Really big day today. Mercury is going retrograde in Cancer, and there's a full moon in Capricorn. And the two of those things together, because they represent a polarity, Cancer is in opposition to Capricorn. They're opposite each other in the zodiac, represent a kind of continuum of something that we could be able to look at. I think the very first thing is that the Mercury retrograde has a bad understanding, right? Like it's a it has a generalized social media understanding that your computer breaks down. That's really not, and don't sign contracts, right? That those are the two things that everybody knows about Mercury retrograde. But really, the Mercury retrograde is an opportunity to review what you've been doing, to look at the things that have happened and slow down and gain an understanding of the direction that you've been going in. It always reminds me of the tides. Like the tides come in, the tides go out, there's forward movement, and then there's movement that happens in reverse so that we can look at what it is that we've been doing, what it is that we've been working on. But I'd like to start a little bit with the full moon and say that the full moon in Capricorn is not the easiest moon, right? Um, Capricorn is not functioning as well with the moon as any other sign. It's the one sign where the moon doesn't feel comfortable there, you might say. And yet, what's the silver lining of full moon in Capricorn is that it shines its light on everything that you've committed yourself to and the structures of your life, where you might be overextended, where you might be confusing achievement for fulfillment, where you may be carrying responsibilities that don't actually belong to you anymore. Capricorn is incredibly noble in its own way. It's very concerned with social consciousness, but it can also become so responsible, so dutiful that it sometimes could be good that we ask ourselves, what is it that we really need to carry? What do we still need to reflect on and say, well, these are the jobs that I need to do, these are the jobs that I don't need to do anymore? And the Mercury retrograde in cancer, cancer is not a sign that thinks first, it remembers because cancer is nostalgia and family orientation and the emotional conditioning of our life. So as Mercury turns around, cancer says, What are the old conversations that keep popping up? My old fears, my old family stories, some old definitions of success that I have, old emotional habits, because Mercury is retracing those old pathways through cancer to see whether any of those things still deserve to exist. I think progress isn't always moving forward. Sometimes progress becomes conscious of what we've been doing unconsciously, if we've been chasing success or, you know, because we needed approval, or if we've been taking care of everyone because that's how we learned to love. I like this one. If we've been overworking because the rest never feels on never feels safe, the idea of just slowing down for a minute. And the Mercury retrograde is giving us permission to take a look at those and perhaps rewrite those internal instructions or directives that we're not even really conscious of. It could be very liberating. Mercury retrograde doesn't have to be a time of confusion, it could be a time of reviewing old conditioned patterns in the light of structural responsibility. That's how I see the full moon in Capricorn and the Mercury retrograde in Cancer initiating on the same day. That's why it's of importance to connect the two. That we say, you know, what what am I being moved by? Can I just stop moving for a second and understand some emotional roots behind the choices that I'm making? I'm not just looking to build a life, I'm looking to actually build a life that feels like home. And that is very important in our understanding of this day. You've been listening to Sage of Stars podcast, and I will talk to you real soon.
