In the 11th episode, the 11th house, of groups and friends is revealed to be more than just friendship. It is deeply connected to people joining together around a shared vision. A community like a this! Join Dr. Craig as he explains and invites you to consider: Who is my community of friends and like-minded people? And: How do we work towards a common vision together? The answers could be through learning and uplifting consciousness. Or as simple as building a more rewarding experience for our children and loved ones. For whatever reasons we want to be a part of a group, may it always be for love and the betterment of ourselves and others. #learnastrology #bedeep
Hello and welcome to episode number 11, In It Together. So the houses that we've been talking about all along, the 12 houses of astrology, have finally met up there at the 10th house, and we've decided to do something and dedicate ourselves to something and build something. And we find when we get there that we want to share what it is that we've built. We want to meet other people along the way who have the same vision that we have. Something like, do you see what I see in the world? Can we connect around these beliefs and these things that had meaning from the ninth? And then by consequence, what it is that we want to construct. And can we pool ourselves together as a group to create something even greater? That's the nature of the 11th. Most people learn that the 11th house is about friendship and groups and organizations and even hopes and ideals. But what is the common thread? And the answer is that the 11th house is about discovering the people and the communities that share our similar vision. It could be a vision of the future, it could be somewhat futuristic, like, oh, this is what we want to build together, this is where we're headed. I think coming from the ninth, which is Sagittarius, it is a very creative. It's fire again. You know, Sagittarius and the ninth house is a fire element. So it has to do with creating something. And when we move into the 10th house, which is the earth house, we say, okay, this is what inspired me. This is what I've decided is giving me meaning. This is what I think I'll build from that meaning. Now we're going to have a shared inspiration, a common value that connects us. And so who else shares that vision? And you ask yourself, where do I belong within something that's larger than myself or that I'm not doing alone? In the traditional meanings, friendship is pretty obvious the way that it comes in here because we're not talking about casual people in our lives. We're talking about the people that are connected through shared interests, common goals, and like mind. That's where we're going to get the idea of the collective conscious, what we all think, what we're all aware of. The 11th house is very much about the collective conscious. We are all conscious of the fact that we like art and therefore we create an art community. We are all conscious of the fact that mysticism or astrology can help us grow. Therefore, we want to become a part of an astrology community. That's the way our friendships are built, is around a shared interest and a mutual understanding of what we like, quite simply, what we like, what we're driven towards, and what has meaning for us. Groups and associations are the same way, whether it's organizations or social networks or even professional groups, clubs, and things like that, is that the individuals are gathering around a common purpose and a common interest. The subcategory of hopes and wishes, which the 11th house is also a part of, hopes, wishes, and ideals, is also fitting into the same category because the hopes and wishes are the vision of what could be part of the group, right? It's a futuristic again, but what could be? It's even what could be in a relationship, what could be between two people, what could be in a group of people striving to create um something in the world. And ideals is very similar, right? Because you say these are the things we believe are worth working towards together. So we have individualistic ideals, and we do find what those are through the houses of astrology. And in the ninth house, we really deeply discover what's meaningful for us, what ideals are meaningful, and then hopefully we work towards building that. But there's collective ideals as well, any kind of group or affiliation that you may have, or even a group of people that you are connected to socially or professionally. You're working towards something in that group. Somebody might say, Oh, well, I made a book club. The people in the book club are all generally interested in learning and reading, and that is what's worth striving for together is staying current, maybe, or finding out what's going on in the world, or what people are thinking. So all of these meanings, friends, groups, hopes, and ideals all point towards something called shared vision. And shared vision implies connection because it's shared. So it's not just the individual uh vision that we might have that we started off with in the first house, right? This is Aries, this is my vision for the world, this is my vision for who I am as a human, and the fifth house, which is another level of fire, which is this is how I express that, my identity to you. Um remember it was very much about moving into grade school, and then the ninth house, which is this is what's really meaningful to me, what's truly meaningful to me after having gone through the eight houses. The ninth says, Wow, stripping away uh so much stuff that might be superficial, this is actually what's meaningful to me. 10 is what we're going to build from that, and 11 is are are there any other people that share that common belief, that common excitement? Are there any other people that feel motivated by the same thing as me? And inevitably we find out that there are, and that group of people has a shared vision. So a little word on what is the collective conscious, collective consciousness. And the the 10th is like my contribution, and the 11th house is our contribution. It focuses on beyond the individual achievement and what can be accomplished if there's collaboration. Collaboration is also a great 11th house word. But in order to be able to collaborate, we have to be conscious, we have to be aware of what it is that we value. And that's why the 11th, an Aquarius, is an air sign, and we collect, we collect again and connect on an uh individual level, but it's coming from the mind. So it's what we think, and what we think we are usually very conscious of, right? Since it's in our thoughts. I like nature, I like animals, I like mysticism, I like cooking, I like gardening, I like cars, right? I like um riflerry, I like um uh vacations and discovering foreign lands, right? Anything that it is that we can say that we like that has