsessive about keeping a clean, organized build with strict dust control to keep your home comfortable during the remodel.

SPEAKER_00

That peace of mind is priceless. Renovations Plus really knows how to make a kitchen work smarter and look stunning.

SPEAKER_01

We really do. Give us a call and let's design a kitchen that's as efficient as it is elegant.