meaning, right? We're just easily substituting that word in there because usually we like the things that have meaning for us, those are the things where we're going to seek out other people so that we can connect with them around that common joy, that common experience of um meaning and happiness that comes from being engaged in something that we find important, that we find meaningful. So finding your people, saying to yourself, who understands what matters to me, but who believes what I believe, uh, who's trying to build what I'm trying to build, who share similar hopes that I have for the future of the world or family. It doesn't have to be huge, it doesn't have to be global. It could be who's sharing the hopes that I have for my community, my child, my school system. And then we find people that are involved in groups and associations that are building things for the community, for the children, but it's not in isolation, it's in a group of people. Um, for instance, if you're in a school system and you value athletics, most school systems are going to have an athletics department because that's something that more than one person values. And this could be very simple. You could say, like, oh, well, you know, this is pretty obvious, but it's not when you really pick it apart. When you say humans are drawn towards creating collectives of other humans that strive because there's power in numbers, and there's also support in numbers, and there's also an ability to continue to do the work together in numbers that can make things better. So a group of people will do a similar type of thing that an individual does, and the and they will go through a similar path of establishing an identity and then deciding what works for them and then discovering what has meaning for them as a group and then producing a result. So communities and the collective conscious, which is what we are all aware of, right? That's what I was saying before. I like this, this, or this. That's a collective conscious. All the people who are saying that at the same time. All the people who are saying what it is that they're drawn to, and then they find each other. Communities of artists, scientists, activists, um, could be religious communities or professional organizations or astrology students, friendship groups, right, that are built around shared interests. That is the 11th house. So the collective conscious is the kind of shared ideas that connect people together. And I think it's an important part of knowing that that's the 11th house because when we get to the 12th, um it's about the collective unconscious, and we will definitely dive into that more. So shared goals, shared values built around a shared awareness. Are we in this together? That's so important because when we say yes, then we have a group of friends or a group of like-minded people that we could be friends with because we are sharing that common vision, that common value. So the high-minded promise of the 11th house, of course, is that um people need to become part of larger networks, uh, contributions expand. You can have an individual contribution, but let's say you write a book, you're going to need a publisher, you're going to need a um a distribution network, you're going to need different friends and associations and groups that support your work. It's not done in isolation. And so the 11th house teaches us that our purpose becomes stronger when it connects with other people. And so, yeah, it's traditional meanings. We can look at planets in the 11th house and we can say, oh, you're attracted to friendships and groups and associations. But this is the reason. The reason is because an 11th house person is drawn to creating and finding groups that share the vision that they have for the now and also for the future, like pointing, pointing a group in a direction because that's how humans are oriented, right? This is the vision that we have for moving the intention of our group forward. What are we building together? What do we hope to build together? And what kind of world are we trying to create? And remember, it could be very immediate. That word world doesn't necessarily mean that we need to affect a country or a globe. What kind of world are we trying to create for our office? What kind of uh, you know, the office group, there's 10 employees. What kind of world are we trying to create here? What kind of world are we trying to create in a school system? This is why hopes and ideals belong in the 11th house. Of course, as always, there's a shadow side to the 11th because we can surrender our independence and just become one of the crowd. Um, tribalism, right, can divide us between us and them. There can be ideological rigidity that emerges. We can become attached to a belief system instead of what is really true. That's a huge conversation right there. Um, we could want to belong to a group at any cost and then change ourselves to fit in, uh, seeking acceptance instead of authenticity, which obviously is going to damage all the work that we've done from the first house. There's always little pitfalls along the way because there's always little distractions, but staying on the path towards cohesion, unification of the self is the goal. And we also don't want to live through the collective, right? We don't want to be, you know, um, I am the shared vision. We want to be a contributor to the collective vision, we don't want to disappear into it. So this journey through the houses has been building really beautifully, right? The idea that we can go and and we can become who we are, we can uh know how what we value from that, we can learn to express it, we can have that modified by our emotional life. We can then go into the world and say, hey, this is who I am, and then we can take what works in that environment and we can practice it over and over to hone our um offerings, you know, to people, and then we can improve. Um, we can then go in the world and try and create meaningful relationships with people. We can go through very serious and deep experiences with those people, which then um filter out of life the true meaning of what says something to us uh about life that's important, and we can then say, you know what, I I really am connected to these beliefs, and I want to build something meaningful in the world that's a reflection of that, and then we find the group of people that's also a part of that, friends, associations with the similar ideals, hopes, and wishes that we all have together. And suddenly all the traditional keywords of all the houses snap into place. The 11th is a tremendous segue into the 12th, and it basically says, Are we in this together? And hopefully the answer is yes. My name is Craig Martin, and you've been listening to this Age of Stars podcast, and I look forward to seeing you again soon. Have a great day.
